I know it's because the only reason the one exists is because the other doesn't appear in AA4 but the sheer wasted potential of Edgeworth not having to challenge his own self-loathing due to the existence of Kristoph makes me fucking crazy...
Edgeworth insists everything corrupt he did while under Manfred's thumb is his own fault, that the little kid his dad raised died when the court didn't convict anyone for Gregory's murder-- he thinks his "demon prosecutor" identity is forged out of that, his own innate beliefs, and that Manfred just gave him the tools to wield those evil impulses to the best of his ability. By the end of the original trilogy, even though the narrative demonstrates Edgeworth believes he's capable of changing his actions, nothing indicates that he's accepted that he had very limited agency over those actions in the first place as demonstrated by how the one time he tried to do the right thing his guardian immediately tried to get him executed for murder.
Cut to Kristoph. Here's this guy who, on the surface, seems like a prototype of everything Miles Edgeworth would be if Manfred didn't raise him. He's overly formal to cover a bitchy sense of humor, very put-together but rattles easily, gayer than a glory hole on Christopher Street-- and a successful defense attorney. Being confronted with the reality of Kristoph would prompt Edgeworth to question: if Gregory had dropped dead when Edgeworth was an adult starting out as a defense attorney, would he have made comparable choices without the threat of Manfred looming? Would he have done anything to reach an equal level of fame to his father? If Gregory had been unfairly executed by the state, would Edgeworth have defended Matt Engarde in a heartbeat, because fuck it, prosecutors are all evil anyway, and exonerating a beloved celebrity would make him famous and successful?
We can't know that (I mean, we can, but Edgeworth would insist we can't know that.) What we do know for sure is this: once Manfred is dead, Edgeworth does lie to the court-- not to help himself, but at great personal risk, to help a loved one. Even so, when he involves his little sibling in the case, he never coerces her into anything. He takes on the risk of a forged identity himself, and only discloses it to her before the court, where he couldn't hurt her if she didn't want to participate. He gives her all the power in the situation, including the power to expose him, if she wants. When she questions him, he does not lie, or twist the facts in order to persuade her. Hell, he asks the judge to let her keep her weapon.
That is not how a certain devil behaved towards his little sibling. It stands to reason that's not how a demon would behave, either.
SOMEBODY POINT THAT OUT TO EDGEWORTH, PLEASE.

I've been thinking a lot about Phoenix's family, and I got carried away so I'm going to put the whole essay below the cut, I'm so normal about him
I'm sorry there's just no way that Phoenix has any sort of normal family situation, not just because they're never mentioned even in passing as he goes through extremely major life events, but also because of how he is as a person. You cannot convince me that the guy who fell head over heels for Dahlia two seconds after meeting her had any sort of reliable support system in his life. When she got arrested the only person he could think about was a guy he hadn't seen since they were both nine instead of any current person who would likely care that he almost got poisoned and arrested for murder.
While I think it would be nice if he had lesbian moms who loved him, it just doesn't quite fit in with what we know about Phoenix. I mean, even in the WAA/WTA the only photograph on display is Zak's, and if there isn't a better person to put on the wall than the biological father of his daughter who abandoned her, that's pretty sad. (though I personally like to think that his portrait was there specifically as a target for things like darts and throwing knives). Plus, we already know from the thing with Dahlia that Phoenix's primary way of dealing with trauma and abusive people is just to pretend nothing happened and force himself to forget about them.
That's not even mentioning this guy's abandonment issues and complete willingness to adopt anyone he finds into his found family with zero hesitation. He meets Ema once for a few days, someone he has no personal connection to, but because she reminded him of Maya he stays in contact with her at some capacity to the point that he keeps her investigative tools with him and can have his name be used to gain her favor. Also, there's that new years art where she gets drunk with the Wright's and Apollo. And there are several more young adults/teenagers like that, he's got that foster kid to foster dad energy.
What I think makes the most sense is either that he was given up for adoption/ was an orphan in the foster care system who was passed around a lot, never getting too attached to one family, which led to his abandonment issues, or that he had a normal family life until something happened that estranged them from him. As a staunch believer in Transmasc Phoenix my thoughts are that he had transphobic parents so when he left for university he cut them off and changed his full name which explains why he is so desperate for emotional connection at that time. He suddenly has no one but a dream to find Miles and a girlfriend whose red flags he's completely blind to.
But honestly, there are so many reasons that people could come up with that would also make sense for his character. Maybe they were emotionally abusive and since everyone around him has dead or horrifically bad parents he's just not going to ever bring it up because who is he to complain when his besties are Maya Fey and Miles Edgeworth. Maybe they were just absent a lot and he had to take care of himself (and perhaps younger siblings) until he just couldn't take it anymore. Maybe they just tried to get him a girlfriend to settle down with one too many times and he just refuses to visit them, not even on holidays like Christmas or new years. It's just fascinating to me that there's absolutely nothing about them, I think there was even one of those little (official?) comics that poked fun at the fact that he doesn't really have parents, he may not even know who they are.
I also stand behind all of the ideas from my Phoenix Family HCs Poll because all of them would be so fun to explore even if some of them are total crack HCs. Tigre is only 16 years older than Phoenix but you can't say it's not possible that he messed around in high school and his girlfriend just gave up the kid for adoption and it would be so funny if Phoenix had to put his own father into prison after he pretended to be him.
In my Fem!Phoenix AU where I'm planning on expounding upon her relationship with the Feys and her own spiritual power (Phoenix does canonically talk to ghosts sometimes), the spirit of Ryunosuke found her and kind of became her imaginary friend who appears sometimes because I love him.
Even the idea of the goddess of law making him as an indestructible little terror on the legal system would be fascinating to expand upon. I would love to read about the whole concept of law being turned into a kind of religion, is she a single omniscient god (is she single?) or is she part of a larger pantheon? What would that mean for Phoenix?
I just can't even fathom that there's something normal going on with Phoenix and his family, I think he should pull an Apollo and secretly have the most batshit family backstory. Just looking at this guy and you know he has some kinds of issues, he was an art/theater major, he's got to be a little bit of that flavor of fucked up.

"Stop! Halt! Cease!" Even as he cried out, the prosecution and judge remained eerily silent, as if they were waiting to see where this all went.
Phoenix gave the man on the witness stand a dry, cutting smile and began to speak, prompting Maya to continue to echo him.
"Those names and more are all on record in the Fey & Co. Law Office. There's also clearly recorded links between scandals, sudden loss in funds, suicides, and Bluecorp's sudden influence in their lives."
"How—?!"
"You might have taken and destroyed the evidence in the Thinker—the ones with your name directly on them—but you didn't get everything. Mia had been building this case for years. She had more evidence than you could have expected."
He looked like an insect pinned to a board. "Please—!"
"I won't release these names to the press because I don't have to. The court stenographer has already noted them down. The public gallery has heard me speak them out loud. Everyone saw you fold like a bad hand of poker. You can't hide that from anyone now."
"I'll do anything—how much?!"
"For what?" Maya asked, the first thing she said herself since Phoenix began listing the names he'd memorized.
"Defend me. You're clever, you've proven it today. Defend me in court when—"
She cut him off. "And you'll give me anything I want?"
"Anything!" The world seemed to narrow in, focusing on her and him and no one else in the world. No Prosecutor Edgeworth, no judge, no Phoenix, no gallery. Just Maya Fey and Redd White.
Just Maya Fey and her justice.
"I want my sister back, you son of a bitch."
hallowed be thy unknown Ch. 3
I like this scene a lot so I drew it as a series of panels comic. Sorry my handwriting is a little bad. Redd White is surprisingly fun to draw. Didn't expect to like it.

Woah woah, okay. So I just finished spirit of justic except for the special episode. Current thoughts from a foggy memory:
realizing this post is super long so it’s under the break, also soj spoilers
Implied that Phoenix and gumshoe correspond on their own when Phoenix mentions something to Edgeworth. When he’s questioned about it he just says something like “I have my sources…” and Edgeworth tells him to inform his source of a paycheck cut.
Even though Athena got a case of her own to do I feel like she didn’t have as strong of a presence and idk man balancing three lawyers kind of a crazy move
I found rayfa oddly charming because of her silly insults
Not utter dogshit but I see why people generally dont like dual Destinies and spirit of justice as much
My mom misses gumshoe
I did not call the queen being powerless like at all
if there’s another ace attorney game I want a dedicated scene about Apollo and Trucy getting told the truth
Hard to pick a favorite case but I think I liked case 2 and turnabout storyteller just bc it was pretty fun. Also can not believe Athena’s case was the super short filler one!
would’ve appreciated more Maya
cannot believe they just added on characters that were never previously mentioned. Oh yeah, there’s a secret fourth group gramarye member. Apollo? He actually has a brother and was left behind by his foster father at about fifteen or so.
Did the archaeologist guy just… steal a bunch of shit from Adrian’s exhibit? He had literally everything. Good god I wonder how he felt about that scroll having gravy on it
on the plane ride back why did Trucy sit (and fall asleep on) Edgeworth instead of idk her father. What did Athena really want to sit there or something. It’s very cute but also why
Actually Maya and Edgeworth should’ve sat next to eachother on the plane so they can debate about plumed punisher. “You gave away your one of a kind steal samurai themed watch FOR A RIPOFF KEYCHAIN” and then he throws her off the plane (personally, of the belief he would throttle ms inmee [not actually])
about that, it’s so funny to me that he ranted about the show to Datz, a guy he just met and is a revolutionary
Need to mention that Edgeworth’s cravat gets attacked by a dog, I don’t even have a comment I just need to iterate that fact
The breakdown scenes were fun and dynamic but idk I didn’t care for them that much
kind of thought they were gonna channel Apollo’s dad Jove fucking justice
It was funnier when I, for a split second, assumed that since nobody knew the name of his father that Apollo chose his last name to be Justice.
just now realizing that Apollo who shares a namesake with the god of music has two musician parents now
I am so happy that the 3d sprites look better than in dual destinies I don’t know if I could take it if they looked like that again
My mom’s favorite character design is Rayfa’s (but her favorite character is Susato who has nothing to do with soj)
Maya should get an “I survived TWO kidnapping” shirt because everyone wants leverage over Phoenix.
From what I saw online before playing the game I thought nahyuta would be super insanely awful, and then they introduce him as a level headed guy. Then I think oh he seems okay, and then he tells Apollo to go to the depths of hell and that he’ll be reincarnated as a piece of shit
When investigating phoenix tells Edgeworth that he think’s he’d like a gaudy house, to which Edgeworth is offended. And then Phoenix makes fun of him for his bright red sports car in his mind.
Would’ve loved a reference to some older characters, like Iris who is just like never brought up again. Anyways, what’s with spirit channeling families and being super fucked up
i am so sorry to say that Apollo looked like really good in that one cg with his hair antenna down (the one where he almost drowned) (not my best moment)
How in the world did Apollo survive as a teenager? If dhurke left him 10 or so years before this he’d be about fifteen? Did he just get dropped off at a boarding school, who the hell took care of him and how did he become a lawyer.
Why didn’t Amara just resume the throne herself? Idk if I totally missed something but isn’t she still a rightful heir
Khura’in spent EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS ON A LIE. THEY WERE DONATIONS. AND FIVE YEARS OF LABOR (Amara’s tomb)
So funny to me that nahyuta drags Ema around everywhere like a little ragdoll back and forth country to country
The pun names in this one were wild 🤪 (suggested emoji)
oh god what if Edgeworth and rayfa were to talk about plumed punisher
Yeah we’re back to this, edgey’s sitting in a rebel hideout with lizards hanging from the ceiling and he watches the plumed punisher??? I kinda forgot the timeline but either Maya is currently kidnapped or dhurke’s in jail “oh okay I’ll stay behind” “let’s turn on the tv” “what the fucj is this”
One time phoenix’s phone went off and I jumped out of my seat because I also have the steal samurai theme as my damn ringtone
I get that it’s just fun sprite stuff but where does nahyuta get all his necklaces? How does his floating ribbon work?
In aa4 with my vague recollection, there’s a scene that kind of made me assume Ace attorney definitely took place in some weird fantasy land that coexisted with real world. (It was something that had to do with the founding fathers? And apollo “yes I know what America is” justice, like they currently don’t live there. It was some exchange during the case where klavier’s guitar blows up). Guess how surprised I was when oh golly now they’re full blown Americans!
since I mentioned aa4 and I already got off track everytime my mom hears that song (which Apollo made his ringtone) she complains about it and gets bad flashbacks. She told me everytime she hears a piano arrangement she thinks about the case. Maybe it wore off by now but it was her version of blue badger
Uendo was my favorite witness
Yeah I don’t think I have anything else to say, what a nice note to it on.
Nope I remembered something, queen ga’ran made me want to use the royal we.

Some Design Tweaks I did recently of the Shipshape Aquarium cast -- from Incredibly minor, to fairly Significant outfit changes 🐟 (These are just my first Concepts, so I may go back and Change things in the Future . I mean, I had no reason to draw Jack Shipley before this LMAO . Will do the Other cases Sometime in the future Most Likely . Sorry that the Image Quality sucks BTW)
Notes are under the Cut for Those who Are Interested:
(All the Aquarium Workers have a similar Blue in their outfits to Tie them together) - Used more Blue in Sasha's design to make it more Aquatic - Has a one piece Bathing suit instead of a Bikini so it can be seen Behind her clothes - Instead of a Skull there is a Devious Orca on the Pirate Hat - Made her shirt Long Sleeved to look more Pirate Like - Vaguely Star-shaped Rip on the Top Left of Sasha's shirt, instead of a Star Print - Gave Sasha a Missing Tooth because. I dunno I just think it Fits her
- Made Marlon's baggy pants into Overalls for that Animal Caretaker Vibe - Gave him a big Belt and a thing to hold his Spyglass on said belt - His earrings are now Fishhooks because . I dunno, Aquarium . - no I didn't forget Marlon's Plaque thing, it's missing ... On Purpose! (Lore) - The Hat is from the Photo of him and Summers (I just liked it Better) - His hair is down like in his Pirate Transformation, because I can - Has those circle Shark bite things? On his arms
- Dr Crab's shirt is only Halfway tucked in like in his Concept art - I assumed he had pockets to stick his Tie into? either way They're there now - And the Grape Pants . Listen . They enhance his outfit Okay . I Had To
- Literally Only changed Deplume's Lipstick to bronze and made her Heels white
- Azura's shirt is No Longer form fitted around her boobs . Because That's Ridiculous - Now Short Sleeved to still keep in contrast with Sasha's shirt - The sash is Blue to keep with the Trend (plus, it looks better than Ourple IMO) - Her Charm is now the same Chain Necklace thing as around Marlon's neck - Charm is on her hip because there was Blank space and Nowhere better to put it - (Might not keep the Charm as a Generic Square but it's just that way For Now) - She has Freckles because I thought it gave off that Sunkissed Pirate look
- Shipley has the Same blue sash as Azura (Just Victim Things) - Made his main coat Blue because the Purple wasn't working . Again - (Kept the Ourple for his Redstache outfit though) - Bandages are now Also on his hands and Aren't offwhite Anymore - Both outfits have the Red Scarf now . No More Edgeworth Cravat 🚫
That's all the changes that I can think of that I made, so uh . Yeah 👍 (Also this isn't me saying I "fixed" them, I Just did this for Fun, and to Also help Differentiate my version of the AA5 Cast from Canon 👻)

😊 — Ace Attorney
There's a bunch of passages I can think of but I'll go with one of my favourites and funniest oneshot ideas. I'm actually planning to publish this one at some point so I'm just gonna give you the pitch I gave my girlfriend wayy back. My views on Phoenix Wright characterization (namely that he is a pro at avoiding his own emotions) are heavily reflected in this one LMAO. The summary: "Miles get asked on a date. Phoenix stress bakes. Lang suffers."
phoenix: *dumping five kilograms of flour into a bowl** maya, brain going a million miles a minute, trying to get a reaction out of him: if they hit it off, do you think miles is going to go home with him? do you think he likes him? phoenix: *dumps five tablespoons of sugar into the bowl* His exact words were- maya and phoenix in creepy sibling unison: "Shi Long Lang Is A Colleague Whose Knowledge And Intuition I Respect Greatly." Maya: Okay but by colleague he could have meant 'a friend' which is basically edgeworth-speak for "I find him hot" and maybe he- Phoenix: *glares and whisks the flour even harder, getting about half the bowl onto the table and the other half on his apron* *cut to miles and shi-long lang on a date* miles, holding up a sheaf of case files while complaining about the poor candlelight: ...this is a date? shi-long: ... miles, beginning to Slightly Panic: like, a date date? shi-long: ……………………….
if you guys like the idea feel free to ask me for more because these idiots live in my head rent free. I need to talk about them to Someone.
Send me an emoji and I'll pitch you one of my WIPs!

let’s be honest it was only a matter of time before i babygirlified an old man
closeups and (many) design notes under the cut :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok design notes time (these r mainly for the narrator bc. well. stanley has an actual physical appearance):
- while thinking of how to design the narrator i got the idea that he took one of the models in the audience for the ending where stanley gives a speech and edited it to make his “human” form
- because of this i wanted to include a bunch of little things that he “got wrong” during the process of mimicking a human. most of them get ironed out when stanley points out how weird they are but some of them stay
- to name a couple, his teeth are all flat- no canines or molars. also his little headset + glasses have nothing that actually attach them to his head. they just Are There. not to mention his interesting fashion sense of tie + turtleneck + blazer (he defends this choice no matter how much stanley laughs at him). he’s just weird enough to be slightly uncanny- it’s an imitation, not the real thing
- since i’m indecisive as hell he’s a bit of a shapeshifter. he actually doesn’t use his physical model in-game a lot and tends to just show up in things. shadows, reflective surfaces, screens, etc. even more often than that he’s just his voice
- bc he plays the guitar in the out of bounds ending i am now convinced that he can play many instruments. that little piano in the memory zone before the first review? yeah he’s there playing that in-game he’s just not visible to you
- designing his hair was SO DIFFICULT i literally went searching thru the tag for inspo and i liked so many different things. after a struggle (you can see a slicked-back attempt in the shadow idea doodle) i eventually decided on the style shown in his main drawing. every time i draw it i fight so hard to make it distinct from miles edgeworth. to make this easier the cowlicks aren’t too pronounced and the larger bang is more of a fringe. it still sometimes looks like miles edgeworth whoops
- some of my favorite fanon design things are the Line™ tie the square glasses and the little gay ass highlight so i knew i had to include them. those were my only definite choices going into this
- once again bc i’m indecisive the narrator can scale his model up or down as he pleases. he prefers to be bigger than stanley but stanley complains that it “makes his proportions weird” because he’s “short-coded” so sometimes he goes to a more human size.
- the narrator being stout just makes sense to me it’s correct in my soul (i actually think i drew him too skinny in most of these. i just didn’t wanna redraw shit bc i am tired but if/when i draw him again he will be less skinny)
- i wanted to work with shape language a lot because the narrator’s whole character is a voice- i wanted to make sure i captured the vibe of some stuffy old writer who has an undeniable silly streak. so he is squares and circles (his tie is the only triangle save for maybe the hair)
- for similar reasons stanley is squares and triangles. felt right
- speaking of stanley his soul patch is a goatee now bc i hate soul patches with a boiling passion. so now it’s a goatee
- i also gave him a little beauty mark by his right eye. i don’t know why i just knew in my heart that it was correct
- stanley uses asl and not bsl because i want to learn asl sososososo bad and this just might be the thing to get me to actually do it. he can project his thoughts to the narrator but he doesn’t like it so he almost always signs

approximately a million years later I have finished aai and also this post so here is The Lawyer Rankings (of whose file clerk I would rather be) (aai took me a long time to play but also I finished it forever ago so like. take these with a grain of salt)
miles: it would be interesting at least, sometimes your boss goes on a trip for a week and gets caught up in like 4 different murder investigations and all of them are absolutely bonkers, so those would be some fascinating documents to skim while you’re filing them. however. not entirely sure about what his job actually consists of at this point so it’s possible that you wouldn’t have much real work. 6/10, I’m not sure he’s like, consistently employed
miles (flashback): I know that I could not fix 20 year old miles edgeworth, especially not as his minimum wage employee whom he does not listen to, but it’s almost tempting to try because wow I’m very sad abt him. however. he’s so smug, is the thing. he needs you to know that he knows more than you and you’re like, dude I’m just trying to scan all of these exhibits I truly do not need to know or care abt your clever courtroom strategy or whatever. also I’m allergic to smug men talking down to me, it makes want to out-pretentious them and that would end badly for both of us. 4/10, which is more than I gave him for the aa3 flashback because 1) he didn’t call anyone a bimbo this time and 2) this one made me so sad
portsman: imagine this scenario: I am portsman’s file clerk, I poke my head into his office to ask if he has a file that someone else needs (he does, and he’s been ignoring my emails because I won’t talk to him about ~the big game that weekend), I get accidentally hit in the face with a baseball because he’s playing catch with himself in his office, I go to hr and I quit immediately and also fill out some workplace injury paperwork. 2/10, annoying and bad to interact with but not quite insufferable enough to go lower
payne: so forgettable that his coworkers can’t be bothered to remember he exists, which is valid but might mean they would also forget you by association, and that could be inconvenient when you’re trying to track down paperwork and schedule meetings. 3/10, no one would take me seriously by extension and I would get annoyed when my emails didn’t get answered
franziska: the international travel is a big plus as long as you get to travel with her, and if not then you get left alone to do your thing a lot of the thing, which is also a plus. however she doesn’t seem like a great boss on account of how she’s still always threatening to cut gumshoe’s pay which I would not enjoy, but at least she’s generally on top of things which makes your job easier. on the other other hand, at least once per post I’m obligated to say that I would simply not want to work for cops and. y’know. interpol prosecutor is like. double cop. 4/10, my pay would probably be low enough without getting cut tyvm
franziska (flashback): absolutely not, I’m taking a strong anti-child labor stance, and also working for a child prodigy would actually realistically mean working for her father which uh. see below. 1/10, sorry fran
manfred von karma: aside from the injustices he’s committed and also just his rancid vibes, he seems like he’d be incredibly unpleasant to work for. asks you to do an impossible task and then when you figure out a way to do it anyway he makes up something to scold you about even though it wasn’t something he’d originally asked for. and god forbid you not have something sent the courts on time even though he’s the one who emailed you the document to print at 4:55 on the day of the deadline when the mail goes out at 4:50. you’re still getting blamed. 0/10, absolutely not, I don’t care what the benefits are
calisto yew: my answer here changes based on whether I know she’s the yatagarasu, because I wouldn’t be able to have any respect for her if I thought she was actually just defending corporations, but if I knew that she was setting up their downfalls I would love to help. however she would probably make fun of me for taking my job too seriously and trying too hard, and she seems like the kind of casually disorganized that would drive me bonkers, so it might not be the greatest work environment. 8/10, as long I know she’s the yataragasu, otherwise 5/10, only if I’m desperate
byrne faraday: again, depends if I know about his extremely cool and valid crimes. aside from that, he seems like a dependable kind of boss who answers your emails and wouldn’t be too strict or mean, and if he needs you to do something that you’ve never done before he’s willing to show you how to do it. 10/10, if I can be the yatagarasu’s file clerk, otherwise 5/10

Well! I finished Ace Attorney: Investigations 1!! What a wild ride.
(Here’s my thoughts from before I started the final case)
As for my CURRENT thoughts on the game, I really liked it overall!! I thought a lot of the stuff it did with the Yatagarasu was REALLY great, I love Kay, and Lang endeared himself to me by the end lol. I like how he’s like. intensely gay and mean but also he cares a lot about his “pack.” Talk about an alpha male. AND KAY IS SO. She’s so silly she’s just trying her best. She really adopted Edgeworth as her dad. And he keeps telling her not to commit crimes but she wants to do crime so so SO bad.
But my FAVORITE part of AAI was Edgeworth’s thoughts on justice and truth. Obviously it relates to his past with Manfred von Karma and how he was taught to be a prosecutor, but also the way he forms his own identity and realizes that some people are above the law, but he still believes that the truth has to come out and stop them. I think it forms a great parallel of sorts to Phoenix in AA4, if that makes any sense. Like, themes of using evidence you’re not supposed to use, how you have to break the rules to win... But also changing the game for the truth.
Also, I think it’s hilarious that it takes place over the course of like, three days tops, and Edgeworth finds what, four or five dead bodies in that time? What bad luck.
A few more spoilery things under the cut
My least favorite thing about the last case was how LONG it took to get Alba. Like it was just over and over and over him denying anything. It wasn’t fun!!! But I understand why they wrote it like that. They needed him to be confident, for him to be a foe who’s near-impossible to take down. But by the time they showed the THIRD contrivance that SUDDENLY gave them more evidence when ALL HOPE SEEMED LOST!!! I felt exhausted. And then it just KEPT. HAPPENING.
Worth it for Edgeworth going “what would [Phoenix Wright] do? Someone who can turn around any situation...” though!!! I loved that!!!
My big issue I guess is that while I was VERY interested in the Yatagarasu case, and how Callisto Yew BECAME SHIH-NA and FUCKED EVERYTHING UP, it felt like the smuggling thing was important, but wasn’t, like, EMOTIONALLY important to me. So while Alba getting caught is a win, I definitely think it took too long, because the big emotional climax for me was Yew getting caught and the GUN BEING HELD TO KAY’S HEAD. Literally so cool.
Still!!! Overall very cool!!!
Also Franziska’s presence in the game is perfect thank you Franziska for being there and being condescending to your “subordinate” Edgeworth.

Capcom’s Official AA Fanclub Surveys - Main Series Edition
Naturally, Capcom’s official AA fanclub site didn't only post surveys about the DGS characters; they published far more of them about the main series characters. It makes sense, as they started the trend before the DGS series had even been conceived.
Back in the old days, they used to hold a survey on Capcom’s official AA fansite every few months where they’d write about the seasonal activities of a handful of characters and ask fans to vote for the funniest/most pleasant/strangest/etc answer.
They stopped doing them in like… 2016? 2017? The original text is lost for good as far as I can tell. Even the wayback machine couldn’t help because the content was password locked and you can’t get past the password wall while remaining in the archived version.
Fortunately, I saved some of my translations of them so I thought I’d share them. Unfortunately, I was doing these translations very casually and only intended to share them with two of my close friends at the time when I did them, so some of them are just summaries rather than proper translations, and I tended to only focus on characters that we personally were interested in or scenarios that we thought were funny or interesting. That means there are parts missing, and because I didn't expect the original text to be wiped off the site I didn't save it so I could go back and fill in the blanks. Sorry about that...
Cut for length!
"Spring is on its way and each of the AA cast members spent their day off in different ways. Who's way of spending their day off sounds the most pleasant?"
Phoenix- he finished unpacking his moving boxes and sorting his seasonal clothing. While he was packing away his ugly pink sweater and such, he happened across the complete works of Shakespeare at the bottom of one of the boxes, got completely absorbed in reading, and ended up abandoning his unpacking.
Mia- She went shopping at a department store for a new summer suit. On her way, she coincidentally ran into Maya, who was on her way to the agency to hang out, but then at some point Maya vanished. Mia tried calling her cell phone but she didn't answer. "Don't tell me she's lost at her age," Mia thought, and began to search for her. She found Maya transfixed by a rooftop Steel Samurai show. It seems that she was both exasperated and relieved.
Maya- she tagged along on Mia's shopping trip, but the second she spied a poster for a rooftop Steel Samurai show, she made a beeline for the roof. She got into a cheering battle with a mean-looking elementary school boy and really enjoyed the show. When the show was over, she reunited with an exasperated looking Mia. She gleefully led Mia to a burger restaurant so they could eat some burgers together.
Edgeworth- he treated himself to a drive along the coast in his red sports car... Well, that was the plan, but then he was pushed by his mentor Von Karma into being the driver for his shopping trip. As a reward for his service, he received a brand new Von Karma style, stylish and flashy summer suit.
Then there's Larry, who dragged Phoenix to a café to hit on its hot owner, and the judge who bought a wig.
"Apollo, Fulbright, Edgeworth, Klavier and Kristoph made visits to a nursery school near the courthouse. Which of them did the most pleasant activity with the children?"
Apollo acted out the story of the “Crying Red Ogre” for the children. Phoenix played the part of the blue ogre, and Apollo was the red ogre, and Apollo’s wailing moved the children to tears too. In a panic over all the crying, they got Trucy to cheer them up with a magic trick in which she made Apollo disappear.
Fulbright: He came dressed in a blinding white costume to teach the children about justice and put on a play. The children gave him thunderous applause... But when Jinxie, who had been forced to play the part of the heroine, saw Fulbright, she thought he was the ghost of an army general, got scared, and slapped a charm on his face.
Edgeworth and Gumshoe: He and Gumshoe were going to reenact the story of Kintarou (an old Japanese fairytale). Franziska handed Edgeworth the Kintarou costume she’d designed (If you've seen Ghibli's Spirited Away, recall what Bou, the giant baby, wears. That's what we're talking about here). Edgeworth fearfully asked “You... expect me to wear this...?” Gumshoe, who had painted his whole body black to play the role of a bear, told him “Of course, sir! It doesn’t fit me!” and shoved Edgeworth out on stage in it. Edgeworth quickly began to reconsider Gumshoe’s salary for next month.
Klavier and Kristoph: Kristoph started giving a boring lecture on the importance of law, and the kids were getting antsy. Seeing this, Klavier came over with his guitar to liven things up, performing a rock style arrangement of the “The Bear Went Over The Mountain". But then he threw in the unnecessary comment of “If any of you scratch the frets of my guitar, I’ll be suing for damage of property, ok?” And they both ended up getting kicked out.
"This survey is about who knows how to enjoy a sunny day at Gourd Lake the best"
Simon: To give Taka some exercise, Blackquill took him and Fulbright (who was on guard duty) out for some falconry. Things were going well until Taka heard something about this mysterious creature “Gourdy,” freaked out, flew into the little shop selling Gourdy merchandise and started making a huge mess. Blackquill and Fulbright gathered Taka up in a panic and hightailed it out of there as fast as they could.
Edgeworth had seen Phoenix home and on his way back passed by Gourd Lake. Just as he was starting to get bad flashbacks... he happened to hear Larry in the middle of a flirting attempt and got dragged in. The woman he was trying to put the moves on was a foreigner, and she and Edgeworth started chatting in her native language. Larry couldn’t understand and was annoyed that Edgeworth was apparently moving in on his target, so he sulked and blew up at Edgeworth.
Athena tried to play matchmaker for Apollo and Juniper, so she told them to meet her in the forest near Gourd Lake so that they would run into each other there and hopefully hit it off. Juniper got there first, expecting to find Athena, but when Apollo showed up, she panicked and hid behind a tree. While she was trying to gather her nerve to go talk to him, he wandered off and she lost sight of him.
Phoenix was at the park and he got caught by Larry who was doing his part time job of selling Samurai Dogs. Larry saw a pretty lady that he wanted to flirt with so he asked Phoenix to mind the shop while he was gone. Business was slow, so he called in all the WAA members to put their full range of skills to use. They seem to have managed to sell them all!
Gumshoe took Missile for a walk in the park. They stopped for a rest and Gumshoe fell asleep, so Missile slipped out of his collar and ran over to where the Samurai Dogs were being sold. He ate them all without Phoenix noticing. Phoenix handed things back over to Larry when he got back and Larry got in huge trouble for losing so much product.
"This survey is talking about how the cast spent their Valentines Day"
Trucy gave Polly chocolate for himself and some for Klavier and asked Apollo to give it to him for her. Klavier wasn’t in court when Apollo went to look for him, though, so he and Phoenix went to the prosecutors’ office together with their chocolate. On their way, though, Apollo found himself getting a lot of strange looks from Themis Legal Academy students.
Ema gave some chocolates to Phoenix to give to Edgeworth because she suddenly got called to a crime scene. Phoenix headed over to the prosecutors’ office but Edgeworth was in court and wasn’t there, so Phoenix waited out in front of the prosecutors’ office with this flashy, girly looking bag of chocolates. Edgeworth’s trial ended up going a long time and Phoenix got a lot of stares as he waited.
Edgeworth was hit by a pollen-filled spring breeze on his way back to the office and suddenly his eyes got all red and itchy and he was left sneezing and sniffling. Phoenix came to talk to him and got quite a surprise when he saw the state Edgeworth’s face was in. The chocolates Ema gave him were in the shape of the Steel Samurai and they made Edgeworth so pleased that it seemed to ease his suffering a little.
Flower Viewing:
Phoenix and Apollo go to the park early to hold flower viewing spots for the WAA members. They see some people from around town that they know who ask them to hold their spots while they go and grab this or that. Phoenix and Apollo do their best to hold those people’s spots and in the process lose their own. They end up begging Edgeworth to let them share his and Klavier’s spot.
White Day:
Because of his painful memories about Valentine’s Day from elementary school, he doesn’t like Valentine’s Day or White Day that much. As a return gift to his beloved daughter, he gave her painstakingly handmade magic panty shaped chocolates. Apparently he forced the ones that didn’t turn out on Edgeworth...
Klavier was holding a ladies only concert, which he invited Trucy to. Phoenix was worried about letting Trucy be out at night by herself, so he sent Apollo along in disguise (as a woman!!). But Klavier saw through Apollo’s disguise easily and to Apollo’s horror, called him up on stage.
Autumn/Moon Viewing:
Phoenix, Edgeworth and Larry went to collect chestnuts together. Larry was too focused on looking for chestnuts and not watching where he was going and fell down the mountain slope. Phoenix had tried to catch Larry but he ended up falling too and spraining his ankle slightly. Edgeworth had to carry Phoenix on his back down the mountain.
Apollo went moon viewing with the rest of the WAA. It turned out into kind of an office party and Apollo had drink after drink while assuring everyone that “I’m fine!” but ended up getting pretty hammered. He proceeded to pass out and Phoenix took care of him.
Obon Festival:
Klavier performed a bonfire festival dance version of the Guitar’s Serenade at the summer festival and Apollo provided the taiko drum backup. He filled the gaps in the taiko drumming with his chords of steel, and it was a very energetic bonfire dance.
Edgeworth noticed the festival going on on his way home from work and decided to have a look. He saw Phoenix selling Samurai Dogs and desperately wanted one, but couldn’t bear the thought of Phoenix finding out that he was a Steel Samurai fan. He hemmed and hawed in front of the festival stall, trying to decide whether to buy one, but they sold out before he could make up his mind.
Phoenix went to the festival with Maya. Larry, who was working the Samurai Dog stand, called them over and forced them to watch the stand while he made a booty call. Phoenix and Maya’s manzai comedy duo style vocal advertising was so successful that they quickly sold out.
Christmas:
Phoenix, Trucy, Athena, Apollo and Pearl all spent the night at the office after their party wrapped up. Phoenix put presents next to the kids' pillows during the night.
Edgeworth grumbled about having to play Santa but dressed up anyway and snuck in at night to bring the younger ones at Phoenix's office some presents. He accidentally ends up sneaking into Phoenix’s room instead.
Apollo wanted to be a good big brother to Trucy and Pearl, so he snuck into their rooms to leave gifts but tripped over something, let out a Chords of Steel volume shout as he fell and ruined the surprise/
Klavier, as a favor to Trucy, snuck in dressed as a Visual Kei style Santa, but he announced his arrival with a rock arrangement of Santa Claus is Coming to Town and got caught and kicked out.
Blackquill had to make a jailbreak in order to play Santa, was chased down and Phoenix woke to find the police surrounding his office.

Trucy and Maya sign Phoenix up for Queer eye after his name is cleared. By the time filming starts he’s decided to study for the bar again and is honestly excited to have some help putting his life back together.
They tear apart his house and drag him for the fact he is wearing socks with sandles and his closet is nothing but sweatshirts and beach clothes. He Does have an old like shakespeare costume in the depths of his closet that Johnathan puts on as well as the Furio Tigre shirt. They check out the magic equipment and Phoenix goes on his proud dad rant about how she’s the light of his life and so talented and he loves her-
Jonathan takes him to the salon for a hair cutting. Under the Beanie his hair got kinda long and gnarly. He didn’t want people to recognize him and even know the idea of it’s still a little anxiety provoking. But he also Wants to look good again and feel confident. Jonathan gives him a scruff trim too and they stop at a goatee. They laugh and Phoenix sends a picture to someone. Oooh your boyfriend? Haha not exactly. They end up going clean shaven tho. As they’re walking out Phoenix stares at his phone and goes. Huh. Maybe we should have kept the goatee.
Antoni asks him what he can cook. He proudly announces he makes the best pancakes. And that he can make a few other things that aren’t blatant depression meals. That what he knows he learned cause he wanted to take care of Trucy but he’s a little ashamed at how often the priority was ‘just make sure she eats something’ because he was too exhausted for more. That he Wants to have this big family dinner with all the people who helped and supported him while he was disbarred. Antoni teaches him how to make a big roast for special occasions and some easier healthy meals for normal days.
Bobby helps him reestablish his house, reducing the clutter that Phoenix has been too tired to clean himself along with making the space more usable to the big groups of family Phoenix wants to be able to host here without embarrassment.
Tan takes him out to get new clothes. Before he does Trucy actually pulls Tan aside and says her uncle already got Daddy a new suit and can we arrange it so Daddy finds it because it’s perfect but Uncle Miles is worried he’s putting the pressure on too hard since Daddy’s already taking the bar exam for him again (again?) and-
Tan gets him a wardrobe that is more presentable and upscale for court/everyday. They ‘find’ a blue suit with a red tie. Phoenix breaks down crying and Tan is Very concerned but - No... I just... I know who made this suit. That jerk. Of course he already had a suit made for me. I love it. It’s perfect.
And Karamo and him talk about how he has all these people he owes so much to now because he couldn’t have done this without them and he doesn’t know how to even start paying them all back and honestly he was such a bastard these last few years and he’s not even sure how to stop being that person sometimes even though he Wants to. He wants to be that trusting person that Believes in people again. And maybe they all expect him to go back to being that person and he doesn’t want to disappoint them because he loves them so fucking much especially after they went and did this for him too-
And Karamo stops him and asks him if he saw the video that his family submitted asking them to come help Phoenix. Which he hasn’t.
Daddy gave up everything for me. To make sure I grew up happy and loved and he did. He’s the best Daddy in the world. And I want him to be happy. Just as happy as he’s made me.
Nick’s been there for me, when no one else was. Just. Over and over again. Believed in me when no one else did. Pearl give Trucy the camera and come tell everyone how awesome Nick is. He just needs a little help remembering that. Cause he’s a idiot sometimes.
Wright is... he’s my oldest and dearest friend. He’s brilliant and kind and he saved me. And if there is anything I can do to help him reclaim his proper place in the courtroom I would do it, without hesitation. Once you see him in court you’ll understand exactly why I- Kay. Kay why do you have a camera?!
You said you’d do anything Mr. Edgeworth!
I- what is this about?!
“You know you’re friends better than we do but I don’t think they’re keeping score. And if you really want to show your gratitude, beating yourself up over it isn’t the way to do it. You could start by saying thank you instead.”
“Heh. I told Edgeworth that same thing.”
And they invite the whole Wright family over to the big thank you feast. He’s cleaned up and wearing a nice Dad sweater. He gets dog piled in hugs and then Maya yells at him for not making hamburgers instead. Edgeworth shows up a hour late with a bottle of wine and a faint smile.
“Wright I was lead to believe you purchased a suit recently? If you’re done covering yourself in flour,” I’m gonna cover you in flour. “Would you like to show us.”
“Don’t expose the kids to your suit fetish Edgeworth.”
“That’s not! Wright just-. Put the damn suit on Wright.”
“Hahah yeah okay.”
He does and everyone tells him how great he looks and damn is that a waistcoat? Someone’s grown up. And not just out.
And Edgeworth just watches him with quiet tender eyes as everyone else talks.
“Wright?” Hm? “You’re missing a part.”
“Huh? I got everything! I double- no - Triple checked!”
“You forgot this.” He opens his palm. A shiny golden badge in it. “Congrats on passing the bar exam.”
The episode is a fan favorite.

Hi!! Can i request "please talk to me, it kills me seeing you like this" and "i dont care about anyone else!" for our workaholic boy edgeworth?
"please talk to me, it kills me seeing you like this"
FANDOM: Ace Attorney
Pairing: Miles Edgeworth x Reader
Words: 838
AN:
I was hoping someone would send in one of those for Edgy! I'm super happy to do this for you <3
Also I changed the line to “anything” instead of “anyone” just so it fit more in the oneshot, I hope that’s okay!
Tumblr media
Edgeworth was yet again in his office, working on paperwork and reviewing different case details. He didn’t want to miss out on any details no matter how small. The thing is, he’s been at this for hours now and the day was turning into night.
It’s not the first time Miles has lost track of time like this. Of course, he does set alarms to tell him when to take a break, but he ended up just ignoring them in favor of looking at “one last thing” before pulling open a completely new case.
You, being his assistant, have grown increasingly worried about him. Being a workaholic is one thing, completely neglecting yourself for work is something else. You don’t recall when the last time that he had stood and at least stretched was.
Yet anytime you have told him that he should take a break and move around has been met with, “I will, I just need to do read this first.” and you would let it slide because he’s technically your boss. But the assistant in you was leaving in favor of the partner in your relationship.
“Miles,” you started as you entered his office, holding a glass of water. He’s asked you to get him some tea or coffee before but this time you brought water since you don’t recall when the last time he hydrated was.
He didn’t look up, nor did he even give any inclination that he heard you. You couldn’t help but frown at that. Worry continued to claw at your heart.
“Hey, please talk to me, it kills me seeing you like this,” you said. Your voice raising in hopes that he’d hear you more clearly. He did look up at the pleading tone you had and worry was in his own eyes as he looked startled out of his thoughts.
“[Y/N]? What time is it?” He asked as he looked around. Thankfully, he has plenty of lights in his office so he wasn’t staring in the dark, but the fact that he lost track of time like this still didn’t help.
“It’s late. Almost midnight actually,” you told him. You fought back the frustration in your voice. He doesn’t need that, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to let him off the hook that easily. “Miles, let’s go home. You can continue your work tomorrow. You need a break.”
You saw the frown on his face as he looked back at whatever case he was looking at now. He gave a sigh as he rubbed his temple.
“I am almost done with-”
“I don’t care.” He seemed stunned at your tone. Stunned at the fact that you cut him off. You aren’t mad at him, you’re just so worried.
“[Y/N], are you okay? Have you eaten?” The fact that he was worrying about your health made you want to laugh. How dare he try and care about you when he’s the one that is self sabotaging. “I can give you some money for a taxi and food if you’d like, I just need to finish -”
“No.”
“[Y/N].”
“Don’t ‘[Y/N]’ me. I don’t care about anything else! You have been locked up in here all day. You haven’t eaten. And this isn’t even the first time it’s happened this week!” You had enough of listening to him trying to convince you “five more minutes” or “I’m almost done”.
Miles was just silent as you let out your worries about his recklessness. He was silent as he listened. You let out a sigh as you felt tired from all of the worrying over him.
“I’m sorry for worrying you.” Well that was a start. You just gave a hum as you were too tired to actually give a response. “I didn’t mean to worry you, I just don’t want to miss something vital. Give me five minutes to sort and put these files away and we can go home, alright?” You gave him a look at that, not expecting him to give in so easily. You suppose you could thank Phoenix’s influence with that.
“Okay. But I’m going to help you.” He looked like he wanted to object to that but just gave a nod. The two of you worked in silence as you put the files away and cleared up the office a bit.
“I don’t deserve you,” Miles commented as the two of you were locking up the office, ready to go home. You gave him a small smile at that. “I love you.”
“I love you too, but you need to take better care of yourself.”
“I know and I promise I’ll do better.” You nodded at that. Miles doesn’t go back on his promises so that one gave you hope.
“Okay. Otherwise I’m going to make Gumshoe call you and annoy you to take breaks.” A smile broke out on Mile’s face at that, which caused you to smile as well, despite being completely serious about your threat.
“I will do better.”
“Good.”

remember that one time the artists for pl vs pw tried to give phoenix wright this sultry little number and then they just didn’t. like they gave up on it entirely. how do you miss so hard
mini-rant + og design under the cut (mild dd spoilers because i thought this was a dd design for a solid minute)
Tumblr media
this is the gayest little outfit ever conceived what the fuck is wrong with him
(edit: i was wrong this was actually for pl vs pw but hear me out anyway on dd bc this actually means IM a genius)
ok so i THOUGHT this design stemmed from the dual destinies art book from a plot idea they had for dd where basically there was like…. an Underground Law Ring in Miles Edgeworth’s Los Angeles??? like the dark age of law got so bad EVERY gay person in the area had to start doing illegal law. and because all the gay people and all the lawyers were in the same friend group they made it a masquerade it was quite literally underground anonymous lawyer roleplay with party formal dress code. That being said turns out I completely made that up at some point meaning I have free reign on that idea, so i ask you all to envision this little plot concept with me:
i’ve thought too hard about this guys like don’t give phoenix his badge back, let him participate in the underground law ring, a combination of the two environments (the courtroom and the borscht bowl club) we’ve seen him excel in. set up both the themes of masks literally and metaphorically (for the phantom) while also having apollo and athena doing Real Law, thus the title ‘dual destinies.’ AND GIVE HIM HIS GAY LITTLE OUTFIT he was a theater major!!!!!!! basically what i’m saying is that i completely made it up but im changing dual destinies TO this. i could fix it!! dd is my favorite video game because it is NOT good. that being said i’ve never played it. also trucy wright should’ve played a ginormous role in the metaphor somehow she is missed potential central in canon 💔💔 congrats if you’ve made it this far im crazed, maybe ill make more shit for this knowing now that IM the genius. heart

Vampire AU notes
So I don’t have any more art of this particular AU just yet (I do have some for the other one I have but...we’ll see about that one.) But I did hear some interest in this AU and this is also my writing blog so...notes! And since you are the one who asked @aslightaddity
Here we go! (Also this might be part one because I have a lot of them) Turnabout Vampire, The Vampiric Turnabout, or simply “The Vamp AU” is something that started from the idea “what if every prosecutor was a Vampire?” which I expanded into a full AU with lore that's sort of a melting pot of different vampire canons across media (such as The Witcher and Vampire the Masquerade). Under the cut because this will be quite long. This is also just the overall notes for the moment and I have more going to their powers and more lore related bits, asks are open if you want to hear more and I’ll definitely make another post! (Oh and Spoilers, for most of the games? Specifically Apollo Justice and DGS2?)
 OVERALL NOTES
- Set sometime after when Trials and Tribulations would have happened
- But since Phoenix in this AU quit being a lawyer between when JFA ended and T&T began, the events of T&T outside of the flashback cases didn't happen. At least, not in the way they did in Canon.  Events in the first two games are also different, with Turnabout Goodbyes not happening at all.
- Phoenix is a Private Investigator and a potential part time paranormal investigator in this AU after quitting due to reasons involving a case going wrong. Meaning that Phoenix was a lawyer for around two years, and a PI for about one.
- Phoenix acts somewhere in-between Beanix and regular Phoenix in this AU.
- Phoenix and Edgeworth don't meet in the courtroom in this AU. Miles has been kept under wraps and on a somewhat tight leash for the most part. Phoenix still becomes a lawyer because of a rumour that the "mysterious protégé” under Von Karma"
might
be his childhood best friend. He's never given up on the idea that Miles is alive. He just never meets him in the time he is a lawyer. But he continues because he finds that helping people to be a reward in itself.
  - The main reason he became a PI after quitting is to do with the case that caused him to quite in the first place, the K-Y7 incident. Another part of him being an PI is so he can try to find Miles from a different angle.
- In terms of Edgeworth, he was turned at 21 and has been a vampire for about 5 years. Before that, being raised by Von Karma after DL-6 does still happen. His relationship with Von Karma is different and has already made the steps of growth AA1 and 1-4 gave him on his own. He even sneaks out of the Von Karma mansion, which is how he runs into Phoenix randomly. Phoenix catches him drinking a guys blood in an alleyway .
- Von Karma is much more...violent and angry in this AU. DL-6 turned out to be much more gruesome as both Gregory and Yanni were killed and he took Miles from the crime scene of DL-6 out of pure spite and malice in order to eventually turn his rival's son into a vampire.
He might also have something to do with Phoenix quitting.
As far as the general public knows, Miles Edgeworth has been missing for 15 years. All everyone knows is that there is a protégé under Von Karma, but his name and identity are secret. Until Phoenix runs into him. This is done by him being involved in closely guarded trials organized by Von Karma or by hiding his identity behind a mask ala the Masked Disciple.
- Klavier, Sebastian and Blackquill are all their younger selves in this AU, having only recently been added to the Vampire prosecutor list. They hate it and bond over how much they hate it. Even Sebastian, who with the support of his two friends and eventually Edgeworth has already begun to break away from his father. Klavier and Sebastian knew each other and were good friends at the time they were turned. Being turned at recruited into the office at practically the same time means they are now almost inseparable. Simon, being one of the previous youngest members, was put in charge of the two. At first he was annoyed about being put in charge of two barely week old vampires, but has since become their older brother figure and mentor. They’re all besties.
- Vampires (and by extension Hunters) exist in more places than just the legal system, its just the focus of this AU is the sector of those in the legal system. The Vampiric Prosecutor's office was started and continued by Klint Van Zieks then by Barok Van Zieks and continued from there. Moving from London to LA somewhere along the way but there is still a group in London. Of course, as secretive as the Vampires are, hunters tend to show up around them. There is a  current order of Defence attorneys who are hunters (which isn't every defence attorney to clarify) was originally started by none other than Gregory Edgeworth. But The Order (or at least, some in it such as Kristoph) have become more twisted and corrupt over time. As for what Vampires do outside of Prosecuting? Most things. A good portion of vampires are just. People in the wrong place in the wrong time who were turned by the select few who are definitely living up to the stereotypical evil nature of a Vampire.
 - Kristoph Gavin has his own secret group of Vampire hunters in the Order to wipe out the prosecutor "threat", including his brother. He recruits and takes under his wing a young Apollo Justice (15-16 years old at the time of the AU) as his apprentice and tasks him with hunting down Klavier.
-Van Zieks is still very much alive in this AU, being the Elder Vampire who presides over the vampiric prosecutor's office. Old age has mellowed him out a bit but he's still Van Zieks. He does have a strong dislike for Von Karma and any other prosecutor who cares only for their perfect records rather than the law. Or generally wants to mess with humans.
- A Vampire's appearance and abilities slightly vary from person to person. Some look completely ordinary outside of minor differences such as unnatural eye colour, pale complexion and more pointed ears. Others take on a more monstrous form ranging from visible veins and claws to bat-like features. These tend to occur with the age and growth in power of a vampire, or when they are using their abilities. In terms of abilities, all vampires gain increased endurance, physical strength and speed and reduced aging. Some vampires can teleport, some can turn into a bat and/or mist, some have long claws or some connection to vampiric blood magic. Others can blend and meld into shadow or have a banshee (or black canary) like screech.
(THIS LAST ONE IS DGS2 SPOILERS)         - Kazuma is still alive, by that I mean in modern day. He technically did die on the Burya, or at least was very close to death. But through conspiracy (and them seeing an opportunity to add a new prosecutor to their ranks) they shipped him to VZ and turned him instead, using his supposed death as cover. This saved Kazuma's life, but also turned him into a vampire somewhat against his will. And so, he joined the ranks of the prosecutors first as the Masked Disciple. After the events of DGS2 died down he continued as a prosecutor but rebuilt his relationship with Ryunosuke. He also hates being a vampire because all of his friends have grown old and passed on without him while he's still alive.  -- That’s all for now, any questions or comments are greatly appreciated! And if you want to hear about my other...weirder AU that I love let me know.

I finished playing Ace Attorney: Justice for All today and holy shit... that last case had me at the edge of my seat, I’ll tell you that.
Spoilers under the cut!
The entire final part was amazing. Franziska finally bursting through the door was the triumphant moment I’d been waiting for (because I really felt like I was about to lose it with how much I had to drag that trial out until then; and I kept saying that either Franzi, or Gumshoe, or Maya will have to have a dramatic entrance and save us).
Speaking of Franziska von Karma, I can’t wait to see what character development might be in store for her in the future. I said from the beginning that there must be more to her than it first seems (like there was with Edgeworth) and it seems like that’s the case.
I also really loved the character of Adrian Andrews. When she finally smiled in court in the end, I literally started to cry, no joke. (Also she’s gay AF, I don’t make the rules. What happened to Celeste hurt her so much because she was in love with her. And when she had that speech about “finally accepting herself”... Yeah, that woman’s gay.) I also definitely ship Adrian with Franziska, because Adrian really seemed to believe Franziska and she said in the end that Franzi reached out to her and... yeah.
Speaking of ships... I’m really into Wrightworth, holy shit. I mean, I already was after the first game, but this game gave them even more shippy moments! And then Phoenix brought up the stuff from their childhood again and... Look, I have a weakness for childhood friends to enemies to lovers (and just regular enemies to lovers), okay? It’s THE superior ship dynamic and it’s why I’ve had Catradora brainrot for two years now.
That part in the end where Phoenix was like “words aren’t enough, I have to show him my feelings differently” - obviously the game wants you to present evidence, but I was just like “Yes, kiss him.”
(I really want to write a Catradora Ace Attorney AU with Adora as Phoenix and Catra as Edgeworth someday. Glimmer and Bow would share Maya’s role (with maybe Frosta as Pearl?), Horde Prime would be Manfred von Karma, Scorpia would be Gumshoe, Angella would fit Mia and... maybe Shadow Weaver as Morgan Fey?)
I also think Maya really deserves a break after everything she’s been through. Losing her sister, getting accused of murder (twice), finding out her aunt was conspiring against her, then getting kidnapped and starved... give that girl a break, please.
It was nice to see Edgeworth so concerned about Maya as well. I really need them to be friends. (The reason I hated Edgeworth in the beginning of the first game was because he was trying to get Maya declared guilty, so having him now help save her was good closure on that.)
I’m really caught up in the last case right now, but I’ve got to say I also really loved the second one. The whole mystery air of Kurain village was just my vibe, I love that I figured out the plot-twist on this one, and Mimi Miney was an amazing character and the only one of the real killers so far that I felt genuinely bad for.
The whole circus case was weird, though.
[EDIT: Oh yeah also, one thing I forgot: The funniest moment in the entire game was when Phoenix asked De Killer what his fee is and the judge thought Phoenix was planning to kill him. I was laughing so hard 😂.]
