every couple of months i remember my fav unknown musical exists (foreverman by brett boles, which only ever got a summerstock run at nymf in 2012) && i'm currently rotating it in my mind in b.accano context because it's literally about two alchemists who discover an immortality elixir, && it follows their struggle with eternal life.

some of the songs that really hit are... sons of adam (huge maiza energy as well as huey && elmer) maybe our deed could be well justified / biblical precedence all set aside / if we don't think of cheating the grave / just think of the people we'll save / sons of adam driven from eden / needed something great to believe in / humanity needs us / let's answer the call / and make up for adam's great fall / as sons of adam / there's no denying / we're growing older, slowly we're dying / so drink with me, brother / and reclaim our right / as sons of adam / we're brothers tonight no fate worse than life (there's big maiza energy here too) there is no fate worse than life / there is no fate worse than life / the centuries go sweeping by / and leave me in their wake / and though i know i'll never die because of one mistake / still i will wait / for there is no fate worse than life

When they fight, they both go into catastrophe mode and abandon the house tbh

6) Who takes photos of the other while they sleep?

That’s definitely Monica.

17) Who is more protective?

They’re both protective practically to the degree of parody. Monica’s quiet and secretive and self-controlled about it. Huey is explosive about it.

19) Who drives and who has the window seat?

Monica’s the driver, I think? Huey likes to stare moodily out windows.

23) Who thinks they are not good enough for the other’s love? and who’s more afraid of losing the other? Who thinks they keep messing up, only for the other to tell them they don’t need to worry?

Losing the other would devastate both of them to an unrecoverable amount, but Huey’s the one more inclined to think that he doesn’t deserve Monica’s love. In Monica’s mind, there’s no question of “deserving” it--either she has it or she doesn’t. Huey’s more idealistic and moralistic. That said, they don’t really have moments of feeling that they’ve messed up, per se... I suspect conflict between the two of them tends to arise when they come across strongly held beliefs or perspectives that they don’t share but aren’t willing to back down on. Then they panic because WHAT IF THAT MEANS THEY CAN’T BE TOGETHER ANYMORE. ...chill, guys.
