Tommie’s Book Reviews!!
I’ve been reading a lot and hopefully I can keep up this pace so I thought I’d compile my thoughts and opinions in one place and show people what I’m reading idk we’ll see how long we keep this up.
Rating scale is gonna be out of 5. If people are interested (it could literally be one person) I’ll make another post about how I come up ratings and how I annotate and stuff like that.
All for the Game ⭐️⭐️
Reading this series was a ride. The whole thing feels like the draft of a draft. Or like bad fanfic for a series I’ll never get to read. So many things are just completely unrealistic and had no grounding in reality. I don’t know if enjoyed was the right word for how I felt while reading it but in some sort of weird stockholm syndrome way I would read it again. At times it felt like trauma porn I won’t lie. If you’re going to read please look up trigger warnings. There were a number of times where I had to put the book down because of the content. Overall, I’d say the series had a lot of potential but every time it just fell flat and I think that’s why I’m kind of hyper-fixated on in right now. I’m stuck on what could’ve been. I’m excited to consume all the fan content for it.
TFC ⭐️⭐️ - There was a good foundation here and the story was compelling but the ball was consistently dropped and so the story kind of crumbled. The characters feel like empty shells. Like there were pieces missing from them.
TRK ⭐️ - If I reread this series I’m skipping this one in it’s entirety. I hated every second of it.
TKM ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - This one took me a while to get through but honestly I enjoyed it a lot more than the others. I wish there was a better build up earlier in the series for the main relationship in the book so that I would root for them more but some moments they shared together were sweet. The ending wasn’t satisfying at all.
