Klara Andersson luego de su debut en la Extreme E: “Espero volver a competir pronto, ¡nunca se sabe! Me encantaría ser parte de Extreme E en el futuro”

La piloto sueca Klara Andersson tuvo un debut soñado en Extreme E en el Copper X-Prix en Chile luego de recibir un llamado de última hora por parte de ABT Cupra para reemplazar a Jutta Kleinschmidt en las últimas horas del viernes. Después de poder probar el auto de la categoría en un par de vueltas, Klara comenzó inmediatamente las competencias. Su momento destacado llegó en la Semi Final 2 donde adelantó a Sara Price para lograr la clasificación junto a Nasser Al-Attiyah a la Final, donde obtendrían el tercer puesto luego de la penalización al Ganassi y al McLaren.

“Me enteré el viernes por la noche. A partir de ahí, pasé unas horas con el equipo de Extreme E y Abt Cupra XE para obtener toda la información y el conocimiento sobre el auto y el formato del campeonato, y a la mañana siguiente, ¡estaba en el auto para la Clasificación 1!” describió Klara sobre como supo que tenía que competir el sábado por la mañana en Chile.

“Ha pasado más de un año desde la última vez que conduje el Odyssey 21, y eso fue solo unas pocas vueltas en la prueba de novatos con los amortiguadores viejos. Sin embargo, me sorprendió gratamente lo bien que sentí casi de inmediato. El equipo me apoyó mucho y me ayudó a encontrar el ritmo rápidamente” explicó Klara sobre su experiencia previa en Extreme E. Sobre si su nivel, que fue alto desde su primera sesión en pista, era esperado por ella, la sueca indicó que se mostró sorprendida: “En absoluto, como dije, me sorprendió gratamente, ¡fue una gran sensación! Dado que solo conduje el Odyssey 21 durante unas pocas vueltas, hace un año, no sabía qué esperar, especialmente porque muchos de los pilotos han estado conduciendo desde el primer evento el año pasado. En la Clasificación 1, me aseguré de tomar todo con la mayor calma posible, mientras que en la Clasificación 2 fue genial tener una pequeña batalla con los otros autos para asegurar nuestro lugar en las Semifinales”

La sueca agradeció el apoyo de ABT Cupra durante el fin de semana que la llevó a tener un buen resultado en el podio el domingo: “Es un equipo muy profesional que me recibió increíblemente bien. Fue muy agradable trabajar con ellos durante todo el fin de semana y aprendí mucho. No me presionaron, pero me entrenaron para que fuera más y más rápido en la pista”

Klara proviene del Rallycross por lo tanto se sintió mucho mejor en la pista cuando salió a enfrentar a otros autos en el circuito del Copper X-Prix: “¡Sí, lo hice! Me siento cómoda con los autos a mi alrededor, y es más fácil ver dónde ganas y pierdes ritmo. ¡También me aseguré de tener un plan de juego cuando salía en las eliminatorias!” describió, además detallando su maniobra destacada sobre Sara Price en la Semi: “¡Ese fue sin duda uno de los momentos más destacados! Planeé ese movimiento después de la primera vuelta y, afortunadamente, obtuve buena velocidad sobre la cresta para sumergirme en el interior cuesta abajo. Sabía que era importante para mí ceder el relevo a Nasser (Al-Attiyah) corriendo en las dos primeras posiciones, así que estaba orgullosa de haber aprovechado la oportunidad para adelantar. ¡Yo estaba tan feliz!”

“¡Fue una sensación increíble cuando recibimos la noticia de que éramos P3! Todos en el equipo trabajaron muy duro durante el fin de semana, y estaba muy feliz de que todos terminaran bien, especialmente después de lo que le sucedió a Jutta (Kleinschmidt), que pudimos regresar y terminar fuertes juntos como equipo. ¡Toda mi familia estaba viendo desde Suecia y estaban súper felices! A veces, solo tienes una oportunidad como piloto para mostrar tu ritmo, así que espero que esto haya demostrado lo que puedo hacer” describió Klara Andersson sobre sus sensaciones luego de ser tercera en Chile. “Espero volver a competir pronto, ¡nunca se sabe! Me encantaría ser parte de Extreme E en el futuro”, concluyó.

La Extreme E regresa el 26 y 27 de noviembre con el Energy X-Prix en Uruguay.
