jeg er så støl etter å ha vært på dansetime og hooptime i går, så pole dans trening i dag. jeg har nok en poledanstime i kveld, så tar jeg en pause fra aerial i to dager. i stedet skal jeg gå tur på fredag, så lørdag skal jeg gå 5km til testsenteret for å ta bergenstesten (og så 5km tilbake, så klart). og da blir det aerialtrening på søndag før jeg drar tilbake til storbritannia mandag. jeg tror jeg kommer til å sove veldig bra natta til mandag!

Sport Internship BSPB305 - Entry 9: Create a ‘publication-ready’, Quarter Times article.
Working at Basketball Victoria was one of the best experiences of my life. This opportunity provided me with a great idea of what it’s like to work in the sporting industry, but also the industry for the sport that I live and breathe basketball.
Community programs that I got the opportunity to experience as a kid for example Hooptime, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to help organise and run at multiple different locations with many different schools and kids. This was an amazing experience for me as I got to give back to the sport that I grew up loving and playing throughout my childhood.
Being a part of the new up and coming programs that are being produced and introduced by Basketball Victoria with the 3v3 Skills Challenge tournaments was also an amazing experience. Having the opportunity to organise, run and be a part of the potential future style of basketball for kids is something that I have always dreamed about.
Getting to know people from the various different departments at Basketball Victoria to be able to pick their brains about what they do with the organisation to help everything run as smoothly as possible was eye opening. Seeing the organisation from a behind the scenes perspective was great because of the passion that everyone at this organisation has for the sport and the desire to put on the best possible events, services etc is truly remarkable.
My studies has been an up and down roller coaster with Covid hitting at the start of my course it made things more difficult than anticipated. The transition to online learning certainly was hard as I did find in-person learning more practical and easier for myself. But I did get used to online learning the more I went through it and made the most of it as everyone was doing the best they could under those circumstances.
Overall the Sports Business course has been better than anticipated as I got to branch out into areas I didn’t think would be covered in this course like for example creating social media mock videos for social media plans, mock sponsorship deals etc. I am so glad I continued to persevere with this course to finish off the full degree and I am very happy with the new knowledge, skillset I now have and the experience I have gathered during my time in this course at Holmesglen.
My ambition is to be in the sporting industry in some way shape or form in the near future, but at this current moment I am open to all opportunities thrown my way to gain as much experience as possible. If I do end up working in the sport that would be amazing and even better if it's with the sport I love which is basketball, but I will be happy with whatever opportunities are thrown my way.
I would happily recommend the Sports Business course and Holmesglen to anyone thinking of an alternative pathway for whatever their dream job and ambitions are.

Feels good to be where I am, back in my body and at my healthy weight at 125 again! Two years ago in was fighting to come back from losing weight, down to 102 and not on purpose. Sport Internship BSPB305 - Entry 5: Achievements and milestones (both technically and professionally, during the internship and personally).
A massive achievement and milestone for me personally was that I have had the opportunity to run and manage 10 different tournaments associated with Basketball Victoria. 3 of these tournaments were FIBA 3v3 tournaments and the other 7 tournaments were school Hooptime tournaments. 3 Hooptime tournaments were either All Star level or Future Stars level, and the other 4 Hooptime tournaments were at Dandenong stadium which were State level All Stars and Future Stars games.
This was an amazing experience for me because I got to experience all different age groups ranging from 10 years old to 18 years of age. I also got the opportunity to watch these games in which there were kids who were fairly new to the sport in Hooptime and older kids who played higher levels of representative or state basketball.
Being able to push myself outside my comfort zone by learning new things to do with data entry and the back end of sporting tournaments was a big milestone for me. And pushing through mistakes that I made in the process to overcome and complete these tasks was for me personally a massive goal to achieve.
Being able to help out with state finals for Hooptime was a big achievement for me because I always loved this competition when I was a kid. Being able to play a role in the organisation to set up this tournament and to see how much fun these kids had just like I did when I was a kid was a massive achievement for me as I was there to help with putting on a great show and make it all possible for these kids.
In this table below, this represents what type of tournament I helped organise run and how many of them I did. This table represents a big milestone for pushing myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to get as much experience as possible during my time with Basketball Victoria to develop upon my skill set.
