XO
(flashbacks in italics)
Nothing was ever Daisy’s fault, was it?
At least, that’s what Graham Dunne thought when he got a call from Karen saying his girl was wasted at a party with Daisy attached to your hip.
She should have known what you were struggling with, she should have known that you couldn’t handle a party, she should have known this wasn’t what you needed. Daisy Jones should’ve fucking known.
To be completely fair, they really all should’ve known. You’d been around since day 1. Everyone knew better, Daisy just happened to be the red corvette.
-
“You can’t keep doing this, my love.” Camilla whispered oh so gently, holding your hair back from your face, pressing a cold rag to your neck.
It was a small gig, at some shitty bar called Tony’s in Pittsburgh. The band always had a couple beers and maybe a shot or two before a show but you had begun to need more. You snuck vodka into your water bottles and begged the bartenders to sneak you a couple free extras by pulling your top down and leaning over the bar, using your forearms to push your tits up.
It worked every time. Pigs.
“Can do whatever I want.” You slurred, cheek pressed to the toilet seat.
But damnit, you knew she was right.
Tony’s wasn’t the first time.
There was Rod’s, and The Ladie’s Room, and The Shiner Saloon, and some girl named Lisa’s 18th birthday party. It was becoming a pattern, everyone could tell.
You always went back to your house after a show. Your parents had been completely absent since you were 15, you never knew where they were. And after every show, their cars were never once in the driveway.
A safespace.
Billy would sit outside of the bathroom, head leaning against the door while Graham waited in the living room, arms crossed and head down, not wanting to listen to your cries and shakes of pain.
Eddie would retreat to the guest room, but he usually wouldn’t be able to fall asleep til he heard the click of your door next to his.
Warren would be passed out on the couch as soon as you all walked through the door, not that he didn’t care about you immensely, but the poor kid could just not stay awake if he was tired.
“I wanna go to bed.” You said.
Camilla sighed, “Are you sure you’re ready?”
You nodded and so did Camilla. She got up to get Billy like she always did, and he’d come and pick you up off of the bathroom floor, as he always did, and carry you to your room and lay you on the bed, letting Camilla make sure you’re comfortable, like she always did.
Graham would come in and ask how you’re doing, like he always did, and he’d make himself comfortable on your floor with throw pillows and spare blankets, like he always did.
But that night, after Tony’s, things changed.
“I can’t do this anymore, Graham.” You whimpered.
Fuck.
This was early days, Graham was still awkward as hell and didn’t know how to go about things like this.
“Do what?” He croaked, mustering up the courage to be there for you.
“This. I can’t live like this. I’m afraid I’m gonna kill myself.”
Graham was up in an instant, reaching for the doorknob. “Do you want me to get Camilla?”
You shook your head, “No, please. Just-” You wiped a tear from your cheek, “Will you just lay with me?”
“Anything.” Graham breathed as he settled into bed next to you. You immediately wrapped your arms around him, being too drunk to care about any awkwardness and Graham was thankful.
“We’ll get you out of this, promise.”
-
That was the last time anybody saw you drink anything besides a beer or two, following that was shirley temples and cherry cokes.
Nobody really knew the heaviness of addiction then, but they knew that you were happier, and that’s all that really mattered to them. You were even laughing at Warren’s jokes and Billy and Eddie’s lame bickering, everything felt okay.
“You don’t drink?” Karen had asked, the first time you properly met in California, while she was digging through the fridge searching for a beer. You shook your head, hoping you weren’t going to get some crazy reaction like you were a zoo animal in a cage like you got from most people.
She just nodded, a small smile playing at her lips as she pulled two coca cola bottles from the fridge, popping them open with her ring and handing you one.
“Cheers to that.”
You were sober enough to realize you were in love with Graham, and confident enough to tell him. And man, he could’ve exploded.
There was a celebration, at the house in Laurel Canyon, just the 7 of you.
Warren recalls later that Graham looked like he’d been dipped in sunshine and rainbows.
“Like he’d just smoked sunshine and been fucked by a rainbow. It was crazy, man.”
Well, almost.
You’d been around the band multiple times while they drank and it was never a problem. You’d have the first round of beers with them then tap out, but you always stayed and had fun, smoked a couple joints and cigarettes, never without a mocktail or coca cola in your hand. Sometimes, usually Karen or Camilla, someone would join you on the sober night, and that always felt really nice.
That night had felt different, you were scared.
-
“I’m gonna fuck him up Warren…” You said as you laid on the floor with the drummer as Down By The Seaside by Led Zeppelin played from the record player, Warren laughed.
“Yeah you are.” He said, his tone suggestive as he bumped his elbow with yours.
You rolled your eyes, fighting the heat creeping into your cheeks. “You know what I mean, man. I’m gonna ruin him.”
Warren had known you long enough and listened to enough of the songs you wrote to where he’d like to think he knew you pretty well.
And you never opened up out of the blue unless you were drunk.
“Have you been drinking?” He asked, not looking up from the ceiling. You scoffed.
“I still have a beer here and there, Warren.”
“You know what I mean, man.” He repeated your words back to you and you felt like you couldn’t breathe.
“I’m going to bed.” You said and stood up, trying your hardest not to stumble or slur.
“Honey…” Warren started, pushing himself off of the floor to try to stop you.
“NO!” You whipped around, flipping your hair so forcefully it stung your face but you were quick to pull it back.
“Don’t fucking- don’t fucking do that, man!” You started, holding a hand up. “My own friends don’t even fucking trust me i’m just constantly babied! Do you know how that feels?”
At that point, Karen, Eddie and Billy had tuned in, being in the kitchen. Camilla and Graham must have been elsewhere, he had always confided in her like a sister.
“Hey–” Billy tried to interject with a hand on your wrist but you were quick to pull away.
“Huh?! Do any of you know how that feels?!” You were borderline screaming now, and everyone was speaking to you so softly, hands slowly trying to grasp you and it made you want to scream even louder.
“How dare you ‘ccuse me of something like that asshole?” You were beginning to slur your words, the tequila you’d snuck from Warren’s room starting to hit pretty heavily, making your eyes droop and words slur.
“Baby, please-” Karen started, making the move to grasp your arm but you turned and lost your balance, nearly falling but Eddie was quick to catch you, he held on tight and didn’t dare let go until you calmed down or Graham came back. Billy had left minutes ago to find him and Camilla, who had taken a walk so he could freely gush about his new girl without the chances of anyone else hearing.
“Need you to calm down, babe.” Eddie whispered, running a hand up and down your arm for comfort.
“None of you even care!”
Warren shook his head alongside Karen, both of them had squatted in front of you, doing their best to provide what you needed.
“That’s not true.”
“I fucking hate you all!”
“You don’t mean that.”
“I don’t wanna be here anymore!”
And then he said your name.
You froze.
He was gonna leave you, you were so sure of it. You worked so hard to be better for him and it didn’t work.
“No…” You whimpered and you swore you saw Graham break in front of your eyes.
“You can’t- you can’t see this.”
But he didn’t care. He knelt in front of you and Eddie and gathered you into his own arms, completely silent as he carried you to his room and you wanted to disappear into him so badly.
“‘M so sorry…” You slurred, and still he was quiet. You let him undress you and replace your pretty top and flared jeans with his own tee shirt and boxer shorts.
You watched as he changed into a similar outfit as you picked at your nails. “Graham, I-”
He sighed and placed his hands on either sides of your cheeks, placing a firm kiss on your forehead that only made you cry harder. You brought your hands up to grip his wrists, not willing to let go of the feeling of his lips on your skin.
“I’ve ruined everything, haven’t I?”
Graham was silent again as he pulled you into his bed with him, covering you both with the large duvet.
“Not in the slightest.”
-
That night was really the last night anybody had seen you get drunk like that.
Then, Daisy Jones came along.
And you learned how to keep bad habits a secret.
Tequila and mints in the bathroom, water and cherry cokes with the band. A shot of jameson to fall asleep. Champagne to wake up, brush your teeth. A beer in the shower after lunch, leave the evidence in Warren’s room since there were hundreds of empty ones anyway.
It’s not like Daisy was teaching you one on one, you just started watching her, and you liked the way she got away with it.
No one told Daisy about your issue either, you could hold your own and you had asked them not to, so lips were sealed.
But it took everything in Graham and Billy not to tell her to tread lightly every time they saw the two of you sneak off on your own.
And now here was Graham Dunne, sitting in the driver's seat of the van outside of God knows who’s house, with Camilla in the passenger’s seat and Billy in the back. Moral support.
“Want us to come with you?”
Graham shook his head. “I need to do this alone.”
Billy scoffed, “I’m not gonna let you go in there with our two hot headed alcoholic rage sisters. Cam, you stay here.”
“Nope, you go I go. You two get our girl, I’ll handle Daisy.”
The three bickered a moment but finally settled on their plan. Graham and Camilla would take you, while Karen and Billy took Daisy, since the blonde girl drove.
“Fucking finally.” Karen exasperated as she saw her friends walk into the backyard of the party while trying her hardest to hold you upright.
“Where is Daisy?” Billy spat immediately, making eyes around the party. You had always been like a sister to him, in the way Camilla was to Graham, and he could’ve killed the redheaded girl in that moment.
“Beats me.” Karen said, passing off your deadweight into Graham, who was quickly supported by Billy. Your head lulled onto your boyfriend's shoulder, recognizing him as a source of comfort even in your inebriated state.
It made his soul ache.
“Is Simone here?” Camilla asked.
Karen shook her head, “Was. Split as soon as she and Daisy got into a fight. Offered to take this one” she nodded her head at you “home with her but I figured it’d be best if you guys came.”
Graham shook his head, “You made the right call, thank you.”
“Yeah, well uh, I sure as hell can’t drive. Got drunk as hell before even stepping foot in the backyard, soon as I saw (Y/n) I stepped in and called you guys immediately.”
“Do we need to get Daisy?”
“That’s a fight you sure as hell don’t wanna have. Yelled at me just for taking ‘her best friend’ away from her to get her some water.”
Billy rolled his eyes.
Graham and Billy began making their way out of the party with you slung around their shoulders, and Camilla walking arm in arm with a very drunk Karen who kept tripping over feet.
And suddenly red hair and sparkling eyes were in front of them.
“Ohhh no, what happened to my girl?” She tried to touch your face but Billy pulled you away, ready to say something before Graham spoke up, surprising everyone.
“Your girl, Daisy?!” His voice boomed, no doubt you’d be embarrassed if you were in any way conscious. “This is my girl, our girl.” He gestured to the rest of the group. “And I’d say it’s in your best interest to leave her the hell alone from now on.”
-
Graham was a mess when he got you home.
Daisy ended up at the house not too long after the rest, explaining she didn’t know the situation, apologizing profusely, informing them all you had been drinking for months. She told them in a sullen voice that you hadn’t been this bad last time she saw her, that she thinks someone must have done it to you.
Graham understood, he did. But he couldn’t look at Daisy. How could she let you out of her sight, to allow someone to do this to you? It made his stomach turn. Billy was next to his brother this time, in the living room, a hand resting on his shoulder, squeezing from time to time, and instead of standing Graham sat with his head in his hands, creating knots in his hair as he ran his fingers through it. Cam and Karen had you in the bathroom, after seeing the panic in Graham’s eyes they decided to take over that part, knowing it wouldn’t be easy for him to see. Warren stayed up, and Eddie didn’t retreat to his room, Daisy paced back and forth outside of the bathroom, biting her nails. Graham could hear it, it was driving him nuts.
“Would it kill you to be quiet for two seconds, Daisy?!” He groaned, running a hand over his red splotchy face.
Everyone knew that Graham was just upset and taking it out on Daisy, the red corvette, which wasn’t exactly fair, but they also knew better than to argue with Graham at that point.
“You know what, Graham?!” Daisy stomped into the living room, planting herself in front of the Dunne brothers with her arms crossed.
Graham didn’t look up.
“Hey, I’m talkin’ to you!” Daisy used her thumb and pointer finger to grip his chin and pull his face up to look at her and she immediately felt guilty at his tear stained cheeks and glassy eyes.
She sighed, and crouched before him.
“I know it’s hard, and I’m so, so sorry this is happening to her. But she makes her own decisions, Graham. No one could’ve stopped her.”
Graham nodded, but still wouldn’t look in her direction. “Will you go check on her, please?”
Daisy would later tell the story with a frown on her face, and she’d recall never being that scared for another person before, despite the smile she put on for Graham.
“I didn’t-” She took a breath, “I’d never seen it that bad before, at least not while I was sober. I thought she was going to die.”
Daisy retreated to yours and Graham’s shared room shortly after discovering she couldn’t stomach staying in that bathroom, deciding to make herself useful by getting the bed ready, fluffing the pillows and retrieving some fresh clothes for you to wear to bed, making sure she grabbed ones that smelled like your boyfriend. She dropped the clothes off in the bathroom, and passed along the message to Graham from Karen and Camilla that it was time to take you to bed.
This had been Billy’s job, since before The Six was even The Six, that’s how it went. But things had changed, Graham had grown, and it was his turn.
part two coming soon!

OKAY, ROMEO — GRAHAM DUNNE
Tumblr media
masterlist
→ pairing: graham dunne x fem!reader
→ description: graham was certain you, in all of your shining y/n glory, could never reciprocate his feelings. you were best friends and he’d decided he’d have to settle for that. but of course he was wrong.
→ warnings: none, just a lil swearing — set pre meeting daisy ! hope this isn’t too sappy and fluffy but i got a lil carried away with it hahahahah
GRAHAM DUNNE (Lead guitarist, The Six): Y/N was just… Just like this breath of fresh air. The minute you met her, it was like you needed to be around her. And that never changed. But I mean, would I have thought she wanted to be with me?
“Why haven’t you just asked her out yet?”
Graham rolled his eyes at his brother, who was quirking his brow across at him as he strummed his guitar to figure out a melody.
He shook his head, “Because I don’t feel like getting my heart ripped out and stomped on by my best friend, maybe?”
He glanced over at where you sat on the couch at the other end of the room, Camila and Karen at your side looking through a photo album that Camila was grasping firmly in her hands as your hands toyed with the camera around your neck.
“Cami is way out of my league, and still somehow we’re here,” Billy smirked, catching her eye for a moment and sending her a jokey wink, to which she giggled as Billy returned his attention to his brother, “You may have a chance.”
You looked up now, following Camila’s gaze but finding your eyes drawn to Graham instead, whose eyes were fixed on you anyway.
Y/N Y/L/N (Friend of The Six): I mean, he never stopped looking at me. Karen used to say it was creepy, but I found it cute. Then again, I did find everything he did cute, I guess. Still do!
You had known The Six pretty much since their inception, and had always been fairly close to each and every one of them. In recent months you and Graham seemed to have gotten closest, though.
You’d spend hours in his room, listening to him practise new Six songs on his guitar, reminding him that he was just as talented as his brother (though if you were truly truthful you’d say he was more talented. Maybe you were biased, though.)
You may not have been in the band, but they all valued your opinion like you were; Like your word was gospel. But none more than Graham.
In the time you’d grown close, you’d found yourself growing increasingly attracted to him. How could you not? But he was the lead guitarist in a band about to hit the big time, so you hardly expected him to want to settle down with his best friend.
If anything, you imagined that seeing Billy settle down would make him want to rebel and do the complete opposite. And you didn’t fancy the heartbreak of getting left behind.
So you just settled for being his best friend — even if he did make it glaringly obvious he felt the same — because, to quote him, you didn’t want your heart ripped out and stomped on by your best friend, whenever it was that you figured he would realise you weren’t enough.
“She feels the same,” Billy put his guitar down for a moment, leaning in to nudge his brother, “Cami said she got it out of her the other day. Just thinks you don’t wanna settle down like me,” Graham noted the strain on his face when he said those words, “And that we’re all going to leave her behind when the album’s out… For some reason.”
Graham furrowed his brows.
He wasn’t sure whether he believed his brother.
GRAHAM DUNNE (Lead guitarist, The Six): Like I said… Why would I? This is Y/N we’re talking about!
Y/N Y/L/N (Friend of The Six): I heard that conversation. Heard Graham tell him he’d never leave me behind. And then I figured, if he’s not going to say anything to me then maybe I should just go ahead and do it.
GRAHAM DUNNE (Lead guitarist, The Six): I remember every fucking minute of the rest of that day.
“Graham,” you smiled over at him, bouncing out of your seat with a grin as you sauntered over to him and he tried desperately not to melt under your gaze, “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
He nodded, practically leaping out of his seat and following you into the next room.
“What’s up?” he asked, a shy smile on his face as his eyes scanned over your features to try and gauge what you wanted to talk about.
“God, this is so awkward,” you giggled, avoiding eye contact at first, “Suddenly regretting my life choices here.”
Graham’s face twisted in confusion for a moment, “You know you can tell— You can tell me anything.”
You bit your lip with a nod, silent for a moment before just fucking going for it, “How do you feel about me?”
“How do I— How do I feel? About you?”
“Like… Do you see me as just your friend?”
“Well, you’re—,” he sighed, looking down at his feet for a second before catching your gaze again and clearing his throat, “No, I don’t. I don’t want to, anyway.”
You fought back the smile threatening to take over your entire face, trying to take in his reply.
“Okay, good.”
“Good?”
“Yeah.”
“Right, good.”
KAREN SIRKO (Keyboardist, The Six): And then he finally fucking got it and kissed her.
WARREN RHODES (Drummer, The Six): We were all listening through the door. Obviously.
Graham’s lips met yours like he feared that if he didn’t kiss you now, he might never again get the chance.
Within milliseconds you were kissing him back, your hands reaching up to tangle in his curly hair as his hands found the small of your back to pull you into him.
You pulled away briefly to shout, “Fuck off!” at your friends — who weren’t trying very hard to be quiet and pretend they weren’t listening in — before leaning back in to Graham’s kiss like it was the most natural action.
“I really like you, Y/N,” Graham panted when you finally parted, eyes raking over your face to search for your reaction, “Like, really like you.”
You smiled up slightly at him, suddenly feeling shy again under his gaze.
“Like I said, good,” you hummed, briefly pecking his lips again with a giggle, “I really like you too. I’ve been waiting for you to say something, but I got tired of waiting. I’ve liked you for fuckin’ ages.”
The smile on his face was a work of art, and you couldn’t help yourself — you clicked on your camera and lifted it to take a photo of the beaming man before you.
He rolled his eyes when you were done, raising his hands to take the camera from you and lift its strap off your neck. He copied you, lifting the camera to his eye and snapping a photo.
As he lowered it he smirked, “In my expert opinion, that’s a good one.”
“Mine’s better. Can’t wait to get it developed and hang it on my wall to stare at when you lot run off on tour, eh?”
Graham scoffed, “It’ll have to be pinned to the wall in your bunk. If you think I—we are going on tour without you, you’re nuts, Y/N.”
You grinned, kissing him again before pulling back shyly, “Are you sure?”
“Y/N, I’d want you there even if it wasn’t as my girl,” the pad of his thumb was on your jaw now, grazing your jawbone as his eyes never left yours for a second, “Buuut, if you’d come along as my girl that would be a hell of a bonus.”
“I’d love that, Dunne.”
“Perfect.”
You were silent for a moment, gazing into each other’s eyes like lovelorn puppies.
“Billy said you were worried I didn’t want to settle down or something,” Graham looked nervous again now, his eyebrows drawing together as he briefly moved back to look at you less closely, “That’s not true. I mean, I’m not saying I’m in a rush to get like, married or anything. But I want to be with you, whatever happens with the band. And if in future…”
“Okay, Romeo,” you giggled, interrupting him and placing your hand on his chest, “I know what you’re saying. And I believe you, don’t worry. Let’s just see what happens, yeah?”
“Yeah. See what happens.”
GRAHAM DUNNE (Lead guitarist, The Six): We did get married.
Y/N Y/L/N (Friend of The Six): I didn’t take his last name. But just after Billy got out of rehab — we didn’t want to do it without him there — we got married. Everything worked out pretty perfect, really.
GRAHAM DUNNE (Lead guitarist, The Six): *Holding up the film photos you took the day you got together* Your Aunt Y/N is the love of my life, kid. Always has been.

Flirting - Graham Dunne Imagine [Daisy Jones & the Six]
Tumblr media
Title: Flirting
Pairing: Graham Dunne X Reader
Word Count: 888 words
Warning(s): none
Summary: In the hopes of getting the attention of some big-time journalist in the music world, Graham tries his hand at some flirting.
Author's Note: I warned y'all that this show was going to be my next hyperfixation. I told you that this would happen.
Might write another part to this.
PART TWO HERE
PART THREE HERE
----------------------
I had started growing tired of going to parties that were just very extravagant ways to make professional connections.
Having fun and enjoying myself had been left so low on my list of priorities that I truly saw no point in going to those annoying events anymore.
I walked straight to the bar in the venue and pulled myself onto a stool.
"Evening!" the bartender said with a smile. I grinned back. "What can I get you?"
I rattled off my order before turning around and looking at the crowd of people. I took my glass off the counter as I did so.
People were so interesting when they needed things. Some of them were confident. It was difficult to tell who was faking it and who wasn't. The key was the eyes. Truly confident people could look their target in the eye. It made me chuckle.
I had been in the music industry for a decent amount of time. I was a journalist but after enough time, anyone could figure most of it out.
I had been lucky. I earned some respect early on. Some of it seemed to grow and snowball, but some of it was balancing on the edge of a cliff. I was constantly fighting to keep my hold on it.
Maybe that's why I had grown so cold to so many people.
Just as I turned around to order another drink, a guy placed himself on the stool next to me.
After telling the bartender what he wanted, he motioned at me, "And I'll buy their next round."
I scoffed. "No..."
I grabbed my wallet and pulled out some cash.
"This should be enough for my drinks and his," I explained. The bartender nodded.
I turned to look at the man that sat next to me.
He was looking down at the counter. "Sorry... was trying to be nice."
"Well, I don't like feeling indebted to anyone," I replied. He slowly nodded.
Our drinks were placed in front of us.
"I just wanted to buy the most attractive person here a drink," he shrugged.
I chuckled. "That line ever work for you?"
"Haven't really tried it before."
"I don't recommend trying it again."
"I'll keep that in mind," he nodded.
I chuckled.
"You're (Y/n), right? (Y/n) (Y/l/n)?"
"Good guess," I leaned my elbow on the bar. I felt like I had already experienced this conversation a million times before.
"I- I've read your work," he explained. His eyes were jumping between my eyes, the counter, and everything else around me. "It's really well written. You... You've helped me understand records that I would never have listened to twice. I think you offer unique perspectives-"
"What's your name," I asked, cutting him off bluntly.
"Graham," he replied. "Graham Dunne."
"What band are you in, Graham Dunne?" I exaggerated a bit as I said his last name.
"We call ourselves the Dunne Brothers- how did you know I was in a band?"
"Two types of people tend to come up to me at events like this," I explained. "I've learned how to sort them out. Overly confident and aggressive: music producer or some other big name at a label. Awkward and uncoordinated: band member, but usually not the lead singer. Either way, goal's usually the same. Sweet talk in my ear until I write what they want me to write."
"That... sounds lonely," he replied.
"Oh, no, don't do that," I said. "Don't pity me. Makes me sick to my stomach."
"I didn't- I didn't mean to... I'm sorry."
"People look at me and see a young person in a position that they don't think I deserve," I shrugged. "To them, I am an easy target. Grow used to it after a while."
"Well, I'm still sorry."
I knew that I wasn't going to get him to drop the topic if I didn't accept the sentiment. "Thanks."
He nodded.
"Now... why did you come up to me?"
He took a deep breath, guilt clearly written on his face. "There's a gig. I have a gig- We have a gig. Tomorrow night."
There it was.
"You want me to write a review of it," I concluded.
"I'd be honored if you did," he offered a soft grin. I nodded slowly.
I don't know what exactly inspired my next actions.
Maybe Graham just seemed different. Something in his eyes was more genuine than anyone that I had met in a while. Maybe he was just better at convincing people to do stuff for him.
Regardless of the reason, I leaned forward, letting my lips brush the shell of his ear while I slid my card under his fingertips. "Call me at this number, we can meet for breakfast, and you can tell me all about that gig you've got."
I leaned back again, biting my lip to avoid chuckling at the stunned look on his face.
"I'll see you around, Graham Dunne."
I stood up and started walking out of the party.
I paused at the door and turned to look at Graham again. He was getting pat on the back and clearly teased by the other people around him. I assumed it was the rest of his band.
I chuckled to myself before going on my way.
This was going to be a very interesting experience.

graham dunne x reader with right person wrong time💔💔
Here's to the Fools Who Dream
pairing: graham dunne x fem!actor reader
a/n: hiii tysm for the request !! when I read this my mind immediately went to La La Land (one of the many classics in the right person wrong time trope) and so I wanted to do something based/inspired by it so if you see a mix of scenes and some dialogue from the movie that's why. anyways hope you enjoy and as always requests are open!!
tw: angst angst angst, cigarette smoking, swearing, kissing, right person wrong time
description: a struggling actor and a guitarist. what can go wrong?
Tumblr media
You first met Graham Dunne out on one of LA’s many beaches, which was coincidentally your favorite surfing beach. And it was one of the most embarrassing experiences of your life.
You had successfully caught a pretty good wave until you felt something weird under one of your feet. So you obviously moved your foot to the side, which resulted with you losing your balance and falling off your board… taking Graham Dunne with you. By the way, that weird thing under your foot was a random piece of seaweed.
“Shit fuck I’m so sorry.” You apologized profusely as you both finally resurfaced, clutching onto your surf boards.
“It’s uh fine. I’m Graham by the way.”
“Y/N.”
“Hey Graham! We gotta go, band practice starts in 30 minutes.” Said a curly haired guy who was lying on one of the beach towels next to a pretty blonde.
“Yeah, be right there. See you around.”
“Yeah.” After he left with his band you sat there contemplating how you could have been such a clutz in front of such an attractive man. And on top of all that you forgot to give him your number. It was idiotic really.
Tumblr media
A few weeks later and you were being dragged to a concert of some band your friends had been obsessed with lately. They had been gushing about the frontman and the drummer for days on end. So you reluctantly followed them since you had already canceled plans the last time due to an audition. Which you didn’t even end up booking!
So you grabbed your drinks and made your way to the table that your friends had taken over, one of the closest to the stage obviously. And imagine your surprise when out walked the cute surfer boy from all those weeks ago.
They were pretty good, you wouldn’t lie. You liked their sound and well, it was a plus that Graham was one of the guitarists. You didn’t realize you had spaced out until your friends were waving at you from the backstage door with big smiles on their faces. You just rolled your eyes at their antics before closing up the tab and going outside to wait by the communal car. And just outside the main door stood Graham, lighting up a cigarette.
“Could I have a light?” You asked as you saddled up to him.
“Uh yeah sure.” He took out his lighter and held it up to you so you could lean in and catch the flame at the tip of your cig. “Wait, I know you from somewhere.”
“If you’re talking about the surf incident then I think we should both agree that never happened.”
“Huh… so why are you here tonight? You aren’t a stalker, are you?”
“God no. I swear that I didn’t even know you were in this band.”
“Then why are you here?”
“My friends have a penchant for dragging me places I would rather not be.”
“Wow now I’m offended.” Graham said with a slight teasing smile on his face.
“Hey now, you know I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Then how did you mean it then?”
“I just have never listened to your band before. If I go to a concert I like to know some of their songs first.”
“Then why did you allow yourself to be dragged here then?” He asked as you both took drags from your corresponding cigarettes.
“I owed them one, I had to cancel last time since I had an audition.”
“Ah so maybe that’s why your face is familiar, you’re an actor. What have I seen you in?”
“Working at the cafe at the Warner Brothers lot most likely.”
“Graham!” A female British voice interrupted your conversation, it was the same blonde from the beach. “We gotta go.”
“Right, sorry to cut this conversation short once again. I’ll see you in the movies, Y/N.” He gave you a charming smile before heading off to join the blonde woman.
You stood outside the venue for a few more minutes, smoking, until your friends arrived all ready to get back home. That was when you realized you hadn’t given him your number once again. Dammit.
Tumblr media
You had taken on one of the busiest shifts at work since your boss had to go to her sister’s baby shower so you were stuck with a barrage of questions about the random things on the menu.
“So is this like all milk chocolate or does it have dark chocolate in it?” A tan girl with twin braids stood in front of you trying to decide what she wanted to order.
“Well it’s a hot chocolate, so you know it comes from a powder…”
“Yes but what kind of chocolate is in the powder?”
“I actually have no idea. Let me go check for you.” You turned around and fumbled around with some jars when you found the hot chocolate one. Taking it down and reading over the ingredients you turned around and were about to answer the lady when you saw an unexpected face.
“Graham?”
“Hey I was just in the neighborhood and thought I’d pop by.”
“Really? How did you bypass the guards?” You leaned down with your elbows on the counter with a smirk on your face.
“Oh I’ve got that famous rockstar privilege.”
“Excuse me!” Right, the hot chocolate lady.
“Do you have a break coming up?”
“Yeah in 10 minutes.”
“Great, I’ll hide in the bathroom then.”
“Oh so you were lying about your rockstar privileges huh?”
“Definitely. I had to jump the fence and run like hell from the guards.” You both laughed as he disappeared in the bathroom.
“So what is in the hot chocolate?”
“It says all milk chocolate.”
“Right… what kinds of tea do you have?”
After 10 minutes of dealing with the most indecisive woman to ever roam the earth you clocked out and met up with Graham outside of the café. He graciously lit up one of your cigarettes as you started to walk around the lot, with all of the chaos that was movie making going around the two of you.
“So how did you get into acting?”
“My aunt I guess. She was with a traveling theater company. Oh god I remember that we used to put on these plays in my living room. She was the one who introduced me to movies. I ended up leaving college after two years and coming here. I probably should have become a lawyer instead.”
“I don’t think the world needs more lawyers.”
“Does it really need more actors?”
“Okay you have a point there.”
“So… how did you get into the band?”
“Well I was trying to get over a girl and then I got my brother to join. We moved out here a few years ago and somehow got Teddy Price to produce us.”
“And how has it been going?”
“Honestly pretty shitty but we’re trying to persevere. We just finished recording something with Daisy Jones which the band is excited for.”
“Wow… actually I have no idea who that is but it sounds big.”
“Not into the rock and roll industry much are you?”
“Well I listen to a lot of everything, but I never really know the specifics.”
“Fair.”
“Hey could you guys just stop there for a second we are about to shoot.” One of the interns from an active set said to the two of you as you turned a corner.
“Yeah totally. You know they shoot movies down my street all the time.”
“Shush.” You said with a little laugh as you bumped your shoulder with his. “Oh my god, wait I love her.”
“I have no idea who that is.”
“Not much into the movie business are you?” You echo back to him as you both walk a bit further down the lot.
“Very funny but no.”
“Well I’ll need to broaden your horizons then. Have you ever watched Rebel Without a Cause?”
“I can’t say that I have.”
“Good cause you’re coming with me to Rialto next Tuesday. Only if you’re free of course.”
“I think I am. It’s a date then.”
“It’s a date. I’ll meet you outside at 6:30.” You gave a smile before you both headed over in the other direction to go to your cars.
Tumblr media
It was Thursday. The day for your date with Graham and you were running late. Okay it wasn’t entirely your fault your stupid ex boyfriend Greg decided it was high time to come and try to get back with you.
So of course you told him to fuck off and basically threatened him that if he ever came near an inch of you you would call the police. That man was like a really bad definition of clingy.
You had sped through the streets of LA trying to make it as quickly as you possibly could to the Rialto. Your roommate had taken the car to visit her parents so the only mode of transportation you had at the moment was your own legs. That was when you heard it. Right as you ran next to a random red car that was stopped on the curb.
“And next up we have one of the newest singles from a band called The Six, featuring Daisy Jones!”
That only spurred you to go faster and when you finally arrived in front of the Rialto there stood a slightly annoyed looking Graham.
“Hi… sorry… I’m-” You tried to say as you kept trying to breathe.
“Hey hey it’s okay.”
“I heard your song on the radio.”
“What?”
“Yup just as I was sprinting over here I heard it over the radio. And I’m sorry I’m late.”
“That’s okay. I got us tickets.” He smiled as you made your way into the movie theater.
“You shouldn’t have. I was the one who invited you and this is my way of introducing you to the magical world of the silver screen.”
“Well I wanted to be a gentleman that’s all.”
“Hmm.” You hummed back to him as you took your seats and watched as the opening credits played out.
Throughout the movie there was a palpable electricity between the two of you. Your fingers kept inching towards his and you could feel the little looks he kept sending you. A small smile crept onto your face as your pinkies entwined… and then Graham took the initiative and joined your hands together. You turned to look at him as he shot you another one of his little looks.
He blushed but gave a charming smile before slowly leaning forward and softly brushing his lips against yours. You reciprocated it eagerly and soon enough you two were kissing like your lives depended on it.
In all honesty you barely watched the rest of the movie. Instead you continued to kiss like two lovers who were finally reunited. Letting the colors of the projector illuminate the different contours of your faces.
Tumblr media
You and Graham had been together for a few months and it was going great. But the other things in your life weren’t doing so well. Your acting career was basically tanking whilst Graham’s band was skyrocketing.
You had met the band a couple of times and they all absolutely adored you, well everyone except Billy but Graham assured you that he didn’t really like anyone anyways. You and Karen got on extremely well and had taken to calling or seeing each other every week, so naturally you saw a lot of Camila as well.
Somehow Graham has gotten you to try writing plays again and so you were currently working on finishing a one woman show whilst the band worked on Aurora. Which you knew was going to be an instant hit. Daisy Jones was a magnetic human being whom you had the pleasure of meeting once or twice whilst you saw the band rehearse.
There was a strange feeling of anxiety though, maybe it was because Graham was starting to come in later and later every night but you convinced yourself it was just the strain that the show was putting on you.
Tumblr media
It was the night of the big show and you anxiously twisted your hands together. Okay you can do this. You can do this. You walked onto the stage just as the bright theatre lights turned on. You took a deep breath and started to recite your lines as you had practiced so many times.
Then it was suddenly all over and just before the audience lights turned on you felt a deep seeded satisfaction. But then light flooded the room and the audience was filled with a sparse amount of people. And the most important person you wanted there wasn’t filling his seat. None of the band was either, other than Camila who was sitting there with a concerned smile and Julia who was happily babbling away.
After you had finished getting changed you carefully packed up all the props and started to carry them to your car. Tears streaking your cheeks as a humourless chuckle left your mouth. There standing in front of your car stood a guilty looking Graham. The same Graham who had barely been calling you back while on tour. The one who had stopped making an effort to see you in a long while.
“Hey look I’m sorry. I swear I wanted to be here but the interview ran late and then I realized-”
“Just stop okay. It’s fine, I get it.”
“Okay great. You ready to head-”
“No, Graham. It’s over.”
“What?”
“It’s over.”
“What is?”
“All of it! I’m done. I am tired of humiliating myself and thinking I’m a good actress. Graham… it’s over. We are over.”
“No wait, what can I do?”
“Graham, I'm going back home.”
“Okay we can talk again tomorrow. I’ll give you some space tonight.”
“No, I mean I’m going back to Vermont. It’s never too late to become a lawyer, you know.” He gave you a sad smile but he nodded after a few moments.
“I hope to see you around, Y/N.”
“Goodbye Graham.”
Tumblr media
Two days later you were sitting in the comfort of your parent’s house playing chess against your dad, when a sharp ring of the doorbell echoed through the house.
“I’ll be right back.” You opened up the distinctive yellow door and guess who stood there on the steps? Graham Dunne.
“Graham?”
“Hey. I umm well I needed to see you.”
“And why’s that?”
“Well for one the band broke up and because Camila told me to relay some big news to you.”
“The band broke up? But you guys were doing incredibly well.”
“Yeah well… anyways Camila wanted me to tell you that she got one of her director friends to come to your play and he was completely blown away by it so he’s offered you a job.”
“WHAT?!” You stood in the doorway of your childhood home with your jaw dropped and it seemed as if your brain had stopped computing.
“Yeah he wanted to have you come in tomorrow so I’ll be picking you up at 10am, not a second later.” He turned to walk back to his car but you tried to go stop him.
“Wait Graham! But…”
“No, no. Not a single word out of you. You better be here at that time or I’m leaving without you.”
“Right, okay.”
“See you tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
The talk with the director went amazingly well and he truly did want you for the role. But it was set in France which meant you had to leave everything you had ever known and loved. Including Graham.
“I think you should go for it.” You two were seated on one of the outcrops that overlooked LA, leaving it spread open like a map for the two of you to decipher.
“But what about you? I just got you back Graham. Fuck I’m so stupid.” You leaned your head on his shoulder as his scent engulfed you. That mixture of cigarettes and the ocean that you knew all too well.
“You’re not stupid, I was being a shitty boyfriend, which is why I think you should go. This is your dream plus I have an idea of my own that I want to start up.”
“Oh and what’s that?”
“I want to open a rock bar near the beach.”
“You should call it The Six.” You said with a giggle.
“Oh shush.”
You spent the rest of that afternoon and evening catching up on life and future plans. Graham ended up convincing you to go to Paris and work on that movie. And you ended up convincing him to name his rock bar ‘The Six’.
“You know I’ll always love you right?” You said to him as you both laid in bed with moonlight streaming in.
“I’m always going to love you too. I’m never going to forget you Y/N.”
“I won’t either.”
Tumblr media
Years later…
“Hi sweetheart, are you ready to go?” You heard the voice of your husband ask as you finished putting on your earrings.
“Almost. Now where is that little munchkin of mine?” You said as you ran into your toddler’s room in a pair of black heels.
“Mama!”
“I’m going to miss you so much kiddo. Thank you so much for this, Sofia.”
“No problem, Mrs. Douglas. I hope you both have fun.”
“Thank you. See you later my darling.” You gave your little Andrea a kiss on her forehead.
“Goodbye kiddo.”
“Bye dada. Bye mama.” She answered as she waved from Sofia’s arms as your husband draped a coat onto your shoulders before tangling your hands together to step into the car.
“So where are we off to, Mike?”
“I was thinking somewhere we couldn’t get recognized.”
“Hmm so no fancy restaurants?”
“Well I thought since you religiously listen to that Aurora album, I would bring you to a rock bar.”
“Now that isn’t a bad idea.” That was when you both drove up to a little bar by the beach, with the logo in the front reading: ‘The Six’.

notes + details that didn't fit into the main story but i thought up:
To make it even sadder Graham wrote Y/N a song, and that's what he sings when he sees her in the bar. I didn't include this bit because it felt natural to have it end where it did but idk I might make a bonus scene in the future.
If anyone was keen enough to notice they would have seen that Mike is actually Michael Douglas. for context: I was thinking up of men to have Y/N married to and looked up famous actors from the 70s and I've always liked Michael Douglas (I love Basic Instinct and Ant Man - I still have to watch Fatal Attraction) so he was like the natural pick.
The change in format from my other djats fics is deliberate. Y/N in this case is barely mentioned in the history of the band and that's mostly because Graham told everyone not to talk about her. plus when Julia asked her, she basically answered that she wasn't too much part of the band to be considered in their story. I like to imagine that like Karen or Daisy would make an offhand comment about it and the reddit stans would speculate so much.

"No, it's okay Warren, you go to bed." Warren scooped you up in his arms, placing you down in the spot next to Graham who had already opened up his blanket for you, then pressed a kiss to your cheek. "I'll leave the door open for you."
You'd spent the last 20 minutes convincing Warren to go to bed while you stayed up in hushed tones, not wanting to alert any of the others to your agreement, but not wanting him feel alone. It was never fun trying to sleep in the new environment that was the LA house, but you and Warren were doing your best to make it through a bad situation, whatever the means. Besides, it was nice to have someone to cuddle up with on the colder nights, even if it was someone else in the house you'd rather be cuddled up with.
You let your head fall to Graham's shoulder as Warren placed you down, who pulled his arm out from between the two of you and wrapped it over the back of the sofa. He allowed you to tangle your legs up in his pyjama covered ones, making sure you were comfortable before he turned his attention back to the tv screen. Maybe he'd one day be brave enough to press a quick, but loving, kiss to your cheeks the way Warren just had.
"You and Warren are sleeping together?" Karen had been the one brave enough to ask, the conversation between the two of you not unnoticed by the rest of the group - it being the only thing to break the silence in the past 40 minutes.
All heads turned to you, attention suddenly on something that had the potential to be more interesting then the rerun of Scooby-doo that had just started. "Not like that." You answered softly, eyes still focused on the cartoon dog and his gang on friends, not noticing how everyone else was now looking at you. "We both just like the company of it. I don't think either of us realised how lonely it would be coming out to LA."
Relief swept through Graham's body, him letting out a breathe he didn't realise he'd been holding in as he waited to hear your answer. Sure, you were much more casual with affection then anyone else he knew was, but with Warren it always seemed like more - he was glad to know it wasn't.
"Cute." Camilla mused, a warm smile curling on her lips as she took in that even in your sleep you were reaching out for the touch and warmth of someone else.
"You're always welcome in my bed, sweet-pea." Karen added, a smile curling on her own lips as she managed to take your attention away from the tv. "I swear you run cold. Would be nice in the LA heat."
"You can't steal my blanket buddy." Graham gasped, pulling you tighter against him and furiously tucking the blanket around the two of you. Your head fell from his shoulder and now pressed against his chest at the movement, the beat of his heart a soft call to sleep beneath you. "She's the perfect amount of cold. The windows open, with the blanket, with y/n is the perfect temperature for me."
A smile curled on your face at the possessiveness behind Graham's words, liking how he sounded when he was referring to you as his and perfect. It was something you could easily get used to hearing more often.
"I'm going to have to pass on that one Karen, unless you want to come down to my room." You countered her offer with a soft smile, attention moving back to the tv once more. "Warren says your room is haunted."
Laughter spread through out the room as you sided with Warren even in his absence; he was so sweet to you, and that's what friends do, so how could you not?
"What?" You asked, laughing yourself. "We left it empty until your arrival for a reason." That caused another round of laughter to break out in the room, everyone enjoying the way the two of you were slowly but surely morphing into one person with the more time you spent confined in the LA rental.
A particularly loud shout of "scoob!" from the TV had everyone's attention turned back to the cartoon, letting the nature of your relationship with Warren lie for at least the time being.
By the end of the third episode, only you, Graham and Eddie remained in the room. Graham and you were fast asleep, his head leaning atop yours, the two of you wrapped in what looked like a tight hug, although the blanket hid your entangled legs, and Eddie was sat in the armchair against the wall, legs curled into the seat and a bottle of warm beer in his hands that he'd been nursing for the last half an hour.
As the intro to the next rerun of Scooby-doo blasted from the TV, Graham startled awake, literally jumping out of his seat and pulling the blanket with him. He grumbled some attempt at what you thought was a goodnight, and went to stumble sleepily out of the room, the warmth of him and the blanket leaving you alone on the couch.
Reaching out for him at the last second, you slipped your fingers through his, intertwining your hands. Shuffling through the room to meet him, you murmured a command of 'sleep' dropping your head against his chest once more.
Graham pulled his arm up to rest over your shoulders, his hand in your hair and scratching at your scalp, lulling you back to sleep exactly where you stood.
"One second." You pleaded, removing yourself from his hold and making your way over to Eddie who opened his arms out to you as you waddled into his side. "Goodnight Ed's." You murmured dreamily, pressing a sweet kiss to his jaw as your couldn't quite reach his cheek now he was stood up.
"Goodnight birdie." He replied, guiding you back into Graham's arms as he left the room, making his own way to bed. Graham wrapped his arms around your shoulder, keeping you as tucked under the blanket as he could give the situation, and began to lead the two of you back to his room.
"This okay?" Graham asked as he guided you into his bed, pulling the duvet back and getting you settled before he tried to do so for himself. "Want to stay nice 'n warm 'n cuddled up with you."
"Yeah, 'course." You hummed, waiting for Graham to get into the bed with you before you wiggled yourself into his arms, intertwining your legs with him just as you had done on the couch moments ago. You tucked your head under his chin, burrowing yourself into the warmth Graham provided in a much easier way then you had done on the couch.
"Goodnight sunshine." Graham whispered, noticing that you'd already dropped asleep with one of his hands tangled in your hair and the other running up and down the length of your back. He pressed a chaste kiss to the crown of your head, smiling into your skin as he closed him eyes. "Goodnight."
The two of you slept right through the night, tossing and turning though still holding onto each-other, each movement accompanied by the other immediately moving as well to continue the comfortable sleep. Like usual, you were the first awake, you an early riser and Graham waking up as soon as you tried to move out of his hold. Though you'd tried to convince him to go back to sleep, shushing him and running your hands through his hair, he insisted on getting up with you.
And that's how you'd ended up here, your legs tangled with his once more, the little blue blanket covering your lap and two rather large bowls of cereal in hand. The tv had been left on, and now an episode of The Walton's was playing, the early morning tv not being watched but just adding a gentle hum to the room.
Graham had yet to take his eyes off of you since the two of you woke up, his cereal left uneaten in his hand despite you encouraging him to eat it before it got soggy. "You're beautiful, you know that?" He asked, tucking your hair back behind your ear.
"What?" You practically choked on your cereal, moving the bowl to the coffee table and giving Graham your full attention instead.
"You're beautiful." He repeated, cupping your face with one hand while the other reached for your own, intertwining your fingers. "I've just been thinking about it, that's okay."
"Yeah?" You asked, the undivided attention you were giving the brunette having his cheeks flush pink, his eyes moving between your lips and your own.
"Yeah." He answered breathlessly, looking back to your eyes and wetting his lips. "Can I... can I kiss you?"
"Yeah." You answered, not leaving another second for him to make the first move, ducking down and pressing your lips to his in one swift movement. Graham was stunned into stillness, though only for a second, quickly regaining his senses and kissing you back, his lips moving in sync with yours.
Your hands moved up to his hair, tugging and pulling him closer to you as his cupped your jaw, deepening the kiss with every movement of his lips and swipe of his tongue against yours. Graham's other hand moved to the small of your back, pulling you up and guiding you into his lap, you leg swinging over him and settling on either side of his hips comfortably.
At the sound of a door creaking open somewhere down the hall, you pressed your lips against Graham's in one final, long kiss, then another quick softer one, sliding off his lap and cuddling into his side - pulling the blanket over the two of you. As the footsteps got closer to the room, Graham grabbed your cereal for you, picking up his own as well and forcing his attention onto the tv screen a little too hard.
"woah, morning guys." Eddie stumbled through the living room, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he tried to find the kitchen with his eyes half closed. "you're up earlier."
"She always is." Graham answered, eyes unmoving from the episode of The Waltons that was beginning to come to an end. "I'm just tagging along."
"So you weren't making out when I came in here?" Grahams hand was quick to smack against your back as you chocked on your cereal, your coughing going away quickly as he helped you. "And you didn't get into bed together last night?"
"If we say no, will you believe us?" You looked at Eddie over the back of the couch, a glass of water in his hands and his eyes squinted tightly shut in an effort to keep the daylight out.
"No. I have eyes." Eddie sassed, taking a sip of his water and running his hand over his face, his hair immediately flopping back in front of his eyes after he pushed it back. He could do with a headband, you thought, making a mental note to but him one the next time you were out. "But I'm not going to say anything. You do you. Night guys."
As soon as you heard Eddie's bedroom door close again, you were back on Graham's lap, letting your empty bowl of cereal fall to the floor and not caring, knowing you'd clean it up later.
"Really?" Graham asked, reaching around you to place his bowl down carefully, unlike how you'd all but thrown it down.
"Really." You didn't waste another second before pulling him in for another kiss, threading your fingers through the tufts of hair at the nape of his neck, rocking closer to him as the kiss deepened. Pulling back only enough to whisper words against his lips, Graham went in for another kiss, but you stopped him with a gentle push to his chest. "He's definitely gonna tell Warren isn't he."
"Oh, for sure."

SECRET’S OUT
Tumblr media
masterlist
→ pairing: graham dunne x reader
→ description: you and graham have been secretly dating for months now, having decided it was better to keep things between you guys for now. one moonlit night and a love song were all about to change that.
→ warnings: a little swearing, fluffiness galore
Graham had been nervous all day — leg tapping constantly, all short sentences and quiet hums in response to every word that anyone had to say.
You’d have been concerned, if not for the fact that Billy had mentioned something about him wanting to show the band a song he’d written.
He seemed to spend a lot of time writing songs since he’d met you — but he never showed anyone. Not even you.
But this song he was particularly proud of.
You had been secretly dating for months now, and a matter of days ago you had made a moonlit confession of just how deeply you had fallen in love with him in that time.
Of course, he was head over heels for you too. Hearing you say it first, though, was something he didn’t think he would ever get over. You, Y/N Y/L/N, loved him, Graham Dunne. He wouldn’t ever get tired of thinking of the moment you first said it.
The days since had been blissful, but had made it all the more difficult to keep things between you a secret from all of your best friends.
You weren’t sure how nobody had noticed what was going on between you anyway, given how tactile you were with Graham and how much time you spent together. But the whole band were so wrapped up in their own shit that you sort of understood.
The night you told him you loved him — leaned against the tour bus with the glimmer of the moon in your eyes and your windswept hair blowing in the evening wind, he’d waited until you fell asleep (flush against his chest on the bus couches, meaning he had to carry you to bed as he so loved doing) and put pen to paper to immortalise an evening he’d never forget.
And now he’d marched into rehearsal determined to show off the song, without a single thought for the consequences of sharing what was so blatantly a love song about a partner nobody knew he had.
“Dude, that was fucking awesome,” Warren gawped, standing up from where he’d been perched to slap Graham across the shoulder as he finished the song.
But Graham was only looking at you — trying to gauge your reaction to the lyrics that were so clearly laced with every feeling he’d felt for you throughout your relationship.
You were silent, crimson-cheeked and grinning from ear to ear as you caught his intense gaze. God, you were so fucking in love with that man.
“It was, but are we going to talk about who the fuck it’s about?” Eddie interjected, crossing his arms, “You don’t even get laid, and now you’re writing like you’ve met the love of your life or some shit?”
It was then that you heard Karen scoff, “Because he has, dipshit.”
The whole room turned to look at her confusedly, you and Graham included, as she chuckled to herself and locked eyes with you.
It was like a switch flipped, and you practically flew to your feet towards your boyfriend.
Your hands tangled themselves in his curls as you pulled his face towards you, kissing him with such passion that for a moment he was too taken aback to respond.
But within no time he swung his guitar on its strap to sit behind his back instead, his hands cupping your cheeks as he kissed you back.
“What the hell?”
“Y/N?”
“Niceeee.”
“Look, I know there’s been a lot going on. But if you haven’t seen — or heard — him and Y/N then you must be crazy,” Karen laughed, paying no mind to you making out, “I know they think they’ve been super secretive, but it’s clear as day how they feel.”
Everyone else buzzed with excitement and confusion as they pondered how the hell they didn’t notice.
“Alright, alright,” Eddie called over to you after a short while, “We get it, you do get laid.”
Karen bit her tongue, though she really wanted to make a comment about the very clear crush Eddie had on you that was to blame for the bitterness lacing his words.
“How long has this been going on?” Billy asked, a warm smile on his face at the notion that his brother had found happiness with someone he really trusted not to break his heart.
You pulled back, resting your hands on Graham’s shoulder and then perching your chin atop them as you looked around.
“A few months now,” you beamed, “We wanted to keep it a secret to start with but… Well, I don’t think I could do that much longer anyway.”
Graham dipped his head to kiss your forehead softly, “So you can keep your eyes to yourself now, yeah Eddie?”
Eddie rolled his eyes, lifting his hands in defeat, “Ouch, man.”
You lightly nudged your boyfriend, flushing red again at them addressing Eddie’s crush on you.
“Anyway, if that song isn’t on the album I’m going to be furious,” you hummed, moving the conversation away, “Genuinely furious.”
“Don’t worry, babe,” Graham singsonged, confident with the reaction he’d gotten, “I think it’ll be on the album.”
You leaned up with a smile, whispering a small “I love you,” in his ear. He tightened his grip on your waist as you pressed a kiss to his temple in appreciation.
“I love you too,” he kissed your jaw, pulling back with a smile as he saw Eddie fake gag out of the corner of his eye.
“Jesus Christ.”
“I’m going to get out of your hair now,” you giggled, pulling away from Graham’s grip and twirling towards the door, “Let you guys get on with it. I’ll see you all later.”
Graham fake pouted, following you out of the door for a moment to say goodbye and ignoring Warren’s teasing comment about him being obsessed.
“Thank you, Graham,” you practically sung as he took you in his arms again, leaning you against the hallway wall, “It’s… The song was beautiful. I love it. And I’m glad everything’s out in the open. Secret’s out!”
Graham nodded, kissing your forehead, then your lips, “I love you. And me too, even if Eddie’s jealous as fuck and the others don’t like the public displays of affection.”
With a laugh, you pulled out of his grip again. You kissed him once more as you leaned away, “Maybe we will have to tone that down.”
“I’ve had to pretend you’re not mine for months,” he shook his head, “No way am I hiding it now.”
He captured your waist with both hands and pressed his lips to yours one actual final time, turning to head back to the studio.
“Yeah, you’re right,” you grinned, “They’ll get over it.”

Breakfast - Graham Dunne Imagine [Daisy Jones & the Six]
Tumblr media
Title: Breakfast
Pairing: Graham Dunne X Reader
Word Count: 1,353 words
Warning(s): none
Summary: After getting (Y/n)'s number, Graham feels like he's taken a huge step forward for the band... and maybe himself.
Author's Note: I could do a third part to this.
Also, what Diasy Jones & the Six characters do y'all want me to write for?
PART ONE [Flirting] HERE
PART THREE [The Show] HERE
-----------------------
In all honesty, after I met Graham Dunne, I expected him to get too drunk to remember I had given him my number, never mind remember why he was supposed to call.
I was mistaken.
It was early in my day. I was just about to settle in when the call came through.
"Hello," I said.
"Hi... um... My name is Graham," I recognized the voice immediately. Annoying honestly. I shouldn't have been thinking about him enough for that to happen. "Grahm Dunne, I mean. You gave me your number last night."
"I did," I confirmed. "Good morning, Graham Dunne."
"Good morning," he let out a chuckle on the other end of the phone. "You told me to call you and then we could meet for breakfast."
I felt the grin pulling at the corner of my lips before I could stop it. "I did. Do you have some paper and a pencil?"
"Um, yeah, paper and pencil, one sec," I could've sworn that I heard him snapping his fingers at somebody. "I'm ready."
I rattled off an address and a name. "Got it?"
"Uh, yeah, yeah, I got it," he replied.
"Meet me there in... an hour? Just about?"
"Yeah, absolutely, I'll be there."
"See you soon, Graham Dunne."
"You- You can just call me Graham."
"Not as much fun," I shrugged even though he couldn't see me. "See you soon."
"You too," his voice almost sounded like a mutter.
I hung up the phone soon after, going to grab my stuff and make sure that my schedule got moved around in the exact way that it needed to.
"Why are you doing this," the woman at the desk asked. "Meeting with him?"
"Curiosity," I replied. "For the first time in a while, I am curious about what a
A smirk formed on her face.
"What?"
"That smile says more than curious."
I scoffed. "Well then."
She just chuckled. "Sorry, I'm observant."
I nodded, letting out a very sarcastic 'uh-huh' as I did so.
"You'll tell me about what happens, right," she asked.
"There's not gonna be much to tell."
"You say that now..."
I rolled my eyes. "I'll see you later."
"You too," she waved to me as I walked out.
Graham was waiting outside when I made it to the restaurant. He waved awkwardly as I walked over to him.
"Morning," I said.
"Morning," he replied, a clearly nervous grin on his face. I found it sweet.
There was a short, awkward pause before he seemed to snap out of some kind of trance. He rushed over to the door, holding it open to the door.
"Thank you," I grinned, walking past him.
"Hello, (Y/n)."
"Hello, darling," I greeted the usual host with a kind smile. "How are you?"
"I'm doing very well, thank you," she nodded. "How are you?"
"I only know work."
It was the same response that I always gave her. It must sound so fake and rehearsed by now. I hated the deep pull in my chest to apologize for being such an annoyance.
"Dining with a guest?" she motioned at Graham behind me.
"Yes, I am," I nodded. "Got room for us?"
"Always."
We followed close behind her. She sat us in a booth toward the back corner, laying two menus in front of us before going to grab two waters.
"You eat here a lot," Graham asked.
I nodded. "It's close and food's good."
"Nice."
I bit my lip, wanting to chuckle at him. I just didn't want to make him feel embarrassed.
It wasn't until our food arrived that I decided to ask him about the whole reason he had spoken to me in the first place.
"So, tell me about that gig of yours," I said, relaxing a bit further into the booth.
"Well, um, we play on the strip."
I nodded. "That's something. Where?"
He paused for a moment.
"If you want me to review your band, I'm gonna need to know where to watch you," I added. It was meant to be a somewhat veiled form of comfort.
"Filthy McNasty's," he muttered. "But we've got a crowd there. People like us, they like what we do-"
"Hey, breathe," I motioned for him to slow down and stop rambling. "No need to be embarrassed. We all have to start somewhere. Sounds like your start out here was luckier than quite a few others."
He nodded again.
"You guys play tonight?"
"Yeah," he replied.
"Time?"
He rattled off the time that they were going to start playing. I nodded. It would work with my work schedule. Convenient.
"I- I was going to save a seat for you," Graham explained. "Like a table all to yourself."
"Special treatment?"
"Politeness," he corrected. That made a strange feeling pull at my chest. "Thought it'd be hard to take notes when stuck in a crowd full of people."
"I see," I said. "Just a thoughtful guy?"
"I try my best."
I hummed. "I'll go."
"Really?"
"But I don't want you to expect some stellar review just because we ate breakfast together and talked for a little while. Want a good review, put on a good show."
"Understood."
"Now, I need names. Who is the rest of this group of yours?"
"Well, my brother- Billy is the lead singer," Graham started.
He ran down the list like he had practiced exactly how he wanted to introduce them all.
Karen was their keyboardist.
Eddie was their bassist.
Warren was the drummer.
"And then, there's me," he added. "I play guitar."
I nodded. "So only two of you are actually Dunne brothers?"
"Yes."
"And one of you isn't a 'brother' at all?" I put the word "brother" in air quotes as I said it.
"Well, yeah."
I nodded again.
Breakfast after that was full of small talk. Which was strange for me. I wasn't one to usually entertain such conversation. Not in situations like this. This was me meeting a member of a new band to review. Business more than anything.
So, why was I so interested in talking about so much more than just his band?
It was a question that would sit in the back of my mind for the rest of the meal. Just constantly spinning around back there.
I paid for the meal before Graham could argue with me. When he tried, I raised an eyebrow at him, which seemed to be enough to shut him down.
He did seem insistent on walking me to my car after the fact.
I stopped next to it and looked at him.
"I'll see you tonight," Graham said with a grin.
"You will," I nodded.
There was this pause between the moment I spoke and the moment I went to get in my car.
He must've taken that pause as some kind of opportunity. He stepped forward before going to close the rest of the distance.
I reached up and placed a hand on his chest.
"Don't do something stupid," I warned as I leaned away from him. He furrowed his eyebrows. "Kiss me and I won't be able to review anything involving your band. I won't risk my integrity like that."
He slowly nodded at me. "Then, I'll wait."
I let out a shocked scoff. "Excuse me?"
"I am going to wait until your review comes out," he explained, stepping closer to me again. "And once it does, I am going to call your office again, we'll meet here for breakfast again, and when we're done... I'm going to kiss you."
"Is that right," I asked.
"Yeah."
"I don't remember you being this confident last night, Graham Dunne."
"It's a lot easier when I don't have my brother and friends staring at me," he shrugged.
I chuckled as I nodded. "Alright... I'll see you tonight."
"You too."
He started walking backward, still looking at me with that dumb grin.
I got in the driver's seat and started my car.
I chuckled to myself before going to pull out of the parking lot.
I don't think I had ever hoped so much for a gig to go well.

tw: mentions of drinking, mentions of djats drama, talks about marriage & children, some period typical misogyny (it's only briefly mention - it's literally like a line), FLUFF, kissing
description: your boyfriend just got back from touring and you have a special night in planned.
Tumblr media
You knew that touring was both incredibly draining as it was rewarding. Having gone on The Six’s first tour right after Cami and Billy’s wedding, you were used to sleeping in crappy hotel room beds and having to constantly be on the move; which is why you knew how exhausted Graham would be when he got home… especially with how insane the last few shows had been.
You normally would have gone with Graham for the whole tour but you only got to be there for the first shows before a huge case was thrown in the laps of the law firm you were currently interning for. And being a female lawyer in the 70s was not easy which meant you usually had to work extra hard.
Graham was completely aware of this and he ended up checking up during every single nightly phone call. You vividly remembered all the late night study sessions where he helped quiz you on each one of your flashcards, as well as the times where instead of going to one of his huge parties he would stay with you in your apartment and watch movies on the couch.
Tumblr media
Smiling, you thought back to the day you met Graham. It was almost as if you were there again, the salty brine of the sea permeating your nose whilst the cold waves lapped around your floating body.
You usually went down to the beach for an escape, thankfully your apartment was only a 20 minute drive to the ocean or else you might have had a mental breakdown by the time you finished your law degree.
It wasn’t strange for the beach to be completely empty, especially if it was the middle of a weekday, which is why it surprised you to see someone else enjoying the ocean as much as you were.
He had brown hair that was curling at the ends from the ocean’s spray as he surfed. His eyes met yours as he, once again, caught a wave and after sending you a charming little smile he went tumbling into the ocean’s basin.
You laugh twinkled out over the waves and you slowly started to swim over to the spot where he was currently floating on his board.
“Hi!” You said with a teasing smile as you laid your elbows onto the board with only your head peeking out from the waves.
“Hi there.”
“You look like you took quite a tumble.”
“Well I was distracted.”
“Hmm really?” You tilted your head and wiped off a stray droplet of water from your arm.
“Yes, there was this beautiful woman staring at me and I don’t think anyone would have been able to stay on that board if they had those eyes on them.”
Your body was singing in adoration and you could feel as your smile broadened. He was as cute as he was charming.
“I think the woman didn’t really mean for you to fall.”
“I’m not placing the blame on her at all… now does this beautiful woman have a name?”
“Y/N and what might the charming surfer’s name be?”
“Graham. Graham Dunne.”
Tumblr media
You let out a small laugh at how dorky his James Bond-like introduction had been as you carefully poured the wine you had gotten from your anniversary trip and struck a match to light the candles. That was when you heard the jingling of keys against the apartment door and you wandered out of your small dining room/kitchen with a big smile on your face.
As Graham stepped through the doors you basically flung yourself across the room into his arms. He laughed as you basically became a koala encircled around him and he started littering kisses all over your face and neck.
“Hi darling.” He smiled at you lovingly after you extracted yourself from his hold.
“Hi, my favorite rockstar. How was the trip back?”
“Tense but I’m much better now.” He started to take off his coat and placed his guitar in the usual spot as you looked on.
“Well I really missed you.” He turned around and mirth sparkled in his eyes before he grabbed you again and started twirling you around the room.
“I missed you so, so much my love.”
You laughed freely and when you were finally put back down onto the solid floor of the apartment you grabbed one of Graham’s hands as you led him into the dining room.
“Y/N… this is beautiful. You really didn’t need to do this, darling. We could have just ordered takeout.”
“Graham, you deserve this. And I deserve a night with my boyfriend after these past few months. Let me take care of you.”
He smiled at you gratefully as you placed a fleeting kiss on his lips before turning on a Beatles record and grabbing the plates of… takeout from the kitchen.
“Okay you might have to deal with takeout though, I barely had time to cook when I got back from the firm. I got it from our favorite Italian!” You called out from the kitchen which just made Graham join you in the tiled room.
“Oh don’t worry I’ve been craving this for months, thanks darling. Takeout outside of LA is not the same.”
He helped you place the different plates of pasta, bread and risotto on the table before pulling out your chair and then taking his place at the other end of your small table.
“Bon appétit mon amour.” You said, as you reached for his left hand.
“Bon appétit.” You kissed gently under the candlelight and then began to dig into the food.
Tumblr media
After dinner you decided to just sit on the couch and put on an admittedly terrible horror movie, one of your favorite activities to do as a couple. You kept laughing at the cheesy jumpscares and talking over the atrocious dialogue. Graham was filling you up on all the ups and downs of the tour, he had just finished recounting the more than usual tension between Eddie and Billy.
“You know we should invite Cami and Billy over once all this is cleared up.”
You said as you carefully ran your hands through his hair as his head rested on your lap. Graham looked up at you with those blue eyes of his with adoration shining through before saying:
“Definitely, I can’t wait to see Julia again.”
“I miss that kid, work has been so busy that I haven’t been able to meet with Cami in ages.”
“Would you ever want that?”
“What do you mean?” You asked, cocking your head to the side.
“I mean like the whole thing, kids, marriage… you know?” He looked at you with eyebrows knitted together and a worried pout, you just smoothed out the wrinkle between his eyes and smiled softly.
“Yeah I think I do. But I only really want to do it with one person?”
Graham’s face brightened and you were sure your expression mirrored his as you were filled with giddy excitement.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” Graham placed small kisses over your arm leaving you giggling before he finally placed a kiss on your smiling lips.
“How do you feel about going down to the beach tomorrow?” You asked after your little makeout session, trying to get back into a calm state since you were both exhausted.
“Don’t you have work?”
“Nope, weekend remember?”
“The beach sounds perfect darling.”
You look at each other’s eyes for a few more moments before focusing back on the movie. Taking care of each other had slowly become something you just did out of instinct but you felt something change that night. You knew you could spend the rest of your life with Graham and never feel anything other than love and admiration for the man who was currently lying on your lap. You felt like the luckiest woman in the world. Similar thoughts echoed through Graham’s mind as he felt your fingers start combing through his hair again.

How They All Found Out || ER
You and Eddie were doing a good job of sneaking around with your realationship. But slowly, as you two start to fall more and more in love, it gets harder to hide your feelings from the band.
pairings: Eddie Roundtree x Fem!reader
warnings: me messing with the timeline for the fic’s sake, cussing, talks of kids in the future, allusions to sex
authors note: Djats is my new favorite thing. Let me know if you guys have any other requests, i’d be happy to write them.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
You and Eddie starting seeing eachother on the break of the SevenEightNine tour. It was perfect timing, you didn’t have to hide, since it was always just the two of you. You got along so well, It felt like you were the only people in the world. Nothing else mattered. The two of you would lie in bed all day, no worries but eachother. It was all perfect. That was, until, Billy got out of Rehab and the band got together again. Then everything got hard.
Eddie Roundtree (Rhythm Guitarist): That first month or two, man, those were the days. Just me and my girl, nothing else to worry about. It was all so easy. And don’t get me wrong, when we [the band] got back together, I was thrilled. It just meant things would get harder for Y/n and me.
You and Eddie were lying in bed together one morning, the sun shining through the windows of your now shared bedroom. Your head was lying on his chest while his hand rested on your lower back. The only thing you were wearing was (his) a tshirt and your underwear. It was a perfect, peaceful scene. But, inside your head, everything was the opposite. Billy had just gotten out of Rehab. Which would normally be good, but all it did was make things more complicated. The band would start practicing again. And you didn’t want what you had with Eddie to just stop. You hadn’t talked about what you were, but you were sure he would want to stay together. He acted like your boyfriend. And that was all the mattered, right?
“Eddie, what do you think will happen when we start practicing again?” You asked, tentatively. You had been thinking about asking this question for a while. If Eddie was going to end it, you wanted it over with. Rip the band-aid off, right? He turned his head toward you and smiled slightly. “Well, what do you want to do?” He started, “I mean, I dont want to stop this. I like you, a whole lot.” You felt your face heat up. You felt like a 13-year-old girl with her first crush, but you didn’t care. Eddie had that effect on you. You replied, “Me too. It’s just- Would you mind if we don’t tell the others? Just for a while.”
Y/N L/N (Bassist): When you’re a woman in a band, people say a lot of shitty things to you. They’ll question your ability to play, say others are better than you. Back then, what other people thought meant a lot to me. I didn’t want to be “Eddie Roundtree’s Girlfriend.” I wanted to be known as me.
You could see his smile falter. You didn’t want this, but it was for the best. The best for you, atleast. You’d still have lots of time together, right? Everything would be the same. That’s what you kept telling yourself.
“Yeah, sure. As long as I get to keep kissing you.” Eddie said. You were glad he was taking it well. He puts a smirk on leans over to kiss you. You laugh and put both your hands on the side of his face to pull him in. He adjusts himself to be on top of you.
Maybe this would work out better than you thought.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Practice with the band has been going great. It was four months after Billy had gotten back. He was doing a lot better, and you were proud of him. You guys were playing more than ever, just trying to make up for lost time. That meant waking up early and staying in the studio til the late hours of the night.
The downside of this was that you and Eddie got less and less time together. You could see his longing glances across the studio, when the rest of the band was there. He just wanted to be together, which you could understand. You would take every opportunity possible to sneak into his room, most times just to talk. You wanted to be near him, to hear his voice and feel his touch. It was getting increasingly harder to not do so in front of others.
One night, after a long practice, you were struggling to sleep. It had been happening for nights and nights in a row. You weren’t sure why, most likely due to all the stress of the rehearsals. You had tried everything from counting sheep, flipping yor pillow, you even smoked a cigarette or two. But nothing helped. After tossing and turning for what seemed like hours, you decided you would head into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
You slowly rolled out of your bed, your feet touching the cold floor beneath you as you walked to your door. You quietly opened the door, slipping out of your bedroom. The last thing you wanted was to wake the whole house up at this hour. Quickly, you scurried into the kitchen. You stuck your hands out to feel around for the cabinet holding the cups. But, instead of your hands finding a knob, you felt a mop of soft, blonde hair.
“What the hell,” Eddie quickly turned around to face you, loudly shutting the cabinet holding the glassware. “Eddie!” You scolded him for being so loud. You placed a hand over his mouth, symbolizing for him to be quiet. He tried to stifle a laugh as he grabbed the hand in front of his mouth, encasing it in his much larger hand. “Funny seeing you here, baby.” Eddie smirked as he placed one hand firmly on your hip, still holding one of your hands. You laughed quietly, a smile reserved only for him starting to appear on your face. He leaned down to kiss you on the forehead. “I’ve missed you.” Eddie said. You laughed quietly, quickly responding, “I saw you five hours ago, remember?” He rolls his eyes at you. “Not like that. I miss being alone with you.” He says suggestively. He slowly starts tracing patterns on your hand with his thumb.
“Well, we have alone time right now… why not make good use of it?” You smirk. Eddie leaned down to kiss your jaw, moving down until he reached your neck. Your wrapped your hands around his neck, slightly turning your head to give him better access. You were fully wrapped up in the kisses before you realized where you were. He was kissing you in the middle of the kitchen! Anyone could walk in! “Eddie,” you started, but he ignored your call. “Eddie!” you said it much louder this time, but not loud enough for anyone else to hear. He stopped his trail of kisses, leaning his forehead against yours. He was so close to your lips, if he leaned in any further they would touch.
“We shouldn’t be doing this right now. Atleast not here.” You said. You bit your lip immediately after, pulling back your words. You knew it wasn’t right, but you missed him so much you couldn’t help it. “I know you don’t mean that.” Eddie said, tauntingly. He pulled a hand up to your lip, untucking it from under your teeth. “You bite your lip when you lie, sweetheart. You’re not very good at it.” He whispers to you. What happens next, you couldn’t control. You crashed your lips into his, hungrily looking for more.
Eddie places his hands under your thighs, and you jump up, wrapping your legs around him. His hands trace circles on your bare skin, making your heart jump. While your lips are still on his, he carries you to the counter, placing you down in front of him. His body is between your legs. Eddie is kissing down your neck, leaving light hickeys wherever he wants too. Those will be a problem for tomorrow. But right now, you’re fully in the moment. His hands are now under your shirt, and you can feel your heartbeat rising.
You’d been waiting for this forever. At this point, you’d forgotten you were in the middle of the kitchen. You needed him, and he needed you. The last time you were able to be together like this was weeks ago. All the pent-up tension between the two of you was being released with each kiss. Eddie grabs the end of your shirt, signalling for you to take it off. You do, and he kisses your shoulders and chest. But all the sudden, he stops. You look down at him, confused.
“Eddie? Eddie what happen-“
“Woah.” Warren says, startling you.
You turn your head, your face displaying total shock. Of course, someone would walk in! Just your luck. You quickly pull your shirt over your head and hop off the counter. This would take some explaining.
“You guys? You guys are hooking up?” Warren continues. His mouth is wide open. He’s laughing, rather loudly too. “I would’ve never guessed, man!”
The three of you stand there, all in total shock, for about a minute.
Warren Rojas (Drummer): It was crazy. I mean, we all knew they [Y/n and Eddie] had something. But I would’ve never known they’d been fucking. I always wondered why they didn’t tell anyone.
“So,” Eddie said. He looked at you for guidance.
“Please don’t tell anybody, Warren. Please.” You were practically begging him. You looked at him with your best puppy dog eyes and pleading smile. You could feel Eddie brushing his fingers against yours, almost for comfort.
“You guys don’t have to worry about me. I‘ll keep your secret.” He said. “I better be best man at the wedding, though.” Warren laughed.
“It’s not-“ Eddie said.
“Yeah, yeah. Can I atleast get some food though?” He said motioning to where you guys were standing, blocking the fridge.
You both nodded and scooted over very akwardly. You looked up at Eddie and all you could do was laugh, leaning into him. You placed your head on his chest, and he reached his hand up to cradle the back of your head. You were both laughing quietly. The situation was really ridiculous. You had been so careful, you never thought you would get caught. But it’s only one person who knows, right? And Warren wouldn’t dare tell anybody.
When Warren finished with whatever he was getting from the fridge, he started to walk away. When he was almost to his door, he turned to face you and Eddie. He looked like he wanted to say something but decided against it. He settled with an akward wave. With that, Warren was gone.
“So, where were we…” Eddie said, slowly starting to kiss yor jaw. You put your hands out, putting space between the two of you.
“I’d rather not have the entire band walk in on us, Eds.” You say. Your decision still stands, about not wanting the whole world to know of you and Eddie’s realationship. If you could even call it that, really. “But, maybe if we went to one of our bedrooms…” You trail off. Eddie doesn’t have to hear anymore. He is dragging you off to his room.
Eddie Roundtree: That was a good night for me. For us. I think it really made me realize what I wanted for us. Y/n still didn’t want to come out in the open with our realationship, which I understood. But that didn’t mean we couldn’t have something just between us. So I asked her to be my girlfriend that night. And she said yes. *smiles*

About two months or so after the Warren incident, the band was back in the studio recording. You were working with Teddy Price again. It was a miracle he let you back, considering how terribly the last tour ended. He suggested you bring in a new voice, someone who could bring more traction to the band. He suggested Daisy Jones. So, the band got to work on your new song Aurora, with the help of the wonderful Daisy.
One late night, the whole band was out with Daisy at Chateau Marmont. It was one of her many parties, which were always marvelous. You were wearing a short black skirt, matched with a white halter top with red floral detailing. You put together this outfit especially for a lipstick you wanted to wear, that was gifted to you by Karen, for your birthday. It was a gorgeous deep red color that complimented your skin perfectly.
You arrived at the Chateau a little later than everyone else, and you quickly found who you were looking for. Eddie. You made your way across the room to him. His face lit up with an all too familiar boyish smile. Eddie was standing alone next to the drinks, nursing a beer. He reached down to the cooler and grabbed you one, popping it open for you.
“Here you go, Y/n.” Eddie said while holding out his hand with the open beer. You took it with a smile.
“I’ve been looking for you all night, baby. Where have you been?” said Eddie. He takes a quick sip of his beer, admiring you. You can see his eyes flick up and down, from your legs up to your face. You could tell they lingered on your chest, which was exactly what you wanted. “I like this shirt.” He says, winking. You scan the room, making sure nobody is watching. You slowly take his hand and place a sloppy kiss on his lips. You start to lead him into a close bathroom.
“Are you sure Y/n? I mean we just got here, and you said you still wanted to keep us a secret.” Eddie says, looking at you concerningly. But you can tell, by how Eddie is looking at you and how he’s standing, with one hand holding yours and the other tight on your ass, that he really wants to sneak into the bathroom aswell. He was looking out for you, which was always something you admired about him. He was always considerate.
“It’ll be quick.” You smirk. You both make it into the restroom. You turn and lock the door behind you.
Around 30 minutes later, Eddie emerges from the bathroom. You both decided he would go first, just in case someone you two knew was by the door. This way nobody would become suspicious. He walks out back into the party, which has gained guests and volume while the two of you were away. He navigates through the crowd to find another beer. While searching for that, he finds two people from the band. Karen and Daisy were standing in the corner together. They wave Eddie over and he walks towards them.
“Hey Eddie, where have you been?” Says Karen. Daisy and Karen both smile at him, whilst exchanging looks. Eddie doesn’t catch it at first. He starts a conversation with them. But soon, after a while, Karen and Daisy burst out into a fit of laughter.
“What, what is it?” Eddie says, irriatated. Are they laughing at him? He hasn’t done anything embarrassing. Karen and Daisy don’t answer his question, they just continue to giggle.
“What’s funny?” Eddie restates himself. Now, he is just as much confused as he is annoyed. Did Billy tell them something? At this point, he was ready to leave and find somebody else to talk to. He was just about to walk away when Daisy grabs his hand.
“No, Eddie, wait,” She says between laughs, “We’ll tell you what’s funny.”
So, he turns backs around and crosses his arms. He could be doing much better things than being laughed at by two band mates. He looks around the room, impatiently waiting for their answer.
“Did you realize you have lipstick on your face, Eddie? Red lipstick?” Daisy says.
Oh.
That’s what they were laughing at.
“And it looks an awful lot like the one I got Y/n for her birthday.” Karen adds.
Karen Sirko (keyboardist): Oh my God! It was hilarious! Eddie comes out, and he has lipstick everywhere. His lips, his neck. And at first I was like, “Oh, good for him.” but then I realized that it was Y/n’s lipstick! The one i got her for her birthday, even. God, that was the highlight of my week.
Eddie reaches a hand up to his lips, and sure enough, deep, red lipstick residue is on his hands. The trail goes down his neck, too. He keeps trying to rub it off to the best of his ability. He laughs akwardly, looking down. Daisy senses the akwardness and tries to comfort him.
“Hey, i’m really happy for you guys. You two will be a great match, i’m sure.” She smiles, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Eddie looks up, smiling back at her. “Would it be okay if you guys didn’t tell anybody for now? We aren’t ready to tell everyone yet.” He says.
Daisy Jones (vocals): Eddie and Y/n? They were adorable. You could just tell that he was in love with her. When he would play, the only person his eyes went to was Y/n. As for Y/n, she was the same. When he walked into the room, you could see her smile. If I wanted my future to be like anyone’s, It would probably be their’s.
Karen and Daisy both nod. Eddie felt really bad about them finding out. Y/n had asked him to keep it a secret and he was dumb and messed it up. But, hey, Warren already knows. So two more people shouldn’t be so bad? And Eddie trusts Karen. He wasn’t sure about Daisy yet, but Y/n seemed to love her. He’d have to tell Y/n soon.
Y/n L/n: I wasn’t mad at all. It was really my fault for not noticing the lipstick. I helped him wipe it off after that, and I have to admit, he looked really silly. I can’t believe he left the bathroom looking like that.

It was Julia’s first birthday. Camila had put together a celebration with balloons, banners, and an adorable little pink cake. It was all out together in their new house’s backyard. They had a housewarming party a while ago. It was one of the best parties you’d ever been too. Being surrounded by friends who loved you always made you feel better.
At Julia’s party, you and Eddie were playing with her. She had brought a couple Barbies outside and was acting out a scene with them. You and Eddie were doing it with her, going along with whatever she says. “We go swim!” Julia moves her Barbie over to a nearby puddle, grabbing both your hands and making you move yours over too. “Weeeeee!” Julia makes the Barbies jump up and down in the puddle. While they were jumping, she moves them around wildly in your direction and they splash your sundress.
“Woah! Julia!” You say, holding her hand to settle her down. “You got me all wet!” You joke, fake scolding. She giggles, apologizing, “I’m sorry Aunt Y/n!” You smile at her. How could you be mad at such a cute face? You grab Julia’s hand while standing up, and point in her dad’s direction. “It’s okay, Jules. Why don’t you go find your dad while I go clean up?” She follows your directions and runs over to her father, Billy.
You stand up, swiftly brushing the dirt and grime off your hands and dress.
“You’re really good with Julia, Y/n” Eddie says.
You smile widely at him, laughing happily. “You think so? I always imagined myself with kids when I was younger.”
“It just got me thinking. We could do that one day.” Eddie says, looking down at you fondly.
“Have kids?” You ask. It was true, you always thought you’d have a family. Two, even three kids. Maybe a dog, too. But that was all back in Pittsburgh. You weren’t sure if that life would fit into your life style now.
“Yeah. Big house, white picket fence. Some kids running around. Wouldn’t you like that, Y/n?” He says. You two were dangerously close, in the middle of Billy and Camila’s yard. Everyone you knew was there. But at the moment, it only felt you and Eddie were present. It was like the world closed in on you, and it was just him and you left. You liked the close, intimate feel. Even though you had been dating for around a year, you had never talked about your future outside of being in the band.
“Yeah, I think I would like that.” You say happily. You liked this side of Eddie. The warm, inviting side. You really were beginning to see a future with the blonde. The two of you stood, in the middle of the yard, just looking into each other’s eyes. Words didn’t need to be spoken. It was a silent “I love you”.
Eddie Roundtree: Yeah, I remember that day. She just looked so beautiful, playing with Jules. She was so kind, always was. You couldn’t help but love her. *smiles*
You are quickly snapped out of the moment by Camila calling to you.
“Hey, Y/n!” Camila says. She walks up to you and frowns. “I heard about your dress. I’m so sorry, i’ll talk to Jules after the party.” She apologizes.
“No, it’s okay. I’ll just wash it when I get home.” You respond. You look down at your blue sundress, taking a look at all the muddy spots. “I think i’ll go inside and try to find a washcloth. I’ll try to get some of the mud out.” You say. Camila nods.
“I’ll come with you!” She exclaims. You flash Eddie a sweet smile goodbye, and he winks in return. Eddie turns to go talk to Graham as you go inside with Camila. As soon as you shut the door, Camila starts to smile suspiciously.
“You and Eddie, hm?” She questions. You freeze, simply in shock. You were going to have to dig yourself out of a big hole. Plus, you were never good at lying, especially to Camila. It was like she could see through people. You always envied it about her.
“What do you mean, Cami?” You ask. You begin to make you way to the sink, avoiding her eyes.
“Don’t try to fool me. I see the way he looks at you, Y/n. It’s like you hung the stars and put the moon in the sky. He loves you.” Camila smiles. She digs through the drawers of her kitchen before handing you a white washcloth.
“I don’t,” You start. The question had totally caught you off guard. Was it love? Had you fallen in love with Eddie Roundtree? “I don’t know how he feels.” You stutter. Guess there is no hiding it now.
You begin to wet the washcloth, but your mind is anywhere besides this room. Is Camila right? You always knew you had something special with Eddie. But you’d never thought about it this much to be honest. With the baby conversation today and Camila’s conversation with you right now, you are seriously considering it. Things between you and the blonde wasn’t just hooking up anymore and it hasn’t been for a long time. It felt as if things were suddenly gettin for serious, and you were not going to say no to it.
“Well I think I know how you feel.” The girl says, poking you in the side. You laugh with her, moving your hip out of her reach. You shake your head in response, but the radiant smile on your face tells otherwise.
When you recover from the laughter fit, you begin to blot the muddy fabric of your dress with the cloth. Cami settles down as well. She peeks out the window and smiles, “Looks like everyone is about to sing happy birthday. I better go get the candles. Come out in a second, yeah?” She says. You nod, waving her goodbye.
Just before she is about to walk out the door, she turns around and teases, “Oh, and Eddie will be out there, too. You might want to hurry.” She winks at you mischievously before shutting the door and hurrying over to where Julia and Billy were.
Camila Dunne: Oh, Gosh, they were an amazing couple. I would’ve never known, but once I did, it just felt so obvious. They were perfect together, and I mean it. You could just tell by the way they looked at eachother. As soon as his eyes fell on Y/n, they turned into hearts. And vice versa.
Normally, you would be freaking out. You just gave away the secret of your realationship to yet another person. But right now you were on cloud 9. Eddie Roundtree might love you. And you might love him back.

When Aurora was finally finished, the entire band was thrilled. Everyone had working together, and it turned out perfectly. You could feel it was about to be a big hit. The single, Look At Us Now, was already topping the charts. You had Daisy’s and Billy’s perfect vocal chemistry to thank for that.
Everybody was getting ready for the album cover shoot. It had been scheduled for weeks. After much bickering from Daisy and Billy, they decided on a desert shoot. The whole band was wearing tan, blue, and brown costumes, some more extravagant than others.
You and Eddie, though, had different plans. You snuck into his room late the night before. Everyone was staying in a hotel, as the photo shoot location was about 3 hours out of town and nobody wanted to drive that far so early. So, while everyone was getting ready, you and Eddie were lying in bed together, enjoying the solitude of the morning.
You were brushing stray hairs out of his face, to make sure you could see his beautiful eyes. Atleast you always thought they were beautiful. He was looking right back at you, with a dopey grin on his face. “I love you, Y/n.” He whispered. And you whispered it back.
After ten more minutes of this lovesick haze, you sat up, grabbing your watch that layed onnthe bedside table. Your face froze with shock.
“Shit, Shit, Shit! Eddie, it’s already 9:30. We were supposed to be down five minuetes ago!” With those words, the two of you flew out of bed, hurrily throwing on coats and blouses and brushing knotted hair from last night’s activities.
Meanwhile, downstairs, everyone was waiting on you two. Daisy, Karen, Warren, Camila, Billy, even Julia, all sat downstairs around a couple tables. They had finished breakfast a while ago, as it was now 9:45.
“Okay, where the fuck are they?” Billy said, tapping his foot. Karen and Daisy shared a look, Warren snickered, and Camila avoided his gaze. But Graham was clueless.
“I’ll go get them. I’m done eating anyway.” The younger Dunne brother said, hopping out of his seat next to Karen. He walks up to the elavator and steps inside, pressing the button of the band’s floor.
Meanwhile, you and Eddie were still frantically trying to get ready. You were applying a nude lipstick while Eddie buttoned up his shirt. You were no where near ready and you figured time was running out.
Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. You both freeze, making eye contact in the mirror.
“Probably just maintenance.” You reason.
“Yeah, just maintenance.” He agrees.
But you both quickly found out you were wrong when Graham’s voice sounded from the other side of the door. “Eddie, man, get up! You’re already thirty minutes late for photos.”
Oh, so it wasn’t maintenance. It was Graham. And Graham didn’t know. You and Eddie had started to consider telling everyone for good, but it had been so easy how it already was. You had settled into a routine of secrecy. It would just be so much harder to stop.
Graham knocks again, sounding impatient. You quickly pull out a curling iron to atleast get half your hair done while Eddie rushes to the door.
“Hey, just give me five more minutes.” He says before shutting the door in his face. Your boyfriend quickly rushes over to you in the bedroom, as you had given up on the hair curling idea after the front two pieces.
“What are we going to do, Ed?” you ask. He places a reassuring hand on your cheek, brushing a piece of hair away from your face.
“I’ll go out first. I’ll talk to Graham for a little before moving on downstairs. Then, he’ll go to your room next door and knock. You’ll slip out of here and try to walk a little ways down the hall so he doesn’t notice you came out of my room. Just pretend you were getting ice or something.” He says. You nod, trying hard to listen to exactly what he says.
When Eddie finishes speaking, you place a gentle kiss on his cheek. “For good luck.” you say. He smiles and embraces you quickly before heading for the door, motioning for you to hide on the other side of the room.
“Sorry about that Graham. Woke up late.” You can hear Eddie say from the other side of the wall. You press your ear up against the wallpaper trying to listen to more.
“I get it. I’m going to knock on Y/n’s door too. She must’ve overslept as well.” He pats Eddie on the shoulder before moving on to your door down the hall. You hear the steps of boots which you assume means he’s far enough away. You make your way to the door and open it very slowly. You manage to squeeze out of the half opened door. Now, you shut the door quietly before walking a little ways down the hall, like Eddie said.
“Hey, Y/n!” Graham calls out, and you stop in your tracks. “Where’d you come from?” He asks.
“I was just getting ice. Down the hall. At the ice machine.” You manages to sputter out. You’d never describe yourself as a nervous person, but right now, the nerves where like butterflies floating in your stomach, in your brain, and throughout your whole body. Graham furrows his brows at you, not very convinced by your efforts.
“I’m going to go ahead and get some breakfast.” You say quickly, speedwalking down the hallway. You thought you handled that pretty well.
Graham Dunne (Lead Guitar): She had come out of Eddie’s room. It was very obvious. Y/n was also always a terrible liar. I knew they were hooking up way before that ever even happened.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Karen Sirko: I think everyone knew they were in a realationship by that point. Daisy and I had a bet on when they would tell us.
Daisy Jones: It eventually came out when we were on tour, so Karen won technically. But they were just so shit at keeping secrets we all figured out a long time ago.
Warren Rojas: I was actually best man at Eddie’s and Y/n’s wedding. It was probably the best wedding i’ve ever been to. But don’t tell Lisa that. *winks*
