Close your eyes and picture a place that’s filled with wonder. Somewhere magical where you feel inspired, can dream, and maybe just get lost in a world of your own. A little over a year ago we were coming home from a trip to town to buy groceries and found this incredible patch of lupine along a road further over. My mom drove to them and it was the most joy I have ever felt in my life. I was so happy I couldn't stop crying. There were so many colors and so many flowers, and bees pollinating them too! What would it look like to be mindful in your day to day? Would it be noticing when you're full or how certain foods make you feel? Could it look like taking a few deep breaths when you feel the tension creeping in?⁠ ⁠ For me it's been noticing flowers everywhere I go. Since starting a garden of my own I think about what I want to grow next year, how I want to grow my own bouquets and tea herbs. I love finding new flowers, noticing which ones blossom in which months, and how the bees and butterflies interact with them.⁠ ⁠ Finding slow this summer has meant taking a break and putting my feet in the grass. Walking along my garden to notice the changes that have happened since yesterday, and literally stopping to smell the roses (sunflowers, peonies, cone flower, cosmos and any other flower I can get my hands on). ⁠ ⁠ Slow isn't about giving up or doing it better.
