as im in the process of writing a long fic myself if you’re a planning out everything and then writing or just letting the story leading you after you got the vibe down of what you wanted type of guy

This question is painful for me because I do in fact outline the entire story and write out events & scenes I want to include.

Then each chapter I outline each pov & what needs to be accomplished in that POV

Buttttttt then I start writing and characters don’t do what they are supposed to do & then my outlines shift or my plans change. I usually go with the flow though because vibe and naturalness are important to me so if it happens differently then I just have to adjust.

Most major events stay the same, but little things here and there or certain convos change constantly. This is why I have a word count problem lol.
