Rosh HaShana 5783 does not celebrate the creation of the world but rather the number of years since the creation of Adam and Eve.
In Judaism it is people that are important.

Rosh Hashanah, literally the “head of the year”, is the Jewish New Year and it starts tonight at sundown (7:24 PM) and goes for 2 days until sundown on Tuesday, September 27th. It is a time of inner renewal, introspection, divine atonement, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year. Big feasts for dinner is one way to celebrate. The traditional sweet treat is apples dipped in honey, symbolic of a wish for a sweet year. Finding out a few years ago that I have Jewish DNA really means a lot to me! I'm trying to learn more about the feasts, celebrations and holidays and know more about my heritage. ✡🇮🇱✡🇮🇱✡🇮🇱✡🇮🇱✡🇮🇱✡🇮🇱✡🇮🇱✡ For my fellow Jewish friends: L'Shanah Tovah Umetukah! 🍎🍯 Barukh atah Adonai, Eloheinu, melekh ha'olam shehecheyanu v'kiyimanu v'higi'anu laz'man hazeh. (Amein) Blessed are you, Lord, our God, sovereign of the universe who has kept us alive, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this season (Amen) #RoshHashana #RoshHashanah #JewishNewYear #NewYear #Introspection #Jewish #ProudToBeJewish #Reflection #Change #Freedom #GodWillRestore #LShanaTova #LShanahTovah #IHaveJewishDNA #AshkenaziJew #BarukhAtahAdonai #ApplesAndHoney #Celebrate #Feasts https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci8yVyNN-VT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Did you know that carrots are one of the traditional symbolic foods for Rosh Hashanah? Here they are, cooked and softened and seasoned with ginger, cloves, cinnamon and pepper for a lovely, velvety soup. Just in time for the holidays. 📯 Discover the Shofar /sho-'far/ שׁוֹפָר - A Symbol of Rosh Hashanah 🍏🍯
The sounding of the Shofar is a sacred commandment, one of the 613 /meets-'vot/ מִצְווֹת in Judaism. It's an integral part of the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, also known as the "Day of Trumpeting" and "Remembrance of the Shofar Blast." 🌅🎺
The Significance:
The Shofar is a ram's horn that holds a special place in Jewish law, folklore, and thought. 🐏🎶
Biblical Origins:
The commandment to hear the Shofar is derived from the Torah, where Rosh Hashanah is referred to as a "day of blowing the horn" (Numbers 29:1). The Torah, however, doesn't specify how this should be done, leaving room for interpretation.
The Shofar's Multiple Symbolic Meanings:
1. Coronation of God: The Shofar symbolizes the coronation of God as the King of the universe.
2. A Call to Repentance: Its sound serves as a call to repentance and return to a righteous path.
3. Recollection of Mount Sinai: It's a reminder of the revelation at Mount Sinai when the sound of the Shofar accompanied the giving of the Ten Commandments.
4. Remembrance of the Prophets: The Shofar is likened to the sound of the prophets, symbolizing their messages.
5. Reflection on the Destruction of the Temple: It also evokes the memory of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
Whether you're hearing the Shofar for the first time or a seasoned observer, its powerful sound carries a deep message of reflection, renewal, and spiritual awakening.
May this Rosh Hashanah bring blessings and a sweet year ahead for all. 🌟🍏🍯

Wishing everyone a sweet and joyous Rosh Hashanah!
As we welcome the Jewish New Year from September 15th to September 17th, let's reflect on the past year and embrace new beginnings.
May the sounding of the shofar resonate with hope, and may the traditional apples dipped in honey symbolize a year filled with blessings and prosperity.
During this sacred time, let's come together with loved ones, seek forgiveness, and set intentions for a year ahead that's filled with happiness, health, and harmony.
Shanah Tovah! #RoshHashanah #JewishNewYear #SweetBeginnings #AliciaCouri #AudaciousConfidence #Influence #Educate #Inspire #Entertain
