I just saw Carlos' girlfriend when they kissed and she is stunning!! Do they stay private like Oscar and Lily? I've never seen them together. I laughed so hard at Lando's dad being nosy watching them 😂

she is !!! her modeling reels are so impressive she's like 90s model level of chic. and you could actually hear her screaming on the broadcast bc she was one of the few high voices in that masculine Ferrari team asfgsalgfslajgfa

and the renaissance painting quality of these photos where he reaches for her is !!!

NO SAME I laughed so hard at Zak discreetly looking away to give them a moment but Adam is full on pulling a Lando and O.O the whole time sfashlfhaslfhal

and she gets so much hate and abuse from ppl who either want to be with him or want him to be with Lando you would not believe. and like, it's one thing to choose not to rb wives and girlfriends at all but it's rly obvious who is doing it for that reason and who just wants to police these men's choices in partners.

so as of this season they definitely made the decision to be fully public and allow fans to take photos with her in them when they want to which is <3 (it's also sadly why the hate has ramped up)

but they started out extremely private and all we saw were grainy sneaky fan photos. ppl managed to find out who she was and I think the paps managed to get her a couple of times even though she tended to walk a bit apart from him to avoid it. then Pierre accidentally hard launched her in one of his pictures of a group hanging out with Carlos and then he deleted it minutes later. it's so funny too bc she had deliberately scooted further down the table against the wall and wasn't looking at the camera so he must've just forgotten to crop it aslfgjslaf. I can't always watch the broadcasts so I can't remember how early she started going to races but I remember seeing pics of her and Charles' gf Alex around the paddock by about mid-season? they were definitely still hiding her a fair amount around Mexico and Brazil bc she was on the flight Lando and Carlos took bc ppl spotted her cardigan on one of the seats (if I ever go missing btw give the case to gossip sites they'd find me in 3 hours flat asgkfgalfgla). and ofc she and Carlos posted parallel carousels of their little private holiday in Bermuda (I think?) so they didn't rly mind ppl putting 2 and 2 together by then. she didn't do the walk to the garage with him until around Vegas I think? and since then she's gone to every race when she isn't working. she was invited to Dakar and Spanish media filmed her walking w his family. Carlos' mom and sister attended her runway show in Madrid, Rebecca went to lunch with I wanna say three generations of Sainz men a couple months ago and there's been sm commenting back and forth going on. so it's been very gradually but steadily been getting more public and now I think they're relaxed into it.

my favorite part tho is that Carlos has been leaving emojis on her photos for a while but she doesn't comment on his content so I feel like she's more pushing for not posting each other atp bc the comments are likely to be a cesspool. she's already restricted and monitored comments on her own content.

this is totally my pointless take but I feel like the fact that she works and travels so steadily as a model and keeps her own family off her social media is rly ideal for a Virgo micromanager like Carlos? he very much likes to manage what he shares and when.

Jill Valentine: I firmly believe they could've had a fun friendship (that would've started with them hating each other). While Jill isn't as hot-tempered as Rain, she also isn't afraid to get confrontational. That, combined with their shared stubbornness, would cause them both to butt heads. In the end, I think sharing a common goal (and their strong desire to help others) would bring them together.

Claire Redfield: Again, I think there's good friendship potential there. Like J.D., Claire would be somebody Rain could loosen up around in a way she never quite could around others. Rain would have that effect on Claire as well. Their arguments would be far less frequent and intense than those between Jill and Rain, too.

Chase McAvoy: They would talk guns. Simple as that. Oh, and they'd drink together.

Angel Ortiz: Well. I think they'd already know each other. I like to imagine that when Rain worked as a cop in Los Angeles, so did he. Angel was one one the few people in the department she liked. He actually respected/recognized her abilities and vice versa.

Carlos Oliveira: Carlos and Rain would already be friends who met through Umbrella, which would make having them meet in Apocalypse or Extinction fun :) I like that they're both strong, capable soldiers who're willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, but Carlos is friendly while Rain is... not.

Luther West: A big reason for this one is, admittedly, quite stupid. I headcanon that Rain's brother loved basketball and was a fan of Luther, so she would've recognized him. My Luther tag is literally {My brother was a fan of you} Luther West lol. I also think that similarly to Carlos, Luther's good-natured personality would be a good foil to Rain's aggressiveness.

Terri Morales: Won't lie, I have a big soft spot for Terri. She and Rain would absolutely not get along, though. Terri's persistent questioning and filming would annoy Rain. But I think that'd be funny.

The whole email breakup thing always sounded ridiculous to me but since it allegedly came from a friend of Pat's, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. But yeah no that's insane, no normal person would end a 6.5 rs/engagement over email. Imo she'd planned months before for the music video to be filmed in the UK so as to be able to spend Easter break with Joe, bc both of them knew that Joe would be working until May and according to what Tree put out at the time, he'd be joining Taylor on tour after that. So I do think the MV was shot in the UK as part of an original plan to spend Easter together there. But imo from the moment she stood on that stage in Glendale on opening night and saw tens of thousands of ppl all but worshipping her, and Joe could not even be arsed to at least care about this massive career milestone, she came to the painful realization that it was time to go, and she planned to do it in person when they would see each other in the UK for Easter. So during those first weeks of tour I imagine that (aside from being extremely happy and excited for tour) she pondered how to go about it and the logistics etc yk, mentally preparing herself for it, probably going back and forth on doing it or not. Clearly she ultimately decided it had to happen this time for real, they'd been unhappy for months and I do think Joe taking another last minute job and not giving a single fuck about Eras was a final straw. So she knew it was Over over during those first weeks of tour and imo that's why she was crying during CP in Glendale N2. Anon mentioned that maybe she was apprehensive about doing it in person bc they could end up fucking and she needed to end it for real, but I don't think that was even an issue for her bc imo late stage Swiftwyn sex was like those scenes in Blue Valentine where the couple clearly has fallen out of love but they still try to have sex to get off and let out frustration but neither of them are really into it and lowkey hate it and yeah idk it's devastating to watch lol it's so fucking sad. At that point imo Swiftwyn were very unhappy and in a "you do you and I'll do me" MO so it tracks that Joe didn't see it coming right, cos they'd sorta gotten familiar/used to the unhappinness. Imo if she hadn't broken it off and instead insisted on getting married, he would've done it and they would've continued to leave unhappily and/or gotten divorced eventually, so Joe must've defs been relieved that she ended it. If they'd had kids before shit started to go down at the end of 2021, I do think they would've married for the bebé and would've probs gotten divorced once the bebé/bebés became adults a la Scott and Andrea.

I 1000% agree that she was involved emotionally with Matty since at least January of this year. Idk if I think it got to the point of actual physical cheating yk I tend to think that maybe not since her and Joe respected each other so much but she does historically cheat when she's desperate to get out of a rs so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ she was miserable and Matty was there all head over heels for her and ofc the attention was appealing after she'd felt so rejected/unnapreciated by her partner for months. I am SO so curious about that 1975 collab song that was scrapped from Midnights 👀👀 I wonder if it's telling of how far back (second half of 2022 maybe) the affair with Matty goes, and if she left it out of the album bc she was still trying to save her rs with Joe. I really do think that, in spite of everything, Taylor fought VERY hard to fix their issues and solve their problems, like I really do think she gave it her all trying to save it but ultimately it became clear that it was unsalvageable. When they first became a couple they both thought their lives would be going in completely different directions (she thought her peak as a pop star was gone and she would move to more BTS stuff and live a calmer life in North London with him, he thought his acting career would take off after The Favourite and CWF and he'd become some Nic Hoult/Paul Mescal etc.) than where they both are today, and so they became very incompatible to the point where all the love they had for each other wasn't enough to keep them in love together.

i keep looking at my own fic ideas from like a couple years ago that i have outlines for and going "wow, i really don't want to write these!" so here's a comprehensive list of fanfics i still have on my desktop which i have started but made litle progress on:

masterpiece theatre - an akira/mob psycho 100 crossover. the premise of this one was that tetsuo managed to create an alternate universe at the end of the film/manga, which was the mp100 universe. he's just kind of there trying to live a normal life while navigating the trauma from his past life. naturally this does not work out well and he winds up both meeting people from the akira 'verse and people from the mp100 'verse. i think i had in mind that it would end roughly around the first season of mp100. anyway this was roughly inspired by my musings about mp100 reminding me of a sort of inverse of akira's storyline that i can no longer articulate because it has been years since i read mp100 all the way through.

cause - this was just going to be a complete rewrite of rebel without a cause where i fixed what i saw as a pacing issue with the film and also gave more context to the characters' lives because i have a love/hate relationship with the original

it's not my party, but i'll still cry if i want to - a really short fic that was taking characters from rebel without a cause and plopping them into a modern 'verse just for the sake of having jim infodump about the 50s while sulking because he thinks judy & plato are doing something together and generally having rsd

where worlds collide and days are dark - all i got is that it's for mgs and i still have a hold of this document despite it just being snippets of fic i wrote like years ago.

statement of daniil dankovsky // statement of artemy burakh - magnus archives crossovers for pathologic, the first one being daniil's statement about the world being alive (based on pathologic classic) and the second one being artemy's statement about seeing daniil die, only to be "replaced" by another actor the following day while everyone else acts like nothing ever happened.

when you finally get involved, face to face - danganronpa ishimondo fic that was a project to see if i could focus long enough to write 100k. instead of getting together as teenagers, the fic would take place over the span of 10 years, where they'd get together as adults. i was really excited about this one when i started it, but people started being transmisogynist in the comments so i stopped working on it and got into pathologic instead.

a document titled 'cool ishimaru has a chill day with boyfriend' which i think was about ishimaru discovering he's trans, that was meant to be a non-despair au and with everyone being generally supportive of him.

flaws - danganronpa fic where taka talks to makoto about feeling possessive and how horrible it feels but i never actually finished or published it. it's pretty much done now... i could go back and edit it down to where i'm satisfied with it but i don't know :/

i wanna ruin our friendship (we should be lovers instead) - some kind of au where either it's non-despair or everyone lives... it was going to have hina and taka bonding over having crushes on their best friends who are oblivious. it was gonna be from hina's pov bc i love her

in the middle - okay this one i swear i will write one day... whenever i replay trigger happy havoc... it was going to be a polyamory fic where mondo is dating chihiro, who used to date taka and desperately wants mondo and taka to be friends. they'd be in college here. chihiro is transfem and taka is transmasc and mondo realizes he's nonbinary i think was a plot point. anyway,

an untitled danganronpa fic wherein hope's peak decides the classes need mentors and taka picks juzo, w ho came out of the closet for the express purposes of getting out of having to mentor anybody. but taka thinks it was very brave of him and wants advice on coming out despite being a public figure.

letters - this was just going to be eight, thirty-one from taka's pov

jojo's despaire adventure - jojo characters put in a danganronpa situation. pretty sure polnareff was going to be the protag of this one. it was going to be a simulation dio was running to try and rewrite the universe, hence why so many characters from so many parts were there and also had no memory of each other. i think kakyoin was going to be the first casualty.

all of my started but unfinished assorted jjba works you can still find on ao3: next chapter of cherry wine was going to have a karaoke section because fox gave me the funniest image of hol horse singing a shitty maroon 5 song. i have no idea where i was headed with heads on a science apart. not sure what the next chapter of heart of glass was going to be and i don't feel like pulling up the outline but i can tell you how it ended if anyone is curious about that. she told me to come but i was already there - there was going to be a battle of the bands kind of thing wherein we were going to get hol horse singing 'ride a horse, save a cowboy'. that was the highlight of the chapter and i don't remember what else i had planned for it. starfish crusaders was going to have a mechanic where some of the joestars were part merpeople and could transform at will. warmth, though, i have no idea where i was going with that.

alexithymia - a patho fic exploring the turmoil of not knowing, understanding, or articulating your own feelings. with daniil, of course.

something just titled 'angst outline' that is for a long form pathologic angst fic i was never going to write because i was convinced nobody was going to read it. it was going to be burda but with even more problems and issues and angst for the sake of angst.

a fic about artemy's insomnia

some unspcified fics about daniil being autistic

bio murky - okay this is really obvious but the reason to read the fic was that it was transmasc artemy. essentially artemy and daniil met and hooked up and maybe started falling in love in the capital and then artemy left for home unexpectedly... because he was pregnant. i think this was going to be an everyone lives kind of au or potentially even a no-sand pest au.

a blurb about andrey and his bipolar disorder

e pluribus unem - if i ever actually write this one i'll have to find a title that won't invoke such a knee-jerk reaction but anyway this was a fic about daniil going about wooing artemy by making amends/friends with those of artemy's bound. it was going to be told in little shorts of daniil meeting with the kids. originally i wrote this from daniil's pov but i think if i write this one i'll do it from the kids' povs.

a blurb about daniil having a breakdown after the end of classic

let's climb the cliff edge and jump again - this was gonna be a fic about daniil and andrey's tentative friendship in university where andrey is a horrible influence, a horrible friend, and a horrible brother. it was loosely inspired by my toxic girl friendships i had in college [a/n: i was a girl in college] and the first time i got high. i wanted it to be My Dandrey Fic but without happy dandrey at the end... hints of griefdrey instead... and again thinking about andrey's bipolar disorder because i'm always thinking about it!

a mark/rubin fic that was gonna be nsfw.

mystical inclinations - a soulmate au with tattoos i think? polyamory and platonic soul mates were going to be a thing in this au but i kind of don't remember what i was doing with it.

a fic i started where rubin is mortified to be caught in between artemy and daniil's...whatever

a fic about artemy & daniil's first kiss

talk too much - daniil, who is usually a smoother talker, has a habit of sticking his foot in his mouth whenever artemy is around

vince malum bono - clara talking to each of her bound on the last few days of the plague, patho-2 version

when my time comes around, lay me gently in the cold, dark earth - this was going to be mashing up daniil and artemy's routes (and at the end, clara's as well). with burda. of course.

when the day met the night - burda fic where daniil is about to get taken out by the government because he's a criminal against common sense and good morals, and artemy panics and tells the emmisaries who show up that they can't take daniil because they are to be married, and they can't take the menkhu's husband. and of course the emmissaries aren't stupid so they say they'll be back for the wedding. very romcom.

here are some more thoughts on that "fiction affects reality" bs. putting it under a read more bc its going to be mostly rambles and not well phrased. also just kinda want to get my thoughts out on it so this is purely for me.

i feel like there are three-ish four main things that people, even far more educated people, keep bringing up as evidence that "fiction affects reality". the first one is the whole "cats aren't suppose to drink milk but old cartoons made people think thats okay!". and like c'mon this one is soooo weak. humans and cats have existed together for a very long time. though our understanding of their bodies and what is good or bad for them is fairly new knowledge. and for a long time we believed that cats (and other animals) should be good at self regulation and that they would intrinsically know what is poison to them. obviously we know that isn't always true nowadays, but farmers in the earlier half of the 1900s certainly didn't! i mean you accidentally spill some milk and your farm cat runs to go lap it up and purrs at the same time, of course you are going to think cats like and are okay with having milk. especially when you won't see the effects of the consumption until years later (and even then it would have to be a lot of milk to actually do damage to your cats lifespan), and thats if the cat lives that long and doesn't get killed by a coyote or run over by car or something. and so guess what, when animators started animating cats they'd occasionally animate them drinking some milk because that was very normal and real life cats reinforced this idea. animators didn't just come up with it because they thought it would be cute. and anyone who does still give their cats milk does so out of ignorance (as in they just don't know better) and not because they saw tom from tom and jerry drinking milk. the "jaws affect" is another one i see brought up. but like, before jaws the movie came out there was a book, and that book is based off the real first shark attack to ever happen. after the very real attack people were understandably scared of the beach and sharks, because again they didn't know much about sharks, they didn't understand them or how they worked. they were simply big ass fish with teeth that are so incredibly strong and better at swimming then us. by the time the movie came out, we had some better understanding of sharks but a lot of it was still pretty fresh and people were already still scared of sharks because, again, the very real attack that happened in REAL LIFE. the jaws movie did not create a fear of sharks. did it elevate the fear because it was a big hit, sure. but it didn't create the fear, it didn't create the mass hunting of sharks, it exists as a scary movie to SCARE PEOPLE. its a horror movie! thats what its suppose to do! i mean when i came out of the movie nope it was mid day and the sky was pretty clear except for one cloud and i felt anxious about that! even though i knew it was a fictional movie, it was so good that it unnerved me for a bit. jaws is a really fucking good movie, its scary, its well made, the shark looks super real. but the film wasn't made to make you hate sharks and think they should all die, its about a fictional shark that has a taste for human blood. its ridiculous. the mass hysteria about sharks was already at the tipping point, but it was real people who let their feelings get the best of them after viewing a movie. now its time to talk about "birth of a nation", "hays code", and other propaganda. though honestly this one probably won't be that long. to simply put it, propaganda is not at all the same as fictional media. all fiction, even really shitty fictional stories and art, is suppose to at a base level make you think. propaganda at any level is made to put thoughts in your head. propaganda works because it targets people who were already susceptible to its messages. racism and the kkk didn't pop into existence because of their stupid ass propaganda film. homophobia wasn't created out of the hays code. these things were born out of actions and laws that were already in place. they were made to reinforce real life hatred that was already going on for decades.

i just think if you ever find yourself thinking a piece of art, or a book, or a film, or a cartoon is going to bring about massive damage to the population because of its contents think about what that content is and what in real life might have inspired the creator. think about its reach, think about what context its being shown in. and finally remember this quote from vonnegut about the vietnam war: "...every respectable artist in this country was against the war. It was like a laser beam. We were all aimed in the same direction. The power of this weapon turns out to be that of a custard pie dropped from a stepladder six feet high."
