ok so i couldn't watch ordem paranormal quarentena live yesterday but im rotating it in my head at supersonic speeds. here have the reactions and notes i was taking while watching the VODs. i figured i'd just make it all one post since i'm super late to the party and i didn't rly feel like "lag"-blogging. (i am. so tired rn lmao)

What if he'd lived through to the end of the events of FFXII, or even to see her become a Judge Magister in her own right? What might that have changed for Gylfie, either mentally or events-wise?

((ooh, I like this! So... hmm. Well, for starters, Mt. Bur-Omisace. It could go two ways, though there's one way I prefer over the other, heh. The one I prefer less is that Takrin doesn't die, and Gylfie is forced to go on the run with Ashe & Co because she turned against him and Bergan. He could return to Archades, claiming that Drace's treachery had spread even to his daughter, and would ultimately put more pressure on Gabranth since he's now the only one able to protect Larsa, given that Gylfie no longer has the option of returning to the Empire.

Now, the other way I can see it going, is that... Gylfie doesn't stay behind on Bur-Omiscace with Takrin and Bergan. She wants to, because she doesn't trust her father or Bergan and wants to know what they're planning, but maybe Gabranth orders her to stay with him and Zargabaath once they collect Larsa. Maybe he's afraid he'll lose her, too, and needs someone around he can still trust. She listens to him (the hound's pup always follows), and Takrin escapes as the only survivor. He'd pin the blame on Ashe & Co (and Al-Cid), because, as much as he disdains Bergan, Bergan was an ally of Vayne's, and Takrin is ever faithful. He wouldn't tell what Bergan had done or what he had become, and would serve Vayne loyally - eager to continue Archadia's bloody expansion to the west.

Obviously, this means another obstacle for both Gabranth and Gylfie, though... I honestly see Takrin staying close to Vayne. I don't think he'd actually pose as an active threat until the showdown on the Bahamut, though, actually, he'd probably just follow in his own airship with his fleet in tow, much like Zargabaath. That could change because, uh... fun fact, I still haven't finished watching ffxii sfdgjhfsd - hopefully this weekend? I was gonna do it tonight but I also wanted to get things done, and I couldn't do that while distracted with watching the movie xD

Anyway, how I have it in mind, is that Takrin would follow with his own fleet, which means he can still remain Judge Magister when everything is said and done. Why? Because he, like Zargabaath, was following the Emperor. They fought for Archadia and were following Vayne's orders like the good Judge Magisters they are. Now, of course, with Zargabaath, he means well despite how his by-the-books approach to his duties can cause more harm than good, and... Takrin doesn't, heh. But, with Takrin alive and still in power, Gylfie would take over Drace's bureau instead of her father's. Which... ngl, I'm actually tempted to make that Gylfie's canon anyway. But we'll see!

Now, with Takrin still in power... things are going to be dicey. Gylfie is going to warn Basch that her father had been loyal to Vayne and had supported him because he shared his ideals, and would warn him that Takrin is easily a threat to Larsa. I... don't think Takrin would try to kill Larsa, but he'd... certainly make things difficult. He would challenge Larsa, try to make him seem incompetent or unfit to be Emperor, and may even branch out to run for emperor himself come the next election. If there is actually an election. I could get into how that one line from Vayne about Archadia voting for it's emperor doesn't make sense but I won't do that here sdfkhjsgdfhjk

However, the biggest issue is that, if Takrin ever finds out that Gabranth is actually Basch, everything is going to be screwed. He will not hesitate to blast that for everyone to know, and would absolutely call into question Larsa's loyalty to Archadia if he finds out Larsa was perfectly aware that it was Basch. He would also use it against Gylfie as well, and argue that that was a reason why he knew she should have never been promoted to Judge, let alone Judge Magister.

With all of that, Gylfie is going to have her hands full. Her father will continue to challenge her and undermine her authority even when she's promoted to Judge Magister in her own right, so he's an added stressor on top of losing Drace and Gabranth, needing to protect Larsa, and trying to keep Basch's secret to keep the Judge Magisters in line and to keep Larsa safe. Actually, now that I think about it, I could easily see Takrin causing enough unrest amongst the Judge Magisters to cause such a division it could equate to a civil war, but I digress. I feel he'd fill in Zargabaath's role in Fortress, though... that in itself is an entirely different issue I also won't address here because that is just me ranting lol. Anyway, so not alone is she struggling to adjust to everything, but... she now has to deal with her father a lot more than she did before because they're now in the same rank. The thing is, though, they're both going to be careful with how they play it out - Takrin doesn't want to lash out at her and look like a fucking idiot while Gylfie's calm, cool, and collected, but... at the same time, Gylfie knows she can't lose her temper with her father's subtle jabs and constant challenges, because if she does, she'll screw herself over because everyone will think she's too emotional like Takrin had been saying all along. It's... a lot of subtle mind games with the two of them, though there will be times when their hatred for each other will shine through, even if only briefly.

I... might tackle this after I finish the movie, because I could very well come up with other problems that Takrin would present if he were to have survived. But, in short, he would be an added stressor for Gylfie when she becomes Judge Magister, and he would not hesitate to wreck everything the moment he learns of Gabranth's death. He will make Larsa's rule as difficult as he can without getting dismissed from his position, though I think he'd be too much of a coward to attempt an assassination. He would keep the unrest amongst the Judge Magisters at best, and outright cause a complete division at worst.

Gylfie might still kill him somehow, though, heh. Still with the goal of protecting Larsa and Archadia in mind, of course, but... it'd definitely be harder for her to find a way to go about that without getting caught.

My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (3/4)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Yep yep yep, I'm liking this season a lot! 😍 Although I hope we'll get into a more frantic situation now, like with more battles and more bonding moments (Nya and Maya hopefully, but with Bentho too 🦈🦈🦈)! We got half a season to go, I'M READY!! 😎😎

Alright, here we go!

GENERAL THOUGHTS

I do like the season a lot, maybe MoM was a little more cohesive? Idk but it's not a big complain, I still love it so far 😍

Also maybe I would've liked more interactions between Nya and Maya about how they've been apart for so long, they had a chit chat but I would've loved even more. Maybe with Nya saying that it was fine and she grew up only to realize she is still hurt by that, even though it wasn't Maya's fault. I still like how they did it, I wished there was more that's it 🤷‍♀️

While I do make sense to Maya's behavior, that while it seems a little different from Hands of Time it had its logic in my opinion, maybe Ray feels a little weird? He seems less courageous than before, and it was established that he is a hothead like his son so that came off as unusual 🤔🤔

But I do love the fact that he's here and he's bonding with his son, for real, I've been waiting for this for so long so I'm happy nonetheless 🤩

Maybe I'm just easy to please and I take all I can get idk 😅

Oh, are we gonna address the wind element? It feels like we haven't really seen a Morro reference since Hands of Time, that would be cool! 😍 I mean, why even mentioning the wind then 😅😅

Kalmaar is a very cool villain, like, deeply evil. Not only he's calculated and merciless, he stops at nothing to get what he wants. And the people that get in the way? He wants them to suffer because they had dared to confront him 😳

And yes the voice does help a lot, I'm sorry I'll keep saying it until the season is over 😂 (or even beyond? Please cast Giles again LEGO 🥺🥺🥺)

When do you think we'll know about TImeless getting renewed or not?

Whether or not they decide to renew it will decide their strategy on the way they release the news. What doesn’t surprise me? That we have not heard yet. This makes me hopeful that NBC is taking the time to carefully negotiate a deal with Sony (who produces the show). If they had announced it already, it would’ve been a cancellation. It has been clear that Sony really loves this show and is doing their best to try to keep it going. Moving the show’s production to Los Angeles to take advantage of the new tax credits and shortening the season to save money is also good for the cast and writers allowing them to be home and do other projects in their extended hiatus.

This last week was a particularly stressful one for NBC since so many other decisions had to be made about their network as a whole and how they wanted to viewed by advertisers and viewers alike as they rolled out their general plan for next year. Taking Timeless out of that equation is good for the show. It means they are seriously considering bringing it back but at a time that wouldn’t interfere with their main schedule. It almost happened for Season 2, if you remember Timeless could have come back during the Summer. NBC hedged their bets, promoted it during the Olympics, and brought it back in the Spring with other family programming on a family night, Sunday. Unfortunately, it was still on at 10:00 pm on a school night. Not a good time for actual family viewing and the numbers showed it. Also, the show did get a little bit darker and pushed soap opera elements that alienated some of the general audience who came for a fun, action adventure, historical show. Broadcast networks are starting to realize Summer is a safe place for their low-rated but critical/cult favorites. The CW has been doing this for years, moving shows like Beauty and the Beast and Reign to summer to prolong their runs. This year they moved The 100 to very late Spring and, after airing a few episodes, promptly renewed it for next year. Late Spring may become the new Summer. Also, ABC decided to renew Agents of Shield but move it to Summer. Here’s why…

“I think what we’ve discovered is that we have a very passionate and loyal fanbase for SHIELD, the show does incredibly well for us in delayed viewing. By putting it in the summer I think we’re going to be able to super-serve the fanbase that loves that show and hopefully give it an opportunity to continue on longer than we would if it was in-season.” ~ ABC President Channing Dungey

Sound familiar? Passionate and loyal fanbase, does incredibly well in delayed viewing. Moving it to a place with less competition to keep it around longer. I just hope NBC is paying attention. They did bring the show back from cancellation and gave themselves the option of airing it in the Summer. Why not do it again only confirm that it will return in the Summer?

Okay, back to WHEN will NBC announce the fate of Timeless. The truth is they don’t have to announce it at all. When you announce a cancellation, it brings either brings silence due to disinterest or a torrent of outrage by devoted fans. Why go to all that trouble when you can simply wait for the option on the writers and actors contracts to expire and let them spread the bad news on twitter. With a press release, they send the news directly to the media so it will be seen. Whereas when writers and actors release it on twitter, the media has to go out of their way to seek out this news. There may be some backlash but they weren’t the messengers and hopefully it will come at a time when people aren’t paying attention so they won’t see the news at all. This is what happened last year to ABC’s Still-Star Crossed. But if the network did want to bury bad news, then the best time to announce it is on Friday, with the hope that it will get lost in the busy weekend so it won’t be remembered by time water cooler talk starts at work on Monday. Hence the Bloody Friday of TV Cancellations last week before the upfronts. Do you remember which shows that got axed? Oh, the PR deviousness.

Let’s talk about a happier outcome. What if the show is renewed? This week is still a very busy week as the network is trying to sell the bulk of their ad time for next year. It would be great if NBC and Sony could come to agreement this week. If they do, I hope we hear about it by Thursday. However, if they want to see the delayed viewing numbers (Live+3, Live+7), we should be hoping fervently to hear next week by Thursday, May 24. The last weekend of the month is a 3-day holiday, Memorial Day. So we don’t want to hear any news on Friday, May 25th, because it would be the perfect place to bury bad news. Otherwise, they could potentially drag this negotiation into June or until the expiration of the writers/actors contracts.

Until then, there is still time to save the show by rewatching the last two episodes on NBC, Hulu, or DVR (watch all the ads), staying noisy on Twitter, and writing a letter to NBC. RENEW TIMELESS!

i'm really sorry that you're having a hard time, i hope the concert does cheer you up a bit! Plus there's just a little bit left, so try to just hang in there. I saw the rehearsal today at work and i'm just so excited to see them do everything live!! they didn't spoil much so i'm glad for that + just seeing them puts a smile on my face <3 I hope catsitting goes well (i love cats sm they're so cute) and lmk which plushie u took!

Uni has been going okay for me, not much to do yet but i'm already struggling with the amount of classes plus work hour plus commuting.. and i know it's only gonna get worse but alas!!! i'm just not thinking abt it and taking it day by day. I've also made some new friends which is nice!! But since i'm in engineering they're all boys T.T i need some more female energy up in here!!!

haha we have the opposite in nursing, it's 99% women in my cohort, although i do get to work with a couple male RNs quite often at clinical and i really enjoy working with them. it would be nice to see a better balance in both of our fields for sure!

i actually met with one of my instructors yesterday who teaches our main med-surg class but was also my clinical supervisor last semester, and i think that helped to just talk to her about how hard the semester has been. she said she knew something was up when my grade on this last exam wasn't my usual haha. but she was reassuring and basically was like, take this one loss which isn't even that bad, and i know you know what you need to do to get the next one. but she also said that if i really find myself in a rut to come talk to her again and we'll figure it out. i'm glad to know she's got my back but i'm hoping it won't come to that, i feel more motivated today to try and get ahead on some stuff and just like you, i will take it one day at a time <3 it seems we've swapped the snow for rain and the flooding has posed its own problems, but i'll take some mud and slightly better temperatures for now until it fully warms up and the sun comes back out ~

i didn't watch the rehearsal but i saw tutu is blonde now! i'm gonna have to stay away from twt tomorrow so that i don't see any spoilers for the concert before sunday. i'll probably bring my jumbo romy since i'll be sleeping (well. more like napping) there and i usually hug him in my sleep haha. whenever i am waking up at these weird hours for concerts my tradition is to have a mimosa so i'll go pick up some supplies for that today too while i'm out hehe. gonna try to get all my work done so that i can just enjoy the show without worrying about other stuff after. i'm so excited to see what they have prepared for us !!!
