I'm behind on Edens Zero, so I'm referring to the old chapters, but for me it's not a flat chested problem. It's a set of things,
how the body is drawn (the whole body, not just the breasts). Hermit has a body of a 13 year old, at least to me she looks very similar to Wendy/Chelia or how Mashima draws children, and I'm not the one who thinks it, this was also confirmed in the manga by Rebecca. In fact, as you said, no one has ever thought that Levy is a child, because even though she's petite and has flat breasts she is drawn differently, and above all, canonically she is not a child and this is recognized by everyone. Plus, the personality counts too, and Hermit has child personality traits. This is why people see Wermit and Zervis as pedo, and not Gajevy, because it is not a question of breasts. I'm not saying that Zervis and Wermit are pedo ships (I don't think technically they are), but I personally see a lot of pedophile nuances that keep me from enjoying ships.
Tysm for not being rude anon, I respect and appreciate you telling me your reason without being toxic❤ That being said, this is probably the first and last time I'm answering any asks regarding this matter, only 'cause I felt it'd be wrong not to deliver my reasoning when you're being nice.
I was, well, lucky that someone on the EZ sub asked about whether or not Hermit is depicted as a child and there were some pretty solid as well as logical explanations against this very popular belief which I could wholeheartedly agree with and so I'm just gonna be a little lazy and quote them(a little bit modify too) since I'd have said the exact same thing to say.
You might say that Hermit is Wendy's counterpart but in that case, she's also Belnika's counterpart(Rave Master) who's around 18 y/o and an young adult. So being a counterpart quite literally doesn't mean you'd be the same type of character.
Hermit is in no way depicted as a child and never has been since the start. She's a petite adult who just happens to have the same height as Wendy and has similar twin tails. And no, twin tails isn't a child thing.
The one and only time someone referred to her as one was in her intro- Rebecca first saw her and questioned whether or not she was a child via seeing her depressed form in space but Happy immediately informed that she was an android and what she looks like to others isn't indicative of her true age.
She never really acts like a child, she's one of the more mature cast members (post-depression arc) and everyone aboard the Edens Zero views Hermit as an adult, a mature person they can rely on without a doubt and none of them have ever treated her as a child. They show her the same respect as they show the other adults like how Haru and others treat Belnika, unlike how team Natsu and the guild treat Wendy so differently. She even dubbed herself as Shiki's big sister when he was a newborn.
We do not have proof of any character ages except Shiki but Hermit is at least over 30 years old as of our knowledge so far.
Most importantly, Mashima doesn't depict Hermit as a child at all. He himself stated that she isn't a Wendy clone when he finished actualizing her character and has proven many of times that she never was and never will be a child. Unlike Wendy who mostly doesn't get lewded or framed in a mature way, Hermit constantly does and doesn't even have the same body shape as Wendy. She's more of a counterpart to Levy in terms of figure. Mashima has drawn her in ways that shows off her body and curves multiple times like he does to all other adult women in FT and EZ. Even going as far as saying he prefers Wermit as a romantic ship.
Also she's not Wendy's counterpart in a sense, yeah, she was originally supposed to be but Mashima himself stated in a stream that he changed his mind while creating her and had her be something completely different from Wendy in terms of character and role in the story. She serves a way different role than her, doesn't show any minor traits at all. There are more details that I can explain but I don't wanna accidentally spoil you.
Short woman with little chest aren't children.
The Wermit ship was never a pedo one in the first place, in fact no Hermit ship ever was. You can ship her with adults 'cause she's an adult too, not just Weisz.

bunch of Phantasy AU doodles n wip from earlier this year
Basically I just found out this year that ball-jointed dolls actually have strings in them and not just... magically attached by the ball joints themselves?
And 31 in this AU is a ball jointed doll that were made out of Danny's energy so here we are :3c
I've been watching a lot of doll customization since earlier this year and found out from dollightful's video that no they are all connected by elastic strings inside so that's where the idea came from
...i was looking on google to find a good example to put here and clearly I'm not exactly paying attention to how the main body strings are actually.. pinned to?
the video I've been watching the most is dollightful n moonlight jewel and they have their bjd usually only to the bottom of the doll head instead of all the way to the top on the skull pin like the diagram above
Which is why 31 has his strings all connected to the 'heart' in the middle instead of the head kasjdnkasjnd
But yeah uhhh specifics aside...
----
Those ball jointed dolls made me think of 31, and then thinking about the clones in Phantasy AU and like.. the logistic of it
for 31, the idea is that during the circus gothica arc for this AU, Danny actually got kidnapped all the whole way into another universe/plane in which he met Valeska (Enn's oc) who unalive what his face the circus leader n break Danny's hypnosis
and now that Danny is essentially stuck in a whole other plane/realm/or sth he just following Valeska hoping she'll help him find his way back.
In one such trip, Danny got kidnapped (again) by another group/cult who wanted to use his power/energy as a gate keeper to the ghost zone to make their own gate keeper so they can open portals to ghost zones and maybe other realms too
31 is part of the experiments. He's a doll made with part of Danny's energy as his core.
And then it's.. uhh.. sth sth Valeska finally found out where they kept Danny and devour everyone there safe from Danny n 31 who helped him escape so now the three of them travel together~
The last pict is me thinking about clones and kingdom hearts :tm: so
dramatic about Danny being the soul separated from the main body and 31 a clone made from part of the soul too and all that
Not sure where I'm going with that but it do sound cool
And there's also Danielle but I'm not exactly sure.. how she would fit in? but it would be interesting if she was made from Danny's body somehow
so 31 made from part of teh soul and Dani from part of the body sounds poetic somehow

snippet of tpac ch 11
who wants to see bruce being bullied? doesn't matter, here you go
...
“—per my last missive, Sir: if you want this equation to exist, then the principles of linear algebra must necessarily exist.” Korvin waves a thin stack of ruled paper—covered with sprawling formulas, symbols, bullet lists, and patchwork paragraphs on both sides—like he’s trying to banish a demon. That demon, in this instance, is “Batman being stubborn.”
Bruce looks taken aback, like something is happening outside of his set parameters. From how Dick tried to explain it: apparently, Bruce and Korvin have a whole “pen pals” routine going on, and it’s still thriving despite them sharing the same living quarters for the past few months?
Do they actually waste stamps on this? Where do they hide the envelopes?
(Dick raised his hands in surrender at that line of questioning.)
Tim knows Bruce is a creature of habit and standards of operation—of which he completely respects because it’s efficient—but his staunch adherence to routine is next-level neurotic. Normally, he'd be furious about being sidetracked.
Yet, Korvin’s thrown caution to the wind and got so mad over math, like the fussy nerd that he tries to hide being, that he’s directly confronting Bruce—full “David vs Goliath” vibes here. And he's winning.
“I trust your work,” Bruce finally says, holding his hand out for the papers.
That only makes Korvin’s face twitch harder. “Sure. Why not. Everyone needs a bit of make-believe. Escapism in these trying times and shitass economy.”
“‘Shitass economy,’” Cass murmurs, of course latching onto the bit that everyone reacts to.
Babs sighs in disgust.

I hate to nitpick the Atsushi hallucinating scene in the new episode cause it was SO well done otherwise, but I'm still really sad that they cut out Francis being there. Like... it's not entirely necessary, I guess, but it just adds so much to his character and to the scene itself?
The Francis in Atsushi's mind is this looming, intimidating presence, because Atsushi did of course fight against him, he was his enemy at one point, but I think it undeniably says a lot that he's even included here at all.
I'm pretty sure I saw this discussed back when this chapter first came out, but while everything Atsushi's hallucinations say to him are framed as negative, putting him down, they can also be read as letting him know that the burden of responsibility for making such a huge decision isn't on him (hence why he decides to let Fukuzawa decide instead, because he can't make THE choice, but he can still choose to act to let someone else decide, and not simply do nothing), and Francis is no exception in this regard. Since he's naturally haughty and arrogant in his personality, this fake version of him doesn't at all feel out of character, coldly saying that "nobody expects anything of you", but again, I think this line especially can also be read as "you are not expected to do anything". In that way, it feels more reassuring, and maybe even dare I say kind -- the fact that Atsushi even considers him important enough of a figure in his life to think of what he would say to him in this moment means that he counts Francis among his allies now. Yes, they didn't get along at first when Francis lied and told him that he only wanted to revive Margaret just so she could kill Hawthorne (because god forbid he actually admit out loud that he cares about people, smh), and obviously because of the whole almost burning Yokohama down and trying to kill him and Akutagawa thing lol, but I'm pretty sure Atsushi changed his mind about him after he saw the state Margaret was in, and recognized how much Francis cares about her and wanted her to be alright. He probably still remembers him talking about his desire to bring back his daughter and save her and his wife, too. The guy still probably isn't someone Atsushi would want to hang out with and be buddy-buddy with during his free time lmao, but the airheaded vain old sport still has a good heart, deep down, and I think Atsushi has seen this by now, because he's a kind person, and so I think it speaks volumes that he unconsciously looks to him for advice here. Francis is just a really good and underrated character, and this is such a small but meaningful moment that shows his development so well, the only moment with him we've gotten or any of the Guild really in such a long time, so it makes me sad to see this cut 💔
I also just feel like not including him kind of weakens the impact of Akutagawa's appearance here?? Like, there's a progression of the order of people Atsushi hears/sees in this scenes: first, people from the ADA sans Dazai, who are all portrayed as on the same level, because he cares about them all equally, aside from I guess Kyouka (again, sans Dazai, the most important person to him). Then, there is Francis, and not to say that Francis is more important to Atsushi than the ADA, obviously not, but he's one of the last to appear because he used to be his enemy, and so he commands much more of a presence, has more of an impact -- but at the same time, like I said, it's complicated: he's not really his enemy anymore, but something between a rival and a friend, and so for that reason his words carry more weight. He is someone Atsushi, logically, shouldn't trust, after what he did to him in the past, and yet he does, because things have changed since the Guild arc, and he knows he can count on him to be there for him and the ADA now.
And then, after him, there is Akutagawa. Who is basically exactly the same as everything I just described for Francis, but times one hundred. Of course Akutagawa would be last. Of course, if there's someone Atsushi would simultaneously and paradoxically be both intimidated by and yet comforted to hear their advice because of their tumultuous history together, far more than Francis, it would be Akutagawa. The progression of ADA members > Francis > Akutagawa in that order gives Akutagawa's appearance much more weight imo than just going straight to him from the ADA members, especially with the specific framing of him standing in line behind Francis to judge/advise Atsushi.... it's just much more powerful, and I wish they'd kept it like this, for both Francis and Aku's characters.

if i'm honest, i'm having a bout of " am i being annoying? " so i might just see myself out till tomorrow. i hate to do that bc i really wanna get my drafts queued, but i also don't think it's good for me to force myself to do something if i'm feeling off. maybe i'll surprise myself and come back and write? but i'm not gonna stress about it too much -- or at least try not to :' )
please take care of yourselves and remember it's alright to take a break when you need one <3 in general ofc, but especially on this silly lil website bc this is a hobby -- not a job!!

i'm always out here talking about byan's trauma with men, but honestly they have almost as much when it comes to boys. most of the bullying, harassment, and mistreatment they received from their peers growing up came at the hands of boys. not all of it, of course, but considering that was the generalized group they were shoved into most of their life, and the one they didn't fit in with... it's where more of the damage came from.

Ja’Marr is back at it on Twitter. This guy is the Ochocinco for real
At first i thought this was about him tagging Ochocinco in that Mcdonalds tweet, which is so funny on its own.
But yeah! He's certainly not going to back down, and i'm all for it! I don't think it's particularly disrespectful or anything, I mean it's a clip from the documentary that Pat consented to be on! He knew he was being filmed as he said that, and really I love that he did. It's such a sign of respect from him that he thought we were better than the bills and how much he wanted to beat us. And the fact that he was 'sick of the talk' even BEFORE the bills game. like iirc wasn't that before the whole Burrowhead thing had even started?? rent free honestly 🥲
And really i love how committed Ja'Marr is to this rivalry. It's a lot of fun and i really don't think anyone has crossed any lines yet, it's all just part of the game! Can't wait to see how everything plays out this season!

Oh my God I'm so surprised that super persistent but consistently flawed debater on Tumblr is actually a child. I never saw that coming.
Look, there's things that adults shouldn't say/ topics we shouldnt bring up around children and should be able to create spaces away from them. If I'm being completely honest, radical feminism almost entirely falls in this category of 18+ content. We are constantly talking about sexual violence and other extremely adult topics that aren't appropriate for developing minds to be constantly bombarded with. It's bad for your young minds and it's bad for the movements that you seem to think you care about.
If you want to be a child activist then volunteer for your local community, don't get in online spaces with adults. It's simply not safe for children and creates an unproductive environment for adults. Children will learn better skills and build more fulfilling relationships and achievement doing local community activism anyways.
If you're a minor you need to put that shit somewhere so that we can tell that we're talking to a literal baby. I really don't enjoy this increasing trend of purposely not telling people when y'all are minors because you think that it's going to make people dismiss you, when you having limited life experience is a legitimate limitation on your analysis. You're being deceptive because someone placed a social boundary that you don't want to respect. It's high key gross.
On the same note, different tune, I hope this serves that is a reminder that people can literally be lying, either outright or by omission, about everything they claim about themselves on here. We, people in general, have created the online culture where it's completely normal to lie about important identifying features about ourselves for social clout/elevation. While I know there are some of us that may not participate in this practice, I know plenty of radfems do. We've caught a few doing it red-handed and all they're doing is breeding distrust amongst us in these spaces.
Can y'all not just act like normal honest people?

controversial opinion perhaps but i kinda hate when youtubers, esp ones with a large audience, pull armchair psychology on villainous or clearly negative characters, when they don't have the disorders they're talking about or some background in psychology or at least talking to someone who has it to make sure what they're saying is relevant. it kinda feels like it adds to the constant demonization of these disorders (like. going "this character is bipolar because they killed someone on a whim" is Not Great to say the least) without any regard to how it affects the real people who live with them
