impulsively made designs for the voices! they're kind of more like concepts so they're likely to change if I get better ideas for them. I didn't want to make them too complex and give them pinterest outfits lol (I might do that another time though). notes for each voice under the cut!
Hero: I was kind of inspired when a friend said they'd picture that Hero would have similar armor to Artorias from Dark Souls, partially the reason I started drawing the voices
Contrarian: the first thought was to make him a jester, but I thought that's what people would usually imagine him as. so I gave him something more modern to stand apart from the rest of the voices where they're all medieval-ish. also the only voice with a completely round head and the only one without a lower eyelid. he looks silly too so bonus points for that. Contrarian can open his other eye, the diamond on his face is like a tattoo of sorts lol. The X on his chest is a reference to the Razor when he skewers himself (or ourself but same difference)
Stubborn: the first one I actually tried to design. I had the idea of giving a sharper, more prominent chin to the voices who seem more likely to resort to violence. the only idea I had for him was his arms so I had to google and this is the best I could come up with
Hunted: my first roadblock. I was clueless and even considered leaving him as just the base form, but a friend suggested giving him a bandana on his neck, so I did that. a little later I decided to make him fluffy instead of giving him clothes and it took a bit to figure out how to do that
Cold: I found an outfit while I was looking for ideas for Stubborn and I thought it was perfect for Cold. my original idea was just a scarf, but I really liked what I found. don't mind the bad posing by the way lmao, I had an idea for a separate art piece but executed that very poorly so now it's part of the design drawings
Smitten: I got some inspiration from Reverse 1999 for this one actually, but the idea was a little too similar to Hero so I mixed that in with something a bard might wear and gave him a funny feathery hat
Paranoid: I drew him before this post and nothing changed from there. the eye on his hood is one sided and there's nothing else underneath. I don't know how to fit all the details in a pose that would make sense so I'll make another post later lol
Broken: in the Tower route pledging yourself kind of was like becoming a priest for her or something so I gave him the first thing I saw on pinterest when I was looking for priest like clothes. there's a shard of glass connecting the cloak together. he also has stab wounds on his torso from the Tower route
Skeptic: so the last three I struggled to think of designs for so much. he has a scar on his neck from just before the Drowned Grey route where giving him the knife would get him to slit the player's throat. the outfit was inspired by something I found on pinterest and thought the chain going across could somewhat be like the chain going around the player's neck
Cheated: this took the longest to figure out and I gave up on thinking of something. I just gave him whatever outfit I could find on pinterest I thought that would fit him lmao. the only thing I managed to think of was putting bandages around his wrist. he has a scar under the bandages from the Razor
Opportunist: I don't know what I was thinking when I designed him or his clothes. I think he just kind of gave me merchant vibes so I tried going for that and gave him a silly hat. he's definitely not hiding a blade behind his back. the coin was just an extra thing I thought of adding. I ran out of paper space on the page and didn't want to put Opportunist on a different page all by himself so he's the only one without a full body drawing, but it wouldn't make much of a difference if it was a full body

—E-Chan
Yall are going to see the boys “Babe, we’re gonna be late!” he yells from downstairs. “I dont think this looks good though!” you yell back. You hear him coming up the stairs and you try to hide. Before you could hide, he comes in. He stands there, his mouth agape, “You look amazing baby!” You look at him and smile, “Thank you, now lets go!”
—D1
You were currently getting ready for a date with your lovely boyfriend. He was currently waiting for you in his car. You take another look at yourself in the mirror and purse your lips. You decide to go with it because hes waiting. As you get in the car, he hugs you and kisses your cheek,, “i love your outfit!” You smile and thank him.
—Teo
Hes taking you to an amusement park!! He decided to walk in on you getting ready. “Are you ready?” He asks walking up behind you. “I think so..” You draw your words out. He decided to SMACK YOUR ASS. So what do you do? You smack his. After you’re done all that he asks “Is that my belt? it looks cute on you.” He smiles.
—GK
Youre going out for boba! So you decide to dress a lil differently! you find one of gks button up shirts so you put that on with some jeans. As you go downstairs you are startled to see him but you remember, yeah, he has a key. He hugs you and spins you in a circle. “You’re so pretty.” You thank him and you guys are on your way!
—Heechan
You havent seen him in a couple weeks so you decide to head over to the dorms! You enter and what a suprise, Heechan and GK are on the couch, watching tv. He sees you and he smiles widely. He looks you up and down and raises his eyebrows. “Cute.” he whispers under his breath and you kiss his cheek.
—Lune
Youre going stargazing with Lune! So, you decide to put on something other than a dress or skirt. You put on a button up shirt with jeans and sneakers because why not? You guys were just going out to a park to look at stars anyways pfft. When you guys meet up at the park you see him with pringles and drinks. His jaw drops. (in a good way!) “You should dress like this more often, love.” he says quietly.
—Junseo
Junseo invited you over to dance! You obviously agreed! (who wouldn’t lmao) So you decide to dress comfortably but still somewhat formal. You arrive at the building and entered to see him there! He ran towards you and almost crushed you with a hug. You laugh and hug him back. He lets go and smiles at you, “You look so adorable.” he says. You thank him and he leads you to the practice studio thing.
—Yuku
Yuku wanted to teach you some japanese! He decided he would come over to your house. You saw some outfit inspiration on pinterest so you decided to look through your closet and find something similar. As you opened the door for him, he set everything down and hugged you. “You look so nice in that.” He said while blushing (omg pls)
—HarryJune
You guys were studying together! So you put on something different. The outfit looked like a casual suit basically. You quadruple checked your outfit and decided that it was alright. As your sister dropped you off at the library, you saw Rijune outside, most likely waiting for you. As he saw you he raised his eyebrows and got shy. You got nervous. “Do I look alright?” You asked. He smiled and nodded, “You look beyond perfect.”

Surprise it’s a tutorial!
Because @tenacious-scripturient and @agnodice-writes asked for help making characters earlier and it just so happened that I need to design a character RIGHT NOW I thought I’d do a bit of a tutorial while I do it? I’ve never done something like this so I hope it works.
1) Inspiration - Last night I watched the original Charlie’s Angels and I remembered my absolute love for the Creepy Thin Man. Since I am always making more evil men and my story needs an evil man I’m taking some of the aspects of that character for my own. I’m going to take the sharp look and the nonverbal characteristics while dumping the hair pulling, screaming, and smoking.
Tumblr media
You can take your inspiration from just a look, from an art piece, from someone you know, or from other characters you have. If you have a film character that can be helpful to draw you back to the basics if you ever get away from them. You can also combine multiple inspirations and make them one.
2) Image- This part is so much fun for me and I’m hoping that it is for others too! I personally draw my characters but creating some imagery for your character can be done through picrew, pinterest (hiss), faceclaims, or video game character creations! While I draw my character I try to imagine things about them. Here’s a 3 minute sketch of my character
Tumblr media
His face is a lot softer than the inspiration, he’s got a kinder personality and is far more patient. He has terrible posture, which lets me know how he sits and stands and gives me a hint as to how to write his idle motions. He has this loose sort of Bluth hair and he’s not wearing a full suit like the other characters in the story are, so he’s a lot more casual than they are. He’s wearing a turtleneck so there may be something that he’s hiding about his throat or he just knows he looks good in them. If your character has scars or tattoos or anything like that, this could be a good step to figure out where they came from. I definitely find this step the most useful for coming up with backstories and the like.
(A secret step to this that I find helpful is having a friend who you know will find the character super hot. Instant validation)
Things to keep in mind
the world - there are blogs and pinterest folders and all sorts of things based off of aesthetics! If you’re writing a western, you should keep an eye on western blogs! If you’re writing fantasy, keep an eye on @armthearmour and blogs of that ilk! Having a character that greatly clashes with the setting can work but it has to be shown as an oddity or you’re writing about space travel or something.
the story - If you’re writing an action/adventure story, having your character in a dress and heels doesn’t really make sense. Writing a story about the rise and fall of corporate life could be awkward if your lead always wears baggy lounge wear. Keep in mind what they’re going to be doing and the pros and cons of their outfitting for the setting.
the character’s aesthetics - What is your character like and what sort of things do they carry with them? Do they wear clothes that they should probably get in trouble for? Are they trying to distract or bring attention to something? Do they always wear the same color? Is there something sentimental that they always have with them?
the character’s job - My personal aesthetic does not pair well with my work uniform but I understand the importance of my work clothes (sometimes). The fact that I wear a button up, a name tag, and nice jeans makes it easier for customers to recognize me as an employee. Can I sneak some jewelry and as many skulls as possible into there? Not always. A character may not like what they have to wear, but that can tell us a lot about them and can come into play if they are working in the story.
Tumblr media
3) Names - There are a lot of different ways to go about naming your characters. There are a million baby names sites and there’s also generators. Usually, by this point of the character creation I have an idea as to what I want their name to be, just from learning about them, but I often make my names up instead of going with realistic ones. If you’re making up names though, you have to make up everyone’s names, or most of them, otherwise it will be jarring every time your character’s name is said and can create a “spot the protagonist” situation. Since my character is a hitman, he needs both a name and a code name. Luckily the code name was super easy since all of the other guards that he’s blending with have animal code names so he became Jackal.
Remember that friend that thinks our character is hot? They can be super useful here. Come up with a couple names, for this guy I’m thinking.... Jack (duh), Jacopo, Raffaele, or Giorgio. And just like that he became Italian! That’s a new development! For the main character of the story Jackal is from I ran a poll on twitter and 15 out of 16 people voted for Anson, so that’s why I went with that for the main characters name!
Tumblr media
4) Worksheets - I haven’t seen people use worksheets for their characters but when I was new to writing I filled out worksheets for my characters obsessively. I still do now, I guess, but without the actual form. They make you think of all these little details for your character, including their backstory! A worksheet can also be useful as a quick reference guide for your characters in the middle of the story if you forget the name of a spouse or of some location they’ve been. Here are a few worksheets to fill out if you find that useful! epiguide | novel software | freelance writing
Tumblr media
5) Backstory - For this I would recommend working backwards. For Jackal here, I know that he’s a hitman, he’s nonverbal, he is terribly soft but that’s all hidden away, and he’s gay (of course). So I have to explain how he came to be these things or how he came to realize them. Most hitmen take on the job for economic reasons, so I have to figure out what the factors were for that. I’m going to go with a family member being terribly sick with no hope of recovery with the families current finances, which also explains his secret softness. He will kill, it’s business, he doesn’t see his targets as people as such since that will make it hard to complete a contract, but all of his money is going to the hospital and, if he has to deal with someone in a similar situation it may affect him differently. He’s nonverbal because (just researched this and I’m sorry if I’m wrong) he suffered some brain damage before he was born which affects his breathing. This leads to my decision that this damage occurred when his mother came down with the disease aforementioned and now I know that there are breathing problems involved with this form of nonverbalism which may come into play in the story. His being gay? Well, I don’t need to figure out how that came to be since that’s not how being gay works, but he probably realized that he was gay while on a job, falling, not for a target, but for an employer. And just like that I have a slightly cliche but still decent start to a backstory!
Tumblr media
6) Asks - ask games, talking about your characters, and just open conversation can help you come up with minor details about your character. Yesterday I was asked what kind of candy my characters like and how they feel about Christmas in November. Will my characters celebrate Christmas in story or eat candy? Probably not but having to come up on the spot with an answer for these questions still taught me things about the characters. I learned that Anson loves nostalgia and has no interest in decorating for himself. And I learned that Jackal has very good control over his sugar intake, is more fond of bitter flavors, and is annoyed by the inequality of America’s Christian obsession. These are aspects of personality and those will effect the story more than what the actual answer to the question was will.
Tumblr media
That’s a lot longer than intended! Hopefully me walking through my process for creating this character will be helpful for you! I know I know a lot more about this guy than I did before I started!

Your art is extremely inspiring! At the moment, I'm having a bit of an art block (traditional art) in regards of my classwork. How do you usually go through your idea -> planning -> sketching process?
Hi @godspuppet, Thank you so much and sorry for taking so long with this response because it is a very complex topic so…buckle up:
What really helps me is having a place where I save all the images that inspire me. I have an inspiration blog on tumblr and an inspiration pinterest. You should constantly feed your brain with new exciting things to look at, the things that you like the most will stick in your brain and might come out at point when you are trying to come up with an idea. It’s a good idea to not only look at the images you like but also copy them. And not like copy them and then post it as your own work but copy as a study. The copying shouldn’t be just mechanical work where you draw with your favourite song on in the background, your brain should be really focused trying to understand what makes this artwork so great, what makes you love it, what sort of techniques and themes you could apply to your work? Now you looked at your inspiration blogs but you still can’t come up with a good idea, a thing that helps me is cooking or going for a walk with some good music on to let my mind wonder and fantasise about things. This is where all the practical work you did (the images you remembered and copied) will help you manifest an idea. It’s good when you have certain themes that help you narrow down your ideas. For example for Huevember I’m focusing on supernatural beings, fashion and trying out different art techniques - these are my idea frames. I won’t be drawing a simple human, the human shape has to distorted in a way or should represent something fictional. I go to my fashion blogs and look at outfits I like. The recent skeleton boy was a combination of me loving child skeletons (well skeleton in general) and transparent raincoats, the pumpkin idea came along because my color was orange and Halloween was recently. The egg man was originally going to be a transparent yellow blob. When I thought of the color yellow that was the image I got in my head, I had to put that blob into a pair of pants. I also wanted to draw those funky shoes. Making him into an egg was an accidental thing, it wasn’t planned, I came up with it while painting the sketch and I’m really happy I kept that accidental idea. And it’s really impossible to know what triggered that idea but it’s obviously something from past experiences of looking at eggs and enjoying how they look xD
Tumblr media
(PS.: if tumblr is shrinking this image, just do the open image in a new tab)I have more Huevember sketches but they are all scattered around different notebooks and random pieces of paper. Now once you have a general idea of what you want (or even if you don’t), it’s important to learn to conquer that empty page. The beginning is always the hardest part (unless you really have that clear vision but even then you might not have the skill to complete it). Just start sketching, anything at all. The sketches can be messy and boring but after some time, an accidental sketch can feed a whole line of new ideas, but you will never make that ‘happy accident’ if you don’t try making something. Creativity is a super complex topic, sorry if I went too long explaining things xD I have to note that creativity is also a struggle for me, but the more I present my mind with interesting content and practice the easier it is to come up with interesting ideas. It was much more difficult in the past.

⋆ ° ⟡ has ADDISON SAINT-CLARE, the FIRST DAUGHTER from THE UNITED STATES arrived yet? i heard they can be quite BELLIGERENT, but also RESOLUTE. there’s rumours they’ve come to genovia for TO ESCAPE HER DIVORCE DRAMA AND TO REINVIGORATE HER DESIGN INSPIRATION, but you never know. DEEP RED LIPSTICK STAINS, GLIMPSES OF BLACK LACE LINGERIE BENEATH UNBUTTONED BLOUSES, and THE ABANDONED HEELS AT 4 AM always remind me of them.
FAMILY
*** some of this might change after plotting
“How has your family changed since your mother came into office?” A question asked many times to Addison and Theodore after Rosa Saint-Clare came into office, and though Addison is know to always have been elusive and shrewd towards the press her answer here wasn’t just dismissive. “It’s as if nothing’s changed at all.” She would say because her mother was after all a politician long before she ran for the highest office in the country. Because President Saint-Clare was under the lens right from the start when she took on the role of county commissioner at the age of 20, and her family came long after that even.
Addison never got along with her mother, always daddies little girl having her father wrapped around her fingers from the start. As a little girl she had quite the flair for dramatics a trait that doesn’t present itself so plainly anymore however there somewhere nonetheless. She grew up seeing her mother prioritizing her platform over all else and back then she couldn’t really appreciate just how prolific the work she was doing was, she simply wanted her mother’s attention and affection. Something she never got, and become something she took on the habit of demanding.
Time after time she could be seen doing exactly what her mother didn’t want. The final nail in the coffin of any salvage of their relationship was when her father cheated and her mother instead of standing up for herself, simply swallowed the pill and decided to move on as if nothing had happened all for her image. Not only had she lost all respect for the father she cherished, but also her every anguish with her mother was validated. And those she separated herself from them entirely.
The one family member who never let her down, of course being her twin. Theo is the only person in the world Addison trusts, and loves without condition. Because her love for everyone else certainly has conditions. There isn’t anything Adde wouldn’t do for her brother, there is a chance she might once consider letting go of a slight against her, but never against Theo. She is fiercely protective of him, as well as unconditionally loyal. If there is one person who can convince her to do something, to change her mind on something it’s him, and so often for this reason he’s made the mediator between her and their mother.
IN THE PUBLIC EYE FROM START
At the age of 11, Addison was scouted and offered a role in a major movie franchise, think something to the effect of Harry Potter or the Twilight Saga in it’s hay day. She pursued it in vain of a challenge at first, though did end up loving the unconventionality and excitement of working in showbiz more than anything else. Even at that age she had that renegade desire to always be doing more, different and better always. Discontent with the mundane.
However she didn’t pursue acting in front of a camera any further than that instead opting for theater for a few years, though at this point she’d definitely cemented herself as a public figure, at times relishing in the attention, but also often loathing it.
EDUCATION
No one can accuse Addison of not being smart, though it was rather hard for her to have a normal high school experience while working on film sets and traveling around for shoots. Then lost in the pursuit of working as a more serious stage actress. Her creative pursuits seeming to always stir her away from a formal education, thus she succumbed to what life seemed to telling her and decided not to attend college for the time at least. That’s not say she didn’t get the proper college experience visiting her brother at Yale, outside of the lecture halls that is. If the affair her father had and how her mother handled it the final straw for Addison, her decision to not go to college was definitely it for her mother.
PROFESSION
Theater was wholly fulfilling for the young woman in more ways than one as it brought her closer to her true calling. Fashion design. Always having been very interested in her look and costumes even while working in movies (though with far less consideration), she began to work more closely with the costume designers outside of the stage. Soon she was exploring more than just the art of assembling outfits, and simple seam work in. Putting together vision boards, drawing up rough sketches anything to further visualize and express her artist vision and the desire to see the garments she envisioned to come to actuality.
Calling up a few designers that had previously dressed her for carpets and events she was able to talk one into allowing her to apprentice for them to really learn the proper ins and outs of the industry, that was four years ago. Not someone with a lot of patience and more than enough confidence and recklessness to take risks she slowly started to work towards creating her own fashion line, putting all the money she had accumulated from continuing royalty from movies to good use. The first year was tough, she had a huge advantage to anyone else just starting out but her work just wasn’t connecting and she herself wasn’t seasoned to failure. There was a period there when she began to spiral more than usual. It didn’t help that this was around the same time as her mother taking office and her being launched back into the media spotlight in a whole new way.
But after a period of darkness she was able to find a whole new drive and channel that same emotion into her work, something sparked and before long she was doing all the right things. fashion week nyc, paris, milan, high profile faces wearing her designs, major brand deals, and then the launch of her flagship store in the span of two short but endlessly productive years.
APPEARANCE
alternating between a platinum blonde pixie cut and dreads
warm brown eyes, often bloodshot, hidden behind aviators
loose, often semi sheer clothing over satin and lace undergarments.
multiple studs and hoops in her ears, sometimes a small ring in her septum.
small diamond always in her left tragus
at least three dainty rings on her fingers
PUBLIC PERCEPTION
Addison is a media darling, her mother and Sonia would say for all the wrong reasons. Her give no fucks attitude having always contributed greatly to the press concocting all sorts of stories about her with the young woman providing plenty of inspiration. “Addison Saint-Clare a ticking time bomb at state dinner.” “First daughter on the verge of meltdown after a run in with the authorities.” “Newlywed miserable already.” “A closer look at the Saint-Clare sex swing, amazon driver reveals all” “Addison Saint-Clare pregnant & alone” “72 Hours with Addison Saint-Clare and a Macedonian Graffiti Crew Member” the list goes on, and gets even more outlandish.
RELATIONSHIPS
Far to many to count, in more ways than one. There’s never a time when her name isn’t connected with someone, and it’s rarely without reason as she tends to go through partners quite liberally. She has always been completely transparent and unapologetic about her promiscuity, she doesn’t give a fuck about much in life least of all what anyone has to say about her sexuality, and how she chooses to express it. Given her lack of faith in commitment she never likes to let things stick, finding reasons to end things when there might be none. Because leaving is always better than to be left. It happened once and she’s not going to ever let it happen again.
As the first daughter, obviously her indiscretions haven’t been the most palatable to the conservative masses, and this is has been one of many places where she’s bargained with her mother to reel it back, not without getting something in return for it. However her Vegas wedding last November was a PR nightmare, even more so when the marriage lasted all of five minutes. Two and a half months, to be exact. The divorce proceedings having gone on longer than the actual relationship itself at this point.

I’ll add more to a separate post or something later!

Week 12 Reading Response
As someone who is always in her head, I really appreciated the “Truth” chapter in Emerge.  I have most definitely caught myself saying, “It has to be perfect. I have to be perfect. I’m not creative. I’ll never be able to do this or that. I am not good at public speaking/presentations. I am not good at this or that. I don’t have time. I am too busy with school or work.”  These scripts really do hold me back from accomplishing not just creative goals, but other life goals too.  A week ago, we had a speaker at chapel, and she said to get rid of the “Lie of just”: “I am just this. I am just that.”  She explained that we are not just whatever we say we are.  We are who we are because God created each one of us with a purpose for this specific time.  To overcome these scripts, I really like step one.  Step one is all about being aware of what you are speaking about, over, and to yourself.  I definitely need to work on what I say about myself and my circumstances.  Being aware and recording my scripts can really show me the “truths” (that are actually lies) that I am speaking to myself; this will allow me to change those thoughts and those scripts.
The “Usefulness” chapter hit hard, and oh man, did it call me out a bit.  I don’t want to be a lukewarm Christian; I don’t want to be one foot in and one foot out.  I want to be all in, but technology, entertainment, and consumerism definitely takes a toll on my walk with God.  I was really called out for having a Pinterest account to make me look “hip or cool.”  I definitely use Pinterest as a place where I envy some of the outfits that other girls wear or the houses that other people have.  I “pin” outfits, styles, and home decor for inspiration purposes, but I also pin things to look “cool” sometimes, and it does cause me to be in the virtual world rather than the real world.  I had to delete TikTok because I was scrolling through it for three hours a day; it kept me from the real world.  I noticed that TikTok literally took away my desire to be productive.  I didn’t want to do my homework; I just wanted to lay on my bed and watch TikTok videos for hours.  I really appreciate the author of Emerge calling out the world’s agendas for consumerism.  It is so true that companies are constantly saying that if you don’t have this product, you will not be satisfied, or that this product will satisfy all your needs.  This is so wrong!  I am guilty of falling in the consumerism trap; I like to online shop and buy clothes.  Sometimes I think that wearing these clothes will make me feel better about myself, but when I buy them and wear them, I only want more clothes or different styled clothes.  I agree with the author of Emerge, that if we want to be useful, we need to be good stewards of our bodies, time, and resources.  Pinterest, TikTok, and online shopping will never draw me closer to God, they will only distract me and lead me away from Him.
I loved what was said in All That Is Made, I love the idea of creativity as being a devotional practice, and I especially love this sentence: “We declare that any activity with God is sacred, no matter how frivolous it may seem to the outside world.”  Creativity (and of course not only creativity) can be an act of reconnecting with our “first love.”  It’s honestly such a beautiful concept to think about: How amazing is it that God has given us all hobbies, talents, and gifts in order for us to use those to spend time with Him!  Also, I love what All That Is Made had to say about remembering the Holy Spirit for when you “arrive.”  I think of this for the moments in my life when I thought there was no hope, but actually God got me through those times; He brought hope and restoration.  I think of this when I will one day be sitting in the counselor’s chair talking to a client face-to-face.  I believe that everything I have gone through and will go through was and is because of God.
Tumblr media
I though that it was fitting to share a snippet of one of my Pinterest boards called “cute stuff” where I just literally put cute photos in.

Put under the cut for the sake of not being long.
1. What’s one genre you really love the idea of, but are disappointed when you go to read/watch it?
Romance, because so many harem shows and so on just make it way too dramatic and painful to get through. Aside from Cardcaptor Sakura and stories like @langwrites‘ Catch Your Breath, which did amazing Slow Burn, I rarely go into Romance genre stuff.
2. Feelings about fire in general? (where my fellow pyros?)
Neutral. As long as it can help keep the house warm and cook food, I’m good.
3. Which of your OCs is the kinkiest?
In terms of hints/innuendos? Hikari, since she does tease Judai on occasion when they’re alone. Of course, this happens when Tomoko is not around. Hisako does troll Tomoko a little bit herself, but not in that category since sex-related stuff is very iffy for Tomo in general.
4. What is the one thing you most want a fan to say someday?
“Could I draw fanart for you?” or “I was hoping if I could write a fanfic of your fanfic?”
I’d be squealing all day if that happened.
5. Which OC do you think readers will like the most?
From personal opinion? Tomoko, Hisako, and Hikari, since those three ladies stand out so much in CP and in S&S. From what I’ve seen of FFN reviews though, Hikari’s the Ensemble Darkhorse, and that’s awesome.
6. Were your OCs born naturally, with pharmaceutical assistance, or via c section?
Aside from Hisako, because Nobody status for Tomoko, all my OCs were born naturally. I honestly think Judai was the only one that came from c-section, because his mother (and in turn, Tomoko’s paternal grandmother) suffered from some health problems. I can’t expand on it aside from that because I haven’t exactly thought about Judai’s parents. For as long as Judai himself knew, he was an orphan.
7. What is the single emotion that is the absolute hardest for you to write? (loneliness, loss, hopelessness, joy, etc)
Seething anger to the point of extreme action. I can get close with my empathy and sympathy to many different emotions, but anger in that level (where a character might even kill or something) is something I can’t imagine. Nor the simple mess that is Orochimaru’s craftiness, because all he is in my head is a pedophile snake that deserves to die.
8. If your OC were a cookie, what sort of cookie would they be?
Tomoko would be a sweet red velvet cookie. Hikari would be macademia nuts, Judai a chocolate chip protein cookie (because ninja status), and Hisako would be peanuts and M&Ms.
Tomoya, on the other hand, I see being birthday cake, because she’s still figuring out who she is past her assigned male gender.
The Hitoshi family would all be oatmeal cookies that got badly burnt in the oven. :d
9. How important do you think it is to describe a character’s appearance?
Pretty important, but not so much to where you dedicate entire pages to them. The reader should get an idea of how they look, but also leave some room for interpretation/fanart opportunities. Hence why when I do describe appearances in writing, they’re simple and sweet so that art has a leeway to come in.
10. And, spitballing off that, which OC do you think is the prettiest?
Right now? Hikari, since she can rock almost any outfit. Also helped by how she makes her own clothes. Tomoko is still growing, but she’ll get there.
11. Your absolute most evil OC is startled by a toaster popping. What happens next?
Mamoru (the original Drunk Guy) would kinda smash it with an alcohol bottle. Only for Natsumi to go on and yell at him because that was still a perfectly okay toaster. Satoru would be rolling his eyes and heading out the window to avoid another argument on his parents’ parts.
12. One of your OCs is in a Disney animated movie. What’s the “big” song of that movie? (Pocahontas’ was “Colors of the wind,” Aladdin was “A Whole New World,” Hercules was “Zero to Hero” etc.)
If it was Tomoko, the song would be Let’s Just Live from RWBY Volume 4. Simple as that.
For Hisako, it’ll be Neon, also from RWBY, this time being Volume 3.
For Hikari, it would probably be Taylor Davis’s violin cover of My Heart Will Go On from Titanic.
Judai naturally gets Teardrop by BOWL.
Tomoya would probably get something like Mirror Mirror, Part 2 from RWBY Volume 3.
13. Do you think having to write while stuck out in the wilderness by yourself (in a heated cabin, food and water but no wifi, tv, or phone service) would help or hurt?
I think it would help for a while, since I get peace and quiet, not to mention my laptop already having offline editing accessible. But after a few weeks, I would just get worried about how to get back to my family, since I’m still living with them and I love them very much.
Leo and Josh would probably be the first ones to blow a gasket out of worry about me, aside from my Mom and Dad.
14. You have written or thought about writing dirty fanfiction. What is it?
…Really? You’re asking this? From the sex-repulsed, demiromantic?
Well, I thought of fanfics where an adult Tomoko and Kakashi went and did it, but got too much second-hand embarrassment to even think of writing. I’m not even going to bring Kei into this, because Lang kinda had to witness my reaction to the revelation of Kei and Kakashi’s relationship going sexual by OSF firsthand last year, and it’s sorta painful to look back on because getting triggered sucks.
15. Someone offers you thirty million dollars to ghostwrite a book about how Hell is real and all dogs go there, good or bad. Do you do it?
Nope. My uncle has a sweet Corgi dog by the name of Yuko, and I do not want to think about a story where all dogs go to Hell. Yuko deserves better, and I can get the money elsewhere. If anything, I’d just point at that person with a blank face, say, “You’re just a scam,” and walk off.
16. You will automatically get a million dollar contract for anything you write, but it has to be at least five thousand words long AND you can only use as many letters of the alphabet as complete pullups you can do. How does that work out?
I’d have to exercise more, because I do more push-ups and rollerblading than pull-ups. So no. I’d prefer writing for fun, not for the money.
17. Your dog turns into a person and writes a book about your lives together, and it gets turned into a movie. During the premiere of the movie, your dog turns to you and tells you that Hell is a place of our own making. What kind of popcorn do you order?
I would order a medium popcorn with extra butter. And I don’t think I should worry about the dog part since I actually don’t have a dog. The only dog I interact with is the aforementioned Yuko, and she’s too sweet to say something like that.
18. What’s a genre of fiction you don’t think you’d ever get the hang of writing?
Smut, because sex-repulsed demiromantic here. And any despair-inflicting stuff since I know fluff runs in my veins so much better, hence why I’m still surprised about the Danganronpa crossover that’s been going in my head. Hell, the things my head has come up with for S&S Tomoko past the Memory Arc have been less than cheery, and I have to thank Lang and by extension, Os and Abalisk for getting me out of that mindset many times, because the things she has coming up hurt.
19. How similar is your story world to the Earth we live on?
Aside from the ninja and feudal Japan-like aspects, pretty similar. The only thing Tomoko misses is freedom of speech and democracy, because despite America’s flaws, it did allow Vy’s parents to immigrate and find better lives to meet each other.
20. What inspired any of your WIPs?
Catch Your Breath. I’ve said it enough already, and owe Lang many things.
21. What song best explains the squad in your WIP?
Let’s Just Live from RWBY. Because it’s the main theme for CP in my opinion, and going onto S&S, the message of moving forward is something I think everyone in the squad tries to aspire towards.
22. Do you use Pinterest for your characters/stories?
I have a Pinterest account, but I don’t use it. It’s kinda clunky, and Tumblr and FFN has been shown to be better in my opinion.
23. Do you have an Asshole character?
The entire Hitoshi Family. Even if Satoru hasn’t shown up in S&S (because all the flack surrounding him in his initial arc in CP was bad enough), the family’s bad.
24. What superhero is similar to or is idolized by your OCs?
I feel like Tomoko would idolize Starfire and Wonder Woman, since both had to deal with coming to new worlds and adjusting to life with new people. Not sure on the others though. Judai might sympathize with Batman, but aside from that, I’m blanking.
25. Do your protagonist and antagonist get along?
Nope. Tomoko would probably want to yell her head off at Madara for being so stupid in her opinion, and grab her Wayfinder to slash Black Zetsu with. Hisako agrees with the Zetsu sentiment, but would probably want to kill Madara more than yell at him.
Danzo on the other hand, is someone Tomoko and Hisako haven’t exactly encountered. Judai, though, would want that bastard as far away from his family as possible, since Danzo has offered Judai a place in ROOT back before he met Hikari. It was not pretty, to put it lightly.
26. How many of your current WIPs do you plan to publish, if you are publishing?
I’ve published most if not all of my WIPs on FFN. I don’t know about cross-posting on AO3, since it’s a pain in the butt, but yeah. The Danganronpa thing should come out when I get more chapters of S&S done, and when I finish the anime.
27. Is there a song that inspires you to write, or inspired any of your WIPs?
Let’s Just Live comes up yet again in this long post, but I also have to credit many of Kyle Landry’s piano covers of Kingdom Hearts, because his work on the already great soundtrack gave me the idea to make Tomoko into a pianist in the first place.
28. What trends do your OCs use/wear/etc.?
Anime-inspired kimono stuff. And casual, comfy wear that’s simple and pleasing.
29. Do you listen to music or ambiance while you write? Or just silence? If it’s music, what genre?
When I need to write somber moments, I use silence while sitting in a corner of my room. For everything else, I bring up piano music to keep up the theme of CP having piano themes.
30. Are any of your characters sassy?
All of them can be sassy in some ways, but the people that really dominate the “sassy” category have to be Hikari, Tomoya, and Hisako. Those three can really rip into someone if they want to.
31. How did you come up with the idea for your current WIP?
For CP? The simple question of, “What if Kakashi had a best friend from the near beginning?”
For S&S, though? “How would things be better or worse for Kei if she met Tomoko and they worked together?”
32. How long have you been working on your current WIP?
CP: a little over a year.
S&S: nearing a year, since its first anniversary is coming up in 2 months.
33. Are you planning to publish your current WIP?
Uh, they’re already up on FFN if that’s what you mean. Because honestly, I don’t see myself writing past fanfiction.
34. If your MCs were youtubers, what kind would they be? (ex. vlogger, artuber. booktuber, comedy, etc.)
Tomoko would be like Kyle Landry in putting up various piano covers of the songs she finds.
Hisako would be half comedy, half vlogger/booktuber as she comments on the many things she sees in Tomoko’s head and through Tomoko’s eyes. The booktuber part comes from Hisako’s home being Tomoko’s mental library, so she might be reviewing the books/memories that come her way while in front of the camera.
Hikari would probably be another musician, teaming up with Judai on occasion to be like the real life Videri String Quartet, only as a duo because they both handle stringed instruments.
Tomoya would probably put up piano covers like Tomoko, but also film advice videos for those who are trying to transition like she is.
35. What season do you associate with each of your characters, and why?
Hikari is spring, since she brings along the most cheeriness in the house when Tomoko can’t.
Tomoko is autumn, since she picks up the pieces after summer passes.
Tomoya is winter, since she’s still unsure about herself and trying to find her way in the world.
Hisako and Judai both share summer, since they can be pretty hot-headed when it comes to people they care about.
36. Is there one scene that you are particularly excited to write, or had a lot of fun writing?
In terms of scenes I’m excited to write:
CP has me waiting for Kakashi’s ANBU arc to come by, since Tomoko and Kakashi are already in a relationship at this point, and I’ll be able to flesh out both civilian and ninja sides since the two are going to be kinda separated as a result of ANBU forcing Kakashi to get his own apartment in the ninja barracks for security purposes.
For S&S, I’m looking forward to the Commencement and Memory Arcs, since October Tenth and Sorayama were two events that really impacted Kei’s life originally in CYB. Tomoko being there will lead to significantly different emotional aftermaths, so exploring that has me shaking in my shoes (in the good way).
In terms of scenes that I had fun writing…
CP had Kakashi buying his signature outfit for Kannabi in Chapter 42, because Tomoko (the innocent dork) is finally starting to recognize for real that she loves her best friend and honestly doesn’t want him to die while in the field. Also for Hikari being that fashion badass that I wanted her to be.
S&S had Tomoko’s bulging duffle bag of things in Chapter 16, since that was something I had in mind since the beginning of the brainstorming stages for the story, because Kei’s shown that she can be reckless already. Our civilian pianist, on the other hand, takes things to a completely different level, and I’m kinda sad no one commented more on that scene in the reviews anyways.
37. What would the ship name be for your favorite romantic pairing in your WIP?
For CP? KakaTomo, taking the first 2 syllables from Kakashi and Tomoko’s names to get this.
For S&S? It’s a crack and sunk ship at this point, but KeiTomo kinda grew on me since writing S&S.  More so since Tomoko has been shown in S&S to be very dedicated to Kei in a way that’s different from her CP counterpart’s love for Kakashi. It would’ve been pretty interesting to explore, but talks with Lang confirmed it wouldn’t exactly work (as KeiRin shippers from CYB can probably attest to), but thoughts of it are cute to think on.
38. Are you a planner, or a pantser, or in the middle?
In the middle. I plan, but also leave enough holes for the characters to fill in with their actions.
39. What’s your favorite detail that you put into your worldbuilding?
All the family relations between the characters and how a simple network of loved ones can easily make so many changes in the Narutoverse. I’m still happy about how everyone on FFN was so receptive to the CP version of Kannabi, because that was planned from the very beginning of the story. To know that all the build-up, family and fluff moments and all, showed the natural progression of how a canon-doomed mission turned into one that was mostly heartwarming and partly bittersweet.
40. How long are your chapters, usually?
From 5k to 10k words on average. The most I’ve done, I think, is 14k words.
41. If you could meet one of your characters, who would it be?
Tomoko, since I’d be able to assure her that everything will be okay and that she doesn’t have to worry too much.
42. If you could meet any fictional character (not yours), who would it be?
Kei, since Kei’s a dork, and I think I’d be able to get her to relax a bit more by introducing all of RWBY to her and updating her on what’s happened since her past self’s death.
43. Which character is the most fun to write?
Hisako, because she’s a nicer version of Monokuma. She can say so many things that Tomoko just doesn’t say, and without any consequences.
44. Which character is the most painful to write?
To be honest, Judai, since I’m still lurking on his Interlude that expands his backstory leading up to Tomoko’s birth, and trying to make all the Yugioh GX elements transition into Naruto-terms hasn’t been easy.
45. What are some of your favorite tropes?
You Are Better Than You Think You Are, You Are Not Alone, Glomp, and True Companions.
46. What genre is your favorite to read? What genre do you usually write?
Hurt/Comfort as well as a good Mystery mixed with Fantasy are my favorites to read. For genres I write, it’s obviously Friendship, Hurt/Comfort, and Fluff.
47. Earbuds or headphones?
If given an absolute choice, earbuds because portability, but both are fine.
48. What made you want to write what it is you’re currently writing?/ What was that first spark of an idea?
As I’ve said many times before, Catch Your Breath from Lang. The next spark was actually Inoue Shiori by Hermionechan90, since her take on civilians and their relationship with ninja got me thinking.
49. What are your project’s main themes or undertones? (Yes, I do really like this question)
“Keep Moving Forward for Yourself and the People that Care for You.”
“Don’t give into your own doubts — use them as a motivation to improve yourself.”
Also, quoting Madoka from the last episode of the TV series:
“If someone tells me it’s wrong to hope, I will tell them that they’re wrong every time.”
50. Which of your characters do you relate to the most, or has the most of ‘you’ worked into them? And what aspect of you is this? (If you’re comfortable with sharing).
Tomoko obviously has the most of “me” worked into her, because of her status as an SI-OC. The biggest aspect though? Her heart, emotions, and desire to help others. That’s something I still share with her greatly, despite maturing, so seeing her grow as been a wonderful thing to witness.
51. What are the main points of inspiration/original concepts or aesthetics behind your main characters?
There’s a reason why I keep turning back to Let’s Just Live, because it shows just how much aesthetic these characters take from the song and in turn RWBY. You shouldn’t give up just yet, even when life is unfair. You have to keep moving forward, because the ones who have passed on and loved you would’ve wanted you to. If you can’t live for yourself, live for the people that are still alive and that still love you. That’s why I believe Chapter 13 of CP and Chapter 9 of S&S are still so powerful, because it’s something that Sakumo and everyone else needed to hear, and why it still stays despite all this conflict.
52. What’s your favorite quote from your project so far?
From Tomoko herself:
“Don’t take the coward’s way out. Face your pain, your mistakes, head on, and recognize what happened. You can’t change the past, but you can change the present. The future. Don’t start to cherish something when it’s long gone. Recognize what you have now, and treasure it with your life. Remember all the positive moments you’ve had, all the people you’ve loved, and just live. Don’t fear loss or pain. Take it in, endure it, and use it to help others. Because in the end, life is a gift, but short, and with the world the way it is, wouldn’t it be better to impart love and care to our loved ones before the inevitable?”
53. What’s your favorite book and why?
Don’t know if I have one aside from manga and fanfiction.
54. Do the books you like/ genre you read influence your writing style at all?
Yep. Cardcaptor Sakura was all about fluff and positive relationships, for one thing. I can’t list more off the top of my head right now, but that’s a big one.
55. Do you have a weird writer thing? Like a habit or obsession or something that’s just generally unusual when it comes to scribbling words?
Sometimes, when I’m really stressed, I just put on my headphones and pull up hairbrushing ASMR videos, because the sound of hairbrushing is surprisingly relaxing and nice when I need to get into the right working-mood.
56. Are you a hand-writer or a screen-typer?
Screen-typer.
57. What’s your favourite character from a text you’ve been forced to study and why?
Surprisingly, even though I haven’t finished the book yet, Werther from Goethe’s The Sorrows of Werther stands out, because he’s the first male protagonist I’ve seen in historical texts that is so emotional and open, and considering how my HUM professor likens his development to that of the Romanticism Movement that I already unconsciously took from, all the right bells were hit.

7 Cool Things About Being An Introvert
You know the feeling. You spend much of your life thinking something’s wrong. You’re alone a lot, usually with your nose in a book or daydreaming. But then someone puts a label on it and everything falls into place. You’re an introvert. You’re wired differently. And even better, you realize this trait comes with some great benefits…
You like your own company – Ever notice how after a meeting, people like to linger and talk in small groups? I never got that. Even if the gathering went well — even if a great time was had by all –I can’t get out fast enough.
That’s when you know you’re an introvert. It has nothing to do with the other people. They’re usually smart, interesting and nice. You just want to get back on your own turf. When younger, I thought something was wrong. Now I realize it’s a gift to like your own company.
You protect yourself — I know outgoing humans who thrive on days filled with schmoozing, meetings, and people, people, people! They love talking, persuading, and discussing. Politicians and salespeople come to mind.
That life would exhaust me. And I used to think I needed to keep up with more extroverted friends and relatives. Yet I’ve learned to be gentle with myself, to do what feels right. I’ve learned to balance the need for people with the need for solitude.
You like to think – And this means pondering everything – from world politics to what kind of dark chocolate has better flavor to who has the worst plastic surgery on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
My biggest fear is not having time to organize my thoughts, like when I have to introduce myself in a formal group. I fumble for words. I over-think it. My heart beats fast. I envy people who effortlessly talk off the cuff. Instead, I need time to process. Even better, I need to see my thoughts on paper. Maybe that’s why so many writers are introverts.
You love public libraries – I do much of my writing in libraries, which to introverts are shrines, temples to wisdom, ideas and inspiration.
Libraries are the best of all places, hushed but full of people — quiet people. You can be in your own head but still feel like you’re getting social contact. They’re also great places to observe – retirees, young mothers, teenagers, couples, and businessmen. Introverts love nothing more than hanging back and taking it in.
You need people… just not all the time — This goes for everyone, even your family and best friends.
I’m travelling with my mother this spring. The first thing we said when booking hotels was we needed separate rooms. She’s also an introvert. We get that about each other. It has nothing to do with if you love someone or how close you are. Introverts need privacy, our own sacred space to be ourselves
You’re sensitive – I realized this as a 6th grader. One day mean females were teasing a heavy girl sitting near me on the school bus. She put on a brave front, but I could tell was ready to cry.
I noticed she was wearing a new outfit. I wondered if she had put on that red skirt with hopes of a good day, maybe even making friends. Now I heard kids whispering cruel things about her. I wanted to tell them to stop, but lacked the courage. Meanwhile, the rest of the bus paid no attention.
Since then, I’ve felt this way many times. There’s too much violence, aggression and indifference in this world. And like the bus, I feel affected by it. Many times I’ve reminded myself its the sensitive and brave who make the best changes. I have the first part down. I’m working on the second.
You’re cautious – My late father could run and dive into any body of water, no matter how cold or intimidating. I always admired him for that. Me? I’d creep bit by bit into lakes others could jump into within minutes.
And this is how introverts take life. We go slow, inch-by-inch, whether new experiences, people, or places. Yet there’s a benefit. When you go slower, you notice things — that shy smile, a cat bathing in the sun, the way the clouds form patterns above.
In the end, it’s different, but it’s also nice.
I’ve come to terms with never having the social stamina of a politician or salesperson. I don’t know how they go through their days,  always being on, having such little private time.
I guess we all have to accept who we are.
And I wouldn’t swap my life of reading, daydreaming and pondering for anything. Being an introvert is cool.
