Okay to keep myself accountable for my projects/diys, I’m making a little checklist that I can tick when I’ve done each task:

Finish embroidery on shoe

Get up to date on my gap year journal

Finish my crocheted jumper (might need more yarn)

Finish non fiction writing project

Draft out a plan for latest writing plan

Start planning future project I have in mind

Write more chapters of my current work

Research for temperature blanket

Finish TBOSAS (I have just under 100 pages)

Get up to date with my book journal

Start Mother’s Day gift

Okay mini life update since I’m about halfway through my gap year….

#so I don’t really know where to start #anyway for the past like 3ish months I’ve been very radio silence :| #mainly because of work #but also I’ve been busy doing uni interviews/prepping for them #I’m very much a person who likes to dedicate their time on something #and give it my undivided attention #so that’s why I’ve been slacking on giving updates and why my drafts keep on building up 💀 #anyway i digress #exciting news I’m going to uni!!!! #and I’m going to do vet med with a foundation year :))) #it’s going to be a long six years #but I’m so excited to start my course #I found out like last week but it took so long #since I did the interview in mid feb and they said I would find out mid March #so when it got past mid march I was loosing hope 😭😭😭 #anyway I’m so relieved that the uni process is over and I can’t wait for september to come #it’s going to be a really big adjustment going from my small city to a pretty big city but I’m sure I’ll cope #some other updates #work still sucks but it’s only for a couple months #then I see if I can talk to my manger about working when I’m on holidays #some other exciting news I’m going travelling in about 3 weeks so I’m very excited about that #and after this I might do one more trip maybe … #gatherrambles #gathertalks #thegapyeardiaries

My school newspaper is finally out, screaming because I can’t believe my article is in it and screaming because my last name was spelt wrong

#okay so the things that’s really funny #is that I’m mentioned in a later article #and my surname was spelt correctly #however no one questioned that my name was spelt two different ways #hey ho #anyway #read through my article #and I can’t believe I wrote it #and submitted #but my headteacher said it was really good and sounded professional #which is a relief #since I thought it was pretty bad #gathertalks

hi!! not sure if you remember but you recommended me rebecca at the start of this year i think? anyways i finally got around to reading it and i loved it (thank u for recommending it omg. it was kinda slow at the start ngl but after a while i felt like i couldnt stop reading it lol. loved the plot twists and that ending)!! are there other similar books or just other book recommendations? once again thank you so muchh <33

Hiii!!! Yes I doo remember, I’m really glad you enjoyed it :). I agree with the start, I think stuff started getting interesting as soon as they got to Manderley - since we get introduced to Jack (Rebecca’s cousin), Mrs Danvers and Beatrice. As soon as we met these characters the narrators doubt in her relationship starts to increase as well as her insecurities - reading her thoughts after all those interactions was when things started heating up!! Now on to book recommendations, I haven’t read a book yet that is similar to Rebecca. The library copy I had of Rebecca compared it to Jane Eyre, I have not read Jane Eyre so I can’t give an opinion. Other book recommendations, my favourite book of the year so far has to be The fountains of Silence by Ruta Septys. I loooooveeeee historical fiction and this book delivered, the writing style was great and the plot was really good (it is also in multiple pov which I reaaaaally enjoy). Other books I’d recommend Book Lovers by Emily Henry, The Secret History by Donna Tartt and Loveless by Emily Oseman. 💖

It has come to my attention that my mocks are in 2 months (or just under). So in order to help myself not procrastinate I’m going to be taking a mini break. Day 2: Currently reading

Reading the first book of the mazer runner series, I’m kind of in a bit of a reading slump at the moment. I’m just reading huge chunks of a book in one sitting then taking a break, so really need to knuckle down and start reading so I can get through some of my summer reads. Really liking the book so far, it’s been a long time since I’ve read a book like this so hopefully it doesn’t disappoint :D

Back to school challenge

So I have been really busy and Ill so I haven’t really posted a lot for this challenge - I was suppose to post yesterday but I fell asleep . Plus I have no perception of time so I thought I was a day or two behind….

Day 2: Did you actually miss college/school? Why?

Haha… this is a really good question and to answer it not really. I missed seeing my friends and learning, since during summer I didn’t have time to see them as I was doing work experience. Those are the only elements I enjoy from school so I didn’t really miss school in a general sense

Day 4: Do you usually have lunch/dinner at your college/school? Show us a pic!

I try my best to make my own lunches since the queue is always so big and the food at school is okay. This week I ate at school I think 2/3 times since I was just lazy but I definitely prefer to make my own lunch since I get to control what I have.

Day 5: Did you meet all your teachers yet? Did you like them?

I have the same teachers as last year with the exception of a new chemistry teacher since the one I had in year 12 went on maternity leave. My teachers are really good and I like all of them a lot.

Day 6: There’s any class you would LOVE to take it but you can’t?

Obviously this late into a levels I can’t really pick up any new subjects but some classes I would have love to take are english lit (I loved reading and analysing so it made sense for me to take it but in the end I didn’t for a really big reason) psychology (I guess I found it interesting but in the end I just didn’t take it not really sure why) spanish (I loved learning Spanish gcse so it would make sense to continue) and english lang (my sixth form doesn’t teach it but another sixth form I looked at did but I didn’t end up going to the second sixth form)

6th of April

Today has just been terrible. Anyway enjoy my chemistry notes.

I decided I’m taking part in @wilstudies challenge, I’m very excited :)

what are you looking forward to this month?

I’m going to a vet practice in about 2 weeks time so I’m excited for that since I’m going to be getting some hands on experience. I’m also going to a theme/amusement park as well with my friends and I think that’s about it.

March was okay, nothing memorable really happened except getting into the finals of this competition but apart from that it was a very relaxing month.

how are you finding your subjects at the moment?

Um…

Maths:

Pure: I can do pure and I find it fairly easy and really like it the only thing that gets me which I find irksome is exponential for the most part you are subbing in and I just can’t do it :,)

Stats: I think stats is definitely my favourite because it’s my strong suit, what we are doing now is quite challenging and has made me have to think (we are doing binomial distribution) but I’m getting better at it.

Mechanics: …

I wish I could leave it at that but I’m rubbish at mechanics, I’m so bad and I just can’t do it I find it the most challenging third of AS maths. It’s just a bunch of physics and I’m not the best at physics.

Biology:

I’m not horrendous at biology I quite like it and it’s definitely my easiest subject: I would say I don’t always do well on the tests but I definitely find the concepts fairly easy and if not after an hour of two of consolidation or asking questions I understand. I think my issue is remembering the content e.g for a test if I don’t remember I’ll just make it up…

Chemistry:

I love chemistry, it’s definitely my favourite out of the three and I’m definitely getting better especially with my graded homework, I have an assessment coming up and I’m fairly competent in the topic so I’m kind of looking forward to it? I’m really good at the maths side of chem I just need to get better at the organic side but I have time for that :)

what initially sparked your interest in the subjects you take?

Honestly I don’t really know I just have the undeniable love for stem and I find it fascinating it’s great.

how do you plan your time? bullet journal, phone memos etc.

In my head. On a serious not I’ll have a rough idea and some times I’ll write it down if it’s weekdays since time available will vary. On weekends I use an app called structured to manage my time as it’s very easy to create a time plan on it.
