fic rec! 3.4K featuring god!Percy
Summary: Percy meets his friends on the battlefield and they all know he’s unbeatable, even alone. And he is alone, even with the sea and the earth and the blessing of the Styx and the blood in their veins- he can tell they think he’s gone as mad as Luke.
Comments: What really makes me love this is the subtle clues that with the defeat of Gaia, all that power went to Percy. And it makes him play a long game. Not as long as Gaia, but he bids his time and makes smart choices until it's time to announce it.

My tag list is a mess, I honestly didn’t think I’d ever have anyone that gave enough of a shit to actually read my stuff, so I had no plan for organization. I kind of just tag everyone on everything and hope they want it, that’s bad. So I’m going to clean it up.
Below is a a list, and brief description of my WIPs, as well as links to their individual master list. To get a taste of my one shot prowess, head over to my main master list to check out what I’ve done so far. I have tagged everyone who has ever requested to be tagged in my stuff, let me know what you want to be tagged in either by comment here, or DM me. If you want me to stop tagging you period, just don’t respond back, and I’ll take the hint (no hard feelings).
If you want to continue to be tagged, please respond by 3/1, if you don’t respond, you will not be tagged in anything I post from 3/2 onward.
Permatags: Tagged in any fic I post. This includes ATOC. Right now, I’m only really writing TRR/TRH stuff, if I branch out and write from other stories, I will reach out to you and ask if you’re interested before tagging you.
A Taste of Cordonia (ATOC): Not a fic, in this series, I go through all of the books in the Royal saga and review the food and drinks that they have along the way. I add some personal anecdotes and humor as I go.
Sapere Aude: Sapere Aude follows Riley immediately after the final s cene of The Royal Heir book 3 as she is invited to join the Via Imperii. It is basically just me writing my version of book 4 before Pixelberry releases theirs.
The Adventures of Uncle Drake: A series of one shots from my Sapere Aude world that digs into the relationship of the Royal Heir, Princess Eleanor and her Uncle Drake.
One Shots: If you don’t want the commitment of a series, but you’re still down for some good old fashioned fluff from time to time.
Specific Pairings: Romantically, I really only write Liam x Riley, but I do also specialize in friendship fics, so if I have a particular friendship pairing that you are into, or you want to dig deeper into my version of Liam and Riley let me know who.
Thank you for your time.

Turns out I have one more Valentine’s Day fic in me. Instead of romantic Valentine stuff, I’m all about that cute little kid Valentine fluff, which means it’s time for our second installment of...

Drake entered the palace and headed straight for the Great Room. Riley and Liam had a couple of meetings that were going to run late, so he agreed to pick up Eleanor from her lessons and watch her until they got back. He got there to find Thomas, Eleanor’s guard, standing watch at the door.
“Babysitting duty again, Walker?” Thomas extended his hand, shaking Drake’s.
“Yea, you know how it is. She almost done?”
“Should be wrapping up, I’ll go get her for you.” He entered the room, and returned shortly after with Eleanor in tow.
“Uncle Drake!” Eleanor ran straight for him at full speed. He caught her in his arms and lifted her up, placing a kiss on her cheek.
“Hey kiddo, how were your lessons?”
“They were good. I learned about manners today. Thank you for asking.” She smiled proudly.
Drake put her back down on the ground and took her hand in his. “Well look at that, already putting it into practice. Your parents are going to be very proud. I was going to hang out with you for a bit, until they’re done with their meetings, would that be ok with you?”
“Yay! Can we color?”
“I think we could make that happen.”
They got back to the Royal quarters, and after getting Eleanor changed and giving her a quick snack, Drake set them up on the coffee table with some paper and crayons.
“Hey, Uncle Drake?” Eleanor put down her crayon and looked up at him thoughtfully.
“Hey Eleanor.” He looked up and smiled.
“Will you be my Valentime?” She looked at him hopefully.
Drake was slightly taken aback by the question. “You want me to be your Valentine?” She grinned and nodded her head. “Why me? I figured you’d ask your dad.”
“No daddy and mommy are valentimes, I need one for me too. Please, Uncle Drake?”
“I would love nothing more, Princess Eleanor.” He reached across the table and lifted her tiny hand to his lips, causing her to giggle.
They continued on with their coloring a little longer, until Riley and Liam entered the room. As soon as she saw them, Eleanor dropped her crayon and ran to them. “Mommy, daddy! I missed you!”
“Aww, we missed you too baby girl. Did you have a good day?” Riley knelt down to her level and gave her a hug.
She nodded her head and smiled. “Uncle Drake is going to be my valentime!”
“He is? That’s wonderful, Princess!” Liam leaned down and hugged his daughter, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Why don’t you go wash up for dinner? We’re going to be eating soon.
“Ok daddy.” She went up to Drake and gave him a hug. “Bye Uncle Drake. Thank you.”
“Anytime kid.” Once Eleanor left the room, Drake turned to his friends. “You know, if you guys wanted time to watch her for Valentine’s Day, you could have just asked. You didn’t need this whole elaborate plot of asking me through the kid.” He chuckled.
“Drake, we didn’t do that. She asked you that completely on her own.” Liam held up his hands, shaking his head.
“Yea, sure.”
“No, really.” Riley interjected. “We weren’t even going to ask you to watch her, we were going to have her go to Ramsford, Maxwell is going to be watching Bartie for Bertrand and Savannah, we were going to set up a slumber party for them.”
Drake's eyes darted between Liam and Riley. “So you mean she asked because…”
“Because she genuinely wants to spend Valentine’s Day with her Uncle Drake.” Liam approached his best friend and clapped him on the back.
“Obviously you don’t have to take her, it’s last minute, we don’t want to mess up your weekend.” Riley said.
“No, really, it’s ok. I’m just kind of surprised, wasn’t expecting that.”
“I’m not, she loves you Drake, she’s always telling us stories about your adventures.” Riley said as she walked into the kitchen to get dinner together.
Drake blushed, he loved spending time with Eleanor too. He always made sure to balance out all of her courtly lessons with real kid stuff so that she was able to have the most normal childhood possible. He knew she had fun when they were together, but he always just assumed Maxwell was the favorite uncle, because he was so loud and crazy. That’s the kind of stuff kids were all about, right?
“Drake, would you like to stay and join us for dinner?” Liam asked, taking Drake out of his thoughts.
“No, that’s alright. I’ve got a big date this weekend, I’ve gotta go get ready.” He smiled as he shook Liam’s hand and gave Riley a hug before heading out the door and back to his cabin.
A few days later, Riley was with Eleanor in her room getting her ready for her evening with Drake. She put her in a red dress with matching shoes. Riley had also put together a small overnight bag with the essentials that Eleanor would need until she returned to the palace the next day. They heard the front door open and Riley smiled at her daughter. “I think your Valentine just got here, Eleanor.”
“Yay! Valentime!”
Riley took Eleanor’s hand and they walked out to the living room where Drake and Liam were sitting on the couch talking. Riley cleared her throat to get their attention. They both stood and turned around, smiling wildly at the sight of the Princess and her excitement for the evening.
“Eleanor, you look stunning. Just like your mother.” Liam bowed, looking up just in time to catch the blush in his wife’s cheeks. He winked at her and smiled.
Drake approached the girls and bowed in front of Eleanor. As he rose, he took her hand and kissed the back of it. “Princess Eleanor, you look beautiful tonight. Here, these are for you.” He pulled a small bouquet of daisies from behind his back and handed them to her.
“For me?” Eleanor asked excitedly, bringing the flowers to her face and smelling them, just like her mother did every time her father would bring flowers home.
“Of course. It’s the rule, you have to get flowers for your Valentine.”
“Eleanor, what do you say?” Riley placed her hand on Eleanor’s back to get her attention.
“Thank you, Uncle Drake!” She smiled and hugged him.
“Good girl. I’ll take these and get them in some water. They’ll be in your room when you get home tomorrow.” Riley took the flowers from Eleanor. “Don’t you have something for your Uncle Drake?”
Eleanor nodded and walked over to the end table by the couch, picking up a red piece of paper. She walked over to Drake and handed it to him. “Here Uncle Drake, happy Valentime’s Day!”
Drake examined the picture, it appeared to be two people among a bunch of squiggly lines. “This is beautiful Eleanor. Is that me and you?”
“Mhm, we’re playing in the garden at Valoria.”
“That’s Valtoria, Eleanor.” Liam interrupted her.
“Daddy, that’s what I said!” She turned around and gave her father a stern face, causing him to chuckle.
“It’s beautiful Eleanor. Thank you so much. Will you help me find a good place to hang it up when we get to my cabin?”
“Sure!”
“Great! Well, we should be heading out. We have a busy night planned.” Drake and Eleanor said their goodbyes to Riley and Liam. Before they walked out the door, Drake extended his hand to Eleanor. “M’lady.” Eleanor put her hand in his, and they walked out the door together.
Once they arrived at Drake’s cabin, he brought her overnight bag to the guest room, and they found a perfect spot right in the center of the refrigerator to display his new artwork. “Alright kiddo, I’m starving. You want to have dinner?”
“Yes please, what are we having?”
“I was thinking we could make a pizza.”
Eleanor got a confused look on her face. “How do you make pizza, Uncle Drake?”
“Come on into the kitchen and I’ll show you.”
They went into the kitchen and made a pizza. Eleanor loved sprinkling on the cheese and getting to artistically placing the toppings on the saucy disc. They cleaned up the kitchen while they waited for it to cook, and once it was finished, they sat at the kitchen table together and enjoyed the fruits of their labor.
“What now, Uncle Drake?”
“I was thinking about setting up the projector by the fire pit so we could have s’mores and a movie. Does that sound like fun?”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “What movie?”
He laughed to himself, what movie was she expecting that would cause her to give him the dirty look he’d seen from Riley countless times? “I mean, I was thinking The Little Mermaid, but if you don’t want to watch that, I guess we could pick something else.”
“No! I love Little Mermaid, she’s my favorite!” She grabbed his hand and dragged him toward the yard.
“Whoa whoa, slow down there killer. I’ve gotta get everything and set up. Why don’t you go wait for me by the fire pit. I’ll be right there.”
She nodded and ran to the backyard. Drake gathered everything he needed, and started setting things up in the backyard as Eleanor watched. Drake had her set up the s’mores supplies on the table. Once everything was ready, he lit the fire and started the movie. They sat watching and eating. Eleanor animatedly explained the movie to Drake, and sang along to all of the songs.
As the movie came to a close, Drake looked over to Eleanor and saw her yawning. “Alright, I think it’s bedtime. There’s not much more fun that can be had tonight. Did you have a good Valentine’s Day, Eleanor?”
“Yes Uncle Drake. Thank you. Happy Valentime’s Day.” She said groggily.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, kiddo.” He lifted her out of her seat and walked her to the guest room to get her changed and into bed.

Housewarming Heart to Heart
Book: The Royal Romance
Pairing: Drake Walker x Riley Brooks (Friendship)
Summary: Drake and Riley step away from his housewarming party, and end up having a heartfelt conversation about their friendship.
Word Count: 1,394
A/N: This is my first fic idea, and the first one I ever started to write. I struggled with it for so long, then I had a conversation with @txemrn where I mentioned it, and she gave me the boost I needed to revisit it so I could finish it and post.
FYI, I hate coming up with titles. I think it’s probably the hardest part of writing a fic, so please be kind to my lackluster titles.
Tags: Below. Good luck actually getting a notification about it! Also, let me know if you want to be added or removed.
Tumblr media
Riley stepped out the front door and saw Drake sitting alone on the porch step, swirling a glass of whiskey.
“You know, Bertrand told me once that it’s a faux pas for a host to leave their own party.” She said, leaning on the doorframe. Her voice brought Drake out of his thoughts as he turned to look at her.
“I just needed a break. It’s exhausting to host a party.”
She moved closer and took a seat next to him on the step. “No shit. At least you know, and like…” she paused, “...tolerate, all of these people. The parties Liam and I host are filled with endless nobles, dignitaries, and other people I’ve met multiple times whose names I can’t remember for the life of me.”
“Yea, and I also remember all of the times I’ve watched the two of you sneaking out of those parties.” He extended his hand, “Nice to meet you pot, I’m kettle.” She rolled her eyes and nudged him with her shoulder.
“Touché. So, the cabin is nice. Very Drake.”
“That’s kind of the look I was going for.”
“You know, you don’t have to leave the palace. We like having you around.”
“I know, but you guys just got married, you’re going to be having kids soon. You need space to start your family.”
“Space? It’s literally a palace, we’re not running low on spare rooms. Besides, you’re our family too, Liam and I having a baby would never change that.”
“I know. It’s just that everyone is starting to get their shit together. You and Liam just got married, Maxwell’s doing this whole book thing, Hannah is working on all that charity stuff. It’s time for me to start building my life.”
Riley wipes away a fake tear, pinching Drake’s cheek with her free hand, “Aww, my little Drakey is growing up.”
“Ha-Ha.” He said, swatting her hand away.
“Drake, honestly, I think that’s great. Obviously it’s going to be a bummer that you’re not around as much, but I’m really happy for you.” She said earnestly.
“Thanks, Brooks.” Drake starred out into the woods that surrounded his new home. “You know if someone had told me, when Maxwell walked on that plane with our waitress from the night before, that we’d be here right now, I would have thought they were certifiable.”
“I knew we would, even though things got kind of weird there with us for a minute.” She linked her arm in his and rested her head on his shoulder.
****
Applewood Manor - Social Season:
“If we’d met somewhere else...anywhere else. At a club in New York, or in an airport , or at a party. If you hadn’t been our waitress that night, and I hadn’t been sitting next to Liam. Do you think that all of this...do you think it could’ve been different...between us?”
“Drake, I’m here for Liam.”
“I know. I’m sorry. I...What am I doing? I need to go.”
****
Drake took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair. “Yea, I don’t think I ever really apologized to you for that whole thing.”
“You don’t have to, I don’t ever want you to think you have to apologize for how you feel. I’m just glad we’re able to be friends.”
“We were always friends, that’s the thing.”
“What do you mean?” She looked up at him, puzzled.
“You know the story, I grew up a commoner among nobility. Nobody really cared to get to know me, so I built up walls and didn’t let people in. Liam was the only one that really cared enough to break through them. Until you. As hard as I tried to push you away and keep you out, you’d come back at me twice as hard. You’re kind of a pain in the ass.”
“One of my many charms.” Riley gave him a cheesy smile and batted her eyelashes.
Drake let out a chuckle and shook his head, he continued, looking down into the glass of whiskey he had been nursing. “If that’s what you want to call it. Anyway, when we started getting close, I was feeling things that I had never felt about a girl before, I didn’t know what it meant.”
“So what cleared it up for you?”
“When you and Liam told us about your engagement. I was so happy for both of you. And that’s all I felt. There was no jealousy, no sadness, I was just happy for my friends. That’s when I realized that I do love you, but in the same way that I love Liam or Savannah. As a best friend, as family.”
Riley felt the tears build up behind her eyes. She and Drake were close, and yes, he had an undeniably marshmallowy center, but he had never actually used those terms about her. It hit a little different to actually hear him refer to her as a best friend, let alone family. Drake saw her holding back her tears and sarcastically rolled his eyes. He knew she was never going to let him live this moment down.
“You’re my best friend too, you know.” She replied, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
“I thought Maxwell was your best friend?”
“Nah, he’s my bestie, it’s different. He’s my party friend. The one I go to karaoke with, the one that watches old cheesy teen dramas with me when I need to unwind. He’s fun, I love him, he’s my brother, but he’s not my best friend.”
“I’m not fun?!” Drake made a shocked expression, and brought his hand to his chest in mock outrage.
She rolled her eyes, looping her arm through his and continued, “You’re a different kind of fun. You’re the kind of fun that reminds me of my previous life. When we hang out, it’s just like when I would hang out with my friends in New York. We give each other shit and complain about stuff. But I know when things get heavy, you’ll do whatever it takes to make sure I am happy and safe.”
“...like get shot?” He looked over at Riley and cocked an eyebrow.
“Of course you go for the biggest example first. I was going to say share your whiskey with me.” She grabbed the glass from his hand and took a sip. As she lowered it from her lips, she grinned and held the glass up to Drake in a ‘cheers’ motion. He frowned at her and snatched it back, downing the rest of the liquid in one gulp, and placed the glass behind him on the porch.
“For real though, Maxwell and Bertrand taught me all the proper etiquette, crap so I could make it at court, but you taught me how to survive court. That’s the reason Liam and I made it. You’re the reason Liam and I made it.”
“Nah, you guys would have made it with or without me. You’re made for eachother.”
“Careful, Walker, your marshmallow is showing.” Riley poked her index finger into Drake’s side with a wide grin.
“There you are, love. I was starting to fear that you had gone home without me.” Riley and Drake turned back to the door as Liam approached them, extending his hand toward Riley to help her up.
“Never, My King. What’s the point of being home if you’re not there with me?” She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek as he pulled her closer.
Drake stood and wiped his hands on the front of his jeans as he faced his friends.
“Drake, this has been a wonderful party, your new home is lovely. Unfortunately, Riley and I are going to need to take off. I have some early meetings in the morning.” Liam shook Drake’s hand and clapped him on the back.
“Yea, of course. I appreciate you guys taking the time to come.”
“We’ll always have time for you Marshmallow. Please don’t ever forget that.” Riley pulled him into a tight hug.
“I’m pretty sure you’d never let me.”
“Damn straight.” Riley smiled at him before taking Liam’s hand and walking down the porch steps to their waiting SUV.
Drake started to walk back into the cabin, he paused and laughed to himself when he heard Riley raise her voice, annoyed, “He’s my BESTIE it’s different. Ugh, boys are so dumb!”

TRR Book 3, Chapter 6: A Retelling
Pairing: Liam x Riley
Warnings: None, tame fluff piece. Some allusion to 🍋 but noting even remotely racy.
Word Count: 1,316
Author’s Note: This is my first story ever. I had an idea to take the spa scene from TRR3 and re-tell it from the perspective of Maxwell, Drake, and Hana after Liam and Riley sneak off for some alone time. I hope you all enjoy it. Shout out to @bebepac for looking it over for me and providing some super helpful feedback!!!
The Tag list is just my Taste of Cordonia tag list, plus a couple of sweethearts who have been so kind and encouraged me to write (and who talked me off a ledge last night when I was panicking about posting this). If you want to be added or removed for future fics, just let me know!
Tag List: @txemrn, @kingliam2019, @anjanettexcordonia, @texaskitten30, @twinkleallnight, @mile9213, @kittypryde-bipride, @motorcitymademadame, @kat-tia801, @bebepac
It was an emotional day at Applewood Manor, seeing the orchards completely destroyed was like a punch in the stomach to everyone. They were able to make it through the press conference and tree planting without issue. The mood quickly turned for the better once they invited little Jiro and Camellia to join them for a game of soccer in the Manor’s Courtyard. A game that proved to be exhausting and strenuous, which led Maxwell to suggest returning to the spa they had visited after the barn raising. A little relaxation was absolutely needed, and that was exactly what they were going to get, especially considering Madeline turned down the invitation Maxwell felt obligated to extend with her standing there as they made the plans.
Once they arrived, they split off into the designated changing areas, and met back up in the co-ed room. They each entered the pool and grabbed a glass of the complimentary cider that had been set out for them. The realization soon hit them, that the cider was likely made with apples from the now defunct orchard, which brought the mood down, once again. In the sake of keeping things light, they quickly changed the subject with a toast to the orchard, the Cordonian citizens, and “the best friends in the whole world,” which led Riley and Maxwell into one of their signature bits about how loveable they were. Once the toast was completed, Liam effortlessly slid beside Riley. The two of them started whispering and making those eyes at each other. Soon after that, they climbed out of the pool and started heading out the door.
Maxwell caught them exiting out of the corner of his eye, “Hey, where are those two going?”
“Do you really have to ask?” Drake replied, as he finished off his glass of sparkling cider.
“But this is supposed to be friend time. No cliques!” Maxwell protested. He loved having this tight group of friends, and he knew once Riley and Liam got married, moments like this would be few and far between. Riley would be thrust into the role of Queen, which would give his best friend much less time for movie nights and karaoke parties. He thought the Unity Tour would give them one last hurrah as a group. That wasn’t going to happen if Liam and Riley kept sneaking away.
“Maxwell,” Hana turned to face him “They’re both going through a lot right now. I’m sure they just need a moment.” She laid a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“As much as all of this sucks for us, think of how it is for them. We all saw first hand how hard they had to fight to be together, the hell they both went through. They finally get that, and announce their engagement, and it gets overshadowed by these attacks.” Drake explains, matter of factly.
“On top of that, Liam hasn’t been King for that long, I can imagine he’s taking these attacks very personally, and doubting himself as a ruler.” Hana added.
“Exactly. Liam’s pretty comfortable turning off that King stuff with us, and just being himself. But since the attacks, I can see that the wall isn’t fully coming down. If anyone can change that, it’s Brooks. He needs this, they both do.”
“Yea, I guess you’re right. More pool space for the rest of us!” Maxwell hopped out of the pool and slowly backed up, a grin spreading across his face.
“Beaumont, don’t you--” before Drake could finish his warning, Maxwell charged full speed toward the pool.
“CANNONBALL!!!” Maxwell hugged his knees in and flew through the air. The water displaced and the huge splash completely drenched Drake and Hana.
Drake grimaced as he pushed the wet hair out of his face, Hana laughed and applauded Maxwell's less than graceful, dive. The three friends sat in the pool area a bit longer, joking and chatting and reminiscing about the good times they had all shared since Liam’s social season. Drake glanced up at the clock and realized how late it was getting.
“We should probably head out. They’re going to be closing soon.” Drake stepped out of the pool they had been relaxing in, and grabbed a towel. Maxwell and Hana agreed, drying themselves off and heading back towards the changing rooms.
As they walked down the hall, Hana asked “What about Riley and Liam? We don’t know where they went.”
Maxwell heard some muffled noises coming from one of the saunas, he slowed down and pressed his ear to the door. He paused, his eyes went wide and his face started to turn red.
“What happened, Maxwell? What’s going on?” Drake looked concerned, and sped up his pace to meet him at the door.
“I...uh...I think I found them.” Maxwell started to giggle.
As Drake’s ear hits the door, it is met with a deep groan from the other side. “Yup, that’s them alright.” He shook his head as he stepped away and continued walking.
Maxwell knocks on the door “Hey, get a room, you two!”
He and Hana giggled as they went on their way.
A few minutes later, Liam joined Drake and Maxwell in the men’s changing area. “Well, I’m feeling relaxed.”
“I’ll bet you are.” Drake replied, raising an eyebrow at his friend.
“Yes, sorry about that, we seem to have gotten a bit carried away.” Liam replied sheepishly.
“Meh, it’s not like it’s the first time we’ve heard that. You guys get carried away a lot.” Drake shrugged.
Liam looked up at his friends with an expression of shock and confusion.
“Yea, we went camping with you guys in France, remember?” Maxwell said, nudging Liam with his elbow.
“...and you assigned me to the room next to Brooks when we were in Applewood for your engagement tour.” Drake added.
“Ok, ok, so we haven’t been quite as discreet as we thought we were. You’ve made that point very clear. Thank you.” Liam’s face was bright red, as he turned to his locker and took his clothes out to change.
Maxwell and Drake continued to give him a hard time as they finished getting their things together, and soon they headed out of the changing area to meet up with Riley and Hana, who were already in the lobby waiting for them. As soon as Riley saw the three men walking towards them her cheeks turned pink and her eyes fell to the floor.
“Brooks.” Drake nodded.
“Blossom,” Maxwell winked and nudged Riley’s shoulder.
“Hey guys.” Riley mumbled, barely above a whisper, clasping her hands behind her back.
Hana followed Drake and Maxwell to the door, Liam stepped up to Riley and put his arm around her shoulders, as they started to walk towards the exit.
“Are you alright, love?” Liam inquired, rubbing his hand up and down her arm to soothe her.
“Liam, they HEARD us. It’s so embarrassing!” she looked up at him, and the horror in her eyes made Liam chuckle.
“I don’t know if this will make you feel better or worse, but apparently, this wasn’t the first time.” He pulled her closer.
“I know! Hana said that every time we go missing the guys place bets on which one of us comes back more disheveled. And by the way...worse, it definitely makes me feel worse.” Riley grumbled with a deep sigh.
“Would you like to stop sneaking away from events? It’s certainly not my preferred solution, but I will do whatever makes you happy.” He stopped walking and turned to face her.
“No! Of course not! Sneaking away is my favorite part of events! Maybe we could just try to put a little more emphasis on the sneaking part.” Riley suggested with a shy smile.
“As you wish, my Queen.” Liam kissed her forehead, and took her hand in his before continuing out the door.

I took some time away from A Taste of Cordonia to focus on my fics, and my real life, but I’m back baby! And now, we’re headed to Applewood Manor for apples, apples, and more apples. It’s the Apple Blossom Festival! 🍎🍎🍎🍎
Apple-mania starts with a taste of the first apples from the seasons Cordonian Ruby crop.
Tumblr media
I mean, they really make these apples sound appealing. I love bitter, I love sour, and I love being nauseated! FYI - that was sarcasm, I don’t love any of those things. Here’s the deal with me and apples, i have a solid month in the fall where I’m all in with apples. I throw on a flannel and some leggings like a real basic bitch, I go to an orchard, pick some apples, and have a hell of a time. 30 days later, I’m sick of them and don’t want anything to do with them. I don’t know if I actually like them, so much as I get caught up in the seasonal hype. I guess if I were to be the Queen of Cordonia, I’d probably have to eat a couple more apples a year. Apparently, also significantly more horrible apples than I am used to. Maybe, once I become Queen, I can pay someone to swap my Cordonian Rubies out with Red Delicious or something. Oh what a scandal that would be! 2/10
During MC’s secret rendezvous, she learns that it’s Drake’s birthday, so the gang goes out to an American Western themed bar to celebrate! MC chooses from 3 options for Drake: whiskey, a fruity drink, or something on fire.

I’m sure you’re sick of me talking about whiskey, so I’m not even going to bother. If you want to know how I feel about it, shame on you, you clearly haven’t read my previous reviews. Stop here, go to my masterlist, and catch up! It’s ok, I’ll wait.

Let’s get to the fruity drink, aka my drink. I’m not a big drinker, but when I do drink, I like my alcohol to not taste like alcohol. My first choice is sweet, chocolaty drinks, but I won’t turn down something fruity, especially if it’s frozen. I swear, I belong on a tropical island somewhere. 8/10
So, we’re lighting drinks on fire now? That’s a thing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I’ve never actually seen a flaming drink in person. It doesn’t seem particularly safe or enticing. Also, I looked it up, and the thing that makes it catch fire is the high-proof alcohol. I feel like that means the drink tastes very much like alcohol, so I’d probably hate it, but it looks cool as fuck. 3/10
The next day, before heading out to the festival, MC tells Bertrand and Maxwell about her apple-tastic breakfast.
Tumblr media
That’s...a lot of apples. Individuality, sure, not too bad, but all at once. Wow. And what did she put the butter on? The tart? Did she mix it into the cider? Maybe she just ate it straight up with a spoon? On, let’s break this down:
I’ve never had an apple tart, but I looked it up, and the ingredients seem like something I’d be down with. It seems kind of like an open face apple pie. Or like a more chic apple pie for fancy people. 6/10
As with the whiskey, I won’t bore you with another apple cider review. I will say, it strikes me as a weird breakfast choice. Apple juice seems like it’s more appropriate. Then again, I’m not 4, so maybe not. 10/10
Apple butter, this is an interesting one. The only time I’ve ever had flavored butter was at Texas Road House (that butter...those rolls...*chef’s kiss*). I’d be willing to give it a shot, I don’t hold high hopes for enjoying it though. 5/10
Finally, the suitors split off into two teams and compete in an apple pie baking contest.
Tumblr media
Another repeat review. You’ve heard my schpiel about apple pie, and my dad baking the best ones ever and so on and so on, so this is another positive review...unless you let Olivia sabotage the other team, then that shit is nasty, and you’re a dirty rotten cheater. 9/10

Here’s a little bit from Riley’s long anticipated brunch meeting. Hoping it will be out later this week!
“Riley, please, I know how all of this may seem to you, but you haven’t been getting the entire story. There are very few people in the organization that have the full picture. I am one of those people, and I am here to fill you in on everything.”
“So fill me in. I’d love to know why you’re so hellbent on destroying the son you abandoned.” She crossed her arms over her chest. As hard as she tried to stay calm, the longer she sat there, starting at this woman, the more angry she got. Not for herself, for Liam. She was so protective over him, he was always so worried about others, his kingdom, his friends, his family, he needed someone to worry about him. That was a burden she would gladly bear.
