If you're not too busy, would you mind listing some of the things you think count as death flags for Mr. Spender?

There's the obvious fact that he's the "old" mentor to group of young protagonists, but what else do you think would count?

OHH BOY ok so I'd think I'm a crackpot for this but since we're talking about Zack "Foreshadowing" Morrison. I have some thoughts

No harm in leading with the (chronologically) first thing that jumped out at me:

This one IMMEDIATELY made me antsy whenever I came back to it after my initial read, and considering Zack has referred to it on twitter in the past as one of their favorite jokes it's definitely not been forgotten about.

Second, the sheer amounts of near-misses, jokey or not, of Spender narrowly avoiding specifically lightning

Again, not much, but it's weird that it happened thrice, latter two of which had real gravitas rather than an one-off joke.

And third, Spender himself. He's repeatedly shown himself to be kind of a self sacrificing idiot, as well as prideful to a fault. Granted, it's both him and Mina trying to take on all the responsibility of saving Mayview and its inhabitants from their fate.. But Spender is exactly that right measure of doesn't-value-himself-enough (chest footprint aftercare or lack thereof), having an obscene amount of power (enables his loner act + pride) and poor judgement that has the capacity to put him at great risk. And it has!

Spender has not only shown low enough self-esteem to view himself as the de-facto scapegoat for the safety of the town, but also prideful enough to make very bad calls that end up in people, often himself, hurt (COUGH FORGE INCIDENT COUGH)

This is all conjecture, but it's definitely enough to make me worried about him :') Even if all this doesn't mean he'll necessarily die he's definitely getting (even more) seriously injured at some point. I love the guy but he's so far doing a horrible job of convincing me he wants to live bad enough to circumvent at least that

Just saw the fnaf movie and I am literally so glad that my favorite stupid fucking bastard was in the movie and we got a springlock failure scene like was the movie the greatest no but I got exactly what I wanted so goddamn it I'm gonna be happy about it

Hi Nina! I know we can't know too much about the side characters, but are there any crumbs you can tell us about?

oooh!!! honestly i love all the rm side characters -- and by that i mean like...75% of the characters in south park because for some reason i decided to put like all of them in rm, which is such a nightmare smh.

but hmmmmm....okay. so there's a kyle-centric side plot i really like in rm that shows up pretty soon ( that's why i'm not that worried about talking about it ) that is basically sort of kyle's legally blonde / righteously readhead moment where kyle's crimina laur professor AKA mr. motherfucking mackey, Babey! puts out this batshit insane, hard ass, ball-busting, literally Impossible To Pass midterm from hell, mmkay? and the 4 students that score the highest on the exam get to work with him on a pro-bono real life case out there in the world.

& the students that score the highest, better known as Jersey's Lawyer Core Four, ( yes, theyre a ragtag group of misfits, no they do not work well together/like each other v much at first ) are as follows:

...everyone assumes got chosen because clyde's father essentially runs the university and his mother was a Crazy Talented Lawyer Lady who became the world's youngest supreme court justice before she passed -- i want to say clyde either indirectly caused/was present when she died and his father never forgave him/resented him for it...

but uhhhhh actually he just filled in the scantron in the shape of a Dinosaur and scored ONE POINT HIGHER THAN KYLE....do u know how MAD kyle was??? ohhhmg he was like yOU MUSTVE CHEATED YOU DONT DESERVE TO BE HERE U FUCKEN HALFWIT kyle is about to strangle clyde during the entire fanfiction smh i love the lawyer side plot so much hes like constantly running from kyle oof

so uhhhh heidi works at grounded with kyle!!! i dont have her fleshed out but obvi she is our environmental law erin brockovich crunchy granola queen. her hair goes down to her ass...always smoking that grass...she is pagan, very good friends with tweek ( witchy legends ), she wears a lot of big funky statement jewelry, v sweet, v shy, but is at every single campus protest, lesbian but uh...cant talk to girls...

particularly one girl...with cool dyed red hair and a really cool sternum tattoo...who bartends at the lesbian bar and sometimes plays really kick ass indie rock music/is currently tryin to make it big like crimson dawn...possibly half peruvian and cousins w/craig. anyways! heidi is very lovely and kyle actually likes her very much because she lowkey reminds him of stan and marjorine combined into one person so he is very scary older brother overprotective of her bc shes his baby gay law student little sister and a strong breeze will blow her over....smh.

and finally, tolkien black is in a similar boat as kyle where there was a lot of pressure for him to fall into a certain profession but i think that tolkiens dad in the rm verse was like a very famous director and his mom was also involved in acting/film industry ( i think he may actually know raven/co. bc his dad helped direct their music vids ). tldr; tolkiens family is v affluent, indulgent and Rich Rich. like richer than fkn god like i think he was delivered on a yacht tbh. That RICH.

and tolkien was supposed to just fall into that role of acting...but has no interest in following in his parents footsteps/using them to make a name for himself or pretending to be someone hes not for that matter ( and just to pay homage to the show, i might have it so he changed his name from token to tolkien bc token was vapid ) and wanted to become a lawyer bc hes passionate abt pro-bono cases, specifically public defending/helping people who don't have help.

he has a very generous and gorgeous soul, the inside matches the outside tbh...him and kyle dress the best ( heidi is very light, airy, flowy shirts & long skirts, clyde is sloppy frat boy outfits/backwards hat/reps his fraternity [ hes president ], tolkien is kind of chill, casual, understated ( he also has dreads hes so fine ) not flashy but sort of effortlessly put together and kyle is giving crazy dead 1920s evil dark academia tired classics professor realness...hes so hot pls i luv him DREAM TEAM...NIGHTMARE FROM HELL TEAM IF U WILL!!! )

clyde and tolkien also clash and argue a lot in rm/hate each other p much. which uh, in my fanfiction, is v interesting...thats all imma say.

Heart of the Great Wolf has to be my favourite Robb Stark and Jon Snow piece of writing out there. Seriously, the way you capture both of their personalities is so untouchable that it’s ruined others writing for me. I would rather reread HOTGW over and over again then find something new with a mere fraction of what you have going with your story. It’s truly so beautiful, the way you blend beauty and sorrow so wonderfully. You don’t paint one brother to be worse than the other, that it’s just simply a girl with two loves who has lost too much in her life at such a young age. You are such a gifted writer 😭🫶🏼

Their characterizations are the ones I worry the most about, especially now that I am into a post resurrection Jon having to juggle his true character contrasted to what i think resurrection would change about who he is inside. So I appreciate it because I am constantly terrified you guys are going to think I am way off the mark with these characters. I work a lot to think about what i think would realistically play out and why, and write within those in universe consistencies.

Robb was easier I think, since most Robb x Reader x Jon fics that have a Jon endgame, tend to paint Robb in a different light in order to boost the Jon pairing.

I too was going to underplay it. When this series was first being outlined Robb was way less important. He was more an obstacle to get to the plot I wanted, but the more I outlined the more I realized how unfair it would be to do that. Robb is so important to GoT/asoiaf, people seem to forget that when Robb died, the entire country fell into what was essentially a post apocalyptic state of fear. He died and all hope was shattered for the realm, and I think it does him a disservice to not give his relationship that fair treatment. He is smart, and emotional and deeply caring of his people and cause and I wanted to rectify what I thought was an insulting love interest for him in the show. Give him a relationship with the reader, that was real.

Were Robb not to die, they'd still be together. Regardless if Jon was in the plot now or not, Robb and the reader were real and they loved each other with everything they. It's partially why I made the reader spend three years not talking about Jon. Beacuse she didn't want to risk letting him dominate her thoughts with her husband and its tragic beacuse its in chapter 11 'What Lies Beyond the Veil' when she finally has come to accept she can talk about the man she always loved normally with the man she grew to love and not feel guilt, and its the last time. I wrote that entire wedding reception from Robb's point of view beacuse I didn't want any mention of Jon to make it seem like the reader was thinking of him when she died, when no, their deaths were entirely about each other.

It's also why Jon never thought much about Robb in his pre 'What Lies Beyond the Veil' pov's beacuse I never wanted to give off the impression that his jealousy was out of malice. I never wanted it to be Jon feeling like it was him versus his brother. It was just the cards you three were dealt and as much as it burns him to be the one left in the cold he knows that no one actually chose to leave him behind, it was just how it worked out.

I just don't like fics where it's this kind of double pairing, but Robb doesn't feel like he was given a fair chance. A lot tends to feel like I'm just waiting for the Red Wedding to get to the Jon stuff that they want to do instead, when I was dreading getting to it in mine beacuse I didn't want the Robb saga to end yet. I sort of allude to this when Ned said in the first chapter,

"Just because losing Jon hurts, doesn't mean I don't think you aren't willing to love Robb."

And that's the essence of the double pairing, I hated the idea of one brother being seen as the more important relationship then the other, Robb died in chapter 11 by chapter 29 I'm still writing scenes about losing Robb, beacuse it felt disingenuous to paint one brother as the better pairing for the reader then the other. I didn't like the idea of a double pairing being about Jon versus Robb or vice versa.

Just the story of what happens, when your love finds itself equally.

#the orignal outline for chapter 1 had so much more jon but i changed a lot of that to be in flashbacks of later chapters #it needed to be about robb beacuse thats the life you were going to be in and i never wanted Robb to feel like the disposable love interest #and i ended up liking it better with a much bigger robb focus #i knew jon was the slow burn he was always going to get his day in court but robb was the one here and now and i refused to underplay that #i just hope you dont disagree with my characterization of Jon the futher we go #since post ressurection Jon isnt quite the same man as he was before #and I hope I am decent enough to convey my ideas in a realistic manner or that my ideas arent super out of character in general #long post

I ought to have been doing so well money-wise this month but for that week and a half where I couldn't actually access my money except through PayPal I lost so much to DoorDash fees because that was the only way I was able to actually eat, since I wasn't able to go to the grocery store
