✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍. ❤️🖤💚 ✨Valerie Brown✨ is the first African-American female cartoon character on a regular animated television series. Valerie performs back-up vocals and occasionally sings lead for the Pussycats. She plays tambourine, is also the group's main songwriter, and is occasionally seen playing different instruments. She is the character who saves the day the most often, thanks to her street smarts and her mechanical and scientific genius. In the comics, this is downplayed, although she is still the most intelligent of the group. Valerie's speaking voice is performed by Barbara Pariot, and her singing voice is performed by Patrice Holloway, sister of Motown recording artist Brenda Holloway. She was played by Rosario Dawson in the live-action movie. Irie Hayleau will portray her in the CW series Riverdale. 👉🏾Her name is Valerie Brown, she has #YayMagic, and she was ✨💕🎈Drawn Before Us🎈💕✨. . . . . #yay9 #yay #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2018 #blackhistory . . #yay9 #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2018 #blackhistory #josieandthepussycats #valeriebrown #blackcharacters #character #cartoon #blackboyjoy #fortheculture #blackexcellence #blackgirlmagic #blackboyjoy #melanin #blm #inclusion #inclusionmatters #supportblackart #supportblackartists #subscriptionbox

✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍. ♥️🖤💚. Shana Elmsford (voiced by Cindy McGee) is an African American foster girl who grew up with Kimber, Jerrica and Aja at Starlight House and was the second child to be adopted by the Bentons. Shana provides the synth drums, bass guitarist, and backup vocals for the Holograms. Despite Shana's shy demeanor she eventually became good friends with the other girls. Shana's boyfriend is Anthony Julian, a music producer she meets in the series; she also designs many of the Holograms' clothes. Shana briefly left the group to pursue a career in fashion as a designer for actress Liz Stratton, wrongly assuming she was not wanted. Shana later walked off the production when she decided she'd had enough of Stratton's ego. She returns to the band and switches instruments playing the bass guitar while Raya takes over on drums. Shana sometimes expresses doubts in her talents as a designer, particularly in the episode "In Stitches" when she is needled over this by Roxy and the other Misfits. She has great respect for Danielle DuVoison, who has taken a personal interest in Shana's work and often gives her helpful advice. 👉🏾Her name is Shana Elmsford, she has #YayMagic , and she was ✨💕🎈Drawn Before Us🎈💕🎈. . . . . . . . #yay9 #yay #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2018 #blackhistory #blackcharacters #character #cartoon #blackboyjoy #fortheculture #blackexcellence #blackgirlmagic #melanin #blm #inclusion #inclusionmatters #supportblackart #supportblackartists #subscriptionbox #animatedseries

✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍 ♥️🖤💚 Superstretch and Microwoman are a fictional, shape-shifting, husband and wife crime-fighting team, shown as a segment of Tarzan and the Super 7 in 1978. Paired in lightweight adventures, on the surface Chris and Christy Cross were just your average suburban couple. But when they sprang into action, Chris could take virtually any shape (such as a plane, a robot, a rubber ball, a perfect double of a villain, etc.). Christy could, as her name implied, shrink to microscopic size. Frequently tagging along on their adventures was their little dog, Trouble. The duo was a new concept for superhero cartoons in that they were the first African-American man/woman duo, and that they did not change into superhero costumes when the need to use their powers came, or adapt a "secret identity", simply wearing ordinary clothes. Some times if the need arose, Christy and Chris would use their powers to accomplish household chores. 👉🏾They are Superstretch and Microwoman, they have #YayMagic , and were ✨💕🎈Drawn Before Us🎈💕✨. . . . . #yay9 #yay #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2018 #blackhistory #blackcharacters #character #cartoon #blackboyjoy #fortheculture #blackexcellence #blackgirlmagic #melanin #blm #inclusion #inclusionmatters #supportblackart #supportblackartists #subscriptionbox #animatedseries #superstretch #microwoman

✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍. ♥️🖤💚 The Hardy Boys is an animated series, produced by Filmation and aired Saturday mornings on ABC in 1969. It featured the Hardy Boys, Joe and Frank, along with their friends Chubby Morton, Wanda Kay Breckenridge, and Pete Jones (one of the first black characters to appear on Saturday morning television) touring as a rock band while solving mysteries. The series is also notable for its opening and closing credits, in which the Hardys appeared in live action. The series debuted at the same time as Hanna-Barbera's similarly themed Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, which was scheduled against the show on CBS. ✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍. ❤️🖤💚 Harlem Globetrotters is a Saturday morning cartoon produced by Hanna-Barbera and CBS Productions, featuring animated versions of players from the famous basketball team, Harlem Globetrotters. Broadcast from September 12, 1970 to September 2, 1972 on CBS, and later re-run on NBC as The Go-Go Globetrotters, the show featured cartoon versions of George "Meadowlark" Lemon, Freddie "Curly" Neal, Hubert "Geese" Ausbie, J.C. "Gip" Gipson, Bobby Joe Mason, and Paul "Pablo" Robertson, alongside their fictional bus driver and manager, Granny, and their dog mascot, Dribbles. (Guard Leon Hillard was originally planned to be on the series, but was cut out of the cast prior to the start of production.) The series worked to a formula where the team travels somewhere and typically get involved in a local conflict that leads to one of the Globetrotters proposing a basketball game to settle the issue. To ensure the Globetrotters' defeat, the villains rig the contest; however, before the second half of the contest, the team always finds a way to even the odds, become all but invincible, and win the game. 👉🏾They're The Harlem Globetrotters they have #YayMagic, and they were ✨💕🎈Drawn Before Us🎈💕✨. . . . . #yay9 #yay #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2018 #blackhistory #orangeblossom #creesummer #strawberryshortcake #blackcharacters #character #cartoon #blackboyjoy #fortheculture #blackexcellence #blackgirlmagic #blackboyjoy #melanin #blm #inclusion #inclusionmatters #supportblackart #supportblackartists #subscriptionbox

She wears her brown hair in three braids with a barette at the end of each, and wears a yellow and purple short-sleeved dress, purple leggings, red green bracelet, and red ballet flats. She is shown to be a sweet, bright, kind, friendly, compassionate, trusting, fun-loving, athletic, competitive, adorable and tomboyish yet very beautiful little girl and was one of the few African-American characters on the show. Susie loves adventure, and, like the babies, has a very active imagination. She is always "on stage," so to speak, rehearsing and reciting line from famous plays and making entrances wearing imaginative costumes. Though some may think she is overdramatic and somewhat of a dreamer, she likes to think of herself as an artist with high aspirations. Indigo's color represents drama and emotion. #BlackHistoryMonth #AfricanAmericanHistoryMonth ❤️🖤💚✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍. This is the first in the series to feature a black person as the main character of the series. It teaches about the multiplication of 6 with visits to the neighborhood candy store, a restaurant, and an African prince. Sung by Grady Tate. The original lineup, consisting of thirty-seven episodes, was recorded and produced between 1972 and 1979. The first season of Schoolhouse Rock, "Multiplication Rock", debuted in 1973 and included all of the multiplication tables from two through twelve, with one episode devoted to powers of 10 (My Hero Zero) instead of multiples of ten. This original series was followed in short order by a new series, ran from 1973 to 1975, entitled "Grammar Rock", which included nouns, verbs, adjectives, and other parts of speech (such as conjunctions, explained in "Conjunction Junction"). 👉🏾He's the Little Boy in "I got six", he has #YayMagic, and he was ✨💕🎈Drawn Before Us🎈💕✨. . . #yay9 #yay #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2017 #blackhistory #africanamericanhistory #africanamericanhistorymonth #schoolhouserock #cartoon #animatedseries

#BlackHistoryMonth #AfricanAmericanHistoryMonth ❤️🖤💚✏️Drawn Before Us...🖍. Schoolhouse Rock! is an American interstitial programming series of animated musical educational short films (and later, videos) that aired during the Saturday morning children's programming on the U.S. television network ABC. The topics covered included grammar, science, economics, history, mathematics, and civics. The series' original run lasted from 1973 to 1985; it was later revived with both old and new episodes airing from 1993 to 1999. Additional episodes were produced in 2009 for direct-to-video release. Using a soul/rock inspired song written by Bob Dorough and performed by Zachary Sanders, this cartoon depicts an African-American boy going to the downtown theatre to watch the afternoon matinée of the feature called Verb who is a superhero of his ethnicity doing things like getting nouns and making them into verbs, while he also saves this little boy in his dreams and then plays baseball at the end. As with most of these things that were originally shown after various Saturday morning programs on ABC, "Verb: That's What's Happening" entertains plenty with the song and images used to depict whatever lessons meant to be taught and learned by the child viewing audience. 👉🏾His name is Verb, he has #YayMagic, and he was ✨💕🎈Drawn Before Us🎈💕✨. . . #yay9 #yay #drawnbeforeus #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2017 #blackhistory #africanamericanhistory #africanamericanhistorymonth #numbuh5 #knd #kidsnextdoor #cartoonnetwork #animatedseries
