it’s been about a week now, and you’re already settled into liyue. you’ve caught the eye of a bunch of passersby in the city- a sumeru vision wielder living in liyue harbor? 

thankfully, you had the traveler and a kind woman from the qixing named ganyu able to assist you with questions about the city. the first day you got there, she noticed your vision, and asked you all about it. it soon led to the two of you hitting off the start of a friendship in a nice restaurant- with ganyu telling you all of the things to do in liyue, the jobs that can be taken, and how magical the lantern rite especially is. you mentioned to her that you had a passion for the arts, and she immediately helped you look for a side job to make a little bit of mora to pay rent in your nice abode in the middle of the harbor.

“so, were your travels from sumeru alright? i’ve heard trudging through desert is not a very enjoyable experience..” ganyu questioned, a slight grin to be found on her face. “though, i have heard that the city down there is very nice. i would love to visit for myself one day, but with work and adeptal business it makes my days a little tight.”

you nod before replying. “the city is beautiful, especially at night. theres a gorgeous stage down there too, where a young woman named nilou always performs on special events. it’s always been the most majestic part of the city, or at least in my opinion.” 

ganyu lets out a noise of fascination, before giggling a little. “i would love to watch her dance. nilou is a familiar name, some people here strictly go to sumeru just to see her. i bet she’s as wonderful as everyone makes her out to be.” ganyu sighs. “i wonder if she travels? we have nice performing places here, too.”

you nod. “occasionally. it mostly has to be a big event for her to arrive, though.” you take another bite of your food. “but i bet if i asked her, she’d come out for at least a few days.”

that made ganyu smile once more, before she asked another question. “well, this may be an odd question, but do you have any romantic relationships?” 

“well, that's the reason i decided to move here,” now it is your turn to sigh, making ganyu have a confused look dancing across her face. “my partner and i got into an argument. he wouldn’t stop overworking himself, and i simply just wanted him to come to bed. but he’s so stubborn, and he took his work stress out on me. there was… certainly a lot of name calling.”

ganyus look of confusion immediately switches to an apologetic one. “ah, you made the right choice. that’s no way to treat your spouse.” 

you nod in agreement, before finishing your dish and pushing it slightly out in front of you. 

“well, i’m going to head back to my apartment now. this was very nice, we should do it again sometime!” you smile before standing and putting some money on the table. “here, this should be half. have a good night, ganyu!”

“goodnight to you too, y/n! i’ll see you soon.” 

now, back on alhaithams end..

he hasn’t been home in about a week and a half, due to his work causing his presence nearly 24/7. that pretty much means he hasn’t realized you’ve left yet. 

as he walks home, he doesn’t know how he would approach you. does he pretend the issue doesn’t exist? does he keep ignoring you? does he apologize? he thought his mind would split open.

as he walks through the door, he notices that the house is a little… emptier, from when the two of you lived together. he walked through the whole place, looking into the bathrooms to see your products gone. looking at the laundry room, met with no clothes that are yours hanging from the clothesline. and now, when he went to your bedroom…

your pillowcases have been stripped from the bed, and your pillow thrown into the closet. there were only a stack of two pillows, right in the middle of the bed. now his heart was thumping, and really hard. he looked through the dressers. the left side was barren, leaving only his side full. the thing that brought tears to the mans eyes was seeing your wedding ring on your side of the table. 

so you really left him. he stands there, shocked, unknowing of what to do. does he try to find you, or does he let you go? oh, how he regrets ever talking to you the way he did. if he just took your advice, you would be in bed, waiting for his arrival. likely bringing him into a hug, shaking all his worries and stress away as you whispered questions along about how his day was. 

the next few days felt like someone kept coming over to his desk and stabbing his back with blades like his. he felt so regretful, doing everything he can to stay composed while at the same time trying to find where you’ve gone. dehya won’t give him anything besides “somewhere close to sumeru that’s not sumeru.” that could mean you’ve gone to fontaine, liyue, or monstadt. how would he ever find you?

he’d ask the gaurds, and they all told him you went in the direction of the chasm. getting somewhere, but not close enough. he could walk all that way and come up empty handed. he doesn’t have an exact pinpoint on you yet. 

he’d ask nilou. she’d just shrug and say something along the lines of “i heard what happened, but i do not know fully where they went.” 

he walked the paths of the city, lost deep in thought. everyone thought it was a little out of character for someone such as him to look and feel as lost as he is. as much as people wondered what happened, they kept their mouths shut.

and for the people who noticed your absence, too, they’d ask different people who would likely have knowledge. but alhaitham didn’t know where to go now. he could walk the whole chasm and still not have you turn up. he could check every apartment complex in liyue harbor, and knock on every door on the outskirts. he could sail the seas to inazuma, and walk every separate island to see who may be housing you, or what commission you may have been taken in by. he could fall down the very waterfall that leads an entrance to the enchanting location called enkanomiya. he could go to fontaine, dive under the waters, walk every rocky mountain, and even visit the fortress of meropide. he could fight every monster near the city of monstadt, looking upon every rooftop for signs of your art, blown through the city of wind. but he still wouldn’t find you.

now what he doesn’t know is that you’re in liyue harbor, and nobody frets to tell him that anytime soon. for now, they’re just going to let him suffer, the same way he let you.

what's a polyglot but for dancing. that's great tiger. he may not know every language but he is so far in love with spirited dancing and he was kind of born to be a dancer, he's so fluid and graceful. so far he's a master of tango, merengue, breakdancing, dabke and while he does not plan on committing to it anytime soon, he has a few pieces of ballet that he's working on

btw my favorite favorite little great tiger moment is when you lose to him in title defense where he and his clones are dancing right. there's this BRIEF little moment where as the camera is zooming in on him, he looks up at it and winks!!! RHHGHGGH

he and don being right next to each other in major circuit is so true because they both perform for the cameras so hard. don flamenco a little harder though. i just know during their fights they sorta punch each other a couple times and then just go immediately into an intricate dance battle. they are VOGUING

they are super cute outside the ring though. don, carmen, and tiger are actual besties, and don't tell carmen, but tiger is absolutely going to be don's best man once he proposes

anyway i say all this about great tiger bc i hc him as having been a breakout bollywood star when he was a kid, like he shot up in the ranks quick because he was always so charming on and off set, plus he had SKILLS like he was basically the perfect child actor; extremely good at taking direction, super funny, total sunshine child. at one point he got invited to an industry party where another major film star was showing off tigers that he kept in his mansion. it blew baby great tiger's MIND because he'd always dreamed of having a tiger best friend but then he saw how lethargic all the tigers were, and the ones who weren't constantly glassy eyed were kept behind tall strong walls, constantly pacing and extremely aggressive. it made him feel. gross.

he did a couple more movies, even an american blockbuster in his teens, but he completely disappeared after that. when asked, all his parents would say was, "he said he was done, so he is done." interestingly enough, the funds they had earned alongside their son's movie career were all funneled into bengal tiger preservation and rescue programs.

anyway. disco kid is in no way petty or bitchy he is actually the most chill and friendly human being on earth but the funniest thing he ever did was just before super macho man went up against him in the ring. obvs smm lovessss to talk smack online (and it's good for the ratings) so he was all over twitter hyping himself up gaining more fans bc he was obviously favored to win. but then. disco kid posts a single captionless image

so. disco kid got his ass beat so he may not have won the battle but by god did he win the funny bitch war. even to this day macho cannot shake the ariana allegations

obvs i think disco kid/kid quick are brothers but hello disco kid is absolutely the big brother. don't make that face it's a rigby's little brother from regular show thing. they aren't attached at the hip or anything but as semi-popular boxing brothers from a rich ass family they bought and share that big house in the background of disco's introduction

they also make each other SO NERVOUS whenever the other is in the ring. they show up every night but sooner or later retreat to the locker rooms semi hyperventilating hoping praying that their brother isn't getting too badly beat up. at the end as long as an er trip isn't in the picture they go out and get baskin robbins' to wind down

aran ryan has a girlfriend named maeve from free derry. she's been kicked shadowbanned and barred from multiple social media platforms because of her unabashed social activism, been arrested multiple times for being too bold against the police, is 5'10, makes clothes for schoolgirls who want to stick it to the dress codes, and wears the same hat every day because the first time they met he stuck it on her and said she ought to keep it cuz she looked good in it. she took a couple pins off her jacket stuck them to the hat and agreed

maeve has never paid for an entry into aran's matches and nobody can stop her from coming because aran always ~inexplicably~ purchases a ticket for the security to hold onto "in case a lass comes 'round lookin' for real entertainment"

she purposefully plonks herself within the crowd of aran haters and guffaws and claps as loud as possible every time he gets the upper hand. she expects it gets lost in the chorus of boos and jeers but he hears it

they have a semi routine where maeve pretends she's on her way out and then aran wraps his arm around her and brags about bagging a girlfriend and every time maeve shouts i'm not yer fuckin girlfriend and they fight and call each other names all the way to the car where they make out once the paparazzi is gone

they both don't expect their relationship to last long but not everything has to last forever for it to have meaning y'know. also they are symbiotically unhinged and keep anyone else from having to deal with them as a partner

i have actually so many idk if i could fit this all in one ask but ill start w treemina

so my hc for treech's surname is elwood, and he has 2 siblings, one older brother named rowan, and a younger sister named hana. basically his older brother was killed in an accident in the lumberyards when he was young, which left treech as the sole provider for his family, since his father passed from illness and his mother is unfit to work. he left school really young to join the lumberyards and make his brother proud (probably at like 12 or 13) but always kept trying to teach himself things out of old books he finds in his house, because he loves to learn and find out things about the world. he is js innately very curious about why things are the way they are, which makes him almost skeptical at times. he's really close with hana, and she was twelve when he was reaped, so he was only worrying about her and he didn't even think that his own name would be called.

he knew lamina before the games but not very closely, i imagine him to be quite jealous of her because although they are both from a poorer part of d7, lamina has older brothers she can rely on and she can stay in school. they had a few quick encounters, and treech knew her because she would always try to sell her woodwork to him/his family but he always politely declined since they didn't have enough money. he's almost mesmerised by the way that she crafts things and develops a small crush on her, which he feels absolutely awful about during the games.

speaking of lamina, i hc her last name to be thorn and that she's the youngest of four siblings, all brothers. her family isn't very close with her, and she has issues with her mother especially. she never met her dad, he was gunned down by peacekeepers before she was born, so her mother kind of latches on that hurt and resentment to lamina, and favours her brothers over her. her brothers all view eachother as competition almost, for who could be the best son, and lamina is so far left behind in that argument that she can't really connect w/ them either. she couldnt afford to be very emotional before the games because she knew she'd be ridiculed by her family for it so she tried to be nonchalant, but as soon as she's reaped she knows deep down that she isnt going to make it, and if she wants to be her true self and show her true feelings its going to be now. she is very steadfast in her morals and refuses to take another's life, unless it's for mercy (like marcus) and believes she'd rather die herself than become something else of the capitol's creation.

i may have to make a part two to this because its so long but sorry for ranting and thank u for the ask!!!!

OKKK SOOO I read the new chapter about two times now. First one was a for funsies then the 2nd was to figure out more shit😭 soooo with my last comment. I feel like I'm not too far from the idea. Again with Geto, at the end it turns out he planned this. Or at least the conversation topic. But another thing that I noticed was, how, in the beginning, Geto didn't really see how we had a connection with Choso until everything clicked to him. Yet he still decided to taunt the living shit outta us. Which in turn, caused the outcome of the chapter. And you can't really say that Geto showed up at the Cafe on purpose because he was surprised to see us too. Another thing, which showed up a few times in the chapter. Was the word "yesterday" idk I feel like it probably doesn't have anything to do with the fic, or the chapter. But it was repeated multiple times. The ending is a big cliffhanger too😭 another thing was with Sukuna, we learn that of course, he treats women really shitty, and I was wondering why he was so sweet with us? I remember he how he gained a small bit of respect for us, but that was abt it. Also, maybe Sukuna does have something to do with this. One thing that I keep thinking about was when after we slept with him, he went to his phone and was messaging someone, or checking his phone. Idk. But a little while after, we get money from Gojo. 1. Okay so the date of what took place in the fic is early February on a Monday! Ik sometimes it’s hard to keep track of but yeah, in their university I kinda explained before tht their winter break was roughly two months and a half so they wouldn’t return back to school until mid febuary!

You mentioning the use of the word yesterday just made me wanna clear tht up for some reason😭 Yesterday in her case would be a Sunday and as the story goes, nothing important happened on that day so she just kept using it to emphasize that what was done was quite some time ago and not recent!!

2. Also, Geto was going to be there regardless because he’s the friend Yuki was there to meet ^.^

3. Next, Gojo has once mentioned that Sukuna would like the reader because she’s cute so it’s honestly okay for one to assume that there are certain women Sukuna favors more than others.

Not only that, even when Sukuna and the reader meet, although he danced with her, it was mentioned how she was always intimidated by him & for a woman such as herself, if u notice, intimidation in this fic is always the first emotion felt before fear ^.^

4. While yes Gojo sent money not too long after Sukuna sent some kinda message, it’s also said that Gojo knew she was supposed to be with Sukuna that day & he could’ve simply assumed she did what was needed to be done!

I felt a similar way about college and I eventually dropped out, but I am being so real when I say this: if you don't want to do traditional 4 year university that is fine, but if you have a chance at higher education, at least pursue a technical or vocational career so you can make decent money right off the bat. I made the mistake of pursuing university when I didn't feel committed to it and WISH someone had advised me to at least get some type of credit that would help me Jumpstart any career. You just need some type of skill that will help you get paid. Since I only have some higher education but no actual skill study, I make just barely enough at 27 years old. I am now pursuing vocational nursing so I can start saving for retirement. Even if it's not school, don't feel bad, but pursue an apprenticeship or anything that could help you get a skilled job.

I love you smm for taking the time to write this. Honestly I am confident in choosing to go to university it’s mostly just like a lifestyle shift that frightens me like mental illness makes it so hard for me to cope sometimes so I’m pretty worried about dealing with that and things like Roomates/ living on my own/ even feeding myself sometimes.. just the little intricacies that come with actually Going to uni. I’m sure I will adapt I’m just someone who needs to catastrophize and obsess in order to go about doing anything also as someone who has dropped out of school like 3 times it’s nice to hear ab someone whose taken a nontraditional route too!! Hoping desperately that “it will all come out right in the end.” With all due respect, it ain’t a gonna happen.

I read with great interest the treatise on how things would have been a lot better in the Unification Movement if, instead of having short-sighted goals, they would have done better to build a better foundation. Unfortunately, to me this seems now like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The ship is going down, so no matter what you do, it’s just cosmetic. The problem is a top-down problem.  The top is rotten to the core, meaning “True Father” and “True Parents” and “True Family” are just catch-phrases to many members who have left or who are hanging on by their fingernails, hoping desperately that “it will all come out right in the end.” With all due respect, it ain’t a gonna happen. 

The internet has exposed Sun Myung Moon for what he really was. And the Divine Principle is just another theological theory which he apparently didn’t even come up with himself. So if something is based on a lie and more lies are perpetuated about the founder himself and his history and his accomplishments…well, the universe will not support a lie indefinitely. Only force can make people live a lie. The kind of force that North Korea and Communist China and dictatorships throughout history have used. The kind of force that was sometimes used in the Unification Movement by leaders who thought they were following SMM’s pattern of “tough love” which really amounted to bullying, threatening and shaming. But I, like many others, had enough and voted with my feet to leave such an organization because my spiritual freedom and right to live by my conscience instead of fear and psychological manipulation was paramount. I think I speak for many. 

So if you who are still “card-carrying members” want to make things better, you are facing an uphill battle all the way, because the leadership is still corrupt and mostly Korean, and they will not listen to you or be influenced by you one whit.

Buh-Bye Barrytown Well, it’s happening before our eyes. I’m sure there will be an “outcry” amongst current members when the news is known about Barrytown being sold. I’m sure we’ll hear all the quotes from “Father” about how Barrytown is a precious historical site for the church and should be preserved forever. It’s “historical” just for the fact that the Lord of the Second Advent walked its halls! And spoke in its auditorium! And probably prayed on its grounds!!!! Yet, there it goes. Maybe it will be torn down and something else erected in its place.

Can Belvedere and East Garden be far behind? They are even more historical, because the Lord of the Second Advent and His Family actually LIVED there. A good friend told me that he visited Belvedere several years ago. He used to be the bookkeeper there and worked in “the vault” in the basement. It was actually his office. The current staff couldn’t open it and asked him for help, so he went down to help them. He happened to look in some of the rooms in the basement and there were all these “coffins” there made of steel or some other strong metal. He asked what was in them. The brother proudly told him there were scores of “Father’s” clothes. His suits, his shirts, his shoes, even his underwear. All being preserved for future generations to see in some far-off museum. I wonder what will happen to those coffins if they sell Belvedere??? Will anyone be left to build that museum? Will anyone care to visit it to stare at Father’s empty clothes? I think the handwriting is on the wall. The UC is dying. The money to fund it is drying up. The membership is dwindling and what members are left cannot prop it up much longer. Someday books will be written about how it all went so wrong. Then again, maybe no one will care. Time moves on and religious movements that were once “new” and “different” fade away. Buh-bye Barrytown. I guess your time is over.
