WHY HAND KNITTING?
I like hand knitting and all my designs are created for this knitting type. Maybe you didn’t know, but I have a knitting machine as well. Unfortunately, I don’t use it much. Why? Now I’m going to explain it.
I bought it 7 years ago when I wanted to use it for knitting goods for sale. I tried and, having no experience, found that any stuff made on knitting machine takes much more time than hand knitting!
In that period my son was very little and frequently I found dropped stitched, cause he liked to move needle levers...
I hadn’t a special table to store it and I used an ironing board for this. As you can image it was extremely uncomfortable.
Obviously, having all those problems, I didn’t receive pleasure from the knitting process, so I stopped to use it.
What about you? Do you have a knitting machine? Do you use it frequently or prefer hand knitting? Write about it, I’m very curios.

There are just naturally beautiful reminders of the holiday all around us!! For the past few years I’ve become more intentional in enjoying these little points. Quiet evenings, Christmas carols, family dinners, gift shopping together, and reading the story Jesus thru the book of Luke. #creates2finds #knitterlifestyle #holidayreminders #remembertobe #beinthemoment (at Salem, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq7_yYrFfHu/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=gi4vv8tyikh5

SUMMER HOLIDAYS
Finally, today I feel myself as good as never before cause my holidays have started!!! This year was very hard and I had so many plans to realize!.. Because of different  reasons  I couldn’t finish all of them, but now it’s time to relax and to generate a lot of creative energy for the next year.
Last week was full of events and activities because of the knitting project birthday, so I hadn’t time to publish my new baby design. I plan to do it next days, so you’ll have enough time to realize it for your babies. I really hope that you’ll like it.
I wish you a productive week if you work or a relaxing one if you are in holidays, like me.  See you in September!

NEW DESIGN IS ARRIVING
Last week I told you that I had started to work on a new pattern. I have a very beautiful bonnet pattern, I mean the «Drops of dew» bonnet. I like much patterns 😍 I used in it and it’s time to create another design to complete it.
I thought much about what model can complete the bonnet goodly 🤔. At the beginning I decided to create a jacket design, but later I changed my idea. I believe that the best way to complete a summer bonnet is to couple it with a dress 👗 design. I already have a sleeveless summer dress “Lotus flower”, so, this time I decided to make it with sleeves.
Then I had some doubts about the lace patterns. I mean they’re not easy, especially the border one. Is it possible to knit them in the round❓ I found that it is, maybe it not easy, but it can be. I’m going to make process photos 📸 about it to make the knitting process easier for you.
So, the pattern is in progress and I really hope to finish it in June. So, be ready and don’t miss it! I would not recommend it for beginners, but knitters with experience will be able to realize it without problems 👍.

MAY RESULTS AND FUTURE PLANS 📅
I like to make plans and to share them with you. Doing in such a way, I make myself inclined to realize them. Last time I did it in February 😖, so today is the right moment to restart this “tradition”. As usual, let’s start with last results and then I’ll tell you about future plans.

▫️ The main news is that I have gone back to my baby designs and I have started to work on a new baby dress design. It’s amazing!  I know, I can’t say such things about my own designs, but I really like the lace pattern I use in it. I had many doubts about how to realize it working in the round. I thought that it’ll be not easy to knit. Fortunately, I could do it and I really hope that it will be ready till the end of the month 🤞 .
▫️ In June  I’m also  going to create another pattern set on LoveCrafts. I speak about the “Chocolate wafers” set designs. Actually, the patterns are already exists, but as single models. I would systemize them in a set design. Obviously, it’ll have a very attractive price 😍
▫️ Moreover, this summer I plan to renew my old bonnet designs: “Lotus flower”, “Whirls” and “Honey combs”. So, I’m glad to inform you that those patterns now are available at DISCOUNT price! This promotion will be valid till the moment of pattern renewing. Don’t miss the chance to buy them at reduced price! 😍
What do you think about my results and future plans?! I’m very excited and I really want to realize all those points! I really hope that you’ll support me. You can do it leaving likes and comments under this post or sharing it with others. Acting in this way you will make it visible to others. Thanks! ❤

HOW DID I START?
I have started to make posts here few months ago and I’m sure that you don’t know my designer story. Today I’m going to share it with you and I really hope that you’ll find it interesting. ⠀ You might guess that it’s hard to find a job for a stranger. First few years after my arriving in Italy, I was looking for it. I thought much about a way to earn a bit of money and to help my family. As I could knit goodly,  I decided to start as a knitter who makes knitted products for selling. I read many books, watched some tutorial videos and realized few crocheted baby booties. By the way, you can see them in my shop in Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/knitbabywear/shop/. I must confess that, as nobody knew me, I hadn’t a big success.
Then I thought about my own designs. I think it’s because I always wanted to add some details or to change models I saw in knitting journals. In 2017 I made my first baby pullover pattern “Sweet prince”. I tried to make it as good as I could do it in that period. I translated it in 3 languages: English, Italian and Russian. I was very happy for a first customer, but I didn’t consider this activity as a real job and I stopped it few months later when I found a job as IT-consultant.
In 2019 I turned back to pattern creation. I saw so many baby designs in Internet and I wanted to make something similar. I started from a baby bonnet pattern. It hasn’t a title and I even didn’t write it down cause I had no ideas to sell it. I had liked such activity, I still didn’t think about it as a way to earn money. Anyway, I wrote down my next one to be able to repeat it to order. It was the baby bonnet “Butterfly”. When it was finished, I uploaded it on Ravelry and noticed a big interest in it from other knitters. So, my “baby knitwear designer story” had started.
In 2019 I created other 5 patterns, but the most productive year was 2020. In that year I created 11 designs!!! Now I make a pattern each 3-4 months. All of them you can find in my online shops.

LoveCrafts: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/user/knitted-baby-wear/efd43143-bca7-47f3-8836-dd5ced0728a6
The process is slow cause I have back to my main job and I haven’t much free time.
I want to thank all knitters who supported me with my first patterns and continue to do it now. Thank to all of my followers for your interest, comments, photos and likes. Any your feedback is very important to me!

ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH MY PATTERNS?
One of my main goals as a designer is to make my customers satisfied with my patterns. I believe that the knitting should give pleasure and to be a very relaxing hobby. Sometimes it’s difficult to reach cause we’re individual and some things, which I believe easy and clear, are not the same to others. That’s why I ask you frequently to leave a feedback, cause it helps me to understand your “weak points” and to explain them in details.
Obviously your satisfaction with my patterns is the main parameter. So, today I share with you the results of knitters who already became my customers. Why am I doing it? Cause I want to be honest with you and to show you that, despite some problems and difficulties, my customers are mainly satisfied by my designs.
I would thank knitters who left feedbacks and comments about my work. I read all of them and refresh my patterns according to your recommendations: add more photos or tutorial videos or make text description clearer.
I remember you that you can leave your feedback here: https://forms.gle/KdtmYgYsjs6vKCCs9
Having any question don’t hesitate to ask me about it. I’ll glad to assist you.

ONE MORE TIME ABOUT DROPS YARNS
Last year I made a post about Drops yarns. I was upset about its quality and decided to stop to use it in future projects.
You wouldn't believe, but I have bought Drops cotton yarn one more time 🙍. I have some ideas about future designs and soon I'm going to start to realize them. I really hope that this time I'll not be disappointed  because of its quality. Look at those colors! They're amazing, isn't it?!
What do you think about Drops yarns? Share your opinion in comments, please 😉.

7 POINTS TO PAY ATTENTION BUYING A KNITTING PATTERN ⠀ Good morning! ⠀ As many of you I buy knitting patterns. You can ask me why if I can knit anything. Yes, it’s true, but having not much time, sometimes I prefer to pay money for a pattern than to spend time looking for necessary information in Internet. ⠀ Find below 7 points I pay attention to, buying a knitting pattern:⠀ - gauge;⠀ - clear and complete test description;⠀ - measurements table (not only size S/M/L, bur also length and circumferences);⠀ - good photos of design and knitting process;⠀ - price;⠀ - patterns chart (I prefer it to a test description);⠀ - original model. ⠀ Yes, the list isn’t short… but the pattern hasn’t to regard all of them. The 3 first ones are most important to me. Without them I’ll never buy any knitting pattern.
What about you? What are the most important for you?

MY KNITTING/CROCHETING STORY ⠀ I have started to make posts here a couple of weeks ago, but I still haven’t told you about myself and my story. So, today it’s the right moment to change it and to tell you my knitting story. Many knitters start to knit in childhood, when their mother or grandmother teaches them. My story is quite different. ⠀ One of my grandmothers could knit goodly 👵, but she made only socks for all her big family. In that period we lived in Siberia and I remember goodly how each year a wooden box with sweets and wool handmade socks arrived from my grandmother to our home. My older sister wanted to study knitting and asked every knitter she knew to teach her. They showed to us knitting basics, I repeated them, but I wasn't interested in knitting. 😕 ⠀ Many years later, few months after the death of my grandmother, I walked in a spring period and met a little girl dressed in a crochet jacket. It was so beautiful and she looked so cute 😍, that I had decided to try to make a crocheted easy good for me. So, I made my first crochet top and since that day I can't live without creative activity.
Some years later I restarted to knit and now, after 21 years of knitting/crocheting experience, I have 38 my own knitting designs (find them here: https://www.ravelry.com/designers/irina-marzo)! It’s amazing! Sometimes I can’t believe that I created them all! ⠀ What about you? What do you prefer knitting or crochet? Tell me about it, I'm very curious.
