Picking you up at work after your shift was normal for him

normally you are right at the entrance, waiting for him

today you're not

instead, you are still inside and talking to someone

it seemed like you were stopped before leaving, clear as you were holding your bag and dressed in a long coat and his shawl

now Vincenzo knew you were an decent person, not one to ever lie or even think of cheating

but the burning feeling in his chest was impossible to ignore

his hands were clenched, fingernails digging in his palm as he watched from outside

receiving weird looks from a number of people that just as quickly left after being glared at

now there are multiple ways this could go after that

one, he'd remain outside and wait for you

more likely to was option number two

he'd go inside and get you

so with a fake smile plastered on his face, he made his way inside

one of his arms made his way around your waist, a chaste kiss on your cheek before he turned to the person

holding out his hand to greet them, he made sure to tighten his grip a bit more than necessary

then he turned to you again

and you could see the slight annoyance in his eyes, so you excused yourself and made your way outside

"You're jealous."

he scoffs and roles his eyes at you

but does not deny anything and instead chooses to remain quiet

"He's already married with three kids. Trust me, he's not interested."

it changes nothing, Vincenzo has seen man do much worse

but he drops it and focuses on you instead

which basically means if the other person got a bit too close for his liking

and then you're told that you have a new boss since the previous one quit

you're at a complete loss, which quickly turns into a rant as you tell your boyfriend

unaware as he smiles throughout the story

also unaware of your previous boss' screams from your basement

instead, Han-Seok shushes to sleep with a smirk

Jang Han Seo:

this man makes it impossible for you not to make him jealous

he trusts you fully, but by God does he get pouty

first time noticing this is at a work party

he's standing by your side, arm wrapped around your waist

you talk to a business partner

one from overseas and thus different ways of greeting

more commonly a kiss, or three, on the cheek while smiling brightly

you are accustomed to this, Han-Seo is definitely not

first, a look of bewilderment

quickly followed by a scoff and roll of the eyes

(cause he's sassy like that)

but as the conversation continues and your laughter doesn't seize, he gets pouty

fingers playing with your dress/shirt, trying to get your attention

all while his bottom lip is slightly pushed out in a form of pout

this can end in two ways then

one, he gets his attention and your friend leaves

which makes him happy, of course, and will probably get you kisses

second one, you continue to talk

gets more pouty before leaving your side, just barely though

gets something to drink or eat, gets you one as well

then basically forces himself in the conversation one way or another

will call you his wife on accident, blushes but remains confident in that statement

he's ready to pop the question anyway if you wanted him too, ring always ready in the inner pocket of his jacket/pants pocket

you usually shrug it off to his greatest disappointment

and when the conversation is fully stopped, you will probably be kissed as well

you're getting kissed anyway, so choose your route

The second you entered the large room, all eyes were on you, however it didn’t intimidate you, on the contrary, the corner of your mouth raised into a discreet smirk.

“Mr. Jang, this is the lawyer I talked to you about, Y/N.” Mrs. Choi introduced you to the tall, brown-haired man which you assumed was the boss, based on his rather dark yet charismatic aura.

“She is way younger than I thought.” He noticed, his gaze travelling all over your body. “Who would’ve thought such a young person carries the title of the best South Korea’s Lawyer.” He admitted, raising one of his eyebrows.

“If I’m not mistaken, you aren’t old either and yet you are Babel’s feared chairman. As you can see success has nothing to do with age.” You exclaimed, sitting down on one of the chairs.

You looked around the room and noticed everyone else besides you and the chairman, standing. Before you could comment anything, Mr. Jang nodded his head at them, as a sign to sit down.

In the corner of your eye, two unfamiliar men sitting at the table caught your attention. You must’ve not really seen them when you entered the room.

“May I ask who are you?” You looked at one of the men whose face had soft surprisingly soft features and dark, sliced back hair.

“I’m Jang Hanseo, the boss’s brother.” He said, looking around the room, seeming uncomfortable with eye contacts.

“My name is Han Seung Hyuk.” The second man spoke up and you gave them both a tiny smile before turning your head towards the chairman.

“Let’s go straight to the point, Mrs. Y/N are you willing to join my team and become even more successful than you already are?” He smirked, waiting for your answer.

“Well Mrs. Choi didn’t really go into details so I still don’t know what I would have to do specifically.” You admitted, leaning into your chair.

“Do what you’re the best at, defend me and Babel if we ever get into troubles. Babel is going to be very soon the most powerful company in South Korea so trust me, you won’t regret working with us.” He said shortly.

“Do you expect me to do anything else than defending, which include crimes and illegal activities?” You cocked your eyebrow, watching Mr. Jang’s lips turn into a smirk.

Thanks to the years of your career, you were able to read people better than books so the second you entered the room, you knew he wasn’t a simple, successful chairman. Maybe it was his dark gaze or his strange aura, you weren’t sure but something was off about him.

“I will be honest with you, Mrs. Y/N. You, personally won’t be involved in anything that goes against the law, you’ll leave it to us.” He said, sincerely not looking fazed by what you said.

“I’m in.”

After a few months, you got to know your team better and you often spent time with them outside of your work hours because their presence genuinely made you feel better. However, there was one particular person with whom you got significantly closer than with the others : Jang Hanseok.

Although, you promised yourself to never get your personal feelings involved in your work, you couldn’t help but feel your knees get weaker at every eye contact you shared with the chairman.

At first, you completely neglected your feelings, actually cursing yourself for acting this way until you started noticing Hanseok acting different than usually. Although he wanted to act indifferent, his body language heavily betrayed him.

Whenever you spoke to him, he’d lean towards you saying he couldn’t hear well, until your lips were practically a few centimetres away from each other.

But even though, you could read people like books, you weren’t a hundred precent confident Hanseok was into you, so you decided to let it slide for the time being.

The first serious charges towards Babel appeared on the internet after a few months since you’ve joined the team. Usually, Hanseok was able to make the articles disappear thanks to his connection but this time the charges were too serious and you needed to take it to the court.

Thanks your unbeatable lawyer skills, you had no issue winning against Vincenzo’s team. Even though they had proofs and witnesses, you predicted each one of their moves and you were able to defend Babel properly.

Once at Hanseok’s apartment, everyone clicked their glasses filled with champagne and celebrated your victory.

“Y/N you were amazing back there, you didn’t even stutter once!” Hanseo noticed, smiling at you.

“The key to success is confidence.” You admitted, comfortably leaning your body into the black couch.

“I have to admit, we would have been in a very bad spot if it wasn’t for you.” Mrs Choi added, sipping champagne afterwards.

“You all flatter me too much.” You laughed.

Everyone talked about the trial yet the person you were expecting to be the happiest among the team, didn’t even spare you a word. Hanseok was sitting on one of his armchairs, seeming lost in his own thoughts.

Midnight eventually came by and everyone decided to head to their houses. You bid your goodbyes to Hanseo, Mrs. Choi and Mr. Han who quickly left the mansion and you were about to put your shoes on when Hanseok grabbed your arm.

You turned around and you felt his his gaze pierce trough your soul. Your breath hitched when Hanseok’s eyes shamelessly stared at your lips, noticing his pupils expanding.

Without a second thought, Hanseok put his hand behind your neck and locked your lips together.

At first, you were in a state of shock, not excepting the evening to take such a 180° turn but you quickly smiled into the kiss, giving him the hint to continue.

“I didn’t get to properly thank you for what you did today.” He whispered, between the kisses. “So let me show you how grateful I am.” He smirked and suddenly picked you up, making you wrap your legs around his torso.

None of you dared to break the kiss and Hanseok eventually led you to his bedroom where he carefully laid you down on the massive bed.

“Properly thank me?” You cocked one of your eyebrows, looking at your boss who was on his knees between your legs.

“If it wasn’t for you, we would’ve lost over 760 million dollars today.” He admitted, slowly leaving a trail of wet kisses down your neck.

You couldn’t help but moan at the pleasing feeling of his hot tongue doing wonders on your sensitive skin. His big hands roamed over your body, driving you crazy.

You both eventually fell asleep, tangled in each other’s arms, not fully knowing what tomorrow will bring. But none of you two cared. All that mattered at that moment was your presence besides each other.

This is a long one !! sorry!! here's some true brothers angst thinking (with comfort at the end) for you guys though <33 (also read the tags after reading this if you do read this maybe cos I go on another mini ramble lmao)

Thinking about maybe when Hanseo and Vincenzo live together in Malta, since all Hanseo’s ever known is getting abused (both physically and verbally) and hurt over any mistake he made no matter how small, he automatically assumes Vincenzo will do the same to him (of course he would, that's what he “deserves”, right?).

So he tests the water with Vincenzo a bit.

To see what Vincenzo’s limits were, what to avoid doing to not get hurt, what the unspoken rules were (after all Hanseok had plenty).

It starts with small things, not tidying up after himself, breaking a plate “accidentally”, leaving milk out to spoil (also “accidentally”).

But Vincenzo doesn’t hurt him.

He helps Hanseo clean up the plate he dropped, checking to see for any possible injuries. He casually tells him to remember to put his things away when they’re all over one of the rooms. He only ever lightly scolds him (it was more a reminder than anything) in a light tone to make sure to not leave out the milk out next time for too long because it’ll spoil, but it was fine, that they could just ask a maid to add milk onto the grocery list.

It both confuses and scares Hanseo.

It meant he didn’t know what would set off Vincenzo, and he couldn’t handle the anxiousness that clawed at him whenever he was around him because of it.

Plus he was apart of the literal mafia, who knew what he and his mafia family (that also lived on the island) would do to Hanseo when angered?? He had seen first hand all of the various ways he toyed with Hanseok, and couldn't forget what Vincenzo had done to him before he joined his side, so who knew what methods he'd use when angered?? He needed to find out what to avoid, and fast.

Vincenzo starts noticing and asks if somethings wrong and why he's been avoiding him, to which Hanseo was terrified (and slightly relieved) that this was when the other shoe would drop and Vincenzo would shout at him or hit him.

But that never happened.

When Hanseo told him nothing was up, that he was struggling to sleep a bit lately so because of that he's just been a quite tired recently and out of it, Vincenzo seems to buy it and offered to get him a therapist, as after all it makes sense he’d be restless after everything that happened not too long ago in Korea. He ruffles his hair and leaves and Hanseo is just left shocked.

Why was he being so patient with him?? Hanseok would’ve hurt him at so many points in this test, why didn’t Vincenzo? (“Any other person would’ve by now right?”)

Was he toying with him? Making Hanseo more and more relaxed around him so that a real punishment would sting more and Hanseo would blame himself for it?

No, he shakes off that thought immediately. His hyung wouldn’t do something like that. It had to be something else.

He needs to know when the other shoe will drop. So he escalates things. Better to know now than fuck up later and have his hopes ruined.

So he keeps “forgetting” to go to his therapy appointments. He “tripped” and broke one of Vincenzo’s prized art pieces, he refuses to move his things or clean up after himself. He goes out to drink almost every day and comes home at like 3am, sometimes blasting loud music when Vincenzo's sleeping.

Anything. Anything for the second shoe to drop.

And eventually, Vincenzo can’t take it anymore, but it didn’t go as Hanseo expected it.

Vincenzo and him get in a huge argument, Hanseo’s refusing to listen (the shoe has to drop now right?) and Vin just exasperatedly like “why are you doing this?” but he isn't shouting at him or upset, just… concerned?

What??

Why wasn’t he mad??

As Vincenzo is asking him to explain why he was being like this Hanseo can’t bottle it up anymore and just bursts out with “because you won’t hurt me!!! why wont you hurt me??? just get it over with and scream at me for screwing up or slap me or anything! just do something so I'm not always anxious around you and... scared everything’s going to- I don’t know, straight up collapse at any moment or something!! just tell me what your rules are!!”

And that's when Vincenzo realises.

Oh.

His heart sinks. Because he now knows exactly why Hanseo’s doing this.

He’s trying to figure out what Vincenzo would hurt him for.

He thinks Vincenzo is going to hurt him eventually like Hanseok did.

Oh.

It takes Vincenzo a moment to process this and it's suddenly silent and Hanseo thinks this is when the other shoe has dropped.

He’s filled with fear once again, but this time it spills over any sort of relief he could’ve gotten at finally “finding out what Vincenzo’s limits were” because Hanseo can’t read Vincenzo’s face right now. He associates that unreadability with the unreadable expression Hanseok would have on his face before hurting Hanseo.

He's bracing himself to get shouted at or hurt so he goes back into Hanseok-mode and takes a step back, starting to cave in on himself as he's about to try to apologise and take back what he just said.

Thankfully, Vincenzo realises this and immediately snaps out of his head to reassure Hanseo. "Hanseo... I'm not going to hurt you... I was never planning on ever laying a hand on you. Ever. Nor was I planning to ever shout at you."

And Hanseo is just.

Stunned.

He doesn't know what to say so he's only responds with a meek "Why?"

For Vincenzo to be like "what Hanseok did to you wasn't normal or even okay in the first place, and you'll never get any of that horrible treatment from anyone again." (Vincenzo will make sure of that).

And Hanseo's just. speechless.

He can't figure out what to say or do so he's just there, starting to tear up like "hyung..."

Because this is when Hanseo realises that for the first time in his life, he's truly, truly safe now.

Because now he has a home, and he didn't just mean the island they lived on, but Vincenzo himself. Vincenzo was home to him, and he was more of a home to him than any fancy villa Hanseo had had before could've ever been.

Yeah, he'll be okay now.

After all, no matter what happens, he has his home to go back to.

if he can't, he will make it up whatever way he can

but he makes sure to not ever come home hurt or bloodied up

because he knows it will worry you

if he does come home injured, he'll tell immediately

will patiently sit as you treat him

when sleeping, he'll always have you wrapped in his arms

well, if you ignore the trauma's he clearly has

his affection is no secret

he gets all mushy around you, so even you know

when he gives you gifts, you once literally told him that you'd rather have him take you out for dinner

walking is being nice, it's more of a skipping

when he does invite you to dinner, you ask if it is a date

he responds that it is just a friendly hangout since you're his only friend

he's practicing his speech to you while you just stand in the doorway

because he left the office door open

and when he finishes his speech, clearly proud of himself, you answer him

is literally the sweetest

will send you texts throughout the whole day

a lot of selfies from various things through the day

has no clue what his gym selfies do to you

will always pick you up after work and bring you home

more often his then yours though

will constantly buy little trinkets that you remind him of you

you tend to do the same after awhile

some gifts get a bit weird, but it's a funny thing between you two

everyone know you're dating

because he will not shut up about you

ever

people are begging you to make him stop

it's impossible

because he wears his heart on his sleeve

he is a bit insecure sometime though

afraid that you'll leave him for someone better

because he still believes he's not worth

it's very clear when he feels like that

he'll begin with pouting if it is due to someone specifically

if not that than he'll just be sad

staring into space without any sign of being alive

it's quite terrifying actually

best case it is only a few minutes

wort case he's gone for days

usually you just stay by his side and reassure him

he does go to therapy to your request

and with each day, he gets better

more confident about himself and your relationship

Ok but picture the geumza plaza residents and Vincenzo slowly realising just how much Han Seo is affected still by the abuse and how much is ingrained in him. Like the little things such as being asked to choose what food he wants, so he chooses bland food because he's used to what he 'wants' being something completely different to his actual likes because he doesn't think his opinions matter/are better or valid and because his mind is still in 'please everyone around you by answering how you think they want you to' mode. So then slowly they realise whats going on and let him know he CAN choose for himself and his choices aren't 'wrong' so he gets happy as if he's just won the lottery (not as if he needs the money anyway lol). They all would just be baffled at the idea of someone not being used to affection at all, and it'd be a horrible wakeup call to treat Han Seo nicer

I'm just imagining them realising how much they take for granted when they present Han Seo with the smallest of kindness and he's like 'WHOA this is so cool!'

A - Attractive: What do they find attractive about each other?

Physically you are just a goddess in Hanseo’s eyes. I think he finds the most comfort and attraction in your hands though. They way they fit perfectly in his and hold his face while you look into his eyes. Godsend. Your kindness and empathic nature is also a huge attraction, especially when his brother is, well, who he is. For you, similarly, man is gorgeous, but it’s his smile, you’d kill for that smile. And his ability to be effortlessly funny. You can’t tell me this man’s himboness isn’t attractive, even if it worries you to no end.

B - Baby: Do they want a family?

Yes, but not under the circumstance he is currently in. In a world where his brother isn’t a threat to your wellbeing and safety, or your children, absolutely yes. But he’s afraid that the second it becomes clear how much you mean to him, that he wants a family with you, his brother will forcefully remove you from the picture, because you will only make things messy. That or he’ll use you and your kids as leverage to get him to the dirty work. While Hanseok is alive, the answer is no.

C - Comfort: How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

In all honesty, he’s crying with you. If you are down or having a panic attack, he’s down and having a panic attack. When I say you’re the adult in this relationship I mean it. But he does try. He’s very clueless about what to do, but he tries. And he gets the hang of it, eventually, wordlessly holding you, rubbing your back and whispering how much he loves you.

D - Dates: What are dates with him like?

Dates are rare. Again, he doesn’t want you on his brother’s radar. But when you go out, they’re very homey and calm. More often than not, they happen at his home. Typically the two of you try and cook together (more like you cook and he is banned from touching anything lest he gets hurt or blows up the kitchen) and end up watching some movie or a tv show. But regardless, you never leave feeling anything less than loved.

E - Equal: Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Sub. You are the adult. You wear the pants. Outside the bedroom. Inside is a different story. Don’t get me wrong though. As meek as he may seem, he has his moments where he does woo you by being much more dominant than usual. That one time he did the doorway lean. He may have ended up falling and splitting his eyebrow open, but he looked hot.

F - Feelings: When did they know they were in love?

The minute he knew was when he realized he wanted to be a better person for you. He wanted to be a good man. Live for you. He wanted to somehow start a completely different life where you would be safe and not out of harm's way by his side. This realization makes it apparent that he is in love with you. You realized you were in love with him when you found yourself worrying about his well-being when you hadn’t heard from him in a long period of time. The thought of his brother taking something out on him, scared you to death and you found yourself willing to take his place instead.

G - Gratitude: How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

As grateful as he can be. He grew up in a rather wealthy family so his gratitude comes mainly from the little things you do that he didn’t grow accustomed to having. The way you’ll send him a quick text just saying the most mundane thing that happens to be delivered when he really needs it the most. Or how you’ll take over doing something when he has too much on his plate without asking or saying a word. You do your best to take care of him in ways that he would never expect from anyone.

H - Honesty: Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

He has a lot of secrets. A lot. And he keeps them from you for the sake of your safety. He doesn’t want you involved in anything that poses a threat to your life. He does try to share the things that don’t fall into that category with you as often as he can, but sometimes even those are too dangerous to tell you. And it pains him to keep them from you, but he finds comfort in knowing that to some extent, if anything happens, you will at least be safe.

I - Inspiration: Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

He does try to be a better person because of you. He doesn’t want anything that he’s done to follow him for much longer. He wants to be an upstanding citizen. To have a chance to leave all of this behind and have a normal life.

J - Jealousy: Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Yes. He most certainly does get jealous very easily. He loves having all of your attention on him, and when it’s not he gets incredibly pouty. He withdraws a bit when jealous but in doing so he draws your attention to him because he’s almost never silent. And there he is looking like a sad puppy who’s been rejected by his owner. 

K - Kiss: Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

Kisses are surprisingly deep and intimate. He is always kissing you like it could be the last time he’ll get a chance to do it, because in his mind, it could very well be the last time. I do think he’d had a number of ladies by his side so he certainly knows what he’s doing when kissing you but he’s scared because it’s you. In his eyes you’re so strong, yet delicate that he doesn’t exactly know what to do. His mind is blank the first few times.

L - Love Confession: How would they confess to their s/o?

He confesses to you indirectly. Hanseok unfortunately finds out about your existence and true to Hanseo’s fear uses you as leverage. No one, and I mean no one, has ever seen Hanseo on his knees begging as much as he is to leave you out of it. To let you go and not hurt you. Because…“I love her!”

M - Marriage: Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

Again, similar to the baby entry, yes but not under these circumstances. He can’t let you get hurt or caught up in this mess. Even if you are found out, he still fears that it will only get worse the more you get involved with him. If he does work up the courage, which at some point he does, he proposes to you completely out of the blue. As for marriage life, he does his best to keep you out of everything, again. He wants to be a protector and provider. And will do his best to live up to that.

N - Nicknames: What do they call their s/o?

Him: Baby, Sweetheart, I feel like he would use some cringy nickname just because too

You: Himbo, Hanny, Dummy, also probably something cringier

O - On Cloud Nine: What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

It’s pretty obvious because he tries so hard to make it not obvious. He’s jittery and there’s not hiding the smile on his face when you text him, or how his voice changes when he’s on the phone with you. Hanseo strikes me as the type of guy who would be very physically affectionate with you. He’s like a puppy who wants to be be in direct contact with his owner all the time.

P - PDA: Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

Def not upfront (need I say why?). He doesn’t brag or even bring you up at all. He wants you to be a secret (we all know why at this point). Behind closed doors when it’s just you two though, man praises you beyond belief (I can only think of the scene from Queen Charlotte, “Oh you are beautiful. My wife is beautiful.”). Kisses you like there’s no tomorrow behind closed doors too.

Q - Quirks: Something you do that he loves

You hum when you get carried away doing something. He loves that.

R - Romance: How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

I would say pretty romantic on more special occasions, but very cliche. If something would make you happy, he’d do it in a heartbeat.

S - Support: Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

He believes in so much (as do you), and he will help you get to where you want to be as best as he can. From the sidelines or directly, depending on your own wishes.

T - Thrill: Do they need to try out new things to spice up your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

He’s not afraid to spice things up, but he does like a good routine…but if it makes things spicy…😏

U - Understanding: How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

As understanding as you can expect someone to be. He can’t always empathize because he genuinely sometimes just can’t relate because you both grew up in completely different circumstances, but when he can, trust that he is there for you.

V - Value: How important is the relationship to them? What is it worth in comparison to other things in their life?

Considering how much I have talked about him wanting to keep you out of harm's way and off his brother’s radar, I think it’s pretty clear just how much he values you. 

W - Whole: How do they feel about you being in their life?

Man is worried to death about you being in it, but he can’t see his life without you in it. He wants you there, but he feels selfish for doing so.

Y - Yearning: How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

Not very well. Separation anxiety because he could easily think something happened to you because of him. He’s constantly trying to get in contact with you just to be sure that you’re safe (until you aren’t).

Z - Zeal: Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

If it means keeping you safe and by his side, regardless of what may become of him, yes.
