hihihi! so many interesting options to choose from ah! let’s go withhh 5. Future Dreams!! (for wip wed!) -@a-little-unsteddie 🌼

thank you ο(=•ω＜=)ρ⌒☆ and an excellent choice!!! for context, the idea is that steve gets weird dreams where he'd see himself - an older self. he gets short convos with Future Steve who would always give his past-self advice or names of people to look out for (both positive or negative). most of the time, the dreams happened whenever something big happened to Steve. this whole au stemmed from me wanting Steve in the Scoops uniform to somehow meet Steve in the battle vest because they have such different energies and now we have this (～￣▽￣)～ below is the dream he gets right before all the upside down shit goes down:

It took some time, but it got easier to see himself from the outside when it meant he had someone to guide him, even if it was only ever himself.

But this?

This version of Steve is bloodied, bruised and has a mangled baseball bat in his hand that's so caked in violence, he feels queasy in his dreams for very first time.

"You're gonna wanna run." He says in a steely voice. Steve straightens his back, ignoring the echo of his father's disappointed tone. This is different, he thinks. "Hell, you're gonna run. But you stop. You stop halfway and when you do," his future self grits his teeth and steps closer into his space, poking his shoulder. Steve idly notices he must have had some kind of growth spurt after stopping halfway. "You turn around. You fucking run back and stick around, do you understand me?"

Steve swallows and nods, unable to ignore the ghost of his father's everything that shadows his future, who's expression turns stricken. Maybe he noticed it too.

And then Steve is running from the Byers' house and he's right there, the car is right there but he looks back.

He sticks around.

and also a bonus part because i loved this au when i first wrote it, here is post-starcourt steve dreaming of season 4 steve:

"You look like shit."

Steve chuckles, not bothering to lift his head up. God, this is his whole life, isn't it? Warnings and forethought but not smart enough fucking thoughts -

"Hey -" Future Steve says sharply. Steve flinches, his head throbs completely in sync with the thumps of the landscape around them. "Look up, dingus."

It takes some effort and extra breathing but eventually he does. And...

"We're okay." Future Steve says softly, one hand dragging up and down the other arm. That's such a comfortable looking sweater. And he likes yellow. He really likes yellow, Steve decides. "We make it out okay."

"How many times do we have to make it out, man?" Steve coughs. At least he's not in the sailor uniform at this point. Considering that Scoops has burned down, there isn't much point in having it but he still keeps it tucked away in his closet. For the memories. The good ones. "Starting to get tired of all the..." He waves his hand and hopes Future Steve gets it because fuck, this sucks.

There's no answer. And Steve knows they're not even close to being tired yet.

Okay so I'm just spitballing here for a sec but

I was listening to In the Dark of the Night from Anastasia and it got me thinking about a scenario where the reader is some kind of magical entity, born with powers or gifted them, either way, Bowser wants you. His initial plan being to kill you and steal your magic. And of course you're used to being chased by others but Bowser is just beyond terrifying.

Something something he can't bring himself to kill you and come to find out from Kamek later he's trapped under some kind of curse that's forcing him to crave ultimate power. And then you get to help break it.

Music truly does the best for my creativity cause now I'm imagining Bowser singing In the Dark of the Night with his soldiers as the backup singers-

Something about "In the dark of the night she'll (they'll) be mine" get my gears turning.

Oh my gosh wait because I can build on top of that!

So, not only is Reader wanted by Bowser, but there's an even larger power above them. Kinda like Hawkmoth and all the villains he makes just to get the miraculous. Just an evil power that's kind of on the same plane of existence as Reader that - where Reader spreads good - they spread evil and Bowser just gets caught in the crossfire of it all. Well, less crossfire and more like the entity sees Bowser as a good source of negative energy and kinda uses him to spread fear and stuff.

And then news of Reader reach Bowser and his craving for power kinda gets worse. He himself seeks them out and gets more desperate with every passing day.

And just imagine Bowser and Reader trapped somewhere where they need to work together, but Reader is just terrified and Bowser is still trying to capture them, but in that moment he also has this small moment of clarity. Where he knows there's something above him. Like Garmadon from Lego Ninjago being evil not because he wanted to be but because of that snake venom coursing through him. (Dragging all the fandoms into this post).

So it's kind of an uphill battle for both Reader and Bowser as they try and break Bowser from the hold of this higher evil whilst at the same time Reader needs to avoid Bowser's tyranny and thirst for power.

And for the sake of it - you mentioned "In The Dark of the Night" and my mind went to straight to Jonathan Young's cover of it. That much more metal theme to it that would fit Bowser so well. Then again, I'm also biased towards his covers since they're all rock and metal covers of songs.

Oh, and quotes like 'Come my minions fly for your Master, let your evil shine' could be both Bowser and whatever is making him evil kinda echo through.

'My curse made each of them pay'

And if you wanna overlay songs, once again I'm gonna mention Jonathan Young's covers. His rendition of "Phantom of the Opera". It'd fit perfectly. Honestly. It has that clash of vocals almost, with Young having this deep and raspy voice, and then Reese has this typical opera, smooth voice. I'm totally not biased. Totally. Okay, I'm biased. It's the typical metal style. Drums and electric guitar and stuff that fits Bowser so well.

But yes! That's my input. I love this idea so much. Time to add it to my list of maladaptive daydreams to, well, daydream later.

The best time of the day was always the time when you got to go round Bill's house. There was no question about it. The place was a safe haven for you- Missy thought the world of you and Bill's dad liked you, when he was home from work and you were out of your boyfriend's room or the garage. It was a ritual for the pair of you, you'd finish school together, walk Ted home to his house just a street or so over from Bill's, then head back to the Preston house together for the evening. Sometimes Bill would ask you if you ever wanted to go to your house instead - you'd simply shake your head and keep on walking to his, not even missing a beat. It wasn't something that needed to be considered. Being around Bill, in a place that he spent so much time in himself, was just... Your idea of heaven.

So there you both were, Bill sitting cross legged on the old battered couch, and you on the floor across from him, Maths textbook on the table and workbook in your lap as you tried over and over again to solve a particularly difficult quadratic equation. Maths was an okay subject for you, but as you had moved on to the higher levels of the subject, the flow of your answers had staggered more and more; it was a welcome challenge, but naturally more frustrating at times. Bill's guitar lay in his lap, as he lazily plucked the strings from time to time, attempting to tune it. He'd been tuning it for the past hour or so - he wasn't fussed on it being done particularly quickly, and him taking his time meant that it'd be done with greater accuracy. It also meant that he wasn't disturbing you too much, which was something he was vaguely conscious of, in the back of his mind.

After a while longer of him tuning his guitar, Bill is almost certain he's got it right. There's only one real way to test it. Without warning, Bill started an epic little riff, not thinking about the noise he was making as his fingers danced across the strings and neck of the guitar, until one wrong pluck threw him from his little daydream induced riff. He looked over to you, hoping to get some feedback of his playing before he had thrown himself off of his groove, but you weren't looking back at him. You had curled in on yourself, hands clamp over your ears in a vain attempt to block some of the noise from your ears. Within a second, Bill had practically thrown his guitar away from him, and was kneeling down beside you. "Hey, hey..." He tried to get your attention, but you just frantically shook your head at him - you didn't want any more noise, you couldn't take anymore. Bill hastily untied the plaid shirt he had tied round his waist, and draped it round your shoulders. It was too warm for him to actually wear it properly, but he knew that when you were upset, in any way, that you loved wearing it, that it helped you. You move your hands to grab at the fabric, pulling it tighter over your shoulders, and bringing a fistful of it to your face as you normally did. As strange as it may seem to some, the scent of your boyfriend helped you immensely. It allowed you to pull yourself, piece by piece, breath by breath, out of the downward spiral the sudden noise had put you in. Bill stayed in front of you, resting his hands gently on your shoulders, ready to move at a moments notice should it become too much for you. He breathes audibly, slow and deep, making sure that you can hear him, and try to mimic him. You try to, though at first, there's a stray breath or two every so often, your diaphragm jerking in response to the sudden switch back to normal breathing. A few more minutes pass, before Bill tries to speak to you again. "You okay?" His voice is soft, and as gentle as his touch. He didn't mean to upset you - then again he never did, and typically went out of his way to ensure that you were never upset as much as he could. "I'm... I'm sorry about that, I didn't think..." He explained; he knew it wasn't an excuse, but he just wanted you to know. You nod slowly; it wasn't the first time that Bill had acted impulsively like that. It happened a lot - though typically it was something more like he'd throw something up in the air, or sometimes slam a book. You'd come to accept it as part of him; however his father thought differently, though he never commented as such. Usually it was worse if you were around Ted, too. The pair bounced off of one another like nobody's business; if one started something off, the other was sure to follow in his wake.

"You feeling a little better now?" Bill asks, finally sitting down properly in front of you, rather than just crouching. You nod again. "Uh, yeah... Just, the noise, mixed with the homework, it just... It got too much..." You gesture vaguely at your two books as you speak, and Bill nods gently in reply. "I'm sorry..." He pauses briefly, "You want some help with that?" He offers, and you chuckle lightly, "What?" He asks, almost incredulously, "I mean, two minds are better-" "I know, Bill..." You cut him off, "But we're both... y'know, not always great at math..." You shrug, "So I doubt both of us working on it would help...." "Huh..." Bill sits in thought for a moment, before nodding in acceptance of your explanation. Sometimes it was difficult for him to understand maths too - so his offer had mostly been out of him wanting to alleviate you some stress, because he never liked seeing you upset or stressed. "What if... We got ice cream instead?" He suggested, "We've got a ton in the freezer... We're never going to get through it all - Missy only has one every so often, and dad never has any..." He told you, and you nodded. "Yeah, actually... that sounds really nice... I'll try finish this equation, then I'll join you..." You lean forward, pressing a light kiss to his cheek. His face splits into a wide, goofy smile. "Get me a good one, yeah?" You call after him, as he hurriedly scrambles to his feet, and dashes off to get to the freezer. "I will!" He yells back - and you know that he'll stick to his word, he always did. He was, without a doubt, the best boyfriend you could ask for.

gn!reader | ppl not good w water representation !!! (me) (it's me.) i think this can work for any cove past the step 1 memories because you know,,, the cast. i was picturing step 3 cove mostly though 🥹

there's a few ways to go about this off the top of my head: mc tries to get over their fear by themself, mc lying and cove finding out in the middle of it (higher probability with younger cove who doesn't know the mc as well), or mc telling him and them working together to overcome the fear. tbh scenario 1 leads to 2 anyways LOL

woah. just thought of another option where mc tries to get over their fear by themself first. to be quite honest i'm not sure how effective that'd be, and also if it'd be a good idea at all so i'd hope it also leads to scenario 2

if mc does manage to make a dent in their fear with their own research and taking a lot of time, cove might catch on just because they're spending a lot of time at the beach. whether he asks to tag along, or he actually finds them himself, it feels a bit inevitable LOL

scenario 1 (caught in a lie) — mc is standing on/near the shore while cove's already wading into the water, probably up to his hips by now. he turns to find them staring and is just,, so confused

he asks what they're doing, and if they actually wanted to stay on the shore, but mc's hesitation tips him off that something's up

when mc finally tells him they're actually scared of water young cove might ask why they wanted to come with him then. cue mc saying they wanted to spend time with him or something of that sort and cove being flustered immediately 🥹🥹

either way he's honestly so so shocked how he didn't know about this earlier considering his own affinity for water and where they live . ultimately he's understanding and tries to find a compromise; he doesn't want to make them do something they don't want to!!

if mc tells him that they want to go in the water he's a little hesitant, but their obvious dedication gets his compliance

scenario 2 (teamwork) — he's taking this seriously! cove asks beforehand what they want to do, if there's anything he shouldn't bring up, etc because he really really wants them to be comfortable.

he tells them about all the nice things about swimming and some of his favourite memories to try easing into it. cove talking about mermaids and different stories he's picked up...🥹🥹

won't go far into the water unless mc really wants to; he's happy to sit in the water where it isn't too high and just talk ! and if they want to hold onto him, he's right there

if mc can't swim and they ask cove to teach them ?? he'll definitely try his best. might run to get some kind of floaties or something, and also stay near the shore since he's never had to teach someone how to swim but you know

cove offers to get his surfboard so they could at least rest on it while he takes them around. he promises he's strong and will move slowly so it's no problem for him

if mc apologizes for taking their time, or they're scared that they've ruined his plans, etc. etc. cove reminds them that he wants to help, and that he's touched that they want to go into the water. getting over huge fears isn't easy and it's really admirable that mc wants to put in the time

oh brother. one of the things i despise is dunking my head under the water. i simply won't. i can imagine cove comforting mc by holding their hands/arms, telling them they only have to do it for a second, etc. it's about baby steps, baby!

they go further and further whenever mc is ready, and cove gets so so proud/happy each time. Dating cove with High Initiative? little kiss for every accomplishment. sorry i make the rules and i'm right.

cove won't ask While they're swimming or anything, but he does wonder if there's a story behind their fear. he asks tentatively, giving them time to think of a response and is of course not hurt if they wouldn't like to share then and there. he does reassure them that if they do want to talk about it later, he'll be there

even if it actually takes multiple 'sessions,' at the end of it all they both get to enjoy swimming together so it was really worth it ^___^ they can now both swim far out, or surprise the other from below, idk play marco polo?, etc etc

i wanna ask, wich driver would you like to see on screaming meals?

Ohhhh this is a tough one because I honestly have a head cannon that Marcus will eventually do this full time and dive into Motorsport media if he doesn’t do racing himself so it’s open a lot of possibility or guests. (Or at least I hope he does.) Sorry if this is a little long, I've watched my fair share of motorsport podcasts and I just think this one is so special.

It's hard to determine but this is my list nonetheless:

1) people we have no idea about (photographers, managers, race engineers etc.)

I would absolutely love this idea. These are the people that spend the most time with drivers in the most unfiltered way and they’d be close enough to not hold back. They likely would've had enough of their (especially Marcus') neuroses to really just put people on blast. If I only could pick one though, my pick would be to have MP Motorsport’s Coordinator Jen. I think she's a real hidden powerhouse in the paddock, taking on so many vital roles during her career and I always love hearing stories of the behind the scenes that keep this crazy travelling circus running. With how hectic everything gets, she's bound to have crazy stories of things going wrong or figuring things out last minute. Also, imo, she always puts out some of the best photos of the weekend. They're always so candid and full of personality which is really hard to capture well in photos. She may be more reserved but this would also be the perfect opportunity for Clem (the newest co-host in town) to solo host or only host with James along with Felipe as a returning guest following his championship win. Jen would have the comfort of two people she's already close with as well as someone who's able to be more inquisitive, structured, and relatable to the audience. Would also love to hear her perspective on what it's like as a third party, non-racer, watching someone go through the motions of winning a championship. (Also big bonus: she's a Kiwi!)

2) Paris Armstrong

Younger sister energy goes hard and you know we’d get the most embarrassing stories about Marcus from her because at the end of the day, he’s not an F2 Motorsport driver; he’s a pain in the ass that she’s unfortunately blood-related to. It’s also always interested me that most drivers move away from home so early in their lives. It’d be great to see them touch on what growing up was like given that they now live in London together/originally started the Screaming Meals Instagram together.

3) Lando Norris

He’s been mentioned quite a bit on the podcast already through karting stories even though they don't claim to be close. I think his dry humour, quick wit, and generally cluelessly upbeat personality would be really fun to have on the podcast. Not to mention, having him on the podcast I think would be the best foray into having higher profile F1 personalities on the podcast that aren't close friends. (Screaming Meals special where they all go karting again for old times sake? Ft. Callum Ilott? We can only hope for now.)

4) Liam Lawson

Triple the trouble. I know they technically don’t get on well or aren’t particularly close, but it’d be fun to hear the return of Marcus going full kiwi because at this point, Clem sounds more kiwi than Marcus does. It's also because I wonder if James has any stories of bumping into Liam during the NZ karting circuits because it's such a small circle. Liam is pretty chaotic so I think it'd be interesting to see what the dynamic is like. I'm pretty sure in this case, to have a non-awkward episode there might have to be a secondary guest. The obvious pick would be Juri Vips because he's close with both Liam and Marcus but uh- idk how that would really work.

5) Robert Schwartzman

While bringing Jehan, Callum, and/or Enzo on the same episode. I'd love for them to recount their old Prema days. Some of the wildest stories we've heard so far were from the episode with Callum so there's bound to be more from their end as well. I'm mostly thinking about that boxing story between Rob and Enzo. (Another specials idea where they do a boxing challenge to relive that one training camp?)

6) Guanyu Zhou

Although we don't see it as much, Zhou does happen to be quite close with them. (As pictured in the latest Screaming Meals IG story.) That would be something really interesting to listen to because Zhou is such a reserved character on the Paddock. He's definitely got a sense of humour and I think having a space like Screaming Meals where they can just banter and go back and forth, we'd be able to see a new/hidden side of him.

7) James Harvey Blair (The man himself)

James, James, James. Ngl I think he really carries this show. He's given us some of the greatest moments so far and I think people really overlook a host like James. For podcasts, it's so important to have a host or a character that the audience can channel themselves through and in this case, I think it's James. He's always so on top of keeping the questions going and while he is the brunt of a lot of jokes, I hope he really gets the love and appreciation he deserves. (I think sometimes you can see the jokes kind of get to him) Having a podcast on him and what his story is besides "I'm just a no-name insurance broker" would be special. If anything, having it as a birthday special would be really nice. Also, what is it like being in a space that he was so close to for so many years while not driving himself? Growing up, it's so hard to let go of things that are so familiar to you; that basically built and raised you as a person. I'm always so interested in that narrative, of drivers that had to at some point make the decision or were forced into making the decision of stopping motorsport. (Also James casually just name dropping he works for Lloyd's like it's not one of the world's biggest and oldest powerhouses when it comes to insurance and finances???)

8) Rory, the Editor

Just let me know what goes on behind those cuts and bleeps. LOL but all jokes aside I just want to know how Rory ended up as their editor and what it's like travelling and working for Screaming Meals. What were his other experiences before this? Was he working in motorsport or did he somehow just fall into this??? So many questions for the floating voice off camera. Again, another birthday special featuring Rory would be really fun and a great way to show their appreciation for the work he does on the podcast.

Anyways, there's a reason I love this podcast sm and It's because I think it really offers what the sport is missing/needs in order to progress and grow into their newer audience. People like to hate on new fans or fans joining just for the personalities of the drivers but those aren't reasons to discredit them as fans of the sport. They watch the races, keep up with what's going on and if that doesn't make you a fan I don't know what does. Often what the sport needs are these personalities to draw people in first, especially when it comes to grasping a younger demographic that you need in order to build a long lasting fanbase so the sport doesn't die out. Older motorsport media doesn't do a good job of hooking in a newer fanbase, especially for F2. It's dry and it often seems too overproduced to really get genuine stories from drivers who are a lot newer and shyer to the media ring. We're just seeing the emergence of an audience looking for these more modern media outlets such as WTF1, PitStop, and TG1F to name a few. Screaming Meals is in the optimal place to become a motorsport media mainstay and is already quickly becoming a ticket for a huge uptick in F2 support. This could translate to more eyes and opportunities as a whole for the series and feeder drivers itself. Too bad the FIA and F2 media don't see more value in this, but hey, they can now just take the show and run with it without having to bend to the whim of some mega media conglomerate

He always takes necessary precautions, such as locking the doors and drawing the curtains, before he allows himself to strip his soul bare and lay all of his impurities before you. This is a side of him that no one else must know about. Otherwise, his reputation would take a massive blow.

Speaking of “baby,” it’s no secret that Fuyuhiko positively despises his baby face. You, however, adore it. You like to squish his cheeks and coo about how cute he is. He never resists you, and will even play along by puckering his lips at you if he’s in a good mood. It doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t like his face, but if you seem to be fond of it, then maybe it’s not all that bad.

But if anyone else even thinks about touching him in such a manner, then that’s it.

Fruits Basket - Vol 17

I am,,, confused. Thoroughly. Did I read this too fast? Am I misunderstanding? This book felt like a series of "What? Huh? What? Huh? What? Whuhh?? Huhhhhh?????" and I am kinda bewildered.

So let's talk about it,,, somehow.

It starts with Shigure and Hatori talking about Akito's meltdown at New Year's, and how apparently Shigure tried to comfort Akito, but Akito was having none of it. The topic of Kureno came up, and how he just seems off, disconnected, in a sense, and also how Akito seems to have chosen Kureno above all the other Juunishi.

Panning over to Kureno, in the previous book Momiji gave him the CD of the play, "Sorta Cinderella". He seemed pretty affected by the things that Uotani said, but they also reminded him of moments with Akito, when he was younger. He calls Shigure later, asking for Tohru, which Shigure finds odd. What business would the two of them have? But it turns out that later, Tohru does run into Kureno, on her way to the store. She was squatting next to a bunch of birds, and when he showed up, they flew away. This is important at all, because that isn't what usually happens to the animals that the Juunishi share a spirit with (agh how to phrase things), in fact it's the opposite. Tohru asks Kureno about this, and then he solidifies any questions by hugging her and,,,, nothing happens. Somehow, he isn't affected by the curse. It has no hold on him, he won't turn into a bird (I suppose a rooster, specifically, which is kinda sad bc I was looking forward to that, in a little way. It'd be funny, if nothing else) if he gets really weak or sick, or if he hugs someone of the opposite sex.

Tohru asks him how this happened, and when, but Kureno doesn't really know. It happened randomly one day, a while back, but he has no idea was triggered it. It's just that, one day, he was vibin, doing his thing, and it just happened. No one else in the family knows, he's just been pretending that he's still a Juunishi. Kureno also said that he can't be with Uotani, that the CD was a wasted attempt, because he's promised to be with and take care of another person, that person being Akito. Kureno makes it clear, though, that he still does care for Uotani, but he just can't be with her. This whole time, it's been switching between the current interaction between Kureno and Tohru, and flashing back to when Kureno first realized that the curse broke for him, and Akito was just fucking losing his mind, screaming and shit. He begged for Kureno to stay, regardless of the curse (btw, at this point, Kureno's a teenager, and Akito's still a little kid, so it was a little while ago), and Kureno said that he would promise to stay with Akito, stay by his side, pretend that he's still a Juunishi, etc.

And then, at the end of the chapter, something is revealed: apparently Akito's a girl. To be honest, I'm not really sure what to do with this information. As far as I can remember, it doesn't really have much to do with anything. Why has he (she? fuck. I have no idea.) been presenting as a boy this whole time? Because his mom forced him, since he was born. Why did she do that? I don't know, it didn't say in this book. Hopefully it fucking clarifies later on, because I'm just getting vibes from that one Insidious movie, with that ghost/demon person. Wasn't that their deal? Something like that. Reversed, but something like that. Idk, I was too busy being scared shitless to think about the intricacies of the plot.

Anyway, so Akito's apparently a girl, but has been raised as a boy. Four of the Juunishi know this: Shigure, Hatori, Ayame, and Kureno, because they were all kids when Akito was born. Apparently, when Akito's mom (her name is Ren) was pregnant with Akito, they all came to her and were crying and shit, acting super weird. Like, they all just knew that Akito would be the God.

As a fun side note, Ren and Akito fucking hate each other. Just,, so much. Is there a person in the Sohma family that doesn't have familial issues, because it just seems like there are a lot of people who do. I think maybe Kagura doesn't? I haven't seen anything saying she has issues. Nothing much has been said about Shigure's, Hatori's, or Kureno's families, so maybe they're okay? I dunno, but one of the things that specifically shows up between Ren and Akito, is that Ren does not believe in the "bond" that Akito and the rest of the Juunishi have, saying that it's a fake love, that, if given the choice, the Juunishi would not behave or treat Akito the way they do, which is kinda true. From what I read about when Yuki first met Akito, there were a lot of conflicting feelings, ranging from "I hate you but also I never want to be away from you" to "This is hell on earth just being near this person but also to be away from this person is agony", and like, whoa. That's a lot. I doubt it's like that at all anymore, but there has been some mentions that Akito does have some higher hold on the Juunishi than other people do.

All this said and done, I still want to know more. I am heavily curious. I'd like to know more about Akito's whole situation. I'm glad he's not just a one-dimensional "bad guy", but dang, some of this stuff, it just feels like it's coming out of left field. (Is that a baseball thing? That sounds like a baseball thing. Idioms are weird.)

By the time that Kureno leaves, Tohru's a wreck. She's crying, and confused, and just,,, yikes. (I kinda was too, but just the confused part.) And so who comes to the rescue than Hanajima, and also Hanajima, but the small one. (I realized recently that most of these people are referred to by their first names, except for like, Uotani and Hanajima, which makes sense. A massive swath of these characters would all be "Sohma". It'd be confusing as fuck. But still. Idk) Hanajima felt Tohru's sheer confusion and despair, and Megumi tagged along because why not, y'know?

Hanajima decided that Tohru would stay with her for the night, so that she and Tohru and Uotani could all talk stuff out about what Tohru was upset about. Unfortunately for Shigure, Yuki and possibly Kyo? I don't think he was home at the time but maybe??, that meant that Tohru wasn't making dinner. So Yuki potentially gave Shigure and himself food poisoning, but hey, it's better than takeout, right? (Seriously, Tohru's back must be tired from cooking, cleaning, doing the laundry, and dealing with everyone's emotional baggage, she's doing so much. And she still has her own personal shit that she does, like,,, how hasn't she lost her shit yet??)

Tohru says that Kureno was kind, in that he was looking out for other people's feelings and wellfare before his own, and Hanajima says that she (Tohru) does the same thing (which is what Uotani first saw in Kureno, and why she thought that he was like Tohru), but Hanajima worries that the more that Tohru does that, the more that she carries the worries and troubles of other people, it could end up hurting her. (We love a caring friend that cares) In the end, Uotani tells Tohru that it's okay, that she cares more about the relationships she has now than whatever she might have had with Kureno, which was nice.

Moving onwards, the school is making preparations for graduation! I don't think Tohru and Co. are graduating quite yet (maybe they are idk), but there are these paper flowers that they're making, and for some reason, shenanigans ensue. Like, a group of girls just nabbing a bunch of flowers that Kyo made?? Why? That's really weird of you to do. Stop that. (They were tracked down and forced to make up for all the flowers they stole, because for some reason they wouldn't give back the flowers they stole.) It's kinda weird, I forgot that Kyo is also kinda popular with girls, because usually we only hear from the girls that fawn over Yuki. But yeah, that's a thing for Kyo, as well. Weird, either way.

Now we are at the last chunk of the book, hooray! This isn't as long as the previous one 😬. So, Shigure and Akito got something weird going on. I'm not really sure what to think of it, honestly. Apparently Shigure slept with Ren, and Akito kicked him out of the main house as a punishment, which Shigure did not fight back at all. (wow that was not a large section at all i totally didn't just lose steam and stop right there at all nope not me i don't do that not at all)

I'll admit that part of me is still kinda,, squeamish? I guess? about people in the Sohma household being in relationships, it's just that they all have "Sohma", that is probably messing me up. Idk. It's definitely not a healthy relationship. All kinds of weird tensions and miscommunication abound. It's not a good time.
