hello library of lensa enjoyers and/or fans of d&d mechanics. beloved hollis @beatricexbenedick let us revamp our character sheets (narratively bc we’re going to be doing so much training next downtime session, metatextually bc a lot of us did Not build our characters well). and bc i love talking mechanics i wanted to go through what i did to my bestie nox <3
CLASS & LEVEL
before the revamp, nox was 5 levels divination wizard & 1 level rogue. this was not a good multiclass. it made sense narratively when we started, but nox as a character has changed so much since their inception that it barely makes narrative sense anymore, so i decided to scrap it and make nox a full div wizard. i played around with multiclassing him with something else, and i still might eventually, but nothing was really calling to me, and full wizard is also just. very fun. so for now they are 6 levels divination wizard!
ABILITY SCORES
this was the part i was most excited about, because i rolled the WORST stats for nox when we started. by the time he was level 6, they had 10 str, 13 dex, 13 con, 18 int, 10 wis, and 10 cha. it was truly abysmal. in our game, we roll stats by rolling 3 sets of 6d20 (rerolling below 5s), so his new stats are 11 str, 12 dex, 20 con, 20 int, 17 wis, and 9 cha. this also brought his hit points from 40 to 58.
FEAT AND ABILITIES
not much changed here, but i knew i was gonna miss having expertise, so i gave nox the skill expert feat, taking proficiency in arcana and expertise in investigation (hello +11). as a level 6, he also has the expert divination feature
SPELLS
there were a few spells i had taken towards the beginning of the campaign that i truly never used or found weren’t useful anymore that i was able to trade out. funnily enough, these were mostly cantrips: i traded true strike for mage hand, blade ward for green-flame blade, and minor illusion for mold earth. i also got to change out mage armor for catapult and melf’s acid arrows for cloud of daggers, as well as adding witch bolt and slow
there were a couple little things i did (realized i have an instrument proficiency, so i guess. nox plays the clarinet now 😭) but that’s the basics of it!! i love nox and i can’t wait to play him in their new era of being good <3

Thoughts on D&D alignments and BG3
Don't mind me, I just felt like spending my day off writing a philosophical essay about Baldur's Gate 3 and Dungeons & Dragons character alignments. I may or may not have been inspired by someone I admire here on tumblr. And by may, I mean yes, I was inspired by that. :) Everything that follows is my opinion as an experienced D&D player and dungeonmaster. My main motivations are being a 3.5 D&D nerd above all else, and wanting to educate others about a cool but misunderstood system in a game I love.
Respectful discussion and questions are highly encouraged! <3
Character Alignments in D&D
Alignments in older versions of D&D were much less about the morality of a character's choices, and more about the confluence of a character's values (good vs evil) and loyalties (law vs chaos). There is long-standing recognition among many D&D players that these alignments are merely guides to help you create a fully realized character and encourage good role-playing. Just as it is widely acknowledged that all characters are capable of changing and capable of surprising anyone when faced with a situation, even themselves. Flexibility is not only implied, but highly encouraged in response to an event, because it enriches role-playing. It also encourages creativity when you're making a truly unexpected character because that character still needs to make sense in the world they are in despite being rare or unique among their kind. For example, how would someone become a chaotic evil druid when typical druids are neither chaotic nor evil? How does that influence their actions and decisions as a druid? The potential for rich backstories and truly unique characters can multiply when thinking about a character in terms of their alignment. The broader concept of categorizing characters to better understand them isn't new or unique to D&D either. See also: Carl Jung's Archetypes.
Alignments are supposed to guide role-playing decisions, not dictate them or pass judgment on a character's worth. In D&D, players are not supposed to know the alignments of the other players' characters, and in fact alignments are often withheld from the dungeonmaster (DM) as well to limit meta-gaming. When your character's alignment can be revealed as a creative surprise to the whole table upon confrontation with a game mechanic that exposes you? That's fun. I heard fun is the point of games, idk.
Character Alignments and BG3
In the spirit of not making things fun, BG3 character alignments have become broadly associated with moral judgment of a character instead. Another mistake being made in the BG3 fandom over and over is the erroneous conflation that D&D 5.0 = all D&D ever. D&D 5.0 is D&D simplified and reworked to be more accessible to more players. This is a good thing at the end of the day, but resulted in a lot of difficulty imbalances, lost mechanics, and confusing remnants from the more robust versions of D&D. In the case of alignment, it should have been either included entirely or left out entirely. Instead it was left in name only, causing it to be often and easily misunderstood and misused.
Larian wisely left alignments off the character sheet in the game, and I'd like to think that was at least partly done out of reverence for D&D. It would take away from one of the most powerful experiences in BG3 that separates it from D&D: your choices, as the video game player, guiding and influencing ALL of the characters, not just the one you chose for yourself.
I consider the characters in BG3 to be well-written characters. Well-written characters are meant to be seen in multiple dimensions, and at best an alignment gives you 2. There will always be nuance in a complex, fully realized character that alignments just won't cover.
All alignments have two sides to them. The first side of an alignment is good, evil, or neutral, while the other side of an alignment is lawful, neutral, or chaotic. If both sides of their alignment are neutral, that character is considered a 'true neutral' (often simplified as neutral, sometimes referred to as neutral-neutral).
Good vs Evil in Alignments is Not a Value Judgment
The good vs. evil side of alignment is all about degrees, not about a character's worth. Anyone can be an asshole or an angel under the right circumstances. Good vs evil is about what they value most. A traditional argument for the meaning of goodness asserts that all killing/harming is evil, and therefore a truly good character would never harm anyone. On the opposite end, the simplified definition of evil is anyone who kills or harms others, regardless of their circumstances or motivations. These definitions are way too reductive and inflexible, and would be the worst framework for the good vs evil side of alignment. In D&D alignments, characters who fall along the good axis are primarily motivated by altruism no matter their loyalty. Characters that fall along the evil axis are most motivated by power no matter their loyalty. Neutral characters on the good vs evil side of alignment are most motivated by personal relationships.
What follows is my perspective on how alignments shake out for BG3 characters. For the sake of brevity, I provide either a single example or a short justification of why I think that character 'fits' within a given alignment only if needed. I also account for contexts where a character's alignment can change based on players' choices in BG3. This is presented along the law vs chaos side of alignment, rather than good vs. evil, to diminish moral knee-jerk reactions.
Chaotic Axis
Chaotic characters are not always actually chaotic by definition, nor are they selfish by definition. Characters in the chaotic axis are most loyal to personal autonomy rather than rules/duty (aka law).
Chaotic Good – places the highest value on freedom of choice. Different from personal choice, freedom of choice implies that all people should have liberty but not at the expense of the liberties of others. (Karlach's arc is largely driven by this.)
Chaotic Neutral – places the highest value on personal choice.(Astarion doesn't care if others' lives don't benefit from his personal gains. He won't commit an evil or altruistic act that would disrupt or compromise his ability to live how he wants to.)
Chaotic Evil – places the highest value on personal gain (Ascended Astarion, on the other hand, will harm or kill anyone to be and remain powerful, no matter the consequences. His romanced line about being two sovereigns when in reality you are subjugated by him is a good example of that shift in values. See also: Every devil in the game. Orin fits here in theory but her alignment is more chaotic stupid, which is a special circumstance I won't cover here.)
Neutral Axis
The neutral axis gets wacky, because true neutral is the only alignment where neutrality is typically the goal and neutral shows up on both sides of alignment. Neutrality is difficult if not impossible to maintain unless you're in a vacuum, and true neutral characters are the most difficult to role play correctly. It is rare that a true neutral character is presented in a way that makes them compelling and interesting. They are likely to read flat and/or as though they're missing something. This alignment isn't useless however, because true neutral alignment as something intentional and/or temporary allows for interesting characterizations not available to other alignments.
For neutral good or neutral evil characters, their neutral alignment is determined by them being most motivated by their values rather than their loyalties. For chaotic neutrals and lawful neutrals, the opposite is true: their loyalties come first.
Neutral Evil – places the highest value on total control. (The Emperor. The Netherbrain. Ketheric. Gortash. Don't feel like I need to explain these to anyone who has played through BG3.)
Neutral-Neutral (aka True Neutral) – all things are considered equally. They favor neither their loyalties nor their values when making decisions. Their typical actions neither directly harm nor directly help others. A character without specific motivations to maintain balance in all things (aka a true neutral that isn't a druid) is likely experiencing or has experienced something which prevents them from possessing strong convictions or values. (Shadowheart when you first meet her, literally only because she's missing chunks of her personality and nearly all of her personal history. Her attempts at conviction are shallow and unconvincing, and her values don't land consistently either. I'd put God of Ambition formerly known as Gale here too. He's not actively bringing harm or help to anyone. He's just kinda there, soaking in worship while being really detached, uninteresting, and uninvolved, as any god would be.)
Neutral Good – places the highest value on kindness/compassion for others. (Gale. How outraged Halsin is at the state of the refugee crisis in Baldur's Gate. Jaheira allying with the Astral Prism gang once she realizes they're on the same side, despite misgivings about them being infected. Selunite Shadowheart.)
Lawful Axis
The meaning of 'law' in the law vs chaos side of alignment is extremely flexible: duty, order, honor, justice, tradition, and rules, are all considered law. The lawful axis is for characters who place law first, above their values. The type of law is not necessarily indicative of the good vs evil side of their alignment, but there is a certain amount of boxing in that can take place. If the character's highest priority is fulfilling duties for an evil god, for example, they're lawful evil, period.
Lawful Evil – places the highest value on attaining and maintaining 'rightful' power. (Minthara embodies the lawful evil paladin archetype pretty fully. She has a malevolent sense of justice. See also: Dark Justiciar Shadowheart, Vlaakith's Zealot Lae'zel.)
Lawful Neutral – places the highest value on upholding law (Lae'zel. Duty is everything to her.)
Lawful Good – places the highest value on benevolent justice (Minsc and Wyll, always kicking ass for good and willing to sacrifice for it too. Killing may be an unfortunate side effect, but the values of lives are respected.)

These are just examples, of course. There are many characterizations in which you can argue for an alignment where the standard description I provide here wouldn't apply. That is part of the fun of debating character alignments and thinking critically about what motivates the decisions of characters. As a creative tool, character alignment has value outside of the game as well. It facilitates that difficult process fan fiction writers go through of not being the original writer while trying to determine how a character would react, what they would do, and what they would say. Writers who can see characters in three dimensions are capable of expanding on any existing well-written universe with believable canon and stories. Spamton is already overheating when you’re just fiddling with his pants.
He’s not panting or wheezing, instead, the loud whirring of a fan fills the room. The sides of his shirt have billowed out under the force of the air, and he’s shaking so hard you can hear his teeth clacking together. Right underneath your hand, what you’re assuming is his cock is writhing restlessly. You slowly start to speak.
“Are you�� Sure you want to do this? If you’re not ready yet, that’s fine.” He shakes his head vigorously. Even as he stops moving, his nose is still moving a little until he slaps a hand down to stop it.
“YES! YES!! YES!!! IF YOU STOPPED NOW YOU’D BE [Killing] ME! PLEASE DONT. [Hyperlink Blocked] FROM A HOTSINGLE… HAHAHAHA!” At the violent burst of laughter that has his body convulsing, you swear you can hear a jet of steam exiting his body. You’re getting worried he might explode.
“I thought we agreed I wasn’t a ‘hotsingle’ anymore, just hot.” You speak to distract him momentarily from your touches and, for a moment, his eyes roll violently in their sockets.
“!!!” Spamton’s gaze focuses back on you, pupils blown wide with a heart jumping up and down inside it. “DONT SWEAT THE DETAILS, T00TS! WE STILL HAVE OUR [Specil Deal], DONT WORRY!”
In the meantime, his cock has gotten so twitchy that it’s wriggled its way up the hem of his pants all on its own. With a slight tug at the fabric, it slips out and slaps against your hand with a squelch. It’s not really a dick. Rather, it’s more like a twin set of dark tentacles, extending from a slit on the lower half of his body. They’re twitching violently and leaving dark smears all over the top of your hand.
As you wrap your hand around his tentacles, you press your mouth against his. Kissing Spamton could be described as unconventional at best, considering he has no lips to speak of. But while his teeth are cold, they’re not exactly uncomfortable. You both like the closeness, so you do it. (Though after he nearly stabbed your eye out with his nose once, he always lets you know when he wants a kiss, or lets you initiate.)
“[%@^#]!” He curses as your hand glides effortlessly up and down his slick shafts, jacking him off at a pace that makes your wrist ache. “P PL PLEASE–”
“I won’t stop, promise. You’re doing so well,” You press a kiss to his cheek. “You’re such a big guy,” Another. “The best, and–” Another, to his mouth this time. “Looking so good for me right now.” Spamton makes an absolutely indescribable noise at your praise, his teeth grinding together with the screech of metal on metal. He throws his head back and forth, glitching uncontrollably, but you never stop moving or speaking. For your own safety though, you move your head back. Keeping him still would be impossible, and trying to force him to would only be painful for him.
Not to mention… It’s a thrill to have him completely lose control, from your hand alone.
“I’m so glad you’re letting me make you feel good,” You lower your voice, and wonder if he can even hear you over the noises his own body is making. “I wanna do my best for you. Because that’s what you deserve, right? The best for the best. You’re such a pretty boy.” One of his tentacles curls itself around your wrist and slides up and down along, following your movements, while the other remaining in between your fingers.
“OhhHHHHH YE SYES YES YES [Desperate]--” He cries out your name, pressing himself as close to you as he can. “CUT ME LOOSE CUT ME LOOSE MEMEME!!! [Angel]!!!” Before you have time to think about the phrasing, he cums all over your hand and makes the noise of twenty Windows error messages popping up all at once, before collapsing against you.
You rub his back, deciding that if he isn't up within a minute, you'll get something cold for him. His whole body is burning up. Against your expectations though, a jolt shoots through his body. Eyes filled with static look right past you. “...please…” His voice doesn’t sound tinny like it usually does, and there’s no other distortions either.
Spamton slumps again, and you don’t know what to think.

AAAAAHHH i didn't expect you to actually write something for it so omg thank you for the snippet! ❤️ i hope this was the trigger event that got wild on the course for proper treatment but OUCH. What a way for everyone else to find out about his previous injuries. And i hope that if anyone else was involved in the collision, that they're ok - for wild's sake, as i imagine the guilt would eat him up 😭
I love hyrule so much and hate (love) the fact he was the first to know this patient was one of the boys. It must have been so scary to stay professional but i bet he managed it if he was needed. I think of him (based on what you've written so far) as the kind of person to not shut down all his feelings in order to get on with the job, but that he just manages to reign it in enough to do what he needs to do, and maybe even his emotions actually help him. Like they kick him into high gear quick response mode and fuel his determination to do everything he can to save someone. Everyone has different coping mechanisms but he strikes me as the type to not repress, but make feelings useful. So then he emotionally crashes immediately after events rather than it being something that hits later. idk if this rings true to your feelings on him but i loved seeing him in this snippet and can't wait to see him more and the other's reactions too, if you ever add on more to that scenario!
(And hey, on that - i get so excited about even fragments of writing and i know others feel the same, so don't feel you have to make one cohesive chronological fic with all the gaps filled in. Just peering through the cracks at individual events is great especially as we know a loose timeline of when things happen. Jump around between past and present, it's cool! Be kind to yourself please, you're doing great!) 🌕

It's definitely the trigger that gets them to realize Wild's "not right in the head, you ding dong what's wrong with you" antics are more serious than they thought. Which leads to investigating. Which leads to a certain surgeon remembering a certain patient. Ahem.
I love your take on Hyrule! That fits with the vibe I get from him. :D As you said, everyone copes differently! Legend copes with sarcasm and a tough exterior, not letting anything bother him. Wars copes by shutting off emotions to address later. Sky copes by not even registering that it's bothering him through sheer mental avoidance. Just to name a few. But Hyrule can absolutely use his emotions to push himself and be more determined than ever, even if it leaves him drained like he just ran a mental marathon afterward.
I'll eventually write this, it's definitely on the list of Plot Things That Will Eventually Happen! Alongside the rest of Sky's Crappy War Angst, Wars' Trip with PTSD, Cia Shenanigans, Legend's Darkest Secret, Sky Gets Sick and Gives Time a Heart Attack, and other highlights. :D

We're going to try to talk/answer any of your questions or theories without spoiling anything we have planned but firstly! You should definitely listen to The Magnus Archives it's such a good podcast. You don't have to worry about our fic containing spoilers for any of the events in the podcast (to my knowledge, at least. Anyone is free to correct me).

1) Our main reason for having him wait a day before respawning was so THIS MAN COULD SLEEP. This man hasn't had a proper 8 hours of sleep in weeks at this point and needed the rest. The Universe spoke and said he needs to sleep.
2) We're actually going to start to explore people dying in the next chapter and we are VERY very exciting to start on that. What I think will be funny even going forward is seeing how terrified Jon is of seeing people die verse how laid back the hermits are about it. Cause realistically this is what, their ninth season so I'd say they're pretty desensitized to it.
3) I think about his reaction to Doc a lot cuz here comes this shirtless creeper goat cyborg with crocs. IT'S JUST TOO PERFECT. We haven't pin pointed when we're going to introduce the two but when we do it's going to be so much fun to write.
4) Cub <3 <3 <3 So far Cub has been our favorite hermit to write cuz he's just so chill. He could say the most out there sentence and you'll be looking at him and he's just got a blank expression. You'll look at him like did you not just hear what came out of your mouth and he'll look like he's said nothing wrong. Love his guy
5) It's just a few things we think about the difference between hermits and non hermits. For hermits mining for resources is an (at least) a once a week things. Non hermits haven't needed to mine for resources by hand since what, since heavy machinery was introduced on the scene. So it's not something they think about unless their job is to mine for those resources / work those heavy machines.
6) I wouldn't say it's foreshadowing but mainly a light jab at Jon cuz maybe he looks like the kind of guy who you'd give him simply directions and he still gets lost.
(We are those people. Driving downtown is confusing even with a gps)
But yes, maybe Jon does have an encounter with some mobs later on. Who's to say? Hehe.
Anyways, I'm super glad that you've been enjoying our fic so far! Super exciting to get back to writing it more often now that we have a lot more free time.

This was a bit difficult for me tbh since I wasn’t really productive writing-vise last year (except for the SarahBucky month but I can’t claim that those drabbles are any good), I actually mostly focused on making boards but eh, I tried…
1. This IronFalcon moodboard
I made this one quite early while I was still experimenting with boards—I found that making boards is a really fun way to engage with fandom which doesn’t require as much time as writing does and is not even half as nerve-wracking as writing is (I say as if I hadn’t a bunch of meltdowns bc of my boards already lmao); I can just… shut my brain off for a few hours while still creating something. And I made this board while I was still in the learning stage, still figuring all features out, still experimenting with everything, and I am incredibly proud how this one came out in the end. How the colors fit, and how the lighting flows perfectly. How Sam and Tony seem to face each other and just how pretty it looks like. I would know to make it even better today, but it is already a pretty damn gorgeous board the way it is. I’m still planning on adding a little ficlet to it since no one else did that for me. How do you look at this board and don’t instantly feel inspired to write me a fic???? Shame on y’all, gotta do everything myself… :P
2. Call of the Woods
The board—the accompanying drabble is okay I guess, I’ve written worse, but it’s the board I mean here. At the point I made this one I thought I already knew all features on the app I use, but making this one showed me that I still had more options than I thought. I experimented with the colors a lot (it’s fantasy, so it allowed me lots of freedom to experiment as much and as extreme as I wanted to), and not only did that help me improve my board making skills even more (all of the boards that I made afterwards are some of my very best ones’), but also did the end result come out fucking gorgeous. It’s truly a fantastical board, literally not a single image looks like it originally did (you even wouldn’t recognize the last one anymore lol) bc I worked on it until perfection. And damn am I proud of how it came out.
3. Secret Kisses and Stolen Hugs
The ending of this one is a bit wonky which I’m still annoyed about, but otherwise? Idk, I wrote this one in a total haze, it practically wrote itself. And considering I didn’t even plan to write for that prompt at all, I sure ended up writing a whole lot. I just really like how I wrote Sarah here and how I wrote Sarah and Bucky. It started as something fun and silly, but then I ended up digging a bit into who they are and who they are with each other. It’s no deep analysis or the sorts (lol) but I really like that bit that I added. And I love their dynamic in the kitchen towards the end. The fic is just… sweet. Funny and sweet. And I really like re-reading it, it’s my best SarahBucky fic for sure.
4. The Booty and the Mechanic
Both, the board and the fic. The board was a total bitch to make and cost me way too many nerves, but I am so proud how I managed to make all the images work together in the end. And the fic wasn’t even planned, but it just happened and I like what happened there. It’s just something short and silly, but I had fun writing it and I have fun re-reading it. It focuses on two of my favorite things: writing a grumpy character, which is perfect for me because I’m a cranky-ass bitch all the time, and Tony’s ass. I think I described Tony’s ass wonderfully here, okay. It’s a great ass fic, thank you :D
5. Cool Beans
Look, I am aware that the fic isn’t very good. (The board is gorgeous tho, that one deserves love.) I’d actually call it one of my worst fics I’ve written in the past few years lol. So I can’t say that I’m proud of the fic itself, but what I am proud of is that was able to write this ficlet completely utterly carefree. I wrote what I wanted to write and that was it. Even though I can exactly point out the wonky parts, can tell which parts need something added or removed, and I know I could write it better if I just spent some more hours on it. But I didn’t because I simply didn’t want to. I only wrote the parts I wanted to see written, posted it and didn’t look back. That’s not something I’ve been able to do in years; I usually fuss over a fic until I am at a point I know I can’t do it better even if I’m still not happy. Here though? Here I just… let it be. Will I ever re-read this ficlet? Probably not, no. But it’s a pretty damn awesome feeling to just post without any further fussing, and I love that for me :)

Either! I totally don’t mind. You can call me Beloved, Poison, Rose, or even V. (V is part of my true first name but I prefer my middle one of Rose) but yeah call me Bitch if you wanna, I’ll answer to ALMOST anything. I’m really not bothered. lol
2.) Where are you from?
England! Give me tea or give me death! XD No I’d actually prefer coffee but shhhhhh don’t tell the other Brits that, they’ll kick me out! :D
3.) Do you have pets? 👀
Yup! Just the one currently. My Burmese/Korat mix, SilverBullet or just Bullet.
4.) Tell us about your “dream”.
Uhhhh honestly it’s just to have a small house, a couple of Staffordshire Bull Terriers (English Staffies) and live happily with my partner and our spawnling. I don’t have big dreams, just Staffy sized ones. lol
5.) Aside from art, what are your hobbies?
Well I don’t really do ART as such but most of my hobbies are artistic in nature I guess? Photography, collecting Asian Ball Jointed Dolls and 1/6th Action Figures/Poseble figures, Writing (both original stories and fanfiction sometimes), anything to do with computers.
6. )Does anyone irl know about your blog?
Sure. My partner, my spawnling, I don’t really share it with anyone else because they just wouldn’t be interested/understand but that’s fine with me!
7.)Do you know anyone from your blog irl?
Sadly not. There are some truly awesome people that I would love to know irl if that were ever possible though.
8.) What are some fun facts about you?
uhhhh I mostly only have things I’ve already shared a long time ago or on my old blog but um... trained car mechanic, also trained child minder, I was 16 when I got my first tattoo (yes this IS illegal, behave kids don’t be a dumbass like me! seriously DON’T EVER do this!) I have 8 piercings and I want more, I’m dyslexic and also slightly ambidextrous and I have monkey feet as my partner calls them. I’m fairly good at picking things up with my feet. lol
9.) What’s your day job?
Currently I uh... actually don’t have one. I’m watching over my partner who’s mentally unwell and unable to work himself.
10.) Do you have a celebrity look alike?
Nope. Don’t think so. I kinda used to get compared to Lucy Lawless aka Xena the Warrior Princess when I was younger and honestly I am DOWN with that! (though I know I never actually looked anything like her, my mum kinda did but I look more like my dad soooo lol)
11.) What’s your aesthetic?
Uh I’ve always been told it’s a little bit goth, a little bit punk, a whole lot of black, silver and resting witch face. ;)
12.) What kind of artist are you?
Digital and an editor? idk honestly, like I use photoshop and my digital drawing pad to make small changes to my photography/sims pics/colour peoples linearts when they let me but does that make me an actual artist of any kind? lol But also idk does writing count? It’s a form of art in a way so...
13.) How did you get into your form of art?
Since it’s mostly all photography or to do with photography (taking sims pics kinda counts as that really) uh basically my sister and brother-in-law are both heavily into photography and so was my father-in-law (RIP Dad <3) and I just sorta picked it up from all of them? I learned a few things and just picked up the bug and then it evolved into digital editing and then attempting digital art/colouring and just yeah it all spiraled into whatever this is.
as for the writing, well I watched Inuyasha and Naruto a long, long time ago and fell in love with the characters and stuff and somehow stumbled upon fanfiction and I was like Ooooooooo! I can write shit like this?! and uh I just started getting into various fandoms from there and writing all these stories based on them, the characters from them or just the basic worlds they take place in and so yeah it just went from there.
14.) What do you watch/listen/read/anything else while you create?
Usually I have either true crime programs or else fictional crime programs on as background noise. Things I’ve watched a million times before. I need background noise, can’t do silence. OR I have music on. a random playlist filled with a mixture of rock, metal, dance, trance and pop on shuffle usually.
15.) What is your favorite of your own creations so far?
Oh damn uh honestly it’s probably a threeway tie between this, this and this
I’m rarely actually proud of anything I produce but I usually kinda like it, these ones though, I still adore.
16.) How would you describe your art style?
Shit, no idea dude. Like style? who that?! I don’t know her. I basically don’t feel I have a style, not for this anyway. Just, I do whatever style is needed for the pic I’m trying to make. Sorry I honestly have no clue.
17.) What is more satisfying to you coloring or outlining?
colouring. I can’t draw for toffee, like at all so it’s defo colouring BUT I also can’t shade for jack either. so yeah idk.
18.) What meme would you use to describe yourself?
This one! It’s completely me. Honestly I know memes but I could not for the life of me think of a single one. Just happened across this one and went oh hi yeah that me! lol
19.) What character from any media form do you most identify with?
Uhhhh I never really thought about this tbh. I guess Kakashi from Naruto or Hermione from HP because well always reading! and I’m known as the human dictionary and also the human library so it kinda makes sense. But also The Hulk from Marvel. Cause well, ‘That’s my secret Captain, I’m always angry.’
20.) If you were on the run, what would you change your name to?
Axel or Cooper probably. idk very masculine names I know but most of the time that’s just me.
21.) Have you ever or do you want to change blog names?
Um yeah I kinda wanna actually. I picked this one because well hi I’m BelovedPoison and I do sims stuff. But it just sounds so stupid and meh now but I literally have no idea what cool or funny name to call myself. Sooooo we stuck here for now. lol
22.) God forbid Tumblr decides to pull a MySpace and lets us have page songs, what song would you choose?
Oh jeeze uh I have no idea honestly. Probably one of the songs that always scream Sarge, my oldest OC’s theme songs to me. Either I Stand Alone or I Fucking Hate You by Godsmack. #sorrynotsorry!

Handwriting Headcanons
but let’s make this a bit more fun!! I’ll be doing just the first three!! Try to guess which handwriting belongs to each Link and tell me how many you got right before reading! <3
I want to make clear that I use the Latin alphabet in here for sake of simplicity,and because I don’t know how to create my own fonts yet :’).and that these are just their equivalent of Hylian handwriting. I don’t know much about Hylian, but I like to think it has a similar stroke system to Japanese, so the pressure and accuracy of your strokes play a major role in your handwriting (among other things, ofc.)

Our first boy is mother hen! Believe it or not, he has the prettiest handwriting out of all of them! Sky: probably has nice, even elegant handwriting because Sun forced him to practice when they were little. In the end, that paid off because his handwriting is the prettiest one. Mistakes? what is that? this boy has impeccable grammar and spelling. No mechanic errors to be found in his letters! This is what one of his letters would look like:

2. Time
I’ll die on the “Time didn’t know how to read and write” hill.
His handwriting is simple, not pretty but not messy. It has some grammar and spelling mistakes here and there. Can become unreadable if writing in a hurry, he sorts of forgets spaces between words are a thing/letters have different sizes and lowercase letters end up the same size as capital letters. I’m not saying he sometimes forgets to write articles: he just doesn’t want to. Honestly, he just has this dad-neat handwriting. Malon taught him how to write and it was quite the experience. At first he didn’t want to because he was ‘too old’ to learn and it was torture at first, but now look at him devouring his cowboy novels. A chunk of his handwriting:

3. my mansss, your 4x1 deal at Target: Four
Look, my boy is patient! He could do some nice and fancy lettering if he wanted to. He was taught that handwriting and spelling said a whole lot about him as a person, you know, like a first impression kinda thing; so he always proof reads more than twice before sending a letter. Super rare grammar mistakes.The faster he writes, the more slant his writing becomes. Under stress/ when not sure how to write things down, run-on sentences are everywhere and his handwriting is inconsistent in general (I don’t headcanon each part of him having completely different handwriting because handwriting becomes muscle memory over time. It’s just slightly different variations of the same, like idk Vio’s handwriting is neater than Green’s and Red writes hearts instead of any dot/circle and no, I do not take constructive criticism on that, jk i do.) HOWEVER, I’m if I’m feeling in the mood for crack, I totally accept this boy to have the ugliest, chicken scratches-looking handwriting! :’D It’s just funny to think that someone like him, who has to be precise and careful in his work, can't write neatly to save his life. Imma just gush about my month of Wizard101 and how I finally got to a close “end” of the game.
24/12 Edit: Fixed some typos here and there and added some stuff.
07/09 Edit: KI decided to fully revamp Wiz city also changing some lore so the rating on that is outdated. Might also put my thought of the new Wiz City there once I’m through all the new content.
Arc 1 - Malistaire - 10/10
Prob my favourite.
The writing really ties in every world, even when you speedquest through it.
Contains a lot of my favourite worlds.
I’m still crying over Mali to this day...

Literally the introduction to the game and the place I spent most of my time in when I was a crownless and membershipless young wizard.

I only pushed through this for the concepts of Mirage and Polaris and wanted to see where Grandpappy Spider went

under the cut because i expect it’ll get very long <3 :) update after i finished writing: it is, in fact, very long and also took me over an hour. so. take that as whatever sort of warning you might want.
let’s start with margot !
she was born to a couple of really young parents who..... did not want to be parents. at all. they were still in the party-and-get-drunk phase of their life and didn’t want to have a kid to worry about, so a large part of her childhood was spent couch surfing between relatives, mostly her grandfather.
they were really close! he would help her with her homework, they would cook together, he would let her drink underage so that she was well-versed in beer by the time she was like. idk. 16 lol. but she felt closer to him than her own parents, who were good when they were around but. they mostly weren’t around <3
when she was 19, her grandpa starting showing pretty serious signs of memory loss and whatnot and eventually had to be moved into a home. she was living with him by that point, so she had to continue to spend a year or so of her adult life couchsurfing. it didn’t help that she was in school full-time to get an engineering degree of. some kind. i think mechanical engineering. idk. and didn’t have a job, so to pay back her roommates she took up a majority of the housework as well as picked up odd jobs on the weekend. her grandpa’s health continued to decline through this time so she didn’t actually mind being busy because then she. didn’t have to think about it at all <3
and then.............. when she was 20......... her boyfriend of a year suggested that she not only move in with him but that they get married and margot, who has never had stability ever in her life, jumped at the opportunity !
after she graduated, she found it incredibly hard to find a career (even though they were in the same program and He had no trouble finding one), so she was back to not working but her husband didn’t mind and he supported her whole-heartedly. during this time she started running and then eventually started going to a gym with a couple of her female friends from their neighbourhood! she would also spend a lot of time at her grandpa’s but his health was still rapidly declining. eventually her now-husband said that she should probably stop visiting him and margot was like “.... ok i guess”
And then. :)
she kept spending time outside of the house and started taking self-defense classes with a few of her friends and her husband was started to get very antsy. he wanted her to be at home, told her that he didn’t like her going out at night or, eventually, at all, and would find ways to keep her home every night so she didn’t go out. during this time he also started getting. um. very manipulative. he was easily triggered into starting arguments. so she increased the frequency of her self-defense classes and, eventually, they became Very Useful in an argument with her husband. so. we hate him :)
after that she filed for a divorce, moved away and changed her name to her late grandmother’s last name. she started working at a gym in her new town and eventually decided to open her own ! she had gotten the building about 2-3 weeks before the outbreak hit and didn’t have any furniture or equipment of any kind, so she met up with 2 middle-aged women from her old gym and they travelled together until one of them was bitten in a fight with walkers and dragged into a big crowd of them to be eaten and the other one was bitten and margot had to shoot her when she got zombified and tried to attack. :(
that’s where i have left off for now but i am going to develop her More the more i watch the show !!!
okay. backstory over. now for the fun bits:
her faceclaim is mackenzie davis specifically in terminator (without the. lines on her arms and whatever idk what those are) and this picture is the most margot-vibe imaginable.
the haircut was an incredibly recent choice but it came in handy during the outbreak because she didn’t have to worry about keeping hair out of her face. girlboss !
she is 6′2 :) her and her husband were funnily enough the 2 tallest people in her graduating class
she spoke occasionally to her parents after graduating and moving away but they fell out of touch a year or so before the outbreak began and she......................... unsurprisingly doesn’t miss them at all
she has 1 keepsake and it’s an old keychain of her grandpa’s and if anything happens to it. she will kill everyone in any room and Then herself !!!
she likes to where tank tops to show off her big arms. is this very ergonomical in the apocalypse where zombie bites can kill you instantly ? nope! will she do it anyway to intimidate people ? yup!
she Cannot cook. at all. she lived off of take-out and microwavable meals for the first 20 years of her life and then she always had someone else making food for her until she moved away on her own when it was back to takeout.
on the topic of food :) her fave foods are mac and cheese with breadcrumbs and meatlover’s pizza !
she will do literally anything for a good beer. anything. she keeps an eye out for them every time she goes scavenging in buildings and will try to get at least 1 bottle per trip. girlboss !
she cannot sing. in fact she’s not just average, she’s Terrible. she can, however, play mad guitar because her grandpa taught her.
now onto miss lila :)
she was born in a town a couple over from rick’s and was the younger sister of 2 ! she had a really great family and a very very happy childhood :) her dad was a wildlife rehabilitator and her mom was a landscaper who took a lot of pride in their nice big backyard and garden and Land where they. you know. rehabiliated the wildlife and what not
she worked a lot with her dad and mom at their wildlife centre and also helped her mom garden a lot (their house was on the same property as the centre so it was a nice big plot of land). she took a lot of interest in rehabilitating animals and it sparked a very early childhood interest in Caring for things (namely little wild critters) which extended to her helping out little kids on the playground when they got scraped knees and things. she always had a package of bandaids in her backpack from second grade on. an angel <3
in her final year of high school she had a very quick fling with a boy from her high school that ended… poorly. and then she got pregnant! which she. Did not expect. nor want. nor need in her life because she was planning on moving to atlanta to go to medical school and kickstart her career. her sister, who had recently dropped out of school and lost her job, decided to Take One for the team and claim the baby as hers so lila could go to medical school and stuff. their parents promised to take good care of her and they all made a plan to hide lila’s pregnancy from their town (although i’m sure literally everyone knows anyway) and then she moved away in the summer after giving birth to go to school
she quickly finished up her nursing program but was out of job for a few years until she got a job offer to be the nurse at king county elementary school aka the school were one Carl Grimes goes to school. she moved there in may and one night, when her car Squealed to a stop in front of a dog who had run away from his home and was being chased by. Um. a certain sheriff’s deputy who was intending on bringing the puppy back home <3 they got to talking and. Well. the rest is history…..
she was a very beloved member of the staff and kids would often fake sick just to come to her office and get a sucker and she grew esp close to the grimes family :D after a couple of years living in king county she got a job to start working at some fancy prep school in atlanta and decided that actually she might want to. You know. start being a mom now that she was finished with school and had a career. so she moved away from king county at the end of the next school year and was unfortunately in atlanta when it was bombed by the government at the start of the outbreak so she and her daughter and sister all died :) and that’s that !
some fun facts because that was a very depressing end to her story:
she always has suckers in her office at school and her favourites are the watermelon ones.
she can often be found gardening in her backyard or watching the birds in the trees like a little nature baby !!!
she is very meticulous about planning. she Does have a daily agenda. she Will kill you if you touch it. shane likes to leave her little notes in it for her to find when she’s at school. sometimes they are not Just cute. she usually erases those.
she likes collecting ugly thrift store paintings of animals and hangs them up in her dining room and she Does think they are incredibly funny.
she is a vegetarian !!! very unwavering about it. shane finds it annoying because he’s good at cooking steak but she just has a salad and then they’re both perfectly happy <3
sends basically everyone she knows a Christmas/holiday card every year. even the teachers at the elementary school who don’t like her and or barely talk to her !!!
she is a terrible maker of tea and usually forgets about cups before she’s even halfway through them (thank god for her). makes everyone tea when they come over except shane (stupid ass) because he doesn’t like it and usually people just politely swallow it even though it’s too steeped or. sorry idk how tea works. she just Makes It Bad ok
she perpetually forgets to do laundry. Most of her non-scrubs have dirt stains or dressing stains or whatnot (except for her Really nice clothes) which is why she tries to buy a lot of patterns. makes things easier to hide <3

inspired by @honeybabydichotomy some time back / me wildly needing a series of small brain breaks from trying to plan this remote lesson while sleep deprived because i simply could not fall back asleep after 3:15 this morning and my brain is feeling A Wee Bit Totally Deranged, here is my vague/wishy-washy to-write list!
things you can more or less properly call WIPs:
*the story i am actively working on right now, in which eliot & quentin take a miserable vacation together and i attempt to set a world record for number of words devoted to cultivating the precise emotion of Agonized Horniness. i thought that this was going to be short and it is definitely going to be well over 20k, big lol @ me for wildly underestimating the quantity of feelings i had about eliot waugh! but actually i am having extreme amounts of fun with this deeply self-indulgent project, which has both let me try out some things that feel new for me and also unexpectedly become very personal but not at all in the way i usually mean when i say that a story is very personal, to the extent that not only am i not (as i usually am by this point in a fic) incredibly impatient to finish it, but also i am a little sad at the prospect of no longer living with it in my head all the time! i have superstitiously grounded myself from posting any more snippets of it but taken as a set i think these do capture the vibe.
*a quick & slightly goofy resurrection fic set as a kind of episode tag for 5x03 set in an alternate universe where the “plot” of season 5 is not really happening but alice and eliot still wind up on the top of grief mountain. my motivation for this one decreased as season 5 continued to be Like That to the point of erasing any desire to keep anything from it in my personal magicians canon, but i like the central conceit which involves rewriting alice’s golem spell as a collaborative spell because i’m a sucker for any and all pieces coming together imagery, and also i feel like for me personally actually succeeding in writing something light and breezy would be a really instructive and cool learning experience!
*i am too bashful to publicly describe the last item on this list and may yet prove to be too bashful to ever finish it but it started out as me trying to imagine a conversation in which quentin tells eliot about Ye Olde Sex Magic Escapade and has sort of evolved into like me thinking a lot about eliot’s ability to trust himself? trying to find the right tone/voice for this one has been a beast largely because quentin turning 800 shades of red while he explains to eliot that a stranger had to give him advice about how to give his girlfriend the orgasms he didn’t know she wasn’t having is the funniest thing in the entire world to both me and eliot, but then every other Concept i have for it is, you know, not so much. i would like to persevere though for precisely the reason i am so bashful about it, which is that i am interested in trying to do what like 80% of people into fic do several times a year, namely write a story that moves through characterization & emotional beats mostly through the mechanism of Doing It.
wisps of half-assed notions floating idly in my brain which may or may not ever result in any actual writing:
*i have two vague epilogue/coda notions for wild geese. one is that i’d like to just check in on that version of quentin a few months later and get to see him feeling like a functional person and enjoying & reflecting on the novelty of that, learning to lean in a little more to who he is and what he wants, possibly via [redacted for reasons of bashfulness], possibly just further toying with the hugely entertaining to me notion that one lingering side effect of his death/undeath is that he suddenly becomes a foodie. or he gets into, i dunno, kickboxing. just very Wow I Have A Body times. the other idea is that i am charmed by the notion of quentin and julia getting a brakebills grant to do summer fieldwork at a hedge coven/hippie commune in like maine or something, both because i like the idea of q & j getting to have a fun low-stakes magic adventure together (they deserve it!!!) and because i’m amused by the extent to which julia would be like “this is an extremely fun way to spend exactly 2 months of my life after which i would fully go out of my mind” while quentin is like “idk maybe i do want to join a hedge commune? i wonder if eliot would be into it.” also q & e writing interdimensionally transmitted letters!
*some.... thing... about julia and eliot becoming friends, either like a snapshot of them bonding while trying to resurrect q, or else a post-resurrection fic where the process was very quick so they never really bonded but now that eliot and quentin are dating julia just shows up one day like “hello eliot who is dating my best friend and therefore also my best friend now! :D” and eliot’s like “wait what now” because he’s so used to imperiously friend-seducing people in the weirdest way possible that julia texting him a link to showing of john waters shorts at metrograph is not something he knows how to process
*some... thing... about alice figuring out how to Be Okay after quentin undeads and they break up. she gets really into some niche hobby or takes herself to some scenic location and hates it or finally tries pot. shit, maybe i am accidentally talking myself into casually shipping alice/josh. but also maybe she doesn’t hook up with anyone? maybe she gets to just have... a... friend? (kady?)
*the night of the s5 finale what i really wanted more than anything was some kind of wildly, exuberantly happy ending for eliot and the mechanism for that which popped into my head was an old school kinda 5-times-ish fic centered around a series of new year’s eves. (1) yes i have written this exact conceit before (2) yes this was partly influenced by the fact that new year’s day by taylor swift REMAINS the eliot love song of all time and “i want your midnights / but i’ll be cleaning up bottles with you on new year’s day” is still the most infuriatingly perfect description of eliot in love humanly conceivable. the heart wants what it wants.
*something exploring my vague headcanon that quentin and julia absolutely accidentally did magic as kids but it was always in the structure of being dreamy kids playing at magic and half-convincing themselves in that dreamy-kid way it was real, so that when later they outgrew that they also mentally filed those experiences away as playing pretend with great intensity.
*some............... thing........... involving present day post-s4 (alive) quentin and arielle’s... grave? great-grandchild? i dunno man, like, teddy never existed without quentin going back in time, but arielle was presumably a real person and not some weird quest-generated cipher, and i just can’t imagine that a version of quentin who remembers even as much as her name and that they were married has access to fillory and some free time and doesn’t try to figure out what did happen to her. or, like, eliot comes across someone in a familiar town with familiar eyes and is like, q i think there is someone you maybe have to see. for most of my half-assed notions i would probably be almost as happy to read a fic that already exists instead of writing it myself but for this one in particular if anyone has read one please do send it my way. it just feels like an odd gap to read so many fics where quentin and eliot are thinking about The Mosaic and Their Family and not at all interested in the branch of that family that like, concretely in this timeline lived. in my brain this is NOT a depressing story but it is admittedly hard to see how that would work out in practice.
*as you can tell from this list i am not generally a big AU person in terms of writing, because by the time i’ve exhausted the things poking at me from canon to resolve or play around with i have historically lost my stamina for that fandom. BUT, the one gratuitously self-indulgent non-magic AU i want in the world is one where quentin and alice were college sweethearts who got married at 23 and divorced six months later and quentin reacted to this by deciding that love/joy/hope/happiness/dreams are for children and stupid people, and now it’s like... 6-10 years later idk and quentin is “fine” in that he shows up to work on time and pays his bills on time and doesn’t often feel sad but lives a very small life in which he doesn’t often feel much of anything or have much of a connection to himself or other people, enter of course eliot having gone through some Rough Times but eventually turned a corner towards getting his shit together and whose joie de vivre / general hotness / open-hearted affection shakes things up in ways that are both thrilling and totally horrifying!

*on december 28, 2019, i started a google doc titled “magicians underworld breakout fic” which i have sporadically been adding notes towards ever since, inspired mostly by how much i think it was a missed opportunity to never have quentin and penny come to any kind of mutual understanding of each other (or even of their own reactions to each other!) except via fake pod person underworld nonsense, and how potentially fun it would be for them to team up to make it back to life. it currently contains just under 3600 words, but they are exclusively things such as:
hades and the underworld library? hades and the whole library? what’s cool about god motivations is they are almost definitionally stupid
or:
They have been taught certain things and those things are lies - connecting to how Margo got her axes
similar to #3 on the WIP list above, the reason i may never write this is the same as the reason i very much want to actually write this, which is that it is by necessity very plotty, something i have never, ever, ever done. i started brainstorming in the last few days i was wrapping up wild geese partly because i was so excited to have written a story where like magic events happened and only like 96% of the plot could be described as “and then a person has a feeling” as opposed to my usual 100%. i have generated a lot more ideas than i really expected to (some of which i like a lot!) but also am still extremely far from having a workable story, although i also have not dedicated any purposeful time to it really, just kind of let it percolate. also it is tough because every version of how it might be told i come up with definitely involves multiple POVs and so far seems to involve more than 2 partly because like a bunch of my other magicians grudges/missed opportunity wishlist items keep sort of working their way in, which is... a lot. i feel like a sensible thing to do would be to come up with at least one (1) kind of mid-tier plottiness concept, somewhere between “50k words of And Then A Person Has A Feeling with a couple thousand spent on Magic Things Happen, Which Are Also Feelings, But Whatever” and like “5 strands of plot drawing together for me to work out every single one of the 700 beefs i have with this show at once” but AS YOU CAN SEE i literally do not have any ideas that fall into that category at the moment, so. we shall see!

finished the story quests for bl3 (but barely any of the side missions yet) and i got...Opinions(tm)
(sorry if this doesn’t cut on mobile! also if you want to hide spoilers i’m tagging all my bl3 posts as “bl3 spoilers” so ny’all can blacklist it)
in no particular order:
i honestly wanted to give gearbox some slack and try my best to like this game bc i know people had probably unfairly high expectations for this game given all the build up, but they really just kept letting me down in everything but the graphics
said this before but overall, the characters are all Quite lackluster
^^ tyreen and troy included. adding the word "bitch" to every sentence does not automatically make it funnier
that being said, i super love their backstory + relationship with typhon/nekofeyo-whatever
the character designs are equally boring. moxxi was the only one who got a real improvement imo. lilith and maya are okay. rhys...i dont think i have to explain. lia...i dislike her hair; the black felt like it balanced out her design better and the white streak was interesting and cool but full white just looks bad tbh. zer0 feels less sleek and more bulky which doesnt fit him much. tina lost her pretty color palette and cute outfit. where are all the bright pretty color palettes in general???? there are other colors besides brown and black???? use them?????
ending of pre-sequel: “you will need all the vault hunters you can get” me: “ooh does that mean all the vh’s from previous games are back? i can’t wait to see everyone meet each other! :D” bl3: only nine of them come back, 3 of them die, the rest are involved in maybe one mission at most
boss fights. super. boring. and tedious. i mean this could be partly because i was playing on ps4 which made it extra not fun but if the only reason the fight is difficult is because they have a lot of health...it's not fun or challenging. i want fights like handsome jack with interesting mechanics. i want fights like angel with emotional impact. i want fights like the pre-sequel final boss that i forgot the name of with variation that isnt just "now they have an attack that shines bright lights in ur eyes, covers the whole arena, and can knock you down in one hit im looking at you traunt and killavolt". tyreens fight was the only one that i somewhat enjoyed because of this. all the others were just like "ughhhh again?"
im really enjoying melee amara playstyle. taking out badass enemies in four hits is my jam. this is just my fallout 4 playthrough all over again babey heck yea
typhon just wanted to be a good dad!!! he called tyreen starlight which is adorable!!! he did the best he could and tyreen hated him for it!!! i don’t blame either of them for that tbh, it makes sense from both their perspectives. tyreen definitely should have been more understanding, but she’s a dick so :/ (not saying this is a writing flaw, just a character flaw)
hammerlock needs higher standards in men but i really appreciate the undeniably in-your-face "fuck you" to all gamer dudes
i really. hate. how little the player character seems to matter in the story. in pre-sequel the vh's all had unique dialogue AND npcs would respond, sometimes even with character-specific lines. even when it was the same across vh's, it still felt like the npcs were interacting and speaking directly to them. the player character felt like a character of their own, rather than just a vessel for the player to do quests and kill enemies with or an errand runner for the important characters. i thought that was the direction they were going in with bl3 too but this just feels like bl2 only worse. there’s a separation again between you and the story and it feels like you’re just watching things happen. now ur not just a silent protagonist, but instead your a speaking protagonist who gets completely ignored. whats the point of including unique dialogue if it's not even acknowledged beyond an "uh-huh, moving on"?
sometimes the logic just feels kinda dumb. the twins killed/disabled maya and lilith in a heartbeat, they can literally disintegrate the most powerful beings in the universe, but the vault hunters? absolutely not. they must fight them for 40 minutes and then die.
after the fight with troy, no one even touched tyreen. there's no way they could have thought "yup she's definitely dead, no need to shoot her in the head or anything just to make sure. we didn't do anything to even hurt her, we just assumed." turns out she's 100% alive and gets up to start the apocalypse. who'da thunk! i know they wanted the end to seem more dramatic but it just seems stupid that they could have stopped tyreen like 5 missions earlier had they even the slightest bit of common sense.
lilith was one of the biggest threats to tyreen and troy's whole plan. of course they should leave her alive and simply steal her powers. let's kill the monk siren instead.
i know they didn't include this to give all players a fair experience instead of favoring sirens, but it kinda sucks playing a siren character and it's just completely ignored outside of ur action skill. tyreen and troy are sapping siren powers left and right, but they choose to leave you with yours. when you enter the eridian place with typhon tannis starts glowing because it has "something to do with sirens". what about the one standing right next to her? this applies to bl2 as well...jack i would willingly charge ur vault key for u pls why do u take lilith instead :'(
oh yeah speaking of tannis! i LOVE that she got angels powers. for some reason it just makes me really happy. maybe it's bc i think it's sweet that part of angel survived. maybe it's because it makes for cool fanart. maybe it's just cool. idk. also like that we got a solid explanation of what angel's powers were (influence over technology). i always thought her having control over it in bl2 might've been cuz it was hyperion tech and she had access to it same as she had access to the satellite from bl1. it wasn't super clear since it seemed like she could also materialize things like the ammo during her fight.
that also reminds me: all the dramatic reveals in this game felt kinda badly done.
the very first one with zer0/katagawa. like the whole time i was walking around looking for him i was trying to think why he might've turned/something must have happened to him or rhys. everyone was saying it was undeniably zer0. i finally meet him and take one look at his bright ass maliwan armor and its like. really. you couldnt have made it anymore obvious that thats not zer0. and then his helmet gets knocked off and surprise! it's not him. i totally didnt already figure that out with one glance 10 seconds ago. (maybe even earlier when you got glimpses of him around the building but i always missed it cuz i was looking at the fish tanks n shit)
also the tannis reveal. she was speaking to me in the same way that only known siren characters could. weird unexplained things were happening and seemed to be related to tannis. i wonder if she's a siren? surprise! she's a siren.
tyreen and troy knew about the great vault through some unknown means. typhon was talking about having a son and a daughter who he told stories about the great vault. typhon calls tyreen his daughter a while later and lilith acts surprised like honey ur a little slow, i figured that out several lines ago.
basically i'm not saying they were so obvious that i knew from the beginning of the game; i only figured them out a little before they were outright stated. but it was enough that it kinda ruined the effect and the characters acting surprised only when it was blatantly spelled out for them just made it annoying.
i feel like most of this is pretty negative, but i don’t mean that i hate the game and was miserable playing it. it was honestly okay...like i said i wanted to like it, but gearbox hates me specifically and killed/ruined all my faves just to spite me sooo...*waves hand back and forth in a sort of “ehhh” gesture*. i think my opinion on bl games from most to least fav would be: tftbl, bltps, bl2, bl3, and bl1. so it’s not the worst, but deeefinitely not one of my faves. i mean jack’s not in it (or if he is he doesn’t have a big role) so it’s already at a huge disadvantage. the ending was ok, it was all dramatic n stuff and it kinda makes sense i guess, but it was just about as okay as the rest of the game really. i don’t hate it but it’s not great either yknow?

for school I wake up at 6:30 and get up at 7, because I physically can't get out of bed until I've snoozed my alarm at least 3 times. although at the moment,,,,,,,,,,,probably around 10:30? I set alarms to try and keep some kind of structure... and then sleep through them

absolutely sunsets. I live about 10 mins away from the beach, so watching the sky change colour and the stars come out as the sun sets over the sea, with a mug of fruit tea warming my hands... fantastic
