APAC Electric Charging Station Market Witnesses Upward Trend with Government Expenditure to Boost EV Charging Infrastructure
Electric vehicles, such as electric cars and electric bikes, may plug in and receive electricity from a charging station. The market for electric charging stations in APAC is anticipated to rise as electric vehicle production increases. For instance, China Polestar, a Volvo subsidiary, began producing the Polestar 2 BEV in March 2020.
Today, the APAC electric charging station industry is mostly fueled by the economies of Japan, China, and Australia. India is a key market contributor as well. The largest public EV charging station in India opened in Navi Mumbai in July 2021 thanks to EV charging solutions vendor Magenta. The charging station has 16 AC charging stations, 4 DC charging stations, and other amenities including overnight parking. A new electric car strategy was previously announced by the Gujarat government in India in June 2021 to promote the use of environmentally friendly vehicles. The government of Gujarat announced that it would offer incentives of up to US$ 134 per kWh for electric vehicles, and that commercially operated public EV charging stations would qualify for a 25% capital subsidy. The program's Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) effort includes the initiative. Government programs to encourage the use of EVs are therefore anticipated to support the expansion of the APAC market for electric charging stations.

Government Subsidies On EVs In India
Tumblr media
An increasing number of people are opting for electric vehicles (EV) over petrol or diesel vehicles. This option is not only better for the environment, but is also more efficient as compared to traditional fuel-powered vehicles. Moreover, rising petrol and other fuel prices have triggered an increase in the number of customers who want to shift to electric vehicles. In India, electric vehicles are not only cost-effective, but they also have financial benefits.
Individuals who purchase EV on loan will be eligible for a tax reduction of Rs 1.5 lakh on the interest charged on the mortgage balance under this provision. There are plenty of electric vehicle models on the market, and with increased sales, some automakers are planning to introduce new models.
This article will take you through the government subsidies on electric vehicles in India.
The Indian government has been pushing for the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. The government is not only providing various subsidies to buyers of EVs but also has announced schemes to promote the setting up of charging stations.
In a recent development, the government of India has decided to give significant subsidies on Electric Vehicles (EVs). The government is already giving an incentive of INR 9,000 on electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, and the latest decision will further sweeten the deal.
India has taken a bold step forward by supporting the electric vehicle industry with generous incentives in an attempt to see a rise in electric vehicles manufactured and sold within the country. Electric vehicles in India are poised to become a major player while helping to shape the future of the automotive industry
The Electric Vehicles Policy of the Government of India was launched in 2017 with a vision to have at least 30% of vehicles on Indian roads as EVs by 2030. In order to achieve this, the government has been supporting the usage of EVs in the country through various means.
The most important support has been in terms of subsidies that are given to electric vehicle manufacturers and buyers. Listed below are the various subsidies on EVs given by the Government of India.
FAME Scheme
Fame India Scheme 2022 was launched keeping in mind the pollution which was happening due to the vehicles which are operated through diesel and petrol. The first phase of the scheme is already done by the concerned authorities of the Indian government. Now, phase two of the scheme was started under which the Government of India will be giving out 670 electric buses in the states of Maharashtra Goa Gujarat, and Chandigarh and it is also said that 241 charging stations will be provided in on the streets of Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Gujarat, and Port Blair. This will help in the development of the areas with electrical vehicles.
The Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme was launched in 2015 which aimed at encouraging adoption of eco-friendly vehicles by offering incentives on electric and hybrid vehicles. The scheme was extended up to March 2019 with an outlay of Rs 5,500 crore, out of which Rs 1,000 crore were reserved for two-wheelers.
However, the amount isn’t allocated based on the price or type of vehicle but the battery capacity. That means higher incentives go to buses and commercial vehicles compared to cars and two-wheelers. Under FAME, the government offers an incentive ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 for 2-wheelers with battery capacity less than 3 KWh, up to Rs 22,000 for 2-wheeler with battery capacity between 3 KWh and 9 KWh.
Fame India Scheme Extended Till 2024
The Government of India has launched the FAME II scheme to promote electric mobility. It is an acronym for Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide subsidies on the purchase of new electric vehicles. The government has extended the FAME II scheme for 2 years. Now, this scheme will be applicable till 31st March 2024. Previously this scheme was launched from 2019 to 31st March 2022. Under this scheme, necessary charging infrastructure will also be set up for electric vehicles. Fame India scheme has been launched with the objective to address the issue of environmental pollution and fuel depletion. Under this scheme, the government has also increased the subsidy incentives from Rs 10000 per kWh to Rs 15000 per kWh.
Sales Of Vehicle Under Fame India Scheme
As of 26 June 2021, 78045 total electric vehicles have been sold through the Fame India scheme which includes 59984 electric two-wheelers, 16499 electric three-wheelers, and 1562 electric four-wheelers. The government has allocated a budget of Rs 10000 crore for the implementation of this scheme. Only 5% of the budget amount is used till now i.e. Rs 500 Crore. In terms of sales 58613 electric two-wheelers have been sold till March 2022. The target was to sell 10 lakh units so the government has decided to extend this scheme till 2024.

India Electric Scooter Market Trends, Analysis, 2022-2028
A recent study conducted by the strategic consulting and market research firm, BlueWeave Consulting, revealed that the India electric scooter market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 35% during 2022-2028. The growing popularity of electric scooters can be attributed to citizens' growing awareness of carbon emissions and sustainability, which is driving them to switch to electric transportation. The India electric scooter market is expected to have attractive development prospects in the projected period due to favorable government efforts and private-public investments in the construction of additional charging points at strategic places.
Establishment Of New Charging Points is Propelling the Growth of the Market
The central and state government as well as industry players are making major investments to increase the number of charging stations in the country. This is expected to be a major element in increasing the popularity of electric scooters among the general public. For instance, HeroMotoCorp recently announced its partnership with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited to set up charging infrastructure for electric vehicles across India.

Launch Of New and Innovative Products is Driving Electric Scooter Market
Companies are continually developing new goods to entice customers, owing to expanding demand for electric scooters and increased competition among players. They are heavily investing in research and development in order to improve their electric scooters and gain a competitive advantage. For instance, Okinawa Autotech announced the launch of its electric scooter Okhi 90 which is expected to range between INR 100K and INR 120K. (approx USD 1300).
India Electric Scooter Market - By Battery Type
Based on battery type, the India electric scooter market is segmented into sealed lead acid, NiMh, and li-Ion. Because sealed lead-acid batteries provide more power and energy per KWH, they have the biggest market share. SLA batteries are also more dependable and have a longer life cycle, making them more cost-effective. However, because of its higher energy density, voltage capacity, and lower self-discharge rate, the Li-ion battery category is expected to grow at the fastest rate throughout the projection period.
India Electric Scooter Market - Regional Insights
Geographically, the India electric scooter market is segmented into North India, South India, East India, and West India. Western India accounts for the largest market share because of the favorable incentives the government of the states like Maharashtra and Gujarat offer. Maharashtra, for instance, offers an incentive of INR 5000 per kWh (approx USD 65.65) of their battery capacity while the maximum subsidy amount has been capped at INR 25,000 (approx USD 328). These incentives are promoting the use of electric scooters among consumers in West India.
Impact of COVID-19 on India Electric Scooter Market
The unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak halted the expansion of India's electric scooter market. Due to the lockdown, limitations on non-essential economic operations such as car production and industrial activities were halted. Electric scooter manufacturers were also forced to temporarily halt their manufacturing operations. Furthermore, restrictions on distribution and supply chains, as well as mobility, to prevent virus transmission, had a direct influence on electric scooter sales, resulting in significant market losses. However, the market is expected to recover slowly throughout the projection period.
Competitive Landscape
The leading market players of the India electric scooter market are Ather Energy, Revolt Motors, Bajaj Auto Yo-Bykes, Ampere, TVS Motor Company, Hero Electric, Okinawa Autotech, Ultraviolette Automotive, Gemopia Electric, Ola Electric, Simple Energy, And Other Prominent Players.
With the existence of multiple global firms as well as small mobility startups, the market is tremendously fragmented. In terms of offers, regional entrepreneurs are giving tough competition to multinational corporations. Companies are working on growing their target market and extending outside geographical limits, thus they are introducing items in other nations. In addition, in this industry, competitive techniques such as partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and so on are common.

Why Are Electric Cars Better Than Conventional Fuel Cars?
Tumblr media
Electric vehicles in India One of the many ways to jump on the ‘Go Green’ bandwagon is to opt for electric cars over conventional fuel cars. Electric vehicles or EVs are those that are either fully or partially powered by electric power. This article lists down the various government norms around electric vehicles, subsidies that come from using one, information around electric car insurance and more.
To boost the adoption of electric vehicles, the Government of India (GOI) has formulated different policies at the centre and state level. The most popular policies around EVs include the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme and the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020.
Besides these, 10 states in India have final or draft EV policies in place. These states include New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. The state EV policies largely prioritise two and three-wheelers, public transportation, and job creation. But they differ from each other in terms of targets and demand and supply incentives.
*Using an electric vehicle comes with various benefits. *
1. Cheaper alternative to fuel-based cars: With fuel prices hitting the roof, driving a fuel-based car could burn a hole in your pockets. However, electric cars can entirely run on the power they get from a few hours of charging. In fact, when calculated on a cost-per-mile basis, a 100% electric car may cost you a quarter or even lesser than what a conventional fuel-based car might cost you.
2. Cheaper to maintain: With the government offering various tax benefits and the need for reduced maintenance requirements – the cost of running an electric vehicle is significantly cheaper when compared to the traditional fuel-based cars. Considering only 3 components power an electric vehicle - on-board charger, inverter, and motor – there is less wear and tear and therefore a reduced need for maintenance.
3. Enjoyable driving experience: Those making a switch from a fuel-based car to an electric vehicle will very distinctly notice the quietness an EV brings along. This makes the driving experience a quiet and enjoyable one. Electric vehicles also have instant torque, allowing power to rest at your fingertips. Hitting your EV’s accelerator will get you an instant surge of speed, making the electric car ideal for city driving.
4. Environment-friendly: The biggest advantage of an electric vehicle is its eco-friendly technology. Electric vehicles emit zero toxic gases, which means reduced greenhouse gases. Also, electric cars are much quieter and can therefore curb noise pollution.
5. Easy to charge: Charging your electric vehicle is just like charging any of your other electronic devices. All you need to do is plug your vehicle into a charger connected to an electric grid. So, you can forget all about running to a gas station to refuel your vehicle before hitting the road.
Insurance for electric cars
As per the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, it is mandatory for all cars to have a third-party car insurance cover. This rule stays irrespective of the car type - electric or fuel-based. Currently, there is no separate 4-wheeler car insurance for e-vehicles. This means you will have to buy the same insurance as you would for any other fuel-based car.
However, this scenario is all set to undergo a change. But with the demand for electric cars in India slowly rising, insurance providers are developing customised insurance solutions primarily for EVs. Also, to promote the use of electric vehicles, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has decided to incentivise electric car owners. For instance, with effect from June 16th, 2019, third-party insurance for EVs electric cars comes at a 15% lower cost as compared to fuel-based cars. Certain state governments have also announced tax benefits on the registration of electric cars.
If you wish to buy insurance for your car quickly and from the comfort of your home, you can simply buy car insurance online. You can also get a car policy renewal in case of an expired policy. But make sure you compare the quote for car insurance plans currently available in the market and buy a policy that suits your vehicle the best. Choose an insurance provider that offers your money’s worth. For instance, TATA AIG car insurance policies provide you with various add-on coverages for every component of your vehicle.

The Best Side of electric cars in india
A lately posted study claimed that Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and a lot of Other individuals topped the listing of the whole world’s most polluted towns. Whilst at just one stop some world leaders are unsuccessful to recognise climate modify as a real dilemma, India’s action to provide only Electric Cars by 2030 will show being a boon with the surroundings. But will the place satisfy the deadline continues to be to be observed. The report proposes a 15-calendar year approach for earning the change that can commence by limiting the registration of typical autos through public lotteries, and enhance that that has a preferential registration for electric autos, similar to insurance policies adopted in China. But that has not dampened the car brands' hopes in India. Actually, the Government of India also thinks that electric motor vehicles are the long run and just lately unveiled its goal to possess an all-electric motor vehicle fleet while in the state by 2030. While this is very ambitious, for now, we happen to be looking at Progressively more carmaker moving into the hybrid and electric car or truck space and Here's a list of the best hybrid and electric cars readily available in India. Hello there, I desire for to subscribe for this Web-site to just take most recent updates, Consequently in which can i do it This is the second electric motor vehicle for that Indian auto current market. Tata Tigor EV is predicated on the identical drivetrain like the Tiago. This compact sedan is the initial one which has gone through right output. NEW DELHI: India is investigating getting an all-electric automobile fleet by 2030 using an Convey aim of lowering the gasoline import bill and working cost of autos. "We are going to introduce electric autos in an exceedingly large way. We are going to make electric autos self- adequate like UJALA. The thought is always that by 2030, not only one petrol or diesel vehicle read more ought to be offered while in the place," Electric power minister Piyush Goyal explained though addressing the CII Annual Session 2017. Tata Motors stunned Every person by bagging the 10,000-cars order within the Electricity Effectiveness Providers Limited (EESL) recently. The carmaker could well be providing the Tata Tigor electric autos below this contract. It can be rumoured which the electric sedan can get an 85 kW electric motor and may weigh 200kg under the regular sedan. Do allow us to know within the opinions section if there are many other electric cars that you think that ought to have been a component of the slideshow. But arrive 2018, India will see a aspiration rolling out to the roadways. A Utopian idea will hit the ground being a practical, interesting and enduring choice. The Tata Motors is on its way to make historical past. It's got rolled out the main batch of Tigor EV out of its Sanand factory in Gujarat. These cars will likely be utilized by The federal government in 2018. Tata has gained the tender of ten,000 electric cars floated by Strength Effectiveness Companies Ltd in September 2017. 2018 might be a momentous calendar year in Indian heritage as The federal government—ordinarily found being lagging in new traits and averse to steer by example—will be creating a brand new beginning by acquiring a fleet of electric cars. It could occur a good distance off from carrying on with lumbering, anachronistic Ambassador very well soon after Indians have been driving Considerably Superior cars. There are not many options for buying a thoroughly electric vehicle. For two wheelers, providers like Hero and Avon are a few key vehicle makers that deliver electric automobiles. Would you recommend setting up using a absolutely free platform like WordPress or Select a compensated alternative? There are many alternatives out there that I’m thoroughly overcome .. Any tips? Thanks! Assuming domestic technology ability can be found to demand all Individuals batteries, India has A lot to get from a swap from gasoline. Its economic system, as well as its populace, could be A great deal more healthy. Charging infrastructure for electric cars in India hasn't been completely made nonetheless. There have already been initiatives to setup community charging stations, as in the case of Plugin India facilitated charging stations. Oil bosses declare it’s too early to tell just what the implications of a move faraway from petrol and diesel cars will probably be. Nevertheless, Asia has long been the primary driver of potential oil desire and so developments in India and China is going to be watched very closely.

Top 7 Longest Highways in the World
Have you ever wondered about getting in your car and not stopping for thousands of miles? Well, then this is your lucky day for we are going to explore the longest highways of the world. To spoil it a bit for you and to further fuel your desire to brave the world, let’s just say that even the shortest highway on our list is over 5,000 kilometres long (wink). So, without further ado, let us leap right into it!
7. U.S. Route 20: The United States of America are the ones to kick off this competition with their U.S. Route 20. Passing through a total of twelve states, the highway was first created in 1926 but was further expanded upon in 1940. Running for a massive length of 5,415 kilometres, it is known to be one of the most aesthetic road-experiences in the world – from mountainous regions to thick forests, you will find anything along the way. The states that it runs through are divided into two groups: the Western Section (Oregon, Idaho and Montana) and the Eastern Section (Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts).
6. China National Highway 010: China cannot even pretend to not enter each and every top list. Its China National Highway 010 is testament to the aforementioned statement for its length of 5,700 kilometres is nothing short of outstanding. It is, in fact, the longest highway in China and it runs through the following provinces: Fujian, Zhejiang, Liaoning, Guangdong, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Shandong. If you are on the lookout for it, you should know that many locals only know it as the Tongsan Expressway.
5. Golden Quadrilateral Highway Network: India breaches the bounds of the competition with its gigantic Golden Quadrilateral Highway Network connecting 4 Indian major cities: Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. Other significant metropolises along its length include: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Kanpur, Pune, Surat, Nellore and Guntur. With its length of 5,846 kilometres, it is the largest highway project in India. Costing nearly 9 billion dollars to erect, it was built from scratch between 2001 and 2012. If you happen to not be in the aforementioned cities, know that it runs through the following states: Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, and Delhi.
4. Trans-Canada Highway: Also known as the Transcanadienne, the Trans-Canada Highway runs for an unfathomable length of 8,030 kilometres between the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans. Built between 1950 and 1962 (the same year it was opened), the highway connects the following major cities: Victoria (the western terminus), Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Charlottetown, Fredericton, Moncton, Sydney, and St. John’s (the eastern terminus). What’s interesting about it is that since 2012, you can find electric vehicle charging stations along its length.
3. Trans-Siberian Highway: We have all heard about the Trans-Siberian Railway but few people actually romanticize the Russian highway of the same name. The Trans-Siberian Highway runs for a total length of 11,000 kilometres between St. Petersburg and Vladivostok (from the Baltic Sea section of the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Sea of Japan of the Pacific). Known as AH6 in the Asian Highway Network, the route is comprised of 7 federal sub-section highways.
2. Highway 1: If we are talking about expansive highways, we cannot ignore the Australian juggernaut called Highway 1. With its total length of 14,500 kilometres, it is the longest national highway in the world. Established in 1955, it connects every single one of the Australian states. Carrying more than 1 million passengers each day, it is not only the second-longest highway in the world, but also one of the most heavily-used ones. If you like desert vistas and even some mirages, you might want to brave this one (wink)!
1. Pan American Highway: The uncontested winner of this competition is the juggernaut called the Pan American Highway connecting North America and South America. Running for a total length of 48,000 kilometres, it is listed in the Guinness World Records. If you really want an eye-popping travel-experience, his is the one that you might want to opt for.
Did you enjoy our list?
How many of the aforementioned highways have you braved? Hit the comment section below and tell us all about it!

OUR INSPIRATION FOR MAKING ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGERS
Buying an electric vehicle is the first step towards a greener Earth. But how?
Rising levels of pollution have been frequently making headlines for a while now. If we really look around, everything in our surrounding either contributes to pollution, or has been affected by pollution in some way or the other.
The food we eat and the water we drink are laden with harmful chemicals. Even the air we breathe is contaminated by a slew of harmful gases. But what is the root cause of all of this? The answer is fossil fuels. Today, practically everything runs on fossil fuels. Every industry requires petrochemicals to manufacture any item, ranging from small pins to heavy cargo vehicles.
