I loved your beautiful ode to A Beautiful Man. (Even as someone pretty new to BL and unfamiliar with Yaoi I felt the power of that show.)
In it you wrote in passing, "Semantic Error is about perfection and ignoring all ugliness." If you have further thoughts on that I'm curious to hear them.
Thanks!
Semantic Error vs Utsukushii Kare how two BL’s tell us A LOT about Korean vs Japanese approaches to cinema
"Semantic Error is about perfection and ignoring all ugliness." (from this post)
Ah I was referring to the KBL inclination to create a perfect bubble in which being queer is not just irrelevant and unspoken, but ironically untouchable.
Tumblr media
As characters, JaeYoung and SangWoo can only exist within this bubble.
It renders their perfection unmoored and somewhat etherial feeling to viewers. As if they are the gods on pedestals that Hira is trying to turn Kiyoi into. There is no attempt to address the impossible nature of their existence. JaeYoung and SangWoo aren’t meant to be REAL in any way, they are meant to be fantastical - almost like mythical caricatures.
I say this not as criticism, Semantic Error is one of my favorite BLs of all time. But it is almost too perfect, as if we are watching the fae perform for us - ageless and immortal. It has no real grounding, no tether at all to reality. It is the ultimate escapism.
This is fine, I watch BL for the escapism. It’s why it got a 10/10 from me. But it’s also why it’s never whipped me into a verbal frenzy. It’s exactly as perfect as I always expected Korean BL to get to. It is the pinnacle of the mountain they have been climbing - but they never faltered on that path to perfection. They were always gonna make it. It’s what Hallyu does. They did it with music (Kpop). They did it with horror (Parasite, Squid Games). They’re doing it with romance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Semantic Error’s innately KBL nature renders it, in a strange way, almost the polar opposite to something like My Beautiful Man, for all they share some really stunning visual similarities in filming techniques, manga framing and staging, uses of color and light, etc...
The very perfect beauty of Semantic Error (both in visuals, execution, production, script, story arc, tropes and archetypes) is like the BL on the pedestal that A Beautiful Man is challenging within itself.
Ironically of course, My Beautiful Man, is about the harsh honest ugliness of really loving someone, Semantic Error not only has no thought to address this, by it’s very nature it could never do so, since it sits on that pedestal with nothing to tip it off (yet) and nothing to pull it down to ground (yet) because KBL is still (mostly) at the pedestal state of it’s BL journey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Korea is focused on producing perfect BL. Which I might argue they did with Semantic Error. But as nothing more than a perfect BL. Classic. Typical. The opposite of challenging. Easy. Easily enthralling and riveting.
Utsukushii Kare is work. Work to watch. Work to tolerate. Work to understand. But it’s work I enjoy.
Japan has always farted around with that kind of thing. Japan doesn't have anything to prove. But Japan has also always been one to use film to examine itself, it’s that uncompromising point of view thing I talk about and the reason people get frustrated with Japanese cinema. It’s not about anyone but Japan.
Korea is a the opposite, it’s producing its pop culture these days explicitly with an expansion agenda. It’s all about how perfectly can they hit it so they can GET us. Like, capture us. Make us watch. Make us happy. Dazzle us with their brilliance and beauty. Lure us into the fae realm, under the green hill where time passes differently.
Tumblr media
Often I think Japan wants us to be uncomfortable. Ironically, that’s why I have such faith and confidence in them.
But that’s also how they can surprise so beautifully. (Old Fashion Cupcake. Minato’s Laundromat. Gah.) They stay BL without shying away from difficult content, sometimes I think they stay BL so they can directly tackle it.
Korea is doing everything they can to keep themselves safe and idealized, or to keep up the appearance of that. It comes off as disingenuous at worse, unfixed and fantastical at best. Semantic Error was all this, but correct, almost mathematical. I admire the precision art of it and the targeted intent.
They are both master manipulators and I like watching manipulators at work.
But with Korea there’s always a part of me that’s like, “I see you doing it. I see what you did there. Very good.” I’m noticing how good they are.
And with Japan, occasionally, I forget to notice. I’m still surprised. Even knowing what they are capable of. Even living in the shadow of 15 years of BLs. They can still surprise.

Tampopo (1985)
You have a particular memory that is deeply attached to a specific food. We all do. For better or worse it brings us back there. Our relationship with food is numerous. Food is: culture, class, indulgence, erotic, danger, comfort, memory. Juzo Itami's Tampopo is a film about food. Not particularly a reflection on food but rather the ways in which individuals are reflected by the food they eat.
Tumblr media
Tampopo predominantly tells the story of a down on her luck ramen shop owner of the same name struggling to maintain herself and her son after the passing of her husband. One day her unwanted suitor and his accompanying unwanted gang of lackeys are making themselves a nuisance whereupon our rugged but kind hero, Goro, rides in on his truck and then casts the goons out from her shop. This is the story that makes up most of Tampopo. It is not however the only story Tampopo tells. Throughout the film various small segments are interspersed throughout which expand on and explore Japan and it's food culture. This is among my favorite segments.
The Business Lunch
This segment follows a group of Japanese business men sitting down to a formal lunch together at an upscale French restaurant consisting of what appears to be a mixed group of high level executives, senior employees, and a junior employee at least half of their age which seems to be their whipping boy. As the waiter hands them their menus the executive and senior employees are taken aback, there is not a single word of Japanese on the entire page, not even a letter of katakana. Visible panic makes its way across their faces with one of them even falling victim to a twitch, only the junior employee seems to calmly but intently working his way through the menu. The oldest of the executives when first asked for his order claims he isn't very hungry and defers to another senior employee who orders the sole meuniere, consommé, and a Heineken (lightly grilled fish, broth, and beer). All the men after him place the same order, that is until the waiter arrives at the youngest employee. As he carefully reads the menu the most junior employee asks questions about every dish he intends to order and himself displays extensive and intimate knowledge of French cuisine and even the contemporary Parisian restaurant scene until finally deciding on the quenelles, escargot pastry, apple and walnut salad, all paired with Corton Charlemagne (a white wine). Each and every one of his superiors is left completely red in the face with embarrassment.
This scene puts on display and makes jest at so many of the common tropes of Japanese business. All business in this context is governed by appearance. European and by extension French cuisine serves as not something that these men necessarily want but feel inclined towards in order to maintain themselves as well informed and sophisticated. The silliest aspect of this is that the senior employee who sets down the order for the table and seems to have his order already memorized defaults on familiarity and orders a rough approximation of what one might presume he eats in his own time fairly frequently which is lightly grilled fish, a broth rich soup, and beer. The youngest employee at the table eschews the standard by placing on display his full skills as a gourmand as he orders, much to the chagrin of his senior who is so keenly aware of the embarrassment felt by himself and all the others at the table that he kicks his subordinate as he's ordering which in no ways deters him at all.
Food in this scene is remarked upon in the language of class and industrialism. French cuisine is not something that genuinely interests a majority of the business men present in this scene but rather functions as emblematic of a particular relationship between food and worldliness which they feel is a reflection of the makeup of their professional competence. I would like to try the quenelles.
Tumblr media
I don't feel it's difficult to tell that this is one of my favorite films. I love Tampopo. There's so much I could say about nearly every part of this film and I didn't even discuss my favorite segment which was the Peking Duck Reverse Hustle. The only scenes which I skip over are the one in which the soft shell turtle is prepared and the pleasure of the shrimp. I love food. I love cooking. Throughout most of the break I've been struggling with a flu and have had little time to do much of what I hoped to. The day I decided to watch Tampopo with my roommate I was so set on cooking l I couldn't help myself. I decided on fried chicken sandwiches. I used a fairly simple recipe but made some general modifications according to my own tastes. In place of flour I used a mix of potato and corn starch because of how crispy my tonkatsu was with a similar mix and I added hot sauce to the dredge in order to add some kick. I didn't use enough oil so my chicken stuck quite a bit to the bottom and some pieces retained a few burnt marks and the oil darkened rather quickly. It was still quite good.

Definition and Definition of Film / Movie While the players who play a role in the film are referred to as actors (men) or actresses (women). There is also the term extras that are used as supporting characters with few roles in the film. This is different from the main actors who have bigger and more roles. Being an actor and an actress must be demanded to have good acting talent, which is in accordance with the theme of the film he is starring in. In certain scenes, the actor’s role can be replaced by a stuntman or a stuntman. The existence of a stuntman is important to replace the actors doing scenes that are difficult and extreme, which are usually found in action action films. Films can also be used to convey certain messages from the filmmaker. Some industries also use film to convey and represent their symbols and culture. Filmmaking is also a form of expression, thoughts, ideas, concepts, feelings and moods of a human being visualized in film. The film itself is mostly a fiction, although some are based on fact true stories or based on a true story. There are also documentaries with original and real pictures, or biographical films that tell the story of a character. There are many other popular genre films, ranging from action films, horror films, comedy films, romantic films, fantasy films, thriller films, drama films, science fiction films, crime films, documentaries and others. That’s a little information about the definition of film or movie. The information was quoted from various sources and references. Hope it can be useful.

❍❍❍ TV FILM ❍❍❍
The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1936 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 19340 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 19440 World MOVIE inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 1948, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “”Mr Television”” and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 1951 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets. The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season.
❍❍❍ formats and genres ❍❍❍
See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional MOVIE). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed] A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 1980s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 1980s, many MOVIE feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television MOVIE to have this kind of dramatic structure,[4][better source needed] while the later MOVIE Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intendevd five-season run.[citvatio””&n needed] In 2007, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2007, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “”I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television.

ULRIKE OTTINGER
Tumblr media
Mercredi 21 octobre à 19h (heure de Paris)
Wednesday October 21, 7pm (Paris time)
We hope you and your loved ones are well and safe. This seminar will take place online via Zoom The number of attendees is limited, please register at this address if you wish to attend: [email protected]
[EN] Ulrike Ottinger was born in Konstanz in 1942. She lived in Paris from 1962 to 1969 as a painter and photographer, where she also wrote her first film script Die mongolische Doppelschublade. Graphic works originated at the Atelier Friedländer. She returned to Germany in 1969, where she founded the filmclub Visuell in cooperation with the Universität Konstanz and the galeriepress (in which she presented Wolf Vostell, Allan Kaprow, R. B. Kitaj, Richard Hamilton, David Hockney).
Her first film, Laocoon and Sons, made in collaboration with Tabea Blumenschein, was recorded in 1971-1973. In 1973 she moved to Berlin and filmed the Happening-documentary Berlinfever – Wolf Vostell. It was followed by The Enchantment of the Blue Sailors in 1975 with Valeska Gert, and by Madame X – An Absolute Ruler in 1977, which was an international success. Work on the Berlin Trilogy, Ticket of No Return, (Bildniseiner Trinkerin,1979),  Freak Orlando (1981) and Dorian Grey in the YellowPress (Dorian Grey im Spiegel der Boulevardpresse, 1984) began in 1979. She was able to win Delphine Seyrig, Magdalena Montezuma, Veruschka von Lehndorff, Eddie Constantine and Kurt Raab, as well as the composer Peer Raben for these  works, which were filmed in industrial wastelands and alienated urban landscapes.
The collaboration between Delphine Seyrig and Ulrike Ottinger was part of the exhibition Defiant Muses (curators : Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez & Giovanna Zapperi) at the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid
In addition to fictional films, Ulrike Ottinger also devoted herself to documentary film. Intensive and comprehensive research characterizes all her films from China. The Arts – The People (China. Die Künste – Der Alltag, 1985) to Exile Shanghai (1997), from Southeast Passage (2002, exhibited at Okwui Enwezor’s Documenta 11) to Prater (2007), from The Korean Wedding Chest, to Under Snow filmed in the Japanese Snow Country Echigo. For her film Chamisso’s Shadow (2016) Ulrike Ottinger travelled for three months along the Bering Sea, tracing the paths taken by the great 18th and 19th C explorers. This is her longest documentary to date (12 hours); the accompanying exhibition took place in the National Library in Berlin.
Ottinger's most recent film, Paris Calligrammes, premiered in the spring of 2020 and in Paris on October 6. Both her films and her photographic work have been shown in numerous retrospectives and exhibitions, including at the Venice Biennale (1980), at the Cinémathèque française, Paris (1980, 1982), at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2000, 2004), as well as the Centre Pompidou, the Sammlung Goetz. Her Hannah-Höch-Award 2011 was accompanied by a retrospective including her paintings at the nbk,Berlin (2011 12) and her worldimages were shown at the kestnergesellschaft in Hannover (2013).
In Paris, the Eric Mouchet Gallery is currently presenting an exhibition: Ulrike Ottinger, Go Always Return.

❍❍❍ Definition and Definition of Film / Movie ❍❍❍ While the players who play a role in the film are referred to as actors (men) or actresses (women). ❍❍❍ TV MOVIE ❍❍❍ The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1935 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 19340 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 2020 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets. The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1955, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season. ❍❍❍ Formats and Genres ❍❍❍ See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. Before the 2020s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 2020s, many MOVIE feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television MOVIE to have this kind of dramatic structure,[4][better source needed] while the later MOVIE Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intendevd five-season run.[citvatio””&n needed] In 2020, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2020, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “”I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television. ❍❍❍ Thank’s For All And Happy Watching❍❍❍ Find all the movies that you can stream online, including those that were screened this week. I read a long time ago that the Korean Unification church (cult)/Sun Myung Moon owns and runs most of the sushi restaurants in the US
Ooh, I’m glad someone brought this up. Buckle up because this is some weird American food history. The above is not quite accurate. The Tongil group, the business arm of the Unification Church, has been one of the main suppliers of sushi grade fish to sushi restaurants in the US through its subsidiary True World Groups since the 70s. For what it’s worth, many Japanese business owners in the US during the 80s were also part of Unification Church. I should note that Sun Myung Moon died in 2012.
The 70s and 80s were not a great time to be East Asian in the US because Toyota’s American debut made many East Asian passing people easy targets for hate crimes and discrimination. Toyota’s arrival in the US was seen as extremely detrimental to the flagging American auto industry. I think this is part of what made Unification Church quite popular with E. Asian immigrants, especially since Moon was very vocal against racism. To what degree Moon kept his profit-based and non-profit activities separate is debateable. He was jailed in 1982 for falsifying federal income tax records. Quite notably, many prominent American religious organizations protested his conviction fearing that they too could be targetted on the same grounds (Make of that what you will). I’m not sure how closely related Tongil and TWG remains with the Unification Church since Moon’s death. His children seem to either be fighting for control of the businesses or control of the church. More bizarrely, several of the sons are currently out in E. Pennsylvania running an end-of-times church that touts guns and theocracy.
What’s quite certain is that without TWG’s business activities, sushi would not have been popularized in the US to the degree that it was, and even Japanese-owned sushi restaurants in the US not affiliated with the Unification Church indirectly benefitted from the infrastructure that TWG and Tongil created.
Personally, I don’t like religious organizations using capitalist consumption to advance their causes, but if we’re going to quibble on that point, people shouldn’t be eating at Chik-Fil-A, whose founders regularly use their wealth to promote homophobic political agendas. Or In-N-Out, which prints bible verses on their packaging, Or use the Marriot, whose founder is a prominent Mormon and regularly donates to his church. Or watch a movie starring any actor who is prominent in the Scientology movement. Cults are an unfortunate consequence of freedom of religion, but regardless of a person’s beliefs, we all need to pay bills and we all need to eat. Like it or not, the Unification Church is part of why Americans now eat sushi.

#1 - Reggie; 2D Graphics; Tetris!
Hello! Bonjour! Salaam! Namaste! こんばんは!
Welcome to the first edition of Games ‘R’ Fun, a weekly digest of the best gaming articles from throughout the week. I’ve created this newsletter to fend off the feeling that gaming should be about hate, outrage, or any of those silly petty feuds that fuel Twitter like sun fuels plants. Instead we'll concentrate on the nice things about gaming. Why? Because it's more fun, that's why :-) It’s still Work in Progress but hopefully I’ll iron out kinks over the next weeks, months, years and millenniums. For now, enjoy this week’s selection.

Digital Foundry on Tetris ~ Video Have you ever done something so much you’ve ended up dreaming about it? If so, you’ve encountered a phenomenon known as the ‘Tetris Effect’. No, it’s not just the name of Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s latest take on the series released last week, it’s actually a real life thing where our habits affect the way we think. Evergreen YouTube presenters Digital Foundry have seen fit to use the release of the new game to return to the roots of the series, in this visual tour guiding us from the series’ origins in 1984 all the way to the present day. Designing 2D Graphics in the Japanese Industry ~ Article As somebody with no artistic talent, the concept of graphic design has always fascinated me. How sprites are created, illustrated and animated seems almost like magic, but really it's a simple process involving keyboards, joysticks, light pens, mice and something called 'digitization'. Yep I'm still not sure how it works but it sounds fascinating, as illustrated in superb detail in this brilliant article from VGDensetsu. Read ~

The Best Selling Games of the Past 23 Years ~ Feature Despite not being loved by every gamer, the popularity of series like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto is hard to question. It’s harder still because it’s now been revealed that both series have dominated almost half of the top-sold games over the past twenty three years. That’s a lot of $$$ for Rockstar and Activision but what are the other games that sold best in their respective year of release? Click here to find out. 1995 may surprise you! Read ~

Void Bastards is Coming! ~ Just Announced If you’ve been wondering what would happen if XCOM and System Shock 2 had a baby then wonder no more. Void Bastards has been announced and it looks amazing. It’s the brainchild of Jonathan Chey, formerly of Looking Glass (Thief) and Irrational Games (Bioshock). I’m struggling to understand exactly how it’ll work but apparently it’s some kind of ‘medium complexity’ hybrid between strategy and action (so a lot like XCOM then). Read ~

Local Fast Food Chain-Guidelines
What's the Best Local Fast Food Chain? If you're looking for the best food in your area, a fast-food chain may be just what you're looking for. Fortunately, there are plenty of options available to suit all tastes. Here are a few popular chains you may want to try. Let's look at some of the best in each state: Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out Burger, and Panda Express. If you wish to learn more about this, visit best burger and fries near me.
Tumblr media
A local fast food chain may not be as popular as a chain, but they have a unique appeal. A typical Chinese or Japanese fast food chain is a combination of familiar fast-food chains and traditional dishes. In Beijing, there's the Teremok, which specializes in cooked-to-order blini, with classic toppings such as shaved carrots and cucumber. Another popular Chinese fast-food chain is Dai pai dong, which serves rice-and-beans, and has a wide range of options for desserts.
A local fast-food chain may have a similar problem. While a Western fast-food chain might advertise convenient locations and fast service, customers want more. They want a dining experience that's Instagram-worthy. People are less interested in fast-food routines and more into unique, personal experiences. A local-style restaurant can offer a better experience, as well as a sense of community. It's easy to find the perfect local-style eatery in your town. Regardless of the size of a city's fast-food industry, the local fast food chain may be the best option for a quick bite to eat in the city. Many people live in small towns and cities, so a local-style fast-food chain might be the best choice. If your local fast-food chain isn't available, you might want to consider a new place to dine. They may offer better food options than what you're used to. A local-style fast-food chain might be better for the environment than a fast-food chain in another town. The same goes for the quality of the food you're eating. In the United States, a local-style restaurant will be a great option for the environment. It will be more environmentally friendly and support the local economy. The quality of the beef will be much higher than that of a chain in a smaller town.
Tumblr media
While a local fast-food chain may be more environmentally friendly, it will probably not be as healthy for the environment. The food that is served is more important than the company itself. It will be able to give its customers the best experience possible. It will also be more ethical and sustainable. The fast-food industry is a very popular target for critics, but it has a positive side: a local fast-food chain can be a good place for a quick lunch. Regardless of your location, there are many great local fast-food chains in your area. From Shake Shack to In-N-Out, regional fast-food chains can be a great place to go for lunch. Moreover, you can also find many other restaurants in your area that are not part of a chain. These places may be more unique than those of national-chains. In addition to serving tasty and affordable food, a local fast-food chain can even be a cultural icon in the region.

Reading — Object-oriented Design. I'm giving myself a refresher since I'll be applying for jobs this month & I've been kinda MIA in my industry lol. Next reading: refresher in cloud applications ;u;
Writing — My resume? Lol I actually finished writing it up, I'm just having a few edits and proofreading before sending it out. Wish me luck! xo
Listening — Acoustic Covers of Popular Songs in Spotify
Watching — Law School ended last week & what a ride that was! Also can I just say that I wish I had a solhwi closure but pd-nim decided to stick with the "this is not a romance drama" plan ;_; Anyway, I've been living off multiple fmvs from clip crumbs just to satisfy my need for a romantic solhwi closure. Tragic, I know.
Right now, I'm watching the latest talk of the town: Trese. I just finished Ep. 3 and I'm liking the story line so far. The animation definitely looks like western animes (idk the right term but it's definitely not anime, so gomen) — not a bad thing btw, at least for me. The way it was drawn gives a certain Filipino touch. The main issue I have is (like everyone has already pointed out) the Filipino dubbing for the main character, Alexandra Trese. I have yet to immerse myself fully in the fil dub since I've been watching it using different dubs just to try things. So far, the nihongo dub sits at the top.
Thinking — Of where I want to go from here
Smelling — Turon since it's just at arm's length from me lol
Wishing — For a more fruitful & productive 192 days! (That's the rest of the year, btw ;u;) I just want to be productive in all aspect and kickstart whatever it is I need to start to gain momentum for next year. I still haven't figured everything out but I am reminding myself to take it one day at a time, with a hope for the future in mind.
Right now, I want to start a new job, apply for masters, slowly make way for a sort of career shift (by learning via online courses) and try building a business. I know it's a lot to put in my plate but I think it's important to keep challenging myself into discovering what I can do & give my best to while I still can :)
Hoping — I'll land a job this month!!!! #claimingit!
Wearing — A white tank top and blue floral border shorts (typical)
Loving — My new meow illustration washi tapes! Super loved the neutrals + brown tones, couldn't get enough of it tbh. I feel like I will use it all the time (which is actually a good thing) hahaha
Wanting — More stamps, washi tapes and stickers (deco + transfer ones) ;_; I promised myself that I'll checkout my journal pages cart once I land a job #reward
Needing — JAPANESE FOOD omg I've been craving for a few days now!!!! My sister and I ate at Yayoi last week but it's still not enough! I want more Japanese food, particularly sukiyaki & sashimi UGHHHhhHhHhelp
Clicking — Still looking for online courses I could purchase (but still hoping there's a free one) for studying :)
