thinking about a Blast From the Past steddie au tonight. like, think about it for a second--steve as the sweet, well-meaning himbo raised in a fallout shelter and eddie as the cynic who shows him the world as it is:
The year was 1962, and an atomic bomb had just dropped on top of the Harrington household.
Okay, not really. It was actually a fighter jet that suffered a mechanical failure just above the little plot of land the Harringtons called their home, but Walter Harrington took it differently. Far differently.
See, the thing was that the man was living in a state of paranoid delusion over the Cold War--terrified of the possibility of an outright nuclear holocaust over the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Soviet Union. He had been carefully building a fallout shelter under his home for his wife and possible children to live in with the works--canned food, running water, and even a working television.
And one day they went in and simply never left. The explosion right when they closed the door was tangible proof that the nuclear war was happening right above them.
A few years later, around 1968, a baby boy was born in a fallout shelter with no one but his mom and dad to keep him company.
They raised Steve the best they could, even if Walter Harrington was a mad genius and Madeline Harrington was a borderline alcoholic. Even if the boy was living in a perfect little time capsule of the fifties and early sixties. Walter made sure to educate him right and teach him how to be a sociable gentleman--even if he had no idea what swear words or the concept of sex were. That was for another time. Although, twenty-four years came and went for Steve Harrington, his father still owes him 'another time'.
Steve Harrington grows twenty-four years in perfect seclusion, but that changes at the flick of a switch.
The year is 1992: supplies are dwindling Walter is growing sick, and Steve is tasked to bravely set foot in the nuclear fallout to retrieve more material. (The only reason why Walter assumes they can even get more stuff is because he observed the outside world when the shelter unlocked and mistook it as a post-apocalyptic mutant society.)
The moment Steve made it outside his little bubble, he was utterly fascinated by the world--how different the people were outside of his television and his little books, how bright the sky was outside, how the irritable man on the bus wouldn't accept the money he tried to give him, how the bus moved and didn't fling him right off his seat.
(He even saw an adult bookstore. Dad told him that those things were filled with poisonous gas. How were they even to operate if they were filled with poisonous gas? That's dangerous and totally inconsiderate of the general public's safety.)
Anyway, he tries to follow the grocery list that Mom and Dad gave him the best he can, stocking up on poultry and tissue paper and the works. But by the end of the day, he doesn't know where he came from. Not a single sign or building or person can give him a single clue where to go.
After a few hours of wandering, suitcase in hand, he comes across a store with WE BUY BASEBALL CARDS written on the window.
Golly, Steve loves baseball cards--could look at Dad's collection for hours, and with the collection he has, he could make a pretty penny selling them for supplies. Despite the little hobby store being beside an adult bookstore with poisonous gas, he scampers right in.
"I see you're looking to buy baseball cards," he says breezily to the gruff, scary-looking man behind the counter.
"That I am," he replies.
Steve pulls a few from his jacket's inner pocket. "Well, these are a bit old, you see, but I was hoping you still might be interested."
The gruff man yanks them from his hands, a spark in his eye. He looks delighted to see them, and it fills Steve with an excitement he hadn't felt at all today. Nobody has been this happy over something he's done today. "Woah," he gasps, then covers it with a cough. "Mickey Mantle rookie season...how much do you want?"
"I was hoping to sell all of my cards, actually!"
The man sputters incredulously. "All of 'em? Are you fucking with me?"
"I'm not sure what that means, but all I have are hundred-dollar bills and I need something smaller. Like, uh...ones, tens, fives..."
"Tell you what, I'll give you five hundred in small bills for all you got."
Steve smiles brightly. "Oh, that would be wonderful, sir--"
"Five hundred for a case-full of rookie season Mickey Mantles, Rick, are you fucking joking?" A deep voice cuts through Steve's thanks from the other side of the small store. He turns around to find a man leaning against a magazine rack, arms folded sternly.
The man is unlike Steve's ever seen before. Long, long limbs and big brown eyes that look traced with black and smudged around the edges. Pretty lips, too almost girl-ish, in the way they were big and plush like the women he'd see on the television. The strangest thing about him, though, was the curly hair that tumbled past his shoulders.
He looked mad, though. Madder than mad.
"Tell the poor guy you're fucking with him," long-hair-pretty-lips says to the man behind the counter, who bristles.
"Were you raised in a fucking barn, Munson? Who told you to interrupt on business?" Rick counters. Steve was really not appreciating the amount of f-words dropped in the conversation, it was uncouth.
"Sure I was!" Munson saunters towards the counter and Steve's eyes follow him like a moth to a light. "But my morals go past your business practices at this point. You remember the ninth commandment, yeah?"
"You shut your Goddamn mouth--"
"Excuse me sir, but I really don't appreciate how you're using the Lord's name in vain like that," Steve says firmly.
"See?" Munson smiles. It's like sunlight. "He gets it."
He plucks the baseball card from Rick's hand and holds it over his head when he tries to reach for it again. "See this little thing?" He says to Steve sweetly. "This guy costs six grand alone."
"Get out of town! Really?"
"Oh yeah, big guy. Selling the thing would give you a small fortune, and Rick over here is trying to con you out of it."
Steve frowns. "Is that true?" He asks Rick.
"Nothing but," Munson says in place of him. He slips the card back into Steve's hands and gives them a pat.
"The Hell is even keeping you here, Munson?" Rick sneers. "Did the gig you won't shut up about fall through like they usually do? Better to bum it out here than in your shithole apartment? Stop loitering in my damn store and make like a fucking tree. You're banned."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night," Munson says rolling his eyes. He looks at Steve, then the door, gesturing at it with a flick of his head. "I'll see you out, Beaver."
He walks them both out the door, stopping to gesture at Rick strangely--hands balled into fists with only his middle fingers up--before stepping outside onto the sidewalk.
"Well merci, Monsieur," Steve says appreciatively, because Dad taught him French was always to be used on such occasions.
"What, you're French?"
"Oh no, I'm"--he thinks back to what Dad told him if a mutant asks where he's from. Gosh, he thinks he's supposed to be--"out on business."
"And you don't even have a clue about the little business trick that Rick tried to pull?"
"No...no, I--"
"Yeah, doesn't matter." Munson shrugs. He smiles sympathetically at Steve before turning on his heel and walking off. Oh boy, what would he do without him?
He follows him like a lost puppy, that's what.
"...You going the same way?" Munson asks incredulously. Steve shakes his head.
"Well, I'm following you."
Munson stops in his tracks, blinking, and Steve almost runs into him in his state. "Me?"
"Well yes! Where are we going?"
"We?" Munson asserts. "I'm going back to my shithole apartment, and judging by that jacket you're wearing, you should be taking the next left and hop-skipping straight to the barber college."
"Oh, I'm lost, though."
"Aren't we all?"
"Say, did you just get banned from that hobby store because of me?" Steve says to change the subject.
Munson sighs. "Seems like I did, sailor. The place was shitty anyways, with that dickhead running the operation. Wayne could get better cards from a different joint."
...dickhead? Steve's never heard that leave the seams of anyone's lips before. "Dickhead?"
"Yeah, he's a real fucking loser. A walking talking penis capable of human speech."
Steve gets queasy at the image he's concocted in his head. He leans against the nearest brick wall, his suitcase tumbling to the ground as he drops into a contemplative squat.
"Dude, what is wrong with you?"
"Well, the mental image that I..."
Munson's eyebrows scrunch before he reaches out a hand to Steve. He takes it, letting the man haul him upward. "Look, man, where'd you park your car?"
"I came by bus."
"Aren't you full of surprises."
"I am?"
"Okay look." Eddie raises his hands, palms splayed in the air. "It's your first time in Los Angeles, right? Everyone wants a taste of it, I know, and you're out for business and fucking famished. You got the opportunity to see the great big world outside of your little bubble and you got excited--but you took a bus and got mixed up in the middle of San Fernando Valley without a clue in the world. Am I correct?"
Steve listens in wonderment. So far, Munson's been correct in a way. He's convinced he might be psychic. He nods slowly and seriously just to see Munson flash that lighting-strike smile.
"Great, great. Which brings us to here. Correct again?"
"Oh yeah."
"Where are you staying?"
Nowhere, at the moment. Steve opens his mouth to say so, but Munson interrupts quickly. "Holiday Inn?"
"Yes, the Holiday Inn!" Steve says totally truthfully.
"Okay, cool. Cool." Munson claps his hands together with finality and starts walking. "The nearest bus station is a couple of blocks away if you take a right--"
"Don't you have a car?"
Munson stops in his tracks again. He turns to face Steve once again. "What's your name, sweetheart?"
Something warm pools in Steve's gut at the pet name. Something about the way those pretty lips form that word sends blood rushing to his cheeks. "Steve," he says.
"Alright, Steve." Oh boy, his name sounds even better when Munson says it. "Rule number one in Los Angeles? Never let a stranger drive you anywhere."
"If it makes you feel any better," Steve says sweetly, "I don't have a gun."
Munson pales, then starts running.
"Hey!" Steve cries and makes haste to follow him. "I must've said something wrong, please forgive me!"
"Nope, nope--get the fuck away from me, man!"
He grabs Munson's wrist to pull him back, which is a bad move since the man starts writhing around in his grip. "I'm not going to hurt you, sir!"
Steve drops Munson's hand and raises his in surrender. "See?"
"...Just let me get to my car."
"I'll give you a Rogers Hornsby if you take me to my hotel," Steve reasons.
Munson stills. "...That's like four grand, don't bullshit me."
He pulls the card from his jacket and presents it as evidence. "See? I was holding it back." He wants Munson to feel safe. "I got two." He reaches for the other cards in his pockets and pulls them out. "And-and all these other ones, too!"
"Okay, okay. You'll give me four thousand dollars if I drive you to your place?"
"Uh-uh!"
"That's it?"
"Yep."
"And I don't have to give you a quickie in the backseat or anything?"
"Yes sir--wait, what?"
Munson blows past his question like it didn't even leave Steve's mouth. "Can you stop with the sir crap?"
"Well, I'm sorry, sir--"
"My name is Eddie."
Eddie...Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. Wow, what a name. It's almost like something he's heard on the television.
"Why, it's nice to meet you, Eddie."
"Tolerable to meet you too, Steve."
Steve smiles shyly, then asks, "So are you a girl?"
"Excuse me?"
"Well it's just your hair...it's so long." Steve points at his as an example. "I've never seen anything like it before."
"Dude, it's 1992, every other guy looks like this--have you been living under a rock or something?"
Something like that. Steve shrugs.
"Well guys having long hair doesn't mean that they're girls, Steve, that's a given. It's not 1962 anymore." Eddie backtracks. "Well, I mean, dudes can have long hair and be chicks and chicks can be dudes too but that's not--"
"Oh, wow, my dad told me about one of those the last time he went here!"
"Oh that's fantastic, sweetheart," Eddie says, sugary-sweet. "But how about I drive you home?"
"That'd be a pleasure, Eddie."

Hey lovely. Wanted to ask you this as you work in the industry but who funds Louis’ tour? Is that the record company or is he doing it himself? And who pays his band, manager etc? I’m just curious as to how much support he’s getting from his record label or if he’s really doing a lot of self funding.
Hello, my love! I’m gonna try and explain this the simplest way possible so I don’t get into too much jargon and make you read a 3,000 word essay hehe. Also, contracts can all vary, but this is the most standard way of touring when it comes to big artists. Let’s goooooo!
Okay, SO, when a big artist (or band) go on tour, they will 99.9% of the time have a contractual Agreement with a concert promoter, this includes the likes of Australian exclusive promoter TEG (who Niall is touring Australia with this year), international promoter Live Nation (Harry toured worldwide with them, Louis did Australia/Asia with them and probably worldwide too because of global deals), Australia/NZ exclusive promoter Frontier Touring (T Swift for Australia, but she was with Live Nation in the US) and there are many other promoters worldwide too. You’ll see on some specific marketing material that the artist and promoter put out, it will have their logo at the bottom of the tour poster, and shows they are what is called a “sponsor” or the concert promoter for this tour. See examples of this below:
Tumblr media
^ niall’s Australian tour with TEG live on the bottom right
Tumblr media
^ one of Harry’s US posters with Live Nation at the bottom
Tumblr media
^louis’ Singapore tour poster, also with Live Nation at the bottom
So basically, what these concert promoters do, is sponsor the artist. That means, the booking agent/tour manager will sign a contract with whichever promoter offers the best deal, and will tour with them. The reason why they sign up for a tour with a promoter, is because the promoter provides a safety net, and takes care of a lot of the things that come with touring that the artist and their team don’t wanna think about organising, and so they let them do it for them. This includes stuff like paying and organising crewing teams and riggers and those guys, work Visas to get into the country, marketing, venues and available dates for shows, catering, sound/lights/backline/LED, rent costs for the venue, security, flights, accommodation, etc., which is negotiated per the contractual Agreement.
The tour manager of the artist also works really closely with these guys to approve any staging, catering, or locally rented lighting rigs and all that specific fun stuff that the artist doesn’t travel with, but is particular about to make the shows/tour exactly how they want them (this will be in their production rider and hospitality rider that they supply the promoter with).
Let’s say, for example, Niall really wants to stay in a specific 5 star hotel in Brisbane, he wants a flight to Aus at a very particular time on a very specific date, he wants to bring 40 crew members with him, he needs a specific set of lights and a particular sound desk at each show (bc he’s my little drama queen). Him and his team are super busy on the other side of the world, they just don’t have time to organise all of that. It would be constant emails and phone calls back and forth with quotes, availability, submitting 40 work Visa applications, multiple suppliers saying “yes we can do that” and “no we can’t”, time zones, etc., so why not sign up with a promoter and let them do it for him?
So now, we get into the money side of things. Sure, niall knows he will make money if he tours without a promoter, he knows he’ll sell tickets in Aus, and he knows that he’d probably come out with a profit. But apart from not wanting to organise and spending a heap of money on all of this stuff, is it worth touring if he doesn’t think it’ll be sustainable and he’s basically lost money from doing it? No, it’s not. SO promoters know this, and they all fight for artists to sign with them, by offering up the biggest guarantee they can. This is often a guarantee vs ticket sales scenario.
So, if TEG were like “hey niall, we’ll guarantee you $800,000 to tour with us, or, 80% of ticket sales, whichever amount is higher”. A guarantee means he’s not relying on ticket sales alone. He knows that if none of his shows sell out and less people come than he thought, he’s still gonna get $800,000. Or, if he sells a heap of tickets, he gets more than that, yay! But if Frontier Touring were like “nah, come with us, we’ll give you $700,000 vs 90% of ticket sales, he’d have to consider the fact he might not make as much money, unless he really trusts that all of his shows sell out. So they usually go with whoever can give a higher guarantee.
Now, within these deals, sometimes the higher the guarantee, the more the artist has to pay for themselves (I’m keeping this at like… what a Harry/Niall/Louis level deal would kind of be, not like an Elton John level or something, because that would probably vary entirely). So, Niall has been guaranteed this insane amount of money, but TEG are then like “well… we’ll do all of this and you know you’re making money, but we do have a budget. So you can pay for your flights and work visas, and everything that you want that is above our budget cap, but we will try to keep everything under budget unless you approve to pay more for a specific thing you want”. Ya know? So yeah, Niall is like “hell yeah dudes, sounds good. Sign me up”. And then it’s all a bunch of finance organising etc., but yeah. Usually the smaller the band, the more they’ll pay for if they go with a promoter, because the promoter doesn’t want to take too many risks on them and still needs to make money. They’ll still get a guarantee, but will have to sort out more by themselves, and not treated exactly like royalty like Harry would be.
So long story short, the concert promoter funded Louis’ tour, and probably organised just about everything. The concert promoter sends the money to Louis’ agent (whether it be the guarantee or higher due to ticket sales), and they divide that amount to him, his manager (which is usually 15-20% but can differ with how famous the artist is), anyone else involved in contracts for % of touring, and then happy days. The tour is over and everything has been a lot easier than the tour manager(s) having to organise it all by themselves, and risk losing a bunch of money in doing so.
Thanks for the q, anon! Let me know if you need clarification on anything xx

Any tips for someone who wants to get into dice making? And doesn't have a huge budget?
UH, probably not the best in terms of advice considering I myself am still learning and dice making itself is very much a trial and error kind of hobby. ( And with that can come some sink costs )
But I’ve done much research over the last year and a half that I’ve been making dice so I can try and provide a little bit of insight into what I’ve learned, found helpful and maybe some places to start!
First things first, be very ready to fail and more than likely waste some money. It frankly just comes with the cost of trying to learn how to make dice, especially when collecting your supplies, buying equipment and packaging — and all the other stuff that comes with the growing pains of learning. A new art. Especially when you get your ratios wrong and waste and entire days worth of work on poorly mixed resin, silicone or just being plain bad at using a vacuum chamber.
Pro-tip: ALWAYS get your resin a warm water bath before you work with it, it helps the resin pour smoothly and gives you a bit more work time! 👍✨
Overall, we can start with some good videos and resources.
1. If you wanna start basic, I highly recommend DiceWitchery and her PVC dice mold tutorial ( as well as her entire channel ) as a start for mold making, as it doesn’t require much in the way of materials, it’s a very easy process and you can make multiple singular molds for dice if you want to make options like extra die types or multiples for a set.
2. Otherwise if you wanna go the more polished and advanced ( once you’re there and able ) look into a pressure pot. There’s a lot of options for pressure pots that are made and rigged for resin casting but this can get very costly, very fast — make this a long term goal, if it’s something you’re serious about when it comes to dice making otherwise, know that you don’t need to have one to make good dice. It is possible to pull good sets without them, but there will be more room for error with hand pours. It comes with the growing pains of learning your process and how to perfect it when you have the means to in the future! Start small, work big!
3. Look into resource groups, I’ve joined a few community discords and reddits that have offered a lot of helpful insight and advice for dice making — anything from where to start to how to fix voids, what pressure pots to use or most cost effective materials. It’s something requires a fair bit of research just to sort of give yourself some direction on what sort of dice you like or the types you want to make. Find people who can help with answering questions and giving insight, their trial and errors can be your strengths and successes as you learn too!
4. Find other dice makers —- truly, Instagram is probably the best spot ( aside from twitter ) that I’ve found to be a wealth of inspiration and very active dice making community. I’ve learned a lot from some people I’ve met through there who have been beyond helpful and provided tons of insight to their processes and motivations for their dice making! Learn techniques and processes that you want to implement, study style types and dice trends. Look at what is out there and see ways that you can build upon it! I’ve made a list of some good dice makers that I’ve the chance to talk to and pick the brain of and can really commend them as small businesses! ( This comes from a rag post on Kraken dice but namely, but I provide a list of very good reputable dice makers I’ve bought from, talked with and learned from that I would much rather support as someone who is newly learning and seeing the vastly amazing things people can do! )
5. Rybonator is an amazing resource and dice maker that provides a TON of the hard work in experimentations and variation when it comes to process and styles! His channel was super helpful for me starting out!
6. Arcanacast is an amazing company with dice masters that you can get pre-made in standard sets or have them customize your own. They have tons of materials for dice polishing, molds, and other items that have helped tremendously with my own dice making! They are a very wonderful and professional pair, and I can’t recommend them enough for getting custom masters if you’re wanting something more personalized to your own special brand!
Otherwise, peruse Etsy for sure! It’s a godsend for good master sets from standard to custom, molds and even things like alcohol inks, mica powders, dried flowers, glitters, foils ( all of these things you can obtain through amazon on a budget as well or really any craft store you can get your hands on — Michaels is a godsend, just go frolic through the resin craft aisles and that’s pretty much all you need to start )
This honestly is just a fraction of what I can really offer, since I’m frankly just as new to dice making and have been seeking out how to start aside from just buying everything in a giant heap and then experimenting. It truly is a craft that requires a lot of time, and willingness to fail; but I’ve had a ton of fun so far in what I’ve made and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get better with some time! I wish you all the best in your dice making journey and that any of this was remotely helpful enough to get started! Good luck and happy dice making! ✨

Microeconomics in Buying Soccer Cleats
I have been playing soccer for around 14 years now and one of the most fun but frustrating things about it is buying new cleats. A few times every year when my cleats would start to wear out, me and mom would go out to a sports or soccer store to buy new soccer cleats. The act of buying soccer cleats for me and all other players involves many ideas of economics.
Going to the stores you notice that the soccer cleat industry is an oligopoly. Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armor and New Balance are pretty much all the soccer cleat companies. They block new companies from entering with their money, power, and roots in the industry which is why you only have three brands max at stores. Just like companies of different goods they buy out stores to sell their only version of the good.
Many factors go into picking the right cleats and many people including myself have gone through trial and error to find them. I have found that Pumas are the most comfortable for me and I like them the most. Nike comes after that with usually lighter cleats that are slightly uncomfortable. Lastly, Adidas that I can’t even put on because the cleats are too narrow for me. My preferences for cleats change every now and then but if there is no practical reason for me changing they stay the same.
Soccer cleats are a very inelastic good because of the competitive advantage and our preferences. The companies who produce keep the prices way over the manufacturing price because they know people will buy them. Soccer is a competitive sport and players will do anything for a little competitive advantage. Our preferences affect the inelasticity too because if you see from my preferences only Puma seems optimal so I am not wasting money on others. I have bought cleats reaching $200 and they were probably manufactured for only $20-30 worth of materials, but because they are the best on the market for me they are worth it in my eyes for the advantage.
The demand for soccer is growing higher day by day since the US in the past few years has focused a lot on the sport. Oligopolies have a lot of control on the market so they can control the supply and price of the cleats. The last couple times I have had to buy cleats I had to go to multiple stores because the cleats I wanted were sold out. The demand and prices for cleats keeps rising but the companies do not make enough of a supply for specifically high demanded cleats. They know though that our preferences won’t change because of the cleat shortage and we would buy a different one of the company's models or just wait for what we want goes back in stock. Inelasticity goes into this too, they can increase the price more because of the increase of demand, and players will still invest.
Tumblr media
The process of buying cleats captures a multitude of microeconomic theories and terms that we have learned. In the future I might try to find a smaller company with cleats that are price of manufacturing but until then I have to buy from the oligopoly. This pretty much sums up my economic perspective of the cleat industry. Here are some pictures of my soccer cleats over the years that my family ties up in the garage.

How do I plan a budget friendly move with packers and movers?
Introduction:
Moving to a new home or office is an exciting adventure, but it can also be a costly endeavor. From packing supplies to hiring movers, the expenses can quickly add up. However, with careful planning and strategic decision-making, you can plan a budget-friendly move without sacrificing quality or convenience. In this guide, we'll explore practical tips and strategies to help you save money while working with packers and movers , with insights from RKS Transport, a trusted name in the industry.
1. Set a Realistic Budget: The first step in planning a budget-friendly move is to set a realistic budget based on your financial situation and moving needs. Consider all potential expenses, including packing supplies, moving services, transportation, and any additional costs that may arise. Be sure to leave some room in your budget for unexpected expenses or emergencies.
2. Compare Quotes from Multiple Moving Companies: Don't settle for the first moving company you come across. Take the time to research and compare quotes from multiple moving home shifting services in Coimbatore, including RKS Transport. Request detailed estimates that outline the cost of services, any additional fees, and the terms of the agreement. Compare these quotes to find the best value for your money.
3. Book Early: Booking your move early can help you secure better rates and availability with moving companies. Avoid peak moving seasons, such as summer and weekends, when prices tend to be higher. By planning ahead and booking early, you can take advantage of lower rates and ensure that you have plenty of time to prepare for your move.
4. Declutter Before You Move: Before the packers and movers arrive, take the time to declutter your home or office. Go through your belongings and identify items that you no longer need or use. Donate, sell, or discard these items to lighten your load and reduce the cost of moving. Remember, the less you have to move, the less you'll pay in moving expenses.
5. Pack Yourself: While professional packing services can save you time and hassle, they can also add to the cost of your move. Consider packing yourself to save money on packing services. Start early and pack one room at a time, using free or low-cost packing supplies such as cardboard boxes, newspaper, and bubble wrap. Be sure to label each box clearly to make unpacking easier.
6. Opt for Basic Services: When working with packers and movers in Coimbatore, you may be offered a range of additional services, such as packing, unpacking, and furniture assembly. While these services can be convenient, they can also increase the cost of your move. To save money, opt for basic services and handle tasks like packing and unpacking yourself.
7. Utilize Flexible Moving Dates: If possible, be flexible with your moving dates to take advantage of lower rates. Moving companies often offer discounted rates for mid-week moves or off-peak times. By being flexible with your moving dates, you can save money and potentially avoid scheduling conflicts with other clients.
8. Pack Efficiently: When packing your belongings, pack efficiently to maximize space and minimize the number of boxes you'll need. Use small items to fill gaps in boxes and pack fragile items with care to avoid damage. Utilize space-saving techniques, such as nesting items inside each other, to reduce the number of boxes and packing materials required.
9. Negotiate with Moving Companies: Don't be afraid to negotiate with moving companies to get the best possible rate. Ask about any available discounts or promotions, and inquire about ways to reduce costs, such as bundling services or adjusting your moving date. Be polite but firm in your negotiations, and don't hesitate to shop around if you're not satisfied with the initial offer.
10. Plan for Additional Expenses: Finally, be prepared for additional expenses that may arise during your move. Budget for things like meals, lodging, and unexpected emergencies to avoid financial stress. Having a buffer in your budget will give you peace of mind and ensure that you're prepared for any unexpected costs that may come up.
Conclusion:
Planning a budget-friendly move with packers and movers is entirely possible with careful planning and strategic decision-making. By setting a realistic budget, comparing quotes, booking early, decluttering before you move, packing yourself, utilizing flexible moving dates, packing efficiently, negotiating with moving companies, and planning for additional expenses, you can save money and enjoy a smooth and stress-free move with RKS Transport. With these tips and strategies, you can achieve a successful relocation without breaking the bank.

How important is a continuous market presence for a company, especially during times of strife?
COMMENTARY:
Well, this is exactly where managers measure the cost benefit given the risk of continuing to commit working capital with insufficient return, Pretty quickly, you ca be tapping equity and you need to measure no juts, no glory against foreclose. At what point does this become a command decision?
Keeping people in the field is the capital investment, not executive compensation, I have been in companies where the owner cut his losses and told us on payday that he was out of business and our pay checks were part of the salvage value the court demanded to turn off the lights.
But, if you are the CEO, this is why they invest in a Harvard MBA degree. It’s a tough decision, You are running a Clipper Ship and you need an ice breaker. There may just enough free water to slip through an make a big pay off. Or you can crash and freeze to death, All of you. Mission, Men, Self,
All things considered, continuous market presence is the best bet. Starting and running a business is a continuous leap of faith, The Harvard MBA program is based on the mechanics of Scientific Management, what Ray Dalio calls the Economic Machine, Both Marx and Frederic Winslow Taylor shared a Transaction Theory based on the steam engine as the prime mover of the economy, Marxism and Taylorism are opposite sides of the same dialectical materialism coin, Both are Supply Side constructs,
Ray Dalio’s Transaction Theory is a significant improvement and is based on the T Model Ford. The important thing is the spark plug which represents the entrepreneurial impulse that drivees American society, In terms of doing more with less while getting the biggest bank for the buck,, Dalio’s Transaction Theory is the absolute apogee of operational excellence possible under the Nazification of Supply Side economics. The Final Solution was a huge money pump until they lost the war, but it was fun while it lasted,
W. Edwards Deming’s Quality Assurance business model employs a Transaction Theory based on the Yellow Submarine at Woodstock if it was a honey bee hive.. The statistics of Quality Assurance is how to build a jellyfish out of Lego Blocks. Statistics in an operational milieu of any business organization abouve 300 people is a profoundly subtle spinal system that helps to fulfill Fayol’s Management Principle of Justice, W, Edwards Deming was, typically, anti-union as a Cheaper by the Dozen business philosophy, but he discovered in Japan, he had to re-invent the industrial organization that MacArthur and made constitutionally illegal during the occupation. Both Marxism and Ray Dalio’s Transaction Theories violates the principle of Esprit de Corps. Demings Quality Assurance business model, like the Army Ranger School, is based on Fayol’s principle of Esprit de Corps.
Here’s the leap I hope you will make: Mark Cuban just made a statement supporting DEI and he is being attacked by agents of Nazification who oppose diversity, Conformity is the essence of the January 6 conspiracy, it’s as clear as black from white.
Mark Cuban is exactly correct. I’m not a particular fan of Cuban because he is a little too WWE for my tastes, but he went to Indiana University for its business school and, at the time I was there, DEI and Quality Assurance were baked into the business model Cuban is exactly correct about DEI and that’s how he got rich. I wouldn’t have seen this before Trump, but Cuban is the business equivalent of Pete Buttigieg, He enjoys getting stuff done. That’s what being woke is all about, Getting stuff done,
So, in answer to the original question, should you keep your troops in the field when the market’s gone to hell, well, that’s why Mark Cuban with to the Indiana University Business School and not Harvard or University of Chicago.
And that’s who your are voting for with Biden-Harris. Continuity of Purpose is a Deming Principle.
Drive Hear out of the system is Elon Musk’s favorite Quality principle to flagrantly violate, Management by Fear is his Passion, It’s an Afrikaner thing,

Petty Corruption?
For several years I worked in Winnipeg Manitoba. By strange circumstances it was also the city I was born in but left when I was one month old.
Winnipeg is actually a fairly wealthy place. It was the center of wheat board trading, insurance, investment and all sorts of lucrative financial stuff. For decades every Sony device sold in Canada went through there and was marked up significantly.
There is a world class Ballet troupe and a Symphony Orchestra. It is in the middle of dead flat Prairie with hot summers and painfully cold winters.
It is also just like a small town where everyone knows everyone and networking and connections start in grade school. I worked in a construction and construction materials company. I was told the job there was to be an engineering manager, but after I went to see I was told that job had been given to a young guy who they would appreciate if I helped him develop his skills. The money was the same and I was stupid and stayed. The reason the young guy was there was he was the son of the City Manager.
In many cities the city manager is a non-elected bureaucrat who holds all the actual day to day power. My employer supplied materials and things directly to the city without bidding on them, and this young guy was the tit for the tat. There was a lot of city money coming in.
I learned a lot about ethics and law there as the bosses made an art of skirting both. Over time I was getting more and more uncomfortable but I learned there was no way around the "culture" in the office. The usual outlets to report such things were filled with people's friends and even family.
The last big event that turned me was a huge project. The local newspaper was part of a big national chain. They were building a new printing facility. It was huge, expensive and everything had to be built around and for the press machine being made in Germany. I had been moved to sales as I could do preliminary designs and price them in one go. I would go to design meetings and offer alternatives and rough costs and follow up quickly. The project was being done by a company called "The Austin Company". I had never heard of them. At lunch with their project managers I found out they never bid jobs to tenders. They always negotiated with the owners and did turnkey work. The company was one of the biggest in the world and very rich. I was impressed.
The project was really interesting. As is often the case in Winnipeg they liked to build in the winter. The ground is nice a hard rather than the usual horrible sticky mud. I prepared a scheme with the architects to prefabricate the whole thing so It could be built like a kit in any weather. I worked hard and refined it and made a very thorough price estimate. That was taken by the sales manager and the bosses fiddled it a bit before submission.
The next day the head of the office was smiling and said we got the job. I asked how was that possible, it was only submitted the day before. He then told me that we always were getting the job regardless. Our company was owned by a huge international construction materials conglomerate which also, surprise, owned the Austin Company.
That upset me in a strange way. First I was elated to get the job as it was a tricky one and I had put a lot into it. Next I was pissed that I had worked so hard when the bosses knew the fix was in. Finally I felt more than a bit dirty.
In my defense I did not know and did the best job I could so the product was a clean effort. I do not know what the fiddles in the prices were or what transpired on phone calls, but my part was clean. Still the smell of cheating was in the air.
There were more things later. Like the provincial lottery company building a palace for themselves without bidding it out. I was already making plans for an exit. When the for sale sign went up in front of my house I started to get calls from other companies about job offers. There was a gentlemen's agreement to not poach people from other firms but they knew where I lived and when my house went on the market. I wanted out of the city. It was too much.
So I left and headed back West. A new baby and my wife in two cars driving through a spring blizzard.
