Constantine

Constantine's heart races as you both look at the single bed. But his heart has been racing since the innkeeper told you there was only one. He's longed to be close to you, to feel your warmth next to his.

He only wishes he could read your mind right now. Constantine turns his head slightly so he can glance over at you. You turn to look into his eyes.

He rubs the back of his neck and gives you a sheepish smile. "Are you sure it's alright to share?" Please say yes.

You nod your head and he lets out a relieved breath.

You both get settled into the room and then make your way to the bed. He pauses, watching as you get in and start to get comfortable. Then he climbs in next to you. He tucks his arms under his pillow as he lays on his side, facing you. Because he wants to reach out so badly and pull you close.

He squints his eyes in the dim light and sees that you're shivering a little. After taking a deep breath to try and calm his nerves, he quietly asks, "Hey, are you cold?"

You open your eyes to look at him. "Yeah," you whisper back.

He moves closer to you but is careful not to touch you. How would you feel in my arms? "Is that better?"

"Yes…but could you come closer?"

His heart pounds in his ears. Although the candlelight is dim, you can both see there is no space left between you. If he moves closer, you'll be touching.

"Please," you plead. He can't draw his gaze away from yours as he moves closer. A small smile finds its way to your lips. You reach a hand out and gently grab his arm, tugging it to wrap around you.

Constantine clears his throat. "Better?"

"Better," you say as your eyes start to close.

Felix

Felix frowns as he looks at the single bed. Because now he’s confronted with his feelings. These sour little moments of meaning that he’s been running from. He can barely admit the way he feels. The way when he looks at you, he can almost believe that this world is not worthless. That when you smile at him, he starts to think he can take on every challenge. And how when your fingers brush his, he has to rely on every shred of willpower to not tell you that he would do any thing you ask of him.

Meanwhile, while his heart and mind wage a civil war, you’re already in bed. You tilt your head at him. “Are you coming to bed?”

He tenses. Have you gone mad, love? How am I meant to share a bed with you without whispering my love aloud? “No, I think I’ll go have a drink. Goodnight.”

But your voice stops him from turning the handle. “Won’t you stay?”

Felix swallows. He doesn’t like how this love thing feels.

But he knows that’s not true. He would choose to love you a thousand times over. “Are you sure that’s what you want?”

“Yes, I want you,” you say quietly. He turns around, eyes landing on you. “To stay,” you quickly add, unable to meet his eyes.

Felix can’t help but chuckle, even if he wishes you’d only meant the first part. “Of course. I knew what you meant.” His smile makes your heart race.

He walks over to the bed and climbs in, laying next to you, careful not to touch you. You look into his eyes. “I don’t think you have any clue what I want,” you tell him.

He brushes a thumb across your cheek. “Let’s stop talking before we make a mess of things,” he whispers.

Margaret

Margaret loathes the way her heart cannot slow as she stares at the lone bed.

But she knows that she only feels this way because she doesn’t know how you feel.

Do you long for her touch, too? Or will this night be misery for you.

But you don’t allow her thoughts to stray anymore because you glance at her with your gentle eyes and soft smile. The looks that makes her knees weaken and her own lips curl up. I pray you never stop looking at me like this. May the gods grant my blessing.

She clears her throat, drawing her eyes away from you. “I’m not tired, so you can have the bed to yourself.”

“Margaret,” you say, exasperation in your voice.

“Yes, darling?”

“Stop being silly. We’ll share.”

And there it is again - the sound of her rapid heartbeat overtaking the space in her mind. She lets out a shaky breath before turning to look at you fully. “I wasn’t aware royalty shared.”

You walk over to the bed before responding. As you pull back the cover, you utter words that cause her to freeze: “Well, only for those we care for.”

You’re teasing. She knows that. But why won’t you look at her? She walks closer, stopping next to you, and grabs the edge of the blanket, tracing the thread with her fingers. “You care for me?” Her voice is quiet and she wants to hide under the blanket. Why did I ask that?

She shakes her head in annoyance as her face heats up. You slide your fingers along the blanket until they brush hers. Her head snaps over to your direction. “Of course,” you whisper as you meet her eyes. “Now, let’s get some sleep.”

Margaret knows she won’t be getting any sleep tonight. But she crawls in next to you anyway.

F opens the door, but you place a firm hand on their arm. “Where are you going?” you ask.

“To ask for another room. I don’t want to bother you.” They avoid your eyes. I want nothing more than to be by your side. Now. And forevermore.

“There are no other rooms,” you tell them, using your free hand to close the door. “Besides, it would bother me more if you left.”

They give you a confused look. “Why?”

You pull your hand away and walk over to the bed, unable to look at them when your stomach is full of butterflies. “Because I would miss you.”

They walk to the other side of the bed and sit on the edge, looking out at the night sky. “Don’t say that,” they say. Say it again.

“Why not?” you ask as you settle into the bed.

They slowly get in after you, mulling over their response. “Because it will give me hope.”

You move closer, looking into their eyes. “Good,” you reply, a small smile on your lips. They suck in a breath as your fingers find theirs. But they can’t find the words to respond. And they don’t think they need to. Their feelings are clear from the way they’re looking at you.

why does tumblbumbler hide all the posts in the tag if you refresh it after a blocking spree in this tag? and continues to hide them for some time? who am i harming by blocking a ton of "xreadr" or "thischaracterhasxyzgendrrr" blogs??

like genuinly. oh maybe they think i interacted with the tag to inflict selfharm by triggers???

no, i wanted to see something there. Like, you know, fanart?? Or colored panels?? Or gifs??? Instead everything except 1 post for more than twenty posts is "xreadr" or "hcs:sfwANDnsfw"

The creators of these posts are so detached from reality. I doubt they themselves are all 15-17, though, but they keep fantasising abt 16yrolds fictional characters??? Embarassing. Stop.

I remember at some point I was detACHED FROM REALITY SO THAT I DIDN'T SEE \ANY\ BEAUTY IN REAL PEOPLE. ONLY IN STYLISED DRAWINGS OF CHARACTERS. I don't want anyone ro be in a state of mind like that. Terminally online behavior does no good to any parts of you/your perception of things (literally your brain)

can I say sth controversial?

I think a lot of ppl who are pumping out interactive fiction are really doing it at the detriment of their own stories? and only because they want people invested in their characters. they want the asks about "how would the ROs react to *insert mundane thing here*?" and whether or not their story is ever finished is not even relevant. (just make an oc ask blog if that's what you want lmaoo)

like sure, you draw people in because you've created 3-4 hot (sometimes generic) ocs who people want to romance but like is that what you as a writer want to do?

and I'm in no way saying that the interactive fiction medium is bad. and I'm not trying to criticize authors who go in this direction, if that is what works for you then there's nothing wrong with it

but I just feel like, are you writing romance to support a fully realized story or a half baked story to sloppily drape around a couple of cookie cutter romances?

just idk think about it.

i was also working on the same 5 ROs with stereotypical personalities formula and idk felt like it took a lot of freedom from me as a writer and I felt like I wasn't writing for myself anymore + didn't have a lot of narrative freedom because you take a lot of agency from a story protagonist by handing them to an anonymous reader whose desires and expectations are unpredictable

plus writing around a customizable mc is boring. and it is VERY rare that an IF author makes the MC enjoyable to read about. you're sacrificing the ability to write a 3 dimensional main protagonist with interesting flaws and a personality and agency and for what? because you wanna write self insert romance?

I'm sure a LOT of IF out there is great but honestly? I am rarely interested because the focus of ALL dev blogs is on the romance options and what are they like? and what's their favorite color? and what would they do if MC cried in front of them?

don't people care about idk.... the story? the plot?

sorry if I come across as bitter. if this is your cup of tea I am not criticizing you at all. I just feel like the genre is becoming really artificial. and again if you're an author im not criticizing you either. just yknow giving food for thought. there's nothing wrong with a traditional linear story.

Upon coming back to the family home from college, you find the corpse of your mother mutilated almost beyond recognition. Apart from the terrible scene, there is seemingly no evidence found by the police and no suspects are brought up.

The lack of answers is driving you crazy, and so you set out to find out who has killed your mother yourself. This job will be difficult– there will be friends that can help you along the way, but some of them have darkness that runs through them bone deep, and to trust the wrong person can be deadly.Still, if you can find it in yourself to trust them… or to simply look past your own judgement– you might be able to romance them, as well.

There is corruption all around you– make sure you know who to trust. Make sure you can trust yourself.

(INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT UNDER THE CUT!)

Q1: Tell us a bit about your project!

My project is Thrill Seeker, a modern horror/mystery game. You play as a normal, albeit burnt out student that has just come back from college to have a small holiday with their mother, but then finds that she has been brutally murdered. When you call the cops, their investigation is unsatisfactory and they find nothing. At the funeral, you are united with some people who may be able to help you-- but the corruption runs deep, and you don’t know who you can trust. Indeed, right now, even you aren’t trustworthy.

The story explores how you take your fate into your own hands and make all the wrong decisions. The line between black and white fades, and all you can do is stare at the puddle of gray in front of you. You decide your own morals, you decide what becomes right or wrong.

Q2: Why did you settle for interactive fiction? What drew you to this format?

There are a few reasons I gravitated towards interactive fiction. One could be that I’ve always been interested in writing. I’ve been making small video games since I was very young, and so I’ve tried a bunch of different forms of game making. Mostly, I’ve stuck to 2D, but it was getting kind of boring, and I was stumped for ideas. When I found interactive fiction, I was just blown away, and I knew I wanted to change the way I made games.

I think I love it so much because it feels like a new life. Every new character, every choice, it’s like writing your life again. Maybe one could call it escapism, but I feel like it’s more about the thrill of the choice. There’s something about taking control of the narrative that is very exciting, not only as a consumer, but as a creator, too. I love the feeling of both knowing what’s coming next, but knowing that it’s something I designed, a fate I created. It’s better than any other format of game in it’s uniqueness.

Q3: How have your identity and beliefs influenced your work?

I think my identity has rubbed off in every single aspect of my writing. I'm most used to writing fantasy, mostly for the fact that’s what I’ve been raised with. I find themes in my writing that I can see in the stories my mother read to me as a child. I am welcoming to others like I have been taught.

Anything I didn’t have then, I do now. The representation I didn’t see in the stories of my childhood, I now write them myself. I hid my personality when I was younger, but now I represent it, and I put a little of myself into every word I write, every character I create, every scene I draw out. I have the opportunity to do what I want and to show the aspects of myself that I haven’t always gotten the opportunity to, and I think that’s the biggest way my identity has changed my work-- it has given me strength and the bravery to continue what I love.

Q4: What aspects would you like to be more explored or represented in media involving your religion?

When looking at media representation, there is almost none for muslims, and all of the ones that exist are typically stereotypical and demeaning. I also see them always kind of having a bad relationship with their family and parents, something that they try to ‘break away’ from. And it almost feels like they have a blueprint for the ‘regular muslim’-- but there are so many different types of muslims, and they can’t fit under one bubble. I would like more muslims of colour (other than the usual pale brown), more muslims in fields that aren’t science related, and more muslims who are secure in themselves and their relationships. I want to see muslims be treated with respect and kindness, just like anyone else.

Q5: What are you most excited about sharing related to your project?

I'm looking forward to establishing the different ways that the main character interacts with the ROs. I see in many interactive fiction stories the ROs are kind of separate-- they don’t influence the RO a lot. However, I want to write a story where your personality actually changes with your RO. Maybe they make you more deranged. Maybe they make you more calm. It’s really up to the character, and I think it’ll be very interesting to write about the point where control starts to fall into someone else’s hands.

Q6: A tiny bit unrelated, but, what's your favorite religious holiday?

My favorite holiday, by far, is Eid. I look forward to it all year. It’s a time that I get to share with my loved ones, a time that I can really be closer to them. It gives us all a break from hardships and allows us to celebrate! All aspects of Eid are wonderful-- the colors, the clothes, the food… the list goes on. Eid is a time of brightness and giving, like a rainbow christmas! Eid is a day that makes me feel that I can unapologetically be myself, and I wear my culture and personality like a badge of honor. It makes me feel human, the kind of humanity where you realize you are one in a web of extraordinary beings who are just intricately designed as you are, the kind of people that are just as worth celebrating as you are. It reminds me to love.

Q7: Any other thoughts or advice you'd like to give to fellow authors or readers?

To my fellow authors, I would say to find a community that supports you. It doesn’t just have to be writers-- just someone that can help motivate you. I myself like to rely on my family to encourage me to keep going, as well as a few other talented writers that inspire me to keep working on improving. Having someone as an example and having someone to encourage you is priceless, and so you should definitely look for a community that supports you.

To my readers, thank you so, so much for coming along this journey with me. You are a community I can rely on, and your support is what keeps me going. I was in a bit of a rough patch before writing this story, but now that I’ve started I’ve gotten so much encouragement and I’ve been a lot happier. Thank you so much for everything, and I hope you enjoy the development of the game!

It was me fighting my melatonin. I am energized today. Under the cut, as this is kinda long :)

1)Ros favourite song?

We'll use current real world music, for this.

Bishop: I did mention he literally just has my music taste sooo. For HIM, i'd say probably anything by Denzel Curry

Undine: I feel like she would looovvveee Sevdaliza.(I love her music.) Undine mainly listens to classical music tho.

Knight: he just listens to lofi playlists, so I don't think he has a favorite in particular.

Saturn: Anything Lady Gaga, but most likely Monster.

2) Ros favourite pastime?

Bishop: He and Siren will go shopping together.

Undine: Likes organizing and restocking her office

Knight: Drawing!

Saturn: Doing makeup looks

3) Which Ro do you like writing the most?

I love writing all of them! But if I HAD to pick, it would probably be Bishop. There's just so much duality, and he's a big ol dummy, so I just channel my own chaotic energy onto him.

Bishop: receiving words of affirmation, giving acts of service.

10) What inspired you to write this story?

Ah. Honestly, I've made up about 2 different worlds and characters through the years, and run through the story from start to finish.. One where you are an aid to a goddess, who you have to save. And this one, After Hours.

My main inspiration in writing it was just found family. Healthy relationships. I wanted a story that shows how different people can come together. I decided on writing After Hours because it's the one that best fits an Interactive Fiction style. The goddess story would work yes, but it's a story that I've had baking in my mind for soo much longer than AH, so it's something I'm a little more cautious to share.

Superstition Romance Poll Results

On June 23 2020, I opened up a romance poll about the interactive fiction game Superstition by @13leaguestories. I closed it on July 21 2020, so a good month later, and then compiled the results! There are a total of 189 answers. I was really happy to read all of the personal opinions people shared on the survey about the ROs, and am going to share some of them here. The results are under the cut! You'll find the results both in tables and described in text.

The Players' Gender

The first question asked was about the gender of the players. With 118 votes, the majority of people who answered the survey said they are female. 53 people said they are male, and 18 people answered non-binary.

Next I asked about the gender of the main Roe people usually play. A little bit more than half of the voters said they are playing female Roes, 95 votes. 77 people play male Roes, 8 people play non-binary Roes, then there are 6 people playing a trans-female Roe and 3 people playing a trans-male Roe. The gender of the player and their Roe does not have to be the same. There are female players who play non-binary or male Roes, same with male and non-binary players.

The votes for Roe's sexual orientation was relatively balanced. 77 Roes are interested in Men, 57 Roes are interested in both, and 54 Roes are only interested in Women. There was 1 person who voted for None.

The most favourite RO

The most favourite romance so far (mid to end of Season 2) is without a doubt Sydero! 59 of 189 people voted for her as their favourite romance. In second place is Chris with 44 votes. Then comes Zillah with 39 votes, and Rahim with 31 votes. Amari is currently last with 15 votes to her name, which I'd mostly put on us not knowing her for long yet. Her low ranking might also be due to how I asked the questions.

Likely because of the higher number of romance options available to these Roes, the numbers are relatively balanced. Sydero got the most votes here with 16 votes. Chris has 15 votes, Rahim 12 votes, Zillah got 10 votes, and Amari got 4 votes as the most favourite RO in this category.

Second favourite romance for Roes interested in "both"

I only let people who are interested in either men or women choose *one* favourite romance option, and when put against Sydero, Amari so far simply draws the shorter stick. I allowed people who play Roes who are interested in both men and women to pick a second favourite romance option. There, Amari got another 16 votes in total, especially from people who chose Sydero as their most favourite romance. So it's not that she does not have any fans, but so far she is a bit overshadowed by other romance options. Everyone who chose that their Roe is interested in "both" could answer this question. This means there were a total of 57 answers. In this question, 16 people named Amari as their second favourite romance. 10 of these votes are by Sydero fans, another 4 by Chrismancers, and 2 by Rahimancers. No person romancing Zillah as their main named Amari as their second favourite. Zillah got a total of 13 votes here. 5 by Chrismancers, 4 votes by Rahimancers, 3 votes by Sydmancers, and 1 vote by an Amari romancer. Chris got 10 votes. 5 votes by people romancing Zillah as their main, 3 by Rahimancers, and 2 by Syderomancers. No votes by people who chose Amari as their favourite romance. Rahim got 9 votes. 3 of those are by Amarimancers, another 3 by Chrismancers, then 2 by Zillahmancers, and 1 vote by a Sydmancer. Last is Sydero, who got 6 votes as second favourite romance. 3 of these votes come from Zillahmancers, then 2 by Chrismancers, and 1 vote by a Rahimancer. There are 2 people who are only interested in Rahim, and 1 person only interested in Chris.

Rivalmancing or Friendmancing

This question was about whether people romance a character with a high relationship (friendmancing) or a low relationship (rivalmancing). The dynamic of the relationship will change a bit depending on that in the long run. This question only considered the most favourite romance, not the second favourite romance some people could pick. This also does not say anything about whether players have a platonic rivalry or friendship with the other characters. In summary, there is an overwhelming majority of people who friendmance these characters. Out of the 59 people who votes for Sydero as their most favourite romance, 52 people chose friendmancing vs 7 rivalmancers.

I also let people vote for their Roe's current best friend. Out of all, Bradley got the most votes - 70 people voted for him to be their Roe's best friend. With a bit of a gap comes Chris with 46 votes, followed by Amari with 43 votes. Then there's another gap cause Sydero is in fourth place with only 17 votes. After her comes Zillah in second to last place with 10 votes, and Rahim only got 3 votes. Rahim doesn't quite make it easy to warm up to him.

The Forbidden Ones aka The Cursed Romances

Many people have expressed their desire to get to know various characters intimately, and I gave them the opportunity to vote for their biggest desires. This was an optional question, some skipped it. Furthermore, it was possible to select multiple answers in this one and add one additional answer. I won't make a bigger summary out of this and mostly only list the ranking below. But here's the top five: With 53 votes, the most people selected to call the entire question pure blasphemy and to rat me out to Tierra... I can tell you though that a good chunk of these people also selected other options additionally to this one. With 51 votes, the Italian suit wearing fallen angel Azrael is in second place. He only had a short amount of screentime, but his formal attire and mysterious nature must have enchanted a good amount of people. With 44 votes, the beautiful skeleton from the Superstition Season 2 itchio page is in third place! Who can possibly resist its wonderfully coloured bones? Close behind the skeleton is the Prince of Lust, Asmodeus with 42 votes. There is little more to say, he's *Lust* for goodness' sake. But Asmodeus is almost thrown off his place by the curveous Honda Civic with 41 votes. Such a breathtaking lineup!

Submitted Opinions on the Favourite Romances

The last I have for you is a selection of personal opinions people submitted to explain why they chose a certain character as their favourite romance. I am thankful for each of these submissions, I read them all, and I'm sharing them with Tierra as well cause I think they might as well make her day! Some of the submissions were very long, so I cannot share those here (the post is already incredibly long). To every wonderful anon who mentioned the Discord but aren't on there cause they are afraid to clog it: PLEASE don't be shy to join the Discord! We are a friendly bunch and love to hear the thoughts of other people about the characters! Why is Sydero your favourite romance?

Why is Chris your favourite romance?

[[I'm an absolute slut for angst and the whole friends-to-lovers trope and goddamnit, Chris' route has so much of that, it hits me in the feels like a freight train almost every episode. The pining, the misunderstandings, the sacrifice (you know what scene I'm talking about – I chose Bradley because I would DIE for that child, but wow did my heart hURT), it's all so good! Ngl, if I ever experienced even a fraction of this stuff in a real life relationship, my emotional state/health would almost immediately fold like a lawn chair and snap...but in interactive fiction? Sign me tf up for this angstfest, this girl wants to cry herself to sleep tonight!]] [[He’s very comical, he has more history with roe, and even though he’s almost like the weakest link in the game it makes it seem like my roe is a badass. Plus I’m always a sucker for childhood/best friends romance!]] [[Because he feels real. Like any human being.]] [[He was the first character I met, and Im a sucker for the first option in almost every storie where there are romanceable characters. I loved his personality at first (still do), then formed a love-hate relationship with the angst. Ive never regretted him as my route and I adore both the cute moments between him and roe as well as the scenes where he was being a total dick. Hes a well balanced, realistic, and overall amazing character and hes just the one who captured both my and my roes heart.]]

Why is Rahim your favourite romance?

Why is Zillah your favourite romance?

[[Well, first of, he has my exact kinks. Like, that's a perfect match - Hell, he even has the hentai tentacles. Only problem is he looks like someone I'm related to lmao So I kinda headcanon the looks.]] [[Because he is straightforward about romance and doesn't jerk Roe around. If Rahim were less of a jerk, he might be my fave, but he is constantly jerking Roe around, acting like he cares then spitting in her face. He's basically an emotional sadist. Considering what Roe's going through, she has no interest in more pain. Zillah is fun and is showing outright that he wants Roe. It's refreshing. TerraSurf 2017: A Festival Fiction part 1.

Disclaimer: This is not the illustrious Josh writing, but the other half of Pint Notes, Becca. Also, this is inspired by past festivals, and past dreams, and then it all got mixed together. So don’t assume anything is a truth or a certain person. I might mention a real band but that’s just because I’m a fan. Each week will bring about another chapter in our story. It’ll either last until July, or possibly until fall. We’ll see. So here goes. Terrsurf 2017.

Leo was sitting on the couch in the three bedroom apartment when Ro burst through the front door, “Did you see-did you see-did you see?” “Uh… Maybe?” Leo raised an eyebrow at his sometimes overly dramatic roommate. To be honest, she could be as excited about the resident squirrels interacting outside as she could about winning a Nobel Prize. But that’s what made Ro Ro. “I might need some clarification.” “The line-up for Terrasurf is out! I mean, it’s pretty much out, someone leaked it but it looks pretty close to the strong rumors and there are some things that definitely make sense.” “Are you sure it’s not another rip-off wanna-be dream line-up poster?” “No, this has to be it. It was posted by that insider everyone trusts.” Ro plopped down on the couch next to Leo and started fiddling with her phone to bring up the link. “Here, it’s right here.” Leo grabbed her phone and looked it over. “Crap. That is believable. And really good, but how are we going to get tickets? Did you also find a magic money tree on your way home?” “No…” Ro pouted, “but there has to be a way and I’ll find it. Trust me. We are going to Terrasurf this year.” “Whatever you say Ro,” Leo just didn’t have it in him to break her dream.

It took some effort and a bit of help from Ro’s trusty friend Sara, but between the two of them they entered every drawing, retweeted and instagrammed their dream festivals. There was one contest Ro had her heart set on though. It was for a band a bit down the line-up but one of her favorites hailing from San Diego, California playing amazing surf punk but she tried not get her hopes up. In fact, she almost had given up all hope that she could get her merry-men to the festival at all until a beautiful day 3 weeks later…

“Aa-eeee!”

The high-pitched squealing scream pierced Zach’s ears. Squealing yet somehow guttural, he puzzled before realizing the proper first thought was, What the hell? “What the hell, Ro?” He yelled to the hallway behind him where his roommate stood in the entry.

“AAHHHHH! I WON! I WON! I-WON-I-WON-I-WON-I-WON-I-WON!!!!!!” She jumped up and down clutching her phone and spinning in circles. “Aaa-eeee!!!! I Woooooooooon! HA! Win.” And with that she bolted for the couch launching herself up and landing on folded legs as only Ro would do. “Let me guess,” Zach rolled his eyes while pressing pause on his game, “you finally won the meat raffle. Did you get the turkey or the ham?” “Shut up jerk. You are now looking at The Fright’s official beer can opener.” Ro threw her shoulders back and beamed with pride. “They picked MY youtube video from ALL the others.” “Who?” He unpaused the game and Ro hit him with the pillow. “The Frights. Dude, I’ve been telling you to listen to them for a year now. There’s this best part of a song, where there’s this break and a can cracking open sets the whole thing back in motion.” She paused and looked up to the ceiling almost piously. “It’s probably the most important thing I’ve ever had the responsibility to do.”   “That sounds great.” Zach concentrated harder on his game, “You have never told me about The Lights though. So when is this? Is it at that small club downtown?” “The Frights. And screw you, I’m not taking you anymore anyway.” Ro got up and pouted her way down the hallway to the kitchen as the front door opened again. Leo tossed his keys to the side and shuffled his shoes off as Ro came bounding down the hallway. POP! POP! POP! “Holy shit!” Her roommates cowered and swore as confetti rained down around them. “WHAT THE HELL RO?” Leo snapped. “I’M THE BEER CAN OPENER!!!!!!!” “Seriously?!?” “Yes!” “Woo hoo!” He grabbed her arm and danced her around the entry rug. “There is no way you know what she is talking about.” Zach flicked confetti off his controller. “Yeah, I do. She talked about it nonstop a few weeks ago. And you” He turned back to Ro, picking her up again, “You are going to be on stage with The Frights! AAAHHHH!!!!” Ro shot one more round of confetti into the air. “First, you have to clean this up. But whatever, what exactly did you win?” “Oh nothing. Just FOUR TICKETS TO TERRASURF!!!!” This time it was Zach’s turn to be excited, “No way! Who gets to go?” Ro crossed her arms, “I do. I am the important beer can opener. And, well, there’s Leo and I was thinking Sara would be some good company…” “That’s bull.” Zach threw down his controller and stood up, “She doesn’t live here.” “But she’s awesome and amazingly fun.” “And I’m not?” Zach reached for the confetti gun but Ro had already spun to hide it from him giggling. “… And I guess I do have a fourth ticket…” “ I knew it!” Zach snatched the confetti gun and shot it off for himself this time, “Terrasuuuuuuuuurf 2017!”
