Kangana Ranaut has dismissed a story that stated she didn't want her 2015 film I Love New Year to be released, before of the release of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's Gadar 2.
According to a top entertainment publication, Kangana was concerned that I Love New Year would "destroy her career" due to its numerous delays. Kangana, on the other hand, has rejected these allegations, claiming that she is a huge fan of Sunny Deol and that she never said anything of the sort.
Kangana stated in a series of Instagram Stories that she is frequently the subject of negative stories and that she is "the only actress who faces this kind of negativity on a daily basis." She also stated that her coworkers are usually startled by the bad portrayal of her in the media.

Tuesday, a Mumbai court dismissed Kangana Ranaut's extortion claim against lyricist Javed Akhtar. The case is centred on her and Hrithik Roshan's public argument. In her petition, she claimed that in March 2016, Akhtar had summoned her and her sister Rangoli Chandel to his home and asked her to apologise to Hrithik Roshan.
According to India Today, a Magistrate court in Mumbai stated, "Asking a person to give a written apology will not come under the definition of valuable security....because no legal right is created, extended, transferred, restricted, extinguished or released"
The plea claimed, "However, the accused, with a malafide intention and ulterior motive, called her and her sister Rangoli Chandel at his house in Juhu in the month of March 2016 and criminally intimidated and threatened the complainant (Kangana Ranaut) as well as forced her to tender a written apology to the co-star thereby forcefully seeking to create a document (valuable security)in favour of her co-star."
It all started when Ranaut was accused of making defamatory statements about Akhtar in an interview following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput on July 14, 2020. In response, Akhtar accused her of defamation in 2020. Following this, Ranaut accused Akhtar of asking her to apologise to Hrithik Roshan in the current complaint.
In accordance with Sections 383, 384, 387, 503, 506, 509, 44, and 30 of the IPC, Kangana Ranaut filed the complaint. But it was issued in accordance with Sections 506 and 509.
