You know what I think would make an interesting episode in season two?

A episode where they have to confront the temptation of their “perfect life”

(Similar to the Supernatural episode: What Is And What Should Never Be where Djinn make you believe your greatest dream comes true)

Or more specifically, their assumed “perfect life”

Like Angel Dust and Husker would obviously want their souls back but what else could someone assume that they’d want?

For Husker to want to go back to the life of Overlord? Instead of everyone being at the hotel, they’re all at his casino? Charlie is in management, Vaggie is security, Niffty is a maid, Sir Pentious fixes things when they break. (Alastor probably wouldn’t be a part of the equation lol it’d be like the deal never took place). Angel is the top performer, helps swindle the guests out of more money, willingly acts as arm candy for Husk when he needs?

For Angel would it be assumed that he wants revenge on Valentino? Would he over throw him, take over the studio? Or would he start his own gang, maybe with Valentino’s other freed workers - we saw a glimpse of his brother, if he had a successful gang in hell would he “gain” the respect of his brother and father like he never had in life? Maybe he works with Husk to have a safe spot for him and his crew carved out in his casino which maybe houses the others like above?

If, for some reason he was back in hell, visiting maybe, Sir Pentious would probably get the experience of being an overlord, the others work with his eggs as members in his crew, he gets his chance with Cherri Bomb.

Cherri Bomb might run the drug trade or a really competent gang of thrives, has the black market under her thumb. Angel’s her right hand man. We haven’t see much of her interactions with the others (except for Sir Pentious - “RIP”) so I don’t know how they’d fit in. Sir Pentious wouldn’t be “dead” they’d get a chance to explore whatever was going on with them.

We don’t know a ton about Niffty other than some strong characteristics so maybe hers is something more similar to reality than the others. They’re all together she cleans after everyone, has someone who indulges her desires. She gets to kill more than she usually does and then cleans up after?

Charlie and Vaggie’s would be very similar if not the same. The hotel worked! Everyone’s redeemed, they’re all together in Heaven, the exterminations have been ended, everyone’s at peace. Charlie has her family back together, Vaggie maybe never fell but still somehow is connected to Charlie?

Alastor obviously would no longer be on his leash. He’s the most powerful overlord, maybe some of the others are also overlords, in an alliance with him, maybe in his perfect reality he has no connection to them at all, he’s all powerful and has his connections with Rosie and Mimzy (+ whoever else we’ll meet in the future that’s connected to him) and that’s enough. He doesn’t need the other hotel members, he doesn’t want them, he doesn’t want to be altruistic, after all.

Some of them are at a point where I think they’d feel empty without the others, ruining the “perfect” life if they’re not there- though some might be able to settle in without the others

At some point all, most, or some of them start to realize that it’s all a fantasy and have to both rip themselves away and then confront themselves on why they were given that as their “perfect life”

Idk, just think it could be interesting

I know there probably won’t be a episode like that but I think it would be a fun dive into their characters, the assumptions people have of them, and the contrasts of what they truly desire

Even though it’s not likely to be an episode, it’d still make a great fanfic

Might write it 🤔 would have to iron out the maybes lol

Hi Mina, this might be a little bit of an odd question, but I'm trying to make an OC with special powers (Idk If you know anything about MCU's Scarlet Witch but her powers are similar to that). She's basically very powerful snd she hides the fact she has these powers from her beloved elf. What would be the elves' reaction be when she suddenly saves them from a legal attack using her powers? 🤔

Sorry Ik this is difficult, but I was hoping if you could help me out a little bit. This OC thing might go down into the dump who knows lol

I have to say, I really love this question and would love to write headcanons if it was ever requested. Now, onto this masterpiece OC that you're creating which requires my input. First and foremost, I love the Scarlet Witch and your idea. Happy to help.

Your elves are probably going to think that you're a Maia and the Valar sent you to relieve them of their suffering. Some might believe that you could be one of the Valar, for they only ever felt that level of power surging from them. They would love for you to show them your powers and learn all that they can from them.

Fingolfin, FINGON, Turgon, FINROD, Angrod, Aegnor, GLORFINDEL, Ecthelion, EGALMOTH, Galdor, Rog, CELEBRIMBOR

Sceptical because they are aware of the Valar not being of any assistance since they defied them and don't have any positive views on them. Quick to throw a million and one questions and force you to reveal your true intentions. When you do reveal that you're on their side, expect apologies. A few may still be cautious.

FEANOR, MAEDHROS, Maglor, CELEGORM, Caranthir, CURUFIN, Amrod, Amras

In general, they would all be in awe of your power. It becomes very useful in battle. From lifting them into the air so they could defeat creatures with ease, to throwing the creatures about the place. You're able to create hexes, manipulate reality, control the mind, weather control, teleportation, and spell casting.

I'm putting the rest under the cut since it would be of more interest to you anon. Hope it everything helps and best of luck.

With the Darkhold the Scarlet Witch was able to dream-walk, but you could include them doing so without it. In the comics, the Scarlet Witch's powers extended to the limits of being able to speak and the action would be performed.

Can I give you a bit of backstory to how your OC could be created if you don't mind? You don't need to use it, but if you're trapped go right ahead.

They can be one of Morgoth's experiments - a Maia he stole from Irmo (since he deals with the mind) because he admired their powers and wished to enhance them.

The experiment could be a failure or a success. But they're trapped in Angband being forced to assist Morgoth with his scheme. Control the minds of elves and creatures.

You could escape on your own or during the time when Fingon rolls in to rescue Maedhros and he passes through Angband.

I think the Feanorians, should they learn of your abilities, would be quick to convince you to help them regain the Silmarils without a doubt, as well as defeat Morgoth once and for all.

Same with the other Houses, they would all urge you to assist them in defeating Morgoth and using your powers for the greater good.

There might be a tug-of-war between which elven houses get to host you. Either the Feanorians or the High King.

Hi! I found your at from a zine modding advice compilation doc. I am planning to make a zine, but I have no experience modding. I was wondering if I could get your advice on how to make realistic/fulfillable plans as a newbie?

Hi there! I'm in a zine mod advice doc? 0: I had no idea, could you send me a link? I'm curious!

So, I ran my zine solo and it was my first time running any sort of project like this. It was saddlestitched 30-40 pages (I don't remember exactly; this was several years ago) and we did merch: an enamel pin, a sticker sheet, a die-cut sticker, and two holographic prints. In the end, we made enough money to cover our costs and pay out $6 (approximately) to each contributor, but did not raise enough money to offer complimentary copies of the physical zine/merch. I was aiming to have enough for complimentary copies, which is why I'd call the project a semi-success.

This got long! But here's pretty much all the advice I got:

Know your audience. Is it a fandom zine? How big is the fandom? Original content zines will struggle more to gain interest. How big is YOUR platform, specifically? As lead, the onus is on you to get the word out at the start to attract contributors and potential buyers. Try to gauge how many copies you might sell from this. Lean conservative on your estimate and base your plan on that. (This is where interest checks come in!)

Pick your vendors. Familiarize yourself with the terminology they use. Compare and contrast prices and services using the sales estimate you devised in the last step. How long does shipping take? What is the policy if products come out defective? There are always going to be some defective products when producing en masse. Check reviews. Have you bought zines yourself? Contact the creators of zines you like and ask them which vendors they're using for their assorted products. (I had a great experience with mixam.) Don't forget to look into acquiring packaging and shipping costs (domestic and international)!

Decide how you're going to sell the zine. Kickstarter's great if you're using a vendor that has a set MOQ (minimum order quantity) or if you want to guarantee to be able to provide a certain level of compensation for your contributors, but it also takes a fee and means that, if you don't get enough orders, you have to start the campaign all over again. Bigcartel has more flexibility in terms of sales windows and such, but it's difficult to customize like kickstarter. Also, if you're using bigcartel and don't sell enough, you're on the hook for either refunding or fulfilling all the preorders you do get. You'll also need a stripe and paypal business account.

Make a budget. So you have an estimate of how many you think you'll sell. You know how much your vendors cost. You've accounted for your incidentals (kickstarter fee, packaging, gas to get to the post office, etc). Refer to other zines for what typical prices for your products are and set your prices based on that. (Analyzing what other zines are doing is generally a good idea.) What's the absolute minimum number of sales you need to cover costs? (Fewer orders usually increases production cost.) How many sales do you need to make to compensate your contributors? What will you do if there's excess money? What if it's not enough to split it among your contributors evenly? ($40 is a lot for one person, but it's basically nothing split 30 ways.) Are you going to make stretch goals?

Make a timeline. Interest check, contributor apps, concept submissions (you'll want to know what people are doing before they start working), periodic WIP checks to make sure everyone's on task (there will always be a few people who need to drop out), preorder period, manufacture time, shipping timeline. People will want to know what to expect, especially contributors. Ensure the contributors have plenty of time to work, since, chances are, they're effectively donating their time and effort. Keep in mind major holidays and school schedules; people will need more time if those are happening. Give yourself plenty of pillow space for unforseen issues, so you can stick to this timeline as much as possible throughout the process.

Have the full plan written out for your contributors before they arrive. Be clear and concise. Timeline, expectations in terms of content and behavior, instructions, how you're going to fulfill the zine, expected compensation. Not everyone knows how to prepare an image for print, so include that in your instructions. You're gonna want a discord for this. I also used google forms to manage check-ins and other such things.

Be involved, and COMMUNICATE. Talk to your contributors outside of check-ins. You're their hypeman! Hype them up! Make sure your passion's there for all to see! Nothing, and I mean nothing, kills a project faster than a disinterested/aloof leader. You'll also want to communicate any issues to contributors and buyers asap. It's not embarrassing; people will be patient (mostly) as long as they have communication. Silence is upsetting.

Consider marketing. I've written this as if you're going solo, but these next few bullets is why people usually run zines as a team. Once the contributor team is assembled, that's when you need to hit the bricks. There's a lot of waiting time and you need to gain a potential audience and keep them interested. Marketing is a weak point of mine, so I don't have much advice, but it's critical for the success of a zine. Contributors can advertise a little, but the bulk of that's on you. You'll want an account dedicated to the zine, I can say that much.

Is graphic design your passion? Even if a contributor is designing the cover, what will be on the inner page? The back cover? Do you have any writers contributing fic? That will need formatting. (Do you know how many words fit on a page? It's different depending on the size of the book.) You'll need to make some sort of credits page, or will you put credit information on the same page as each contribution? Quality graphic design can make or break marketing attempts.

Double check your contributors' work. There are going to make mistakes. Most people aren't used to preparing things for print. Having room for bleed (edges of an image that may be cut off during the printing process, or hidden when bound into a book) was a particular issue in my zine. Even if all this is written in your instructions, you'll get files with not enough bleed room, or in RBG (files must be in CMYK for print), or in too low a resolution (300 dpi minimum). Any issues need to be caught, corrected, and all the files compiled for submission to the printer.

Don't forget postage. I mentioned this briefly earlier, but don't forget to account for packaging and shipping in your budget and time. Things like pins can make a slim package too thick and change the postage class. You'll need room in your house to hold the product. You'll want to pack things to ensure nothing's dented or bent. I highly recommend against having a shipping mod, unless it's someone you know and trust very much. I've seen too many projects fall apart because a shipping mod ghosted or stole all the materials or similar issues.

Have a backup plan. What will you do if you only get five people wanting to be contributors? What if you don't sell enough to cover your costs? What if you get bad product? What if you don't hit the MOQ of your chosen vendor, or if they announce a spontaneous price change before you get your order in? Have answers!

Be confident. If you're not used to leadership, it can be weird to have everyone looking to you, but if you've prepared, then there's no reason to be nervous. The people you work with will respond to your energy, so put out those good vibes.

I enjoyed making my zine very much, but also, it was still very much work! I discovered I hate marketing and graphic design, and love the technical bits of arranging the vendors and budgeting and handling the materials. I probably wouldn't go solo again, but I'm glad I did it at least once because it taught me the ins and outs of every aspect. A lot of people, for their first zine, do digital only because, needless to say, physical product is complicated!

I was just eating dinner and staring at the wall and I was like 'doesn't Lore have some crazy cool ocs??🤔🤔🤔' so I checked and was like 'omg Eva and AJ!!!'

May I get an info dump because I realise I know nothing about them? :]

AGAIN IM SO SORRY I TOOK SO LONG TO ANSWER I also wanted to draw something for this ask but have been Busy w other projects :,,,,,) I hope you know this ask has been a source of serotonin for like 2 weeks btw I get so excited thinking abt it THANK U SM

SO!! Those 2 are my Splatoon agent ocs -- Eva's 8, Aj's 3! I have some kinda out-there world building that ties into their story so. Bear with me SJFKSFMS

Aj was recruited as an agent at 17 and worked tirelessly to get his work done. They don't exactly. Enjoy it? She knows he's harming Octarian society, but the alternative is seeing Inkopolis invaded, so he feels pressured to keep going. They're pretty damn good at what they do -- she only ever took one injury, an incident where a sniper clipped their tentacle.

Cut to Eva! Back then, she was a bioengineer in the kettles named Niyana. She helped build the army -- Octarian soldiers were made with cloning tech and steroids, the latter of which was also used to buff octoling soldiers (which gives them green sclera). When Aj's tentacle was shot off, it was brought to her bioengineering team to make inkling clones for the war effort. There was a lot of trial and error, mostly error, and most attempts didn't survive long/suffered in a quickly degrading body. It wasn't long after the project started that Octavio was captured by the agents, and his replacement really cracked down on groups responsible for the creation + training of the army, which is why things were so rushed and clumsy. It was nearly 2 years into the endeavor that the 8th clone came out stable! Success, finally! Uuuuuntil that one's body started failing as well. There was an incident where they lashed out and attacked Eva, leaving her with her scar, before they finally succumbed to the physical degredation. While the steroids did accelerate growth, these clones were just kids as all this was happening. The attack snapped Eva out of her brainwashing and made her morally aware of just what they were doing. When the 9th clone remained stable and started training with hypnoshades, a very traumatic experience for the little guy, she took him and escaped octaria.

NOW BACK TO AJ. They were on patrol one day when they saw Eva in the canyon and went to investigate. They ended up falling into the metro, where they were succinctly given Juice That Makes You Forget by kamabo co. They wake up, receive their numbers -- 10008 and 10009 -- and start trying to escape the metro. Aj (9) is Way Better at combat than Eva (8), who's hardly touched a weapon, and carries the two of them through the trials. Eva is,,, conflicted about this 9 guy? She gets flashes of memories from looking at him that feel decidedly Unpleasant, but they haven't done anything to warrant her not trusting him. Their trustworthiness is soon proven tenfold when sanitized soldiers begin attacking the two of them outside of trials -- kamabo co doesn't want any stragglers, which Eva certainly is, and she's no longer safe at any point.

Idk exactly how the escape goes, but we do still end up with the sanitized agent 3 fight. Eva takes down the NILS and the day is saved!!! Wahoo!!!!

Aj has a uh. Rough Time recovering from all that. She does manage to recover almost all her memory, but being sanitized really fucked him up mentally. He completely quits agent work. Eva, meanwhile, remembers basically nothing about her past life (she ends up choosing a new name, that being Eva!). They've got a lot to work through, but things are Okay now, right...? Cue the entrance of Mini Aj

That's right baby!!!! Clone #9!!!! Marie found him wandering the canyon on his own, speaking in Octarian and incredibly dehydrated. Eva had hidden him when she saw Aj in the canyon the day they fell in the metro, and obviously she didn't exactly come back to get him. The kid was real sick, and Aj ended up taking him in after a big argument with Callie and Marie.

Things smooth out for the two of them from there. There's a ton to get adjusted to, but now they both have the room to process everything they've been through and focus on healing. The clone, now with the name Oliver, begins adjusting to his new life and gets on surprisingly well!!

There's some other characters that tie into their whole debacle, my agent 4 and his rival as well as ahato, BUT my internet connection is very spotty rn and I've already talked so much so I'm just posting this when I get the chance JDJFKDL again!! Thank you so much!!!
