Yummy Dinner At El Torero 04/14/2024

Hey everyone! This is Skipper bringing you a glimpse at the yummy dinner we had tonight with our Grandmother. After a fun Sunday afternoon filled with thrift shopping, we stopped over to a local Mexican restaurant here called El Torero for dinner! I ordered nachos, and didn't expect it to be a big serving! It was yummy, but I couldn't even get to eating half of it! Having that along with Mug Root Beer for my beverage made a great dinner tonight! I would definitely order nachos again from there some day. I have enough for movie time tonight.... if I can stay awake for a movie! 🍿 That's all we have for y'all right now! i've got a certain fondness for twin cities--the sort where they should kind of be one city but a river or a push-pull of factors has settled them into two distinct and neighboring characters. it happens a lot with old mill towns in New England, where you have the one side of the river as the industrial place where the actual factories are built and the workers lived, and the other side which tended to be where the farmers and mill owners lived as the fancy place. and the cities end up symbiotic in a lot of ways, with certain things developing in one town and serving both, and often get referred to as one hyphenated place. Lewiston-Auburn. Saco-Biddeford. kind of Boston-Cambridge, but that's not a mill town situation. Kansas City(s). St Louis and Jefferson. The Twin Cities of Minnesota. Fargo-Moorhead. Vancouver and Portland. cities that bump elbows and blend together and define themselves against each other, so you can ask anyone on the street and get a snapshot of this little rivalry but from a distance they're effectively the same place. and i say this with deepest affection and respect and also the understanding that if I said it out loud to a local they'd be fighting words: Glasgow and Edinburgh have those vibes.

The executive director of the North Dakota Republican Party has resigned after less than two weeks on the job following controversy over a series of social media posts denigrating women and Black people, reported KFYR TV on Tuesday.

"I believe the best path forward for the NDGOP is for me to take a different path," said Dave Roetman in a brief statement announcing his resignation. "I wish them all the best."

This comes after extensive reporting at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead documenting Roetman's controversial escapades on X.

According to reporter Rob Port, Roetman made "dozens and dozens of ignorant social media posts," including comments leering at scantily clad or undressed women; jokes about women making sandwiches; and a suggestion that Black people should get out of America and move to Wakanda, the fictional East African kingdom that was the setting for Black Panther.

When the original story broke, Roetman refused to apologize, telling Port, "I am a man who stands by his words."

Generally, state party chairs are content to work behind the scenes out of sight, but are sometimes the focus of colorful scandals. In 2021, former Minnesota GOP director Jennifer Carnahan stepped down amid allegations the organization was full of sexual harassment and bullying, including one of her close associates and party donors being arrested for sex trafficking.

There are clinics in both Fargo and Sioux Falls that are going to have to immediately cease operation, leaving the entirety on the Dakotas without abortion access. 22nd Annual Miracle Ride for Sanford Children’s Hospital features 63 riders | The Mighty 790 KFGO

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) — West Fargo’s Harley Davidson partnered up with Sanford in the Miracle Ride to raise funds and awareness.Organizers say this is the 22nd year of the ride, and it has continued to grow and attract support from the community. The group departed at noon with six stops total, three in the Fargo-Moorhead area and three in the lakes area.The ride ran until 5 pm, and some say this event is near and dear to their hearts.“Um, Pit 66, we had Crooked Halo over in Lake Park and RJ’s across the street. They are a clinic in a trigger state (North Dakota), and they serve many people in the Dakotas and Minnesota. Their location is essential as many people do not have the resources or ability to drive all the way to Mpls/St. Paul in Minnesota.
