Women of Ancient History

I got really interested and started researching this recently! There were a lot more people than I ever expected to find. Women have been priestesses, poets, artists, Olympians, swimmers, queens, and rebels since literally the dawn of time 💪

A few notes before this: because I'm trying to steer towards women who tend to be more unknown, I purposefully didn't include Sappho, Hypatia, or Nefertiti even though they were undoubtedly important.* Two exceptions here: one is Cleopatra, because I think that the modern image of her is essentially a caricature and the real woman is much more entertaining. The other is Queen Boudica, because... I just have a soft spot in my heart for her honestly. But others, like Agnodice of Athens, were excluded because there seems to be a consensus that they probably didn't exist.

Anyway, this also goes roughly in chronological order.

*= I understand that 'well known' is going to change in different parts of the globe. For example, Queen Boudica has greater name recognition in the UK, while Ba Trieu is well known in Vietnam. Coming from the North American perspective here

Enheduanna of Mesopotamia (2286 BCE)

The world's first ever named author was a Mesopotamian woman! She was born in 2286 BCE, and was the daughter of Sargon the Great (the first ruler of the Akkadian empire). Some people think the 'daughter' part might have been figurative. Regardless, at the time she was alive they were having trouble merging the culture of Ur and the newfound identity of the Akkadian empire with the traditional Sumerian practices. One of the ways to keep the population in check was through religion- which was why Enheduanna was appointed high priestess of the moon deity. The position would have been a great honor, and given her almost divine authority. She served in this role for about forty years, during which time she wrote 42 temple hymns and three epic poems- such as "Exaltation of Inanna". She notably changed the characterizations of the local pantheon significantly- drawing them closer to humanity, and elevating certain gods (like Inanna) above their previous station. She is also credited with the first use of first person in writing. Her work was studied and copied for years after her death, and influences a lot of other literature from antiquity.

Telesilla of Argos (510 BCE)

Yet another poet! Telesilla was very sick when she was young, and prayed to the gods to restore her health. She believed that the answer was in dedicating her life to the nine muses, and produced a really large amount of work. Unfortunately, unlike Enheduanna, there is very little of it that survives. She is referenced by several different historians: Pausanius, Plutarch, Athenaeus, etc. Beyond poetry, she is most famous for her role when the Spartans invaded Argos. They had, by this point, killed a lot of Argives- and Telesilla mobilized the women in defense. There are a couple of historians who argue that it was her music, rather than Telesilla's own initiative, which inspired this response. That being said, there are Ancient Greek accounts of women throwing stones and roof tiles at invaders, as well as women/kids/elderly attempting to defend the interior of the city while the young men defended the exterior. According to worldhistory.org, "nothing inherently improbable... that her name was famous both for her written work and her exploits at Argos against the Spartans strongly suggest that the account of Telesilla leading the women of the city into battle is based on a historical event."

Artemisia I of Caria (480 BCE)

Artemisia of Caria was a woman from Ancient Persia. Why is this significant? Well, women from Ancient Persia had significantly more equality than women in many other parts of the world at the time. They had significant roles outside of the house- women could run businesses, be officers in the army, etc. That's how Artemisia got to have a significant position as one of Xerxes I's naval commanders. During this period Greece and Persia were at war, and Xerxes I was considering how to approach the Greeks. As they were considering a naval battle, Artemisia was the only one to advise against it. She basically told Xerxes to form a blockade and wait them out until they starved (!). Xerxes I didn't listen to her. Despite this, Artemisia came along for the battle on her own free will. She was very successful, sinking a Greek ship. However, her original prediction for the battle proved correct, and the Persians lost. She was pretty well honored during her own lifetime for this. Beyond that, historians (including Herodotus) mostly mention her favorably. After the battle Xerxes had her ensure his son's safety as they returned to Persia, and we *think* that she returned to Caria and continued her reign there afterwards.

Hydna of Scione (480 BCE)

You may notice that I gave the same year for Artemisia of Caria- if you did notice, good job, astute reader! There's a reason for that! While Artemisia is the Persian side, Hydna is a greek heroine from the same time period in the war (though different battles...)

There are two different versions of Hydna's story. Both agree that her father was a famous swimmer and diver named Scyllias, who taught her to swim from a young age as well. In the first version from Pausanius, her skills became needed before the battle of Artemisium. In this version she volunteers to swim ten miles with her father to the Persian ships, and then cut the ropes and anchors with a knife. The ships smacked into each other in the water, or else ran into the rocks and were destroyed- allowing the Greek forces a significantly better shot at victory. In the other version from Herodotus, her father was working for the Persians as a diver to recover treasure- while also passing information to the Greeks. Then he and his daughter sabotaged the Persian ships just before the major battle. However, in either story, Hydna's fate was unknown.

Cynisca of Sparta (300s BCE)

Cynisca was a princess who competed in the Olympic games against men (and won). Women in Sparta had more freedom than in other parts of Greece- they were allowed to own property, inherit, commit adultery, and received more education and physical training. So- Cynisca had an uncharacteristic level of freedom. She used this to her full advantage, and excelled at chariot racing. While she used a jockey, her wealthy male contemporaries also used them (ie, it wasn't a unique scenario in any way). Regardless, she won at two separate Olympic games. Her grave read "My ancestors and brothers were kings of Sparta. I, Cynisca, victorious with a chariot of swift-footed horses, erected this statue. I declare that I am the only woman in all of Greece to have won this crown."

Iaia of Cyzicus (110s BCE)

Iaia was one of several female painters mentioned by Herodotus- along with Irene, Aristarete, Timarete, etc. I chose her for this because more seems to be known about Iaia as compared to her other female counterparts. She was born in Cyzicus, and also did ivory engravings. There was a big demand for art in Rome at the time, and she was a better artist than many of her male contemporaries. To quote Pliny the Elder, "no one had a quicker hand than she in painting." Not only did she remain unmarried throughout her life, but her art was well known for choosing to center women as subjects.

Cleopatra VII of Egypt (70/69 BCE)

I know everybody already knows the basic biography of Cleopatra, so I won't get into that. I mostly just wanted to focus on her accomplishments for once, because I feel like she gets a bad rap in a lot of media even though she was arguably pretty good. She was the only pharaoh from her dynasty who bothered to read and write Egyptian, she was noted for her public speaking skills, she understood several more languages, and was educated on "mathematics, philosophy, oratory, and astronomy" (quoting history channel here). Throughout her reign she maintained a vast network of spies- not just inside Egypt either- to make the best decisions possible. She stabilized the country's economy, and when drought hit she opened the royal granaries to the public. She oversaw the construction of parts of the Temple of Hathor, as well as temples to some Greek gods. Cleopatra also expanded the Library of Alexandria after it was damaged in a fire. The woman was a highly strategic ruler.

PS: if you're interested, you should also check out her younger sister Arsinoë IV. Her story is pretty fascinating and there's a Drunk History episode about her (basically, she tried to take over Egypt at like age 15- I'll leave the rest open).

Queen Boudica of Iceni (60s AD)

I know that she is super well known, but I've admired her since I was a little kid so she gets a spot. Boudica was the wife of Prasutagus. Everything was relatively peaceful until she was widowed, and her husband's wishes that the area be left to both Nero and his two daughters (Heanua and Lannosea) were ignored. Accounts vary about how the Romans reacted next- but Tacitus claims that Boudica was flogged, the house was ransacked, and her daughters were raped. The other Iceni locals were treated no differently and rebelled as a result, targeting the area around modern day London. They were at first very successful. Boudica reportedly told the troops "win the battle or perish: that is what I, a woman, will do; you men can live on in slavery if that's what you want." Eventually they were beaten by the Romans- while Boudica was not killed here, she reportedly took poison rather than be a Roman prisoner. I couldn't find what specifically happened to her daughters. It's a really grisly ending, but her bravery is still awe-inspiring.

Azadokht Shahbanu of Persia (240 AD)

She was the wife of Shapur I. As you may recall from the section on Artemisia I of Caria, women in ancient Persia had significantly more influence than women in other parts of the world. This doesn't come into the story as much here as it did for Artemisia, though. Azadokht is here because she is thought to have highly encouraged the building of Gundeshapur, which had a teaching hospital and library. This legacy lasted for hundreds of years after her death. Traditionally it was her husband's direction which led to its building, but there's evidence that it was Azadokht who brought in Greek doctors to influence how it was run. Azadokht was also apparently very skilled at sword fighting as well.

By the way, there could probably be a whole other post of similar length about women from ancient Persia alone. These women had a unique amount of freedom and they were taking advantage of it. If you want to read more about them, here's an article called Twelve Great Women of Ancient Persia.

Zenobia of Palmyra (late 200s to early 300s AD)

For some historical context: Palmyra is in modern day Syria, and considered to be ruled by a very unstable Rome. Palmyra itself was a trading city between Persia and Rome- Zenobia herself was born a Roman citizen (interesting side note: she also claimed to be descended from Cleopatra. The truth factor in that is unfortunately dubious...). She was married to an important political figure, who was assassinated in about 266 CE. Zenobia then came to power. She started claiming parts of Roman Egypt for herself, and then started eyeing other pieces of neighboring territories- basically adding them without regard for the unstable Rome which could do nothing about it. This was until Aurelian, whose reaction to this insubordination was effectively a rampage. There are loads of different versions of what happened to her after this. However, Zenobia's court remained imprinted on historical memory + was referenced a lot afterwards.

Ba Trieu (300 AD)

Ba Trieu was born into an upper-class family. She *may* have been orphaned as a child and raised by an older brother, but we don't really know enough to say for sure. During this period the Vietnamese were under an oppressive Chinese regime, and Ba Trieu decided at age 19 that she'd had enough and was going to rebel. Her brother tried to dissuade her, and she reportedly said, "I want to ride the storm, tread the dangerous waves, win back the fatherland, and destroy the yoke of slavery. I don't want to bow down my head, working as a simple housewife." She made a shocking amount of progress in the next two years in at least 30 battles, until the Chinese finally recognized her as the serious threat that she was. Everyone agrees that she died afterwards, though stories vary about exactly how.

PS: if you're interested in other women from the Vietnamese fight against the Chinese, google the Trung sisters. They're remarkable women.

Fatima al Fihri (800 AD)

Fatima was born in modern day Tunisia, and unlike a lot of the women on this list, she actually wasn't a queen/ruler of any sort. Her father was a merchant. When Fatima inherited a lot of money from the deaths of her father/husband, she chose to use it to use her money to build a mosque. Her town was overflowing with people at this point, so it was becoming a major need. It ended up also accommodating a library and university, which I believe is still open today. Because of its age and prominence, a lot of the practices which are today associated with colleges originated here. To quote an article from Morocco world news, "for a North African Muslim woman to establish such an institution, which she opened to people of all ages, social classes, and faiths, is testament to her exceptional vision... the rest of the world has Fatima Al-Fihri, the mother of intellectuals, to thank..."

Unfortunately, that has to be all for now- there were a fair number of other women who I wanted to include here, but couldn't because they aren't 'ancient' enough. (Jigonhsasee? Shajar al-Durr? Looking at you).

I also learned sooooo much writing this so I'm a happy girl right now. But that being said, if you see any obvious inaccuracies, let me know and I'll edit it. There's a lot of cases where sources vary about what happened, so I had to pick and choose. Also, because of the quantity of women in this- and some didn't make the cut- I was only looking at 2-3 articles per person, leaving room for error. There are some cases where some people allege that the woman in question didn't actually contribute enough to the thing she's famous for. Unless I thought this belief seemed to have a lot of evidence + appeared in multiple articles, I left her in.

Allow me to be blunt for a moment nonnie, and please know it pains me to be mildly rude when you just complimented me, but.. NO.

I don’t do nor read A/B/O stuff, not now, not ever. It’s one of the things I refuse to touch because it’s absolutely not my cup of tea. However, I’ll admit the idea of putting Lion in such situation again, after what happened with Claire, would be interesting. It’s also the main reason this has been sitting in my inbox for so long, instead of answering with “sorry but nope” right away.

And since I know @icezero09 would be interested in such idea as you proposed, I decided to think more about it. In the end, I turend the whole thing into a dream sequence, so while there are mentions of mpreg (and god, I never thoght I would write that), it is NOT an A/B/O fic.

It was past midnight and Doc still hadn’t come to bed. Admittedly, it was sort of stalkerish to stay awake monitoring his teammate and lover’s comings and goings, but Lion couldn’t help it. He was worried for Doc, the man would work himself into an early grave. Lion considered sending him a text message, but Doc would probably ignore it and stubbornly sit in his office, typing report after report until his vision was blurry enough that he couldn’t see the words on the screen anymore.

Careful to not make too much noise and wake up the rest of the team, Lion made his way to Doc’s office. The corridors of Hereford Base were mostly dark and cold at these hours, but Lion knew the way by heart. Just as he imagined, there was light coming from under the door to Doc’s office. Lion went in and stopped dead in his tracks upon the sight that greeted him.

Doc was standing in front of his desk, stretching out his sore muscles and inadvertently giving Lion an unobstructed side view of his rounded belly. Dear God, he was huge! Lion was still staring dumbly at his lover when Doc spotted him.

“Ah, Olivier,” he greeted the attacker with a smile, the kind of soft gesture that made Lion’s heart soar every single time it was directed at him. “I’m afraid your children won’t let me rest tonight, it feels like they’re staging a kickboxing match.”

“Children?!” Lion squeaked, unable to take his eyes away from Doc’s belly bump. There was no denying the sudden rush of protectiveness he felt, along with the terror and denial.

Oblivious to Lion’s inner turmoil, Doc waddled up to him and pinned the attacker with an expectant look that Lion had come to associate with their arguments, more specifically it was the expression Doc made when he thought Lion was being obtuse on purpose.

“Did you find any?” The question left Lion even more confused, and he opened his mouth then closed it while trying to figure out what to answer. Doc sighed in disappointment. “I shouldn’t have eaten all the marron glacé yesterday, but these cravings are worse than I expected and I still want more. Are you sure there’s none around? I know Julien hoards sweets, maybe he has some.”

Before Lion had the chance to reply, the door opened with a bang and Ace strode confidently into the office, smiling at Doc in that way that made Lion want to strangle him. “What are you doing here, Havarti?”

“It’s Håvard,” Ace corrected him, voice clipped and lacking any warmth.

Lion had used the same incorrect name Thatcher used out of pure pettiness. It was the only thing he and the SAS veteran agreed on, neither liked the newest addition to the attacker’s team. Thatcher because he was a crabby bastard, and Lion because he didn’t like how the ex-paramedic looked at Doc.

“I heard you were craving a little something, and one of my followers on Insta shared this amazing recipe so I thought ‘I just have to try this’!” He pompously showed a small platter full of the sweets and Doc’s eyes went wide. Ace winked in what he probably thought was a charming manner, “Lucky you to be saved by me, eh?”

“Yes, very lucky,” Lion grumbled.

He stood behind Doc, using his superior height to drape himself over his lover like an oversized blanket, one of his hands resting on the medic’s protruding belly. This was his boyfriend, and the sooner Ace got the message and disappeared, the better. No such luck though, as the breacher looked smugly at him while Doc stuffed his face with the damned sweets.

“Did you feel that?” Doc moved Lion’s hand lower right as one of the babes kicked again.

Awe swiftly replaced any lingering confusion and doubts in Lion’s mind. He never got to experience this before. He hadn’t been there for Alexis’ birth, or for much of his early life, but now he had a chance to do better with Gustave and their children. And Lion didn’t intend to squander this opportunity.

The sound of someone crying got his attention, and he spotted Claire in the room with them, looking as she did when they were seventeen. Neither Doc nor Ace seemed to see her. She hugged herself and looked at him with a heartbroken expression.

“How can you say that! This is not something you can sweep under the rug and pretend it never happened, an abortion won’t fix anything!”

Lion blinked, and he wasn’t hugging Doc anymore. He was back at his parent’s house, clutching a cushion like a lifeline as they yelled at him for being a sinner, a disappointment and an embarrassment to his family. Again. He wouldn’t stand for it this time. His shouts merged with the recriminations his parents flung at him until the cacophony was deafening. Fine, he didn’t have to take their screams and contempt!

He took a step beyond his still screaming parent and saw Claire’s young self was still there, holding Alexis’ hand. “You never fought like that to be our family.”

Lion awoke with a start, full of the disquieting feelings the dream stirred in him. His first reaction was to check on the figure sleeping next to him, and he let out a relieved sigh when he saw Doc was looking as always. A second later he felt foolish for worrying about that, since men couldn’t get pregnant. That had been the most shocking part of the dream, no doubt, but what haunted Lion were the last words from dream Claire and Alexis.

It was true, Lion had never fought for Claire, nor wanted anything to do with Alexis at first. Remorse gnawed on his soul, but by God it was only the truth. Until much later he didn’t realise his mistake and started making amends, but he wasn’t even eighteen yet when he got Claire pregnant, he hadn’t been ready to start a family. Now he was.

While he regretted how he acted back then, Lion also believed everything happened for a reason, even if the reason sometimes was that you were an idiot who had to find himself before being ready to accept more responsibilities. And as imperfect as he still was, thank God Lion had become a better man than he was in the past. He had God and Gustave to thank for that, for showing him his errors. Lion was adamant to avoid repeating those.

Feeling more at peace, he turned to the side and embraced Doc, only to be elbowed in the face. This was his loving fiancee, alright. Remembering now Doc’s tendency to fight his way out of close contact when it was hot, like now in the middle of summer, Lion turned to the other side with a smile. He was ready now to have a family, not only with Gustave, but Alexis would be part of it too. Maybe this all had been a product of pre-wedding nerves. After all, in a month they would get married, and Lion couldn’t wait for the day to come.

As poor and infrequent of a reader I am in most cases, I really do love reading my asks and comments! Makes me feel less like I’m just talking or posting into a void with all my own nonsensical thoughts and words hahahaha

I LOVE the idea of merging K-Pop with actual literature (I am an unapologetic bitch for BTS’s Blood, Sweat, and Tears era largely for the fact that it was inspired by Hermann Hesse’s Demian). You have certainly struck a very specific chord in my heartstrings of guilty pleasures, mwc anon. Or finch anon? I also think it’s very cute y’all have nicknames. 🥰

Just—WW being an underground art dealer with a soft spot for art appreciation but is also detached from modern pop culture and MG just being some lowkey social media-famous art history hipster model n shit AND THEN THEY BOND OVER ART in their own little bubble away from their stressful jobs is. So. Beautiful. AND THEN THE TENSION of not knowing each other’s double-lives?? (More so in WW’s case I guess lmao.) I literally have no IQ points in the fine arts despite loving the idea of being super intellectual in the field.

You’re fully welcome to pop in whenever! It is definitely reassuring to feel like your ideas aren’t just rotting in a random computer folder or being lost to the Internet abyss—that someone is actually listening to those ideas. That’s how I feel about reader’s responses to my fics! And occasionally to my tumblr posts!

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful idea with me, I am obsessed with it.

Episode #5: "his Kirby ass can shut the hell up” - Marie

Charlie being safe!? Yas. Good for me since he is part of my alliance.

An alice them challenge. Uh yass!! 🦑 i have the book so i can quickly look thru it and find people, items, food, and other stuff which is good for us. I dont want to go to tribal.

that was about when we played before and she was part of a 3 person catfish. but funny enough it still applies to this game!!! love when she leaves me on read for 20 hours

So I feel good with my standing in this tribe tbh. I feel like I have made meaningful contributions to the tribe in challenges and have a good rapport with a few tribe members. Keaton and Marie might be the easiest too get out, even though I am aware that it makes me a threat but we been used to that feeling. Having the idol as extra security as well makes me feel good so eeeek. I just want too survive to merge and link up with new people and people who i know as well, and play off that. im super nervous but also excited, i just hope to god we win this immunity

At first I thought this Alice and wonderland challenge was going to be super fun an exciting. At first it was. Now its getting a little frustrating and annoying seeing Not Found (something along those lines). I'm hoping that our 28 items is higher than the other tribe's or at least being a tie. I want to avoid tribal still because still feeling sketch about this tribe.

Our search isnt doing too well. And nicole went missing and dont know she is. We have 28 items. Hopefully thats enough but i have a feeling in my stomach that it isnt and im scared. Dont want to go to tribal. Hope we win though. 🤞

if kirby does not tell me his great great great great grandmas waffle recipe hes done for. like why bring it up if ur not gonna share. ??? um we won immunity again and im so happy bc i dont want to go to tribal bc even tho there are MULTIPLE ppl i want out i dont want to risk it. stan list right now is dennis, naptime, matt, marie. everyone else? and matt and marie barely on there too... but um actually starting to like them and theyre more responsive now so love that! by the end of this game ill actually know things about alice in wonderland wooh!

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Okay so this sucks. We all really tried hard and we only lost by 2 points which is so frustrating. Not to mention that Nick and Charlie couldn't even find anything at all. And now we're in a really shitty spot because sending Nick home would be an easy out but he possibly has this legacy advantage thing which he can use tonight and if that means he's safe than idk what to do because I have a strong alliance with the other 4 people on my tribe. Which means now we have to come up with a plan to make sure Nick feels safe and he doesn't use his advantage but we still put the majority of votes on him. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Okay I'm laying it on thick with Nick. Really trying to play the middle and see where his head is at. I think honestly chances are Nick will make it through this round but I want to make sure after the vote he still trusts me but he does use his Legacy Advantage. Brian and I are walking a very thin line.

Yas. We won immunity again! 🦑 Still on of the 3 people not go to tribal yet which is pretty awesome. I’m now hoping that Charlie, Sharky, and Brian can find a way to survive again. Don’t want to lose any of them. Hopefully we merge soon. Its going to be down to 12 people after tomorrow’s tribal. Only ones to really talk to me on this tribe is Dennis, Bryce, Keaton and sometimes Matt. Havent talked to much to Marie. And Nicole ive tried but ignored. If anything it would be cool to blindside Nicole at first tribal in the merge.

I think im going to talk game to keaton today and see if we could work together. And im also going to see what Bryce thinks about us working together as well. Im just nervous if tonight we do merge at tribal, i dont want to be first boot. I want to make it far in this game.

I don't know if my last confessional went through, so I'll just send another one in hehe...

I do feel like Charlie is going home this round because of his idol play last round, but it could also be Nick going or him using his Legacy Advantage and all that being gone. I don't really know, but I want to make sure it ain't me and that's what's important.

As for other things... love Sharky, what a king. Love Nathan, another king... Annabelle's really cool, ya... I love Charlie but he's still probably gonna die... and ya kjHDA... that's all I have to say...

Scared for merge because L O fucking L... that's going to be a mess. It could be coming tonight, but I really do not know and I'm scared…

Keaton decides to call me inactive in the tribe chat but his Kirby ass can shut the hell up, he's just bitter I voted against him the first tribal and he's tryna put the target on my ass. Thank god we won the challenge because I don't know if I would've stayed. I have good relationships with Bryce Matt and Dennis but I don't know if that's enough to keep me.

So first off. Sorry for no video confessional. But not enough happened to bramble around and take 3 hours of my internet for uploading slow AF but here is a small summary of what happened to my game. Idolsearch: went to the tugley woods again. I guess you need a map to find your way through it, but what do i know D: Last tc: Charlie played his idol and mentioned publically that all of his old tribe knew about that idol anyways. What kind of made me a bit suspicious. Mainly because when he told me, he said that he really wants to work with me and thats why he is telling me this secret. Anna announced a "live challenge" after this tribal (oh yeah we are safe again woo), but since we would be down to 12 I wouldn't be surprised if that "live challenge" is actually the merge announcement? If not. I think EVEN IF WE LOSE i should be in a decent position? Because Keaton couldn't keep his mouth shut and when it came to sitting someone out and called out Marie in the tribe chat. Bad move for him, good for me. Because even if we go to tribal unless someone really wants to target me for some reason it should be between those 2

Okay so we've come up with a slightly complicated plan. Looks like I'm going to lose Charlie this round which makes me kind of sad because I really get on well with him. But it's what i have to do to get further in the game. We're going to split the vote so The Dinah Dudes vote fro Nick. The OG Absolem people vote Charlie. Anna tells Nick he needs to use his Legacy Advantage so we get rid of that from the game. I just hope I come out of this without hurting Charlie or pissing off Nick.

With merge approaching I think that it’s important I remember I really don’t owe anything to the people on my tribe... they voted out Jayden and told me nothing and I think it’s time for some revenge.. all you people in the viewing lounge stay tuned... Ima show you why I’ve never not made a merge!

Ive been talking to Bryce and wants to work with me. This is great. So on this tribe i have Dennis and Bryce and perhaps even keaton. So just nervous for live challenge.

LAST MINUTE SCRAMBLING. Sounds like Nick is trying to flip the vote on Brian. he asked Nathan and Anna to flip off of Charlie. So Now Brian is worried (Which is totally fair) because he doesn't know if he can trust Anna. So even if Nathan/Brian/I stick to the plan, if she flips and Nick uses his advantage Brian goes home. So now he wants to flip his vote so worst case scenario it goes 2-2-2 and we can fix things on the revote. Ugh I hate scrambling. I prefer my tribals over easy.

Charlie is voted out 3-2.

who is bryce and how long has he been on this tribe

so my daughter emma left and im the only one who stood by her side. i still have lexi on my side. hopefully adam, jordan pines (shocking) and jay. im mostly working with jordan and jay bcuz they might know lexi and i are friends. considering i was in the india reuinon chat and kicked from it on and off for weeks. also katie is in this game and i know she's bffls with adam, so i wanna work with him to keep that door open. and katie is also bffs with jordan so ILL GIVE THAT LITTLE PINES BOY A CHANCE

Me forgetting to make a confessional doesn't surprise me. Anyway I got an advantage from the wishing well thing and I'm shook that it worked to get half the tribe on call

I think I made a pretty good connection with Chris, especially based on the fact that we are in 2 orgs together. I would like to align with one more person and make it an alliance of 3, so when I get the chance to talk to Chris, that could hopefully be set up. I want to be a bit more straightforward with my goals in this org unlike in some of the previous ones I have played recently. I've been waiting for someone to come to me but maybe if I go to a couple people, they will respect and trust me more because I want to align with them. It worked well with Chris. So, usually i don't make confessionals, because thats lame, but my boy RTP needs them. So what can I say, I'm a giver. Anyways round 1 is fine. I have a few different alliances, each sort of mixing with the other. I got a 1 on 1 of me and adam. I got a 3 person one of me Luke and Jay. And I think I am working with Ryan and Willa. Separately of course. Anyways i'm not too worried about going home. I just hope we win shit soon.

Also we won the first challenge yay!! I'm really scared to go to tribal b/c I don't think I'm in a majority. The reward challenge is usually something I'd like but I finally fixed my sleeping schedule and its about to get ruined again probably. I'm so tired but I want to win. The wishing well is also strange. I didn't get chosen this time and no one told me they did either so yikes :s! Here's hoping things look less grim.

heyyyy im back! after we won immunity (bless), i kinda just.. .stopped talking to ppl but everyone else stopped talking so its fine and idc! emma got voted out and im PRETTY sure i dont know them so idc. i know willa so im happy they stayed over emma. then came the reward, where ryan slung a ball we had to catch it to open treasure chests, and we dominated ! (well not we, but the rest of my tribe), they got 4/6 balls and charlotte managed to open the chest so we won reward and a visit to the wishing well! at the wishing well, i chose #9 bc... it SPOKE to me, and... My ADD made it almost impossible to keep up with this high speed challenge so I kept /leave on my message box the whole time hoping it would become an option to get points... man I'm a smarty pants and also now I get to sleep!

I am so stressed for tribal. I think I have something good with Carson and Zachary but I still need two votes hopefully Willow and Charlotte vote with me and we can do Eric or Chris. Chris doesn't respond to my messages ever so I'd prefer to do that honestly but idk I am just hoping it works out

Willow told me she heard Chris's name and im like "HELLL NAW IM NOT VOTING CHRIS BAI." I need Willow, and I need Chris, and there is no way either of us 3 are going to go this tribal.

So I talked to Willow and she's like "my two top allies blah blah blah. Anonymous blah blah blah" and I'm thinking to myself, "Why would you tell me that someone other than me is your top ally. You could of had me sold if you said I was your only top ally." Now I know there is someone you might keep over me." And I have strong suspicions that her top ally that isn't me is 1 of these 3: Katie, Carson, Charlotte. Either way, I am going to remember what Willow said if we are ever in merge together and I need to think about saving her or someone else, especially if one of these suspicions are in merge with us.

SO WE WON IMMUNITY! Even without help from Jay, Lexi and Willa the rest of us killed the challenge and took home immunity. I'm so happy that we won immunity because Willa was looking like he'd be the next person to go and I kind of don't want that? I know it puts me in a pretty precarious spot with my alliance since they agreed it's probably best if Willa leaves next. If I can't save Willa at all then I'll vote him out but if I can save him that would be GREAT for me. I want to get closer to Ryan and Adam. Adam and I talked during the first tribal council and we're both pretty straight forward thinkers and know what's best for the tribe so I'm interested with working with him. Ryan is someone who I really want to work with and he's close with Lexi which means I might have to vote her out so that he'll fully trust me?? Idk we'll see. I've been thinking about what Ulta will do at tribal because if a winner from that tribe ends up leaving and then we swap and I end up on an Ulta dominated tribe...that's bad news for me.

So I think I'll get at least one vote here. But I feel good with my alliance that they'll have my back. I trust carson the most, then charlotte, then zachary, but I trust them all so that's good. I think Willow and Eric are together but I don't think they'll be able to get chris and Katie on their side. Willow wanting chris is also pretty bad so idk I think I'm safe at least I hope so cuz I'm really starting to enjoy the cast and season!! Should be a 7-1 or 6-2 or 6-1-1 vote hopefully and then 4-4 at worst

NOW HE WANTS TO VOTE CHARLOTTE OUT TOO WHICH>>> SDKJSDKJ. i see why he went premerge so many times right now. like... if you try something over and over, and it doesn't work. take another LOOK!! but whatever i could be getting bamboozled but the plan is to get out eric bc he blew up his game by scrambling with little numbers, and withholding info (like telling bryce that he should vote charlotte and he couldnt tell him why but hed give him 3 rounds of safety DSJKSJK...) hopefully im not being dumb and im actually right.
