FUCKED UP SCIENCE LADY CONVENTION‼️‼️‼️
from top to bottom, left to right it's:
Glados from Portal
Raphealla La Cognizi from The Mechanisms
Dr Lubelle from Welcome To Night Vale
Dr Fayrouz from Qualia Automata
and last but certainly not least, Dr Temnova from Parties Are For Losers
This took me a while but I'm extremely happy with how it came out and it is my current lockscreen :-D

we lost a lot of iconic characters due to the explanations of dr lubelle. we lost sarah sultan, we lost the glow clowd (all hail), even the brown stone spire was taken from us by the disgusting scientists from the university of what it is… but now, taking away our WEATHER REPORT??!?!? i’ve never felt such horrible pain, when cecil said “here’s a song for you to listen to.” i honestly almost wept. i think we all deserve an extra hour in the ball pit after this :(

I need dr lubelle to see a planet of awesome size, lit by no sun, an invisible titan, all thick black forests and jagged mountains and deep, turbulent oceans

i think with the events of the recent episode, it’s important to recognise that was dr.Lubelle is doing is not explaining things.
that’s not why sarah sultan died, because when joseph and kareem went to her to try and figure out a way back to the ‘’real’’ world, she shrugged their experiences off as delusions. she didn’t actually explain WHY there are doubles for everyone (probably reality-converging timeline shenanigans), she made them think they had gotten an answer, when we know for a FACT that joseph fink is not from night vale, we heard him get trapped.
And then she went off to try and find dana to dig up the grave of her (not?)double, so she could make up some half-baked explanation about it and gaslight literally everyone, including us the listeners, about the events that we literally heard go down.
She isn’t explaining shit because she doesn’t understand wHY night vale is like this, she just wants everything to fit her version of reality. so basically I’m saying dr lubelle killed sarah sultan in some other fucked up way

All this talk about doubles and places being scientifically interesting makes me hope Kevin will make a return

thinking about how Lubelle straight up told Cecil he was delusional/hallucinating after explaining Station Management, because you could hear how terrified he was
On top of everything, he just lost his reality again
Cecil has already lost so much of his life. Without a childhood he can recognize, NVCR has been basically the only thing that's been there for most of his life. Having such an integral part of that be stripped away too?
When Lubelle told him his reality had been shattered, I don't think she knew how accurate that was. Cecil's percieved reality has always been shattered, and she just destroyed one of the only lifelines he had left

I have a dreadful feeling this arc is gonna culminate into an episode called “Night Vale, Explained” (or “Welcome to Night Vale, Explained” if Joseph tells Dr. Lubelle the title of his podcast) and that very real possibility haunts me

What if Dr. Lubelle tries to explain Cecil and the episode after that is a completely ordinary radio show?
“And now, the weather: it’s going to be a very hot and sunny day with a low chance for storms in the evening”
“Let’s take a brief break to listen to some music *the song of the episode plays*”

“Keep Nightvale Weird” would be a legitimately haunting plea given what’s happening rn

can we just quickly go back to the fact that, not only was Dr Janet Lubelle crushed by a dead cow that fell from the almighty glowing cloud in the sky (all hail), but we also just literally left her there. for 6 weeks. her corpse AND the cow's corpse. just laying there. FOR SIX WEEKS . GUYS OUR TOWN IS PROBABLY SMELLING LIKE SHIT BY NOW-
(better than street cleaners tho. yeesh-)

If Martin and Jon were in Nightvale Martin would simply shoot doctor lubell with a gun because that man has had Enough of stuffy, condescending jackass academics killing innocent folks for their own unknowable motives

dont get me wrong 20 minutes of steve carlsberg hyping me up was exactly what i needed, but why? does this relate to dr lubelle's explaining of night vale? since steve can see the arrows in the sky and realises night vale's inherent weirdness, will she somehow use him? against his family?

***WTNV Spoilers***
Look, I understand how cool it is that WTNV is using dumb common sense to explain mysteries. It says alot about cryptid culture and religious hysteria- honestly I could write a million essays on this. But like- can we talk about Cecil Gershwin Palmer's derealisation issues and how the current arc fucks with that? (Written by someone who suffers derealization)
From early on, Cecil's perception with reality has been warped, we've seen countless examples of him struggling with his understabding of what is real and what is not. Many things contributed to this, from his mothers psychological abuse, to his fear/confrontation of mirrors, to his general mental health: essentially he is constantly struggling with delusionals and paranoia.
Then along comes this scientist determined to explain everything, and she starts poking holes in his reality. The things he was sure were real; his job, his friends, his town, suddenly start falling apart, and he's suddenly at this point that where he can't differentiate what's real or not.
And now, rather than him just questioning his own existence, he's questioning the existence of those around him, and the fear of loosing them grows to something more. Before we know it, he will start fearing the existence of his child, start fearing the existence of his sister, of Janice of Steve, and most of all of Carlos. And Dr Lubelle will be able to use this to break Cecil apart.
I do not know how long nightvale plans to run for, but i truly believe there is possibility for a great and powerful end with this concept. Watching your reality unravel is greater than any fear, and the fact Cecil could be undone by such simple logic, is a fear in itself. I would love to see this avenue explored more, for us to see where the doctors explanations bring her, as she continues to destroy others lives.
But the idea of nightvale banding together, to possibly bring Cecil back to reality, to make him real once again Is something close to my heart. And even if not directly expressed, any scenario where nightvale wins against the university we are essentially seeing that. I don't know. There's just something beautiful in trusting the unexplainable when you can barely trust yourself. And I hope that Cecil is able to recover from whatever doubt is starting to fester once again within himself.

You know, I dont think Lubelle would be able to explain the house that doesnt exist like she threatened to. That was one of the first things Carlos tried to figure out when he showed up -- long before he was integrated enough into Night Vale that he was willing to let some mysteries stay mysteries. He still couldnt come up with a feasible scientific explanation for it, though
Besides, Lubelle knows it exists, and she isnt able to ignore a scientific mystery, so it's a reasonable assumption that she's been looking into it already. I think that threat wasn't "I'll start looking into it and then I'll solve it." I think it was "I'm already looking into it, so it's only a matter of time til I figure it out." But she hasn't figured it out yet, and if Carlos wasnt able to figure it out in a year, I doubt she'd be able to, either.
