"I think the time skip in KFS was a really good plot device. Devi's off screen character development makes her less of the naive wild child from the first chapters, and it makes sense for her to become the head of her family as now she's as capable as others member of the dozen. (Also the Kamal route became less creepy since now Devi is more mature and is on a relatively equal position to him, but that's just a bonus.)"
