don is such a fun host! he doesn't want anyone to get hurt, and doesn't push anything 'for the ratings'. and even so, he manages to have a lot of funny, witty moments. of course, chris is still my favorite host, but don definitely cuts it close!... especially because, let's be real, we all forgot anyone else in the universe. the LARPers. definitely some... interesting characters. they're the prime example of total drama's flat and boring personalities, most of which were distributed in pahkitew island. i'm kinda mad that, of all those horribly mid and boring characters, we got the most mid and boring one back. hell i'd have preferred dave there, he'd had given us some substance to the story. i don't even remember the girl's name and i don't wanna google it. forgettable, but definitely annoying for as long as they were on screen.

the tennis rivals. good, but overhyped i think. at least, i've seen a lot of people talk about them and ship them, especially since their cameo in the reboot. i for sure thought they'd last longer because of that. i really liked their banter but they don't come close to my favorites. i will not be calling any of their agents. sorry :(

the geniuses. yeah they definitely existed! i mean their characters were fine and i really don't have anything against them, plus their concept is kinda fun. but i absolutely despise courtney's character and hearing her voice come out of another contestant's mouth made me hate her immediately. Makes me wonder how this plays into the overall themes - he cares about her, but is able to detach from that for what he thinks is the greater good. I wonder if he ever did think about letting go of this plan that seems to be years in the making, considered letting himself find actual fulfillment in being a master and teaching his padawan, only to make himself pull away from it for the good of the overall plan. Versus Sabine going after Ezra no matter what, because saving your loved ones over everything has been baked into Star Wars ever since Luke fucked off to save Han and Leia purely because he cared about them.

This is swimming in something approaching coherency but hasn't quite gotten there yet. I'm just emotional about the wars in the stars again and absolutely fucked up about how much I like Baylan as a character.

so I stopped eating meat, dairy, and eggs nearly seven years ago after my grandma died of Alzheimer's disease. The consumption of those foods has been linked to a higher chance of developing Alzheimer's, due in part to high cholesterol. Now my grandpa on the other side of my family is dying from it as well, and when I went back to visit for the holidays, it broke my heart to see how frail and confused he was, and how bone-tired my mom was from being his primary caretaker and medical POA. She showed me all these Alzheimer prevention cookbooks she'd gotten recently, and was determined to make at least one recipe from them while I was visiting (it was delicious btw. stuffed acorn squash w/ farro and cranberries and other yummy things). My parents kept making a conscious effort to limit their processed sugar intake, too, even though it was, y'know, the holidays.

anyways it just made me sad to see their grief, but also I just love them so much for being so determined to do what they can to lessen the chance that my siblings and I will never have to lose them that way (the amyloid plaques that cause Alzheimer's can start forming in the brain like 20 years before diagnosis, so you gotta be proactive).

GOD anyway the reason I even logged on to post this is that I'm trying to cut back on my processed sugar intake since that's another thing that has been linked to increased likelihood of developing Alzheimer's. I eat a lot of whole plant foods, butttt I also have a fucking massive sweet tooth and definitely have been eating an excessive amount of pop-tarts, cookies, chocolate, candy, etc. So since I got back home after visiting my family for the holidays, I've made an effort to not buy those things and to eat, like, a piece of whole-wheat toast or unsweetened yogurt w/ honey or berries whenever I crave sugar.

And mostly it's working!! But ugh tonight I have like an overwhelming craving to just stuff my face with pop-tarts and oreos :((( don't get me wrong I don't think this is a moral failing on my part or whatever, I'm just so FRUSTRATED GODDD it feels like my brain won't let me stop thinking about sugary treats!!! I fucking hate being dependent on anything, that's why I don't regularly consume caffeine and why I take as few meds as possible (again not passing judgement on anyone else here, before anyone gets twitterbrained on me! this is me voicing my personal preferences on my blog!). So this feeling of "I NEED I NEED I NEED I WILL GO MAD IF I DON'T GET THIS RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW" is driving me up the wall lol. I do have an incredible amount of spite though so I've decided to frame it like Big Sugar is trying to pull a fast one on me, and I will not succumb to their tricks (imo it is a conscious marketing choice for them to include so much processed sugar and high fructose corn syrup in everything cuz they KNOW people are gonna get addicted to it and keep buying more of their product. it's insidious and no i'm not exaggerating).

the hill that i will forever die on is that general & major dental care and orthodontics should be subsidised by the government, if not COMPLETELY FREE/bulk billed/whatever, bc it’s honestly the absolute fucking cornerstone of ur physical, mental, & emotional wellbeing and i MEAN THAT and it’s fucked that people have to pay thousands of dollars for treatments, procedures, hell even just regular check-ups throughout their life, for something that’s so essential, when the government could and should be supporting people financially w this (esp bipoc/homeless/otherwise disadvantaged groups of ppl). like...poor dental health and not getting the appropriate orthodontic treatment can lead to heart disease, tooth loss, impacts your hearing, can impact your vision, can increase your susceptibility to other infections/illnesses, can affect your sleep, the way you bite, chew, talk.... and just even from a cosmetic point of view, it’s normal and okay to want nice-looking teeth! of course it’s completely fine if you don’t have pristine white straight movie-star teeth bc that’s an often-unachievable standard set by the media & society in general, but fuck like... why should i have to pay $8,000+ for braces to fix my bite and help me floss better and fill in some gaps and not feel like garbage whenever i look in the mirror and make it so i can finally stop avoiding smiling with my teeth? and why should my mother have to pay $4,500+ for jawbone procedures to help alleviate her severe sleep apnoea? like why is this shit so fucking expensive? i shouldn’t have to work two goddamn jobs and make less than $35,000 a year and scrimp and save this pittance so that i have a MINIMAL CHANCE at one of the most essential parts of my body being, feeling, and looking healthy

I finished the paper and omg you know how much I cried even before it said what had occurred to him?!!!! That hurt so much! I was so crushed and still recovering wow! Finch is such a beautiful soul, he tried so hard and wanted to live floors than anyone else even when life was hard on him. I am so mad the school system failed him and his parents. Also about the Hating Game movie! I am so excitedddd! The only thing is I am not so into the guy who plays Joshua in the movie and not because of his looks but the tone in his voice!!! It needs more 🌟 SPICE🌟

Ahh you finished it already, that's great! Goddd, I know, the ending is so sad. I was rooting for Finch and it was so heartbreaking reading about his struggles. He's one of my all time favorite book characters. I feel like the author did a good job at describing mental illness and raising awareness. Idk it just made me very emotional.

Yes, the hating game!! Loved the book but I have to admit that Joshua Templeman was not my fave book boyfriend. Maybe that's why I don't mind the casting. (I was so mad when they cast Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen omg he didn't look like the Edward I imagined at all) Lucy Hale looks gorgeous, though! And she's so short in comparison to him which fits the characters description. I'm so excited to watch the movie!!
