The colour here looks awful, but this is that green cardigan I was working on before I gave birth. My little one is now too big for the project but I have a friend who is expecting, so I'm hoping to finish the cardigan before their baby arrives.

Baby Dedication Dress

I finished my baby's dedication dress! My favorite color is purple, so I used it for the flowers and sash. The original pattern is a regular toddler dress in grey and pink, but I thought it was perfect for a dedication dress. I didn't really alter it, so I'm posting the pattern below.

Baby knits 🥺🥺

No, I'm not pregnant. Look at this blog.. come on people.. you know I'm single. BUT MY BROTHER ISN'T SO I'VE BECOME AN AUNT IN THESE RECENT MONTHS AND THEREFORE: BABY KNITS!! 🥳🥳🥳

A little puppy sweater 🥺🥺I loved the knitting, hated the embroidery...

And a little cardigan with two crocheted hearts 🥰 This was supposed to have an embroidered bee but... read the previous paragraph 😶 The greys are nearly similar, one is just a wee shader lighter than the other and currently I'm knitting, this time in woolly yarn and not cotton, a little sweater-cardi set too.

This was the first time I've ever knit anything in a raglan style and I need to make some stuff for myself in this style too. This other set I'm working on will have a round yoke which is also something I've never knit before but I want to try out. And what's a better way to try out knitting styles than making wee tiny clothes? 🥺

*note: these have a long tail cast on and the very basic cast off style, which are usually how I make most of my garments. BUT I've been trying to improve myself and try different things so this set I'm working on I'm using the Italian cast-on and cast-off instead, will be trying two different methods for the cast-on too and seeing which one I like best

Been busy, so no knitting

I haven't had any time for knitting these past few months, but I'm finally here to share the baby blanket in use and an update.

My little one was born at the start of January and she is doing very well.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll get to finish the cardigan I started for her in December. The final month of pregnancy gave me numb fingers a lot of the time and I couldn't feel my needles properly and that made knitting impossible.

But as she gets older, I might be able to knit some more when she's being looked after by her grandparents and so make the older versions of the patterns I had been working from.

Anyway...

Today, I've been busy making pom poms for her to play with.

I got the idea after going to a local "family space" and seeing the sensory toys they had there. I've got plenty of wool and ways to make pom poms and she seems to approve of the first attempt.

My favourite app that I used to keep my knitting patterns/ recipes in was shut down. I didn’t remember to save anything off the app. So here I am, running out of time to find a new favourite pattern so I can knit baby 2 a toque. I may have found one to try but UGGGH…..
