More Custom Mixels! Series 12!

First we have a tribe themed around money I call the Chingblings.

Center: Bankzer is the leader, and he loves to flaunt his wealth and status. At the same time though, he is quite charitable and will fund projects that benefit the citizens of Mixopolos, so no one really seems to mind.

Left: Sayfe is in charge of guarding Bankzer's money. He's a dutiful guard, but if he gets knocked out cold, his locks end up loosening...

Right: Munnie is Bankzer's beloved Pig-like pet. He has an addiction to collecting loose change and stray coins, but will jump when startled and lose everything again.

Next is a cousin tribe to the Newzers! While the original Newzers are themed around T.V. these mixels are themed around other types of news outlets.

Center: Zignal is a radio host with a very smooth voice. Mixels and Nixels alike are always looking forward to tuning in so they can hear him talk

Left: Jurnall is a field reporter who's always on the hunt for a juicy new story. He has a habit of asking a TON of rapid-fire questions... so he has a Nixel companion who keeps him from going overboard.

Right: Typpo is a shy and quiet Mixel who spends most of his time indoors... often helping edit scripts or updating online news articles. In his free time he likes to browse fanfiction...

Lastly we have the last Tribe. A trio of criminals and robbery experts called the Krook Krew!

Center: Krime is the leader, and he's a very accomplished theif who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, be it as simple as a cookironi or as valuable as a diamond.

Left: Loxxit is a silent and skilled lock picker who rarely ever speaks. He's also very loyal to his friends, to the point he's in charge of safe-guarding any stolen loot.

Right: Blastor is the demolition expert, and who the team relies on if they need to be busted out of jail. Blastor has a nixel buddy who helps smuggle explosives if he gets caught himself.

Mortal Kombat (My spellchecker is gonna kommit suicide by the end of this), Part 2

PREVIOUSLY ON...

Shao Kahn, Emperor of the realm known as Outworld, has set his sights on Earth (or "EarthRealm" as it's known across the dimensions), but in order to open the portals to allow his troops to enter unchallenged, his forces must defeat EarthRealm's champions in a tournament known as Mortal Kombat, overseen by Shao Kahn's sorcerer Shang Tsung (so you know it will be a fair assessment)

Among those Lord Raiden, Chinese God of Thunder, has sent to the tournament are Lui Kang (dubbed the Chosen One among his temple), action star Johnny Cage, and special forces operative Lt. Sonya Blade.

Among Shang Tsung's Shao Kahn's forces are the mystical ninja Scorpion and Sub Zero as well and EarthRealm krime lord (whom Sonya is tracking) Kano.

Now, on with our story as Shang Tsung announces the kombatants' arrival to the island where the tournament is to take place.

The next morning we’re treated to a komedy sequence as Johnny struggles klimbing a staircase that rivals the one Po scaled in Kung Fu Panda while karrying about 200 pounds of luggage.

At the top, while everyone is rubbernecking, Liu spots…

…Princess Kitana, adopted daughter to Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn (and another karacter from the second game) She and Liu share a Moment from afar, so Shang Tsung calls upon another karacter from the second game…

Reptile (NOTE: In the game, Reptile is another generic ninja with a green motif. Not sure if I like this change or am just kreeped out by it)

That evening, it is time for the welcoming feast…and a show, as Shang Tsung has one of his generic minions face off against Sub-Zero…

…with predictable results.

(Kome on, you knew they’d figure out a way to work that in. I’m sure there will be at least one “FINISH HIM!” and “FATALITY!” snuck in somewhere)

As the party breaks up, we katch a glimpse of…something.

We kut to a walkway where Sonya is following Shang Tsung, but she discovers Lui and Johnny following her.

Then they see the shadow of…something that appears to have four arms. Once the shadow moves on, the trio discover Kano talking with…

Well, now we know what was kasting the shadow. Meet Prince Goro, Shang Tsung’s champion and the Near-End boss of the first game. Too bad his animation in the film is kinda krappy.

Then Shang Tsung makes an appearance, telling the others to keep Kitana from making kontact with Lui Kang. He also instructs Kano not to harm Sonya when they fight.

That’s not kreepy at all…

The Heroes of EarthRealm decide it’s time to leave, but their departure is not unnoticed by Shang Tsung, who dispatched a guard to deal with them (one guard? I’m sure they’re shaking!)

Unfortunately, the trio get lost and wind up in an unfamiliar area where they katch a glimpse of…

Lui follows her, forcing the others to keep up.

Unfortunately, he loses her and instead runs into…

(I’ll admit, given the blue I thought for sure Sub-Zero would be waiting)

With Lui half-blinded by Reptile’s venomous spray, Johnny picks up Kitana’s trail…or at least attempts to.

So Johnny thinks Kitana kan pass through sheets of spider webs without disturbing them?

Johnny’s “expert tracking” leads them back to the dining hall from earlier, where they discover…

The Heroes of EarthRealm make short work of the mooks and are awarded with a slow klap from Raiden before he points out…

…Level 2. Fortunately…

Raiden reminds the mooks to obey the rules of the tournament and leads the trio out.

The next morning, the tournament begins in earnest.

So I guess that means anyone kan fight anyone else at any time? I don’t wanna know how that will affect the tournament’s brackets. Shang Tsung starts things off with Liu Kang facing off against a nameless warrior. Lui makes short work of his opponent, then…

With that, Shang Tsung draws the fallen mook’s soul into himself.

Told you. Now we just need a “FINISH HIM!”

Next up is Sonya, for whom Shang Tsung has a present…

Yep, we have Kano against Sonya.

It’s apparent that Kano is very outmatched until Sonya’s legs have a vice grip around Kano’s head.

…and there’s the last video game quote as with a twist of her hips Sonya snaps Kano’s neck, killing him.

Elsewhere on the island…

Did I mention that Scorpion is a revenant from Hell? No? Sorry about that.

By the way, the autographed photo is from the second game where, in addition to “Fatality” endings, you kan perform “Friendship” endings. These have no impact on the game, but are kinda neat if you didn’t wanna see all the gore (which was definitely amped up in the second game)

The next round of fighting sees Liu Kang battling against…

I thought Shang Tsung was trying to keep them apart?

The pair begin fighting, but Kitana gets the upper hand.

So she’s part of Team Outworld, but she’s giving advice to an EarthRealm kombatant? Whose side is she on? Shang Tsung wonders the same thing and disqualifies Kitana.

At least she still has her soul.

That night, Lui is brought to the banquet hall (now kleared of all furniture) for his next fight (What? We don’t see who Sonya and Johnny faced in the second round?)

Oh krap.

Lui proves to be the superior fighter, so Sub-Zero kalls upon his ice powers. However, Lui sees a bucket of water nearby and throws it at Sub-Zero.

Now he’s just Plain Zero.

Later, in Goro’s chambers. Shang Tsung declares it’s time for Outworld’s champion to join the tournament.

This doesn't bode well for EarthRealm's Champions. Stay tuned for the exciting (if badly animated) konclusion!

Another follow up! This time the custom series 12 of my fan made Mixel MOCS. I actually posted a beta version of sorts of the first tribe here before. But it's been ages, and it's easier to save the digital versions than it is the physical ones... At least to me lately.

The Chingblings

A tribe themed around money and wealth. Most would pick a name with "Bank" or "money" in the title somewhere. But my idea was a mix of "Cha-ching" and "Bling".

Bankzer is the leader of the Chingblings and one of the wealthiest Mixels in Mixopolis. While frankly he has a lot of money to flaunt... He's still generally loved as he spends a good deal of it on actual charity work, paying fair wages, Investing in small businesses, and public services. He can be a little frivolous from time to time, but he still thinks of others more than himself.

Sayfe is Bankzer's loyal bank guard. He makes sure the money is locked up nice and tight, and he opens up for no one other than Bankzer. He prides himself in his loyalty and his sense of duty... But secretly he does have one weakness he's ashamed of. His vault door loosens up if someone finds a tickle spot.

Munnie is Bankzer's pet piggy bank-like Mixel. He's always adorably sniffing around and picking up loose coins he comes across as a small habit. However he is jumpy,and he'll drop all of the change he's carrying if he's startled.

The Newzers Cousins

Similar to 10 and 11, I made a third cousins tribe too. Though I have been working on making cousins for all the canon tribes who didn't get any. Since the original Newzers are based on T.V. news, these guys are based on alternative news sources.

Zignal is a radio news host with a smooth and jazzy voice that Mixels and good Nixels alike are all happy to tune into. His morning show is always a joy to listen to as he reports the weather, traffic, and the occasional juicy morning time news.

Jurnall is a plucky young investigative reporter for the newspaper division of the Newzers. He doesn't wait for stories to come to him, he's always eager to find them himself. He asks lots of questions in rapid succession so be careful while talking to him.

Typpo is a internet journalist and script editor for the Newzers who's shy and reserved. They don't really talk much and tend to mumble a lot... They spend most of their free time browsing the web for fanfiction of their favorite shows and games to read.

The Krook Krew

Because the M.C.P.D. ought to stay on their toes. If not all Nixels are bad anymore, than not all Mixels are good. Not that these guys are evil... They just like causing mischief and stealing things.

Krime is the cunning leader of the tribe, able to fly silently through the night... His only flaw is that he can be stubborn, and he'll stop at nothing to get whatever it is he wants, be it a simple cookironi or a beautiful diamond.

Blastor is the demolitions expert of the team. What's a good heist film without one? He and his Nixel buddy are great at smuggling explosives in case he and the others are caught and in jail too.

Loxxit is quiet and reserved. He's no nonsense and he gets the job done, which Krime highly respects. This Mixel serves as the lock picker, but Krime also trusts him to carry any stolen loot and keep it safe. Something Loxxit is also great at.
