There was a certain sincerity held within the verdant and sublime ‘cheesiness’ of 90′s movies and especially their soundtracks and commitment to themes. No pretense, no recoil from the verdant reverie, diving directly into the emotional context and banking onward through the expected chord change at the end. Just great stuff. One of the peak Cage movies for sure. Face/Off, Wild At Heart, you know it.
If you want to know some great raw emotional payoff in a film, view the whole Con Air and then see this song laden so perfectly saccharine over-top the final scene.
