EN OF LOVE: TOSSARA (2020, THAILAND)

The first installment of the En of Love Series was TOSSARA and told the story of Gun (ACHAWIN MICHAELS aka WIN) a younger (& taller) medical student that was in love with older (& shorter) engineering student Bar (THITIPHAT CHANKAEW aka FOLK)

Finding Bar's gear at the swimming pool, Gun used it to get Bar's consent to actively pursue him or he would refuse to return his gear.

Bar, who identified as heterosexual said no but agreed to get his gear back. And Gun immediately began his pursuit with the encouragement of Bar's friends except of course Mark who wanted Bar for himself. (Before Vee rocked his world)

When Bar takes Gun's hand and takes the photo of their hands and posts it with a smile to prove that he does care about him and wants to be open about it but Gun needs to actually talk to him about. I mean, all of them really, but that was the first one that popped into my head.

Gun's are most likely words of affirmation and gifts while Bar's are definitely words of affirmation and physical touch.

3. What kind of dates do they go on?

Very, very, very sweet ones. They often go to movies and then for long walks together and they always end up snuggled at home, safe and cozy, happy and comfortable and in love.

4. Favorite kiss and/or hug.

I mean, it has to be the one in bed. Bar kissing Gun so sweetly and admitting how much he loves him and how much he wants to be with him and how much he loves him and how much he misses him.

i think it's very funny that literally everyone in this drama is messed up

very proud of mark for trying to put distance between him and vee

i think the real issue is that vee has this image of perfection in his head that he thinks he's somehow managed to reach and he wants it to stay that way - he's doing great at uni, he's popular, he has a big fun group of friends, he has a perfect girlfriend - and i think he's being incredibly performative about it all (down to little details like heart emojis next to ploy's name in his phone), and i don't even know what's worse - the fact that he clearly doesn't like this "perfection" but can't let it go or the fact that this "perfection" is in itself an illusion

i'm autistic so if someone picked out the ingredient i don't eat from my food, i would be ready to fucking die for them immediately

"people should be together because of love, not responsibility" - yeah that's great

VEE IS SO FUCKING STUPID KGJDFLKGJDFLKGJDFL

i think bar knows tbh, or at least sees some clear romantic/sexual tension between vee and mark

THAT MOMENT WHERE VEE STARTS OPENING THE WATER BOTTLE AND THE MUSIC IS ROMANTIC BECAUSE MARK THINKS HE IS DOING IT FOR HIM AND HE'S ALREADY DRAWING PARALLELS BETWEEN THEM AND GUNBAR BUT VEE JUST DRINKS THE FUCKING WATER HIMSELF, THAT IS SO FUNNY

btw any live speed swimming event is just deeply unimpressive - like i am so sorry, i know it's hard, but from the outside it just looks like a bunch of people swimming at a comedically low speed for a sports competition

love how we slowly moved on to our leads just being gay and out of the closet more often than not, refreshing

oh, AND ploy and vee were the star and the moon? literally a cliche of a doomed-to-fail, never-meant-to-be-in-the-first-place couple

i love how direct mark is - if everyone was like him, the world would be so much easier to navigate

i genuinely don't know what i would do in mark's situation... like, their relationship with vee is complicated as is, and he is also trying to put some distance between them, but now he knows this very important piece of information, and he tells vee, but he doesn't believe him, and then he ends up deleting all the proof he has - it's a mess

coming back to what i said earlier, vee is holding on to the fake perfection so much that he doesn't even bring up the cheating (not to mention that he himself has cheated before)

i thought mark would hug vee which would be appropriate but no... come on now, boys

episode 3 tells me that this drama will get messier and messier every second. but once more, we persist.

top 5 reverse 'oh' moments? This might be a bit harder to think of but i see the potential.

Reverse oh meaning where another character either realizes they don't have a chance OR when a couple realizes they're done.

Hey friend! I had to sleep on this but I'm here! Sorry it took so long! Top 5, "Welp, I guess this ain't working" moments.

Ingredients the Series. Dome brings home a very drunk Win (he's sad he's leaving to the US without Tops) and he accidentally bumps his head as he's being hauled inside. Tops immediately runs to Win's side and pretty much elbows Dome to the side to take over. Dome tries to make light convo...maybe flirt a bit, but Tops is not even listening he's too busy wiping Win's sweat and keeping his hair out of his face and making sure he's well taken care. In that moment Dome realizes that he has ABSOLUTELY no chance with Tops and kind of just slips out and bounces.

TharnType the Series. Right before Lhong gets exposed he befriends Type and takes him out to drinks. Type already knows that Lhong is absolutely bonkers by then so he pretends to be drunk and allows Lhong to escort him home. Lhong tries to have a little teasing banter with his bestie Tharn as he pushes Type into his arms. Type takes a moment to "drunkenly" tell Tharn he belongs to him and from that point Tharn completely forgets Lhong is there. He grins happily and agrees that he belongs to Type and kind of just closes the door in Lhong's face and at that point Lhong realizes that AGAIN his pick-me ass was not chosen by Tharn.

Love Mechanics. I think it's after Bar basically tells Mark that he's not interested, he's at the pool practicing with P'Bar (I think Vee is ther too but I can't remember tbh) and Gun shows up and Mark sees them being all sweet and flirty with each other and I think reality hit him that his beloved P'Bar had chosen someone else. I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

To My Star 2. Sung Yoon and Ji Woo are sitting out back finally hashing things out about their failed relationship a decade ago. Sung Yoon is hopeful that they can get back together again (which is why she came back to their hometown). They apologize to each other and then Ji Woo says something along the lines of, "Sometimes it takes having someone by your side to realize you need someone else." and Sung Yoon can tell things are going downhill from there because she knows Ji Woo means that literally. He tells her he's grateful to have had her in his life when he did. She pulls out her old couple's bracelet and asks if she can still wear it and Ji Woo says, "Yea, I won't be wearing mine anymore so it's not a couple's bracelet anymore." And that was it, she knew it was done.

The Eighth Sense. Basically the entire first beach trip was Eun Ji realizing that Jae Won was not checking for her trifling ass anymore. Of course he hasn't spoken to her since his return from his enlistment, but she was definitely expecting to rekindle things during the trip. I think she really realized things were over when she saw how close and sweet Jae Won was with Ji Hyun, I know she did because she was pissed about it. Then Jae Won completely losing interest in their conversation when he noticed Ji Hyun on the beach and leaving her hanging mid-sentence. She knew things were over, but her pride wouldn't allow her to lose to some smalltown freshman. It was about winning by the end of it, she didn't care about how Jae Won felt.

Honestly, I like both but if I have to choose ~ SkyJao

GunBar ~ I love Gun just how cute he was when he asked permission to hit on Bar. The way he takes care of and tries to spend time with Bar whenever possible. Gun asks Bar’s friends for gifts ideas. He is honest about his feelings, making sure that not only Bar knows he is serious but everyone else either at the school or on social media messages when they ask why Bar. I love communication in a relationships and while Gun brings this up first but they both keep this going through out the show, making sure they talking about their issues (mostly due to jealously)

SkyJao ~ I feel in love with them the morning after they played the game and Sky was to flirt with Jao for a week! When he picked him up from his dorm to take school… such a cute scene. Then of course their relationship only got better!! I love how Sky is always looking out for Jao but also once Jao started having feelings for Sky he also took care of him.

Sky knew Jao was sick before his friends knew and took care of him. Sky doesn’t make fun of Jao for his weight, in fact he doesn’t tell him not to eat but gives him food. He also said if you want me to I can work out with you but only if you want! Sky also shows jealousy well and I think that helps Jao be more confident about his appearance. Then later Sky gets hurt at a basketball game and tries to hid the pain. Jao notices this and goes to take care of him. Once again before the friends even know somethings wrong!! Basically they are both supportive of each other and I just love how they took their relationship slow.

Oh man, this is gonna be messy and painful... I mean, we've already got suicide attempts and mentions in the first episode and Mark's definitely got signs of depression and obsession and Vee's already worried and bonding and starting to return the obsession and you can see the way they're both just bursting with their lives and Mark is in love with Bar and Vee is aching with a combination of annoyance and affection and confusion and it's already achingly painful and messy just to begin... it's not gonna get better from here, y'all.
