There are only two volcanic islands in the Adriatic sea and this is one of them - Brusnik island. Big southern winter storms combined with high tides can push the sea through the gorge that splits the island in two amd turn one island into two. The sea also fills the little pools that you can see in the 3rd photo. These pools were used by local fishermen to store freshly caught lobster. The 120mio years old rocks were also collected and used as sharpening stones for knives etc... The island is really completely different from all the other island here.
