honestly i think that au where cody is the corrie commander and fox is kenobi's/212th commander is peak order-66-is-averted au because fox excels at Figuring Shady Shit Out and would in this au have the opportunity to do it and cody excels at Circumventing Orders To Get What He Wants and would be able to effectively undermine palp. thank you for coming to my ted talk

Mhi Ba'juri Verde
(A fun sorta AU snippet where AniDala doesn't get together but they're friends, Order 66 doesn't happen and Anakin never falls to the Dark. Oh, and Anakin has something he's been wanting to tell Rex for a while. But he's Anakin so y'know... awkward. Enjoy!)
"She's a grown into a true Jedi." Rex tells the Jedi as he comes to stand beside him. The two watch the padawan as she talks animatedly to her troops. "You raised her well."
"We."
"Huh?"
"We raised her well. I know couldn't always be what she needed, Rex. She's as much your padawan as she is mine." The cap- commader snaps his head around so fast he thought he might it fly off. Anakin grins wildly at the clone's stunned expression.
Rex quickly averts his eyes to ground where he watches his boots scuffle. A blush creeps high up his cheeks as a shy smile curls at the edge of his lips. He turns back to watch Ahsoka and his brothers laughing together, enjoying the other's company.
"She takes a lot after you."
The young knight shrugs, watching his padawan. "Yeah, she's definitely got my eyes." Rex feels something reach for his hand, closing around it. "But her smile is all yours."
The blond stares down at the gloved hand gripping his own then back up at Skywalker. Examining the Jedi's profile as he purposefully looks dead ahead, avoiding eye contact with the other man. He can feel the leather glove's grip loosening. Rex quickly squeezes it in reassurance and steps a little closer to Anakin.
They continue watching their padawan.

Star Wars: Clone Wars AU idea that popped into my head and won’t leave. Maybe someday I’ll have the motivation to actually write a fic about it, but for now I’m just putting it out into the world:
What if, late enough into the war that the clones have all bonded pretty strongly with the Jedi, but not so late that they’re into Sidious’ endgame, the clones become aware of the chips in their heads, and what they could be forced to do. They catch onto Sidious’ plan to have them kill the Jedi, wiping them out in one fell swoop, and are naturally horrified. It’s bad enough that the war is slowly whittling down the Jedi’s numbers, no matter how hard the clones have been trying to keep them safe, but to know that they were meant as a trap? It’s almost unthinkable.
(Maybe Tup’s chip malfunctions earlier than in canon. Maybe early enough that it can be removed without killing him, before he actually harms anyone. This AU is already going to be self-indulgent enough, why not say that’s what happens, and that’s how they find out)
So the clones realize that Sidious is going to use them to kill their Jedi, and while getting the chips out of their heads is of course the ideal solution to this problem, they’re worried about tipping off Sidious that they’re onto them. They need to come up with another plan, some sort of distraction, something to buy them time.
That’s when it hits Cody that they can kill two birds with one stone. They can get Sidious off of their backs, while simultaneously getting the Jedi away from the war, with one single crazy plan; fake Order 66. They will act as if Order 66 somehow got activated early, and “kill” all of the Jedi, thus removing them from the war and Sidious’ plans. After this long into the war, the Jedi’s numbers have dropped to several thousand, which could probably all be safely sustained on a single suitable planet. Cody has some of his best scouts start searching for a planet for them to stash the Jedi safely away, and then starts planning Operation: Daybreak.
Planning is difficult. Somehow they have to fake the deaths of several thousand beings, simultaneously, without tipping off their plans to the Sith. The Jedi in the field are easy enough to figure out (i.e. how Order 66 initially went down), but the Jedi in the Temples, and away from the fighting are much more difficult. And there’s one further complication: they can’t actually warn the Jedi what they’re doing, as they need the Jedi’s reactions to be as realistic as possible to sell their plan. Several brothers object, but as Cody points out, at least the Jedi will still be alive to be mad at them after.
Despite these difficulties, their plan somehow goes off without a hitch. It’s an awful day, and the feelings of hurt, horror, and betrayal radiating off of every single Jedi is strong enough that it echoes throughout the galaxy, making Operation: Daybreak even more realistic. Getting the “bodies” off of Coruscant, along with anything of value that the clones are able to sneak out of the Temple, is genuinely the hardest part of the plan, and there’s a tense moment when the Chancellor demands that he go see what has happened at the Temple and try to provide “help” but somehow Fox manages to convince him to let the clones deal with the clean up. The Commander of the Coruscant Guard comes out of that meeting with the shakes and his blacks absolutely soaked with sweat from the stress, but he manages to avert disaster.
The next day, when the first Jedi start to wake up from being transported to their new haven, is almost as bad as Operation: Daybreak. They’re angry, understandably so, but when the clones explain what happened, why they did what they did, they find they can’t argue. The clones put so much on the line to enact this plan, to sabotage it now would be foolish. Despite this, many of the Jedi are left feeling wary of their men, upset with being hidden away when others are out there suffering.
But now the clones have time. Sidious is busy managing the Senate, who haven’t quite become anti-Jedi enough yet for them to be declared traitors without opposition. Sidious also doesn’t have the same level of power as he should have towards the end of the war, so he can’t just sweep the whole thing under the rug either. And while the clones ‘malfunctioning’ has put a target on their backs, the war hasn’t suddenly ended because the Jedi are gone, so the clones are still needed. They’re safe for now. Well, as safe as they can be in a war where suddenly all of their Generals are “dead” and the chain of command has kind of exploded.
It’s a messy couple of weeks post-Operation: Daybreak, which means no one notices every single clone going through a mandatory operation that leaves tiny white scars on the sides of their heads.
I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure where the AU could go from here. Obviously there’s the war that needs ending. Maybe now that they’re free of Senate influence, the Jedi are able to track down Grievous and Dooku, put an end to them, and then open negotiations with the Separatist leaders. Maybe with Sidious’ plans activating too early, the Senate turns on him and he’s actually ousted from power through completely legal means.
(He’d still go all Sith-crazy and try to take control that way, though, that goes without saying. Fox sees it coming, though. He can be the one to shoot Palpatine and save the day, as a treat).
Either way, peace is restored to the galaxy, and the Jedi are safe and free to decide if they want to return to the Republic that was using them and abusing them, or if they’d like to start fresh. And maybe, after seeing what the clones were willing to do to protect them, after coming to terms with what could have happen, a tentative trust begins to develop between clones and Jedi again. It’s not perfect, the whole galaxy has a lot of healing and repairing to do, but now they have the time to do it.
And that’s all I’ve got. Ta-da!

Wishlist for Obi Wan:
Sith!Obi via being born into the Sith Empire during SW:ToR. He ends up with Anakin as his apprentice and is striving to excel in the Empire.
Sith!Obi who falls ? At some point during the events of the prequels; anger bc of the order 66, bc of the corruption in the Senate, the forming of the Empire, loss of Anakin & the grief & anger there I mean anything starting back at his reaction to Qui Gon’s death could’ve been the trigger there’s a lot of ways this could go down so open to plotting things or just saying eh and leaving it vague until threading takes care of filling in the blanks.
Threads with Anakin / inquisitors / a secret Sith Lord during the era of Kenobi where for one reason or another they’re intent on breaking him down and use torture and whatever else to make him fall to the dark side or maybe they just plan on killing him slowly for a good long while for perceived betrayal or whatever. Again, open to a lot of options.
AU where he leaves the order to be with Satine after her safe return to Mandalore in his youthful misadventures with her and Qui Gon.
AU where he discovers Palpatine’s plans and true nature and is able to convince Anakin and the Council. The empire is thwarted and there is no Mustafar and someone else is brought on as Chancellor. Maybe everyone continues to pretend the twins aren’t Carbon copies of their parents or maybe Anakin opts to leave the Order to raise his kids with his wife.
AU where Padme & Obi somehow manage to avert the bad ending of the confrontation on Mustafar. Everyone goes into hiding. Twins are born. Anakin struggles to regain control & he and Obi try to gather surviving Jedi and or they all begin to form a resistance to the spreading influence of the Empire & Inquisitors.
AU where Obi raises Luke (or Leia or both) on Tatooine instead of Owen & Beru.
AU where Obi lives on Alderaan as a tutor or just family friend mostly hermit style still for safety of all concerned.
AU where Obi doesn’t settle on Tatooine post prequels but goes out in active search of surviving Jedi and works with people like Tala from the get go in saving force sensitives and working to build a rebellion.
AU where Obi and Padme are the ones that enter into a forbidden romance instead of Anakin and Padme. Palpatine uses Anakin’s jealousy and anger at Obi for breaking the rules and taking what he felt was his as the wedge to shoehorn himself into the equation and turn Anakin against Obi. Most of the same would transpire except Padme wouldn’t be at Mustafar. Afterwards she and Obi would probably go on the run / begin resistance efforts etc. assuming she survives and Anakin didn’t kill her somehow bc if he can’t have her no one can etc.
AU where Padme survives and Obi travels with her and the twins to remote places in the galaxy to help her raise them and protect them. Romance may or may not ensue.
AU where Padme survives but the twins are still adopted for their protection and Padme & Obi work together to bolster ongoing resistance and help save force sensitives etc.
AU for OG verses where Ben doesn’t sacrifice himself and managed to escape with Luke et al and works to train Luke and or Leia and be with them to advise them and help.
Canonical storyline threads with other Jedi, padawans, other force users; confrontations with the Sith, the night sisters, threads where Obi is being the Jedi he is, solving problems handling negotiations etc. threads with senators or politicians or on planets where he’s helping refugees or helping teach agricultural or construction skills or whatever. Just. More things. Even with all the books and movies and shows of the prequel and post prequel content there’s so much more to explore with him.
Of course more interactions with Anakins, Padme’s, Palpatines, Bails, Ahsoka, Mace, Maul, Yoda like. More things with the people in his daily life.
Friends with benefits.
I’m sure there will be more here soon.

things i can't stop thinking about after having swung around sabers in jedi tunics for awhile, in no particular order:
1. watching the prequels 'dear gods, someone get these people some velcro to stick those tabards in place'
2.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Picture of Obi-Wan Kenobi's Revenge of the Sith lightsaber, with the control box circled and an arrow pointing to it in purple /End ID]
what the heck is this, obi-wan?? this is horrible. how do you swing your saber around like that?
3. the real miracle of star wars is obi-wan's lightsaber not getting smashed into little bits falling from who-knows-how-far-up onto solid rock on utapau
addendum to point 3: somewhere there is an au where obi-wan's saber falls like two feet to the right and just shatters cody's helmet on impact. cody might have an extra gnarly scar from it, but hey at least order 66 was averted cause he was in no condition to take orders from palpatine, right?
4. food capsules

📓 !!
Put "📓" or some other version of a book emoji into my inbox and I'll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven't written but daydream about.
Ok so!!! Since it's been on my mind a lot lately I'm going to talk about what I call either the "Jango-lives Mandalorian AU" or the "Mandalorian takes place during the Empire AU" (working title Stars Aligned Differently). It's basically what it says on the tin, except it's also a sprawling epic with two "books" and a possible prequel story collection!
It's actually inspired by this fic! (Chapter 1 specifically.) It started with the idea of Boba bringing Din and Grogu home to Jango and Obi-Wan and the twins after meeting him on a hunt. The twins are 13, Boba and Din mid-20s. Because I started planning this before TBOBF aired, it was based a lot on legends Boba's design, specifically the part where he's missing half a leg. (He lost it to a Krayt dragon a few years earlier. It tore up his helmet, too, and he keeps that on display in his room.)
Obi-Wan and Jango have a little farm (Jango makes a joke to Din about how the name Fett comes from vhett, Mando'a for farmer). There is a Jedi healer there too (I haven't decided if they'llbe a cabon characteror an OC), and a few Jedi younglings, force-sensetive kids Jango and Obi-Wan picked up before settling there, as well as other orphans who aren't force-sensetive, and running a mildly religious orphanage is their cover. Obi-Wan and the healer are their teachers, and Jango stays to guard them, leaving Boba as the main provider through bounty hunting. Din chooses to stay with them, and officially adopts Grogu, even though Grogu is with other Jedi now. He and Boba go on hunts together. They grow closer and fall in love, and that's the bulk of the first "book".
Then the events at the end of Mando S2 happen. While the main cast is on Illum so the twins can get their lighsaber crystals, the Empire shows up, takes Grogu, and destroys their ship, leaving them stranded. Jango and Boba fix the long-range comm and contact the rebels, while Obi-Wan and the twins reach out through the force. A lot of clones are working with the rebellion, and Rex goes to help them, along with Omera and Cara, who met Din previously and want to help. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan reaches Ahsoka, who also comes to their aid. Everyone agrees to help get Grogu back from the Empire. They still have to break into the Empire's systems to find the location, and Din still has to remove his helmet and is seen by Empire soldiers.
Now, you have to understand. There's A Lot that happened prior to this fic, and that backstory would be slowly revealed throughout the fic (and then fleshed out further in a prequel story collection, published later). But the big thing is, Jango was under Sith mind control when he agreed to make the clone army, and when he was freed from it he began helping the war effort on the side of the Republic. When Obi-Wan arrived on Kamino he realized something wasn't right, and he was able to knock Jango out and bring him to the temple for mindhealing. (He took Boba too, who at the time thought he and his father were prisoners and kept trying to break out or kill his captors, despite being ten years old.) Once Jango woke up free from the mind control, he and Boba stayed in the temple or on the war ships, mostly with Obi-Wan, and Jango worked with the Jedi and some elite clone commandos to fight the seperatists. Boba was close with Ahsoka and Anakin and regarded them as his older siblings.
Jango was able to remember enough from his time under mind control to know something was wrong and worked with Obi-Wan to figure out what that was, but because they didn't know who was behind it all and didn't want to tip them off that they knew the plan by having the entire GAR put down for brain surgery, the chips were removed slowly, battalion by battalion, and Order-66 was averted partially, but not entirely. When Anakin fell and killed the younglings in the temple, Boba heard the screaming but arrived too late to stop it. (He has a lot of guilt after learning Grogu survived that, wishing he could have stopped it, even though he was only 13 at the time.) Anakin tried to kill Boba too, but was stopped by the arrival of Obi-Wan, Jango, and the de-chipped clones, whom Boba had called before going to investigate. Anakin escaped capture and became Vader. Everyone knows his identity.
So. Grogu is on Vader's flagship. The Emperor is coming, and they need to save Grogu before he arrives and they have to fight two Sith. When they reach the ship, Din goes to get Grogu while Obi-Wan and Ahsoka fight Vader, and everyone else deals with the storm troopers. Boba and the twins reach the bridge and take control, and they see that Vader is getting the best of Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. The twins go to help, while Boba tries to pilot the ship away so no empire reinforcements can reach them.
But it's too late. The Emperor's ship arrives. The Emperor is killing everyone, torturing them with lightning while Vader watches, just like in RoTJ. Boba runs from the bridge to reach them. He knows he can't stop the Emperor, but he pleads with Vader, if there's anything left of his ori'vod, reminding him that at one point he would have died for Obi-Wan or Ahsoka, and that his children are all that's left of Padme.
Vader turns on the Emperor. He's mortally wounded, but the Emperor is driven back, forced to retreat in his own ship. As Vader lies dying, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and the twins approach him to say their good-byes, recognizing that he made a choice in the end to turn away from the Dark Side.
Din arrives with Grogu and the Darksaber as this is happening. Jango and Boba see that he has the Darksaber. Everyone goes back to the farm to recover before going their seperate ways again (the rebellion is taking Vader's flahship). They drink a lot, half in celebration, half in mourning. Boba, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Rex have a lot of complicated feelings about Anakin, as do the twins, who only know of Vader as an abstract monster and Anakin as the one who saved them from the Emperor. In this story, Alderaan was not destroyed (because there's no Death Star yet), but did have a chunk blown out of it that killed millions, so Cara and Omera don't see why anyone would mourn for Vader. Jango feels some sympathy for Anakin, since he was also under Sith mind control of a sort, but he also believes that one act is not enough for a redemption.
Obi-Wan tells Boba that Anakin wanted Boba to have his old lightsaber, which Anakin had been trying to teach Boba to use before he fell, and which Obi-Wan has been holding onto. Boba doesn't want it, because his last memory of it is Anakin turning it against him. Din realizes the Darksaber must be a Jedi weapon and tries to give it to Obi-Wan, who refuses to take it. Boba explains the significance of the Darksaber to the Mandalorians, but Din doesn't want the responsibility- he just wants to stay with his family.
Thus closes Book 1.
Book 2 involves Mand'alor Jango, re-taking planet Mandalore, officially recognizing the clones as Mandalorian citizens, a Mandalorian jedi temple, reuniting Din with his tribe, lots of headcanons about Din's tribe (in my version they pre-date Death Watch and regard mand'alor as a religious position! ("soul" ruler, not "sole" ruler)), killing the Emperor, and freeing the clones who still have chips. If you're interested I can give more details, but this is already fairly long so I'll end this one here!

March recs
All Star Wars again! I did a lot of reading-by-author last month, so for a few I’ve fully-recced my favorite and then listed other reads below. Cheating, I know, but I do what I want! Five recs (+ author bonus recs) above the cut, seven underneath.
Tumblr media
Flotsam and Jetsam by @glimmerglanger (Cody/Obi-Wan)
A creature had not washed out of the sea to garner the hungry attention of the birds. A man lay sprawled across the sands, though he was not, Obi-Wan noted, cold spreading down his arms to his hands and through his guts, quite a man in the way Obi-Wan had grown to expect.
He looked...as expected from perhaps the waist up, though he was face-down in the sand, so it was hard to be sure. His back was broad; he had one arm stretched out across the sand, fingers - webbed fingers - curled loosely, sand sticking to his dark skin.
OR, the merman!Cody with shell-shocked and living-by-the-sea Obi-Wan fic.
I loved this so much I’ve already read it twice! It really struck the perfect balance between ‘make this character suffer’ and ‘make this character competent’ that I crave as a h/c aficionada, on top of being a gorgeous romance and wrenching story about war and trauma and loneliness. I would honestly recommend this to anyone, as it’s quite accessible even if you’re unfamiliar with canon.
also by this author: glimmerglanger has a ton of great work, especially if you like h/c, kink, and AUs (canon and otherwise), and I did plow my way through their entire backlog last month with delight, but some favorites:
(hit me) with your heart - in which Cody accidentally walks in on Obi-Wan and figures out some of his kinks; hilarious, then hot, and then an unique Order 66 fix-it A Treatise on Breaking and Repairs - very good but brutal AU post-ROTS where Vader captures and tortures Obi-Wan using mind-controlled Cody and the 212th, but with plenty of catharsis and comfort to balance the hurt Make Your Bed (Lie in It) - Cody/Obi-Wan bedsharing during the war: pining, hurt/comfort, and then an Order 66 AU (but not full fix-it) For Safekeeping - this is probably not to exeryone's tastes but I'm mildly obsessed with this weirdly sweet Sith AU a/b/o Obi-Wan/Cody/212th gangbang? embrace your id, give it a try Standing Vigil - lovely five-things character study by way of Obi-Wan doing bedside vigils over the years
Dielectric Breakdown by @jessepinwheel (gen)
Cody had always believed the best of his General--strong, steadfast, and loyal. That is, until Obi-Wan suddenly assassinated the Supreme Chancellor and vanished without a trace, leaving the Republic scrambling in the fallout.
Five years later, Cody is still trying to pick up the pieces and understand why Obi-Wan betrayed them all.
Prepare to get emotionally wrecked in all the best ways by this story, which is part casefile as Cody investigates and part gorgeous look at the complicated brotherhood of the clones, and their Jedi. Definitely on the bittersweet side since even with the massive tragedy of canon averted, the war left plenty of smaller ones in its wake, but the ending is hopeful and just right.
also by this author - Parallel Processing (gen), in which Obi-Wan from another universe where he stayed in the Agricorps shows up during the Clone Wars. For a story that’s all about kindness and comfort, the differences between the universes will absolutely gut you with feelings.
Melt by @smilebackwards (Din/Luke)
“You haven’t given him your clan signet,” the Armorer says bluntly when Din visits her. Of course the latest episode in his faltering courtship has reached her ears. “Anyone is free to make an offer until a signet is given and accepted.”
“I know,” Din says.
The sequel to Thaw (by @andthepeople) that I 10000% needed in my life! If you have not read Thaw, first PLEASE go treat yourself to that AU where Vader captured Luke after their Cloud City duel, and THEN read this gorgeous followup where Luke has space to heal, rescue Han, and get the best proposal from Din that you could possibly want. <3333
also by this author: first choice, AU series in which the clones get to choose their Jedi generals at the start of the war. SO charming.
The Longest Distance by SpaceWall (Cody/Obi-Wan)
A series of strange dreams lead Cody to question everything he thinks he knows about his past, his present, and his future. Trusting in himself, and those around him, may be the hardest part.
Fix-it by way of Cody getting prophetic dreams! Really good and unique, with the dreams serving as mini-AUs along the way. I loved the friendship that develops between Cody and Anakin in this, which surprised me in the best way.
also by this author: Lost and Found (Cody/Obi-Wan + various), a fun soulmate AU where objects that one soulmate loses show up in the vicinity of the other. This plays out in particularly interesting ways with the clones.
Spring in Hell (and everything's blooming) by blackkat / @blackkatmagic   (Rex/Jon)
Jon Antilles has spent most of the war keeping his head down and staying out of the fighting. But when he and Fay find evidence of a new bioweapon going to production on a Separatist planet, they move to destroy it rather than let it be deployed against the clone armies. Dooku's presence is an unexpected complication, and rather than break cover, Jon lets himself be captured and thrown in the Count's personal dungeon.
He's not the only one there, however. Rex and his men have also been captured, and they're not about to trust a stranger in their midst. Jon has to pick between keeping out of the war the way he has been or rescuing the clones, blowing his cover and losing the freedom he's fought so hard for.
All I know about Jon Antilles comes from Wookiepedia - apparently he was in like one comic? yeah - but this author latched onto him as their h/c darling and I support them because he’s excellent in that capacity and my favorite kind of competent disaster. This particular story is a well-tuned slow burn of trust and care between prisoners as they try to make it through with bodies and souls and family intact.
Fallen Legends by GreySilhouette (gen) - fascinating AU taking off from The Wrong Jedi arc, where Anakin doesn't find Ventress and Obi-Wan ends up breaking Ahsoka out to prevent her execution. A bit open-ended since the author planned a sequel that never happened, but very enjoyable fugitive action-adventure regardless.
Tell Me No Tales by seastruck (Cody/Obi-Wan) - I rarely recommend WIPs, and this one is likely abandoned, but what exists is SO GOOD and ends at a decent point. After his chip breaks, Cody becomes an inside man for the Rebellion, and as he navigates those pitfalls, you slowly discover that this universe is an AU in some really interesting ways. Nails the emotions and action and spy intrigues with equal deftness.
in our hearts some ancient song by whimsicalimages (Cody/Obi-Wan) - in which Fives gets to Cody instead of Anakin, and is listened to. Great plotty fix-it.
Suffer My Devotion by galateaGalvanized (Cody/Obi-Wan) - in which Obi-Wan hiding on Tatooine gets propositioned by a succubus in Cody’s form, and accepts. There’s no dubcon-y deception, just lots of heartbreak and hotness, and eventually some happiness.
The Garden by Zarz (gen) - this story hinges on one hell of a plot device, but follows through on the consequences beautifully and intelligently as the clones all become force sensitive.
walk by faith/tell no one what you've seen by Killbothtwins (gen) - very enjoyable time travel fix-it with Obi-Wan returning to his padawan days. Kind of a fun YA feel, with optimism and adventure and some big splashy battles.
I've Served My Time In Hell by TheSleepingOne (Cody/Obi-Wan) - zombie AU! Loved the dystopia (humans are always a worse danger than the zombies), the pining, and the translation of the Jedi into a modern setting. Don’t bother with the sequel, it’s unfinished and I wasn’t particularly interested by the direction of the plot tbh.

This is probably random as all hell, but do you have any fic recommendations for "Order 66 never happened/was stopped" AUs? Preferably those that are Jedi Order Friendly
Bold of you to assume I have fanfics that are not Jedi Order friendly (okay, I have a few from when I joined this fandom that were less sympathetic, but never any bashing. Anyhow). I made it some general “the last two hours of ROTS are somehow averted”. i’m a little busy rn to do a deep dive into my bookmarks but here you go
seaglass Anakin Skywalker, twenty two years old, stutters to a halt, face to face with another Anakin Skywalker, eight years old and staring. ****Or, an unexpected conversation with his younger self gives Anakin the perspective he needs to make better choices.
Flipped The second-worst day of Anakin Skywalker’s life is about to get infinitely worse. Palpatine’s a Sith Lord. Master Windu is off to destroy him. And Padmé, Padmé — But then Cody arrives with a de-aged Obi-Wan—a terrified 12-year-old whose last memory is being sent to the AgriCorps. Anakin doesn’t know what to make of this little kid who claims to be Obi-Wan Kenobi, who steals speeders for joyrides and isn’t being trained by Qui-Gon Jinn. Obi-Wan doesn’t know what to make of this strange Master Skywalker, who swears and gushes about starships and can’t seem to sit still. Anakin knows a lot can happen in 24 hours—but this is just a new level of ridiculous
Slip-Up Sidious knows that Anakin will be a wonderful Sith. The boy is already teetering on the edge, lulled to the Dark Side by his careful edging and manipulation. He knows that just a push ever-so-slightly too far will be able to send him spiraling down into the Dark, never to reach back into the light. There is one problem that stands in the way of getting his apprentice: Kenobi. It should be so easy to dispose of him, but it never happens. Maybe on this little “rescue mission,” he’ll finally be able to dispose of that wretched Jedi once and for all.
Simple Steps Galaxy changing events don't just suddenly occur. They are the result of a series of small steps. Now dealing with ROTS.

It’s a decent temperature, I have no errands to run, and the whole obi fic got away from me.
Things to know about that universe:
Everyone lived except Dooku and Palpatine.
Maul, Savage and Feral are together. Maul still has legs, Kenobi just cut him in such a way that he no longer has a belly button. He’s gotten over it. They’re no longer Sith and are off having fun adventures and hugging loth cats and eating popsicles in the park.
Every single clone is fine. They’re all alive. Period. 99 is a war hero and he inspires a galaxy-wide movement to give clones full rights of self-determination. Wrecker gets a job doing pyrotechnics for holo-entertainment. Rex takes a fucking nap.
Anakin does NOT fall to the Dark Side and he and Padme raise Luke and Leia and it’s not perfect because Anakin is a ball of chaos, but it’s home and family and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Auntie Ahsoka is a regular guest.
Order 66 was entirely averted because of the In-universe equivalent of the Y2K issue that no one had planned for, causing all the chips to fail at 00:00:00 Kamino Standard time at a point when the internal calendar in the chips should have turned over, but didn’t.
I write the worst crapsack stuff and it’s been really getting me down. The Star Wars universe isn’t a nice place. This AU, though, is just really nice and everyone can be basically happy.
So, there ya go. Now that I can think I blasted out about 1000 words in the last hour plus this little set of headcanons.

A Cauldron of Love by zimriya (27k)
“Oh for Merlin’s sake, yes,” Niall interrupts finally. “Harry’s been in love with Louis Tomlinson since that time in second year when he went and accidentally peed on him.”
Harry turns to face him, horrified. “Niall!” he squeaks out. “You promised you wouldn’t tell anyone about that!”
Niall just shrugs and wipes his mouth with a napkin. “Aw, come off it, Hazza, was it really a secret?” When Harry doesn’t say anything, he pauses and looks up. “It was?” he says. “Ah, bollocks.”
A Hogwarts AU.
A Harmony of Frost and Flames by londoniscalling (13k)
"He’s passing lockers and whistling a quiet tune when he first smells it. His body comes to a halt and his nostrils flair instinctively, eyes going wide as he registers what the scent resembles.
An omega in heat."
OR
Louis goes into his first heat at school and Harry accidentally puts them into a compromising position.
A Harmony of Frost and Flames Extended Epilogue by londoniscalling (7k)
Sequel to A Harmony of Frost and Flames.
A Long Way From The Playground by nightwideopen (11k)
Louis is a single dad who is having a lonely life crisis and Harry is a doctor that carries around princess band-aids in his pocket.
Scraped knees make grown men bond, apparently.
A Million One, A Million Two (a Hundred More Will Never Do) by LittleLostPieces (42k)
While Harry doesn’t want to spend his final year at Wilshire Academy sharing his space with yet another idiot roommate, he figures he could have ended up with a lot worse than Niall. As the school’s newest scholarship student, Niall provides a fresh perspective on Harry’s privileged life, as well as a grounding presence when Harry’s other friends, Liam and Zayn, are acting like lunatics. Most importantly, though, Niall introduces him to Louis, a cynical townie with zero interest in spending his time around entitled boarding school kids. Convincing Louis that he’s more than a trust fund and a charming smile won’t be easy, but Harry’s never been one to back down from a challenge.
An AU loosely inspired by the short-lived WB drama, Young Americans, and the Gotta Be You music video.
A New Buzz by stylesoftheshire (7k)
‘No way,’ Louis says, shaking his head disbelievingly. ‘Only you would come out to your best friend by making him buy you a fucking dildo.’
The classic tale of how Louis helps Harry purchase a vibrator and later helps him use it.
a prayer for which no words exist by Eliane (34k)
"Louis is a few seconds away from blowing up a rather important section of the New York subway when he sees Harry for the first time."
A Run At The Past by hostagesfic (11k)
Harry doesn’t expect it to happen while Gemma’s in Australia. He’s not lonely, this time, with plenty to do and the adrenaline of the end of tour, the excitement of going back to Japan. And Gemma, of course, her jokes at his expense and her flirting with Niall and her hugs for every occasion, the way she looks like mum when she scolds him half-heartedly. There’s no reason it should happen.
He wakes up in Louis’ bed anyway.
a runaway american dream by dangerbears (15k)
AU. they take route 66 with only each other and their secrets.
a virgin to that money by eversincewefellapart (7k)
AU. Harry and Louis are broke university students who hate each other and make a sex tape. (In which Louis gets fucked a lot, Harry can't find the camera, and the road to falling in love is different for everyone.)
Accidents Happen by lanaboo222 (19k)
Harry is accident prone and Louis is a volunteer minor emergency worker. They meet a lot and things happen.
Ace by aclosetlarryshipper (32k)
It’s real. He can’t keep denying it. Denial has just made things more difficult. Acceptance is the first stage to anything.
Louis sniffles and pulls the sun visor down, flipping it open to reveal the mirror. He stares into his own icy eyes, grimacing at the red rim around the edges.
He tries to say the words, but they still feel too final and condemning.
or
The sexuality crisis you probably haven't read.
Adore You by isthatyoularry (67k)
“We invited our new acquaintances from uptown. You’ve simply got to meet their oldest son!” said his mother with a flourish, and suddenly it became abundantly clear as to why his parents had so adamantly demanded he join them in Deansville for the entirety of the summer.
Against his wishes, Harry spends the holidays at his family’s summer estate, and is reluctantly pulled into a courtship he didn’t ask for. Harry doesn’t want to get married, but Louis does. They don’t fit, but then again they really, really do.
Vaguely set in the 1920’s. Headpieces, jazz, fashionable canes, and flapper dresses, and that.
Ain’t My Fault by afirethatcannotdie (7k)
“Liam, M4M is for sex! You posted in a sex forum about your missing jacket.”
“It is not for sex!”
“It is. Trust me.”
“Well, if it helps me find my jacket then I don’t really see why it matters. Besides, someone already texted me about it. This Styles guy’s coming over in a bit to get it.”
“You invited the avocado man to come get his jacket at our flat after posting on a sex forum. Do you see where this is going?”
“I really don’t.”
“Someone is going to have to have sex with the avocado man!” Louis screeches, and Liam covers his ears.
AU. Liam posts an ad on the wrong section of Craigslist, Louis is pretty sure they’re gonna get murdered as a result, and Harry’s missing an avocado.
all i want for christmas is by crybaby (18k)
With Harry up against his side, his little four year old snuggled in his lap like it’s her favourite place, Louis could really believe they’re a real little family, off to their chalet to spend Christmas in the snow. A real little family where Louis would have the luxury of kissing Harry under mistletoe and rolling around in the fresh snow with him, taking him upstairs to his bedroom and fucking him to keep him warm.
(harry is louis' daughters' au pair. they spend christmas in austria)
all the diamonds you have here by vashtaneradas (22k)
it hits louis now, how fucking close to the precipice they’re standing. or, an au feat. investment banking and children.
All We Have by colourexplosion (6k)
He looks at the person who’s asked him a question and then immediately wishes he hadn’t. He’s beautiful, is the thing, and Harry’s met him before.
“No, sorry,” he says, shaking his head, averting his eyes. It’s an old habit, one he’s gotten better about resisting, but he supposes seeing Louis Tomlinson out in the wild transports him right back to youth club.
“Ah, s’fine really,” Louis says, instead of just walking away like a normal person, “Pretty boy like you shouldn’t be smoking anyway, yeah?”
Harry’s cheeks flood with heat before he can stop it, and he squeezes his eyes shut. Of course. Of course Louis Tomlinson — the boy who basically made Harry realize he’s gay — thinks he’s cute now. Ten years after the fact, and much too late for it to do any good at all.
Or, a 'Grown' au
Always Be My Baby by itsmiz (8k)
Louis isn't looking forward to his birthday, and Harry makes him see that age truly is just a number.
Based on Louis' tweet: 22 is old :(
Always Come Back To You by whoknows (29k)
“I’ll do it,” Harry offers brightly. No one even blinks. “I’ll do it?”
Louis sighs irritably. “Shut up,” he orders, tossing a pillow in the general direction of Harry’s face. This is a terrible time for jokes, especially Harry’s lame, old people ones.
Not that it was an old people joke. Just that most of the time Harry’s jokes consist of knock-knocks or terrible puns. The type of jokes old people like, Louis’ pretty sure. His nan always finds them hilarious when Harry tells her one.
Harry bats the pillow out of the air without even blinking. “Be reasonable, Lou,” he says in his most reasonable voice.
Louis is perfectly reasonable, thank you very much, and he’s also frustrated and upset and tired and he really wants to punch something. Maybe he should have held on to that pillow a little longer.
“You’re not gonna fucking do it,” he snaps. “That’s the last thing I need.”
amaryllis by hattalove (147k)
“Where are we?” “Um. A little while out of London?” Niall tries, seemingly the only one willing to not be mysterious and provide Harry with information, and. Oh. “London London? As in, the capital of England London?” he asks, just in case he’d misheard. “No, the other London,” Louis laughs, low and biting. He comes closer finally, the moonlight just enough to reveal a sharp-cut jaw and pale skin. “Sorry, Pup.” Nobody’s ever called Harry a “pup”. Frankly, he finds it quite insulting, but he lets it slide to try and comprehend his current crisis.
or the one where harry gets bitten by a werewolf. louis is the mysterious not-quite alpha, liam and zayn have Things going on, niall is their token human, and together, they watch a lot of TV.
And Then A Bit by infinitelymint (159k)
“We’d like to give the fans what they want.” Magee states, placing his hand on the table in front of him and leaning forward. “We want to give them Larry Stylinson.”
Or, take a parallel universe where Louis and Harry were never together, mix in a two year hiatus and an impending comeback, pour in a dash of lost fans, two tablespoons of strong friendship and a Modest! employee with a good idea. Add a squeeze of pretending to be a couple, lots of kisses and a tattoo or two. Stir. Serve: the mother of all publicity stunts.
(aka Harry and Louis fake a relationship for publicity. Eventually it becomes a lot less fake and a lot more real.)
anything plain can be lovely by el_em_en_oh_pee (5k)
Harry sees Louis - like, really sees Louis - again for the first time in his mid-thirties. (a grew-up-together AU)
Around the World by orphan_account (6k)
“Could you–” Harry breaks off, gasping as Louis leans in to bite the sensitive skin just under Harry’s jaw, a favourite spot of Harry’s. “Could you, y’know, in French?”
“Could I what, H?” Louis asks, peppering kisses underneath Harry’s jaw and trailing them up to his lips.
“Dirty talk,” Harry says in an exhale.
Or, Louis dirty talks in French. Kind of.
Autumn At My Window by TheCellarDoor (20k)
A canon-compliant AU, in which Harry and Louis are both in the band and have been sharing flats and hotel rooms for nearly five years, but never made the leap past 'friends who are too close for comfort'.
Featuring a lot of pining, Louis' addiction to Harry's scent, and a whole lot of sexual tension that might just snap loose when they decide to spend some time together all on their own.
