Oh do you wanna choose violence? (ask game) 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 16, 19? 9 and 10 can be optional but this is already a lot so
01. honestly? alhaitham. people seem to think he's an asshole or unempathetic and unkind but really he's just very reserved and he has a tendency to be playful in his own way while being unwilling to truly explain himself to others. he's an autistic king and i love him.
02. hmm i'm gonna do this for diluc: i think diluc has a very intense need for control, especially when it comes to his interactions with kaeya. he can and does relax in most settings over time but i also believe that diluc had a nonzero number of unpleasant sexual interactions in his travels and it's made him averse to the loss of sexual control specifically. also, he's a bit of a masochist but he's much more of a sadist, and he finds kaeya's responses to pain enchanting. they're both very tangled by their history, by the fact that kaeya seeks often to punish himself through diluc and diluc has calcified into the role of protector/punisher over time and now needs a lot of handholding to step out of it and their sexual dynamic is in many ways a return to a rawer and more unfiltered state of being.
06. kaebedo fans have irritated me since forever. also chaeya fans. both ships are good by themselves but a lot of their shippers seem more interested in avoiding kaeluc/luckae than whatever they're actually shipping so they're also the annoying "siblings brothering fraternally" type of ragbros fans (this is how twt user @/cryovishap puts it afksdjf and i agree). i love chaeya by itself and i also enjoy albedo/kaeya but the twitter fans make me wanna put a pillow over my ears.
07. kaveh. im carefully extracting myself from every other opinion about him in order to preserve my tentative affection
08. would it be mean to say "most of them"? i dont even know what common fandom opinions on a lot of things are. i dont look at the fandom at large much if i can help it
16. oh. so many. many kinds of kidfic, revenge fantasy plots (elaborate constructions of "a character is wronged and they &or their lover Destroy Everyone about it"), shovel talks (i hate shovel talks), anything where diluc lacks his violent/sadistic/mildly crazy streak, overinvestment in monogamy or virginity (shipping that's desperate to preclude even the option of other meaningful romantic or romance-adjacent relationships, and things where characters desperately assure each other that they've saved themselves up for this like good christian kids). probably other things, but this is off the top of my head.
one thing i REALLY don't like in general is when top/dom characters aren't allowed to be shamelessly kinky in their own right. like, it's a particular thing if their character is such that they won't want to inflict pain or misery on their partner, but it's very often less a characterization thing and more. a subtle implication that this is how people think doms/tops should be in order for their sexual dealings to be Ethical, as though wanting to cause pain, or being interested in choking someone out, or having cnc fantasies about being the aggressor rather than the victim, are morally indicative desires. subs are always given leeway to want something in ways that doms aren't because victimhood is more morally pure than aggression even when that victimhood or aggression is within the space of kink (or maybe even especially so bc getting off on something makes it worse). but it's always super important to me personally that doms get to be wholeheartedly into whatever they're doing to their sub. they don't have to be shameless about it (shame and guilt are interesting!) but like. they should also be rock fuckin hard at the same time.
19. haikaveh. i know this is so vanilla but gughgjgh i would erase them from my brain if i could
i wouldn't mind doing 9 and 10 but i cant think of anything. thank you for the asks! if anyone read all of this but disagrees with me that's fine you're good i'm not judging anybody and people have complex reasons for liking things that i am not privy to.

what is utahime’s role in the future? — a prediction (manga spoilers)
part 1 (unedited)
I WAS ABOUT TO POST IT BUT I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED IT AND I WAS SO HURT FR!!!!! I HAD REWRITE THIS ENTIRE THING </33
part 2 is here!
in this post, i will be analyzing the information we’ve been given about utahime so far to form a prediction about her future role in the jujutsu kaisen series. if you’re as interested in utahime’s character as i am, please feel free to keep reading :3 (i’ll also be talking about her relationship with gojo a bit too)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
soukatsu_ on twt!
Tumblr media
kaikaikitan on twt!
utahime iori is a semi-grade 1 sorcerer working as a student supervisor/teacher at kyoto jujutsu high school. she loves drinking beer and going to karaoke. she’s also close friends with shoko and she’s not particularly fond of gojo most of the time. what else do we know about her?
hates sweets (funny she’s the complete opposite of gojo)
she’s great at singing and it’s a huge part of her technique
squabbling with gojo became a reflex :3
everyone absolutely adores utahime
loves watching soccer and baseball
a terrible drunk (worse than naobito zenin)
gojo is her main source of stress
let’s dive into her personality and abilities!
Tumblr media
chapter 65
before i get into it, i think it’d be best if i were to explain the timeline because a lot of people seem to be confused about this one particular thing. utahime is born on february 18th, 1987. contrary to popular belief, she is not 3 years older than gojo. it is november 2018 in the story because gojo was sealed on halloween. if gojo was born on december 7th, 1989, that would mean that right now, he is only 28 years old. he has yet to turn 29.
the year is 2007. gojo satoru is a second year at tokyo jujutsu high school. the japanese school year begins in april which suggests that gojo is only 17 at the time (even if it’s not april, it doesn’t look like winter yet so it’s unlikely that he’s already 18). utahime is 20 because it is past february. she is a 2nd grade sorcerer at the age of 20. that’s not bad at all!
chapter 65 introduces young utahime and mei on a mission together within a cursed site. in real time, they’ve been gone for two days which is a cause of concern for gojo, shoko, and geto because the two haven’t contacted anyone since the beginning of their mission.  the two begin to suspect something is wrong because the hallway markers they’ve set in place disappeared, and no matter how far they travel within the halls, the end is nowhere in sight.  mei theorizes that the cursed spirit is overlapping the space as they travel forward.  utahime agrees with this speculation and proposes a plan to escape the cursed spirit’s grasp by moving erratically.  notice how she says that if one of them should escape, they can try to attack from the outside or call for help.  if utahime was not capable of inflicting damage on anything then she would have told mei to escape and attack if she can while she waited to be rescued.  however, she didn’t.  she included herself in the sentence which leads me to believe that she is capable of going on the offense if needed.
keep in mind that at this point in time, mei is a grade 1 sorcerer.  she is knowledgeable about all things involving jujutsu because she is experienced and skillful.  we can see this aspect of her character illustrated when she theorizes that the cursed spirit is messing with the space they’re in.  she chooses to go with utahime’s plan because she agrees that it’s the best action moving forward.  this verifies that utahime is an intelligent girl that’s able to get along with pretty much anyone.
Tumblr media
her intellect is demonstrated once again in chapter 79.  she was able to deduce the possibility of there being more than one traitor and the fact that one is probably a higher up.  she also narrowed down the mechamaru as the mole of kyoto not because he was acting suspicious but by process of elimination.  she thought thoroughly of his technique and how easy it would be for him to manipulate devices small enough to be undetectable.
sure you can argue that she should already know all her students’ abilities and whatnot but you have to admit that it’s hard trying to sniff out the traitor when no one is acting suspicious.  in addition to that, how did she know that there was a traitor in the top brass?  i would have never guessed that tbh LOL (maybe bc im an idiot).
okay, now that we have established that she’s intelligent, let’s answer a more important question.  is utahime weak?
Tumblr media
chapter 33
if gojo calls utahime weak, does that mean there is some truth to it?  well it is true that she is weaker than him because he’s the strongest and all.  in my opinion, he’s just teasing her.  he probably found that calling her weak is what really riles her up.  maybe i’ll talk about why he loves teasing her so much in a later post.  but anyway, gojo calls everybody and their mom weak.  he even said jogo was weak and we know how powerful that guy is.  gojo’s words alone do not indicate much about utahime’s power.  in fact, i don’t even think he has seen her use her technique yet.  he’s probably only ever heard of how it works.  this is what i think their conversation about her technique was like:
gojo: hm?  ur cursed technique is singing?  can u show me?
utahime: what!  no way!
gojo: why not?
*one of the classmates tells him that she can only use her CT once in a while because it consumes a lot of energy*
gojo: hahaha!  u have to conserve cursed energy to use ur CT?  why are u so weak, utahime?
utahime: i!  am!  your!  senpai!  respect!  me!
what i’m trying to say is that gojo loves poking fun of people.  we should not believe him when he calls someone weak because compared to him, everyone is weak.
this is a little off topic but let’s examine him telling her, “and you don’t have the nerves, utahime.”  i think he’s trying to say that there’s no way she’ll ever do something like that because she’s not the type to put her students in danger.  remember the soft expression and relieved smile on her lips when she said that she was glad the students were safe after the kyoto incident?  gojo was directly in front of her so not only did he hear her say that, but he could have seen the look on her face too.  even if he told her that she didn’t have the guts to betray the school to get on her nerves, he knew that utahime simply cared too much about the students so he ruled her out as a suspect right away.  this is why he ultimately decided to confide in her and ask her to help him.
i’m a person who loves over-analyzing things.  i really enjoy the dynamic between gojo and utahime.  they’ve known each other for more than 11 years and although they always bicker, there is an unspoken feeling of trust between the two.  gojo can do anything and everything by himself because he is truly the strongest person alive, but he still knows when to rely on others.  him deciding to entrust utahime with such a job implies that he believes in utahime’s abilities.
Tumblr media
chapter 52
she’s not using any cursed energy here--not to our knowledge at least.  this is just pure skill.  she was able to swiftly evade the swing from haruta.  he was surprised himself considering the fact that he was right behind her.  how do we know her CT isn’t speed?  after haruta swung at her, we can see that some of her hair got cut off.  if she was using her CT then speed should be her specialty.  she should have been able to completely avoid the attack altogether but she didn’t.  of course this isn’t a wow moment because jujutsu sorcerers should know how to dodge attacks, however, i’m just trying to get the point across that she’s not a defenseless person without her technique or others.  let’s not forget that semi-grade 1 isn’t a weak rank either.  you can’t simply be recommended to be a grade 1 sorcerer if you only can support others.
Tumblr media
chapter 48
i want to bring up this panel. it suggests that utahime and takuma are sorcerers who have not experienced black flash and therefore, do not understand the essence of cursed energy as well as those who have like gojo and nanami.  i find it strange how takuma and utahime were used to represent sorcerers who haven’t experienced it yet.  is the purpose to demonstrate that there is a clear difference in skill between adult sorcerers like utahime and takuma compared to gojo and nanami?  i could be nitpicking but the order of todo’s statement doesn’t line up with the sorcerers being shown.  let me explain in depth.  todo starts off by saying, “for those who have experienced black flash as compared to those who have not...” wouldn’t it make more sense to show gojo and nanami on the right side to represent sorcerers who have experienced black flash?  that was mentioned first, after all.  gojo and nanami should appear when todo says “for those who have experience black flash” while utahime and takuma should be shown right after to personify the second part, “as compared to those who have not.”  i’m just making it more complicated than it actually is LOLOL i’m sure it really just means they haven’t experienced black flash yet, which is completely fine.  i also find it fascinating how they used utahime to contrast gojo.  with nanami and takuma it makes sense.  nanami is someone takuma looks up to, he wants to gain nanami’s approval before he deems himself worthy of a promotion. what about utahime and gojo?  what’s the purpose of comparing those two together when it’s obvious that gojo knows more about the essence of cursed energy more than anyone else?  i might be delusional whoops
----
let me know what you guys think?  this is only a part 1 so i haven’t gotten around to answering the question.  i’m pretty much done with the second part, i just need to revise it a little.  i think after i post part 2, i’ll try to interpret all the gojo and utahime moments in the manga >.<

Sooo... Now that its my wif- Tara's birthday... Are the Mystics (And Bo) gonna celebrate it :D? I can imagine Gene trying to set up some kind of surprise party for her, that would remain a surprise for like 4 minutes...
DANG IT. Past 12. TwT
But here you go! An outline for how Tara’s birthday is celebrated this year. 🧿 best fortune teller in Starr Park tbh. Your wife says hi 💜
I really gotta start keeping track of the Birthdays to have these things planned out.
~
One of the many good things about how much time Tara and Gene have known each other, is he knows she'll figure it out.
The surprise for her will be not the fact that there's a party because she can easily see that, but the extent of it, because she can promise not to sneak a peek at it.
(But now she's curious! Also, she's so used to checking on the future,* it takes a very conscious effort to not do so.)
So, while Gene keeps Tara preoccupied by taking a walk around the Park, Sandy, the Tribe, Gale and Mortis (because they're also friends with the Mysticals bc of the skins, shush.) are in charge of decorating.
So, with only two responsible adults in this group, how well do you think this is going to go? :)
Gale: So do you have a plan for the setup?
Sandy: hm? >.o oh. Yy*yawns*eah. here you go... *hands him a paper*
Gale: ...this just has a rough sketch of the main room and a couple of balloons.
Sandy- mm..felt sleepy but there's still.... -.-...time to...zzzz....
Gale:
Mortis laughs because well they'd just have to wing it! (He would definitely ask Emz for help, but she's busy with the teen crew for plot convenience) As long as decorations are already bought, it should an easy thing in setting it up the way they want it to look.
....decorations are already bought, right?
Sandy softly snores, and the Party Crew realizes that's their answer.
~
Meanwhile, Gene and Tara walk through the Park. The plan is picking up a few extra gifts along the way before heading back to the main party.
Their first stop is Barley's for some drinks! He gifts one bottle of Tara’s preferred drink, but does charge for the rest. Along the way, we see Brawlers greeting Tara and wishing her well on her birthday.
Colette’s very enthusiastic! She knows all the Brawler’s birthdays, and wanted to make something for Tara!
She doesn’t really have extra money recently, since there was some recent change in management, and she usually makes more detailed items, but because of the money problem, couldn’t buy as many materials she needed, but she’s derailing, so she hands Tara her wrapped gift.
It’s a cute hand-made Shade Plush!
Tara is delighted and thanks her for it. It’s a pleasant surprise, and she appreciates it. Colette fangirls a bit, thanking her, and then waving bye as the Mystics carry on.
~
Back at the Bazaar, they're trying to brainstorm on what to do. Well, half of them present are. Sandy is asleep and Nita + Leon are playing around the house.
Mortis says the only things he has back home are.. well, decorations of a more... gothic type..you know,.. (Halloween decors. they’re Halloween decors.)
Gale also offers up... some Snowtel hangings, but again, ‘tis not quite the right season to be jolly.
Bo suggests makeshift decorations. The twins are good at crafts! .. but more so along the lines of forest materials, not sand and...
Everyone’s drawing a blank, and decide that they could gather up their own share of materials, and see what could work best. Their time limit won’t really allow a break after all.
So Gale contacts Lou and asks him if he could meet him halfway with everything he can carry. Try not to get caught by the Penguin boss. Lou, ever the chaotic good guy agrees.
Bo gathers up Leon and Nita and they head out to see what they can scrounge up.
Mortis wonders if he should call up Frank too since he’ll be here later to set up and provide the music, but decides to be ~generous~  and just send a flock of his Bats to pick some things up for him. He sees them off adoringly.
With a content sigh, he lounges back and waits for his precious lovelies to return with his ideal decorations. Sandy sleeps on...
~
Back with Gene and Tara, the next item to pick up is the cake. Piper has the order ready-- a black forest chateau cake.
“Magnificent taste, darlings!” she compliments. she has it all boxed up very fancily. “It’s on the house. Take it as my gift for you. Happy birthday!”
She’ll also be attending the party later. Tara thanks her for the cake. She and Gene then take their leave.
Along the way to their last stop at the new Castle environment for the food, (because while they don’t know Ash very well yet, Tara loves trying out the new items and pizza is always great for a party.)
“Hey, Tara! ...hold up.” Edgar jumps down from a building they’re passing, just because he can and . “...this is from the rest of the Gang. Me too, I guess. Happy birthday.”
~
The party squad are actually worse off than before.
The Shaman Tribe are back, and the Twins became interested in using fabrics to try and make something too. so they’re playing around with it pretty much.
Gale just arrived, with Lou joined along because he was interested in the party planning too. (So, the snowtel is understaffed right now.) but they’re just chatting instead of working.
Mortis’ bats haven’t arrived yet, and he’s getting worried. They don’t usually take this long in running errands for him.
Leon and Nita are practically playing catch right now. They knock over something that looked priceless. Oh, a crystal ball, perhaps. Bo reprimands them.
They haven’t gotten much closer to making up the room...
There’s a knock, and the group freezes because oh no, they’re out of time. but it ends up being Frank. A very unhappy Frank who was suddenly surrounded by screeching batties who kept picking apart the house while he was packing up his set up for the party. They followed him there afterwards, along with several things.
Mortis tries joking it off ;; , and then very quietly and off-handedly apologizes when Frank doesn’t find it very funny.
But then so hey!!! you’re here so decoration time, everybody! let’s hop to it!
Gene’s Lamp, Sliver, floats in. Sent by Gene himself to check on the progress. They were nearing after all. The Lamp’s alarmed by what it sees. That is, absolutely nothing.
It glares around, and spots Sandy still sleeping. Sliver floats over to him, and hops on him-- Wake up!
Sandy does so, but is very grumpy. “what?”
Tara’s Birthday.
“yeah? what about it?”
Don’t you care?
“obviously.” he swats at the lamp. “it’s tomorrow.”
>:( Today. It’s TODAY.
“,” Sandy looks around, as wide-eyed as he could be.
broken crystal ball, a mix of decorations, and nobody currently fixing up anything from the looks of it.
They’re on the way.
Sandy makes a face. “ok... game plan on the fly.”
~
The final stretch of the day out.
Gene and Tara are nearing the Bazaar, and along the way, Gene starts to get heartfelt.
He reminisces how they first met, how far they’ve traveled together, how much longer they’ve yet to go.
He wishes he could think of something to give her that meant something like the other gifts that she received that day.
He was a Genie, but after everything they’ve been through, she deserves much, much more than what he could ever imagine to conjure up for her.
Tara smiles. “(Don’t... put me on too high a pedestal, my Friend.”)
Don’t sell yourself short either. You’ve done so much.
“(Yes. I have.)” Tara muses unhappily, thumbing the doll.
Gene suddenly gets the idea of what his gift could be, but he needs his Lamp to start on it.
~
Right before the two opened the door, a pair of bats were hanging up the last decoration.
And when the two walked in with the final party supplies at hand and are amazed at the display.
intricate ice sculptures and a more snowy feel set up where the food would go. the music section where Frank set up (who was talking with Mortis.) had a darker aesthetic, including the balloons over there.
Lastly the rest of the place was decorated with very cute works of art. no doubt the Tribe kid’s handiwork. she recognized it from when they stayed over, and the gifts Bo’s gotten from them and shown her.
You’d think that the seemed like the mix of fancier silver decorations, a more gothic theme and natural crafts would look odd together... and well, it was quaint, but it was very pleasing to see.
a patchwork of oddities, not unlike this park, really. She’s always been fond of odds and ends. Tara loved it!
Sandy yawns and walks over to them. “we actually just got done with the set up. but if it makes you feel better, we can still hide right now and yell surprise.”
Tara laughs. It’s okay.. it isn’t like she could be-- but she appreciates it. Sandy shrugs, like he didn’t just call all the shots and work in a hurry with the other eight. “you’re welcome.”
Lou offers to help set up the food and cake. Gale helps too, after presenting his gift too.
Frank and Mortis notice the arrival of the Birthday Gal and wave her over. They chat animatedly-- it’s been so long since they’ve had the chance to catch up! They should plan something soon. Tara agrees, and their gift is from the both of them. I can see it being a very nice piece of clothing, though I’m drawing a blank as to what.
The Lamp reunites with Gene, and their perspectives merge again. Oh. the party was really cut close, huh? but it worked out well! what a relief. a scrap book of actual memories is what you have in mind? how very sappy.... She would like it.
Lastly, Bo walks up to Tara, greeting her and wishing her well on this day. He hopes she likes what they helped with ....he then has the Twins apologize for breaking a few things around the house--
Tara dismisses it easily. They can be replaced. The Twins, that is. (joke to scare them.) But really, as long as they were careful from now on, it was okay. the cub and chameleon agree with no hesitation and then run off to cause more mayhem, but quieter this time.
The Psychic smiles. The guests would be arriving soon, and it was already so lively.
Time to party~!
_______
*I’m still deciding on the extent of her powers, so future sight might not be a thing, because of the characterization I have for her. I’m thinking something along the lines of “Can see past events, and make very informed guesses based on what she knows about people, but cannot see the future itself.”

Lost Time: Ch. 6
Fandom: Time Warp Trio
Author: The_Bookkeeper_96
Rating: T
Summary: Another summer at Horae Manor begins, but before Joe and Tessa get the chance to train, they are sent out on a mission to explore the magic capital of the universe, Mancika. Rumours of illegal magic conversion spread throughout the city, and Joe and Tessa need to locate those responsible. But after the events of last summer, Joe isn't eager to work with his Aether partner, and the two are struggling more with each other than with their enemies.
A/N: Look who's back ;) I promise, I'm not dead, and I still very much want to keep the small TWT community going. Hopefully, my updates will be more consistent going forward.
P.S.: Thinking about starting a tag list for story updates. Let me know if you're interested/want to be added.
Read on AO3
------------------------------------
"In reviewing the tragic incident that occurred at Horae Manor last week, the Great Council has decided to revise the current requirements for acceptance. From this point forward, for the safety of 'lesser magic' users, Horae Manor will only be open to current Warp and Aether wizards and their potential successors. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families of those affected by last week's events, and we hope this change will prevent such things going forward." - Excerpt of Great Council Decree 57 from the year 1908
"You can't be serious. He doesn't know anything!" Tessa exclaims, then suddenly remembers that I'm now standing right next to her. "No offense."
I bite my tongue. No point in arguing in front of Rowena and Cassius, they'd just punish us in some other way. Though forcing us to work together when we were clearly not on good terms seems cruel enough. I force myself to shrug like her little outburst doesn't sting at all.
She'd said that with no hesitation. So what if I didn't do my required reading? What good would knowing the history of magic do for me in a battle?
I briefly picture myself fighting a game show host who keeps shouting trivia questions at me. He demands to know who the first Warp Wizard was, and if I get the question wrong, his powers grow stronger. Three wrong answers and he can turn me into a mouse with the snap of his fingers or smite me with a single bolt of lighting.
I snap out of my daydream, hoping I haven't missed anything. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that could never happen. Knowledge wasn't one of the nine magics. Right?
Maybe one chapter wouldn't hurt…
"Tessa," Ro sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose, "this is a partnership. Warp and Aether wizards rely on each other. Your magic cannot exist without the other half. Your independence is admirable, but from now on you two need to be working together every step of the way."
"I know that, but shouldn't you at least teach him some basic magic first? How to put up a shield or shoot some energy balls?" Tessa frowns and stares at the floor. "This is serious stuff. He could get hurt, or worse."
"Stop talking about me like I'm not here." I cross my arms. Ready now more than ever to start this fight. Why is she acting as if she cares about me getting hurt? She certainly didn't seem to mind last summer in Paris or Cealus. The concerned expression on her face is almost enough to make me believe her, but after last year, I know better than that. What game is she playing here?
"We have spent the last year trying to come up with exercises for the two of you to learn how to cooperate. I had hoped that once we revealed the time decay, you would understand the brevity of the situation. Clearly not." Cas crosses his arms, giving me the impression of a disappointed father.
I remember from our conversation last summer that Cassius is married. Did he have kids too? And had he really spent the last year focusing on Tessa and me instead of his own family? We can't be that special. I wonder if his wife ever came to visit here at Horae. Where did Cas live anyway when he wasn't here? I doubt he'd answer any of my questions about his personal life, especially since he wouldn't answer any of my questions about magic.
"Okay, so maybe our teamwork needs a little improvement," I relent. "But how are we supposed to work on that if you make us fight each other?"
"You're not fighting each other." Rowena flicks her wrist towards us.
I blink. Without warning, Tessa and I are standing on the far side of the gym facing down our mentors. This gym really is bigger than I thought. Or at least, Rowena made it seem that way.
"You're fighting us."
My heart plummets into my stomach. This has to be some weird test. They won't make us fight them. They're professional wizards who had years of magic experience. They are literally the greatest time and space magic-users alive. We would never be able to beat them. I have no training and Tessa only has a year under her belt. She did pretty well against Rowena alone, but with Cassius fighting her too? This would be a disaster for us.
"You guys are really on it with the jokes tonight. But seriously, what's the plan?" Apparently, Tessa is just as stunned as I am, which does nothing for my hopes. We really would be getting crushed. So much for having a good start for the summer.
"We are serious. Don't worry, we'll take it easy on you." Warm purple light glows around Rowena.
"You don't necessarily have to beat us, just knock us out of the arena. As long as we see a decent showing of teamwork from the both of you, we'll consider that a win for you." Cassius' body begins to glow that signature time magic green. "And we won't end this until you do."
Is it my imagination or is the room shifting in size and shape? And why does everything feel like it's moving a lot slower now? Ro and Cas couldn't be using their magic like that already, they weren't even doing anything except standing there. Just how powerful were they?
How powerful could Tessa and I become?
The thought gives me a burst of excitement. This battle could actually be a great way to learn what I will be able to do someday. Maybe there's some way I can trick Cas into showing off all his moves and tricks.
"We're starting now? You're not even going to give us time to strategize?" Tessa holds her arms out in exasperation.
"You will have very few fights in your life where you will have time to strategize. Besides, you know nothing about each other's strengths and weaknesses or fighting styles. And you've only seen Ro fight, not me." Cas cracks his knuckles, the green mist slowly curling farther and farther up his arms.
Okay, so we're doing this.
I try to remember how I felt every time I used my magic before. My hands would always tingle and my chest would feel warm, but the only time I'd ever been able to do anything was in high-stress situations. Like if my life was in danger or the life of someone I care about. But Cas and Ro had already said they'd be going easy on us, so there's no real danger here.
I feel nothing. No tingle. No warmth.
Great, maybe my magic is broken. Which means I have to rely on Tessa during this. Even better. I inwardly roll my eyes. Is that why they were doing this? To build my trust in her by forcing me to lean on her during a fight?
"We can win this if we play it smart. But you need to listen to what I say." Tessa snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Why do you get to be in charge?" I cross my arms. Even if that is Cas and Ro's plan, that doesn't mean I have to follow it. I can prove to them that I know what I'm doing.
"Because I'm the only here with any experience."
"So? You don't know what I've been up to this past year. Maybe I've been practicing my magic non-stop."
"Have you?"
"Well-"
My world turns green as Cas blasts us with magic. "Not off to a good start, you two."
I cringe. I can hear the disappointment in his voice from here. I guess it won't hurt to at least try to cooperate with Tessa. As long as she doesn't betray me again. If Cas and Ro think we're so important that they're spending all their free time thinking about us, the least we can do is try to live up to their expectations.
"Fine. What's your plan?"
"I need you to distract them."
"Distract them how?"
Tessa runs a hand over her face. "I don't know! Just think of something, and fast."
Before I can even blink, she throws up a shield in front of us, blocking another attack from our mentors. I can't help but cough as the smoke clears around us.
"Magic combat lesson number one: move."
Tessa winces and waves the smoke away. "Cas is right. Standing still like this is a death sentence. We have to run or hide."
"There's nowhere to hide."
"So run."
Just like that, she bounces away, using the last remaining smoke as cover.
Okay, distract two super powerful wizards. I can do that.
How do I do that?
My mind races as my feet start to carry me away. I have to get them to focus on me so Tessa can do… what exactly is Tessa planning on doing? I try to find her, before realizing that that's probably not going to help her.
The room shakes, and suddenly I'm running into a wall I'm pretty sure wasn't there two seconds ago.
A stinging pain flares up above my eye. My hand reaches up and pulls away with blood smeared across my palm. Okay, apparently 'go easy on us' doesn't mean we won't get hurt. Noted.
"You need to pay attention. Especially when your opponent can manipulate the battlefield," Rowena calls out.
Well, at least I had their attention. Hopefully, Tessa can go do her thing now. I want this fight to be over with as soon as possible. Cas was right. I'm nowhere near ready for this. Magic only came to me on accident or when someone was in serious danger. Even if I could, there was no way I could focus enough right now to summon any amount of power.
I laughed. "I meant to do that."
Both Ro and Cas raised their brows at me. "Really?"
"Totally. We definitely have a plan, and we are definitely going through with it." Another nervous chuckle escaped my throat. If I can keep them talking to me, Tessa should be able to go through with her plan. I tried not to frown or show any irritation. Of course, it really would help if I knew her plan.
Our mentors' hands begin to glow. I gulp down a bubble of air. This isn't good, but I can't let them see me panic.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Tessa scaling the wall towards the seats where Cas and I had been earlier. Wait, is her plan to escape and leave me here while I get attacked? My fists clench. I shouldn't be surprised. This was exactly the kind of behavior she had shown last summer. A list of crude insults runs through my mind. I shake them away. No time to think about that. I have to focus on what's happening right in front of me.
A familiar warmth built up in my chest. Was it magic? One way to find out.
I lift my hands and close my eyes. Just push it out. That's all I have to do. I take a deep breath, feeling the warmth swirl deeper within me. My fingertips tingle in anticipation.
Without warning, the room shakes again, and my body flings to the side. I just barely manage to stay on my feet, but the warmth in me is suddenly replaced with nausea.
My arms wrap around my stomach. I bend over and try not to vomit. Damn space magic.
I look up to see Ro and Cas looking confused, and I understand why. They're no longer near me where they were. Instead, they're a hundred feet away from me on the other side of the arena. Had it always been this big?
I try to find Tessa, but I can't see her anywhere. So she really did leave. Great.
Ro's eyes scan the edges of the arena and land on something in the far corner. Try as I might, I can't see what she sees.
Pointing at the corner, her fingers curl into a fist, and she pulls her arm into her side.
The corner flies in closer, but there's nothing there.
Rowena frowns. "What?"
I see a flash of movement off to my side, but don't dare look at it. Maybe Tessa didn't abandon me after all. But looking at her wouldn't help her. It would only reveal her location to our opponents.
Now, Ro and Cas are both frantically looking around the room, trying to locate Tessa. But they're not having any luck.
Our roles had reversed since the start of the fight. Tessa was now serving as the perfect distraction. Both Cas and Ro were completely focused on her, which gave me the opportunity to strike. And how could I not?
All I have to do is summon one burst of magic and push Cas and Ro out of the arena. No problem. Not at all.
I tried to bring back the warmth that I felt earlier. Surprisingly, it did. The heat and tingling flare back to life, making me shudder. An uncontrollable grin splits open my face. Maybe I am good at this magic thing after all.
The heat increases and my whole body feels electrified. Had it always felt this intense and painful? Whatever, me and my magic were ready to go.
My hands are already glowing by the time I pull them up. I can't contain my excitement. I'm doing it! I'm really using magic! Focusing everything I have on my hands, I point at Ro and Cas who are both conveniently placed near the edge of the arena. They must be so focused on Tessa, they don't even realize where they're standing.
I smirk. This is too perfect. I could feel my magic ready to burst. With one final breath, I let my magic loose just as a wall of purple appears in front of me.
And my world goes white.
----------------------------------
My hearing returns first. A sharp ringing echoes in my head. As it slowly fades away, the sound of voices filters through.
"Do you know how difficult it's going to be to repair this gym?" The first voice is stern, angry.
"I'm sorry! I didn't know he would do that. I- I didn't want this to happen." The second voice sounds panicky and raspy. Had they been crying? "Why would you think that fight was a good idea? He could be dead!"
"He's not dead." A third voice, one very close to me, says. They didn't sound angry or panicked, just calm.
What's happening? I struggle to regain consciousness, my body fighting me the whole way. The last of the ringing in my ears disappears and all I can see is blurry lights. I hear a pained groan. Was that me?
"See? Not dead. A little battered, but that's to be expected." Something next to me stirs and moves away. "You didn't do anything wrong. We can repair the gym easily enough." A pause, and I think I hear someone huff. "Your shield didn't do this, Tessa. I think he depleted his magic when he blasted off there at the end."
Oh, right. The battle. My memory came back to me in a rush of bright images. Did Tessa and I cause some sort of explosion? That must be Cas talking now. Did he just say something about depleting my magic?
A bolt of alarm zips through me, pushing me back into consciousness. I shoot straight up, gasping for air.
Instantly, Ro, Cas, and Tessa gather around me, but I can't get my breathing under control enough to hear them. Deplete my magic? Like, all my magic? I couldn't feel any trace of the warmth from earlier. Did I just waste everything in one stupid fight? No, no, no! I never even got to do anything cool like stop time or warp without The Book. How could this have happened?
"Easy, Joe. Just breathe. You were knocked out for a few minutes, but everything is fine now." Cas's face fills my view and he puts my hand on his chest. "Breathe with me. In and out. In and out."
I match his breathing as best I can, and eventually the world comes back into focus. I manage to say a few words, "Is my magic gone forever?"
Cas's head jerks back in shock. "Why would you think that?"
"Because you said I depleted my magic." My chest constricts and my breathing picks up again.
He laughs with a shake of his head. "No, your magic is not gone. In fact, I would say your magic is a lot stronger than I expected it to be at this stage. But that stunt you pulled did expend all of your energy. You'll need to rest for a day, but you'll be fine. I promise."
"Stunt?" I took a moment to look at all three of them. Rowena was frowning, but not at me. Her focus was on Tessa, whose eyes were red and locked onto me. "What exactly did I do?"
"You nearly turned yourself into a bomb!" Tessa threw her arms in the air. "I told you to distract them, not attack them!"
"I did?" For the first time, I take in the scene around me. The gym is completely destroyed. Black scorch marks cover the floor all around us and smoke still hovers in the air. Part of the seating had collapsed. Even the ceiling had cracks branching out from where I had been standing before I blacked out. "Oh. Uh, sorry?" What were you supposed to say when you nearly blew up a building?
Cas suppresses a smile. "It's really not that bad. This place has survived a lot worse, trust me. But no more magical attacks like that, until we've got you trained. Okay?"
I mutely nod, not sure what else to do. To be honest, I don't think I could summon any magic now even if I wanted to. I've never felt so exhausted in my entire life. Everything in me ached, and it took a lot of effort just to sit upright.
"Did I really do this all by myself?" The damage in the gym is intense. And what about that flash of purple I saw right before I tried to shoot at Cas and Ro? My magic did feel a little uncontrolled at the end, but surely I'm not capable of this kind of destruction.
"No, but Tessa's force field blocked your magic from going out." Rowena crossed her arms, still clearly upset with Tessa. "It bounced off the shield and shot straight back into itself."
"But I didn't know he was going to do that! I didn't mean to hurt him." Tessa turns to me with wide eyes. "Please, believe me, Joe. Even if we're not exactly friends, I would never try to hurt you like that."
I want to snap back and tell her I don't believe her, but something in her eyes makes me stop. She looks on the verge of tears and has clearly cried at some point already. Why did she care if I got hurt? She'd made it clear that she didn't care about anyone but herself.
Instead of saying anything, I simply turn away and glare at the ground.
"I-" Tessa starts, but is quickly interrupted.
"Enough." Cas puts himself between everyone. Stopping any fights before they can start. "We all have a big day ahead of us tomorrow, and we can all use a good night's rest."
"What's happening for us tomorrow?" I ask. He had mentioned he and Ro had a council meeting tomorrow, but what were Tessa and I going to be doing? Were we going to sit in with them?
"We'll talk about that at breakfast," Ro said in a tone that implied if she told us now, we wouldn't sleep at all tonight. Great, so something not fun was happening tomorrow.
With help from Cas, I got to my feet, and after an awkward good night to everyone, I stumbled to my room. I was asleep before my head even hit my pillow.

ACC Day 10- Labels
TwT I thought I was doing so well...I made another long one today, which might explain why it’s late. Hope you can forgive me. This was a fun prompt! It was nice to do something a bit unusual with it. Hope you all enjoy!
Today I’m using Roy Carmine from Blazblue, along with some Roylitchi because I can’t help it. It’s also a bit more headcanon-heavy, with autistic bisexual trans man Roy because those are all the ones I have for him.
No matter what, Roy would always remember the first time he met Litchi. Partly because it was one of the biggest social blunders he had ever made, and his anxiety absolutely refused to let it go.
He had been distracted that day, worrying so much about Kokonoe’s project and finding a way to pick up the new temp that he’d wound up plowing right into her as he rounded the corner.
The combination of embarrassment from his own clumsiness and flustered awkwardness from how pretty the new trainee was made him stumble over his words without thinking. Litchi, Litchi, she had such a pretty name. How had Kokonoe not mentioned it until now?
“I-I thought so. I’m Lotte Carmine-”
A sense of dread rose up his chest, and he desperately hoped that Litchi hadn’t heard him right. Did his voice crack? Did he sound funny? This was the last thing he wanted to do upon meeting a new person. After trying so hard to make sure nobody called him that, why did he just go ahead and do it himself?
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Carmine!”
He let out a little exhale internally. Mr. Carmine. She called him Mr. Carmine.
“Oh, feel free to call me Roy.” Maybe he could pass it off as a nickname?
Litchi seemed to take it in stride. Before he knew it, they were falling into an amicable chat, only to be interrupted by Kokonoe. Even as aggravating as she could be, Roy was secretly relieved that Kokonoe wouldn’t stoop to calling him the wrong name on purpose.
He’d always thought Lotte was a dumb name, even for a girl. He didn’t know what had possessed his parents to pick it. He had started going by Roy way back when he was a teenager, when he finally had a word to describe why it felt so wrong when people called him a ‘cute young lady.’ He bemoaned his short stature and higher-pitched voice, but after finding a good binder, cutting his hair short, and finding other little tricks to help him present in a more masculine way, he felt far more comfortable in his own skin.
Even beyond that, though, Roy struggled on how he wanted to label himself. He knew his neurotic personality and social struggles weren’t related to his gender. He wasn’t even sure how to classify his preferences when it came to other people. He knew he loved Litchi, whether she liked him back or not, but he wasn’t entirely sure if he was limited to women. And if he wasn’t, was that bad?
The more he worked with Litchi, the more he realized that there were a lot of secrets she didn’t know about him. He wasn’t sure if he was ready to spill everything all at once. How would she respond? He didn’t want to scare her away.
Would Litchi still like him if he told her everything?
++++++
The first time he let something slip, she had come over to his quarters for dinner. It wasn’t anything fancy, but the experiments had been going well, and they felt like a little celebration had been in order. They’d migrated to the couch afterwards, turning on a sci-fi flick that, to his delight, Litchi enjoyed just as much as he did.
“Wow, the effects in this are excellent!” She said, watching a mechanical monster shudder to life with a roar.
“The casting isn’t too shabby, either. I never expected the main lead to be so well-cast, the guy who did this usually does lower-budget stuff.” He replied with a smile.
Litchi nodded. “He’s rather handsome, too. Something about him.”
“I agree!” Roy felt the blood leave his face as soon as he spoke. Why hadn’t he been thinking?
After a moment, he decided that there wasn’t much of a better time. “Ah...Litchi? Is it okay if I ask you something?”
“Sure, Roy, what is it?” She didn’t seem at all aware of his nervousness as she turned to look at him.
“I’m not entirely sure on this, but...I think I might be bisexual.”
Litchi’s expression didn’t waver. “Oh?”
He didn’t know how to properly respond. “Is that...okay?”
She smiled at him. “Of course it is. I certainly wouldn’t judge you for it. I’m just glad you felt like you could be open with me.”
In that split-second, Roy fell even more in love.
++++++
The second time had come a lot sooner than he would have liked. Then again, his meltdowns often did, too. Unlike the first, it had been the exact opposite of a good day. The lab studies had turned up virtually nothing new for days, the all-nighters had left him on less than four hours of sleep, and Kokonoe had been so annoyed by Relius’ visit that she’d practically thrown the coffee he had made right back in his face. Roy was exhausted, overstimulated, and miserable, which was how he had wound up in the breakroom corner, rocking back and forth while yanking at his hair.
It was embarrassing to have a meltdown in public, but it wasn’t something he could stop. His shirt was wet and gross but he couldn’t take it off, and he was pretty sure it had gotten to his binder, too. He wasn’t sure if he had another clean shirt back at home, but he couldn’t focus enough to get out of his ball on the floor and check.
“Roy?”
In most cases, hearing more voices while he was overstimulated just made things worse. He could recognize Litchi’s voice immediately, though, silky-soft and gentle.
“Roy, are you okay?” She knelt down in front of him. There was concern in her eyes.
He wished he could have responded properly. Talking was too much for him to handle at the moment. The closest he could manage was a gasp and a shudder.
Litchi extended a hand. “Is it alright if I touch you? I just want to make sure you aren’t injured.”
That was something he was pretty sure he could tolerate. Roy managed a nod, and practically melted into Litchi’s warm, careful touch. It was oddly soothing as she meticulously ran fingers over his head and down the base of his neck in search of any wounds. She was sure to calmly explain what she was doing and why she was doing it while she worked, so he knew what was happening.
By the time she was finished, Roy could feel his muscles starting to unclench. He wasn’t prepared to start chatting again, but Litchi gave him another hand and helped him to his feet, which he managed.
“Come on, let’s go back to your room. I’m sure you’d rather get into some dry clothes.”
She was remarkably patient with him, and Roy couldn’t believe how lucky he had gotten. Litchi never snapped at him or glared. She was perfectly willing to wait outside while he changed, pulling on the comfiest shirt he had and wrapping his arms around himself.
“Is everything alright in there?”
“Mmhm.” He paused. “You can come in.”
“Do you feel a bit better now?” Litchi gave him a careful glance.
“A lot. Thanks for helping me…” His faint smile fell. He supposed there wasn’t much beating around the bush. “Litchi? Is it ok if I tell you something?”
“Of course, you can always talk to me.”
“I didn’t mean to cause such a mess earlier. I’m autistic, and I’m not very good at processing a lot of stress and sensory information all at once. Whenever it gets too much for me, I have a meltdown.”
She nodded affirmatively. “I see. I was wondering if it was something like that.”
“You’re not mad?”
“Why would I be?” She quirked an eyebrow in genuine puzzlement. “I’m just sorry I wasn’t able to help you sooner. If this starts happening again, just let me know, okay? However I can make it easier for you.”
A moment later, Roy threw his arms around her in a tight hug. She let him.
++++++
Roy wasn’t sure that he would have ever been quite ready to let his last little secret out. He and Litchi had been getting close, to the point where he was almost ready to ask her out on a real, bona-fide date. It felt like there were more important things to worry about. He was just waiting for the right time.
...He was bad at lying to himself.
“According to the weather schedule, it’s going to be excellent beach weather in the next few days.” Litchi spoke up over breakfast. “That sounds fun, doesn’t it? Nice weather, swimming...it’ll be good after such a long winter.”
He could already feel a bit of stress mounting. Excuses weren’t really his strong suit. Litchi sounded so excited about the concept, but it was the last place he wanted to go.
“I’m not really sure, Litchi. I’m not much of a beach person. Maybe somewhere else?”
“Really? You’ve sounded so excited for the weather to get warmer, I thought this would be something you’d love?”
Roy gave a shrug. “I’m not much of a swimmer.”
“Oh. Do you not know how? I can teach you.”
“No, it’s…” This wasn’t getting anywhere. He tried not to groan in frustration. “I just don’t want to, that’s all.” It came out far grumpier than he’d meant to, something he realized as soon as it came out of his mouth.
“...okay, then.” Litchi tried not to sound hurt, but Roy could hear it in her voice. She politely excused herself down to the lab, leaving him alone in the breakroom.
“Damn it…” He put his head in his hands, leaving his food untouched. The sound of shoes clicking made him flinch, but it wasn’t who he had been expecting. “Professor Kokonoe?”
“Trouble in paradise? Sounds like you’re being a lovestruck teenager again, Roy. What was that about?” Kokonoe’s face was in its permanent scowl, already chewing on a lollipop despite it being breakfast.
“I-it’s nothing. Litchi just wanted to go to the beach.”
“Oh.” She sounded utterly unphased. “Haven’t told her yet, then?”
Of course Kokonoe knew. She needed to have his medical files when he started working. He was still amazed she hadn’t let anything slip.
“I can’t think of a good reason to. That’s all.”
Kokonoe seemed even less impressed. “Bullshit. Look, I know this is a really difficult thing for you, but do you really think Litchi of all people is gonna care? Trying to keep secrets is just gonna stress you out.”
Roy faltered. “I...don’t know.”
For once, the professor’s severe expression faded. She placed a hand on his shoulder. “It’s Litchi. She’s practically smitten with you already. I don’t think she’s suddenly gonna hate you for something like that.”
Loathe to admit it, she was actually making some good points. He didn’t want to consider the possibility of tiptoeing around Litchi forever. Maybe it would just be easier if he was upfront.
“Roy, have you seen-” Litchi cut herself off, spotting Kokonoe as she re-entered the room. “There you are, professor. I was just looking for you.”
“Yeah? Whattaya need?” She reached up to scratch one of her ears.
“I’ve made some adjustments to my calculations, I was wondering if you could proofread them?”
“That’s all? Yeah, yeah, I can look it over later. I’m sure it’s fine, you always double-check.”
Litchi was taken aback by the sudden response, but nodded. “Alright, then. I guess I’ll head back to work, then. Anything else before I go?”
“I got nothing.” While she spoke, Roy caught a look flashed in his direction, just for a split-second.
“Okay. Let me know if-”
“Litchi?”
The woman paused, turning back around. “Did you need something, Roy?”
“Sort of.” He wrung his hands together. “We’re honest with each other, right? Like the last time. I can tell you things, can’t I?”
Based on Litchi’s expression, she knew what he was recalling. “Absolutely, Roy. I want you to trust me. Is something wrong?”
His mind was yelling at him to stop talking, bail, emergency exit. Roy continued on anyway. “Maybe I should have told you earlier, but I was afraid. I didn’t know what you’d think of me. I wanted to be friends.”
“Roy…?”
“Remember back on the first day you came to work in the lab? When we first talked?”
She nodded silently.
“I told you my name was Lotte. That’s-” he tried to think of a good way to phrase it “-my birth name. My deadname. I’m a trans man.”
Litchi was silent. Roy braced himself for shouting, for disappointed looks, for anything she could possibly throw at him. He had finally told her, now all that was left was to see what came of it.
“...You aren’t binding with bandages, are you?”
“What?” He was so taken off-guard by the question, he could hardly respond. “N-no, of course I don’t.”
“Good.” There was a steely glint in the woman’s eyes. “I figured you’d know better, but I thought I’d ask just in case. I see why you wouldn’t want to go to the beach, then. I definitely don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable, is there someplace else you’d like to- Roy, are you crying?”
Was he crying? He didn’t even notice until she mentioned it. It felt like a good cry, though. All the fear and paranoia that had been stockpiling for a long time all flooded out at once.
“C’mere…” Litchi pulled him in for a hug. He buried himself in her shoulder, tears of relief running down his face.
“You’re not mad?”
“Of course I’m not.” She left a kiss on his temple. “No matter what, you’re still Roy. And you’re still my friend.”

Note
what would you do if i say 1-15 forthe power couple yis~? >W>
I would say Tough challenge but I accept!! X)
It’s under the read more because it’ll be a lot of writing -w-
1. Who is the one who asks crazy questions, and who is the one who tells the other to go to sleep?
Chester, he’s always asking himself crazy questions and rarely sleeps, so if Cinder’s with him, you can bet he’d be sending those questions her way. She tells him to go to sleep mostly because his questions make less and less sense as time goes on and she worries what the lack of sleep is doing to his brain. TwT
2. It is summer by the lake side, their best friends owns the lot beside them, what shenanigans do they pull?
I feel like whatever it is would be Cinder’s idea at first, but they’d end up not really pulling any “shenanigans” as such, at least not in their own eyes.
Chester would end up reorganising something in their house, from a shelf up to a whole room, while Cinder searches about, comes across a pet the owners left for the weekend or whatever, and just walks out cradling it. It is their pet now. There are items left everywhere that Chester promises he meant to put away. A little trail of pet food tracks from room to room where Cinder has tried to take all the relevant supplies at once. The homeowner probably isn’t their friend anymore. No-one has any regrets.
3. Who wants to take lots of pictures and is always smiling and who looks pissed off no matter what photo they are in?
Hmmm.. well Cinder does have a serious mode she can/does access a lot more than Chester ever does, but not usually when the two of them are together. I could see this being the way around though in some kind of au where they’re both in the same wider group, one that’s together all the time. Maybe like a band of orphans or something.
If they bonded there, Chester would be so happy to feel a reciprocated connection and thinks that Cinder is so beautiful anyway that pictures could naturally come to mind as a fun pastime, while maybe Cinder becomes protective of him around other members of the group, and ends up looking serious often- possibly even annoyed at Chester’s oblivious photo-taking when she feels he’s more under threat.
4. Who is more likely to start a fun rap battle with the other?
(Again I’m going to guess this is like a modern au since I’m not sure either of them know what rap even is otherwise >w>)
Maybeee.. Cinder?
I have a feeling that, with the slightly more confident and goofy personality I see him with in a lot of modern aus, plus his musical interest, it would start out as Chester, just for fun. But Cinder, an avid reader in modern twists mixed with her confidence and the strategy involved in fighting in her canon verse, I feel would probably be a lot better at it than Chester~
So he would stop trying to challenge her as much, but encourages her to rap sometimes about random things as entertainment for them both, and then gets pulled back into the fun himself by Cinder~
5. Water balloon fight! Who wins?
They’re in a water balloon fight, sounds like they’re both already winners~ >w>
6. It’s a cold winter day and they are cuddled up in blankets by the fire, what stories do they reminisce about?
Fun things first. Well, things that maybe weren’t fun at the time, or wouldn’t be fun to us, but they find ways to laugh about them later. Like their meeting, they can laugh about how they were so at odds at first, seeing each other as threats when they didn’t know what their relationship would end up becoming. Or the time maybe Chester did something dumb and nearly got crushed by his own invention. The time Cinder flooded his house and they had to dry out all of his clothes bit by bit over the much smaller fire, once they could finally get hold of dry kindling.
And then they might drift onto sadder things, looking at how important the fire is to sustaining life at the camp. Maybe how shocked Chester was at what their winter is like. Wondering together why they can’t live in warmth like this, as happy as this, and as safe as this, all the time.
And deciding that someday, they will.
7. Who made the other laugh so hard their beverage came out their nose?
Chester, and it’s the proudest moment of his entire life.
8. How do their personalities compliment each other?
Ohhh dUde. Is there a single way that they don’t? X’) The closest I can think of to them opposing each other is when Cinder’s “fight for what’s right” attitude clashes with Chester’s “stay quiet and they won’t have a reason to get worse” one. But even that, over time, changes.
As Chester gets more confident, he has enough strength to fight for Cinder and the camp when he needs to. He will find a non-violent way wherever possible, while still taking action. Given that he’s under oath and they’re working together, Cinder (also now allowing herself to balance out her fierce, steely personality with her softer side more often), understands that more too, and doesn’t push for action when she doesn’t need to.
They sort of blend those parts of themselves with each other and end up, still mostly on different sides of the line, but close enough to the middle to understand each other’s decisions and coordinate incredibly well~
(And again, that’s not counting any of the many aspects of their personality that complimented each other at the start!)
9. Who tells their partner to be careful before their partner goes and does something incredibly stupid?
Probably both, but, differently. When Chester has to warn Cinder, it probably means she’s about to go and take a risk or act rashly. When Cinder has to warn Chester - which, probably happens more often - it’ll be more… Traditionally stupid. X)
Messing with something that’s about to zap him, “don’t touch tha-” followed by the clanging sound of Chester dropping the thing on the floor, “isn’t this piece supposed to go on this side?” And then whatever machine Chester is building just, falls apart. Stuff like that I can see happening a fair amount -w-
10. Who is completely oblivious that the other likes them all while hoping that the other does?
I feel like both of them would be oblivious, but differently, but also the same?
Chester would fall for Cinder first, in a way, because his culture involves being very open emotionally, but he would never consider that Cinder might like him back and would never dare to hope for it.
Cinder on the other hand is used to forgetting her wants and needs and can’t really allow herself to dream about sentimentality and love because for one, her job is inherently self-sacrificing and two, you need strength and focus more than anything to survive in that environment.
So I think she would battle for a while between wondering what these feelings are about and telling herself not to feel them. But when they really hit peak and she realises, she would hope inside that he likes her back while still trying not to show it. Which, would work on Chester, because, again, oblivious. -w-
11. Who is ready to throw hands for their partner?
Both now, but it’s probably just Cinder early on.
12. Who always kisses their partner before they leave?
Both!! ^^
13. Who is the one who gets really sappy when they are tired and who thinks it’s adorable?
Hmmmm…. I’m not sure? When Chester gets tired (which, given his regular lack-of-sleep schedule is pretty often) he gets more animated, edgy, jittery, etc. And I don’t know if Cinder would be one to get sappy when she’s tired or not. Buut, I do kind of imagine she might if there’s alcohol involved >w> not sure why
