MuraHimu for the character ask <3
vomit / don’t ship / okay / cute / adorable / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
I’m not super involved in either of the characters (as you may know) but personally I don’t really see the appeal. I don’t think Himuro and Mura have anything else in common besides being stuck with each other; they seem to have fundamentally different vibes, ambitions, personalities, approaches and temperaments. And I believe in opposites attract, but they aren’t even opposites, just different, you know? They just happen to be there for each other, and while that’s a pretty realistic way of life, I don’t really sense that kind of spark. MuraHimu to me feels like saying “yeah I need more gay ships, preferably with those good looking fellas, so why don’t we just uhhhhhhh ship them together?” p lazy

Hooray for Asks~!

Just read the new chapter of AW! It was great! Finally we got to know what the deal is with Himuro. Question though: He's feeling pain because of affection, right? Because he feels affection? Or because someone feels affection for him? Wouldn't he be in constant pain either way? Or does it strictly refer to romantic affection? Hm, I guess you could focus on individual relationships now? Get them together in smaller groups and let them explore dynamics? Maybe also work on another larger conflict? Maybe explain the motivation of some charas, like letting Midorima and Akashi discuss the future of their 'guests' or something. Or maybe work on the romance and let Himuro and Murasakibara talk about their feelings? The story is probably going to unfold at this place, right? So maybe look for a reason that makes Kagami and Himuro stay or maybe a way to incorporate the other charas? Anyway, why didn't Murasakibara just follow Himuro? Was he able to conceal himself? Magic? Or are the GOM stuck?
I am very glad you asked (there were two, so i just condensed them)! I LOVE answering questions!
Now, obviously, I cannot reveal all my secrets (mostly cause I’m not entirely sure what’s even going on myself~) so I will answer what I can! Despite being somewhat out of order, I will be answering these in the order in which they appear in the ask~
First off: yes—the lines on his skin is his body literally tearing him apart because he’s feeling affection. For the most part, he has a handle on it through training and his own magic, but sometimes—in the case of Kagami drowning—he can’t obviously hide it and push it down. Or, alternatively, he can open up to his emotions, essentially accepting they’re there and he has them, and can WILL the lines. As it’s painful, he doesn’t do this often. While he is almost always feeling affection to some degree for his friends, this is a different level of affection, reserved only for life-partners and family. I’ll be getting more into his family (and why his parents aren’t together for that matter) a little later as it’ll be important for the breaking of said curse. :D
Individual relationships—and how they’ll be forming in the coming days—is going to be a major part of this. Perhaps not the relationships Himuro has with others, but as a whole for the story. The smaller groups is a thing that’s already beginning to take place—but perhaps that’s only obvious to me because I know what’s going on. For the most part, Aomine and Momoi stick together, and up to this point, Murasakibara’s been joining them, and they’ve been closest to Kagami. Now that Kise’s thrown in the mix, he’ll be joining up with them and Murasakibara’s ditching out to hang on Himuro, who suffers and watches form the sidelines if he can manage it. Right now he’s the center of attention, but that’ll change soon enough.  Midorima and Takao are sticking together, but if Himuro’s around, Takao has no problems joining up with him—which leaves Midorima to awkwardly join or chill with Akashi. When I introduce the last of our awaited characters, those groups will be reshuffled around to reflect the balances between each of the groups. Some will have more, simply based on these original groups, or they’ll be broken up further or simply pairs.
While MuraHimu is the starting point of this story, once their issues are resolved, there’ll be much less conflict around them. As Himuro knows this world, there’s not as big of a deal for him to be in it. He’s been on the fringes of it—due to his family curse—but involved nonetheless through his parents and Alex. What’s gonna be really fun is throwing Kasamatsu, Furihata, and Kuroko into this, since they aren’t associated in any way, shape or form (…well, mostly).
Motivation wise, yes. We’ll be going into that. Someone commented and brought up their anger towards the GoM for their behavior towards Kagami and Tatsuya’s refusal to accept any form of blame in this whole mess, and I mean to explore that a little further too. I’m sure everyone’s probably tired of me bringing up Kagami’s anger towards them, and their nonchalance now that’s its over, but it’s a major issue I want to make apparent: what they did is NOT okay and while in their world, this level of pettiness isn’t unusual—common, actually, for the most part—Kagami does not accept their half-hearted apologies. Their lack of remorse pisses him off too, given they’re mostly apologizing for trying to drown “Himuro’s brother,” as opposed to feeling anything for almost killing Kagami; they’re more concerned with how upset Himuro was. Momoi is better at actually feeling bad, but the rest… in this case, I suppose they still have some Teiko behaviors they never grew out of.
Now that’s it’s been brought to the light, Himuro will be more willing to talk with Murasakibara, if only to explain himself and express his apologies. He does feel bad for breaking Mura’s heart, but his panic and immediate response to flee was warranted: his skin was tearing open, he felt like he was burning from the inside, and he was bleeding, yes of-course he would panic. He didn’t stay to explain, more concerned with getting back to his family so they could explain what the hell was going on. His father was not pleased to learn everything he tried to prepare his son for was forgotten because of teenage hormones, but that’s something you’ll see in a bit.
Everything will be going from here, yes, and it’s gonna be fun~
Ahahaha, yeah, Kagami ain’t sticking around any longer than he has to. First change they get, they’re out. While Himuro has dealt with his demons and accepted his feelings, it doesn’t mean he wants to stick around, no matter how much he likes Mura. He doesn’t like feeling pain, and he’d rather just return to his normal life and finish his degree. Of-course, now that the GoM know the feeling’s mutual, they’ll be trying their hardest, and once the rest enter, things are gonna get interesting.
Mura would have LOVED to follow Himuro, but, well, 1. He was still in high school, a second-year to be exact. 2. Akashi would have never let him leave their town to follow after some guy who broke his heart 3. He didn’t even know where Himuro lived, so he couldn’t have followed, even if he wanted. So he pined. Aggressively. For like 3 months. Given Mura’s heritage, his true form would have been a little harder to hide, but he’s also lazy, so he doesn’t like practicing using it. His current height at age 20 is his actual height: 7’ 2”. Tall, and enough to cause fair enough awe on its own. So he wouldn’t exactly be subtle, if he didn’t want to alert Himuro he was around and have him run again.
They can all use magic to an extent, some more than others given their family lines. Momoi is the best at using it externally, but Takao, surprisingly, is the best to use his to hide himself. Mura honestly doesn’t try hard, and the rest are adept at concealing themselves. They prefer their more human side, than their mythical.
It’s not so much that they’re stuck, but rather they’ll okay where they are and to leave would mean being around a lot more people who don’t know their culture. Their town is locked, you could say: outsiders can’t get in. There’s an aura surrounding it, hiding it and making humans uncomfortable. If some do stumble upon it, they leave soon enough because of that feeling—think of the Faerie realms and how humans immediately know something is up. When Kagami and Himuro showed up, they thought Himuro brought him because Kagami is too human to have felt the shift.  They can leave—and have in the past—but it’s more that they know what’s up there and they’d rather not have to deal with other things. It’s not to say others don’t live there, Alex and Himuro’s family is proof that they don’t, its just a large congregation of others like them. Most can be more comfortable there, able to at-least drop their disguises, but some also feel paranoid—surrounded by others like them, they know there are others around who could hurt them. Himuro’s family vacationed the one time and they won’t be going back any time soon. Akashi’s father, however, rarely visits because he’s busy running his empire—he’d like to be back among those like him, but he takes pleasure in controlling his conglomerate and crushing his competition too much to take long vacations.
And, that’s everything (I think~)
Thanks for asking~!!
