one of the reasons why i was upset after volume 2 wasn't even because i wanted will to come out or thought it would've made more sense for him than what we got it was because i wanted it to be clearer that he's gay because now people are still saying he isn't actually gay in the show which i knew was gonna happen and is just...so upsetting to me...

#it went 1) why would they do this to will 2) why would they do this to mike 3) oh so people can still deny that will is gay that's great #1) why would they do this to will was the more intense grievance. #and i've said he isn't actually technically gay in the show because like obviously he is but in a way people are still able to call subtext #and yk they still say he's not like that's what i meant when i said that and i know that they shouldn't have to dumb it down or whatever #but i mean that someone can watch the show not know about noah's interview and think he's straight and in love with el or whatever #(or aroace! there's people who still say that...) #which like i said i know they're dumb and the show is smart blah blah blah but it's just so annoying to me that people #can be like oh but it's subtext TECHNICALLY robin is the only queer character in the show :) like she's literally not #when people are like oh it's only confirmed outside of the show that doesn't actually mean much it's funny to me because like. are the #duffers jk rowling. who confirms a character's sexuality in the middle of a show and then retcons it? do the people who say this just think #they're gonna make him straight in season 5 like what #strangernews11 this is all your fault #this is about a qrt of their byler fanart tweet that was like 'and nothing for the canon lesbian' with a reply that said one is straight #and the other is subtext like DIE oh my god #sorry. i would never wish harm on anyone over a fictional character......... #i know i shouldn't care but i do. byler hate is bad enough i can't handle people saying will isn't even gay #byler hate actually doesn't really faze me anymore i'm just like i'll win in the end... #and like i say: brf slt

This season sucked BALLS. I shouldn't be but yet I am still amazed at how the Duffer Balls manage to have literal gold in their hands and chose to shit on it. Eddie's death was lazy writing. It was poor and just a quick and cheap way to wash away the whole 'Satanic Cult' bullshit. Also what is it with leaving his fucking CORPSE in the Upside Down for christ's sake. You couldn't even bring his fucking corpse back?? Nah fuck that. Disrespect to Eddie and a waste of a fucking brilliant actor like Joseph Quinn. And if that didn't make me angry enough, let me proceed with the rest of the mountains of bullshit. 1. This constant flip flop between Stancy and Jancy. Honest to fucking god I hate love triangles enough as a trope itself but for god's fucking sake this is basically taking a SEMI TRUCK INTO STEVE AND NANCY'S GODDAMN DEVELOPMENT. Steve's whole shit was learning to move from Nancy and Nancy finding a better connection with Jonathan. Oh, and Jonathan was treated like SHIT by the Duffers this season. Him being a stoner makes no fucking sense it was pulled out of goddamn fucking nowhere. 2. Whatever they were trying to pull with Will's sexuality flopped harder than Chrissy's corpse on the floor of the Munson's trailer. Like I don't even like Byler but A. it was vague as shit and B. They really used him just to push the Mileven agenda. Good job on completely fucking up Duffers. Brilliant

3. THE WHOLE FUCKING BULLSHIT WITH DEMONISING BILLY FOR THE 483TH TIME GOD'S SAKE. My man is dead. He has been fucking skewered like a fucking kebab and never got to live his fucking life and better himself and get away from his shit garbage father. I accepted that at the end that he's not coming back, but by god the Duffers can't just let my man die in fucking peace. No, instead they have to drag him through the goddamn mud again with Max's bullshit speech that I hate with all my might. That he 'didn't deserve to be saved'. Nice message there, telling people who have been in Billy's shoes that because they have been abused and mistreated and lash out because VICTIM'S AREN'T FUCKING PERFECT THEY ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH SHIT NO PERSON SHOULD EVER GO THROUGH, may or may not deserve a change for a better life. Billy SACRIFICED HIMSELF and became a fucking MARTYR over a memory of when he was happy and the smallest show of tenderness and caring from a child he DOESN'T EVEN KNOW that made him overpower a GODDAMN MIND CONTROLLING ELDRITCH ABOMINATION MONSTER AND SAVE EVERYONE. And the thanks he gets is the Duffers pissing on his grave. I will forever be fucking pissed at this writing and the Duffers should NEVER try write a character in an abusive situation again because by GOD they did it POORLY.

4. The sympathy bullshit for Brenner and Henry/Vecna/One. So you are telling me they made Brenner sympathetic with this "I oNlY wAnTeD tO hElP yOu" bullshit, and did this whole melancholy music scene. No fuck that. This man stole CHILDREN from their mothers and fried Terry Ives' brains to the point she can't have a normal fucking life and is stuck in a vegetable state for the rest of her life. He also abused these fucking kids and tortured them. FUCK HIM. And sympathy because of Henry/Vecna/One because of what Brenner did? saying he's not a monster? After he fucking killed INNOCENT KIDS and his own goddamn family? Getting his dad thrown into a mental asylum for a crime he didn't commit? Basically having an ideology that would involve fucking murdering all of humanity? And we had glimpses of sympathy through Eleven telling him he didn't need to do this? FUCK THAT TOO.

This season was executed poorly. It was so bad it made me miss the dumpster fire of Season 3. That's how bad it was. And I have no hope for Season 5, the only reason I'll watch it because I hate not knowing how a story ends, even if in the end it sucks ass and I'm left forever disappointed at how what once was a good story with a good plot and characters I adored and cared for became a complete fucking mess of fanservice, 80s pop culture references, lazy writing, and shitty horror for the sake of 'edge' and 'shock'.

I said it once and I'll say it again: Stanger Things should have ended in Season fucking TWO.

Anon, what are you hoping to achieve with this? What do you want me to say? And how is that going to do anything in any way? I've gotten asks like these in the past and I think people want me to see these asks and go "Melvins are crazy and homophobic and dumb" or whatever. And I know you want me to be negative or else you'd have said Mileven. But that's not going to do anything. You're only sending these asks to create conflict.

You can feel free to ask me my opinions on a ship or an analysis of it or whatever, but I don't feel comfortable generalising a large group of shippers based on the worst of them. I don't want people to think me shipping Byler or being anti-Mileven as a ship means I'm down to be rude about a group of shippers who for the most part are just trying to ship Mike and Eleven in peace?

It might come through, but I'm just becoming so disillusioned with ship drama. Don't get me wrong, I understand why people might not like a group of shippers. Ironically, every time I've defended Mileven I have gotten rude asks from toxic Mileven shippers. But I guarantee you an openly Mileven account gets lots of negative asks too. Because everyone hates how their ship because of the worst people in a group and then do the same thing. And it's all so silly because most of the hate is reactionary to people from other ships so if we all just stopped demonising each other and tried to get along it would stop. But I know that would never happen, so I'll at least try to make my account an ok space for people who ship things I don't like as much (unless it's a bad ship like st*bin or h*rringrove in which case don't follow me).

And if you respond to this ask saying "oh but Mileven shippers are worse because they're homophobic" or "Byler shippers are so toxic and hate Eleven", congratulations, you've missed the point. Because in my experience, both sides kind of suck sometimes. I get sent mean anti-Byler asks if I post about that ship. But if I disagree about anything that Byler shippers say, then I get rude asks from them. Hell, I even got told I was disrespecting Byler because I wanted both Byler and Ronance to be canon. I shouldn't be scared to post because people get angry at me from both sides. I made this account because I wanted to anonymously share my thoughts about the show I love without fear of being judged or being cringy and then I get sent stuff like this where I'm expected to slag off people doing the same thing just with another ship.

I completely understand why someone might dislike another ship if they've had negative experiences with that ship. I've had bad experiences with toxic Mileven shippers lots of times and it's easy to dislike them. But slagging off an entire group of people isn't going to actually do anything beyond just creating conflict and arguements. If a rude anti-Byler slides into my ask box and I have something constructive to add to it, I still will, but please know that I'm not down to slag off all Mileven shippers. I'm just so sick of ship wars, it's all anyone cares about. I want to make posts about theories and the show I love but nobody cares unless it's about a ship which makes me sad because I think people don't appreciate the actual show enough. I can't wait for everyone to say the show is horribly written if one of their ships doesn't become canon because that's all they value about the show :/. Ships should add to your enjoyment, not have your enjoyment depend on them, y'know?
