I feel so sad about Eurovision, honestly. I love to watch it with friends, either in the same room or just texting each other while we watch it. When I was a kid it was one of the few things my family could watch together in harmony.

I love the camp, I love hearing languages I didnt even knew existed. I love getting surprised by weird settings and wild performances. I even love the drama and the tension during the voting, which is weird because I hate competition any other day.

But every year it just gets harder to ignore the hypocresy of it all. It was always there, of course. Not so long ago I've realised the two times my country won, it was during the fascist dictatorship. And the contest was held here and people from other countries came to perform and no one gave a fuck about how bad things were for us. It was 50 years ago, and it happened again 5 years ago when Israel won, and it will happen again and again because those who are up there winning money out of the contest just dont care, and those who do care cant do anything about it, and honestly life is so shitty lately that we all could use some glitter and rainbows for one night.

But this year is just to much. I mean, even if it wasnt as a boycott, I dont think I could watch it and ignore the big blatant lie it has become. All those bitches singing about freedom and peace and love with the words UNITED BY MUSIC all over it. My only hope is that Israel doesnt make it to the final, but at this point if they win the whole thing I wouldnt even be surprised.
