My thoughts on 9-1-1 Season 4 Episode 6 (JINX)

• why doesn’t the probie have a name??

• odds on probie has a crush on Buck? That book drop and being that flustered was not just because someone made him jump, it was because BUCK made him jump, and you can’t change my mind

• Eddies book club comment

• “medical, baby, women”

• Buck reading a self help book on how to show your love, yes please, finally someone is managing their emotions in a healthy way

• But also the rest of the team letting him know he doesn’t have to forgive his parents straight away

• everyone’s reaction to ana, more specifically them being so confused and not knowing who she is, it may be the Buddie shipper in me but that made me happy

• that one dude when there stuck in the truck just sitting there, could he not have had like a two word line rather than just sitting in the corner of shots

• YOUNG BUCK IN A BACKWARDS CAP!!!! Amazing!! We love it! we stan it!

• Surely with Eddie growing up with a large Hispanic family, he must at least know not the test fate, most definitely not a curse!

• so Josh and Chim and Buck have a group chat???!!!!! Is it just them? Is Maddie in it? Does this mean poker night is a regular thing?!!!! I need to know!!!!

• side note: Josh appearing more and more makes me very happy, when they started bringing him in more before and during The Taking Of Dispatch, I thought they were gonna kill him

• how the hell can Brian drive the fire truck without proper training??? We see TK learning in LS and he’s been a fire fighter for a while so, 9-1-1, what is your explanation??

• the look they share when Eddie talks to Brian about letting go

• Athena being the BAMF she is and leggin it after Brian

• 118 not even getting to have group breakfast together

• also I may not like ana and Eddie, but that women agrees to breakfast at like 8 or 9 and turns up looking like that?!! Dammm Eddie got taste

• How do the station numbers work? Why would the 118 and 147 ever be in the same area? I get LA is big and it might be because I’m English but still

• HOW DO THE COLOUR SHIRTS WORK AT DISPATCH?!!!!! What do they mean? Clearly they mean some sort of level thing but I need answers

• also I noticed in other episodes even when Maddie has the same colour shirt on as someone, it’s all fancy and not a basic polo like others

heeeeeyyyy!! how are you doing? 911 anon here I just wanted to tell you that I've just finished season 3 and now I'm broken. I need more I mean... I was used to watching 10 episodes a day and being kept company by those characters and now I feel sad...

ok, so final conclusions now that I have watched the whole thing. first off, I think hen is one of the greatest characters that I've seen in a show. a poc lesbian woman with a wife and kids, kicking ass, saving lives and being so incredibly smart and kind and a good friend while also making mistakes which gives her the human element but also being kicked a few times by life and still winning in the end is the most wholesome thing that I've seen in a while by show.

second I wanna talk about chimney. I knew I'd like his character but I never assumed that I'd like SO MUCH! after seeing his background story I had another level of respect for this man and I'm so glad and happy that he found someone who appreciates the real him. all of it. which brings me to Maddie. I mean.... come on!!! a bad ass woman who finally got her freedom and saves lives but still cracks and cries and cares about all the people she's helped! and she finally finds the man who can give her what her ex husband has taken away from her. safety! chimney and Maddie are the couple I will be rooting for the most in season 4 just sayin'...

having said THAT I don't want to forget the no 1 power couple of the show which is obviously Athena and Bobby. both with their own struggles and still keeping it together (at least most of the times). I can't express how happy I was when Athena and Bobby became a thing and Bobby had a second shot in a family! also, Athena a beautiful, strong woman who never gives up... ugh... that's WHAT I'M HERE FOR!!!

and finally I need to address the elephant in the room. Buck and Eddie which were the reason (because of your posts) who got me intrested in this show. Buck in season 1 was not a very likeable? for me. before Abby he was just portrayed as a young, impulsive guy that used sex to fill an emotional void should I dare say? and after Abby although he seemed legit about this relationship it just... wasn't working. I mean don't get me wrong, I liked Abby but their dynamic with Buck was just... not it. neither of them were in a stage in their life to be in a relationship and they just couldn't help each other. it wasn't their age difference but their lives were in a very different place. they were both trying to figure themselves out. so I think it was for the best they were not together anymore. now, I know that buck 2.0 was supposedly with Abby and after Abby but I think the real buck 2.0 was when Eddie came into the scene. Eddie is a very likeable character. he saves lives, he's a single father with a kid that he has to look after... his whole appearance screams 'NICE' and I know he's done some wrong choices but I think in his case the good outdoes the bad. and this is why I love buck's and Eddie's dynamic in this show! Buck's relationship with Christopher is just adorable and ever since the tsunami episode.. ugh... I mean Buck was in such a distress! the tsunami episode is so hard to watch tbh. buck was in PAIN! and I think it's pointless to just pinpoint every single moment buck was like a second father to Chris. it would take a whole another essay. anyway, in conclusion, yes, I'm rooting for something between them, but because of what this show has given us between buck and Eddie I still wouldn't be mad if they just leave it as best friends.

as far as the other characters are concerned, I think Josh has a special place in my heart as well and I was so sad for what had happened to him. Christopher I've talked about what a lovely, happy kid he is! he's adorable. Michael is also a great character and I was relieved in the last episode that he's getting better!

to conclude, this show was one of the greatest I've seen lately and thank you so much for introducing me to it and also for being there enduring my rambles through the whole thing while I was watching it.

1. YES hen is one of the best characters and her and karen are PERFECT and i love that they worked through their issues together and i really hope hen has some good storylines in s4!!

2. chim and maddie make me so happy you have no idea they’re such strong characters individually and then together they’re so soft and lovely and i just want them to have so much happiness UGH SO MUCH HAPPINESS

3. YES BATHENA POWER COUPLE!! i honestly don’t think i’d like bobby as much if him and athena weren’t a couple i love seeing their interactions and the entire grant-nash family are just !! however athena i adore on any and every level she is my wife a goddess i worship her

4. i sort of agree with your opinion of buck, whilst i did like him in season 1 (after the first episode at least) i agree that he definitely developed more as a character in the second season without abby. and yeah, their relationship wasn’t great and i wish more had been made of the fact that it wasn’t great. eddie is *deep breath* the loml he’s a DAD he’s HOT he’s GOOD AT HIS JOB he’s FUNNY he’s COMPLICATED he’s GROWN fuck i love him and i love christopher and yeah, whatever happens between them relationship wise I’d be happy bc they are a really good portrayal of a healthy male friendship which media needs more of!! however bro some of those moments hhhh they need to be EXPLAINED!! what is the explanation!!

5. the minor characters yes every single one of them is so strong and every single one i wish we could see more of! luckily it looks like may grant will be more of a regular next season bc she works in dispatch it seems, and albert also seems to be in more so !! here’s hoping!

9-1-1: Powerless

some random thoughts in no particular order

spoilers below

This episode was great. I loved it.

I need more Karen and Chim friendship! That was amazing

Chim addressing how stupid it was for Hen to pull what she did- A+

“I can’t believe she’s leaving me” - Ugly cries cause if Hen leaves IDK what I will do

the hot air balloon callback was a clever bit of foreshadowing

Bobby not changing the channel and listening, broke my heart

but the team not even questioning him, ooof that hurt

Michael pulling the brain tumor card- A+ comedy and so real, like if your family has been through things like that, that is exactly what coping looks like.

I really liked how we got pieces for everyone, as much as I love the episodes that focus on one character more, it always feels weird when there is less of some over others. And it was understandable the Buck and Eddie sorta a got the short end of the stick for this one, but they were there and involved so it was good.

we need more Josh content

I got some subtext from Maddie in relation to doug, like take this chance cause I never got to formally do it and I hate it (cause like she was in fight or flight when she killed him, that wasn’t closure that was survival), about Josh testifying and I don’t remember if Josh knows about doug or not, he probably does though.

Michael and the cute doctor :) please let him be happy and healthy

once again proves that I will fight anyone that hurts any one of these humans- yes I am weak 20 year old who does not do exercise, and they are fictional characters, but I would .

I am excited for next week

I really hope Buck and Abby get some closure, cause I think they both need it. Yes she has clearly moved on, but she was probably coming back to LA to get closure with Buck cause she felt guilty, cause IMO she isn’t a bad person, she made mistakes and she hurt Buck. Painting her to be such a monster lacks empathy, she watched her mom deteriorate and then die, I have witnessed this, I have been through it with my Dad, and I watched my family go through that, we all made some irrational decisions while we worked through that.

Abby helped Buck grow, and I hope that seeing her and talking to her again will be the reminder that he needs to see that he has grown past her too, that everything he has been through has made him a better person and firefighter.

2020SEPT13

On Sept 5th, Christian went to Toronto and Josh and Helen got married. It sounds like Christian had the time of his life with his two closest childhood friends and his skeptism of the relationship completely disappeared when he saw Josh and Helen together and how happy they were. Getting married 6 months after meeting still seems a little crazy, but if I think about it, I did know aroums the 6 month mark that I wanted to marry Christian and I havent wavered since.. my love has grown a million times deeper since then too. Christian ended up telling everyone at the wedding that we are getting married, and I told Katherine and Maddie already.. so much for us keeping it a secret until the ring comes 😂

I know I will cherish this time for the rest of my life. Christian and I have been talking about how we never expected our love to just keep getting deeper and our relationship to keep getting better and better. I look back on even just a few months ago, and I never thought I could be more in love then but here we are. We both well know that we are in a secone honeymoon phase, were planning a wedding and have just moved to a new city and are seeing our futures together with stars in our eyes. Just blessed beyond belief. I hope and I pray we are able to live a long and healthy life together.

That being said we have found a couple neighborhoods that we love and Im really excited about it. Weve spent the last 2 days exploring the neighborhood, going to the trendy pubs there and comedy club. Imagine us living on that street.. we wohld be the trendiest parents around lol.. anyway dreaming about the future is fun and Im feeling so happy and I just always want to remember this time 💓

Chapter Forty- I Wanna Be Strong

Hi guys, so I believe we only have about fifteen (ish?) chapters left before we reach the end of the story! There will be another tiny twist before the end, though. There's a another note at the bottom of this chapter, but it doesn't have anything with this story, it's about the next one! So, as always, let me know what you think! ________________________________________________________________________________________ Once again, my days were spent in the studio, trying to keep my mind off of how lonely I felt. I knew Josh was the same, and I made sure that I took a break about an hour before the show every night to call Josh when I knew he would be free. The night of the first show when I video called Josh, the dial tone barely even rang once before I heard my favourite voice, while the screen stayed black. "Hi baby, what took you so long to answer, I called about 5 times earlier and you never picked up. Is everything okay, do I need to come home?" I could by the shakiness in his voice, just how nervous Josh felt. It was the first night that he had played a show without me being present since the day we had met. He moved the phone around so that I could see his face, concern etched all over it. His hair was wet, as if he'd just showered, water droplets clinging to his neck and bare shoulders too. "No, no you don't need to come home, love. I was cooking, then doing the dishes and my phone was still on silent from work earlier so I didn't hear your call, I'm so sorry! Is everything okay?" I could hear a sigh of relief and the look on his face visibly ease up a little. "I was worried, Ava. Ashley will actually be round soon because I called her when you didn't answer for the fourth time." Josh looked a little sheepish when he admitted this. I couldn't blame him for worrying about me after everything we had been through. I knew he cared deeply for me, it was obvious in his actions. "Anyway, what did you make for dinner?" I moved round, letting the camera follow, showing Josh the mountain of dishes in the drying rack that I had just finished washing and rinsing. "Well, I kind of felt sorry for myself seeing as you wouldn't be coming home tonight and I started making one of your favourite meals, y'know, the fake chicken/ Quorn parmesan with a shit ton of pasta and Caesar salad. Oh and brownies too, with lots of frosting. I'm pretty sure I used every dish in the cupboards to make it all." I directed my camera towards the oven so Josh could see the food, before propping my phone up against the vase sitting on the dining room table. "I'm really happy that you've got your appetite back again baby. You do realise that was the first meal you ever cooked for me in the house. Did you put the crushed walnuts in the brownies again too?" I nodded as Josh put his phone down, angling it so he could still see me as he dried his hair with a towel. He wasn't wearing anything other than a pair of tight jeans. "Baby, turn around a second, is there something on the wall behind you?" Josh turned around to look and I got perfect view of his derriere. By the time Josh had realised there was nothing on the wall and had turned back around to face me, I was leaning over the table with my chin resting against my hand, just watching him. "There's nothing there- You know something? You honestly look like the human equivalent of the 'heart eyes emoji' when you do that, it's adorable. Wait... did you do that just so you could look at my ass?" I could feel my face heating up as Josh read me like a book. I tried to shake my head, but in return, Josh simply began to smirk at me, before turning so his back was to me again. "What are you doing?" I laughed. Josh began shaking his ass in return, before quickly disappearing from the screen. I could hear what sounded like a door locking shut off screen, before Josh appeared on the screen in front of me again. He smirked again, before leaning in towards the camera, his red cap on backwards, covering his now drier hair. "Seeing as how you got to see my ass, it's only fair that I get to see yours now." I complied with Josh's request, turning around and bending over slightly before dancing for him. I looked over my shoulder to see Josh watching intently, one hand disappearing from the table that they were both previously placed on. "You've been practicing that ass shaking, baby! Also, you should wear my shirts more often. You have some serious side boob going on and I'm enjoying it." I was wearing one of Josh's sleeveless muscle shirts. As soon as I got home from work, I decided that I wasn't going out anywhere, so I changed into the muscle shirt and a pair of his baggy shorts. It wasn't until I turned to the side and looked at myself in the top corner of the screen that I notice it myself. There was a good bit of the side of my breasts on show. "You're right, maybe I should go and get changed?" Josh shook his head quickly in protest. I started to lift the hem of the shirt just a little. "Y'know, take off this shirt and go find another one to put on?" I lifted the hem slowly until a small hint of underboob was on show. I smiled as I noticed Josh had sucked his bottom lip in between his teeth, biting down a little, still watching me intensely. We were soon interrupted by a loud knock on my front door reverberated around the house. I moved my shirt back down, rolling my eyes, and moving away from my phone to answer the door. I'm pretty sure I heard Josh mutter "Damnit Ashley!" True enough, Ashley was stood at the front door as soon as I opened it. "Hey Ava, Josh hadn't heard from you so he wanted me to check everything was okay. Well, that and I missed you too, so I thought I'd come round for a catch up?" I let Ashley in to the house, gesturing for her to go into the kitchen area. Thankfully, Josh had put a shirt on while I greeted his sister. "Oh hey Joshua! I didn't know you'd managed to call Ava back! How are you feeling about tonight?" I pulled on Josh's jumper that was sat in the living room before coming back out into the kitchen, taking the seat next to where Ashley sat so we could both see the screen. "I'm okay, I was really nervous, but speaking to Ava really helped. If I get to see that beautiful face before I perform, then surely I'll be okay and the show will go well! Did I tell you what Tyler did for me?" I recalled Tyler saying he had a surprise for Josh, but I couldn't remember if he had told me what it was. "He's had a photo of you made into a big poster to be wrapped onto my drums so that I can still see your face every night until you're back on tour!" It was so soppy, just like the huge smile plastered on Josh's face. Tyler could be cheesy when it came to showing his love for Jenna, but when it came to showing his love and support for his best friend, the cheesiness hit a whole new level! It was cute though. "Tyler's a great guy baby, that was sweet of him to do that for you! Although you'll get to see me soon, I promise it won't be long!" Josh's smile faded a little as I said this. I didn't mean to upset him, I was honestly just trying to reassure him. "It's great that you have the poster for now, and it'll be time for Ava to fly out and join you in no time buddy!" Ashley tried to reassure Josh too, but we were interrupted by someone yelling from the other side of the bathroom that Josh was still currently occupying. "Guys, that's Brad calling me for the meet and greet before the show. I gotta go but I'll call you both tonight after the show?" Ashley and I said our goodbyes to Josh, watching him wave before he hung up the video call. "How are you doing then? I know it's only been two days since Josh left the house, but you look sad already." I shrugged at Ashley, moving off of my seat to take the dinner out of the oven. "I miss him, I won't lie and say that I don't, but I need to get this album finished so that I can go on tour again. Dave Rose thinks it'll only take about another week and a half or so? I just need to grin and bare it, y'know? I'm assuming you're staying for dinner by the way?" I replied placing a massive plate of food in front of Ashley, bringing the freshly tossed Caesar salad in a bowl and setting it in front of her on the table too. "Well if it smells this good, I guess I'll just have to stay and eat!" Ashley joked a little, digging into the pasta first, before the tone turned a little more serious again. "Will you be okay here on your own? I don't want you getting spooked or being lonely?" "It shouldn't be too bad, I mean it's short term right? Plus I won't really be in the house much, I've got work and I'm going to meet the therapist that you recommended on Thursday too, so that will keep me busy." That's right, I was going to speak to the therapist to see if I was able to forgive myself for what had happened. I didn't hold any grudges against anyone else for losing my child, not even Evan. Just me. I knew it wasn't healthy and if Josh and I were trying again with a clean slate, I didn't want to keep harbouring any old negative feelings. "I'm so glad to hear that you're willing to try! Dr Loggins is great, maybe you'll only need a couple of sessions, but at least you can see if it'll help you. Maddie wants all us band sisters to go for coffee on Friday or Saturday if you're up for it? We're gonna FaceTime Jenna too so it doesn't feel like she's missing out!" ******************************************************************************************** Ashley and I spoke long into the night, about anything and everything. I was so happy that Ashley had forgiven me for how I had treated Josh during the aftermath. The love I had continued to feel from the entire Dun family was overwhelming. Ashley stayed over that night, sleeping in the spare room which used to be Josh's. He kept it mostly just as a closet or storage space. Ashley couldn't stop laughing when she noticed three identical "I Want To Believe" shirts hang up, as I showed her to her room. It was nice to hang out with another female. Don't get me wrong, I love Jenna, but being able to better understand Ashley was fun. It was important to me to make the effort to get to know her and Abbie. We talked about poetry and living with anxiety. Ashley actually told me about a couple of coping techniques that I wasn't familiar with before. About half an hour after we both went to bed, Josh called my phone. The FaceTime notification appearing on my screen, resting against my pillow, lighting up the dark room. I picked up, answering the call and holding my phone so Josh could see me. "Hey, how did the first concert go?" "Yeah it was good! It went a lot better than I was expecting it to go to be honest. I missed you so much though. The sooner you're back out here, the better. Even Shap and John were complaining about you not being here. Are you absolutely sure that the album needs to be recorded right now? I could call or text Dave Rose and ask to get you out the studio?" Josh sighed, causing me to laugh. He knew the timescales that I had to work to, and the reasons as to why it needed to be completed by the end of the first week of November. That was what the label had agreed, and I was contracted to work it. I didn't, however, doubt for a second that there was a possibility Josh would text Dave Rose to ask if I could finish early. "Baby, I know you would text him, but please don't! I like this job and I want to keep it!" Josh started laughing when he saw the look of horror on my face. He held his hands up to the camera, placing the phone in his lap, looking down at the screen. "I promise I won't get you fired! Though I am counting down the hours until you're back with us all again." We spoke for well over an hour until Josh began to yawn. "Go to bed! I'm not telling you again, Joshua William Dun! Seriously, I will wake Ashley up just so she can tell you to go to bed, then you'll be grumpy tomorrow because you'll be tired and you'll have to deal with two grumpy girls because we'll be tired too!" Reluctantly, Josh said goodbye to me for the second time that night. I spent hours tossing and turning, staring up at the ceiling or over at the alarm clock on Josh's bedside table, just watching time trickle by like raindrops down a window pane. ================================================================================== Okay guys, so I'm currently working on a Tyler based story, it's very different to what I've done before and might be a little controversial with the storyline!

Today I wore my blue high waisted lululemon leggings with pockets and the sun valley long sleeve with burkin stocks + the boot.

Today is a Monday. I’m actually typing this at 2AM right now, so technically a Tuesday. I’m up so late because I was dilly dallying on the computer and also wanted to stay up to Facetime Taylor.

I started the day off later than I wanted. I woke up at 10 but didn’t get out of bed until 10:11. I was playing Forge of Empire - a game similar to GOW but not that haha. I joined a guild but now I’m not sure I want to keep playing - I’m just not sure I’ll be able to keep up during the school year. Anyways, I quickly jumped in the shower and then hurriedly put on clothes. We contemplated not staying at Millie’s because the wait was 30 minutes but ended up choosing to go there. Dad dropped me off about 15 minutes later than 10:30, the expected arrival time. I hugged Annie, Megan, and Sarah. I had the power breakfast - 6 egg whites, toast, with a cup of fruit. It was standard but it was good nevertheless! It was really nice catching up with them, truly. They all seem to be doing well. Annie is applying to Santa Clara and Sarah seems happy as a clam at Oregon. Megan just had surgery on her labrum? Its in her knee and she’ll be back in May or June. She drove me home after hanging out for about an hour and a half. We were in her truck, that I’m pretty sure I’d never seen before, but I said I had - since she insinuated that I had been. I got dropped off and then the fam and I went to walk the dogs. We saw Bill and Elizabeth’s Mom, Kate, down at Glorietta and chatted for a bit. I didn’t realize Bill was in the Navy for 26 years. Go figure. We then started watching the Rose Bowl because Tyler’s playing for USC in it. I fell asleep around 3, after about an hour of watching the game - which was actually pretty exciting from what I could see between my intermittent “coming toos”. I got up at 6:30 and then had dinner until 7:30. it was the weirdest food -bacon, quinoa, and broccoli / cauliflower. Dad dropped me off at Bahadors. Hannah bailed since she got stuck in Tahoe. Initially I thought it was going to suck but it was actually really fun. Isaac, Jose, Raghid and one of the newer hires, like right after I left, were all there. We played Jenga and pool and hung out. Low key ate some amazing citrus chocolate cookies that Raghid made. I drank a glass of wine and we all talked about engineering stuff. WE are actually all super nerdy hahahaha. I also realized, while talking to them, how fast MIT moves. Like espeically with our comparisons of thermo liek what. Idk man - MIT is aweomely amazing at advancing us I gotta say. I got back around midnight and then did some brain-power stuff. Ned is also like high key crazy workaholic. Like the email he sent literally signed off “feel empowered! - Ned” - what??? idk man, this upcoming january is going to be very interesting.

I’ve been breaking out recently which as sucked a lot. I literally just spent 15 minutes picking my zits in the mirror while I was waiting for Taylor. This is because I switched off the birth control pills which kept my acne at bay. Although, now that I’m thinking about it, I didn’t break out too badly throughout the semester. Perhaps its just my environment at home? I’ve been eating better here too so I can’t blame it too much on my diet either. I’ll see if it clears up when i go back to Boston.

I’ve been contemplating stopping watching Amanda Bucci and Emily Hayden. I really like them and I think they’re super informative. However, I’m not sure that they live healthy life styles for me. Like I’m just mentally getting over a lot and I’m not sure if I want to fall back down into super micro tracking and worrying about all the food I’m eating. You know, food guilt sucks and I don’t really have that anymore which is awesome. I’m really listening to my body and eating when i want to and not eating when I don’t want to. Like today I just sat by a table of food and had no desire to eat any of it. Also ate a cookie to taste it but felt not desire to keep eating more. So perks for Jane! I’m not sure- I just don’t want to have to care as much about it - or like have to think about it so much - I have come a long way but you know still. I only think about it when it comes around. Although i wasn’t in the mentally best state by the end of the summer- those are the food goals I want to have. Super healthy during the week. Super whatever idgaf food thats amazing on the weekends or whenever i went out. idk healthy life style. YOu can live a healthy life style without having an eating disorder. Just stop caring what people think you know and live how you want to live - granted that its safe and healthy. But you know? I’m super proud of myself for coming out of that. Honestly, the injury was a super good in helping get over that -even though it sucked- theres a lot taht I’m thankful for because of it.

Also small world - Josh Wilson’s girlfriend is friends with Maddie Oshea? Go figure.

In terms of resolutions? I guess just get stronger mentally and physically. Do well in school. People of psets. Do things everyday. Do something every day. Don’t just sit around. Interact with the world and live it. I started doing it last year and I want to continue to do that. Do things that you’ll remember.
