Y'all. Probably the most UNIVERSALLY ACCEPTED criticism against grrm is the abundance of gratuitous extreme sexual violence against women in asoiaf. GoT doubled down on that and is endlessly criticized for that. On the ONE (1) INSTANCE where sexual violence was NOT part of a female character's arc in grrm's work, HotD decided to introduce it as a means of giving "nuance" to a story and making a character more sympathetic. And now not only is this not considered a sexist narrative but on top of that you call this an inspired twist ffs I'm gonna eat my hair

Instead of using my photoshop and art skills to do something productive, I edited the scene to actually match up what the storyboard artist originally made

Just finished re-watching the opening scene of s2ep7 of Elementary and I gotta say, the writers must have really wanted to push that Joan × Mycroft agenda on us 'cause let's be honest here, the real Joan would have NEVER smiled and been happy to see him when their whole surprise meeting is right after seeing Sherlock, her very private work-partner and friend and who she used to be a sober companion of and personally know how long it took until he was able to trust the safety of the AA meetings enough to be able to share anything in there, storm out of a AA meeting, clearly distraught, after Mycroft just completely violated both Sherlock's privacy and also his delicate trust in the AA meetings that took him a long time to build and is extremly important for his sobriety

Gonna sweat my leftover tits off in the heat tomorrow, but I'll be doing it while watching Red, White, and Royal Blue.
So.
Also, I tripped onto a "30 things different from the book to the movie" list, and honestly, it made me more excited. I love the book. But I also love when movies from books don't try to recreate every last detail.
So, having spoiled myself for all those changes, I'm very excited. I've got a 300-page book with shenanigans, and now I'm gonna have a 2-hour movie with DIFFERENT shenanigans.
All starring the same dumbasses.
That's rad.

Yes is blog is mostly about Dragon Age at the moment but never forget in the back of my mind I’m always furious about how homophobia made Tomb Raider (2013) to get rid of Sam in all future games. Despite the fact she was the most important character in that game besides Lara and was Lara’s driving force the entire game.

They could have narrowed in more on Ritchie's need to understand teamwork better, and focused on him being a support for the rest of the team, but in his solo episode they narrowed in on the moments where he bends to the random whims of the wealthy diners. They kind of move back into the support-for-the-team function in the finale, but his defining moment in his solo episode was running through downtown to get a rich person some chicago-style pizza because they couldn't hit every restaurant in their visit! Focusing in on the chef's personal desires for making great food and honing their craft helped obscure the class dynamics of opening an expensive restaurant, but then in Ritchie's episode they went out of their way to say: well as long as a rich person goes home a little happier, your life has meaning.
