I love writing nature articles but it is oftentimes so fucking depressing. Like I’m researching an animal and every paper is like “this beast is vital to the ecosystem and everything will collapse without it. Their population has declined 99% because companies are intentionally dumping toxic chemicals into their habitat and there’s nothing we can do about it. However, if you want to not feel entirely helpless, you could consider not using pesticides on your lawn” like alright. Great. How am I supposed to spin that so it’s okay to go in a family-friendly small-town newspaper and not make everyone sad as fuck.

I wish we lived in a world where I didn’t have to factor in things like “will this actually make enough money to pay off its own degree and live comfortably in this increasingly expensive world” when making my career choices because I think I would’ve really enjoyed devoting my life to studying entomology or icthyology or something instead of picking a practical but kinda bland field of engineering

#not that you can’t make it as a biologist. it’s just much more limited and not guaranteed in this increasingly expensive world #and also when I originally made the choice I was a suicidally depressed egg who didn’t really think I would have a future #now I have a future it’s just more profitable and less interesting than what I could’ve done #but I’m glad I chose what I did because being a trans woman in a field that already doesn’t make much money would probably suck even more #i hate that I have to care about money #maybe some day in the far future something might happen that will make me choose to go back to school and study what I’m passionate about #i don’t at all hate my field of study. it just puts me in close proximity to business related things that are dreadfully boring and depressi #depressing

The thought just hit me. If eve's biology changed in a way that she is now closer, more conpatible with cybertronian lifeformes. Does that mean that there is a possibility that she could get pregnant with one? Since I'm assuming that the cybertronians in your fic like in canon don't reproduce the same way that organic's due, that would be something unprecedented and It could creat so much drama. The child would be a natural techno-organic being and with eve's biology who knows how it would look or what it would inherit.

What are your thoughts on this?

You're right in your assumption - I am following IDW's reproductive lore where Cybes are born via hotspots like cabbage patch kids. I think it brings an added vibe of desperation. Their planet is dormant/dying, there are no new Cybes to carry on the next generation, and the war is slowly wiping out the species. That nugget of lore comes up in the upcoming book, When Sparks Burn.

As for the pregnancy part, I'll try my best not to inject any personal bias. Pregnancy in fics don't vibe with me. I'm just not a fan. So you're not going to find many pregnancy themes in my fics.

BUT you do have a point, it would be absolutely unprecedented. It would be a whole book itself. A way to reproduce? To bring the Cybertronian race back to full strength? Of course Eve would be in that lab with everyone else trying to find out how it happened, and if it can happen again. Her Autobot friends would be there for her every step of the way, but there would be those who felt it was unnatural. Depending on the sire, they would either be happy, or repulsed. I would also imagine it wouldn't be an easy pregnancy.

But who I would cast as the main villain? Who would love to get his hands on her? All eight of them?

What's your favorite paradox pokemon, and what's a pokemon you'd like to see get the paradox treatment

My favorite paradox pokemon would have to be Slither Wing! Volcarona was already one of my faves, so when I saw a fluffier, more stylized version of it, I was enamored <3

As for who could get a paradox form…

Serious answer: Chandelure! I’ve seen all kinds of cool fanart with them as a paper lantern or something similar, which could work well for a past form, and a future form could have them with an LED bulb controlled by a touch screen interface that doubles as their face when idle. 

Less serious answer: Gardevoir/Gallade should get past paradox forms in which they’re part fighting type and just look like cave people. Ethereal and elegant kirlia evolutions are OUT, they deserve the chance to be feral >:)

A aromantic prince has been turned into a frog

It's a curse only true love can break

So he spends months trying to fall in love, trying to stop being who he is because god dammit he's not a frog either!

After yet another unsuccessful date, he begins to despair for his future which is looking more amphibious by the minute.

A loud noise disturbs his brooding as something comes crashing through the undergrowth. He's barely gotten his little froggy feet underneath him before a tiny (but still quite big if you're a frog!) hand is scooping him into the air.

A little kid sees the frog on the grass.

They grab it before he has the chance to protest and kiss him square on his slimy little head.

He transforms back into a very confused human.

No, this is not a Renesme moment, gross. Not romantic love or even friendship, just the blind joy of a kid who thinks frogs are super cool. The child loves every amphibian she's ever set eyes on, but that doesn't make it any less real. And she grows up to be a biologist who studies frogs, because of course she does. The prince pays her tuition as thanks for returning him to his proper form. She was like 4 years old at the time and doesn't even remember the frog incident - there's just some random rich dude paying for her college because of something she doesn't remember, but she's not complaining because grad school is expensive as heck.
