Hello there, my lovely anon! I definitely can do that - I really couldn't come up with solid ideas, so I admit to taking the lazy way out, so have a pretty comprehensive list on what type of Benders everyone would be in this AU! And guys, there are so many characters in Gintama so I swear it wasn't as easy and lazy as it looks! Thanks for sending in a request and I hope you'll enjoy!

Okay, so we're going into this AU with there being the four major bending types - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Each bending type is as it is portrayed in Avatar: The Last Airbender, with people possessing different degrees of bending and different skills being present within each bending type.

So, when considering which type of Bender each character would be, I kind of broke it down into personality types and traits and qualities to look for, based on what I figure the 'stereotypical' Bender is for each of the four.

Earth Benders are a little rough around the edges, slow to anger, slow to decide on things, but stubborn once their mind is made up. They can be sensitive and they are often very patient.

Air Benders are gentle souls, respectful and adaptable, changeable. They're fast, both in their movements and in their thoughts.

Water Benders are typically calm and easy-going, flexible enough to adapt to their companions or situations. They're often quite easy to talk to and rather content with their lives.

Fire Benders are often prideful and confident individuals who are loyal, determined and ambitious. They can be very playful and fun but they often also have very short fuses on their tempers, which can be very volatile and explosive.

Keeping that in mind, this is what I figure the characters would be for Benders.

The 2017 Miyako Odori - Complete

she threw up infront if nishiki after only properly knowing him for like a couple of weeks. shed been drinking with him and the rest of the gang and she had one too many and just threw up in the street :/ she was sooooo embarrassed even if nishiki found it funny and she couldnt bare to face him for like a week after lol

i guess she hurt nishiki after she moved back home to be with her family after her mom died? like she knew he was already slipping away from her as soon as yumi came on the scene but he still cared about her as he was depedent on her in ways that nobody else could be. final blow from kimiko to nishiki was when she sees him a few years later when she ends up back in tokyo and she’s engaged to somebody else and i don’t think he truly got over that :(

@coruscas asked over on my main what happens to kimiko and nishiki between y0 and kiwami and i thought id post it here as it fits better :) sorry it took long to answer it took me forever to figure out a clear timeline but anyway enjoy some cringe lore

okay so a couple of weeks after the drama of y0 dies down Kimiko sees Nishiki properly for the first time that’s outside of a life/death situation and she’s angry but it’s that weird angry where she’s crying and she’s probably digging into him whilst bawling her eyes out and there he finally put 2 and 2 and got 4 to realise she really does care about him and can’t get over that she's even giving someone him the time of day.

for the next 2 years or so they date. Kimiko quits her job as a hostess a couple of months after the events of y0 and probably works for that real estate business that Kiryu has as a secretary alongside doing her university degree whilst Nishiki is obviously still involved with the yakuza. honestly he has no idea why she'd want to work cause he tells her time and time again if she ever needs money she can just ask him but he probably understands her pride would never let that happen so to substitute he loves to take her out and buy her gifts :)

summer of 1989 into early 1990 is like the peak of their relationship before it takes a minor hit as Kimiko is busy with her degree so she never has that much free time to see Nishiki and even if she does she's seeing her university friends. he's a little dejected (he good at not showing it at first) especially when it's pretty obvious one of the guys she's friends with has a thing for her (I'll go into more detail later on lol)

anyway fast forward to spring 1991 shortly after Kimiko graduates she gets the news her mom has died and for a whole week she shuts down and doesn't see or speak to anybody. she decides to move back home for a few months to help with the care of her siblings and overall spend time with her family. Nishiki probably doesn't take it super well cause like, he relies on her for emotional support, and it probably doesn't help when they both realise they have to break off the relationship.

at first they keep in touch most days but once the weeks roll by the phone calls get less and less frequent and after a few months the only time they ever really talk is when either of them are drunk (always ends up with both of them sobbing down the phone about how much they miss each other). on Kimiko's end her family are actively pushing her into getting married, and she does probably briefly think about her and Nishiki marrying but she knows it would never work given his involvement with the yakuza although deep down she wishes she could :( anyway the only person who comes to mind who she does like who is also interested in her is probably her uni friend, Takashi, who she's kept in contact with (he's the guy I mentioned earlier lol). Kimiko eventually moves back to Tokyo after spending a good year with her family and she starts dating Takashi after persistence from her family to settle down.

she reunites with Nishiki and it really doesn't help her situation cause the feelings she had for him are reignited and she wishes she could just pick up where they left off :( she doesn't tell him she's seeing somebody else for months until one night she drunkenly tells him she recently got engaged and he really doesn't take it well and they don't speak for months until after her wedding when she calls him saying how much she misses him and basically he comes through and they fuck!!!

shortly after that Kimiko finds out she's pregnant and due to some complications she decides it's within her best interests to keep the baby but pass it off as Takashi's which ultimately works as he doesn't suspect a thing and in 1994 she gives birth to her son Hiro. despite her marriage and new baby she still can't put her feelings for Nishiki to rest and for a good 3 years they have a thing on the side but she calls it off once she becomes pregnant again and this time they cut ties completely which probably doesn't help Nishiki's decent into insanity lol!!!

its not until 2001 when they come into contact again. Kimiko and Takashi divorce after he finds out Hiro isn't his and she comes clean she'd been seeing Nishiki the first few years of their marriage. he fucks off and basically leaves her out on the street with nowhere to live and barely any money so she turns to Nishiki to borrow money with no idea he's changed. at first he's wary and doesn't trust her but eventually agrees once he realises he can use it to his advantage and have her under his thumb for no reason really other than the fact he's evil lol (also because deep down he still has feelings her but whatevs)

for the next 4 years he steps in and out of her life when he feels like it, exploiting of the fact she still loves him. they probably meet routinely in various locations around tokyo, mainly just to bang before he'll dip and not speak to her for weeks at a time. he drip feeds her money and she takes it because she'll do anything to make sure her kids have a comfortable upbringing. she's under the firm impression she can change him, bring out the Nishiki she fell in love with right from the start, but as the years pass her patience wears thin and her mental health really takes a hit.

by 2005, around the events of kiwami, she attempts to end what they have going on but not before telling him he's Hiro's real father (kill 2 birds with one stone I guess) and he doesn't react well and basically ends up killing her albeit accidentally. probably panics and buries her out in the middle of nowhere cause he doesn't know what to do and she gets declared as missing by authorities and that's how their relationship finally ends <3

Kimiko!! her love language is based mostly off words of affirmation so she uses words to show that she cares about him and is always reassuring him he's a good person

It varies like one night Kimiko might meet him and the pals (hiiiii michiko and kiryu<3) after work if she's finished early enough to grab some drinks and do some drunken karaoke orrrrr the 2 of them might hit up Sega hi-tech land and Nishiki wastes a load of yen trying to win Kimiko ANOTHER bun-chan plushie before annihilating her score on Super Hang-on and then maybe the batting centre after where he likes to show her how to bat properly (she's bad but she has fun)

God...... she once threw up in front of him after she drank too much (5 drinks is too much for her:() and she wouldn't speak to him for DAYS because of how embarrassed she was even though he probably found it funny after

Kimiko is pretty transparent so there's not a lot for her to hide. Nishiki probably keeps any yakuza-related stuff to himself as it's not any of her business to know

When he realises that she's being genuine when she tells him that he's worth more than he thinks and how he's a good person HOWEVER they never actually properly get together for various reasons i'll explain at some point lol

Yes!! she has some friends from university who she's pretty close with as well as a few of the girls from the club she works at however probably her most closest friend is @shinypikachu's oc Michiko who is like a big sister to her (even though they're literally the same age lol)

What’s their friend group like? What role do they play in it?

With her friends from university they're all pretty responsible as is she so they click really well and they have a lot in common (music tastes, fashion etc) although they can be bit boring. as I mentioned above she's friends with @shinypikachu's Michiko and they're also pretty close!! through Michiko she gets to meet Kiryu and Nishiki and they're basically this ragtag bunch of pals:) Kimiko sticks out the most as she's in no way as chaotic as the others are but she sticks around because they make her laugh and she likes to have fun and overall she likes to feel rebellious (in her eyes anyway, to others staying out until 5am probs isn't that rebellious lol)

No kids but her love life is ummmmm interesting. she did have a boyfriend before she came to Tokyo but he literally wanted to wife her and tie her down which really scared her however he does break up with her shortly after she moves to Tokyo cause he doesn't like her being in a big city amongst all these guys (toxic and insecure mf). she does go on dates from time to time but nothing ever really amounts from them. she does have this thing going on with Nishiki but im not ready to expose myself and make myself look like a fool just yet 🤡

Not overly religious but she celebrates most public holidays. tanabta is one of her favourites as she loves seeing tanzaku hanging off the bamboo and thinks the colours are really pretty and enjoys writing down wishes :)
