After too many years here I've final what hornets' nests I am not brave enough to kick
#m/cc#thought about making a certain post and decided... no... I would rather not#I am not prepared for responses to that. it might actually kill me#specifically it was:#'going gluten/dairy/food dye-free CAN improve certain neurodevelopmental things but it cannot 'cure' autism/ADHD/Tourette's'#I already know I'd get vitriol both from people claiming I think autism comes from gluten or 'needs cured' because they can't read the post#and that I'm trying to trick everyone into going gluten-free because Toxins or something and lying about a connection#(even though (neuro)dev disorders can be made worse by flaring immune issues like - oh I don't know - undiagnosed gluten intolerance?#hypersensitivity to certain food dyes?#we already know autism and ADHD in particular have HUGE correlations with gastro and immune issues#which is why some mommy bloggers genuinely do see symptom improvement from diet changes)#and from people saying 'um actually no-gluten DID cure my nephew's ADHD?? the science is on our side/big gluten is covering up the research#and I don't know if I could handle dozens of people per day telling me I'm a science denier AND a eugenist from both sides#I am simply. ADHD. and autistic. and incredibly interested in the wild amount of comorbid physical disorders that correlate with these#autoimmune and gastro issues but also loose/hypermobile joints; epilepsy; delayed sleep phase disorder; COPD; skin conditions#it's so fascinating to me and provides a huge chunk of data to run with re: the gut-brain axis#whether [neurodev] causes [other]/[other] causes [neurodev] or an underlying thing causes both is unknown#but honestly with the huge interest in the gut-brain axis and microbiome in the past decade or so#I think we're going to see a lot more research in the next thirty or forty years examining physical comorbidities with neurodev stuff#I'm probably not gonna link to research because I don't wanna just start the war anyway and I'm too tired to go back and find the articles#but the TL;DR of the tags is neurodev stuff isn't caused by gluten intolerance but if you're unknowingly aggravating a gluten intolerance#you're probably not gonna feel great and it's gonna make your symptoms worse because of the effect it has on your body#it's like a very mild long-term allergic reaction and yeah if you get rid of that it'll improve other areas (e.g. sleep cycle; irritability#so of Course it's gonna improve a bunch of things-that-get-worse-with-poor-sleep/decreased-stress-tolerance#if you were always sitting on a slightly uncomfortable chair you'd probably do a lot better if I switched the chair#just because you can focus better or you didn't know the chair was uncomfortable doesn't mean it caused your ADHD#also in this case the chair affects your hormone levels and immune response and what chemicals accidentally leak into your bloodstream#if you're interested look it up there's been a Ton of research on correlations of specific physical issues with neurodev in recent years

How Does Homeopathy Help In Allergy?
In addition to the treatment of constitutional homeopathy, there are many remedies that are prescribed for the treatment of acute symptoms of allergic diseases. During an acute allergic crisis, there are various drugs specifically used to treat certain symptoms that can be administered to treat the acute condition. The following are some of the most commonly used homeopathic remedies for acute hay fever symptoms.
With over 100 homeopathic remedies for hay fever, your best bet is to seek professional treatment from a qualified homeopath. With the help of homeopathy, the frequency and intensity of hay fever flare-ups can be reduced over time. It is usually not necessary to take the treatment all the time—for example, taking homeopathic remedies before hay fever season begins can protect patients throughout the season by reducing the need for antihistamines.
The Homeopathic Research Institute has identified more than one hundred remedies for effective treatment of allergies and hay fever. Natural homeopathic remedies that are very helpful in treating nasal allergies are Allium Cepa, Arsenic Album, Arundo Mauri, Kali Bichromicum and Gelsemium. These products use natural ingredients to make pills that can help treat allergies and asthma. Homeopathy, another common allergy natural remedy, is a milder form of treatment that is more likely to relieve health problems or symptoms associated with allergies, food intolerances, and sensitivities.
Homeopathy creates homeopathy by diluting the allergen using the exact substance causing the symptoms. Homeopathy consists in providing the patient with the substance to which he is allergic, in the potency of homeopathy. It is best to schedule a consultation with the best homeopathy doctor for allergy  so that he can choose a treatment individually for you.

This study shows how many adolescents with Depression have food sensitivities. It found that over 80% of adolescents with depression in the study had some form of food sensitivity. Only  13.04% of the control group had these food sensitivities.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/.../pii/S1672022919300968...Study Reference: Tao, R., Fu, Z. and Xiao, L. (2019). Chronic Food Antigen-specific IgG-mediated Hypersensitivity Reaction as A Risk Factor for Adolescent Depressive Disorder. Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics, [online] 17(2), pp.183–189.
Another important study relevant to the topic of food sensitivities in psychiatric conditions is this one: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/10/5/548/htmIt found that 64% of subjects from the Major Depressive Disorder group experienced 'IgG food hyperreactivity'. Karakula-Juchnowicz, et al (2018). The Food-Specific Serum IgG Reactivity in Major Depressive Disorder Patients, Irritable Bowel Syndrome Patients and Healthy Controls. Nutrients, 10(5), p.548. (CC BY license)
The study found that those with Major Depressive Disorder had more IgG reacting against Broccoli, Gluten, Garlic, Horseradish, Milk, Rye, and Celery. Some people were reacting to vegetables. This shows that sometimes looking after your wellbeing isn't as simple as having a healthy diet (though it's important), but is also about finding out how your unique body reacts to certain foods.
There are many studies showing that people with certain psychiatric conditions appear to have higher rates of food sensitivities (which usually seem to be IgG mediated.) There have also been case studies about people with conditions such as Depression & Schizophrenia experiencing symptom reduction when food sensitivities are eliminated from the diet. It is really important to note that everyone has different food sensitivities. Eg. One person may be sensitive to gluten, and another sensitive to dairy, citrus fruits, sunflower seeds, etc.
This brings me onto the question... If numerous studies show how people with certain psychiatric conditions often have food sensitivities, why are food sensitivities (specifically IgG delayed sensitivities) not routinely tested for in mental health clinics?
Food sensitivities impact me immensely. Food dyes trigger rages, dairy impacted my tics, and sunflower oil would trigger nausea and loss of sensation. Infections also have this sort of impact on me. More research needs to be done in this area.
We need to understand why so many people with psychiatric conditions have food sensitivities, and why some people report a reduction in psychiatric symptoms when these sensitivities are eliminated from the diet.
The immune system has been found to play a role in many mental illnesses. Many mental illness cases have a biomedical cause. You cannot truly support a person's mental health unless you also consider and address the underlying physical components. It is a lot more than just 'a chemical imbalance', you have to ask 'what causes the imbalance? It also goes beyond genetics. A person may have a genetic predisposition to reacting to certain foods (and/or infections) in a way which impacts the brain.
Food sensitivities are not always an underlying issue for everyone, but people deserve to be made aware that there is a chance that food sensitivities may be impacting them. IgG mediated food sensitivities are unlikely to show up on conventional allergy tests. Conventional allergy tests often check for immediate reaction allergies (IgE) but IgG sensitivities are more delayed. The IgG tests often need to be paid for out of pocket and searched for online.

Its use as a food dye e129 vegan  is against the law in European Union and some different countries.  This substance has been found to have tumorigenic consequences in experimental animals, in addition to mutagenic consequences in each experimental animals and human beings. It moreover dangers infection of eyes, pores and skin, digestive tract, and respiration tract in its undiluted form.
Tumblr media
FD&C Red No. 40 – Allura Red AC, E129 (red coloration)- changed into at the beginning made of coal tar but is now in most cases crafted from petroleum.  Related dyes consist of Sunset Yellow FCF, Scarlet GN, tartrazine, and Orange B.  Some reports advocate that intake of certain combinations of artificial food colors and sodium benzoate preservative are related to increases in hyperactive behaviour and interest deficit hyperactivity sickness and lower IQs had been determined in kids.  It can also trigger cancer in the frame.

"primary colours"

ahşap masa How to  relieve eczema
Also called dermatitis, eczema is a noncontagious skin inflammation that produces itchy skin, red, rashlike areas. These occur on the face, scalp, wrists, and hands, as well as at the crease of the elbows, in back of the knees and sometimes elsewhere on the body. http://masifmobilya.org Eczema can spread or worsen if you scratch the affected areas. And persistent scratching or rubbing can bring on chronic eczema, chronic itchy skin, with its distinctive dark, thickened, scaly red patches.
There are different types of eczema, some classified by causes, others by specific symptoms. Atopic dermatitis is marked by a hypersensitivity, or allergy, to a food, inhalant, or other common substance that doesn't bother most people. It tends to be genetically linked, affecting individuals with a family history of hay fever, asthma, or eczema.
Flaking and scaling on the face and scalp are typical of seborrheic dermatitis, while contact dermatitis produces an acute local rash after someone sensitive to it comes in contact with an irritant (say, the nickel in jewelry or the oil on a poison ivy leaf). A separate type of itchy skin, stasis dermatitis, affects the lower legs and ankles and is associated with insufficient circulation of blood in those areas.
Key Symptoms
Itchy, red rashlike patches of skin that are dry, rough, scaly or cracked Small red pimplelike blisters Leaking ("weeping") of fluid, crusting and flaking in affected areas Chafing and peeling Thickened, dry patches of skin in persistent cases Itching, swelling and inflammation in lower legs and around ankles (stasis dermatitis)
What Causes Eczema?
Allergies are a common cause of eczema. People who are susceptible tend to have a personal or family history of allergic reactions to foods, pollen, animal fur or other substances. Many people with eczema also have (or eventually develop) hay fever or asthma, and their bodies often contain above-normal amounts of histamine, a chemical that triggers an allergic defense reaction in the skin when it's released.
Eczema symptoms can be triggered by such foods as milk, eggs, shellfish, nuts, wheat, strawberries, and chocolate.
They can also be aggravated by contact with various substances, including animal fur, plant allergens, such as poison ivy and poison sumac, jewelry containing chrome and especially nickel (watchbands, rings, earrings), cosmetics (including nail polish), fragrances, deodorants and antiperspirants, shaving lotions and skin creams, different types of fabrics (particularly wool and silk), dyes, latex and rubber, leathers, and household cleaning agents (including dishwashing and laundry detergents
Other factors associated with outbreaks of eczema are dry air; too much sun; stress; topical medications and certain drugs, such as penicillin; hot baths; and exposure to dust, pollen, and animal dander.
Treatment and Prevention
Soothing creams and ointments can help to lessen the excruciating  itchy skin  of eczema--and it's important not to scratch, as this can worsen the condition. A variety of nutritional supplements can also provide relief.
How Supplements Can Help
Because people respond differently to supplements, many eczema sufferers have to try several before they find one (or a good combination) that works well for them.
Evening primrose oil (in capsules, soft gels, or liquid) contains essential fatty acids that can help revitalize the skin and relieve itching and inflammation. Studies have shown that recommended daily doses of evening primrose oil can reduce the need for    creams. Alternatives to evening primrose oil are the less expensive black currant and borage seed oils.
Flaxseed oil contains equal amounts of both omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, which can be helpful in the treatment of any chronic allergic condition, including eczema.
Fish oils were found to relieve chronic eczema in a double-blind study. They appear to work by reducing levels of leukotriene B-4, a substance in the body involved with the inflammation of eczema. Eating cold-water fish regularly is the best source for fish oils, but if you're not a fish fan, you can always take fish oil capsules.
Grape seed extract is rich in flavonoids (antioxidant substances that inhibit the body's allergic responses). Grape seed extract can help relieve and prevent the itchy skin flare-ups of eczema.

Common Causes of Tooth Sensitivity
Tumblr media
Some people may experience tooth sensitivity when they drink hot or cold beverages, eat certain foods, or chew gum, and it’s important to know the causes of this sensitivity in order to get proper treatment from your dentist. This article talks about some of the common causes of tooth sensitivity. If you suspect that you have tooth sensitivity or have other oral concerns, make an appointment with your dentist so that you can determine what’s causing your tooth sensitivity and learn about your treatment options!
Tooth Whitening
Tumblr media
During tooth whitening, a dentist will apply peroxide to affected teeth, which will gradually lighten them. However, since peroxide is an oxidizing agent, it can cause damage to your tooth enamel if left on for too long. Additionally, some over-the-counter products may contain abrasives that can damage your teeth over time. It’s best to talk with your dentist about what product or process is best for you and discuss any risk factors associated with tooth sensitivity.
It’s also important to note that peroxide is an oxidizing agent, which means it can cause damage to your tooth enamel. It’s best to apply whitening products for no more than 15 minutes at a time. OTC whiteners that contain abrasives may also be harmful over time because they tend to weaken and eventually wear down your enamel.
Gum Recession
Tumblr media
If you’re experiencing tooth sensitivity on top or bottom teeth, it could be a sign that gum recession is to blame. As you brush your teeth with a manual or electric toothbrush, plaque and tartar can build up along your gum line. This calcification then makes direct contact with your gums, irritating them and causing pain when exposed to hot or cold liquids. If left untreated, bone loss may occur — which means sensitive teeth can lead to other oral health issues. To prevent these complications, make sure to visit your dentist for regular cleanings.
Dental Trauma
Dentists estimate that 1 in 3 adults will experience tooth sensitivity at some point in their life. Dental trauma — meaning, something hits a tooth and makes it hurt — is one of the most common causes of sensitive teeth. Dentists also call it impact dentin hypersensitivity (IDH). Dentistry can’t explain why exactly dental trauma creates pain, but they think it has to do with nerve endings beneath a tooth’s surface becoming exposed when cells are damaged or missing. The good news is that no matter how painful your dentist says these symptoms are, it doesn’t cause any permanent damage to your teeth or gums.
Polishing Agents in Foods
Typically, tooth sensitivity is caused by a food or beverage that contains compounds that disrupt your teeth’s protective barrier. One example is sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which helps create foam in many cleaning products. This ingredient can be found in products like toothpaste, shampoo, soap and even chewing gum. SLS disrupt the protective layer on your teeth’s surface, causing pain when you eat or drink hot or cold foods and beverages. Other ingredients that may cause tooth sensitivity include: polishing agents such as calcium carbonate, chalk and silica; abrasives such as baking soda; tartar control agents, including stannous fluoride, pyrophosphates and zinc citrate; fizz enhancers such as malic acid; spices including cinnamon and cloves; natural food colorings like turmeric extract, annatto extract and carmine dye.

The Importance Of Using Eco-Friendly Dishwashing Equipment
Tumblr media
It is essential to use eco-friendly cleaning products in order to ensure your home is healthy. In absence of harmful chemicals, eco-friendly dishwashing detergents can remove grease, bacteria and food particles off your food items. They are also able to wash areas for food preparation and to prevent contamination by microorganisms that could cause illnesses. Only using eco-friendly dishwasher soap and dishwasher packs can help keep harmful chemicals from our homes as well as from our water systems. You can also decrease the carbon footprint and pollution caused by plastics by buying eco-friendly cleaning products.
Many people are unaware of the ingredients in dish soaps or dishwasher packs, and the potential side effects. Certain ingredients found in dishwashing soaps could cause skin irritations, eye and throat irritations, headaches, as well as contact dermatitis. In addition to being dangerous to our health most dishwashing products have an impact on the environment once they enter the wastewater system.
Common Chemicals in Dishwashing Decents for Dishwashing
Dishwashing products typically contain a range of chemicals including surfactants, bleaches, softeners, fragrances and dyes, preservatives, and other additives. The pollution caused by plastic is also result of dish cleaning products' packaging.
Surfactants
Synthetic surfactants are employed in dishwashing detergents in order to reduce the surface tension of water and to attract grease to clean it off. But, these chemicals break down slowly, leaving the traces in the soil and water. Surfactants can be harmful to fish and can kill their eggs.
Phosphates
Phosphates in dishwashing products reduce water hardness by binding mineral salts and increasing the effectiveness of the product for cleaning. The presence of high levels of phosphate in the water can cause toxic algal blooms that deplete oxygen and release toxic substances which kill plants and fish.
Bleaching agents
Most mainstream brands still contain chlorine-based bleaching agents which increase washing efficiency and help to get rid of stubborn stains on the dishes. The dishwasher's dry cycle releases chlorine bleach fumes to the air that can trigger asthma and respiratory issues. It is also harmful for fish and frogs since it's not easily degraded.
Fragrances
Dishwashing liquids are aromatized with scents that enhance their aroma. The majority of consumers want dishwasher detergents that have a pleasant smell. The phrase "fragrances" can conceal toxic substances that could irritate your skin and cause migraine headaches. They are also bioaccumulative and could cause environmental harm.
Preservatives
Preservatives are used in liquid cleaning products to avoid the growth of microbial and to prevent product spoilage. Preservatives may trigger hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. Preservatives such as triclosan could be hazardous to reproductive systems. Triclosan is also a bioaccumulative, making it dangerous.
Anti-corrosion agents and alkaline salts as well as additives to thicken and synthetic dyes are possible ingredients in dishwashing soaps.
Plastic Packaging: Problems
Plastic packaging can contain contaminants and additives that could be released from plastics, which can contaminate soil air, water, as well as food. Tubes and bottles made of plastic are disposed of in the garbage, which can lead to environmental problems.
If you purchase detergents in plastic bottles , check is if the bottle can be recycled. This information should be clearly displayed on bottles.

Discover the benefits of red yeast rice
The red rice yeast is derived from a fungus called Monascus purpureus. Originally used in China as a food coloring or ingredient, red rice yeast is now recognized as a food supplement with many virtues!
Historical
It is 800 years before our era that the Chinese discover and consume red yeast rice in their gastronomy and traditional medicine. It is used in gastronomy as a dye or spice to enhance the taste of food but also serves as a preservative and ingredient in the manufacture of rice alcohol. Traditional Chinese medicine uses red rice yeast to promote good blood circulation, relieve indigestion and diarrhea patients. It was in the 1990s that red yeast rose from Chinese territory east and introduced in North America. Now known as a dietary supplement, red rice yeast is quickly gaining public favor thanks to its effectiveness on certain diseases.
What is red yeast rice?
The china red yeast rice powder is the result of the fermentation of a red microscopic mushroom, better known as “Monascus purpureus,” grown on white rice. After fermentation, the rice is air-dried, pulverized and encapsulated in the form of tablets or capsules. The red rice yeast contains monacolines, that is to say, substances that inhibit HMG-CoA reductase, including natural lovastatin, which is more commonly known as monacolin K.
An ally of choice in the fight against hypercholesterolemia
Increasing blood cholesterol is a metabolic disorder that needs to be taken very seriously. It can cause very important disorders such as Strokes (Cerebrovascular Stroke) or heart attacks. It is characterized mainly by deposits of cholesterol in the blood system.
The red yeast rice has a high content of monacolin K. The structure of this molecule is very close to some drugs that fight against cholesterol, such as lovastatin for example. Monacolin K is part of the statin family. They play an important role in inhibiting the synthesis of cholesterol by the liver. Monacolin K, therefore, has the effect of lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. Under the action of this molecule, the liver will decrease its secretion of cholesterol. To continue to work, it must, therefore, draw on the bad cholesterol present in the body which will induce a decrease in the latter.
The yeast of red rice contains, in smaller quantities, other substances for fighting too high cholesterol levels such as isoflavones, phytosterols or monounsaturated fatty acids. The effect of red yeast rice on cholesterol levels will be seen after a few weeks of treatment (usually after four weeks). Only a blood test will show a decrease in blood cholesterol levels.
Use red rice yeast well
As with all food supplements, the yeast of red rice is subject to some precautions for use. If in doubt about the dosage or any side effects, it is recommended to call a health professional.
It is advisable always to observe the daily doses of china red yeast rice powder recommended by the manufacturer. Depending on the brand, the dosage will be 1 to 4 capsules, 1 to 2 times a day. Even if taking red rice yeast capsules is well tolerated on a daily basis, it is advisable to take them during a meal. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice within 2 hours before or after taking red yeast rice. To increase the therapeutic effect of red yeast rice, it is recommended to have a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet and to practice regular physical activity.
Red yeast rice is contraindicated for:
Pregnant or lactating women
Children and adolescents
People with hypersensitivity to statins
People with liver and kidney problems
How to choose your food supplement of yeast red rice?
Several packages are available on the market. Red rice yeast is usually in the form of capsules or tablets. Choose the presentation that suits you best. The concentration of monacolin K is also important to take into account. For an optimal therapeutic effect, it is advisable to take between 10 and 12 mg of monacolin K per day, i.e., 1000 to 1200 mg of red rice yeast with 1% of monacoline K.
Choose the organic red rice yeast that will offer you a good quality food supplement. Check that the proposed product is certified without citrinin (a toxin that can cause kidney problems).
Several clinical trials highlight the benefits of red yeast rice. Thanks to its high content of monacolin K, red rice yeast is a natural dietary supplement that effectively combats the rise in cholesterol levels in the blood.

Ingested vs. Contact vs. Inhaled Allergies!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ingested allergies
A food allergy is a type of food intolerance in which a person’s immune system abnormally reacts to food. It’s also known as food hypersensitivity. It’s more common for children to have food allergies than adults. Food allergies are most often caused by:
cow’s milk
nuts
eggs
fruit
Symptoms of food allergies can be mild. Such is the case with hives. Hives can appear when certain foods are eaten. Most people with allergies have elevated levels of food-specific immunoglobulin IgE in their bloodstream. These are antibodies that bind to the allergen and then attach to mast cells in the skin. The mast cells in turn release histamine, which triggers a release of fluid that causes red, itchy, and inflamed skin — known as hives.
More severe symptoms of ingested allergies may include:
abdominal cramps
vomiting
diarrhoea
skin rash
swelling of the lips and eyes which appears and disappears quickly
anaphylaxis, a sudden, extreme allergic reaction characterized by difficulty breathing, swelling of the tongue or throat and may result in death
Any food allergy can progress to anaphylaxis, even if previous exposure reactions have been mild.
Children with food allergies may exhibit behavioural signs such as crying, irritability, or milk refusal.
Contact allergies
Contact allergies occur when an allergen touches a person’s skin.
The symptoms of this type of allergy are usually confined to the area of contact with the skin. Common irritants include:
soaps
detergents
hair dyes
jewellery
solvents
waxes
polishes
Natural allergens include ragweed.
Though annoying, a contact allergy is rarely dangerous. Symptoms of a contact allergy may include skin:
redness
itching
swelling
scaling
blistering
The best way to deal with a contact allergy is to identify and avoid the irritant. Treatments may include:
creams or ointments to help calm symptoms
antihistamines to prevent an allergic reaction
an anti-inflammatory medication such as prednisone in the most serious cases
With treatment, contact allergies usually resolve in a few days. But contact your doctor if there’s drainage from a rash accompanied by pain or fever, or if red streaks emanate from the rash. These are all signs of an infection rather than an allergic reaction.
INHALED ALLERGIES
Inhaled allergies
Inhaled allergies are the most common type of allergy. Symptoms may include:
sneezing
runny nose
watery eyes
itchy eyes
Many people who have inhaled allergies only experience symptoms during certain seasons. Pollen, grass, and mould are the most common triggers of seasonal allergies.
Pollen is a fine powder that comes from trees, weeds, and grass. Each season, beginning in the spring and continuing through the fall, the amount of pollen in the air increases. This increase may trigger allergic symptoms in people sensitive to pollen.
Avoiding pollen isn’t always as simple as retreating inside during allergy season. Other types of airborne allergens are prevalent indoors. These include:
fungi
mould
pet dander
dust mites
Many people confuse hay fever with asthma. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder that causes bronchial swelling and constriction. It may be triggered by hay fever if a person has both conditions.
But hay fever and asthma are very different. A number of other factors can trigger an asthma attack, including:
a respiratory infection
certain drugs
other types of allergens, such as dust mites or diesel fumes
cold air
certain emotions and stress

Natural Remedies for Fibroids & Cyst
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors of the uterus. Uterine fibroids are also known as leiomyomata, myomas or uterine polyps. Uterine fibroids grow within the muscles of the uterus, on the outside of the uterus, hang in the uterine cavity or very rarely form within the cervix. They can range in size from microscopic to several inches in diameter. Uterine fibroids form in the childbearing years of a woman’s life. There may be just one fibroid or many, with differing locations. Uterine fibroids are rarely a cause for concern, but when they become too large, or there are many present, they may become a problem.
Types of Uterine Fibroids Submucosal: grow in the innermost layer of the uterus Intramural: grow in the middle layer of the uterus Subserosal: grow in the outer wall of the uterus Pedunculated: attached to a stalk either outside of the uterus or within the uterine cavity Cervical: in the cervical tissue Interligamentous: between the uterine broad ligaments
Causes of Uterine Fibroids Though a large percentage of women suffer from uterine fibroids, doctors are actually unsure of what causes them to occur. What they do know however, is that estrogen and progesterone contribute to the growth of the fibroids. Estrogen and progesterone are at their highest levels during a woman’s childbearing years, this is why uterine fibroids are thought to develop during this time. Normally, after a woman goes through menopause her body produces lower levels of estrogen and progesterone causing the fibroids to begin to shrink and any associated symptoms, such as pain and pressure to subside.
Uterine fibroids are hormone dependent. They develop during the hormonally active years and decline in menopause. Fibroid tissue has a higher amount of estrogen and progesterone receptors. Fibroid tissue is hypersensitive to estrogen, but does not have the capacity to regulate estrogen response, this is why they can grow to become quite large. Other hormones play a role in the growth of uterine fibroids as well, including prolactin, parathyroid hormone, insulin growth factor, and pituitary growth hormone.
Natural Remedies for Fibroids & Cyst
First cleanse, reduce exposure to xenoestrogens, promote healthy estrogen metabolism. You can start cleansing by doing a detox with Empress Organics Yoni Detox Pearls. Fertility Cleansing: The best way to begin any natural fertility plan would be to do a Fertility Cleanse. A fertility cleanse encourages the liver to cleanse the body of toxins and excess hormones. It also supports the uterus to cleanse itself of old stagnant blood and increases circulation to the uterus while tonifying the uterine tissues.
Self Fertility Massage is a series of massage techniques that are used to help support reproductive health, the menstrual cycle, and your fertility all from the comfort of your own home! One of the greatest benefits of massage is the ability to break up adhesions and bring in circulation to the area being massaged. Uterine fibroids may compress and compromise circulation to the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries or other surrounding organs. Self Fertility Massage™ helps to promote healthy circulation, helps the body to rid itself of old stagnant blood and tissues in the uterus, and promotes hormonal balance by strengthening the hormonal feedback loop. Do not do during menstruation.
Reduce Exposure to Xenohormones: Exposure to certain environmental toxins may contribute to the development of uterine fibroids. Xenoestrogens are a subclass of endocrine disruptors. Endocrine disruptors, also known as xenohormones, are human-made chemicals. These chemicals have the ability to interfere with the natural functions and development of our bodies. The main function of the endocrine system is to serve as our body’s message center. Hormones deliver messages, the endocrine system coordinates hormones. Xenoestrogens have the ability to bind to our estrogen receptor sites. This is particularly concerning for women with uterine fibroids. This is because fibroid tissue is hypersensitive to estrogen, it contains a high amount of estrogen receptors, this is why they can grow to become quite large. Exposure to xenoestrogens can fuel uterine fibroid growth.
Ways to Avoid Xenohormones: Eat rorganic foods, Avoid exposure to pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers, Use natural feminine care products, Use organic, natural body care products, including makeup, Avoid food preservatives and dyes, Use low VOC paints, Use recycled unbleached paper products.
Key Herbs for Fibroids and Their Beneficial Actions:
Fenugreek: This is one of the best herbs for fibroids as it helps with hormone balance and to prevent a state of estrogen dominance. Estrogen dominance not only increases the risk of developing uterine fibroids but it also causes fibroids to get bigger and increases the various symptoms of uterine fibroids. Fenugreek is one of the best herbs for fibroids and is the perfect female herb because it contains phyto-estrogens which are similar to the estrogen produced by the body but are much weaker. Phyto-estrogens prevent a state of estrogen dominance as they can replace the excess estrogen produced by the body and because they are weaker than the estrogen produced by the body, they can prevent a state of estrogen dominance. Fenugreek also helps the pelvis eliminate toxins and excess mucus trapped in the pelvis which if left to fester can increase the risk of developing fibroids or worsening the symptoms. Other benefits of fenugreek is that this herbs is said to help increase breast size naturally as well as increase milk production in nursing mothers!
Chasteberry: Chasteberry is also another of the best herbs for fibroids, especially for its ability to shrink fibroids. It has been shown to be able to shrink certain small intramural and subserous fibroids. Vitex is also able to strengthen and heal the entire reproductive system making it an important female herb. Vitex (4,00mg 2 times daily). Vitex or chasteberry reduces estrogen levels by promoting the production of progesterone. It is an excellent herbal solution to maintain hormonal balance, lower estrogen levels and reduce inflammation. Simply take 25 to 30 drops of chasteberry tincture two to four times a day. Note: Chasteberry will help regulate menstruation and bleeding between periods, but may also reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. For best results, vitex should be taken for at least six months.
Milk Thistle: (150 milligrams 2 times daily). Aids body in liver detoxification, which can balance hormones. This herbal remedy helps metabolize and get rid of excess estrogen. Estrogen is a reproductive hormone that stimulates cells to release growth factors, which in turn contributes to fibroid growth. Simply take 10 to 25 drops of a tincture of this herb up to three times a day for three to four months
Evening primrose oil: evening primrose oil for fibroidsThis is another herb that can help promote hormone balance because hormone imbalance can worsen PMS, menstrual cramps, fibroids as well as many other feminine issues. While evening primrose oil injections are very effective, enteric-coated tablets are also effective since they enable evening primrose oil to bypass the digestive system and go directly to the bloodstream where it can be better able to promote hormone balance. Another benefit of evening primrose oil is that it can help to prevent and cure ovarian cysts and cysts in the breasts.
Dong Quai root: Dong Quai increases circulation, which helps to bring in fresh healthy blood to remove excess tissue growth, heal tissue damage, as well as limit scar tissue and adhesion formation. Healthy circulation ensures healthy natural cleansing of the body as well. Proper circulation is required to remove toxins, dead tissue, diseased tissue, and metabolic waste from our bodies. This is very important for women with uterine fibroids, dong quai is a staple of ancient Chinese medicine and is an important female herb as it can relieve painful cramps, menopausal symptoms and PMS. Dong quai is one of the best herbs for fibroids because it mimics the estrogen produced by the body and by doing so it can replace natural estrogen produced by the body with a weaker form which then helps to prevent a state of estrogen dominance that increases the risk of developing fibroid tumors. Do keep in mind that dong quai should not be used by itself. The most effective formulations include dong quai with other herbs including some that are discussed here.
Goldenseal Root: This herb is extremely antibiotic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. It works to help reduce pain and inflammation from foreign tissue growth. Reduction in inflammation may help to prevent scar tissue and adhesion formation.
Echinacea: This very beneficial herb is good for treating various issues including many gynecological problems such as fibroid tumors. This North American wild flower which looks like a daisy is a known immune system booster which helps to improve general health and wellbeing in addition to helping the body eliminate disease causing toxins. Research has also shown that the healing properties of Echinacea can help cure fibroids naturally by shrinking the tumors and helping to rid the body of the dissolving matter from these dying tumors.
Dandelion Root & Leaf: This plant provides excellent liver support for improved hormonal balance. Dandelion leaf is very nourishing to the body, being high in vitamins and minerals. The root aids in liver health, and stimulates digestion for improved estrogen metabolism.
Ginger Root: Ginger root is a wonderful herb used to increase circulation and promote blood flow to the uterus. The increased circulation also helps to reduce inflammation of the uterus, ovaries or fallopian tubes.
Black Cohosh root: This root promotes regulation of the entire menstrual cycle. For women with a uterus that feels inflamed or irritated throughout the month, Black cohosh may be an effective option in relaxing the uterus by helping to reduce inflammation.
Red Raspberry Leaf: Raspberry leaf works to tone the uterine muscles and normalize blood flow during menses. This is one of the best normalizing herbs for the female reproductive organs. Raspberry leaf is astringent, contracting and shrinking internal and external body tissues. It may help prevent hemorrhage due to excessive bleeding and is one of the best herbs for uterine health.
Maitake Mushroom: This mushroom has been shown to enhance immune system function and has been shown through several studies to contain anti-tumor properties. It is also useful for improving glucose metabolism.
Avoid Foods that Makes Fibroids Worse
This includes:
High-Fat, Processed Meats. High-fat, processed meats are some of the worst food choices for women when it comes to fibroids. Foods high in unhealthy fats like non-organic meats are processed meats can increase inflammation levels and often contain chemical additives. (Think hamburgers and processed breakfast sausages.) When you eat beef, you should always opt for grass-fed beef.
Conventional Dairy. Non-organic dairy is very high in steroids and other chemicals that can alter hormones and encourage the development and growth of fibroids.
Refined Sugar. Consuming refined sugar can increase pain and reduce immune function in the body. It may also lead to weight gain and hormonal imbalance, two factors that encourage the development of fibroids. Studies have even shown that a high dietary glycemic index is associated with higher risk of uterine fibroids in some women. (3) Refined Carbohydrates. Managing hormones not only involves the elimination of sugars from the diet, but also refined carbohydrates.
Refined carbs cause insulin levels to spike and hormones to become out of whack. Consuming processed grains like those in instant hot cereals and commercial breads causes a sharp rise in insulin. These refined carbohydrates have been stripped of everything but starch, so they offer negative health consequences and no good nutritional value.
Alcohol. Overdoing it in the alcohol department increases inflammation throughout the body, reduces immune function and encourages hormonal imbalances. By reducing or eliminating alcohol, you can help to get your hormones back on track and hopefully shrink those fibroids fast.
Caffeine. Too much caffeine is taxing on your body, especially your liver. When you give your liver more work to do than it ideally should have, it isn’t going to do as good of a job at keeping your hormones in check. Drinking more than two cups of coffee daily may boost estrogen levels in women and could worsen conditions with a hormonal basis like fibroids. (4) The more you can keep your alcohol and caffeine consumption down, the easier it is for your liver to detoxify your body and keep your hormones in proper, fibroid-discouraging balance.
Without eating a whole food diet, the body will not respond to herbs, supplements or natural therapies as well. We suggest eating a nutrient dense whole food fertility diet. This way of eating will create a foundation for a healthy, properly functioning body.
The Importance of Fiber Your main focus and one of the first things you should do right now is eat more fiber. Fiber helps the body to get rid of excess estrogens. Good sources of fiber: Dark leafy greens, Broccoli, Swiss chard, Quinoa, Chia seeds, Beans, Ground flaxseed and Whole Grains. Choose whole grains whenever possible, avoid white refined grains. Good choices of whole grains would be brown rice, millet, spelt, buckwheat, rye and oats.
Eat Foods that Heal Fibroids
The following foods should be included in your diet to keep your fibroids at bay:
Organic Foods. Eating organic foods can help to prevent and shrink fibroids. Pesticides impact estrogen and other hormones levels. Since hormonal balance is key to natural fibroid treatment, you want to reduce your pesticide intake as much as possible.
Green Leafy Vegetables. Green leafy vegetables discourage the growth of fibroids in a woman’s body. These vegetables are vitamin K-rich foods. This vitamin aids in clotting and helps control control of menstrual bleeding.
Cruciferous Vegetables. Cruciferous vegetables support detoxification of your liver and balance estrogen levels. Research has shown that high consumption of broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, tomato and apple seems to be a protective factor for uterine fibroids. A greater intake of cruciferous vegetables (and fresh fruits) is believed to be capable of reducing the incidence of uterine fibroids in women.
Beta-carotene Rich Foods. Upon digestion the human body turns beta carotene into vitamin A, which promotes the growth of healthy tissues as well as the repair of tissues, which can both be very helpful for healing fibroids. Some foods high in beta-carotene include carrots, sweet potatoes, kale and spinach.
High-Iron Foods. Fibroids sometimes cause some women to lose more blood during their monthly menstruation. This can lead to anemia. To replace the excessive loss of iron, include high-iron foods like grass-fed beef and legumes in your diet to help replace that lost iron and prevent anemia.
Flaxseeds. Flaxseeds help balance estrogen levels in the body, which can help to shrink fibroids. You should aim for at least two tablespoons per day if you have fibroids. You can sprinkle flaxseeds on oatmeal, in your smoothies or simply eat the seeds by themselves. Whole Grains. Instead of refined grains, opt for healthier whole grains like millet, spelt, brown rice, buckwheat, rye and oats.
Try Supplements that Aid in Fibroid Reduction
Be sure to check with your doctor before introducing new supplements into the mix. These supplements have a strong reputation for creating better hormone balance: Fish Oil (1,000 milligrams daily) or Flaxseed Oil (1 tablespoon daily). The essential fatty acids found in fish oil and flaxseed oil can help reduce inflammation in your body, which may play a part in fibroid growth. B-complex (50 milligrams daily). If B vitamins are lacking in the diet, the liver is missing some of the raw materials it needs to carry out its metabolic processes and regulate estrogen levels. Progesterone Cream (1/4 teaspoon, days 6–26 of cycle). Applying progesterone cream topically can help balance out low progesterone. When treating fibroids, it’s important to work with a doctor who has tested your hormone levels so you can be best advised if natural progesterone cream is the right option for your body.
Turn to Essential Oils
Thyme, clary sage and frankincense are the best essential oils for natural fibroid treatment. They all have the ability to help balance hormones naturally. Clary sage oil has also been shown by researchers to significantly lower cortisol levels as well as have an anti-depressant effect on mood. This is just one of several studies that show clary sage oil’s ability to benefit a woman’s hormones. Rub two drops of these essential oils over your lower abdomen two times daily; put two drops of frankincense oil on the roof of your mouth two times daily.
Castor Oil Packs
By applying a castor oil pack to your abdomen, you increase circulation in the lymphatic and circulatory systems and also increase lymphocytes — white blood cells that eliminate disease-causing toxins from the body. Many holistic practitioners believe a buildup of toxins plays an important role in fibroid development. Castor oil also contains anti-inflammatory ricinoleic acid. While there hasn’t been any scientific research to date that directly studies the impact of castor oil packs on uterine fibroids, it makes sense why castor oil packs could be helpful. A 2011 study did show that castor oil packs can help detoxification for by decreasing symptoms of constipation.
Saturate a piece of wool flannel in castor oil. Place it on your abdomen and cover it with a plastic wrap. Place a heating pad or hot water bottle on it and cover that with an old towel. Leave it on for about one hour, and then remove it. Repeat three or four times a week for at least one month, or until you see improvement. Note: Do not use this remedy during menstruation or if you are trying to conceive.
Avoid Exposure to Environmental Toxins
Stay clear of the following to improve your hormonal health as well as your general health: pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, bleach, food preservatives, harmful cleaners (even certain eco-cleaners) and food dyes. You’ll also want to opt for natural, unbleached feminine care products as well as organic body care products and makeup.
Exercise
Getting regular exercise can actually help to prevent fibroids before they start! According to one study, the more a woman exercises, the less likely she is to get uterine fibroids.
Dandelion
Many herbalists believe that poor liver function leading to poor elimination of excess hormones contributes to fibroids. Dandelion aids in liver detoxification and clearing excess estrogen from your body. Herbal teas help soothe the symptoms of fibroids by decreasing inflammation and rebalancing certain hormones. Teas made with chasteberry, milk thistle, yellow dock, dandelion root, nettle and red raspberry all have systemic benefits for the uterus and reproductive system.
Boil three tablespoons of dandelion root in three and one-half cups of water. Let it simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat, and allow it to steep for another 15 minutes before straining it. Drink this tea three times a day for at least three months.
Green Tea: Studies indicate that green tea contains a compound called Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) that inhibits growth of fibroid cells, eventually increasing their death rate. EGCG offers anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative and antioxidant effects. Researchers have found that in addition to reducing the size of fibroids, green tea can reduce the severity of fibroid symptoms. Drink two or three cups of green tea or take two 400 mg green tea capsules daily for several months.
Burdock Root Tea: Burdock root improves the liver’s ability to metabolize estrogen, thereby reducing fibroids. Plus, being high in the lignan arctigenin, it can help reduce the size of fibroids and inhibit new tumor growth. Add one teaspoon of dried burdock root to a cup of hot water. Let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes, and then strain it. Drink this tea three times a day. Alternatively, you can take 10 to 25 drops of burdock root tincture three times per day. Continue either of these remedies daily for three to four months.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar can be helpful in reducing fibroid symptoms because it helps remove toxins from the body and promotes fat loss. Though not proven scientifically, it is believed to help shrink fibroid tumors too. Add one teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar to a glass of water. You can also add one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses or some natural sweetener for taste. Drink it daily on a regular basis. Gradually increase the dosage of apple cider vinegar from one teaspoon to one or two tablespoons per glass.
Garlic
Garlic has natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that discourage the growth of tumors and uterine fibroids. So, eat three to five garlic cloves daily. If the garlic taste and odor are too strong for you, then follow it with a glass of milk. Milk will also help reduce the incidence of fibroids. Garlic is one of the best natural cures for fibroids because it helps stop fibroid growth by preventing fibroids from having access to a robust blood supply and nutrients. These tumors will then shrink the longer that they are without what they need to grow.
Indian Gooseberry (Amla)
Being an antioxidant and immunomodulator, Indian gooseberry is an excellent Ayurvedic remedy to reduce fibroids and their symptoms. Mix together one teaspoon each of Indian gooseberry powder and honey. Consume it daily, first thing in the morning. Continue for at least a few months to get positive results. In addition to these remedies, make sure to exercise regularly and drink plenty of water throughout the day to flush out toxins. Exercising also helps regulate ovulation.
Fibroids Risk Factors & Root Causes
The following factors can raise a woman’s risk for fibroids:
Heredity: A woman with a mother or sister who had/has fibroids is more likely to develop fibroids herself. Age: Fibroids tend to appear when a woman is in her 30s and 40s. Race: African American women are two to three times more likely to develop fibroids than women of other races or ethnicities. Black women tend have fibroids at younger ages, and have more fibroids and larger ones. Diet: Eating a lot of poor quality beef and any type of pork is linked to higher fibroid risk. Obesity: Women who are overweight or obese are more likely to develop fibroids compared to women who maintain a healthy weight. High Blood Pressure: High blood pressure or hypertension seems to increase a woman’s risk of fibroids. Hypothyroidism: Overt hypothyroidism has been associated with the presence of uterine leiomyoma (fibroids). Early menstruation: Women who being menstruation prior to the age of 10 are at a higher risk for fibroids than women who started menstruating after the age of 10. Birth control: Taking birth control pills can make fibroids grow more quickly because of the increased estrogen level in the body. Foods that are high in estrogen, and hormone-disrupting chemicals that mimic estrogen may also play a role in the development of fibroids. Doctors aren’t exactly sure what causes fibroids, but research and clinical experience point to a few factors likely contributing to the development of uterine fibroids. (5) Since fibroids run in families, fibroids appear to be genetic. For example, identical twins are more likely to both have fibroids than nonidentical twins. Many fibroids also contain changes in genes that are different from the genes in normal uterine muscle cells.
Hormones are another root cause. Estrogen and progesterone hormones are responsible for stimulating the growth of the uterine lining each month in preparation for a possible pregnancy. Estrogen and progesterone also appear to promote the growth of fibroids, which contain more estrogen and progesterone receptors than normal uterine muscle cells. Another reason this hormone theory makes sense is the fact that fibroids tend to shrink after a woman goes through menopause. Menopause coincides with a decline in a woman’s hormone levels.

Even though plant-based remedies are quite effective in treating skin rashes and allergies, it is highly recommended to consult an expert dermatologist or a nearby skin specialist before using.

Have a headache? The top 7 triggers
“Headaches aren’t welcome here” — that’s the sign you have hanging on your brain’s front door, but the pain is barging right in. You can chalk it up to stress from world events or something you ate or drank, and you might be right. But there are a number of common triggers for migraines, tension headaches, or cluster headaches. The faster you identify them, the quicker you can boot headache pain off the property.
What are the triggers for your headaches?
Take note of your circumstances when a headache starts. Keep a diary to track the day, time, symptoms, and circumstances surrounding the pain (what had you eaten? where did it happen?). Common causes of headaches include the following seven triggers.
Stress. Stress can cause tight muscles in the shoulders and neck. This often leads to a tension headache, which starts in the neck and back and works its way up to feel like a tight band around your head. “It’s believed to start in the muscles,” says Dr. Sait Ashina, a neurologist who specializes in headache treatment at Harvard-affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. “When tension headaches become frequent, the pain in shoulder and neck muscles is felt by the brain as pain in the head.” Stress is also a common trigger for a migraine headache, which begins on one side of the head, throbs or pounds, makes you sensitive to light and sound, and can last for hours or days.
Diet. Eating certain foods often triggers a migraine headache. Migraines may be started by just one type of food — like beans or nuts — or many foods, such as avocados, bananas, cheese, chocolate, citrus, herring, dairy products, and onions. “Processed foods with nitrites, nitrates, yellow food dyes, or monosodium glutamate can be especially problematic,” Dr. Ashina notes.
Alcohol intake. Alcohol is a common cause of a migraine headache or a cluster headache — a stabbing pain in the eye that may last hours, go away, and come back several times per day. For some people, a few ounces of red wine are all it takes to provoke a headache, although any kind of alcohol can be a trigger. It’s not clear if the alcohol itself is to blame, or if another component in the drink causes the problem.
Environment. “Cluster headaches seem to be seasonal and often happen in the spring or fall,” Dr. Ashina says. “It’s something in the environment, but we can’t tell exactly what it is yet.” Environmental factors such as bright light, smoke, humidity, intense scents, or cold weather are associated with migraine headaches.
Hormones. Changes in estrogen levels are associated with migraines in women, and women suffer from migraines more often than men. Menstrual cycles may be tied to migraine in younger women. Varying estrogen levels during perimenopause can sometimes start migraines in women who never experienced them before. Estrogen therapy may also be a migraine trigger. Menopause does seem to end migraines in most women.
Caffeine withdrawal. If you normally consume caffeine in coffee or tea, stopping intake abruptly may trigger a migraine. This may be because caffeine causes blood vessels to constrict; without caffeine, the blood vessels widen and bulge out with each heartbeat — a chief reason for the pounding pain of migraines.
Lack of sleep. A lack of sleep is associated with migraines and tension headaches. “We don’t know why, but we do know there’s a correlation and that sleep can lead to pain relief. Sometimes people feel better after taking a nap,” Dr. Ashina says.
Next steps to avoid headaches or ease headache pain
If you can associate your headache pain with particular triggers, you can try to avoid them. If that doesn’t help, talk to your doctor. There are many prescription medications, as well as pill-free treatments (acupuncture, meditation, biofeedback, relaxation therapy) that can help reduce headache frequency.
And you’ll need to go a step further: “Make sure you get enough sleep, exercise, eat a healthy diet, limit alcohol intake, and reduce stress,” Dr. Ashina says. “Headaches are a condition of hypersensitivity, so you need balance in your system to fight triggers.”
Finding that balance may be difficult right now, with the world in turmoil. But maintaining good health, and keeping a clear head that’s free of pain, will certainly give your more focus, and maybe even more strength to get through this challenging time.
