To be a Demon King

okay, posting for the first time in months with this thought that came to me in the shower.

disclaimer: this is all almost entirely made up, inspired by some nb spoilers. it's just a fun headcanon that would be cool backstory for a certain character.

so:

diavolo's name isn't actually diavolo.

"diavolo" is the name of the throne's heir, whoever that may be.

when he becomes king, he will be "diaval" (or perhaps diablo) - his father's name.

and when a demon king dies - he has no name.

demon kings are instead entombed and remembered by their monuments in the mausoleum.

the only way for a demon king to retain a name after their death is to make such a mark on the world (and its people) so as to gain an epithet; "diaval angelsbane" or such.

both diavolo's grandfather and great-grandfather never did enough to earn an epithet.

diavolo's father was determined, in his war against the celestial realm, not to join them.

diavolo grew up knowing if he did not change the world, he would not even be remembered.

he doesn't really have a name of his own. "diavolo" was his father's name, when his grandfather was still alive, and it was his grandfather's name as a child, too.

from the very beginning, diavolo knew the only way to have any identity of his own would be to have a truly exceptional vision to put into action.

to be remembered for his rule... to be an exceptional demon king.

dropping in quickly to ramble about my thoughts on afab/amab and gender neutrality before i go write graphic ovi and pass out

people sometimes say "gender neutral" when they mean "ambiguous genitals" - an AFAB reader who doesn't go by she/her or he/him is still technically gender neutral, although it still warrants tagging.

not to be crass in your inbox but as long as you don't specifically say "clit" or "penis" or "vagina" or a euphemism for one of the three that can't apply to features every human has (like "arousal" or "sex" or "hole" etc.), then you're effectively being gender neutral.

ofc when you think about the details, it implies a lot of anal (although generally you keep that ambiguous too, so it can apply to either orifice), which has like omegaverse mpreg energy etc. but skhdfglkhg i'm here for porn not realism.

Huh, that's a really good point 🤔 Nb people can still identify with a reader that has a pussy or dick. I just like to remain as Ambiguous as possible because I know some trans people, or people with trauma, don't like reading about readers who has a dick/pussy, and I try to be inclusive to everybody so anybody and everybody can enjoy my writing!

Also. Elseie. I absolutely love how you said "not to be crass" when there is graphic ovi porn written by you in my inbox lol. I run a porn blog, be as crass as ya like lol

I usually don't write the reader getting off, because 1) I haven't found a good way to write it while being ambiguous. But I do like tbe suggestions of being Vague. Although I found that I kinda suck at writing that and it can across as kinda stilted. 2) I am here to dom and fuck the characters. I do not have Time to write about myself/the reader getting off, Luci needs to get fucked by tentacles, Mammon needs his million orgasms, Levi needs to overstimulated by vibratos, and Belphie needs to be eaten out.

My original thought process when Ovi was brought up was "Well. How will someone with a dick carry the eggs? They still need to go to the bathroom right?" But you are right we're here for porn not realism lol.

My favourite guys are Nanami and Ijichi (he's bulliable, ok?)

the tastes are soooo divergent. i didn't really get all the nanami love until i found out who voiced him in JP

nanami's JP VA is literally the one and only JP VA whose name and voice i recognize. i know him from playing chikage kazama in hakuoki and just. oh my god. his voice is SO low, i swear to god

i watch the dub though so i didn't realize until someone who watched the subs pointed it out to me. i've read a few memorable fics starring him, the nanami fans have taste. i also remember this one particular ijichi fic (who knew he had fans!) that was pretty good.

but it's true... satoru, sukuna, and suguru are my darling boys. i like a little crazy in a man, you know? and then ofc i just love pretty boys, and long haired men.

sukuna wouldn't normally be my type but the tattoos are so unbelievably flattering on his face.

in fairness, though, i also deeply desire to bully these men. oh my god. i have so many drafts sdjhfgklsdhfg i'm dying

anyways i'm glad you're enjoying the series!!! jjk has really got me in its hold and there's soooooo much fic for it out there, i have been reading jjk smut for literally like 3 weeks straight XD

I'm kinda interested in a few but idk if its worth it yknow?? like i like yandere stuff but I'm not heavy on the dark bits and pieces. so is @obeythebutler and @sugarfairychan any good?? like whats good about them if u dont mind answering. i need more good writers to follow.

dasflkhf anon you are MY KIND i typically don't go for the darker stuff too, but i have... my moments, so for me daydreams is 100% worth the follow (and the commissions, whenever she opens them up <3)

@sugarfairychan i suspect is EXACTLY what you're looking for. they write yanderes who are not violent or cruel to their darlings; worshipper type yanderes are very much down their alley and i loooove love love reading it.

@obeythebutler is just an awesome writer all around. i've never been dissatisfied with anything she put on my dash. her yandere stuff is on the older side, and her real gift is for absolutely soul-stripping angst, but her stuff is ALWAYS worth a read,, maybe i should visit her dms and yell about it >.>

@demon-fucking-therapist is probably also worth a gander for her obey me yandere series. it's with a dom!reader - it is dark in the sense that it involves violence/gore/etc, but the reader isn't the victim. it's more of a dark demon romance sort of thing, where acts of violence etc. are just a part of demon culture. She's another writer who's just phenomenal in general, I'd recommend her any day of the week!

@undead-mermanan is also a GREAT follow if you have any interest or even openness towards (humanoid-ish) monsters; they write yanderes a lot of the time, usually ones that are more possessive/animalistic than violent. I loooove the way they incorporate various animal instincts/features into the romance, and their yanderes always feel genuinely affectionate even when they're acting awful.

Rosh (obeythebutler) hasn't revisited yandere stuff much yet, but the others all have ongoing works/post somewhat regularly about yandere stuff!

That being said, since you tend to run in similar circles to me apparently, do you have any good blog suggestions? I need more to follow. ~Naomi

akdsfjghkjgf ALAS I do enjoy tumblr mostly for the discovery through my delicious mutuals reblogging The Good Fic and I don't actually follow that many people. BUT!! i do have reccs!

There's one or two that I follow who aren't super active in the om! scene anymore:

@yandere-daydreams in particular I commissioned once; she's an absolutely amazing writer and writes a TON, too. She goes hard on the horror/dark part of it, and is mostly into genshin rn, but her original works are super enjoyable too!

And @sugarfairychan who is not into om! at all, and in fact writes more for bnha; I found them through their REALLY AMAZING original yandere ideas. They're pretty much on the opposite side of the spectrum compared to what daydreams writes sdkfglhfg

Here are the ones who are relatively active that I know of:

@mimi-the-lucifer-stan I haven't gotten around to yelling at, but they have a really amazing yandere!Diavolo/Reader series going on right now! The last three chapters in particular have been absolutely POPPIN.

@undead-merman I cannot for the life of me remember if you know this one already but these guys are absolutely awesome!! Lots of monsterfucking and the yandere is just the right mix of romance and monsters-not-conforming-to-human-values for me,,, <3

@demon-fucking-therapist is an awesome writer and a great friend; they're writing a yandere!demons series with a dom!reader, so on the lighter side, but I super super enjoy it~

@house-of-laminations is another friend who has started to have more time for tumblr recently! Their stuff is more darkfic than yandere, but they're still into the juicy monster headcanons and ideas (this is their sfw blog, though, you can be horny at them on @purgatory-ho where they write DELICIOUS stuff!!!)

For non-yandere works, I can't recommend @demonfamilytherapist enough,,, demon-fucking-therapist is her main blog skdfghflhg.

@obeythebutler you probably already know but they are absolutely fantastic and write some PHEONOMENAL angst, fluff, all sorts of character interactions

@inhuman-obey-me also writes some really great stuff! Particularly in the Demons Being Demons/Horror/Lore of Devildom department!

Those are all the big ones I can think of that I follow, who also post relatively frequently!! I am sorry if I annoyed any of those ppl with tags, I don't interact with tumblr tagging very much at all,,, the links may 100% be broken or whatever anyways XD

I always have fic recs at the reader - and also I have @librarytt which is where I've reblogged works I really like from some blogs that are now inactive (it was mostly to keep an archive of reblogs to myself, so I didn't have to search through my own works to find fics to re-read).
