Kishiar could hardly listen to anything the baron said. His eyes sought Yuder with every breath he took. He had to physically contain himself to not look at his lover. To not check if he was still there or everything Kishiar had seen since the forest was a mere illusion. 

Involuntarily, his eyes closed in on Yuder again. 

Yuder who was covered in blood. 

Yuder who nearly died in his arms. 

Yuder who was still injured and covered in blood again.  

Did he bleed? Was he hurting and not saying anything because he doesn’t feel it's important enough? Kishiar had no idea what happened in brief period of time when he wasn’t by Yuder’s side and it made him anxious. He knew Yuder was capable but he was still worried. 

Yuder’s blood soaked clothes weren’t helping either. Just a few hours ago he was helping Yuder get dressed and now-

Kishiar’s eyes locked with Yuder’s calm ones and he forced himself to think rationally as well. He had quite a lot of things to say when he heard Yuder’s plan but held himself back. It wasn’t the right time or place to do that. 

He allowed himself to hold Yuder close as he guided him away from the Baron and placed a chaste kiss on his lips. 

‘Don’t get hurt again,’ Kishiar wanted to say but after looking into Yuder’s determined eyes, he held back. 

As Yuder’s back slowly disappeared from his line of sight, Kishiar’s hand clenched into a fist, unnoticeable because of his coat. He turned towards the worthless Baron with a dangerous glint in his eyes. 

Yuder would be fine. He trusted him. Yuder will not be alone this time. Everything would be fine. Even if it wasn’t, Kishiar would make it so. He owed it to Yuder.

My favourite small details when writing this fic bc I don't have any inspiration:

Kishiar being the God of Eternity and Yuder being his (chosen) eternity.

Kishiar has to fight every waking moment of being a full god to stay in this time, this place, this game ("it seems intent on leaving his body behind")

When "Yuder felt his body grow cold", it was Kishiar transferring the rest of his divinity, not blood loss. Sneak 100.

Not canon in this fic but maybe 'eternity' decides that if there was any reason to let Kishiar return, there'd be none better than Yuder 'Yudrain' Aile. It's Divinity's confirmation that they chose the right human. What dedication to the concept Kishiar is god of, to even call the man he loves, 'eternity.'

I love that Nathan became so worried about Kishiar willing to even research forbidden books on heinous experiments, and all, if it could mean that he can either prevent or undo what he saw in his nightmares, that he just basically told Kishiar everything. He basically said: "get your man under control, he is driving me crazy!"

This interaction says so much about all these three characters:

It shows how much Nathan cares for Kishiar, sees him as his responsibility while respecting him as his noble lord. He cares enough to see that Kishiar is about to do some fucked up bullshit, with going all this forbidden magic books. He was like: sir, I respect you but wtf? He also knows Kishiar deeply enough to know that the only one who can make him like this, is Yuder. He trusts Kishiar's heart and judgement enough to trust Yuder. Not a 100% but he is getting by making his own judgement. He is also very protective of Kishiar, enough to make his own decisions regarding his safety, by deciding to share what Kishiar is doing, with Yuder.

It shows how reliable and loving Yuder is in the eyes of even someone as powerful and careful as Nathan, enough to be trusted with Kishiar's mental health. Yuder has shown again and again through his actions, to characters around him, that his fiercely loyal, and capable af. Nathan telling him about the books tells us how he already sees Yuder as a part of Kishiar's family. And when Yuder learnt of this, and decided to tell Kishiar EVERYTHING about their past lives, because he didn't want the man he loves the most, to suffer under this burden any further. Yuder is ready to face any consequence, even the anger and rejection from his loved ones, if it means he can take their pains away. So selfless, so loyal, and so deeply endearing Yuder is...I am just like...UGHH MY BOI... Let me give you all the hugs and kisses in the world!!

It shows just how deeply, pathetically, madly, insanely, devotedly IN LOVE Kishiar is with Yuder. It shows the depth he could go to protect the ones he loves. It shows how deeply and truly Kishiar loves. He is ready to go through forbidden texts, and destroy himself, his reputation, even go against his morality if it means he can save his loved ones. Kishiar is powerful, he is forgiving, he is considerate. He can tolerate great levels of pain on himself. But he can't and won't let you go scot free if you hurt his loved ones. He will beat his pains alone, suffering alone, hiding his pain even from the ones who want him to share his problems. In his previous life, Yuder's omega second gender manifestation happened when he was in Kishiar's office with him and overlapped with Kishiar's alpha heat. It led to a disaster that affected their relationship forever. In their first lives, it seems that none of them were able to recover from the shock of this incident.

But Yuder is also discovering that some of his memories from that life are not correct. In his dreams, the intensity of desire was mutual it seems. I am only at Chapter 350 right now but it is already so interesting and also deeply sad.

I don't know what happened that led to Yuder killing Kishiar but from whatever Yuder can recollect, it all seems so sad and tragic. He spent his remaining life drowning his emotions, probably, too afraid to face his own actions. He always mentions how much his chest hurts whenever he thinks back to that time.

He is ready to die smiling if it means Kishiar doesn't have to suffer as his did in their first lives. And Kishiar, of the present life, suffers too. He has to witness Yuder, the person he loves the most, get himself in dangerous situations, get injured again and again, even to the point of almost getting killed... He is watching Yuder repent for what he did to a version of Kishiar himself that no longer exists. In many ways, that Yuder and Kishiar will never get their closure. There are some questions that can no longer be answered. I don't know how present Kishiar will react when he learns the truth.

Just rambling on Turning:

These last chapters just FLEW BY! Didn't even realise I am already up to date with the English translation. Also...ofc Kishiar is losing his sleep after having that nightmare. He can't even tolerate a bruise on Yuder. He can't bear that Yuder skipped a meal. He has full confidence in his talent as a fierce warrior and knows that Yuder is powerful af. But that doesn't take away his fear of Yuder getting hurt. Everything he has done to make sure Yuder stays as safe as he can and every time he gets hurt, Kishiar never gets angry at him. He only blames himself. He is always so gentle with him. Kishiar loves every part of Yuder. Kishiar doesn't care what Yuder is, all he care about is that, it's Yuder. Nothing else matters. I can't imagine how he must have felt to just be completely helpless and watch Yuder of another future in his nightmare, all defeated, mutilated, his limbs rendered useless, missing an eye, and just barely alive, thrown on the guillotine and executed. Kishiar was almost on the verge of losing his mind, his inhibitions, his morality even, not hesitating to even utilise forbidden gross magic to keep that supposed future from happening.

No wonder Yuder decided to just tell him everything. Well, almost, everything. That he has travelled from the future that no longer exists. That he has met a Kishiar that's not him but also him at the same time. That he has loved through a horrific future and is actively trying to change it. now. And all Kishiar could think of is blaming this other him that failed to save Yuder. All he asks now is to let him hold Yuder as he is. And he still can't help but be obsessed with this previous game, trying to figure out Yudrain's life and how he could make things different and better for Yuder. He plays the game again and again to figure out what and how and why things happened the way it did then, consumed with anxiety. But he still won't force his beloved to tell him more, because, this man will always try his level best and even beyond that to never hurt his Yuder "again". Even when Yuder himself confessed later on that he had killed a Kishiar in his previous life, all our present Commander could think of is how Yudrain had done a favour by giving a quick death to that version of him. How Yuder of that timeline should have beat him up for playing tricks on him. I feel like the present Kishiar will also carry the guilt and horror of what that version of him had done to that (no this) Yuder during his second gender manifestation. That previous life of theirs was really...just a domino series of tragic events, where one died and one lived on with the burden of death. Like our Yuder, I too, think of what must be going through this brilliant man's mind right now.

Kishiar should realise tho how much his absolute faith and confidence in Yuder has helped Yuder himself in tearing his own walls down, helped be a better version of Yudrain, and live a life with loved ones around him. All the flashbacks to Yudrain, where Kishiar's omnipresent voice seems to still guide him, are so full of dull sadness. There is so much going on in this novel but this underlying sorrow seems to always persist between the words. That Yuder and that Kishiar never really got closure, torn apart by the very source of their power, be it directly or indirectly. It's a tragic love story that got a second chance but that still won't erase the fact that a Yudrain lived and was loved by his Kishiar and they never realised how much the other person loved them.
